The Situation Of Sub Saharan Migrant Women
It is a tragic situation. Sub Saharan migrant women in these circumstances are subject to additional
abuse of their human rights. African women are often exploited. A majority of reports on migration
into Morocco on to Europe involve trafficking of women (Anyadike, 2015). Many women seek
financial security in the form of a sponsor, usually from a man who will accompany and support them.
But this type of aid has negative effects, it has caused a stressing issue that creates debt bondage in
which they must pay off most commonly through sex work (Anyadike, 2015). Article four of the
Universal Declaration of Human Rights prohibits slavery, another unethical practice that Africans
have resorted to is in direct violation of the human rights. Again, it is rooted in the weakness of the
migrants. Most that participate in sex work have no other options. And those who perpetrate this
exploitation have created an unbreakable cycle, forcing African women to be in debt for as long as
they can draw it out for. This problem is not going away with the industry of sex trafficking well and
live alive, even today; the issue is expanding. And solutions are hard to come by, especially when the
parties involved are limited with incentives or resources to help.
It seems that the Moroccan population is unlikely to work towards a solution to the human rights
abuse of the foreigners. On the other end, the Africans in the unethical, poor state that they are in are
helpless. But is

Reliability Based Cost Model Essay
Reliability Based Cost Model Development As it is of December 2017, AWST contracts Romax for
wind farm Operation and Maintenance costs estimates. The motivation for contracting Romax instead
of performing an estimate ourselves is that Romax can do a better job than AWST due to a larger
database of failure modes and deeper expertise. Due to this reason, AWST does not have a model that
could have ingested the data even if it was available that is an additional barrier for in house cost
model. This memo will lay down the difficulties and the way to overcome them to create an in house
reliability based cost model. An additional benefit of pursuing reliability statistics is the enhanced

For a numerical implementation, this equation can be written in vector matrix form below. ψ(P ⃗
)=f^1 (P ⃗ )+∫_T▒〖ψ(P ⃗ )K((P ) ⃗,P ⃗ )d(P ) ⃗ 〗 ψ(P ⃗ )= event density for a state vector P at
time t. f^1 (P ⃗ ) = first state probability ψ(P ⃗ ) = event density at time t K((P ) ⃗,P ⃗ )= state
transition kernel. This equation looks complicated but it is based only on the Weibull failure
distribution and Markov matrices process which some people of our team are very familiar with.
Alternatively, a simple Monte Carlo simulation for two states up and down can be calculated using the
Weibull failure distribution described below. Developing an algorithm to process the time in
operating, failing, and failed condition for each of the components is the key element for the cost
modeling. This effort should go in parallel with obtaining the Weibull distributions for each of the
components described below. A feedback should be obtained from Brian Kramak and Stephen
Lightfoote to quantify the time and effort required for developing Markov Chain Monte Carlo
algorithm. Weibull Distribution Most of the failure modes follow a two parameter Weibull failure
distribution as shown below. F(t)=1 exp[ (t/η(X) )^β ] η(X)=characteristic life (scale parameter)
β=Weibull slope (shape parameter) β is obtained through Weibull Log fit from field data. η(X) is
obtained through fitting a Weibull Log Linear model (also known as Weibull regression or Weibull
proportional hazards).

New Belgium Business Analysis
New Belgium is a company in which stands behind its core values of ownership, giving back to the
community, and sustainability. Furthermore, they are a highly regarded brand that is essentially known
for its high quality and its commitment to becoming environmentally friendly (Ferrell Hartline, 2014).
Moreover, New Belgium has formed many collaborative and strategic partnerships. Even more
importantly, one of the cornerstone competitive advantages is how customers serve as an advertising
advocate for New Belgium Brewery in how the customers word of mouth brings forth more business

for this company and further promotes the company s strategic focus. Ferrell Hartline (2014) note that,
the company utilizes 20% less water than most companies they compete with. New Belgium focuses
on the TBL (Triple Bottom Line) approach and looks at the impact on profits, people, and the planet
rather than the bottom line (Ferrell Hartline, 2014, p. 354). Besides, reducing waste associated with
producing the New Belgium beer the company further institutes providing positive environmental

Victoria Crosse s Achievements
Astoundingly, 7 of the 9 Victoria Crosses were awarded during the Battle of Lone Pine, and the battle
had succeeded its tactical objectives, despite the hellish conditions and the fact that over 2200 men
died. Many commanders as well as the press in Australia perceived Lone Pine as one of the greatest
victories on the peninsula and a fine display of Australian gallantry (Crawley, 2012). Bean rated it as
one of the four great achievements of the AIF. He was right but so were the Turks when they called it

1.1 Background of Study
In recent years, with the innovation of promotion tools, print media and broadcast media that know as

1.3 Problem Identified
Flash Mob is the activity that conducted by the community which assemble in public area and make a
unique and attractive movement. But, in fact Flash Mob could lead curiosity of a people. We have
been introducing with modern social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
Flash mobs use viral marketing techniques or simply word Flash Mobs use social media and
technology to aid the viral process, where viral marketing would involve an effort to spread an idea,
knowledge and information by encouraging people to pass on the message that companies or
organization want to spread. Social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube become tools in
spreading the initial plan for a flash mob.
There is an aspect of Flash Mob that makes it productive as a promotional tool. If we are looking at
the number of participant and also the number of the viewer of Flash Mob, it can conclude that Flash
Mob as promotional tools was success to encourage people. Based on description above, it attracts my
curiosity in studying how does Flash Mob and Viral Marketing play a role as a promotion tool.

