Canadian Tires
1. What is BI and how can it help Canadian Tire? In the case there are 10 common challenges of BI
implementations, which of these would you rate as most important for Eubanks and Wnek at CTC, and
why? How would you address them? Business Intelligence (BI) is the consolidation and analysis of
internal data and / or external data for the purpose of effective decision making. At the core of all BI
initiatives is a data warehouse to hold the data and analytics software. The data warehouse stores data
from operational systems in the organization and restructures it to enable queries and models to extract
decision support reports. The primary objective of BI was to support and enable business and IT
strategies at CTC. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
CTC IT was largely seen as a hardware provider and manager but not as a strategic business partner.
3. Compare the exhibits that depict the current versus the future desired BI infrastructure. What
challenges exist for the implementation of the BI initiative?
Fig: Current BI Environment In this figure, there are two sources of information for business: 1).
Information from IW, which has passed through the ETL process before it goes to the end users. 2.)
Information from independent data sources, which is processed by different standards. This is counter to
the strategic goal of eliminating duplication of analysis, reporting and ad hoc analysis. This
environment consumes more time for business users to understand end user data, and more money for
the firm which is wasted on different and possibly conflicting results.
Fig: Future BI Environment
This figure illustrates the future of BI for CTC. Independent data sources have been incorporated into a
single BI system, within a global data model. All data will be loaded into corporate EDW via ETL. The
EDW will feed the financial data mart for enterprise performance management, so business users will
be able to conduct planning and budgeting functions. On the right side of the EDW, BI specialists will
assist in organizing data marts into four categories: Supply Chain, Vendor,

Color Guard Speeches
What is color guard? Color guard is a true test to physical strength and ability and it s where I spend
every waking hour trying to improve each toss, turn, and count. Color guard is where two, almost three
dozen girls spend most of our free time practicing something that will not get us a job. It won t pay us in
anything but joy. And as cliché as that sounds, it s true. Color guard will probably never give us more
than thousands upon millions of life lessons. Yet, we all still do it because we love it. Color guard is
striving to be the best you can be. It s socializing with some people you can t stand half the time
because somehow they became like family and mean more than the world to you. It s sacrificing so
many Fridays to do what you love. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You are the cause of all this pain. Sometimes there is a friend in your life that is more important to you
then you are to them, and that s perfectly normal, that s life. There are one or two friends like that in my
life. And I admit, once I realized that, or once they started ditching our plans for other people, it stung
for a little while, but I got over it. You are the cause of all this love. The reason the sting only hurt for a
little is because I remembered how these people are still always there for me when I need them to be. I
remembered how much fun we have when we do hang out. I remember how these people go out of their
way to make one of my bad days good. I remember that they think to do something as simple as asking
me if I ate that day because we have practice. I remember that at the end of the day if I REALLY need
someone, they will be there no matter what. You are the thing I can t forget. There are some people you
meet, some friendships you make, that are just irreplaceable. Sometimes you connect with someone so
strongly, so remarkably fast that nobody believes it. Sometimes you connect with someone that you
hated for years over something so small that even you have a hard time believing it. Another connection
I made with this piece is also with color guard. Color guard is the cause of all my muscle aches, back
aches, the reason I had to wear a knee brace for a week, the cause of half my frustration most of the
time, and also the reason I have bruises on possibly every single part of my body, but it s all worth it
because guard is something that I love with every ounce in my body. No matter how rough times get, I
know that I m still going to be at practice the next day, and the next, and the next, and the next. And

Why Is Critical Thinking Valuable
Why is critical thinking valuable? Every one think of that, each of people in the world are individual.

Military Narrative
The day started as another usual on Forward Operating Base (FOB) Zangabad. I had woken up to
ensure that my men had all of their sensitive items on them and report to my Squad Leader that they did.
On that day we were heading out to T.I. 2, a desolate array of Hesco barriers set up as an Afghan
Uniformed Police (AUP) Checkpoint. It was our Company s responsibility to partner with the AUP
down there to help protect T.I. 2 so that they can conduct their own patrols. It was located roughly a
thousand meters south of Fob Zangabad, and about five hundred meters east of the town of Gerandi.
Gerandi was the stronghold of the Taliban in that area, so T.I. 2 was key to disrupting their operations in
the surrounding area. So it was vital that we helped secure it for the AUP and watch the any activity

America s Fear Of Crime
America s fear of crime has developed an incarceration binge that has resulted in a disparity in America
s prisons, largely, affecting the underclass; dishonored groups caught in a symbiosis of the ghetto and
prison, meaning, that ghettos have become more like prisons, and so undermined the inmate society, as
such, turned prisons, more like ghettos; hence, developed a state wherein the criminal justice system is
the instrument to control the poor (Wacquant, 2010). Inevitably, societal isolation, constraints the
agency of the poor; their racial isolation develops environments, where residential instability, family
disruption and economic inequality facilitate marginality, unequivocally deprecating poor minorities life
chances. Largely, due to socioeconomic forces and manipulation of institutional arrangements by
powerful elites, which in turn, perpetuate the inmate disparity. Thus, maintains the underclass caste,
more succinctly, an American apartheid.
Accordingly, general consensus portrays inner cities (i.e. generally poor black neighborhoods), as the
apparatus of crime. In this view, crime emanates from the poor, and so generates an environment
credible fear that intensifies racism and frantic search for solutions in the form of draconian laws (e.g.,
zero tolerance, War on Drugs policies) that target the underclass and serve to advance formal social
control via prisons. Destitute minorities, disproportionately black and Latino, therefore, are convicted

The Themes Of St. Augustine s Confessions By Saint Augustine
Confessions
In the book Confessions by Saint Augustine, there are several themes throughout that describes
Augustine s thoughts and opinions of how to live responsibly. Augustine believes that God is the reason
for everything good that happens to one s life, which you are to praise him for. Augustine goes through
some tough situations, which he uses his life as a standard way of living or an example of what others
go through in their lifetime. He plainly states on several occasions that in everything you do needs to be
for the glory of God. This essay will outline the main themes referred in the passage of Book X, which
are find God later in one s life, seeking pleasure in worldly things, and understanding where the beauty
of the world comes from. Also, the essay will analyze his worldview that you shouldn t find pleasure in
worldly possessions and to praise God, and how it helps others live or have a responsible life.
There are several themes within the passage that shows Augustine s worldview. For example, in the first
line of the passage, he understands the concept of loving God later in life: I have learnt to love you late
(Conf. X.27). This quote suggests that Augustine is now able to see why is mother was so skeptical in
giving him is baptism early in his childhood. He commits to sin on numerous occasions, but comes back
to find God again. In Book II, Augustine s actions are paralleled with the prodigal son: I strayed still
farther from you and you did not restrain me.
I was tossed and spilled, floundering in the broiling sea of my fornication, and you said no word (Conf.
II.1). Augustine acted just as the prodigal son did by straying from God and being taken over by worldly
pleasures. As in the story, Augustine does come back to God and devotes himself to Him more than
ever. It can be reasonably inferred that God rejoices more in the people who were lost and then found
their salvation than to always be faithful towards Him. This suggests that God wants people to try and
do it on their own, making mistakes after mistakes, and then hitting rock bottom to perhaps humble one
in order to get their full attention to be placed on Him; this is what a responsible self looks like. In this
section, the theme

