2. Magazine Advert
Firstly I took a screen grab from my music video, the same
image used on the front cover of my album to show synergy
and cross media fluency. I then cropped this down to portrait
dimensions in order to be able to fit into a magazine.
Secondly I decided to change the overall image colour to sepia
by changing the colour settings. I then decided to blur the
image around the edges, similarly to within my digipak to
create the main focus to be on the girl herself.
Thirdly, (in linking with my album) to keep theadvertas simple
as possible and be mostly focused on the music (generically
the trait within indie music), I added a basic font for the name
of the band along the top of the frame in the chalkboard font
used previously in my digipak. By using this, it again looks just
thrown together last minute and laid-back, reflecting the style
of music the album will showcase. I added the name of the
band, album title, release date and a high rating from a well
established indie music magazine.
3. Final Outcome
My album cover is shown in sepia to add an even
more artistic and vintage look to the image, whilst
also creating some difference between this advert
and the digipak despite them being the same image
and linked together. This has created all of my
products to be easily linked by the audience and feel
familiar with the layout and concept.
The font is in chalkboard again continuing from my
digipak to embrace a laid-back ambience whilst still
being very simple and easy to read, only showing
the information which is vital and needed by the
audience to be able to buy the product with
satisfaction.
The use of blurring the edges again creates a more
professional feel and highlights the main character of
the music video storyline, exaggerating that this
music video is a huge part of the promotion of the
song and can give a whole new aspect to the
product.