Macbeth Play Vs Movie Essay
One of the most famous Shakespearean plays today, which wasn t popular back in the Elizabethan era
because of the violence shown in the murder of the king, is Macbeth. This is a play about the struggle
for power, through mostly violent means. The two film versions that we watched as a class were two
very different depictions of the play. Rupert Goold s film from 2010 (to be referred to as Film A), even
though it is the same play, was in my opinion less enjoyable than Geoffrey Wright s film (to be
referred to as Film B), which was an older film, made in 2015. There were many things that were
different about these two films, and these differences can change a person s general view towards this
play. Of the many differences, the most prominent ones that affect our liking towards the play include
the setting of the scenes and the depiction of characters. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think this is what Rupert Goold was trying to portray because it added more to the dark theme of
murder along with a more political view which strengthens the theme of power. These scenes had very
old props in the background, even the castles were gloomy and ominous. However, this darkness was
best shown in the scene of Duncan s murder in which Macbeth comes out with bloody daggers in
hand; no actual scene with violence was shown in this film, making it (somewhat) appropriate for all
ages. Even the scene of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth s encounter showed less inappropriate actions as
most other films, such as Film B, had shown. I am not supporting these actions but they are
fundamental for a more realistic film version of Macbeth. Film A just didn t have that. Finally,
everything else in this film was enjoyable and well done such as the camera angles and close ups.
These were done when necessary to add dramatic effects especially when Macbeth kills

The second dimension is tangibles which are things like physical facilities, equipment, personnel,

sure they are giving the customer the most adequate service, as well as promptly giving that service.
The fourth dimension is assurance, which is when a company conveys trust and confidence so the
consumer does not have to worry about their service being completed. The last dimension is empathy;
because consumers do not want an uncaring person handling a mistake when they are stressed enough,
but much rather have a caring employee deal with the matter. All of the quality dimensions are really
focused around keeping your product or service where it has been without raising costs, as well as
keeping a healthy customer service sector on board to work through troubling economic times where
consumers do not want to worry about services that have been loyal to them in the past. (Hartlet et al.,

Andy Warham Race Riot Essay
1) Andy Warhol s Race Riot a) Andy Warhol s Birmingham Race Riot exhibits two of the four roles of
a traditional artist; he makes a visual record of his current time and he has a hidden message in the
artwork. Through this piece, Warhol records a powerful visual of America s peak of racial tension in
the 60 s. This was also a part of the Death and Disasters series, and captured his feelings of disgust for
the racial divide. He wanted his audience to realize the riots were the root of disaster in America and
would lead to its eventual death. b) In addition to Warhol having this piece in his Death and Disaster

Freedom To Diego Freedom Quotes
Freedom to Diego is his old life, the life out of jail. Freedom to me is being able to do what I want
when I want, get to dress how I want, say what I want, be who I want, the list goes on. Diego isn t
free, I am. Diego wants to be free, but I already am. Freedom is a right, yet Diego, and thousands and
thousands of people around the world don t. But I do. In my opinion, freedom is a really important
part of the book, as I believe Diego takes the dangerous job to be able to have freedom from his
disapproving mother, from his responsibilities and eventually prison. So this is why I think Diego s
taxi jobs are important, because they give him freedom for short amounts of time, the posters he saw
are important, because he believes there is freedom out there, and that s his drive. And it s also why I
think Diego s old life is important, because it s the freedom he wants to get back to, after having it

Global Citizenship And The Rights Of Women
Global Citizenship and the Rights of women
Global Citizen
A Global citizen is someone who identifies with being part of an emerging world community and
whose actions contribute to building this community s values and practices. (Kosmosjournal.org,
2016). Global citizens are all of us who identify with taking action against world issues. Global
Citizenship (cosmopolitism) looks at us as needing to be patriotic to our nation state, but also needing
to put humanity and the greater good globally first, its an ability to see themselves as not simply
citizens of some local region or group but also, and above all, as human beings bound to all other
human beings by ties of recognition and concern: as citizens of the world . (Nussbaum, 2004, p.45).
Rights and Responsibilities
As global citizens we must know our goals in order to know what responsibilities we have we have
drifted apart, and forgotten our shared destiny (...). But the burdens of global citizenship continue to
bind us together. (Obama, 2008), we must enable ourselves as global citizens to understand the issues
plaguing our world and look at these issues ethically, morally, and socially. We as global citizens have
the responsibility for advocating greater justice in the world, this type of advocating needs to be
demonstrated and is exemplified in a major issue currently plaguing our world relating to women s
rights and the inequality women face in many countries. Women s rights are human rights and are

