Mini Cooper
Introduction
Marketing communication is an ever changing field. New theories, new techniques, cultural
changes and technological advances all combine to create a dynamic environment within which
marketers try to ensure that their messages get through to their target audiences (Blythe, 2006, p.2).
Fill (2005) argues that marketing communications is the way in which organisations reach their
target audiences or it is an audience centred activity (Fill, 2005, p.9).
This report aims to analyse the current marketing communication activities for one of the most
recognised brands in the UK and the world, MINI Cooper. The first part includes some background
information and after that the report follows the planning framework provided by ... Show more

2.1.2. Levels of awareness, perception and attitudes towards MINI
As Keller (1993, p. 3) argues, [...] perceptions about a brand as reflected by the brand
associations held in consumer memory . Keller (1998) also suggests that there are three
categories that constitute the overall brand perception: attributes; benefits and attitudes. A study
conducted by Simms and Trott (2006) explores the brand perception of the MINI stakeholders.
Based on their findings researchers established a model that gives a perspective on a product
brand by linking specific brand associations to the image that is developed in the mind of the
consumer or stakeholder, and finally linking this to how the image appeals to key stakeholders
(Simms and Trott, 2006) . The application of their model to the MINI brand is presented in
Appendix 2. .
2.1.3 Involvement
The types of involvement that can be identified in MINI s customers are related to the so called
product and ego involvement as the interest is mainly in the MINI itself, but also relates to the
customers self concept (Solomon et al, 2006). What is more, MINI has become an icon and the
level of involvement can be associated with cult products (Solomon et al, 2006).
2.2. The business context
2.2.1 Corporate/marketing plans
As mentioned above the MINI business context is inevitably related to that of the overall BMW

Why People Emigrate From Their Native Countries
Every year, most countries lose half of their population to migration. These countries are left behind
in the areas such as developmental and economical growth. The government and the people living
in that Country suffer the consequences such as low productivity and poor academic performance
due to lack of qualified teachers. People emigrate from their native countries for economic, familial,
and educational reasons.
Economic issues are one of the reasons people emigrate from their native land to other
Countries. One example, is the high cost of living and low wages in some native Countries.
Most people in their native land are deprived of having easy access to the most common things
such as food, electricity, and housing. The high cost of living often forces individuals to search
for an alternative place to live leading them to emigrate to a place that is more affordable. Low
wages also play a big role in migration. To elaborate, a teacher who teaches in high schoolin their
native country obtains a much lower hourly wage and hardly any benefits than another teacher with
the same qualifications teaching in a different country. When this happens, people in their native
land have no choice but to emigrate to a country where they can get higher wages and better
benefits. As a result, the country loses its people who would have helped move the country forward
in terms of education and this results in poor academic performance of students who are in the
country. Not only do

Development Challenges Of The Vietnam War
Development Challenges
Vietnam is one of the fastest developing countires in the world, however it still faces many
development challenges.
The Vietnam War that began in 1955, is the main factor to why Vietnam is a developing country.
The war lasted almost 20 years and took over 2 million lives, 3 million were wounded and too many
children were left as orphans.
From 1960 1975 (during the war) life expectancy was very low. The average age varied between
59.07 61.54 years. Now they average to around 75.61 years.

Archetype Mother Goddess In The Hunger Games
Being selfless is a characteristic that few people possess. Being concerned more with the needs of
others is what heroism embodies. The narrative in the movie, The Hunger Games follows Katniss
Everdeen s heroic quest as a tribute in the 74th Hunger Games of Panem. How does Katniss
embody the feminine archetype mother goddessand how does a heros journey represent Katniss
quest as a tribute in the Hunger Games? What is the feminine archetype mother goddess? An
archetype is a personality type that is generally thought to be the greatest or purest example
(Harris). Goddess is the female version of God. A goddess is the great Mother, she exists in all
women, is beautiful even in her flaws, and she is a woman in touch with her own power to create
and destroy (Jones ch. 3). The archetype mother goddess is actually several archetypes bottled up
into one great archetype. The Great Mother personifies a caretaker, guide, nurturer, protector, and
creator (ch. 3). A caretaker is a nurturer, who can take on the role of looking after another human
being, is often protective, loyal, and sacrifice themselves for the greater good (ch. 3). In addition,
caretakers are selfless, empathic, virtuous, true, incredibly strong and resilient (ch. 3). A creator
archetype can give birth to new ideas, concepts, and things (ch. 3). Katniss demonstrates all of these
qualities during her quest as a tribute.
What is a hero and a hero s journey? A hero is an individual who has the courage of conviction to
perform feats that benefit the general populace, acts as a soldier of virtue, and has an altruistic
spirit that urges him or her to act against evil and defend the greater good at all costs, even
sacrificing his own well being or life (Harris 2). Vogler reduced Joseph Campbells The Hero

Symptoms And Treatment Of Bacterial Resistance Essay
As a surgical Technologist in the Operating room, I have witnessed first hand the destruction and
suffering that bacteria can have on the body. Some infections only cause minor discomfort and
inflammation. Other bacteria such as streptococcus can cause horribly debilitating diseases such
as Necrotizing Fasciitis1. I have also seen that bacterial resistance can play a central role in the
outcome of a patient and their future life. Resistance can even determine if a person lives or dies
from a bacterial infection. This is in no way more present to me than in the life of my grandmother
who, through years of diabetic complications and treatment, is now left with less than a handful of
antibiotics that will work to treat her conditions. Dr. Keiji Fukuda of the World Health Organization
said it best, Without urgent, coordinated action by many stakeholders, the world is headed for a
post antibiotic era, in which common infections and minor injuries which have been treatable for
decades can once again kill. 2 With how many people that have infections today, the topic of
antibiotics is of utmost importance. The aim of this paper is to look at the history of antibiotics,
how they work and why they are not working now, and the possibility of better antibiotics in our
future. HistoryAntibiotics themselves are relatively new in the history of health and medicine. In
order to better understand antibiotics we must first understand how we developed them. The germ

The Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism was released in 1967, giving
recommendations to the federal government on steps to be taken for equality across ethnicities.
The primary recommendation was for the implantation of a policy for official bilingualism,
making both English and French of equal importance in Canada (Language rights and judicial
wrongs: Official bilingualism jurisprudence in Canada s provincial courts. Pg 11). The report also
recommended that bilingualism be increased in all of the provinces. Once Pierre Trudeau gained
office one of his first things on his agenda was to bring in the Official Languages Act (OLA) in
1969, making both French and English equally recognized in Canada. Trudeau did not support the
nationalists in Quebec with their goal of separatism and this was his way to make French
Canadians feel they were of greater importance to the county (Language rights and judicial wrongs:
Official bilingualism jurisprudence in Canada s provincial courts. Pg 12). Trudeau saw that this
policy should strengthen national unity in Canada through various ways. It was thought that
making the French speaking of equal importance as the English speaking in Canada it would
reduce the rising pressure coming from Quebec to separate from Canada.. The bilingualism was
also a hope that across Canada communications would become easier due to the knocking

An Internet Protocol Address ( Ip Address ) Essay
7.1 Description:
An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each participating in a
computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication.
What is an IP address
IP address is a shorter way of saying Internet Protocol address. IP addresses are the numbers
assigned to computer network interfaces. Although we use names to refer to the things we seek on
the Internet, such as www.example.org, computers translate these names into numerical addresses
so they can send data to the right location. So when we send an email, visit a web site, or
participate in a video conference, our computer sends data packets to the IP address of the other end
of the connection and receives packets destined for its own IP address.
Why do we need IP addresses
IP addresses are the numbers that enable our computers, servers, telephones, cameras, printers
and sensors to communicate with each other. Without IP addresses, we would have to copy data
from device to device manually, using CDs, DVDs, hard disks or flash storage, such as a USB
drive. But more importantly, our devices could not send data to each other without human
intervention. Without the IP addresses assigned to our computers, we would have to send paper
letters and memos instead of sending emails. There would be no streaming video sites. Instead,
we would have to send each other discs and tapes. Worst of all, we would not be able to order items
online and would have to go to stores to buy

Physical exercise, mainly aerobic physical exercise, is an excellent strategy to enhance your
power. Aerobic workout lets you preserve an elevated heart rate by performing a series of
moderate workouts for an extended time frame (15 20 minutes). Aerobic exercising may be as
complicated as a complete routine or as straight forward as swinging your arms at your sides
something that gets your heart rate up and keeps it there for at the least 20 minutes.