Mental Illness In Godwin s A Sorrowful Woman
In Godwin s story A Sorrowful Woman , the mother has a series of very complex feelings and emotions.
From the story, it can be inferred that this is a woman with a sudden onset of mental illness, a woman
who has lost her identity and sense of belonging; and a woman who is consciously aware of all this,
knowing she is a burden to her loved ones.
This mother shows signs of her mental illness almost right off the bat, when, after looking at her son,
she began yelping without tears, retching in between (39). The onset of this illness appears to be very
sudden. The story begins with One winter evening she looked at them....the sight of them made her so
sad and sick she did not want to see them ever again (39). It seems as if just one evening she suddenly
begins to feel this way. When the son says, It s alright Mommy (39), causing the father to respond
Mommy is sick (39), shows that the father did not have time to explain this to the son any time before.
There is no evidence given in the story as to what caused her mental illness, though we can infer that the
onset was quite sudden. Throughout the story, the woman is never identified, only being referred to as
the woman (40). So we never have a sense of her identity outside of the fact that she is a wife and a
mother with a mental illness. She also tries to find herself and her identity. She was a young queen, a
virgin in a tower, she was the previous inhabitant, the girl with all the energies. She tried these

Evolution Of Justice
How has justice evolved throughout world history?
When children are young they are expected to follow rules precisely and if they break a rule, then they
are typically forced to take a timeout. In a child s eyes, a time out is a horrible and miserable time when
they are compelled to think about what they did wrong. But even though a timeout is considered harsh
in the child s eyes it still establishes justice between the child who broke the rule and who was affected
by that child s choice. As the child grows older, it realizes that justice doesn t have to established
through a set of rules, but that justice can be achieved through kindness. In the same way, the idea of
justice has changed over time in the way of justice has become less strict ... Show more content on

In this example, Jesus is giving a sermon to people from various areas of Africa. Therefore, whoever
breaks even the smallest of the commandments and teaches others to do the same will be least in the
kingdom of heaven. On the other hand, whoever obeys the Law, and teaches others to do the same will
be great in the kingdom of heaven (The Sermon on the Mount 30 C.E.). This exemplifies that if one was
to break a commandment, he would face little to no severe punishment. Although the individual would
face little punishment, if they did nothing to make the situation right they would face punishment
spiritually or after death. However, Jesus did not only ensure punishment but also made good promises
for those who were obedient. (God speaking to Moses) From this you know that now, if you obey my
voice and hold fast to my covenant, you of all the nations shall be my very own for all the earth is mine.
I will count you a kingdom of priests, a consecrated nation (The Covenant Code, Exodus 20:19 23:33).
This portrays that those who did not obey God s covenant would not receive the good things that he
promised but they would, however, get away with facing little punishment physically. On the whole,
throughout history, justice becomes less about relentlessly punishing and following every rule word for
word but more about benefitting from being

The Great Depression And The New Deal Essay
The late 1930s were a time of great suffering and uncertainty in the United States. The country was
crippled by effects of the Great Depression; the result was a massive decline in jobs and economic
stability that dramatically impacted both rural and urban communities. Millions of Americans were out
of work, unable to support their families. State organizations and charities were unable to meet the
growing needs of the people and many were left to fend for themselves. The Great Depression brought
with it a legitimate, tangible fear about the future of America and its citizens. Upon the outcry of the
American people a New Deal was struck giving the citizens of America a lifeline of hope in the ever
growing State. The New Deal was a succession of programs, organizations and laws, enacted by
President Franklin D. Roosevelt, directly addressing the issues of jobs, welfare and uncertainty through
direct federal involvement. The creators of the New Deal worked across party lines to reshape the
norms of state involvement whilst making a great legislative effort to turn the declining economy
around. The New Deal reshaped the federal government s relationship with its citizens in a time of
economic uncertainty helping to grow the State in a time of peace. The state is best understood in
relation to a government s power, influence and involvement with citizens rights in a given territory.
The larger the state the more involved it is in the lives of its citizens.

instead of coming to me directly. As the new Practice Manager, I had made some changes and
implemented some rules that have to be followed by everyone but I was not aware that this was creating

Proud To Be A Canadian Citizen Essay

and the mistakes Canada has made in how they have treated different groups of people in the past.
Every Canadian citizen should know about Canada s Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which was

Her dream had one important line: Come to me, it sang without words. Find me. Join me. Save me...

At the ceremony with thousands of Tulim people Julian had the power, all eyes were on her, like the

one that can save her from Kirutu. She sang one song that changed everything. William defended Julian
and took her as a new wife. Nevertheless, Julian was finally accepted at the price of a war between two
brothers, three tribes, and the valley of Tulim. Overall, the story of Julian Carter is a breathtaking one.

Compare And Contrast O Brother Where Art Thou

also the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou. This is only one of the many similarities between these two
pieces. The Odyssey is about the great war hero Odysseus twenty year troublesome attempt to reach his

The motivation of Odysseus and Ulysses is extremely unlike one another. In The Odyssey, Odysseus is
on a journey home to restore his fame among the people of Ithica so he is not forgotten, while Ulysses
has received a letter from his wife stating that she is to get married. He breaks out of prison for his
family, rather than for his fame. He says to Pete and Delmar himself that there was never any treasure,
he only needed help to get home to his family. To Ulysses, family comes first, while Odysseus is in it
for the fame and glory. Also, the two are different due to their characterization as Odysseus is a war
hero, and Ulysses is a criminal. The two men are complete opposites and are very different in the ways
they behave, act, and in their general lifestyles. Odysseus was raised to be a great hero, to be
remembered, but Ulysses is just a simple criminal who really likes his hair products. Odysseus is even
helped by gods and goddesses such as Athena as, They threw spears as he bade them, but Athena made
them all of no effect (227). Ulysses has no help along his journey from others, he only faces struggles
throughout his entire odyssey. While the most powerful force in The Odyssey, the gods, helps Odysseus