Analysis Of Walt Whitman s Dracula And Bram Stoker s...
For the past century, Walt Whitman has inspired people with his literary work by addressing his views
and expectations to the future generation. Not only was his circular connection relating the reader to
his poems, but the realistic truths and observations in these poems revealed deep confessions, which
affected the reader s personal feelings and opinions. Expanding further than American readers and
writers, Whitman had established an impact worldwide. Writers such as Oscar Wilde and Bram Stoker,
two Irishmen that know of Whitman s writings through the poet s popularity growing up as children
and young adults, had become advocates of the controversial topics Whitman wrote about. Wilde and

The simplest, most natural, and strongest character I have ever met in my life , in his biographical

philosophical pieces created by Wilde, which stray away from his typical beauty over content persona.
More specifically, Whitman like ideas can be seen in Wilde s poem Humanitad in comparison to
Whitman s Song of Myself . Humanitad begins with the contrast of the seasons of spring and winter,
but goes in depth with the contrast of the Greek Gods and the Christian God, leaving readers in
philosophical questioning about religious beliefs. Though Humanitad does remain true to Wilde s
common, beautiful writing style, there is deeper meaning to his words. Song of Myself discusses the
importance of finding one s self through observation and nature, as well as the connectivity between
all types of people in the continuous circle life makes. The writing style of Wilde s Humanitad do not
reflect Whitman s, but the topics of nature, death, and life are all the main focuses of both pieces. In
comparison, Song of Myself and Humanitad both use nature as a way to link main ideas together for
the reader. For example, Whitman uses nature in a metaphysical sense to explain his place in the
world, while Wilde uses nature as an aesthetic tool that

Theme Of A Chimney Sweeper And We Wear The Mask
Two stories with the same storyline, but a different outcome in both. They portray their timelines
perfectly; the two stories are William Blake s A Chimney Sweeper and Paul Laurence Dunbar s We
Wear the Mask . The two come from similar backgrounds of hard times, but have different outlooks on
their situations. One story coming from the time of separation and inequality while the other coming
from a time where kids grew up quickly and lived in a dangerous time. One hid their emotions while
the other had a dream and rethought their whole situation and realized that life was not that bad at all.
The setting of both these stories, or theme, starts out mostly depressing, and Chimney Sweeper it gets
better, but in Paul s story it does not. The themes that spoke to me in these stories is William Blake s
was honest and truthful, while Paul s story was people pretending and lying to the society around
them. In both stories, they start out awful where one is a story of kids who are put through tough work
and contemplate ending their lives and then the other they are being looked down on and they put up a
facade to show people they do not care, since even if they did show something nobody would change
anything. Both stories come out sad and give glimpse of how life was when the writers were living.
For Blake s story, they had a change of heart and they were honest with each other that even though
life is rough they do not have that hard of life. On the other hand, for Paul they

De Aeternitate Mundi By St. Thomas Aquinas
In De Aeternitate Mundi, St. Thomas Aquinas postulates whether the world could have always existed
and whether God could have caused the world to begin existing. Initially, St. Thomas Aquinas posits
that if either an eternal or temporal world is possible, then it is impossible to conclude that the world is
definitely eternal or created in time without divine revelation. Basically, Aquinas is saying that both
worlds are possible.
The eternity of the world argument is this if it be impossible that something caused by God has always
existed, it will be so either because God could not make something that has always existed or because
such a thing could not be made, regardless of God s ability to make it. Basically, if the world could not

Since nothingness is followed by existence in time, then there existed an instance when existence was
nothing. Thus, there was a certain time that the world did not exist. In contrast, Aquinas states Rather
it suffices that non being be prior to being by nature. Now, whatever naturally pertains to something in
itself is prior to what that thing only receives from another. Essentially, Aquinas is positing that if an
order is affirmed it is due to nature and not time. To say that X is made from nothing means that it is
not made from anything. Further, Aquinas states, A creature does not have being, however, except
from another, for, considered in itself, every creature is nothing, and thus, with respect to the creature,
non being is prior to being by nature. Essentially, Aquinas postulates that non being precedes being by
nature because something needs to be caused by something else. Further, Aquinas asserts, the nature
of the creature is such that, if the creature were left to itself, it would be nothing. Aquinas is saying
that if something in itself is considered you can consider it nothing because it cannot cause itself.
Additionally, Aquinas uses the example of the sun illuminating an object, the air, demonstrating that

Americans males who are 25 years of age or older have at least a high school diploma, but just 34% of