Victims Rights and Restorative Justice
Introduction Agreeing on a definition of restorative justice has proved difficult. One definition is
a theory of justice that focuses mostly on repairing the harm caused by criminal behaviour. The
reparation is done through a cooperative process that includes all the stakeholders. Restorative
justice can also be explained as an approach of justice that aims to satisfy the needs of the victims
and offenders, as well as the entire community. The most broadly accepted definition for
restorative justice, however, is a process whereby all the parties that have a stake in a specific
offence collectively resolve on how to deal with the aftermath. This process is largely focused
around reparation, reintegration and participation of victims. That... Show more content on

In the U.K., a vulnerable victim is clearly defined by section 16 as any of the following:
Children under 18 Any other witness whose quality of evidence in court is likely to be
diminished because of: o a mental disorder o a significant impairment of intelligence and social
functioning o a disability or physical disorder However, not everyone with a disability is
vulnerable. The vulnerability depends on the nature of the disability. On the other hand, an
intimidated victim or witness is described by the law in section 17 as victims or witnesses
whose quality of evidence is likely to be diminished by reasons of fear or distress. Reasons for
calling a victim intimidated include: The nature and alleged circumstance of the offence Age
Social and cultural background and ethnic origins Domestic and employment circumstance
Religious beliefs or political opinions The victim can also be intimidated by the behaviour of the
defendant, members of the accused person s family or associates, or any other person who is
likely to be an accused person or a witness in court proceedings. Most intimidated victims or
witnesses are involved in cases of domestic violence, gang related crimes, or crimes motivated by
race, religion, disability, homophobia, or transphobia. They may also be victims and witnesses who
have experienced past or repeat harassment or bullying.

Phar Lap Essay Questions
Phar Lap the movie, produced by John Sexton, is relatively accurate to historical fact. This is
largely due to the good representation of the horse himself and those closely involved with him.
History is not conclusive itself and the film is vague in the corresponding areas. The producers
showed the horse very accurately. Phar Lap, played by Towering Inferno, is a very similar
colour of reddish chestnut. As seen in the later part of the film at Agua Caliente, he is shown to
be taller than most of the horses. His behaviour is also very similar to fact as well. It was known
he would pull hair and shirts of stableboys, so the scene of the first meeting Tommy Woodcock is
entirely possible. Other characters are also portrayed accurately. Phar Lap s main jockey, James
Jim Pike are also shown quite accurately. The jacket colours were real as Phar Lap did race under

Phar Lap did lose his first few races. It was not until 1929 when he won the Maiden Juvenile

of methods are not currently available. There is most likely an inaccuracy as in the film he is
shown to be running in desert like sand dunes but this may not have happened. It is known Phar
Lap was shot at in the street. The event did occur from a car but exact weapons and style, for
example drive by or stationary, are vague. The producers may have fictitiously embellished the
story here. The Agua Caliente race in America is also relatively close to fact. Phar Lap did race
in new shoes, although not exclusively shown in the film, with a split hoof. There is also no final
or definite statement as to how Phar Lap died. As such the film also vague and does not provide a
final solution. It also recognises the fact that a large amount of arsenic was present in Phar Lap as

The Importance Of Employee Empowerment
Employee empowerment is important, even if you believe in a traditional type of employee
management. Empowerment of your employees has the ability to turn your organization around
and make it more successful than it previously was. In some organizations employee empowerment
is absolutely needed. They type of organizations that need employee empowerment are basically
any business that has employees who have to work together as a team. Empowerment also does not
just mean to ask your employees their opinion, empowerment of your employees means to not only
seek their opinions but implement them as well(Goetsch Davis, 2014). To gain approval from
management, I would first highlight why I believe it would be beneficial for the organization. I
would put dramatic emphasis on why I feel every employee should feel empowered. Employees
who are empowered are employees who value their position and actually work harder to meet their
goals(Goetsch Davis,2014). After I stated the importance need for having an empowerment
overhaul with our employees, I would then zone in on the things that keep the organization
operational.
Employee empowerment gives the organization the opportunity to get the information from
employees that deal within the organization all day. The employees know what needs to be changed
in order for things to run more smoothly. Showing management that employee empowerment can
grow their business while at the same time making their employees feel valued is important.

Advertisements are important to get the brand s name known, so they can sell products and make

Unlike the British and American women, Indian women did not face great difficulty in securing
franchise. Gandhiji stressed on the need for active participation of the masses during the freedom
movement, including women. He encouraged total participation of women resulting in the
emergence of a large number of women freedom fighters. Annie Besant, Madame Cama and

Representative Democracy In America
Many people believe that America is a democracy; these people are not wrong; however, the
more accurate term would be a representative democracy . The reason behind this is, as opposed
to every citizen going to the polls and voting on each public issue, we have elected officials that
vote based on their constituents preferences. Since it is the people that elect these representatives,
it is critical that public opinion be taken into consideration. However, regardless of how we gather
our data, bias often makes it difficult to accurately gauge public opinion. Public opinion can be
defined as the collective opinion of many people on some issue. When it comes to elections, party
members attempt to estimate a candidate favorability by polling the public using different
techniques such as: calling, online surveys, panels, and exit polls. However, when trying to get the

Song Analysis Of Two By The Antlers

Their album Hospice tells the story of a abusive relationship between a hospice nurse and his

intense narrative and raw emotion. The story goes that once the patient recovered, the two felt so

The melody is very condensed and conjunct. It sounds very monotone, almost as if he is talking
directly to his partner. You can tell that the singer/narrator of this song cares more about his
partners past trauma, than the trauma he is being faced with now. Furthermore, during the
chorus, (when he discusses the past), the singer begins to hit each beat a bit harder with more
passion. For example, You had a new dream, it was more like a nightmare / You were just a little
kid, and they cut your hair / Then they stuck you in machines, you came so close to dying They
should have listened, they thought that you were lying . During this part, you feel a wave of
emotion from these words, while the tempo is still steady and fast as

The Role Of Water Security In The Jordan River Basin
Abstract
The scarcity, depletion and polluting of water in one of the world s driest regions, is a problem
that has perplexed the nations of the Middle East for decades. The riparian states of the Jordan
River Basin include Israel, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. These states are in a constant struggle over
securing water rights for their respective states. The conflict over water is also overshadowed by
the Arab Israeli issues and the subsequent territorial questions. While territory is often at the
forefront of the issues, securing water has also become a contributing factor in the conflicts of the
past, and will continue in the future. Choices of conflict or cooperation will have to be made, given
the diminishing amounts of water available. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many countries are also highly dependent on water that originates outside their borders; the water
diversion provided by dams for countries that are downstream exacerbates an already serious
problem. The diversion of river systems is an area of international concern, the nature and extent of
such interdependency is already extensive: 145 countries share over 261 international river basin.
As demand increases, and as indigenous sources of water become fully utilized or exhausted, the
only alternatives are likely to be international (Dolatyar, 2006). Ironically, the very solution of one
country s scarcity, plunges another into water shortage, this is the reason why water security is one
of the most crucial foreign policy considerations of a globally connected economic and political
atmosphere.
Water as a source of conflict
When one thinks of turmoil in the Middle East, oil is often the first thought, however, water has
begun to be a problematic area, both internal and international. However, the cause for water
scarcity does not only depend on conditions within its borders (Giordano, Giordano Wolf , 2004).
Israel s water source comes from the Jordan River, an elongated valley in the central Middle East,
and is shared with Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Palestine (Lowi, 1995). The Hasbani River, the Dan
River, and the Banyas River are the three tributaries of the Jordan River. Although the Jordan Basin
extends into five states, approximately 80 percent