Argumentative Essay On Electroconvulsive Therapy
NEED FOR THE STUDY Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is a safe and efficacious treatment; there is
a widespread negative view of electroconvulsive therapy in public and professional circles. Clinical
experience and research have resulted in continued improvements to the efficacy and safety of
electroconvulsive therapy. It is necessary to conduct research on this basis to modify the misconceptions
and prejudices about the electroconvulsive therapy8 Numerous studies have addressed the issue of
knowledge and attitude towards ECT not only among the patients and their relatives but also among the

The Doctrine Of Freedom Of Contract
The particular focus of this essay is on how terms are implied. This is central because the courts
intervene and impose implied terms when they believe that in addition to the terms the parties have
expressly agreed on, other terms must be implied into the contract. Gillies argued that the courts have
become more interventionist in protecting the rights of contracting parties thereby encroaching upon the
notion of freedom of contract. The doctrine of freedom of contract is a prevailing philosophy which
upholds the idea that parties to a contract should be at liberty to agree on their own terms without the
interference of the courts or legislature. Implied terms can be viewed as a technique of construction or
interpretation of contracts. It has been argued that the courts are interfering too much in their approach
to determine and interpret the terms of a contract. The aim of this essay is to explore this argument
further and in doing so consider whether freedom of contract is lost due to courts imposing implied
terms. The essay will outline how the common law implies terms. The final part of the essay will
examine whether Parliament, by means of a statute, or terms implied by custom restrict freedom in a
contract. An overall conclusion on the issue will be reached. On the one hand it is evident that terms
implied at common law can be implied in law or implied in fact . Terms implied as a matter of fact are

Nuclear Weapons And The United States
Since the nineteen forties nuclear weapons have been used to help end, or have caused problems
between countries. The dangers of using nuclear weapons have increased over the many years since
they were first used. Either way, the fight over nuclear weapons have become more and more common
because of the new developments in science and technology. The use of nuclear weapons have been
used to threaten many different countries around the world which include the United States and many

Just recently this issue has been noticed, yet we still ignore the problems that have happened. As the
world of technology has become more educated new nuclear weapons have been created, but they have
not been tested or used. The United States should aggressively promote nuclear disarmament because of

The Job Of Early Years Foundation Stage Class Teacher
It is with great interest and enthusiasm I apply for the job of Early Years Foundation Stage Class
Teacher.
After extensive and varied experience of working throughout St Michaels Catholic Primary School and
Cavendish Primary School, I would like to continue my career as a Foundation Stage, Class Teacher.
My current position, working as a full time Reception Class Teacher requires excellent communication
with children, other teachers, child care professionals and parents who often come from diverse cultural
backgrounds.
Patience and sensitivity are vital when communicating with adults and children in the school setting and

I record both, short and long observations of the children and alongside their drawings and photographs,
collate a learning journal, which is then shared with their parents. This allows me to plan activities that
interest and challenge the children and set the next steps for each child. This also encourages parents to
work in close partnership with the school. I undertake home visits each year. These visits enable me to
participate in the positive development of home school links. I also work in close partnership with the
school s SENCO and outside agencies, and so I am aware of children s varying needs from special
education needs to those who may be gifted and talented. I am familiar with children s IEP s and the
reviewing of their targets as I am involved in entering assessments into Classroom Monitor, the online
assessment tool.
Every half term, the children complete a summative assessment task, which I record on Classroom
Monitor and on our half termly trackers. I then use this data to track the progress of my children and
create an action plan to identify the next steps in learning for children. I use the information from case
studies to inform my future planning for the child. Due to the recent changes in the EYFS and EY
Profile, I summarise the Best Fit judgment concerning the age and stage that a child is working within.

Habeas Corpus Essay
The Right of Habeas Corpus and the War on Terror
Introduction
September 11, 2001 changed the United States forever. This disastrous attack on the Pentagon and the
twin towers at the World Trade Center destroyed the lives of thousands of people. Over 3,000 people
were killed, including hundreds or firefighters and policemen, many of which were never found. The
attackers were Islamic terrorists from Arab nations.
The war on terror declared by the Bush Administration, had become one of the most important issues in
the United States during that time and still is today. However, it did not always protect those that needed
to be protected. There was the detention of potential suspects who were held without the right to habeas

President Abraham Lincoln suspended the habeas corpus in Maryland and some Midwestern states due

corpus took place in the early 1870 s when President Ulysses S. Grand responded to civil rights
violations by the Ku Klux Klan (The Rutherford Institute).
Since the September 11th terrorists attacks, President Bush attempted several times to revoke the writ of
habeas corpus. An example would be denying the detainees of Guantanamo Bay habeas corpus by
granting him the power to be able to revoke habeas corpus for all citizens. By passing the Military
Commissions Act of 2006, habeas corpus was eliminated by allowing non citizen enemy combatants to
be held indefinitely in a military prison without access to a lawyer (The Rutherford Institute). Since that
time the denial of habeas corpus has been challenged.

The Collapse Of The European Union Essay
In the wake of two devastating European wars, there was a vague desire across Europe for more unity to
hopefully prevent yet another terrible conflict from breaking out. However, views over the proper scope
and implementation of any such unity were often divided between the philosophies of supranationalism
and intergovernmentalism. At different times, both ideas played a part in shaping the future European
Union, depending on the moods of European leaders and their constituents. Throughout the history of
postwar Europe, almost every major development toward supranational unity can be attributed to a
handful of powerful people. In fact, the first official institution of postwar European cooperation, the
ECSC, was founded by a few leaders of state. Robert Schuman, the French foreign minister, adopted
Jean Monnet s idea of merging French and German coal and steel production as a peaceful and
economically advantageous tool to prevent Germany from once again rising up against France and the
rest of Europe. Once Schuman had the idea, all that was needed to officially found the ECSC was the
Schuman Declaration and the consent of Germany s Chancellor Adenauer. Several years later, the next
big step in European integration came from the work of ECSC president Jean Monnet, as well as Paul
Henri Spaak, who both resolved to create stronger economic ties between the countries in the ECSC.
The immediate result was the formation of EURATOM, a cooperation agreement on the subject of