The Importance Of Cultural Competence In Nursing
Cultural competence is a set of attitudes and behaviors which make an organization run effectively
and judiciously. This competence allows many different cultures to work non offensively and
professionally in various situations. (Flowers, 2004) Cultural competence involves many different
factors. These factors include actions, communications networks, dialects, human activities, morals,
and religious views. People can successfully be culturally competent when they consciously and
deliberately function in a group with multi cultural circumstances and respect those differences.
(Flowers, 2004)
Cultural competence is critical in nursing care. Today s healthcare providers must adapt patient care to
be in consistent and compatible with the patient s culture and values. Nurses can enlarge and advance
their knowledge of culture through many sources. There are many sources that nurses can turn to for
education and general information: articles, internet resources, seminars and books. (Flowers, 2004)

Monoamine Theory
Monoamines are neurotransmitters that include serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine.
Numerous antidepressant drugs increase synaptic levels of serotonin, but they also enhance the levels
of the neurotransmitters, norepinephrine and dopamine. In the body there is another monoamine called
monoamine oxidase that has the effect of breaking down serotonin and norepinephrine. Therefore, by
blocking the effect of the monoamine oxidase, there is a increase of synaptic concentrations of
monoamines and te symptoms of depression are relieved. This discovery led to the monoamine
hypothesis of depression over 30 years ago, which proposes that the underlying biological basis for
depression is a deficiency of central noradrenergic and serotonergic systems and that targeting this
neuronal lesion with an antidepressant would tend to restore normal function in depressed patients. A
class of drugs known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) have this effect. However, although
helpful to many patients, the monoamine theory of depression does t address othes issues such as why
antidepressants can treat panic disorders, OCD etc. and why enhacing monoamine concentrations isn t
always effective in treating depression. (1) (2) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Does Priestley Present Inequality In An Inspector Calls
In 1944 the play An inspector calls was created and was set in 1912. During this time period men were
noted to be superior to women, as they represented the family as their last name would be the family s
surname. Priestly explains the idea of inequality in the play an inspector calls through social statuses
and classes. The head of the family Mr Birling, has a bourgeoisie like attitude meaning that he is of a
high status and most presumably right wing. Inequality is shown when Eva Smith and her work mates
ask for a pay rise, Mr Birling rejects as he does not want increase their wage even though he can
afford to do so as the cut will not intervene with him financially, in fact Arthur Birling feels the need
to repress the workers of his company otherwise he believes they will develop class consciousness and
become greedy and they would soon be asking for the earth , and in the theory of Marxism they would

The Life of a Woman
Sexuality is a complicated and essential part of the human experience. However,
expression of female sexuality has been perceived as a threat to men throughout history by many
societies and thus repressed. This, coupled with the objectification of women, culminates in a
female struggle to be recognized and treated as a human. This conflict is apparent throughout
different time periods, as seen in both Cruel Story of Youth and The Life of Oharu . Cruel
Story of Youth takes place in 1960 and focuses on Kiyoshi and Mako, a couple trying to find

I m Finally Out Of That Goddam Place
I m finally out of that goddam place. The dumb psychoanalyst guy kept asking me the same questions
over and over again. They made me crazy. Well, now all I have to figure out is where to go. I could go
to Hollywood to visit my brother D.B, I could go home to phoebe, or I could also go to central park
and see if the ducks are still there. Making the decision made me feel depressed.
Boy, I really missed those ducks; I still don t know where they go in the winter. It interests me. It
really does.
Anyway, I decided to give my brother D.B a buzz. It s been a long time since we ve talked. With all of
the movie star stuff, I guess he doesn t have time to spend with us. He finally answered the phone after
I d rang about a million goddam times.
Yeah he said. That killed me; he answered the phone like he was a hotshot. It was like he was busy
and didn t want to talk to anyone.
Hey D.B it s me, Holden .
Oh... Hey what s up? . He said that like he was expecting someone else.
Nothing really, just wanted to know if you could come and have a goddam drink with me.
Sorry Holden, I ll probably be busy for another week or two, I don t really have time he said. Of
course he was busy. Ever since he s gone to Hollywood, he acts like he can t even be seen with us.
That prostitute has a really busy schedule.
It s ok, maybe next time, bye .

The Diving Bell And The Butterfly
1. How do stroke survivors (or others with a chronic illness) and health care providers remain hopeful
and realistic ? What values are involved in maintaining hope while being realistic?
I believe the way individuals who suffer from chronic illness or are recovering from incidences,
remain hopeful and realistic by utilizing their support system, understanding that progress cannot
occur overnight, and by reveling in the small accomplishments which are motivating. In the book, The
Diving Bell and The Butterfly, initially we see Jean Dominique pitying himself and remember what

2. Those with a devastating illness often have a need to tell their stories. How can others ensure that
they are able to tell their stories, and how does telling one s story impact the way patients are treated?
Sometimes listening is the best way to help someone out. I believe that someone would be able to
make sure a person story was told by listening and possibly sharing the experience with others. In the
case of Jean Dominique, he utilized a book contract he had before the accident to express his story.
Through this book I could visual all the amazing traveling expeditions he went on. When he talked
about walking down the street of Lourdes and seeing all the people making their way down this path
hoping for a miracle, it struck me. He was able to discuss this event and relate it to his current
predicament. I feel like in other instances, a person can tell their stories through vocal recordings,
speaking with loved ones, creating illustrations, or even sharing pictures. A person might take part in
one of those activities and then ask or make note of their wishes for those stories to be shared. My
grandmother passed not too long ago, and I know that whenever I get a change I try to talk about her
life and even try to learn more about the experiences she had. When I learn of new things about her, I
am always dying to share the information with others because I want others to know and

