Students are evaluated on their media literacy skills based on a rubric with criteria for information literacy, digital citizenship, and ICT (information and communications technology) literacy. For each criterion, students can perform at an unsatisfactory, proficient, or advanced level. At the proficient level, students can access and evaluate information from multiple sources, recognize issues of safe technology use, and use technology to organize and illustrate concepts. The advanced level indicates more independent research skills, weighing consequences of unethical use, and collaborating remotely using technology.