The Importance Of African Culture In Chinua Achebe s...
Chinua Achebe s most well known novel Things Fall Apart was defined by many as a modern piece of
African literature that was truly African. It became a major contribution to literature around the world.
The novel revolves around an Ibo village in Nigeria. The inclusion of African culture, such as the
language, stories, and way of life, create depth and dimension and are essential to the telling of the Ibo
story by Achebe. The certain Ibo words included in the novel help develop a taste for true African
culture. Without these words, Achebe would not have been able to explain himself as well as he did.
The words that are used in the english language differ greatly from the words used in Ibo language.
Achebe illustrates this when he writes, That was how Okonkwo first came to know that agbala was not
only another name for a woman, it could also mean a man who had taken no title (Achebe 13). In this
piece from the novel, it demonstrates that the special African word has a greater meaning than any
English word ever could. If Achebe were to just say the word woman in place of the word agabala,
many readers may become confused as to what he means. The word choice establishes what true
African culture is. The author demonstrates this principle of the difference of language on many
occasions throughout the novel such as, This man told him that the child was an ogbanje, one of those
wicked children who, when they died, entered their mothers wombs to be born again (Achebe 77) and

The principle of open justice is an essential part for creating public confidence in the judicial
administration process in the UK and has been for over a century. Thus, in Scott v Scott Lord Atkinson
provides that a public trial is the best security for the pure, impartial and efficient administration of
justice...and the best means for winning public confidence and respect . However, open justice is not an
absolute right, and there are circumstances where open court proceedings would defeat the object of the
case. Consequently, the family justice system has a range of court reporting restrictions which have in
effect restricted the open rule principle, but have prevented` people, in particular children, from being

family courts, are problematic for family proceedings when compared to being protective. Furthermore,
this essay will then analyse how the protective scope of court reporting restrictions in the family court

I really enjoyed the book because from the beginning it started giving background information about the
characters, which really helped me see how they became the person we see in the book. Also the book
does a wonderful job at painting pictures in your head. One part described the city as ... a ceaseless

Fear is an emotion that most everyone is familiar with. The psychological effects of fear are readily

What is needed, rather than running away or controlling or suppressing or any other resistance, is

Since anxiety is experienced commonly, it is important to be aware of the body s response. These effects
are completely normal, and act as a natural coping method of the body. The physical response to
phobias is a bit more extreme. The basic, minor effects begin with sweating, trembling, hot flashes or
chills, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, a choking sensation, rapid heartbeat, chest pain or a
feeling of tightness in the chest, and a sensation of butterflies in the stomach. These increase to
symptoms such as nausea, headaches and dizziness, feeling faint numbness or pins and needles, dry
mouth, ringing in your ears, and feeling confused or disorientated. Paranoia is similar, but manifests
itself through mainly psychological effects. Terror differs from anxiety and phobia in that there may be
lasting physical effects. The immediate response is an adrenaline rush called the fight or flight response.
When this is triggered, the person experiencing this intense fear will either face the problem head on, or

Asad s Theory Of White Norm And The Ku Klux Klan
White supremacy is a term that is traditionally defined as the belief that white people are superior to
those of all other races, especially the black race, and should therefore dominate society. White
supremacy is a deep seeded ideology that, throughout history, has impacted religion, theocracy and the
structure of our organizations. Although Christianity isn t inherently white supremacy, white supremacy
can be analyzed as a religious event, as it involves the power that is synonymous with religion and the
liminal state of traditional rites of passage. This paper will explain Asad s theory of power, summarize
Turner s account of liminality, and analyze white supremacy and the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) using these
two theoretical models.
White supremacy originated in the mid fifteenth century when the European powers began taking
African people as slaves in their quest for power and land. However, it wasn t until the late eighteenth
century when the theological association of Christianity and whiteness allowed white supremacy to take
on the cultural values consistent in Asad and Turner s theories. White supremacy then became
institutionally perpetuated and began to impact every facet of life. White supremacy has been used to
rationalize genocide, enslavement and prejudice. The Ku Klux Klan also became a representation of
white supremacy. The Ku Klux Klan saw its primary goal as the reestablishment of white supremacy
which became directly linked to white Protestant

Changing Picture of the Look of a Family
Introduction In the past there was a clear picture of what a family would typically look like. In today s
world it doesn t have to consist of a mother, a father and their biological children living together under
one roof. It can consist of just a grandfather and his grandson, because they are still considered family.
Throughout years families can create and indoctrinate new members. The power of the family is such
that despite the possible separation of members by vast distances, sometimes even death, the family s
influence remains (Goldenberg Goldenberg, p. 2, 2012). Even when a family member experiences a
temporary or permanent sense of alienation from the family, he or she can never truly relinquish family
membership (Goldenberg Goldenberg, p. 2, 2012). The family life cycle continuously evolves
throughout the years. Families continue to remain the foundation of most people s lives. They can
provide the security, support, and intimacy people need (Kirst Ashman Hull, p.329, 2012). Within
families there should always be structure. Family structure refers to the organization of relationships
and patterns of interaction occurring within the family. In addition, family structure will vary
dramatically depending from one family to another (Kirst Ashman Hull, p.334, 2012). As social
workers, we can work on a micro, mezzo and or macro level. We can encounter individual clients who
may initially have individual problems. However, we may have to go from a

Literary Devices In The Importance Of Being Earnest
Elinor Fuchs sees the play as a world that passes in front of the critic in time and space ; one that has
elements that must be understood (Fuchs, 2004, p 6). These elements closely resembles Aristotle s six
elements of a play plot, character, thought, diction, music and spectacle elements that are clearly
identifiable in Oscar Wilde s 1895 play The Importance of Being Earnest .
The play is divided into three scenes; acts as the author chooses to refer to them. The scene of these
actions is three different places: 1) a flat on a London city street Algernon Moncrieff s living quarters;
2) a manor house garden in Woolton where Mr. John Worthing, J.P and his charge Cecily Cardew live;
3) and the drawing room at the Woolton manor house, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before this direct reference, the theme has only been alluded to when we notice how keen Algernon is
in keeping Lane at his proper social place a servant who does not discuss his domestic issues with their
boss or social betters. Romance is clearly a theme that the play deals with and is introduced by the
caustic reference to the relationship between his cousin and Mr. Worthington My dear fellow, the way
you flirt with Gwendolen is perfectly disgraceful. It is almost as bad as the way Gwendolen flirts with
you clearly this cannot be anything else but love. The play is also very concerned about the issue of
extravagance. Algernon is an extravagant young man, a fact Mr. Worthington does not appreciate and
tries again and again to discourage when they discuss Algernon s culinary tastes. Through the various
comments by the characters the play reveals the authors cynicism towards the marriage institution
which he relentlessly attacks as the flippant in married households the champagne is rarely of a first rate
brand and through such play with words as divorce was made in heaven rather than marriages were
made in heaven .
Characters use a light hearted banter even as the issues they deal with are heavy Algernon accuses Lane
of pilfering through a light rhetorical banter Why is it that at a bachelor s establishment the servants
invariably drink the champagne? The soliloquy is used to deliver profound thoughts like where
Algernon claims rights for