Essay On Cherokee Indian Removal
Two out of three people are discriminated everyday. Giving someone equal rights does not infringe or
take away rights from them, it just makes it illegal to enforce your prejudice and hate. British
statesman and philosopher Edmund Burke once said, Those who don t know history are destined to
repeat it. He also said, All that s necessary for the forces of evil to win in the world is for enough good
men to do nothing. During the Cherokee Indian Removal, the Cherokee Indians were forced to be
removed by the U.S. troops because of discovery of gold leading them to be removed, and
discrimination towards the Cherokees. First the U.S. troops wanted to remove all Cherokees because
of the discovery of gold. In this situation, the Cherokees had valuable land that could be used for
farming. This would benefit the White Americans in a way to sell goods. Later, the White Americans
had found gold on Cherokee Territory, making it another reason why Andrew Jackson, wanted to
remove the Cherokees. Gold was so rare at the time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It was common for the artist to paint several versions of a subject, rethinking the composition and the
quality of the painting in the process; this was the case with Poussin s two paintings of The Abduction
of the Sabine Women , which he created around 1633. Both paintings, with their strongly opposing
diagonals, are illustrations of the dynamic and self confident style that Poussin adopted for many of
his scenes from earliest history. Poussin perhaps used the small stages with wax figures and carefully
arranged curtains, described by his colleagues. In his painting Eliezer and Rebecca at the Well created
in 1648, he used the same technic. In his late works Poussin may well have used such a stage to plan
the rigorous composition of Saints Peter and John Healing the Lame Man ,a painting from about 1655
that shows the artist responding to the striking and solid classicism of Raphael s The School of
Athens. Poussin was much precise in his work: after reading of the primary sources, he made an initial

Central America, but one of the poorest. The Mayan ruins at Copán are the remains of a civilization
that flourished there between the fourth and ninth centuries AD. Christopher Columbus landed in
Honduras on his last voyage in 1502. In search of gold and silver, the Spanish conquered the land
beginning in 1524. Within twenty years, the native population decreased to only eight thousand due to
disease, abuse, and slave trade with other countries. Central America, freed itself from Spanish rule in
1821. Honduras, however, did not become independent until 1838. Dictators ruled the country almost
like a communist country and there have been an estimate of about three hundred national rebellions,
civil wars, and many changes of government since then. A number of civilians have been elected

The Advertisement For Campari Liquor
In the Advertisement for Campari liquor featuring Eva Mendes, there are numerous components and
employed techniques that both enhance and alter the way the audience perceives it. One of the first
aspects of this image is the way light is strategically used. In the background of the scene, we see light
peaking through a somewhat ominous over cast sky. The lack of light in some areas of the sky gives
sets the scene as mysterious and malicious. The light peeking through the clouds however provides a
sense of glory and power. Light is also used to highlight the models skin, particularly on Mendes. This
alongside with the light that is shining behind Mendes gives her a seductive and mystical appearance.
Lastly, a small sparkle of light can be seen on the top of the bottle of Campari. This draws attention to
the bottle and also pairs it with Mendes giving it an alluring and enchanting essence as well.
Alongside with light, color also plays a subtle, yet significant role in the audience s perception of the
ad. The dress worn by Mendes is a creamy off white color. This color reflects light and combined with
the highlights on her skin gives Mendes an imperious and elegant glow. The off white color also
portrays a sense of innocence however an innocence that is not entirely pure. Another prominent color
in this ad is red. The red found on the bottle of Campari is paired with the red ropes are used by

there is still a downward trend of the return.
According to the 2010 annual report of SSF, 72.43% of SSF balance was deposited into local bank, the
remaining proportion was entrusted to fund managing company for only low risk investments. Under
the fix rate hedging between MOP and HKD, the interest rate of Macau is close to interest rate in
Hong Kong, which is similar to US interest rate. Since the 2008 financial crisis, Fed has applied the
ultra low interest rate and the interest rate is believed to be maintained until 2014. So, a 72.43% of
deposit in an investment portfolio is reasonably considered as inefficient.

considered as supplement of social security and thus expected to transfer the scheme into regular
subsidies.

visual disorder and it can also be caused by how people are able to hear sounds by how it goes through
their brain (Jost 1079). There are many different things that can cause dyslexia. The most common

