2. There are many ways in which companies go about
promoting their products:
Products like a new album from an artist may be
advertised on TV or on the radio. There is a need to
have air time and for their work to be played publically
in order to gain interest in their product, meaning more
sales. Things like television and radio will be widely
broadcasted and will make a huge impact on the
success of the album, so much so that the company will
pay great amounts to make this happen – in hope that a
huge profit will be made.

3. The use of posters and print advertisement also impact
greatly on an albums success. These can be placed into
magazines and billboards, bringing a visual of the
album and the artist, along with persuasive text to
interest more people to buy the product. Some may be
interested as soon as they see the certain artist
displayed in front of them visually.
To go alongside my own music video, I created both a
digipak and an advertisement poster. The poster
includes an image of the artist and the digipak is full of
images of the main character in my music video. These
both give a hint to what the music video is like.

4. I have presented both ancillary tasks in a subtle comic
book style, complimenting the theme in the music
video: superhero/comic book fantasies. Some may even
be intrigued simply by the comic style if they are
interested in comics/superheros, then they may well
seek out the video out of curiosity. Both ancillary tasks
also have aspects of green that stand out the most
which directly links to the main character in the music
video, a girl dressed in a green cape and mask. Even if
someone were to download the music rather than buy
it, the cover art will still remain with it, still giving the
material some identity and relevance, and it will always
link back to the music video made to accompany the
music track.

5. However, the poster and digipak are only a small
portion of the large promotional campaign when it
comes to advertising music videos. Our target audience
is of an age range who prefer internet technology. Such
products or films can be promoted virally and to a huge
scale over the internet and on mobile phones. A very
important aspect of synergy is having a website, which I
have included on my poster. Having a website allows
them to share song samples, video extracts,
photographs, interviews, features and even
competitions. Giving fans the opportunity air their
views also creates a feeling of ownership, resulting in
them being more likely to invest in the product and buy
it.