Comparison Of Thomas Malthus And Garret Hardin Cycle Of...
Poverty is the discrepancy between the powers of reproduction and the ability to expand food
production. People are poor because there are too many of them, and they keep having children in spite
of their poverty. Poverty exists because of overpopulation. Providing relief to the poor will simply
encourage them to have more children. Poverty is an economic issue, and eliminating poverty will not
only benefit the individual, but will benefit the entire country. Both Thomas Malthus and Garret Hardin
proved poverty is the fault of the individual and therefore it is their responsibility to eliminate it.
Wealthy nations are not responsible for eliminating poverty among the poorer nations. To begin, poverty
goes hand in hand with overpopulation. Poor people choose to continue to reproduce which ultimately
leads to them continuing the cycle of poverty. The poor people are to blame for their poverty and it is
their job to reduce population and eliminate poverty. Malthus proves that poverty will always be with us
because of population increase. Poverty is the result of the poor people, who lack moral standards, and
refuse to change their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The population continues to increase geometrically while subsistence only increases arithmetically
(Malthus 325). The poor people start having families at a young age and continue to reproduce.
Essentially this leads to overpopulation, which in the long run leads to us occupying all of the land and
running out. This makes it harder for people in poverty to find work because so many people are
looking for jobs. Labor prices then cost less, but because of the lack of food the price for it goes up.
This ultimately leads to the poor people having to work more and harder to make money. Once they
make money, and are able to buy food and provide for their family, they believe they are well off which
leads to them reproducing and the poverty cycle starting all over again (Malthus

The Importance Of Florida Lawn Pests
For many homeowners, South Florida is a paradise where mere lawns and yards can become luscious
landscapes. But families aren t the only ones to enjoy the tropical outdoors. Florida outdoor pests can
endanger the grounds around your home. Controlling Florida lawn pests are an important part of South
Florida life.
Among the common kinds of Florida outdoor pests are chinch bugs, which can cause major plant
damage. Whiteflies often attack and even kill ficus trees and hedges by feeding on the undersides of
leaves. They ve become a major part of Florida yard pests and can cause plant leaves to yellow or drop
off entirely, often covering the plant with flocculent, a white sticky material.
Pink hibiscus flowers may be lovely in your yard, but the

`` My Dream `` By Brittany Maynard
My dream is that every terminally ill American has access to the choice to die on their own terms with
dignity. Please take an active role to make this a reality (qtd Brittany Maynard Fund ). Brittany Maynard
Diaz, a 29 year old woman who was diagnosed with Glioblastoma and only given six months to live,
turned her tragedy into a legacy when she chose to die with dignity. She became an advocate for the
Compassion and Choices End of Life Consultation or EOLC program by sharing her story and decision
with everyone in America in an effort to help give everyone in her situation the same options. She
believed in dying with dignity for the same basic reasons that many others do; constitutionally speaking,
it is within everyone s individual rights, it is an established medical practice used all over the world, and
no one should be forced to suffer needlessly. After researching her diagnosed form of cancer and
discussing her options with her family, any type of treatment given would only destroy the quality of
life during the time she had left to live. What would you do? Imagine going to the doctor after
numerous, severe headaches. The doctor performs a CT scan that reveals a rapidly growing brain tumor.
The doctor breaks down the information, reveals that the tumor is a rare form of cancer, and is
inoperable. Unfortunately, the doctor also relays the life expectancy with a cancer this rare and
aggressive; a few months at best and those short months will become increasingly

Joint Enterprise Ending Crime
Joint enterprise, ending crime or escalating jail rates? In this day and age crime is crazy, a leap in crimes
committed, the population is growing and so the demand for technology is increasing, this only results
in more crime, more criminals and more witnesses. Joint enterprise is a new law recently re introduced
aiming to reduce the amount of criminals but ended up punishing the innocent witnesses. Joint
enterprise is a topic in which experts have been debating about for a long time. Some believe that joint
enterprise is a form of human rights abuse whereas others think it is just. Imagine an innocent bystander
accused for something they didn t do, imagine their families devastated by the news and their mothers
tears, parents losing their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a major factor of why the joint enterprise is bad. Joint enterprise usually convicts the wrong
people sending them to jail, devastating families, filling up jails all coming out of our tax money. Think
about it, whenever you see the facts of people going to jail, not all of them are criminals. For example
the case Derek Bentley, a vulnerable teenager, who was hanged despite public outrage in 1953 after
being convicted of murder under joint enterprise law as he was accused of murdering a police officer.
His conviction was overturned almost fifty years later exclusively due to the efforts of his sister Iris. His
sister Iris made a massive campaign, which was initially led by Derek s parents until they died, which
led to his remains being removed from Wandsworth Prison and reburied in a family grave. There are
many cases just like this such as the case of Jasbir Takhar who on the 5th of August 2010, was
convicted of murder in Birmingham crown court and sentenced to 29 years in prison. He was not the
person who fired the gun; he didn t even know the gun was