Queen Margaret Critical Analysis
Queen Margaret: The Portrait of Fortune s Fool Through advancing the play s dramatic, thematic and
political growth, Queen Margaret is a force to be reckoned with in William Shakespeare s Richard III.
She affects the play dramatically through creating foreshadowing and contributing to Richard s
character development. Thematically, Margaret deepens the play s central views by demonstrating the
wheel of fortune s merciless nature, the futility of human prowess against fate s plans, and that
conscience is a dangerous device. By contrast, Margaret holds little political influence throughout
Richard III, due to her fallen status. Her impact in instigating these developments is crucial to the play
as a whole, and throws the concept of guilt, fate, and divine knowledge into question. It is expected
that Queen Margaret a former queen of England, cast aside by the York family after her husband s
death holds almost no political power in the play. Her lack of influence successfully highlights the
play s undertones focused on powerless female suffering, matching the misogynistic views dominant
in Elizabethan society. Margaret s voice is oppressed by others, evident when Richard scoffs, Foul
wrinkled witch, what mak st thou in my sight? (1.3.162 163). Margaret has reached rock bottom; she
is viewed as a pariah, serving as nothing more than a nuisance. Therefore, her pathetic standing with
the court exhibits her loss of political influence, exemplified further when Margaret

Summary Of The Meaning Of Liberal Education
The Meaning of Liberal Education In the article, The Meaning of Liberal Education , the author
Robert A. Scott explores what the purpose of a liberal arts education is and how it is connected to
making students more aware of their world. Scott conveyed that a liberal education provides a broad
exposure to be shared by all students no matter their major. He feels that a liberal education will
expose the student to the world in which we live. According to Scott, by experiencing a liberal
education, the student is able to find questions behind the answers. He stated that history, imagination,
and compassion are three essential subjects which need to be discovered during the process of
obtaining an education. He feels that too many adults lack the skills to understand the dynamics of
culture and how people interact. After discussing the matter with several professionals, Scott was
surprised to find that many employers felt that individuals lacked subject matter knowledge.
Internships were considered to be ideal for preparing adults for their future. By receiving internships,
the adults would be well rounded. It is thought that by receiving a liberal education, a citizen can
acquire a network of fellow students and alumni that they can use throughout their careers and also
their social life. Scott is of the opinion that a liberal education nurtures the ability to differentiate
between what is true and what is false and an individual can grow intellectually and teach an

The Paranormal Activity, Saw, and the Walking Dead series are thought to be some of the best horror
films and thrillers. Some people who might not like horror genre might wonder why people are
watching these productions. Sharon Begley from The Daily Beast identifies in her article Why Our
Brains Love Horror Movies, that people are watching these movies because horror genre movies give
audiences a powerful feeling of emotional and emphasize old fashioned belief about morality (Begley,

nanometer scale and the ability to move individual atoms at the IBM Almaden laboratory, we are fast
approaching the technological ability to fabricate productive machines and devices that can

He was inspired by Nobel laureate Richard Feynman s 1959 lecture, There s Plenty of Room at the
Bottom, about miniaturization down to the atomic scale. Since then, Drexler has written numerous
other books on the subject, such as Unbounding the Future, and has founded the Foresight Institute,
which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the responsible development of nanotechnology. It hosts
conferences and competitions to raise the awareness of nanotechnology and the ethical issues involved
in its development.
Today, nanotechnology research and development is quite wide spread, although not high profile yet.
Numerous universities, such as Univ. of Washington and Northwestern Univ., have established centers
and institutes to study nanotechnology, and the U.S. government has created an organization, the
National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI), to monitor and guide research and development in this
field. In fact, as noted in an April 2001 Computerworld article, the Bush administration increased
funding to nanoscale science research by 16% through its National Science Foundation (NSF) budget

largest sources of funding for nanotechnology research and have an enormous influence on the
direction of scientific research done in the United States. With so many resources dedicated to its
development, nanotechnology will surely have an impact within our lifetime, so it is

The Transnational Security Threats from Failed States
Failed and weak states are posing greater security threats to the world than it were ever imagined. The
collapse of autonomy and sovereignty among states is therefore a susceptible situation in the modern
world. Developed states like the United States and other notable security sensitive nations are focusing
their security efforts towards the failed states. This is mainly because these weak states have become
breeding sites for criminal activities, and terrorist groups have established strong bases in such
countries. The challenges posed by these failed states on security issues are far reaching, and reliable
measures have to be taken in order to safeguard the safety of the global population. Many forms of

The transitional crime groups which perpetrate international security threats have diverse networks,
whose operational offices are mainly located in failed states( Shahar, 2007). Thus, corruption and
unmonitored state operations can lead to encourage transnational insecurity, thus challenging the
traditional security concerns.
Peace and stability has been affected by resource wars in the world. Failed states which are well
endowed with natural resources lack the proper resource management strategies, a factor that leads to
insecurity ( Mittelman, 2010). Many criminal groups have used the advantage of weak economic and
political policies in failed resources to exploit natural resources. The proceeds from this illegal trading
are used to stage wars and arm rebel groups. In return, when the rebel groups are economically
empowered by the failed states, they perpetrate crimes which have global significance. For example,
the resource wars in Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan have led to genocides. In addition, the
diamonds in Sierra Leone and Angola have led to transnational bloodshed in the West African region
as well as the Janjaweed group in Darfur used illegal oil proceeds to perpetrate civil wars that have
claimed millions of life( Mittelman, 2010). Therefore, the lack of proper management of natural
resources in failed states has compromised the traditional security concerns in the world.

