The document discusses how the main product (a music video) is effectively combined with ancillary texts (a CD digipack and poster). Both the digipack and poster feature photographs linked to the music video to increase awareness of the product. The poster specifically features the dancer from the video. Color and editing were used on the poster and CD cover to appeal to the target genre audience. A QR code was included on the poster to allow easy access to the music video from smartphones. Bright colors and futuristic editing on the CD cover were intended to draw attention and relate to the genre's modern sound. The combination of products is aimed at promoting the music video and increasing the popularity of the artist.
Lightning Talk #9: How UX and Data Storytelling Can Shape Policy by Mika Aldabaux singapore
How can we take UX and Data Storytelling out of the tech context and use them to change the way government behaves?
Showcasing the truth is the highest goal of data storytelling. Because the design of a chart can affect the interpretation of data in a major way, one must wield visual tools with care and deliberation. Using quantitative facts to evoke an emotional response is best achieved with the combination of UX and data storytelling.
Succession “Losers”: What Happens to Executives Passed Over for the CEO Job?
By David F. Larcker, Stephen A. Miles, and Brian Tayan
Stanford Closer Look Series
Overview:
Shareholders pay considerable attention to the choice of executive selected as the new CEO whenever a change in leadership takes place. However, without an inside look at the leading candidates to assume the CEO role, it is difficult for shareholders to tell whether the board has made the correct choice. In this Closer Look, we examine CEO succession events among the largest 100 companies over a ten-year period to determine what happens to the executives who were not selected (i.e., the “succession losers”) and how they perform relative to those who were selected (the “succession winners”).
We ask:
• Are the executives selected for the CEO role really better than those passed over?
• What are the implications for understanding the labor market for executive talent?
• Are differences in performance due to operating conditions or quality of available talent?
• Are boards better at identifying CEO talent than other research generally suggests?
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

This presentation provides a briefing on how to upload submissions and documents in Google Classroom. It was prepared as part of an orientation for new Sainik School in-service teacher trainees. As a training officer, my goal is to ensure that you are comfortable and proficient with this essential tool for managing assignments and fostering student engagement.
1. How effective is the COMBINATION
of your MAIN PRODUCT and
ANCILLARY TEXTS?
2. My digi-pack and poster also have key links to the forms
and conventions of my chosen genre. The photo graphs
used on both are linked to each other and also the video,
however not obviously as all are in different settings. By
using a shot of ballet shoes in a dance studio and also an
empty dance studio on my front and back CD covers, there
is a clear link to the music video. When relating this to
marketing, this is key as it means the CD case can be easily
paired with the video, increasing the awareness and
popularity of the product.
3. My magazine advertisement poster also has a
clear link to my music video, mainly because
the figure in the picture is the dancer in the
video. This again, like the digi-pack allows a
clear link between the products, increasing
awareness and popularity. Furthermore, the
picture has been taken in a changing room.
This develops the ideas of the video further
as it shows the situation moving between
different settings, however still creating the
same emotions; frustration and agitation.
The changing room also links closely to the
dance studio and the dancer herself, as they
are all factors in the subject of dance.
4. It was vital however, that my products still linked to the
genre of music, as otherwise I would not attract the right
audience. In order to make this possible, colour and
editing was vital in the production of my poster and CD
cover.
5. I chose to make my poster dark with
a slight sepia tint, with the same font
throughout as that of the band
name. The sepia tint creates a darker
tone, linking to the emotions shown
throughout the music video.
Furthermore, it enables the centre
piece of the article to be the dancer,
without any distractions or other
possible key figures, to draw back
her importance. On the poster I
included ratings from different
newspapers and music magazines.
This gives the poster a genuine feel
about it, and would be designed to
encourage listeners of the genre to
have a closer look at the product.
6. Another key addition to the poster was the scan bar in
the lower left hand corner. I decided to include this as it
strongly relates to the target audience and general
audiences of the modern day. Smart phones and other
technologies are widely used throughout modern society,
and by including a possible scanner code, it allows the
reader to listen to or watch the music video whenever
they want wherever they want. This also gives my
product a sense of realism, and in real life, would make it
that much more popular.
7. For my CD cover, I edited the chosen picture a lot, putting
three stripes of very bright colours over the top of it,
bordered with a black and white edge. The bright colours
relate to the style of the genre, making the product look
modern and almost futuristic. This is linked to the genre
as it is the kind of editing that is widely used on products
and throughout music videos, linking to the ideas of
modern audiences, lots of editing and a very new,
futuristic sound.
8. The colours used on the CD cover are also very eye catching.
This is another highlight with marketing as in order for people
to pick up a CD or stop and check it out of iTunes or Spotify,
the cover needs to draw in the target audience. This is
another simple way to increase the popularity of the product,
and make it noticeable.