  • 2. Canadian Tires 1. What is BI and how can it help Canadian Tire? In the case there are 10 common challenges of BI implementations, which of these would you rate as most important for Eubanks and Wnek at CTC, and why? How would you address them? Business Intelligence (BI) is the consolidation and analysis of internal data and / or external data for the purpose of effective decision making. At the core of all BI initiatives is a data warehouse to hold the data and analytics software. The data warehouse stores data from operational systems in the organization and restructures it to enable queries and models to extract decision support reports. The primary objective of BI was to support and enable business and IT strategies at CTC. In the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... CTC IT was largely seen as a hardware provider and manager but not as a strategic business partner. 3. Compare the exhibits that depict the current versus the future desired BI infrastructure. What challenges exist for the implementation of the BI initiative? Fig: Current BI Environment In this figure, there are two sources of information for business: 1). Information from IW, which has passed through the ETL process before it goes to the end users. 2.) Information from independent data sources, which is processed by different standards. This is counter to the strategic goal of eliminating duplication of analysis, reporting and ad hoc analysis. This environment consumes more time for business users to understand end user data, and more money for the firm which is wasted on different and possibly conflicting results. Fig: Future BI Environment This figure illustrates the future of BI for CTC. Independent data sources have been incorporated into a single BI system, within a global data model. All data will be loaded into corporate EDW via ETL. The EDW will feed the financial data mart for enterprise performance management, so business users will be able to conduct planning and budgeting functions. • 3. Color Guard Speeches What is color guard? Color guard is a true test to physical strength and ability and it s where I spend every waking hour trying to improve each toss, turn, and count. Color guard is where two, almost three dozen girls spend most of our free time practicing something that will not get us a job. It won t pay us in anything but joy. And as cliché as that sounds, it s true. Color guard will probably never give us more than thousands upon millions of life lessons. Yet, we all still do it because we love it. Color guard is striving to be the best you can be. It s socializing with some people you can t stand half the time because somehow they became like family and mean more than the world to you. It s sacrificing so many Fridays to do what you love. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You are the cause of all this pain. Sometimes there is a friend in your life that is more important to you then you are to them, and that s perfectly normal, that s life. There are one or two friends like that in my life. And I admit, once I realized that, or once they started ditching our plans for other people, it stung for a little while, but I got over it. You are the cause of all this love. The reason the sting only hurt for a little is because I remembered how these people are still always there for me when I need them to be. I remembered how much fun we have when we do hang out. I remember how these people go out of their way to make one of my bad days good. I remember that they think to do something as simple as asking me if I ate that day because we have practice. I remember that at the end of the day if I REALLY need someone, they will be there no matter what. You are the thing I can t forget. There are some people you meet, some friendships you make, that are just irreplaceable. Sometimes you connect with someone so strongly, so remarkably fast that nobody believes it. Sometimes you connect with someone that you hated for years over something so small that even you have a hard time believing it. Another connection I made with this piece is also with color guard. Color guard is the cause of all my muscle aches, back aches, the reason I had to wear a knee brace for a week, the cause of half my frustration most of the time, and also the reason I have bruises on possibly every single part of my body, but it s all worth it because guard is something that I love with every ounce in my body. I had woken up to ensure that my men had all of their sensitive items on them and report to my Squad Leader that they did. It was our Company s responsibility to partner with the AUP down there to help protect T.I. 2 so that they can conduct their own patrols. It was located roughly a thousand meters south of Fob Zangabad, and about five hundred meters east of the town of Gerandi. America s Fear Of Crime America s fear of crime has developed an incarceration binge that has resulted in a disparity in America s prisons, largely, affecting the underclass; dishonored groups caught in a symbiosis of the ghetto and prison, meaning, that ghettos have become more like prisons, and so undermined the inmate society, as such, turned prisons, more like ghettos; hence, developed a state wherein the criminal justice system is the instrument to control the poor (Wacquant, 2010). Inevitably, societal isolation, constraints the agency of the poor; their racial isolation develops environments, where residential instability, family disruption and economic inequality facilitate marginality, unequivocally deprecating poor minorities life chances. Largely, due to socioeconomic forces and manipulation of institutional arrangements by powerful elites, which in turn, perpetuate the inmate disparity. Thus, maintains the underclass caste, more succinctly, an American apartheid. Accordingly, general consensus portrays inner cities (i.e. generally poor black neighborhoods), as the apparatus of crime. In this view, crime emanates from the poor, and so generates an environment credible fear that intensifies racism and frantic search for solutions in the form of draconian laws (e.g., zero tolerance, War on Drugs policies) that target the underclass and serve to advance formal social control via prisons. • 7. The Themes Of St. Augustine s Confessions By Saint Augustine Confessions In the book Confessions by Saint Augustine, there are several themes throughout that describes Augustine s thoughts and opinions of how to live responsibly. Augustine believes that God is the reason for everything good that happens to one s life, which you are to praise him for. Augustine goes through some tough situations, which he uses his life as a standard way of living or an example of what others go through in their lifetime. He plainly states on several occasions that in everything you do needs to be for the glory of God. This essay will outline the main themes referred in the passage of Book X, which are find God later in one s life, seeking pleasure in worldly things, and understanding where the beauty of the world comes from. Also, the essay will analyze his worldview that you shouldn t find pleasure in worldly possessions and to praise God, and how it helps others live or have a responsible life. There are several themes within the passage that shows Augustine s worldview. For example, in the first line of the passage, he understands the concept of loving God later in life: I have learnt to love you late (Conf. X.27). This quote suggests that Augustine is now able to see why is mother was so skeptical in giving him is baptism early in his childhood. He commits to sin on numerous occasions, but comes back to find God again. In Book II, Augustine s actions are paralleled with the prodigal son: I strayed still farther from you and you did not restrain me. I was tossed and spilled, floundering in the broiling sea of my fornication, and you said no word (Conf. II.1). Augustine acted just as the prodigal son did by straying from God and being taken over by worldly pleasures. As in the story, Augustine does come back to God and devotes himself to Him more than ever. It can be reasonably inferred that God rejoices more in the people who were lost and then found their salvation than to always be faithful towards Him. This suggests that God wants people to try and do it on their own, making mistakes after mistakes, and then hitting rock bottom to perhaps humble one in order to get their full attention to be placed on Him; this is what a responsible self looks like. In this section, the theme ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Mental Illness In Godwin s A Sorrowful Woman In Godwin s story A Sorrowful Woman , the mother has a series of very complex feelings and emotions. From the story, it can be inferred that this is a woman with a sudden onset of mental illness, a woman who has lost her identity and sense of belonging; and a woman who is consciously aware of all this, knowing she is a burden to her loved ones. This mother shows signs of her mental illness almost right off the bat, when, after looking at her son, she began yelping without tears, retching in between (39). The onset of this illness appears to be very sudden. The story begins with One winter evening she looked at them....the sight of them made her so sad and sick she did not want to see them ever again (39). It seems as if just one evening she suddenly begins to feel this way. When the son says, It s alright Mommy (39), causing the father to respond Mommy is sick (39), shows that the father did not have time to explain this to the son any time before. There is no evidence given in the story as to what caused her mental illness, though