Akaashi Alternate Ending
Ummmm..... Keiji? Bokuto says, looking at Akaashi early Monday morning.
What is it? Akaashi answers, fixing his school uniform.
I know that you kind of already wanted to come out to the public that you are an owl person, but
are you okay seeing as you re basically forced to now? Akaashi nods.
Yes, I m fine. With his wing broken, Akaashi couldn t transform back into his human form
properly, so he had no choice but to go to school showing who he really is. In a way, it was
relieving that he was finally coming out, but it was also pretty terrifying seeing as he hadn t planned
anything. If people started asking questions.... well........ then he was screwed.

Akaashi huffs in slight annoyance, but he lets Bokuto have fun. While he didn t hate that Bokuto

Exiting his house, Bokuto spreads his wings wide and takes off, heading to school. Though

The Church Of The Brethren
Church of the Brethren does not accept abortion. Participating in abortion is not support their
beliefs. Church of the Brethren is a denomination that was formed to continue their practices their
own way. They started as a small group and to this day still recruit new members. They solely use
the New Testament as their source of guidance for the practice they preach. Rational Choice theory
explains Church of the Brethren s position in opposing abortion.
The Church of the Brethren opposes abortion because the rejection of unborn children violates the
love by which God creates and nurtures human life (1984). This is the Church of Brethren s
official position concerning abortion. They feel they are responsible for the children who are
unwanted. They believe in various alternatives to abortion for the people in their community. They
still will love and support those who believe that eliminating a child from their womb is the
correct thing. Opposing abortion falls in favor with the majority of the Church of the Brethren.
However, meetings are held with the Standing Committee to discuss controversial topics, such as
abortion. The Church of the Brethren suggests that human life existed way before conception in
Psalm 51:5. Also in Jeremiah 1:5, which states that he, was acknowledged before conception. The
life of the fetus and of the mother are described as valuable in Exodus 21:22 25 (1972). According
to these scriptures, the life of a fetus is important before even existing.

Bad Decisions In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
The play Romeo and Juliet is about a series of bad decisions and tragic events that lead up to the
untimely death of the two main characters, Romeo and Juliet. There are many people responsible
for their deaths, but the character who had the most impact on their deaths was Rosaline.
Rosaline was a woman admired by Romeo, but Romeo was sadly rejected by Rosaline when
confessing his love. He cried for about a day and then fell for another lady, who was Juliet,
which ended in their deaths. Perhaps if Rosaline had not rejected Romeo, they would have lived
happily ever after and Juliet would have fallen in love with Paris. However, this didn t happen,
Rosaline will not stay the siege of loving terms (Shakespeare 382). Wanting to be a good

Analysis Of The Noachian Flood Deluge
I am arguing that the Noachian Flood Deluge as depicted in the biblical book of Genesis is a
fable, with no basis in reality. My opponent is required to be a creationist who believes in a
worldwide flood. He can not however, just ignore problems and say that God did it. He can t used
faith as a justification for belief, and must prove it with evidence. Of course, positive claims require
positive evidence, and that is what I expect.
Meteorology and Thermodynamics
Leonard G. Soroka and Charles L. Nelson in their Physical Constraints on the Noachian Deluge
examined four separate methods for flood waters, being rain, hypothermic springs, and two types of
cometary impact. None of them work, due to excessive energy and heat.
Rainfall Model
The amount of water presently in the oceans is about 1.37 billion cubic kilometers, and to cover all
the high mountains of the earth would require 4.4 billion additional cubic kilometers or
approximately 3 times the amount of water present in the oceans. Not only would this make the
air unbreathable due to it being 99.9% water vapor, atmospheric pressure being 840 times what it
is now. Then take the latent heat of vaporization, when a kilogram of water vapor condenses and
2.26 million joules of energy are released. This is what powers thunderstorms and hurricanes.
Condensing 4.4 billion cubic kilometers would create 10^26 joules of energy, making the planet
3500 degrees C, temporarily making the planet the second hottest object in the solar

No company can avoid the influence of fluctuations in the global economy. And when you re in a

Results and Analysis
Results:
During, the DFL reported $3,312,100 in expenses for outreach and fundraising while the
ASPCA reported $22,971,916 as expense of media buys, promotions, and related. At the end of
year the DFL reported $3,536,000 in profits while the ASPCA reported $29,707,577 in profits.
From this information the return on every dollar invested in advertising can be derived by
dividing profit by the total expense. In the case of the DFL there was a $1.07 return on every dollar
and in the case of the ASPCA there was a $1.29 return on every dollar.
Charity Navigator, an independent corporation that evaluates charities, provides access to
historical data on both corporations for comparative purposes. In the 2012 period, the DFL
received a financial rating of 49.44 while the ASPCA received a financial rating of 54.87 out of
70. This number is compiled based on several financial aspects such as program expenses,
program expense growth, and primary revenue growth however what is relevant to this
commentary is the fundraising expenses and efficiency. The ASPCA invested at least 7.5% more
of its funds into fundraising then the DLF. Solely in terms of fundraising, the ASPCA s efficiency
was greater with a $0.23 return while the DLF had an efficiency of $0.17.

The Paradox Of Avatar
Movies create realities. As life tells the stories of each, each moulds the reality which he/she
believes in. Movies are like these stories of life, but recorded within the bandwidth of camera to
capture a perspective. Also, movies are applied to reality, are the reflection of the world, or are the
doorsteps of escaping reality fantasy. As of what James Camerons Avatar, this movie reflected the
three statements above this sentence. Avatar is a critical acclaimed hit when it released, spanning
dollars after dollars of sales and revenue. The question remains, what is the story of this movie?
As for these statements about Avatar, this blog would try to answer some key aspects of the film
through the set questions given by lecturer though not all questions will be answered. The first
question that will be answered is, where in the film do you see critiques evident of the current
state of the world in the characters, dialogue and content of the film? As clear water reflects the

Lord of the Flies Compared to Animal Farm Essay
Dictators often use fear as a control tactic in their countries as they want to make sure they have
total power over their people. Fear is defined as an unpleasant and often strong emotion caused
by anticipation or awareness of danger, often causing a person to act according to what is
necessary for survival. Although fear can be unpleasant, many people like it in different ways;
some like the suspense that scary movies bring, while others like the thrill that is created when
cliff jumping. George Orwell s allegory Animal Farm and William Golding s novel Lord of the

Napoleon uses that strategy because animals are scared and their ignorance makes them believe
that if they work harder and do what Napoleon says, they will have a better chance of surviving.
Jack s tribe also does everything he says because they are scared to physically get hurt or killed.
Therefore both leaders benefit from this physical fear that both societies experience. Both
leaders use supernatural things and outside influences to establish fear over their society. Jack
uses constantly the beast to his own advantage. He often makes allusion of it to scare his tribe,
as it is shown when he says the beast might try to come in (Golding 177) to his guards. This
shows that he is definitely afraid of the beast even though he tries to reassure his tribe to not be
afraid, which perfectly links with his previous words of this head is for the beast. It s a gift
(Golding 151) which clearly proves his fear of the beast, while at the same time using that as a
way to persuade his tribe that they are safe with him as long as they do what he says. Napoleon
uses lies about outside enemies to his own advantage. Napoleon claims that Snowball is a traitor
and was secretly frequenting the farm by night (Orwell 52) causing panic in the animals. Therefore

