June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

music magazine?

The first question I have created was to see what colours people expect to see for a
magazine of this genre. Out of the 12 people who took part, I got 26 votes of 10
colours. Out of the 26 votes, the colour black was mentioned 8 times, and also red
was voted 7 times. These two colours are clear winners, so therefore I will include
these colours based on my research. The colours grey, gold and silver were the
next leaders. Although based on my magazine conventions research, I tend to see
the colour white and grey be used a lot. Therefore I am challenging the results of
the questionnaire and deciding to include white and grey as a side colour to my
magazine.
2. Question two was asking about famous artists within the genre to be featured. A
whopping 91% of people said “yes” and will like my magazine to feature famous
artists like Drake and Chris Brown.
3. The third question was about the interests in clothing trends. 58% of
people said that they are interested in clothing trends. This result is not a
really marginal win thereby I may include some bits of new clothing and
fashion.
4. Question 4 was asking whether if interviews and gossip sections of
magazines get read. Although 41% of people said none of the above, 33%
said both. Therefore I am going to take a risk and put both gossip and
interviews. This is because the magazines I have read on Hip-Hop all consist
of these two aspects.
5. The 5th question on my questionnaire was about the amount of pages people
expect to see in a Hip-Hop magazine. The answer which got picked the most
was 26-36. Although the second highest answer was 15-25 and this was not
behind by a long margin. So therefore I will probably aim my production to the
people of ages 15-36. The other results did not get voted as much so therefore I
am going to ignore them and focus my publication to the 15-36 year olds as my
results show.
6. The 6th question I asked was about the actual content about the magazine. I
decided to ask if they were interested in new technology. This was so I can gain
an understanding about if the customers will like to see new trending
advertisements of technology inside the magazine. As the results show that
84% of people mentioned that they like new technology so thereby I will
consider including adverts about new technology due to the results of this.
7. Q7. What type of adverts would you like to see
within a Hip-Hop magazine?
This question was an open question about what
content people expect to see in a Hip-Hop
magazine. In general, people said that like
new tech and fashion, concert
dates, gadgets, upcoming singles/albums and
also a taster of what may come in the future.
In general I believe all of these answers can
relate to Hip-Hop magazines as the content I
have seen in magazines relates to this kind of
stuff.
8. Q8. What Hip-Hop magazines have
you read previously?
This was also an open question. A lot of people
said that they had never read any other HipHop magazines, however I did receive some
results. XXL, MoJo, I am HipHop and also Vibe
was mentioned. These magazines are really
famous successful ones, and I believe that
following what they do in order to create a
magazine will lead me to success as well.
9. Question 9 was about the advertising inside magazines. A shocking 78% of
people said that they do not like to see adverts within magazines. However
from my research, many magazines had at least 10 pages worth of
advertising inside. In conclusion I will include some magazines so I tick both
boxes. I will also advertise things which my audience are interested in.
10. The last question on my survey was about the gender of artists included on my
magazine. 78% of people said that they like to see both female and male artists
within the magazine. From this whopping result, my magazine will be aimed at
both genders and consist of both genders.