we can infer that the onset was quite sudden. Throughout the story, the woman is never identified, only being referred to as the woman (40). So we never have a sense of her identity outside of the fact that she is a wife and a mother with a mental illness. She also tries to find herself and her identity. She was a young queen, a virgin in a tower, she was the previous inhabitant, the girl with all the energies. She tried these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Evolution Of Justice How has justice evolved throughout world history? When children are young they are expected to follow rules precisely and if they break a rule, then they are typically forced to take a timeout. In a child s eyes, a time out is a horrible and miserable time when they are compelled to think about what they did wrong. But even though a timeout is considered harsh in the child s eyes it still establishes justice between the child who broke the rule and who was affected by that child s choice. As the child grows older, it realizes that justice doesn t have to established through a set of rules, but that justice can be achieved through kindness. In this example, Jesus is giving a sermon to people from various areas of Africa. Therefore, whoever breaks even the smallest of the commandments and teaches others to do the same will be least in the kingdom of heaven. On the other hand, whoever obeys the Law, and teaches others to do the same will be great in the kingdom of heaven (The Sermon on the Mount 30 C.E.). This exemplifies that if one was to break a commandment, he would face little to no severe punishment. Although the individual would face little punishment, if they did nothing to make the situation right they would face punishment spiritually or after death. However, Jesus did not only ensure punishment but also made good promises for those who were obedient. (God speaking to Moses) From this you know that now, if you obey my voice and hold fast to my covenant, you of all the nations shall be my very own for all the earth is mine. I will count you a kingdom of priests, a consecrated nation (The Covenant Code, Exodus 20:19 23:33). This portrays that those who did not obey God s covenant would not receive the good things that he promised but they would, however, get away with facing little punishment physically. On the whole, throughout history, justice becomes less about relentlessly punishing and following every rule word for word but more about benefitting from being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Great Depression And The New Deal Essay The late 1930s were a time of great suffering and uncertainty in the United States. The country was crippled by effects of the Great Depression; the result was a massive decline in jobs and economic stability that dramatically impacted both rural and urban communities. Millions of Americans were out of work, unable to support their families. State organizations and charities were unable to meet the growing needs of the people and many were left to fend for themselves. The Great Depression brought with it a legitimate, tangible fear about the future of America and its citizens. Upon the outcry of the American people a New Deal was struck giving the citizens of America a lifeline of hope in the ever growing State. The New Deal was a succession of programs, organizations and laws, enacted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, directly addressing the issues of jobs, welfare and uncertainty through direct federal involvement. The creators of the New Deal worked across party lines to reshape the norms of state involvement whilst making a great legislative effort to turn the declining economy around. The New Deal reshaped the federal government s relationship with its citizens in a time of economic uncertainty helping to grow the State in a time of peace. The state is best understood in relation to a government s power, influence and involvement with citizens rights in a given territory. • 18. The Doctrine Of Freedom Of Contract The particular focus of this essay is on how terms are implied. This is central because the courts intervene and impose implied terms when they believe that in addition to the terms the parties have expressly agreed on, other terms must be implied into the contract. Gillies argued that the courts have become more interventionist in protecting the rights of contracting parties thereby encroaching upon the notion of freedom of contract. The doctrine of freedom of contract is a prevailing philosophy which upholds the idea that parties to a contract should be at liberty to agree on their own terms without the interference of the courts or legislature. Implied terms can be viewed as a technique of construction or interpretation of contracts. It has been argued that the courts are interfering too much in their approach to determine and interpret the terms of a contract. The aim of this essay is to explore this argument further and in doing so consider whether freedom of contract is lost due to courts imposing implied terms. The essay will outline how the common law implies terms. The final part of the essay will examine whether Parliament, by means of a statute, or terms implied by custom restrict freedom in a contract. An overall conclusion on the issue will be reached. On the one hand it is evident that terms implied at common law can be implied in law or implied in fact . • 26. The Collapse Of The European Union Essay In the wake of two devastating European wars, there was a vague desire across Europe for more unity to hopefully prevent yet another terrible conflict from breaking out. However, views over the proper scope and implementation of any such unity were often divided between the philosophies of supranationalism and intergovernmentalism. At different times, both ideas played a part in shaping the future European Union, depending on the moods of European leaders and their constituents. Throughout the history of postwar Europe, almost every major development toward supranational unity can be attributed to a handful of powerful people. In fact, the first official institution of postwar European cooperation, the ECSC, was founded by a few leaders of state. Robert Schuman, the French foreign minister, adopted Jean Monnet s idea of merging French and German coal and steel production as a peaceful and economically advantageous tool to prevent Germany from once again rising up against France and the rest of Europe. Once Schuman had the idea, all that was needed to officially found the ECSC was the Schuman Declaration and the consent of Germany s Chancellor Adenauer. Several years later, the next big step in European integration came from the work of ECSC president Jean Monnet, as well as Paul Henri Spaak, who both resolved to create stronger economic ties between the countries in the ECSC. • 28. The Importance Of African Culture In Chinua Achebe s... Chinua Achebe s most well known novel Things Fall Apart was defined by many as a modern piece of African literature that was truly African. It became a major contribution to literature around the world. The novel revolves around an Ibo village in Nigeria. The inclusion of African culture, such as the language, stories, and way of life, create depth and dimension and are essential to the telling of the Ibo story by Achebe. The certain Ibo words included in the novel help develop a taste for true African culture. Without these words, Achebe would not have been able to explain himself as well as he did. The words that are used in the english language differ greatly from the words used in Ibo language. Achebe illustrates this when he writes, That was how Okonkwo first came to know that agbala was not only another name for a woman, it could also mean a man who had taken no title (Achebe 13). In this piece from the novel, it demonstrates that the special African word has a greater meaning than any English word ever could. If Achebe were to just say the word woman in place of the word agabala, many readers may become confused as to what he means. The word choice establishes what true African culture is. The author demonstrates this principle of the difference of language on many occasions throughout the novel such as, This man told him that the child was an ogbanje, one of those wicked children who, when they died, entered their mothers wombs to be born again (Achebe 77) and ... Asad s Theory Of White Norm And The Ku Klux Klan White supremacy is a term that is traditionally defined as the belief that white people are superior to those of all other races, especially the black race, and should therefore dominate society. White supremacy is a deep seeded ideology that, throughout history, has impacted religion, theocracy and the structure of our organizations. Although Christianity isn t inherently white supremacy, white supremacy can be analyzed as a religious event, as it involves the power that is synonymous with religion and the liminal state of traditional rites of passage. This paper will explain Asad s theory of power, summarize Turner s account of liminality, and analyze white supremacy and the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) using these two theoretical models. White supremacy originated in the mid fifteenth century when the European powers began taking African people as slaves in their quest for power and land. However, it wasn t until the late eighteenth century when the theological association of Christianity and whiteness allowed white supremacy to take on the cultural values consistent in Asad and Turner s theories. White supremacy then became institutionally perpetuated and began to impact every