Experimentation in Music Essay
Experimentation in Music
For thousands of years, music has been a part of people s lives and has evolved through many
different forms over time. Music is the art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a
continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre
(American Heritage). One important component of analyzing music is whether it has musical
value. In other words, music does not have to be organized sound or produced by instruments. This
is what composers and artists of experimental music discover. Experimental music is an art form,

In experimental music, the composer is free to create their own work as art. Experimental music is
an art form that is open to creativity.
As well as being an art form, experimental music uses a variety of instruments and sound producing
items. In the last hundred years, many composers and music artists experimented with other noises
and sources of sound. Composers such as Luigi Russolo and George Antheil used sirens, whistles,
anvils, and machines to create sounds in their musical works (Ewen 95). In the 1930s through
1950s, some composers began to experiment with new types of sounds in music. The composer
Edgard Varese felt that music had to be freed of all the inhibitions that centuries of tradition and
rules had imposed upon it (102). Personally created instruments are also used in experimental
music. One of the composers who devised his own musical scale and instruments was Harry Partch
(158). He experimented with the new, unique instruments that he created to produce new music of
strange and different sounds. John Cage, a composer, wrote a piece for a toy piano. Experimental
music can use new, invented instruments and unconventional instruments.
Many different items that produce sound have been used in experimental music. A comb is used in
George Brecht s Comb Music to create a unique, delicate sound (Nyman 64). LaMonte Young had

Analysis Of On Truth
Today s political climate is a polarizing topic. Every form of media has an opinion on it from
major news outlets to adult animated sitcoms. Harry Frankfurt s book On Truth is relevant to the
political storm that is brewing in American society due to the manipulation of the truth by political
figures and mainstream media. Frankfurt approaches the importance of truth in a unique fashion
and vilifies lies and those who spread them. This directly relates to the election year and how the
truth is shrouded in mystery. The Daodejing and Socrates writings, while both important in
literature are not as pertinent to the charged political climate that is taking place in the United
States right now. For the first time in American history there has been mass protests across the
country due to the Republican nominated president elect Donald J. Trump. People from many
major cities went to the streets to say things like Not My President and Never Trump. It is safe to
say Trump s campaign has been riddled with controversy and has been criticized by both major
political parties. Trump s campaign is not the only one with problems. Democratic nominee Hillary
Clinton has been met with constant problems throughout her campaign she has been accused of
numerous corruption scandals. The American public is deeply divided and believes they had to
pick between the lesser of two evils. This is all a distortion of the truth. The media is turning into a

My Moment In The Moment Essay
It was august 4 3:47pm just 5 minutes before my arm would crack. My neighbor and I were
upstairs in my room when she said I m bored let s go outside. After 2 minutes we left my room
and went into the hall. I slipped my shoes on half way and thought, once i m in the living room I
will put them on completely. The railing of the stairs measured, right by my waist, so I locked
my arms. I had just started to go to the third step when my right leg slipped and I fell, landing
seated. My sight turned dark as if I had been staring at the sun and white snow. For some reason I
thought I had made the railing fall of the wall. I thought this because heard and felt something
fall on me. I started searching for my left arm with a blurry vision. I couldn t find it until I
noticed it was hanging in between my legs. I picked it up and I felt the bone move in my arm. I
called my mom and said Mom I broke my arm! She started helping me and I kept on saying don t
let my arm go! and It keeps cracking . My dad took me to the hospital in Hampton while my
mom called my aunt and asked her if she could interpret. When we got there I sat in a gray
wheelchair and got x rays. After a couple of minutes the doctorcame in and asked if he could talk to
my dad. My aunt went with him to interpret. A nurse came in and injected some medicine in my
hand for the pain. But while she injected the back of my hand, I heard the doctor say in the room
next door, It s either a cyst or cancer. I tried not

Theme Of Light In A Streetcar Named Desire
Light vs dark is a recurring theme in the play A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams.
This play circles around the main character Blanche and how she is trying to start a new life
leaving her past sins behind her. Slowly her past starts to catch up with her and eventually she has a
downfall in mental health and is sent away. Throughout this play there are many instances where
the lightand the absence of light affects the character Blanche. She finds comfort in the darkness
and it greatly influences her connection with reality, the relationship she has with Mitch, and her
slow mental decline.
The motif light vs dark is prominent because it affects relationships in the story greatly, most
noticeably Blanches relationships. When Blanche ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning of the play she is nonchalant about covering up light because she feels more put
together. She tells Mitch to put a little colored paper lantern... over the lightbulb because she can
t stand a naked lightbulb (Williams 60). This shows that she still cares about not being seen in
the light but not as much as later in the play. In scene 5 she refers to the lantern covering the
light but she says soft people have got to... put a paper lantern over the light... you ve got to be
soft and attractive. And I I m fading now, she s rambling about how she is not how she was in her
youth (Williams 92). She s stating that she needs that covering of the light to be the new , more
pure and innocent, person she is trying to be. Soon this darkness that she finds comfort in turns into
shadows of grotesque and menacing form, (Williams 159) haunting her thoughts as she is slowly
grown more insane from her past catching up to her. The darkness, which was once her safety net,
has turned into her nightmare. Light vs dark accentuates every aspect of Blanche s life and, in turn,
affects the people around her. The straining of Blanche s relationship with Mitch, her crumbling
mental state, and her detachment from reality are all seen through the motif light vs dark. Without
this recurring image there would be no lies and destruction of characters. The downfall of this
character is brought by her use of darkness

Examples Of Sexual Repression In Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
Sexual repression in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof Sexual repression is a psychological disorder where
people cannot admit their sexuality to others because they feel ashamed about it. Suppressing these
intense feelings can lead to emotional stress. Some will even feel the need to abuse substances as a
coping mechanism. The consequences of repressed sexualityare explored in the playCat on a Hot
Tin Roof, where author Tennessee Williams looks at homosexualityand alcoholism, two issues he
faced during his lifetime. Williams is able to express himself through the play s protagonist, Brick,
who struggles with these very same things. In the play however, Williams goes a step further by
looking at how repressed sexuality not only affects the individual,... Show more content on

Brick has difficulty accepting the fact that he might be gay and, as such, does not open up about
his feelings. This constant repression leads to a poor relationship between him and his wife that
lasts throughout the play. Brick s repression causes Maggie to feel confined, although she does
not seem to know why at first. In one scene in the play, Maggie tries to get Brick to talk about the
memory of his friend, Skipper, but he just replies by pouring himself a drink. She clearly tries to
facilitate Brick s opening up to her about his feelings but he simply turns to alcohol as the
constant cure to his problems. Brick, as well as many repressed homosexuals, suffer from
alcoholism as a consequence to repression (Sutton). Maggie does not approach Brick s sexuality
in a sympathetic way. She says, in reference to Skipper, You two had something that had to be
kept on ice, yes, incorruptible, yes! (Williams 44). Maggie explains to Brick which indicates that
she knew the true nature of Brick and Skipper s relationship and how Skipper s memory will
always be everlasting. She does not sympathize with him and reminds him that it should be kept on
ice , encouraging him to keep his feelings

The Between God And The Trinity
Trinity is the term used to explain the existence of the three natures of God in form of one. They
include God the head, Jesus the begotten son and Spirit of God. The belief gets different responses
from various doctrines and faiths. The term explains how the three exist in different ways but under
the same personality. To most Christians the trinityis a mystery as they try to figure out the nature
of three Gods in one. Jesus when he was on this earth emphasized on the trinity out to the whole
world and make people my followers, baptizing them in the name of the Godthe Father and of Jesus
and of Spirit of God. Mathew.28.29. The Catholic Church as a doctrine in particular also has its
stand in this mystery. The church in relation to the term trinity believes that there is unity in the
three Gods but they exist distinctly from each other. This means there are no three Gods but on
God in different forms. The term begotten is used to describe God the son that is Jesus the term
means like producing an offspring or making another breed of the original. Thus Jesus adopts the
office by being begotten by the God the father. Spirit of God is the third nature of God in the
trinity. He precedes the trinity by a way of spirit rather than generation
There is always a misconception from most people about the trinity and they perceive it differently.
They have misinterpreted the trinity to consist of three gods. This would display Christianity as
polytheism the belief in many gods.