The Dutch in the Caribbean
Assess the contributions of the Dutch to the development of the Caribbean.
The incorporation of the Dutch into the Caribbean during the latter half of the 16th century and early
17th century came on the heels of them seeing the prosperous economic opportunities at the time
dominated by the Spanish. In the Caribbean, the Dutch concentrated on wrestling from Portugal its
grip on the sugar and slave trade through attacks on the Spanish treasure fleets on their homeward
bound voyages.
Though the prime and most active time for the Dutch in the Caribbean lasted for about one hundred
years, they were able to damage the monopoly the Spanish blissfully enjoyed by their; privateering

According to the Dutch innovators, sugar was best grown on land that was near the coast where the
soil was naturally yellow and fertile. The sugar colonies of Barbados and Jamaica grew to become
jewels of the British Empire during the 1700s. The sugar cultivated on the plantations sweetened the
teas of Europeans in the 17th century.
Evidently, sugar needed capital which the small planters of the eastern Caribbean did not have, but the
Dutch came to the rescue by supplying credit. A Dutch merchant would put up the capital on the
security of the crop. In this way many planters started. The Dutch took over the export and sale of the
crops in return for providing the initial capital. Here we see the Dutch concocting a deal with planters
who are not entirely financially equip to sustain a sugar plantation by offering loans on credit to
planters in return the Dutch exported and sold the cultivated sugar back to Europe.
Furthermore, early sugar plantations had an extensive use of slaves because sugar was considered as a
cash crop, and it was most efficiently grown on large plantations with many workers. As a result,
slaves were imported from Africa to work on the sugar plantations, the Dutch responded to the needs
of the plantations in the Caribbean by supplying the labor that was needed following the failure of
previous labor systems used on the British and French colonies such as the use of indigenous

unique characters called champions . League practically defines the new age of real time strategy

Conditt). Not only is that blatant sexism, it goes on that the single female pro league player has issues
with her gender in the NA LCS as, people also levy cruel and gender based insults at her in forums
and on social media, and she s had to deal with invasive questions about her personal life (Jessica

