2. I am Rica Danielle R. Caberto.
Taking Bachelor of Secondary
Education Major in Filipino in
Bulacan State University.
3. To orient the learner to the pervasiveness of educational technology.
To lend familiarization on how educational technology can be utilized as the media for the avenues
teaching-learning process in the school.
To uplift the learner to human learning through the use of technology
To impart skills in planning, designing, using and evaluating the technology-enriched teaching
learning process.
To acquaint learners on basic aspects of community education, functions of the school media center.
To introduce the learner to what is recognized as the third revolution in education… the COMPUTER.
Educational Technology 2
4. 21st Century is to promote student-centered learning.
technology is a tool, a way for fact-based learning and allows students to do a lot of
the research using the internet and various tools.
Technology can be used to enhance critical thinking and critical literacy skills,
evaluating the legitimacy and accuracy of online content is the central part of 21st
century education.
Digital media can be kind of medium at the push of a button which can give
students a voice when they wouldn't otherwise have been heard, and at the same
time as I mentioned before about critical thinking I feel that students also need to
be told about how to deal with criticism, how to give criticism and how to deal with
a host of other issues concerning self-esteem with online content.
technology can be present at every stage of education process from the
introduction and the research to the project making to the presentation.
technology is not just about interactive whiteboard or computers other examples
include digital cameras, digital microscopes, 3-D printers as well as things like
microphones and projectors as well.
5. Solution Fluency
•Our education system has taught problem-
solving in a show-and-tell manner (we show
students the problem, and tell them how we got
the answer) that has fostered a culture of
dependency, rather than discovery.
Media Fluency
• the ways we communicate continue to
evolve intellectually, emotionally, and
technologically.
Information Fluency
•there's more than you'll ever need out there. The
skills you need to not only search for
information, but to create useful knowledge that
will help you effectively solve real world
problems.
Creativity Fluency
•the power of creativity adds meaning to
virtually every product and organization in
existence using innovative design, visual
appeal, and storytelling.
Collaboration Fluency
•one of the strongest assets any student can have
is the ability to work well within a team.
collaboration with participants that are both real
and digital is a hallmark modern workforce
Digital Ethics
The right way of using
technology, internet or social media.
6. Online instructors can use technology tools to create activities that help
students develop both lower-level and higher-level critical thinking skills.
Reflection activities.
Reflection activities provide students with opportunities to track their
learning and demonstrate their progress throughout the semester. To enhance
the level of critical thinking students do through reflective activities, tell
students to cite course materials that have helped them advance their
knowledge and thinking.
Discussion forums.
Discussion forums allow students to communicate with their peers,
answer questions that require them to demonstrate both lower-level and
higher-level critical thinking skills, and analyze course content. When
instructors set clear guidelines for participation and model critical thinking
skills through their participation in discussion forums, students can also
demonstrate how they are engaging in the critical thinking process.
7. Small group activities.
Small group activities allow students to communicate,
problem solve, hear different perspectives, and collaborate
analyze and synthesize course content. By assigning small
group activities, instructors can engage students in multiple
levels of critical thinking.
Digital Storytelling Activities.
Telling digital stories allows students to use
multimedia (images, audio, video) to present information.
Digital stories can include 1) personal narratives, 2) stories
that document events, and 3) stories that inform and
Creating digital stories allows students to evaluate, reflect
or analyze course content (Robin, 2006, Digital storytelling:
powerful technology tool for the 21st century classroom).
8. The teacher can employ computer as an:
Information Tool
Communication Tool
Constructive Tool
Co-constructive Tool
A Situating Tool
9. Information Tool
The computer can provide vast amounts of information in various forms , such as text,
graphics, sound and video.
Constructive Tool
The computer itself can be used for manipulating information, visualizing one’s
understandingand building new knowledge.
Co-Constructive Tool
Students can use constructive tools of work cooperatively and construct a shared
understanding of a new knowledge.
Stituating Tool
By means of virtual reality ((RS) extension system, the computer can create 3-D images on
display to give the user the feeling that are situated in a virtual environment.
10. There is no longer much debate about the
need to integrate technology into our classrooms. It
is clear that technology can and should play a
significant role in how we help students develop the
skills they need to be successful in today’s
competitive, ever-changing global workplace. The
challenge is that many teachers have not had the
education and training necessary to fully leverage
the power of technological tools to improve
teaching and learning.
11. I have learned the evolution of technologies that paved throughout
the classroom, From then on up to the 21st Century, I can tell that the
progression of the instruments needed for classroom to achieve the learning
desires is quite impressive. From the printing press, library, chalkboard,
overhead projectors, and now, the Technology.
Obviously, the main concern here is the technology. But not the
typical use of internet, or not the way on how the students can acquire the
computer skills because it is not a computer subject. However, the real thing
that talks about here is that how the teachers can incorporate the technology
and Internet with the successful learning. We all grew up with the traditional
set-up of classroom, which, I suppose that everything the teacher used is
almost out-dated and obsolete. So, this subject will serve as an eye opener to
the future mentors like me, on what is in nowadays, the proper teaching in
which appropriate to the needs and desire of the modern students.