The Pros of Being a Vegetarian
Pro Planet. Pro Animals. Pro Health: The Pros of Vegetarianism. Vegetarianism, is it just a fad, or
will it continue to cultivate and grow more mainstream than it is today? All signs are indicating
that it will, indeed, continue to grow. As many as 3.2% to 6% of the U.S. adult population is a
vegetarian (Parker 1). If one loves life, why not try vegetarianism? Having a vegetarian diet not
only saves animals, but also improves health and uses less of our planet s diminishing resources.
The earliest known practice of vegetarianism was in ancient Greece. Vegetarianism was encouraged
by the famous Greek philosophers, such as Pythagoras and Socrates. They stated that it was unclean

Eating just one pound of meat emits the same amount of greenhouse gasses as driving an SUV for
30 miles (Knopper 6). While it may seem small, but many people can truly make an impact on Earth
in reducing wastes and various harmful effects. Perhaps the most associated reason by non
vegetarians are the rights of animals. It has been reported that the average American will consume
nineteen thousand animals in his or her lifetime. There are many absolutely grotesque and
gruesome stories of animals waiting to die, stories that I will not divulge here, but the magnitude of
it is worthy of researching on one s own time. The ethical treatment of animals a moral that many

with the many other reasons; vegetarianism is too hard to turn a blind eye towards. Vegetarianism
has become mainstream in many ways because of the many celebrities that practice it. Some of the
more contemporary ones include, Carrie Underwood, Paul McCartney, Demi Moore and Ellen
DeGeneres. Albert Einstein has been quoted as saying, Nothing will benefit human health and
increase chances for survival of life on earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. Another
quote concerning vegetarianism that I personally found intriguing originates from Gandhi, It is
very significant that some of the most thoughtful and cultured men

Gene s Development in John Knowles A Separate Peace Essay
Gene s Development in John Knowles A Separate Peace
Throughout life, there is always a person who one strives to beat, be better than or rise above.
Little does each of them know that in the end the two actually make each other stronger. In John
Knowles novel, A Separate Peace (1959), he addresses just this. The novel, told from Gene
Forrester s point of view, is based on a friendship and rivalry between him and his friend, Finny,
during World War II. The two sixteen year olds attend Devon School, a private all boys school, in
New Hampshire. Finny, a very athletically talented youngster, continually but unintentionally causes
Gene to feel inferior and insignificant, producing inevitable anger and jealousy inside Gene. During

Little sorrow and sadness is expressed around school, even in Gene; no one talks about what
happened but everyone remembers, especially Gene. Throughout the novel, John Knowles strong
characterization of Finny results in a more developed and wiser Gene; in the end, Finny actually
makes Gene a better person.
One instance where Knowles uses characterization in order to achieve his purpose is when Gene
develops the feeling that Finny is trying to sabotage his chance of being head of the class,
valedictorian (41). Gene thinks since Finny is the best at sports, he also desires the need to be the
best scholastically, although he is a very poor student (44). This is Gene s explanation for
assuming that Finny deliberately set out to wreck my [Gene s] studies (43). Gene, enraged by
Finny s actions, figures the motive behind Finny trying to keep him so busy is to throw him off
track with his schoolwork. Although this incident caused much jealousy and rivalry in Gene, it
actually benefited him tremendously. Gene reveals, I became quite a student after that. . . . Now I
became not just good but exceptional (44).
Finny s strong and solid character is again evident the night of the tree jumping in which he fell
and broke his leg. Prior to the occurrence, Gene explodes when Finny automatically assumes Gene
will be present at the Suicide Society tree leap (46). Finny s thinking that studies can just be
abandoned at anytime infuriates Gene. Once Gene

Julius Cicero Research Paper
Marcus Tullius Cicero was murdered on December 7, 43 B.C.E. which was around the time of
the fall of the Roman Republic. Cicero was many things such as an orator, lawyer, politician,
philosopher, and writer. His writings, to this day, are a valuable source of information about such
political events and was widely read in the 19th century. He also was dubbed one of the greatest
philosophers of the ancient era. One of his greatest pieces was Hortensius. This writing was based
on himself turning away from his sinful life and moving forward to God.
1.Cicero s Life
Cicero had a great political career. He defied the odds of what it took to be in politics. Usually, in
politics, you need to aristocratic and wealthy. Cicero and his family were aristocratic; however,
they were not wealthy. Ambition at a young age is what drove him to this success.

about his philosophies. However, one piece that was well known was the Hortensius. In that
dialogue, he was known to have converted St. Augustine to be a Christian. Augustine then adopted
some of his philosophy on the Hortensius to argue against others that Christians were not the cause

Rate Of Amylase Lab Report
Purpose of Investigation To study how pH and temperature would effect the reaction rate for
amylase on starch.
Amylase is an enzyme found in human saliva and pancreas. It is the digestive enzyme that is
needed to breakdown starch molecules. Amylase must be kept at certain conditions to function at
its optimum level. The efficiency of starch digestion by amylase can be measured by how much
simple sugar it produces under various conditions. This experiment will explore the effect of pH
(3, 5, 9, and 11) on the function of amylase by using starch.
Hypothesis
Amylase have an optimal temperature and pH at which it functions. Amylase works best at pHs of

Factors that may cause the enzyme to denature are pH and temperature. When an enzyme is
denatured, it can no longer bind to the active site, and therefore cannot carry out its functions.
Therefore, adding pH buffer to amylase will affect the enzyme s function uopn its addition to starch.
Materials and Methods
Prepare 8 clean, dry test tubes in a stand and label them #1 8 with masking tape. Carefully and
generously spit into test tube 1 8 and add 2 3 ml of distilled water.

My Internship With The Neurology Department
The 8th floor of the hospital was unlike any other department I had ever worked at. It was not
always busy and loud like the ER, or cheerful like pediatric. The 8th floor always felt gloomy
with its dimly lit hallways and beige colored walls. I met Mr. Peter on the first day of my
internship with the neurology department. As an intern, I was in charge of feeding patients
breakfast and lunch among other responsibilities. Unlike other patients who were not able to
chew or swallow their meal properly, Mr. Peter always finished his food with a good appetite. He
used to request two orders of pancakes, one to eat during breakfast and the other for midafternoon.
Despite being blind, Mr. Peter constantly shared colorful stories of his travels from around the
world. My interest in medicineinitially began with a love for science. I was pursuing a Bachelor of
Science in Biology with a Chemistry minor, and I knew that I wanted to be a physician; one who not
only understood the science behind medicine, but who also knew how to connect with patients
on a deeper level. As the internship at New York Methodist progressed, I met patients who were
once healthy, but were suddenly restricted to their bed, such as the 35 year old English professor
who could no longer control her bladder or bowel movements, or the 48 year old nurse who lost
her ability to chew or swallow food. Mr. Peter was unlike these patients because he was stronger in
the sense that he didn t need his food to be ground