  • 2. The Situation Of Sub Saharan Migrant Women It is a tragic situation. Sub Saharan migrant women in these circumstances are subject to additional abuse of their human rights. African women are often exploited. A majority of reports on migration into Morocco on to Europe involve trafficking of women (Anyadike, 2015). Many women seek financial security in the form of a sponsor, usually from a man who will accompany and support them. But this type of aid has negative effects, it has caused a stressing issue that creates debt bondage in which they must pay off most commonly through sex work (Anyadike, 2015). Article four of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights prohibits slavery, another unethical practice that Africans have resorted to is in direct violation of the human rights. Again, it is rooted in the weakness of the migrants. Most that participate in sex work have no other options. And those who perpetrate this exploitation have created an unbreakable cycle, forcing African women to be in debt for as long as they can draw it out for. This problem is not going away with the industry of sex trafficking well and live alive, even today; the issue is expanding. And solutions are hard to come by, especially when the parties involved are limited with incentives or resources to help. It seems that the Moroccan population is unlikely to work towards a solution to the human rights abuse of the foreigners. On the other end, the Africans in the unethical, poor state that they are in are helpless. But is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Reliability Based Cost Model Essay Reliability Based Cost Model Development As it is of December 2017, AWST contracts Romax for wind farm Operation and Maintenance costs estimates. The motivation for contracting Romax instead of performing an estimate ourselves is that Romax can do a better job than AWST due to a larger database of failure modes and deeper expertise. Due to this reason, AWST does not have a model that could have ingested the data even if it was available that is an additional barrier for in house cost model. This memo will lay down the difficulties and the way to overcome them to create an in house reliability based cost model. An additional benefit of pursuing reliability statistics is the enhanced suitability review that could flag potential component ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For a numerical implementation, this equation can be written in vector matrix form below. ψ(P ⃗ )=f^1 (P ⃗ )+∫_T▒〖ψ(P ⃗ )K((P ) ⃗,P ⃗ )d(P ) ⃗ 〗 ψ(P ⃗ )= event density for a state vector P at time t. f^1 (P ⃗ ) = first state probability ψ(P ⃗ ) = event density at time t K((P ) ⃗,P ⃗ )= state transition kernel. This equation looks complicated but it is based only on the Weibull failure distribution and Markov matrices process which some people of our team are very familiar with. Alternatively, a simple Monte Carlo simulation for two states up and down can be calculated using the Weibull failure distribution described below. Developing an algorithm to process the time in operating, failing, and failed condition for each of the components is the key element for the cost modeling. This effort should go in parallel with obtaining the Weibull distributions for each of the components described below. A feedback should be obtained from Brian Kramak and Stephen Lightfoote to quantify the time and effort required for developing Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithm. Weibull Distribution Most of the failure modes follow a two parameter Weibull failure distribution as shown below. F(t)=1 exp[ (t/η(X) )^β ] η(X)=characteristic life (scale parameter) β=Weibull slope (shape parameter) β is obtained through Weibull Log fit from field data. η(X) is obtained through fitting a Weibull Log Linear model (also known as Weibull regression or Weibull proportional hazards). ... Macbeth Play Vs Movie Essay One of the most famous Shakespearean plays today, which wasn t popular back in the Elizabethan era because of the violence shown in the murder of the king, is Macbeth. This is a play about the struggle for power, through mostly violent means. The two film versions that we watched as a class were two very different depictions of the play. Rupert Goold s film from 2010 (to be referred to as Film A), even though it is the same play, was in my opinion less enjoyable than Geoffrey Wright s film (to be referred to as Film B), which was an older film, made in 2015. There were many things that were different about these two films, and these differences can change a person s general view towards this play. Of the many differences, the most prominent ones that affect our liking towards the play include the setting of the scenes and the depiction of characters. ... I think this is what Rupert Goold was trying to portray because it added more to the dark theme of murder along with a more political view which strengthens the theme of power. These scenes had very old props in the background, even the castles were gloomy and ominous. However, this darkness was best shown in the scene of Duncan s murder in which Macbeth comes out with bloody daggers in hand; no actual scene with violence was shown in this film, making it (somewhat) appropriate for all ages. Even the scene of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth s encounter showed less inappropriate actions as most other films, such as Film B, had shown. I am not supporting these actions but they are fundamental for a more realistic film version of Macbeth. Film A just didn t have that. Finally, everything else in this film was enjoyable and well done such as the camera angles and close ups. These were done when necessary to add dramatic effects especially when Macbeth kills ... Basically, Aquinas is saying that both worlds are possible. Numerous antidepressant drugs increase synaptic levels of serotonin, but they also enhance the levels of the neurotransmitters, norepinephrine and dopamine. Therefore, by blocking the effect of the monoamine oxidase, there is a increase of synaptic concentrations of monoamines and te symptoms of depression are relieved. This discovery led to the monoamine hypothesis of depression over 30 years ago, which proposes that the underlying biological basis for depression is a deficiency of central noradrenergic and serotonergic systems and that targeting this neuronal lesion with an antidepressant would tend to restore normal function in depressed patients. It was common for the artist to paint several versions of a subject, rethinking the composition and the quality of the painting in the process; this was the case with Poussin s two paintings of The Abduction of the Sabine Women , which he created around 1633. Both paintings, with their strongly opposing diagonals, are illustrations of the dynamic and self confident style that Poussin adopted for many of his scenes from earliest history. Poussin perhaps used the small stages with wax figures and carefully arranged curtains, described by his colleagues. In his painting Eliezer and Rebecca at the Well created in 1648, he used the same technic. In his late works Poussin may well have used such a stage to plan the rigorous composition of Saints Peter and John Healing the Lame Man ,a painting from about 1655 that shows the artist responding to the striking and solid classicism of Raphael s The School of Athens. • 35. Queen Margaret Critical Analysis Queen Margaret: The Portrait of Fortune s Fool Through advancing the play s dramatic, thematic and political growth, Queen Margaret is a force to be reckoned with in William Shakespeare s Richard III. She affects the play dramatically through creating foreshadowing and contributing to Richard s character development. Thematically, Margaret deepens the play s central views by demonstrating the wheel of fortune s merciless nature, the futility of human prowess against fate s plans, and that conscience is a dangerous device. By contrast, Margaret holds little political influence throughout Richard III, due to her fallen status. Her impact in instigating these developments is crucial to the play as a whole, and throws the concept of guilt, fate, and divine knowledge into question. It is expected that Queen Margaret a former queen of England, cast aside by the York family after her husband s death holds almost no political power in the play. Her lack of influence successfully highlights the play s undertones focused on powerless female suffering, matching the misogynistic views dominant in Elizabethan society. Margaret s voice is oppressed by others, evident when Richard scoffs, Foul wrinkled witch, what mak st thou in my sight? (1.3.162 163). Margaret has reached rock bottom; she is viewed as a pariah, serving as nothing more than a nuisance. Therefore, her pathetic standing with the court exhibits her loss of political influence, exemplified further when Margaret ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He feels that a liberal education will expose the student to the world in which we live. According to Scott, by experiencing a liberal education, the student is able to find questions behind the answers. He stated that history, imagination, and compassion are three essential subjects which need to be discovered during the process of obtaining an education. He feels that too many adults lack the skills to understand the dynamics of culture and how people interact. After discussing the matter with several professionals, Scott was surprised to find that many employers felt that individuals lacked subject matter knowledge. Internships were considered to be ideal for preparing adults for their future. By receiving internships, the adults would be well rounded. It is thought that by receiving a liberal education, a citizen can acquire a network of fellow students and alumni that they can use throughout their careers and also their social life.