facet of life. White supremacy has been used to rationalize genocide, enslavement and prejudice. Locating in Long Grove, IL, the original Long Grove Confectionery was a retail shop and candy kitchen that was housed in a nostalgic replica of a red schoolhouse. • 41. Changing Picture of the Look of a Family Introduction In the past there was a clear picture of what a family would typically look like. In today s world it doesn t have to consist of a mother, a father and their biological children living together under one roof. It can consist of just a grandfather and his grandson, because they are still considered family. Throughout years families can create and indoctrinate new members. The power of the family is such that despite the possible separation of members by vast distances, sometimes even death, the family s influence remains (Goldenberg Goldenberg, p. 2, 2012). Even when a family member experiences a temporary or permanent sense of alienation from the family, he or she can never truly relinquish family membership (Goldenberg Goldenberg, p. 2, 2012). The family life cycle continuously evolves throughout the years. Families continue to remain the foundation of most people s lives. They can provide the security, support, and intimacy people need (Kirst Ashman Hull, p.329, 2012). Within families there should always be structure. Family structure refers to the organization of relationships and patterns of interaction occurring within the family. In addition, family structure will vary dramatically depending from one family to another (Kirst Ashman Hull, p.334, 2012). As social workers, we can work on a micro, mezzo and or macro level. We can encounter individual clients who may initially have individual problems. However, we may have to go from a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Literary Devices In The Importance Of Being Earnest Elinor Fuchs sees the play as a world that passes in front of the critic in time and space ; one that has elements that must be understood (Fuchs, 2004, p 6). These elements closely resembles Aristotle s six elements of a play plot, character, thought, diction, music and spectacle elements that are clearly identifiable in Oscar Wilde s 1895 play The Importance of Being Earnest . The play is divided into three scenes; acts as the author chooses to refer to them. The scene of these actions is three different places: 1) a flat on a London city street Algernon Moncrieff s living quarters; 2) a manor house garden in Woolton where Mr. John Worthing, J.P and his charge Cecily Cardew live; 3) and the drawing room at the Woolton manor house, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before this direct reference, the theme has only been alluded to when we notice how keen Algernon is in keeping Lane at his proper social place a servant who does not discuss his domestic issues with their boss or social betters. Romance is clearly a theme that the play deals with and is introduced by the caustic reference to the relationship between his cousin and Mr. Worthington My dear fellow, the way you flirt with Gwendolen is perfectly disgraceful. It is almost as bad as the way Gwendolen flirts with you clearly this cannot be anything else but love. The play is also very concerned about the issue of extravagance. Algernon is an extravagant young man, a fact Mr. Worthington does not appreciate and tries again and again to discourage when they discuss Algernon s culinary tastes. Through the various comments by the characters the play reveals the authors cynicism towards the marriage institution which he relentlessly attacks as the flippant in married households the champagne is rarely of a first rate brand and through such play with words as divorce was made in heaven rather than marriages were made in heaven . Characters use a light hearted banter even as the issues they deal with are heavy Algernon accuses Lane of pilfering through a light rhetorical banter Why is it that at a bachelor s establishment the servants invariably drink the champagne? The soliloquy is used to deliver profound thoughts like where Algernon claims rights for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Comparison Of Thomas Malthus And Garret Hardin Cycle Of... Poverty is the discrepancy between the powers of reproduction and the ability to expand food production. People are poor because there are too many of them, and they keep having children in spite of their poverty. Poverty exists because of overpopulation. Providing relief to the poor will simply encourage them to have more children. Poverty is an economic issue, and eliminating poverty will not only benefit the individual, but will benefit the entire country. Both Thomas Malthus and Garret Hardin proved poverty is the fault of the individual and therefore it is their responsibility to eliminate it. Wealthy nations are not responsible for eliminating poverty among the poorer nations. To begin, poverty goes hand in hand with overpopulation. Poor people choose to continue to reproduce which ultimately leads to them continuing the cycle of poverty. The poor people are to blame for their poverty and it is their job to reduce population and eliminate poverty. Malthus proves that poverty will always be with us because of population increase. Poverty is the result of the poor people, who lack moral standards, and refuse to change their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The population continues to increase geometrically while subsistence only increases arithmetically (Malthus 325). The poor people start having families at a young age and continue to reproduce. Essentially this leads to overpopulation, which in the long run leads to us occupying all of the land and running out. This makes it harder for people in poverty to find work because so many people are looking for jobs. Labor prices then cost less, but because of the lack of food the price for it goes up. This ultimately leads to the poor people having to work more and harder to make money. Once they make money, and are able to buy food and provide for their family, they believe they are well off which leads to them reproducing and the poverty cycle starting all over again (Malthus ... • 45. `` My Dream `` By Brittany Maynard My dream is that every terminally ill American has access to the choice to die on their own terms with dignity. Please take an active role to make this a reality (qtd Brittany Maynard Fund ). Brittany Maynard Diaz, a 29 year old woman who was diagnosed with Glioblastoma and only given six months to live, turned her tragedy into a legacy when she chose to die with dignity. She became an advocate for the Compassion and Choices End of Life Consultation or EOLC program by sharing her story and decision with everyone in America in an effort to help give everyone in her situation the same options. She believed in dying with dignity for the same basic reasons that many others do; constitutionally speaking, it is within everyone s individual rights, it is an established medical practice used all over the world, and no one should be forced to suffer needlessly. After researching her diagnosed form of cancer and discussing her options with her family, any type of treatment given would only destroy the quality of life during the time she had left to live. What would you do? Imagine going to the doctor after numerous, severe headaches. The doctor performs a CT scan that reveals a rapidly growing brain tumor. The doctor breaks down the information, reveals that the tumor is a rare form of cancer, and is inoperable. Unfortunately, the doctor also relays the life expectancy with a cancer this rare and aggressive; a few months at best and those short months will become increasingly ... • 46. Joint Enterprise Ending Crime Joint enterprise, ending crime or escalating jail rates? In this day and age crime is crazy, a leap in crimes committed, the population is growing and so the demand for technology is increasing, this only results in more crime, more criminals and more witnesses. Joint enterprise is a new law recently re introduced aiming to reduce the amount of criminals but ended up punishing the innocent witnesses. Joint enterprise is a topic in which experts have been debating about for a long time. Some believe that joint enterprise is a form of human rights abuse whereas others think it is just. Imagine an innocent bystander accused for something they didn t do, imagine their families devastated by the news and their mothers tears, parents losing their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a major factor of why the joint enterprise is bad. Joint enterprise usually convicts the wrong people sending them to jail, devastating families, filling up jails all coming out of our tax money. Think about it, whenever you see the facts of people going to jail, not all of them are criminals. For example the case Derek Bentley, a vulnerable teenager, who was hanged despite public outrage in 1953 after being convicted of murder under joint enterprise law as he was accused of murdering a police officer. His conviction was overturned almost fifty years later exclusively due to the efforts of his sister Iris. His sister Iris made a massive campaign, which was initially led by Derek s parents until they died, which led to his remains being removed from Wandsworth Prison and reburied in a family grave. There are many cases just like this such as the case of Jasbir Takhar who on the 5th of August 2010, was convicted of murder in Birmingham crown court and sentenced to 29 years in prison. He was not the person who fired the gun; he didn t even know the gun was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