The Fashion Field As A Global Phenomenon
Chapter II
1. Introduction
In times where fashion is perceived as a global phenomenon, it seems easier than ever for people
to follow, consume and produce fashion from anywhere at any point of time. Media is spreading
what s hot and what s not within seconds all over the globe. A closer look at the mechanisms of
the creation of fashion from a practical and theoretical angel sheds light on the well guarded
boarders of this so called fashion democracy. Who decides the content of fashion? A simple answer
given, collectively repeated by those involved in the creation of fashion is talent. Without talent and
the right intuition fashion cannot arise and prosper.
In this essay a will give a brief outline of the fashion field, following the theoretical approach and
terminology of Pierre Bourdieu, and its structure which sets the limits to the democratic fashion
by unequally producing and distributing fashion talent. The resulting global disproportion of so
called talent is visible in the excessive attention New York, Paris and London receive as fashion
gatekeepers. Dubai, with its eyes set on 2020 to become the most prestigious fashion capital of
the world, struggles to compete with those giants. Hence, it applies a subversive strategy by
building a fashion education system to equip its very own local talent with the skills to advance in
the global fashion market. The effectiveness and constrains of this strategy I will examine on the
following pages and give a prospect of how

What Is The Social Responsibility Of Architect
Introduction
In the process of the good spatial generation, architects are representatives of institutional
knowledge and the captain of the ship . They have power and control over designing and
production of space either directly by taking part in this process via their personal practices or
indirectly affecting it through their professional organizations they work for. This is where the role
of professional ethics in architecture comes to play and they should be limiting and leading this
power through describing architect s social responsibilities and also should be preventing unethical

Architecture should ideally serve the people, but because of the clients control, this is hard.
Therefore architects have to choose between whether to serve the client or the people. ( What is the
Social Responsibility of Architects? , 2010)
Most believe that because the client is the one paying them, their building will be built their way
and the architect is there to serve them. This is how the building, which possibly had enormous
potential becomes THEIR building meant to serve no one, but them. Eventually these projects end
up as failures. How can a project not designed keeping the users in mind serve the users?
Others, like the TAR (The Architects Resistance, formed by students from Columbia, MIT, and
Yale in 1968) believe the architect should be building for the people even though this is usually
different than the client. ( What is the Social Responsibility of Architects? , 2010) Easy to preach
and hard to practice. Who said life is fair?
So what all does an architect need to know (in no specific order)?

  • 3. Mini Cooper Introduction Marketing communication is an ever changing field. New theories, new techniques, cultural changes and technological advances all combine to create a dynamic environment within which marketers try to ensure that their messages get through to their target audiences (Blythe, 2006, p.2). Fill (2005) argues that marketing communications is the way in which organisations reach their target audiences or it is an audience centred activity (Fill, 2005, p.9). This report aims to analyse the current marketing communication activities for one of the most recognised brands in the UK and the world, MINI Cooper. Levels of awareness, perception and attitudes towards MINI As Keller (1993, p. 3) argues, [...] perceptions about a brand as reflected by the brand associations held in consumer memory . Keller (1998) also suggests that there are three categories that constitute the overall brand perception: attributes; benefits and attitudes. A study conducted by Simms and Trott (2006) explores the brand perception of the MINI stakeholders. Based on their findings researchers established a model that gives a perspective on a product brand by linking specific brand associations to the image that is developed in the mind of the consumer or stakeholder, and finally linking this to how the image appeals to key stakeholders (Simms and Trott, 2006) . The application of their model to the MINI brand is presented in Appendix 2. . 2.1.3 Involvement The types of involvement that can be identified in MINI s customers are related to the so called product and ego involvement as the interest is mainly in the MINI itself, but also relates to the customers self concept (Solomon et al, 2006). What is more, MINI has become an icon and the level of involvement can be associated with cult products (Solomon et al, 2006). 2.2. • 4. Why People Emigrate From Their Native Countries Every year, most countries lose half of their population to migration. These countries are left behind in the areas such as developmental and economical growth. The government and the people living in that Country suffer the consequences such as low productivity and poor academic performance due to lack of qualified teachers. People emigrate from their native countries for economic, familial, and educational reasons. Economic issues are one of the reasons people emigrate from their native land to other Countries. One example, is the high cost of living and low wages in some native Countries. Most people in their native land are deprived of having easy access to the most common things such as food, electricity, and housing. The high cost of living often forces individuals to search for an alternative place to live leading them to emigrate to a place that is more affordable. Low wages also play a big role in migration. To elaborate, a teacher who teaches in high schoolin their native country obtains a much lower hourly wage and hardly any benefits than another teacher with the same qualifications teaching in a different country. When this happens, people in their native land have no choice but to emigrate to a country where they can get higher wages and better benefits. As a result, the country loses its people who would have helped move the country forward in terms of education and this results in poor academic performance of students who are in the country. • 6. Archetype Mother Goddess In The Hunger Games Being selfless is a characteristic that few people possess. Being concerned more with the needs of others is what heroism embodies. The narrative in the movie, The Hunger Games follows Katniss Everdeen s heroic quest as a tribute in the 74th Hunger Games of Panem. How does Katniss embody the feminine archetype mother goddessand how does a heros journey represent Katniss quest as a tribute in the Hunger Games? What is the feminine archetype mother goddess? An archetype is a personality type that is generally thought to be the greatest or purest example (Harris). Goddess is the female version of God. A goddess is the great Mother, she exists in all women, is beautiful even in her flaws, and she is a woman in touch with her own power to create and destroy (Jones ch. 3). The archetype mother goddess is actually several archetypes bottled up into one great archetype. The Great Mother personifies a caretaker, guide, nurturer, protector, and creator (ch. 3). A caretaker is a nurturer, who can take on the role of looking after another human being, is often protective, loyal, and sacrifice themselves for the greater good (ch. 3). In addition, caretakers are selfless, empathic, virtuous, true, incredibly strong and resilient (ch. 3). A creator archetype can give birth to new ideas, concepts, and things (ch. 3). Katniss demonstrates all of these qualities during her quest as a tribute. What is a hero and a hero s journey? A hero is an individual who has the courage of conviction to perform feats that benefit the general populace, acts as a soldier of virtue, and has an altruistic spirit that urges him or her to act against evil and defend the greater good at all costs, even sacrificing his own well being or life (Harris 2). Vogler reduced Joseph Campbells The Hero Journey to 12 Stages of The Hero s Journey. The following are Vogler s Stages of The Hero s Journey: 1. OrdinaryWorld7. Approach 2. Call To Adventure 8. • 7. Symptoms And Treatment Of Bacterial Resistance Essay As a surgical Technologist in the Operating room, I have witnessed first hand the destruction and suffering that bacteria can have on the body. Some infections only cause minor discomfort and inflammation. Other bacteria such as streptococcus can cause horribly debilitating diseases such as Necrotizing Fasciitis1. I have also seen that bacterial resistance can play a central role in the outcome of a patient and their future life. Resistance can even determine if a person lives or dies from a bacterial infection. This is in no way more present to me than in the life of my grandmother who, through years of diabetic complications and treatment, is now left with less than a handful of antibiotics that will work to treat her conditions. Dr. Keiji Fukuda of the World Health Organization said it best, Without urgent, coordinated action by many stakeholders, the world is headed for a post antibiotic era, in which common infections and minor injuries which have been treatable for decades can once again kill. 2 With how many people that have infections today, the topic of antibiotics is of utmost importance. The aim of this paper is to look at the history of antibiotics, how they work and why they are not working now, and the possibility of better antibiotics in our future. HistoryAntibiotics themselves are relatively new in the history of health and medicine. In order to better understand antibiotics we must first understand how we developed them. • 8. The Prime Minister Of Canada In 2014 Pierre Elliot Trudeau, the 15th Prime Minister of Canada, was listed in CBC s Top 10 list of Canadian Heroes; but was Trudeau really a hero? Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Royal Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism was released in 1967, giving recommendations to the federal government on steps to be taken for equality across ethnicities. The primary recommendation was for the implantation of a policy for official bilingualism, making both English and French of equal importance in Canada (Language rights and judicial wrongs: Official bilingualism jurisprudence in Canada s provincial courts. Pg 11). The report also recommended that bilingualism be increased in all of the provinces. Once Pierre Trudeau gained office one of his first things on his agenda was to bring in the Official Languages Act (OLA) in 1969, making both French and English equally recognized in Canada. Trudeau did not support the nationalists in Quebec with their goal of separatism and this was his way to make French Canadians feel they were of greater importance to the county (Language rights and judicial wrongs: Official bilingualism jurisprudence in Canada s provincial courts. Pg 12). Trudeau saw that this policy should strengthen national unity in Canada through various ways. It was thought that making the French speaking of equal importance as the English speaking in Canada it would reduce the rising pressure coming from Quebec to separate from Canada.. • 9. An Internet Protocol Address ( Ip Address ) Essay 7.1 Description: An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. What is an IP address IP address is a shorter way of saying Internet Protocol address. IP addresses are the numbers assigned to computer network interfaces. Although we use names to refer to the things we seek on the Internet, such as www.example.org, computers translate these names into numerical addresses so they can send data to the right location. So when we send an email, visit a web site, or participate in a video conference, our computer sends data packets to the IP address of the other end of the connection and receives packets destined for its own IP address. Why do we need IP addresses IP addresses are the numbers that enable our computers, servers, telephones, cameras, printers and sensors to communicate with each other. Without IP addresses, we would have to copy data from device to device manually, using CDs, DVDs, hard disks or flash storage, such as a USB drive. But more importantly, our devices could not send data to each other without human intervention. Without the IP addresses assigned to our computers, we would have to send paper letters and memos instead of sending emails. There would be no streaming video sites. Instead, we would have to send each other discs and tapes. Worst of all, we would not be able to order items online and would have to go to stores to buy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Victims Rights and Restorative Justice Introduction Agreeing on a definition of restorative justice has proved difficult. One definition is a theory of justice that focuses mostly on repairing the harm caused by criminal behaviour. The reparation is done through a cooperative process that includes all the stakeholders. Restorative justice can also be explained as an approach of justice that aims to satisfy the needs of the victims and offenders, as well as the entire community. The most broadly accepted definition for restorative justice, however, is a process whereby all the parties that have a stake in a specific offence collectively resolve on how to deal with the aftermath. This process is largely focused around reparation, reintegration and participation of victims. That... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 13. Phar Lap Essay Questions Phar Lap the movie, produced by John Sexton, is relatively accurate to historical fact. This is largely due to the good representation of the horse himself and those closely involved with him. History is not conclusive itself and the film is vague in the corresponding areas. The producers showed the horse very accurately. Phar Lap, played by Towering Inferno, is a very similar colour of reddish chestnut. As seen in the later part of the film at Agua Caliente, he is shown to be taller than most of the horses. His behaviour is also very similar to fact as well. It was known he would pull hair and shirts of stableboys, so the scene of the first meeting Tommy Woodcock is entirely possible. Other characters are also portrayed accurately. Phar Lap s main jockey, James Jim Pike are also shown quite accurately. The jacket colours were real as Phar Lap did race under different two different themes. The event did occur from a car but exact weapons and style, for example drive by or stationary, are vague. The producers may have fictitiously embellished the story here. The Agua Caliente race in America is also relatively close to fact. Phar Lap did race in new shoes, although not exclusively shown in the film, with a split hoof. Empowerment of your employees has the ability to turn your organization around and make it more successful than it previously was. In some organizations employee empowerment is absolutely needed. They type of organizations that need employee empowerment are basically any business that has employees who have to work together as a team. Empowerment also does not just mean to ask your employees their opinion, empowerment of your employees means to not only seek their opinions but implement them as well(Goetsch Davis, 2014). To gain approval from management, I would first highlight why I believe it would be beneficial for the organization. I would put dramatic emphasis on why I feel every employee should feel empowered. Employees who are empowered are employees who value their position and actually work harder to meet their goals(Goetsch Davis,2014). After I stated the importance need for having an empowerment overhaul with our employees, I would then zone in on the things that keep the organization operational. Employee empowerment gives the organization the opportunity to get the information from employees that deal within the organization all day. The employees know what needs to be changed in order for things to run more smoothly. Showing management that employee empowerment can grow their business while at the same time making their employees feel valued is important. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The exigence for this ad is that the company feels not enough people are buying this brand of tampons due to the many other brands that sell similar products. The reason behind this is, as opposed to every citizen going to the polls and voting on each public issue, we have elected officials that vote based on their constituents preferences. Since it is the people that elect these representatives, it is critical that public opinion be taken into consideration. However, regardless of how we gather our data, bias often makes it difficult to accurately gauge public opinion. Public opinion can be defined as the collective opinion of many people on some issue. When it comes to elections, party members attempt to estimate a candidate favorability by polling the public using different techniques such as: calling, online surveys, panels, and exit polls. The Role Of Water Security In The Jordan River Basin Abstract The scarcity, depletion and polluting of water in one of the world s driest regions, is a problem that has perplexed the nations of the Middle East for decades. The riparian states of the Jordan River Basin include Israel, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. These states are in a constant struggle over securing water rights for their respective states. The conflict over water is also overshadowed by the Arab Israeli issues and the subsequent territorial questions. Choices of conflict or cooperation will have to be made, given the diminishing amounts of water available. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many countries are also highly dependent on water that originates outside their borders; the water diversion provided by dams for countries that are downstream exacerbates an already serious problem. The diversion of river systems is an area of international concern, the nature and extent of such interdependency is already extensive: 145 countries share over 261 international river basin. As demand increases, and as indigenous sources of water become fully utilized or exhausted, the only alternatives are likely to be international (Dolatyar, 2006). Ironically, the very solution of one country s scarcity, plunges another into water shortage, this is the reason why water security is one of the most crucial foreign policy considerations of a globally connected economic and political atmosphere. Water as a source of conflict When one thinks of turmoil in the Middle East, oil is often the first thought, however, water has begun to be a problematic area, both internal and international. However, the cause for water scarcity does not only depend on conditions within its borders (Giordano, Giordano Wolf , 2004). The Church of the Brethren opposes abortion because the rejection of unborn children violates the love by which God creates and nurtures human life (1984). My opponent is required to be a creationist who believes in a worldwide flood. He can not however, just ignore problems and say that God did it. He can t used faith as a justification for belief, and must prove it with evidence. Of course, positive claims require positive evidence, and that is what I expect. Meteorology and Thermodynamics Leonard G. Soroka and Charles L. Nelson in their Physical Constraints on the Noachian Deluge examined four separate methods for flood waters, being rain, hypothermic springs, and two types of cometary impact. None of them work, due to excessive energy and heat. Rainfall Model The amount of water presently in the oceans is about 1.37 billion cubic kilometers, and to cover all the high mountains of the earth would require 4.4 billion additional cubic kilometers or approximately 3 times the amount of water present in the oceans. Not only would this make the air unbreathable due to it being 99.9% water vapor, atmospheric pressure being 840 times what it is now. Then take the latent heat of vaporization, when a kilogram of water vapor condenses and 2.26 million joules of energy are released. This is what powers thunderstorms and hurricanes. Both leaders use supernatural things and outside influences to establish fear over their society. Jack uses constantly the beast to his own advantage. He often makes allusion of it to scare his tribe, as it is shown when he says the beast might try to come in (Golding 177) to his guards. Music is the art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre (American Heritage). One important component of analyzing music is whether it has musical value. In other words, music does not have to be organized sound or produced by instruments. In the last hundred years, many composers and music artists experimented with other noises and sources of sound. Composers such as Luigi Russolo and George Antheil used sirens, whistles, anvils, and machines to create sounds in their musical works (Ewen 95). In the 1930s through 1950s, some composers began to experiment with new types of sounds in music. The composer Edgard Varese felt that music had to be freed of all the inhibitions that centuries of tradition and rules had imposed upon it (102). Personally created instruments are also used in experimental music. One of the composers who devised his own musical scale and instruments was Harry Partch (158). He experimented with the new, unique instruments that he created to produce new music of strange and different sounds. John Cage, a composer, wrote a piece for a toy piano. Experimental music can use new, invented instruments and unconventional instruments. Many different items that produce sound have been used in experimental music. Harry Frankfurt s book On Truth is relevant to the political storm that is brewing in American society due to the manipulation of the truth by political figures and mainstream media. Frankfurt approaches the importance of truth in a unique fashion and vilifies lies and those who spread them. This directly relates to the election year and how the truth is shrouded in mystery. Jesus when he was on this earth emphasized on the trinity out to the whole world and make people my followers, baptizing them in the name of the Godthe Father and of Jesus and of Spirit of God. He defied the odds of what it took to be in politics. Usually, in politics, you need to aristocratic and wealthy. Cicero and his family were aristocratic; however, they were not wealthy. Ambition at a young age is what drove him to this success. Cicero chose his career in law. He needed to prepare for this by studying jurisprudence, rhetoric, philosophy, and also taking ... In some centuries, he was dubbed to be one of the greatest philosophers and on the other hand, he wasn t that great of a writer. Philosophy, at the time, was popular in Greece, but not so much in Rome. They were more concerned about politics and their governance. In order for philosophy to appeal to the Romans, he had to translate his writing from Greek to Latin. Cicero wrote many different dialogues about his philosophies. However, one piece that was well known was the Hortensius. In that dialogue, he was known to have converted St. Augustine to be a Christian. Augustine then adopted some of his philosophy on the Hortensius to argue against others that Christians were not the cause to the fall of the Roman empire. This related to the work that was done after Caesar took over the Empire. People started to blame others and Augustine tried to turn their views ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. Rate Of Amylase Lab Report Purpose of Investigation To study how pH and temperature would effect the reaction rate for amylase on starch. Amylase is an enzyme found in human saliva and pancreas. It is the digestive enzyme that is needed to breakdown starch molecules. Amylase must be kept at certain conditions to function at its optimum level. The efficiency of starch digestion by amylase can be measured by how much simple sugar it produces under various conditions. This experiment will explore the effect of pH (3, 5, 9, and 11) on the function of amylase by using starch. Hypothesis Amylase have an optimal temperature and pH at which it functions. Amylase works best at pHs of body temperature in humans. If the pH deviates extremely in either direction (higher or lower) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Factors that may cause the enzyme to denature are pH and temperature. When an enzyme is denatured, it can no longer bind to the active site, and therefore cannot carry out its functions. Therefore, adding pH buffer to amylase will affect the enzyme s function uopn its addition to starch. Materials and Methods Prepare 8 clean, dry test tubes in a stand and label them #1 8 with masking tape. Carefully and generously spit into test tube 1 8 and add 2 3 ml of distilled water. Effect of Temperature 1. Place test tube 1 into a room temperature bath, place test tube 2 into an ice water bath (0), place test tube 3 into warm water bath (37) and place test tube 4 into a hot water bath (80). 2. Add 5ml of 1% starch solution into test tubes 1, 2, 3, and 4. Mix the starch solution with the saliva thoroughly. 3. After 10 minutes, conduct the Benedict s test. Add 3 ml of Benedict s reagent and swirl the test tubes gently to mix the contents. Place the test tubes into the hot water bath and record observations after 5 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. My Internship With The Neurology Department The 8th floor of the hospital was unlike any other department I had ever worked at. It was not always busy and loud like the ER, or cheerful like pediatric. The 8th floor always felt gloomy with its dimly lit hallways and beige colored walls. I met Mr. Peter on the first day of my internship with the neurology department. As an intern, I was in charge of feeding patients breakfast and lunch among other responsibilities. Unlike other patients who were not able to chew or swallow their meal properly, Mr. Peter always finished his food with a good appetite. He used to request two orders of pancakes, one to eat during breakfast and the other for midafternoon. Despite being blind, Mr. Peter constantly shared colorful stories of his travels from around the world. My interest in medicineinitially began with a love for science. I was pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Chemistry minor, and I knew that I wanted to be a physician; one who not only understood the science behind medicine, but who also knew how to connect with patients on a deeper level. As the internship at New York Methodist progressed, I met patients who were once healthy, but were suddenly restricted to their bed, such as the 35 year old English professor who could no longer control her bladder or bowel movements, or the 48 year old nurse who lost her ability to chew or swallow food. Mr. Peter was unlike these patients because he was stronger in the sense that he didn t need his food to be ground ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. The Fashion Field As A Global Phenomenon Chapter II 1. Introduction In times where fashion is perceived as a global phenomenon, it seems easier than ever for people to follow, consume and produce fashion from anywhere at any point of time. Media is spreading what s hot and what s not within seconds all over the globe. A closer look at the mechanisms of the creation of fashion from a practical and theoretical angel sheds light on the well guarded boarders of this so called fashion democracy. Who decides the content of fashion? A simple answer given, collectively repeated by those involved in the creation of fashion is talent. Without talent and the right intuition fashion cannot arise and prosper. In this essay a will give a brief outline of the fashion field, following the theoretical approach and terminology of Pierre Bourdieu, and its structure which sets the limits to the democratic fashion by unequally producing and distributing fashion talent. The resulting global disproportion of so called talent is visible in the excessive attention New York, Paris and London receive as fashion gatekeepers. Dubai, with its eyes set on 2020 to become the most prestigious fashion capital of the world, struggles to compete with those giants. Hence, it applies a subversive strategy by building a fashion education system to equip its very own local talent with the skills to advance in the global fashion market. The effectiveness and constrains of this strategy I will examine on the following pages and give a prospect of how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 55. What Is The Social Responsibility Of Architect Introduction In the process of the good spatial generation, architects are representatives of institutional knowledge and the captain of the ship . They have power and control over designing and production of space either directly by taking part in this process via their personal practices or indirectly affecting it through their professional organizations they work for. This is where the role of professional ethics in architecture comes to play and they should be limiting and leading this power through describing architect s social responsibilities and also should be preventing unethical attitudes in all kinds of spatial practices by using this power and knowledge. The architect, who works for the client, portrays and tries to work around the views of that client. Architecture should ideally serve the people, but because of the clients control, this is hard. Therefore architects have to choose between whether to serve the client or the people. ( What is the Social Responsibility of Architects? , 2010) Most believe that because the client is the one paying them, their building will be built their way and the architect is there to serve them. This is how the building, which possibly had enormous potential becomes THEIR building meant to serve no one, but them. Eventually these projects end up as failures. How can a project not designed keeping the users in mind serve the users? Others, like the TAR (The Architects Resistance, formed by students from Columbia, MIT, and Yale in 1968) believe the architect should be building for the people even though this is usually different than the client. ( What is the Social Responsibility of Architects? , 2010) Easy to preach and hard to practice. Who said life is fair? So what all does an architect need to know (in no specific order)? What the client thinks he wants. What the client ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
