Music magazine
By Alex Preece.
Genre I have chosen.
• I am going to create a classical/orchestra
music magazine.
• Magazines that are similar to what I want to
achieve already out their?
Why have I decided to create it.
• The sub-genre I am going to pick for my magazine will
be Orchestral/Classical due to the fact I get the most
expression of emotions through this music as
Orchestral usually connotes the feeling of power and
accomplishment sometimes love; classical connotes
the feeling of rest and love.
• I am fascinated by the fact that you can feel so many
emotions just from listening to sounds without words
and that it has helped me through a lot giving
overpowering emotions to fight those bad occasions.
Is there a gap in the market for your
magazine?
• Yes because there is a very small niche amount of
classical/orchestral music magazines already out
there.
• There is a lot people with classical music interest.
• I am planning to make it attractive to the younger
generations, rather than the middle aged by
showing music within movies that are popular
amongst teenagers of now and younger people
playing classical musical instruments.
What institution would produce your
magazine.
• BBC may consider producing my magazine due
to their commitment to the performing arts.
• Rheingold might produce my magazine due to
the fact it could bring the money in and they
are such a large company they can afford to
do this. However it would end up being a
sister magazine to the current magazine
Classical fm.
Target Audience
•

My target audience for this particular genre of music is fairly Niche.

•

This music appeals more towards mid aged people.

•

orchestral music seems to be getting a wider interest of ages such as teens through the use of movie soundtracks.

•

My Target Audience will be 16 to 22 years olds.

•

they will be more likely to know what it is they want out of life and what they enjoy.

•

They will most likely have a part time job which would earn enough money to pay for the magazine.

•

They will have more experience and understanding of the genre.

•

People who may also be interested in buying the magazine.

Manufactures of Orchestral musical instruments.
Style of magazine.
For my Mode of address this will consist of a Formal Language formality due to the
Brand identity; Colors I have chosen and the age of the Target Audience.
My Brand Identity will consist of Grand Colours such as Silver and Gold; the reason I
have chosen these is because I feel these colors relate to the type of people that
would play the kind of instruments used in this music while I feel that it connotes
power which could also be what gold connotes as nowadays the more gold you have
normally the more powerful you are. I will have three colours, Gold, Silver and Blue.

Images I will be using will have to relate to my Sub-genre.
For the central image I shall think about taking a Picture of a Male Student or Female
Student standing inside a old/grand looking building such as a castle.
For the outfit of the magazine I will get someone to possibly wear something smart to
stick with the theme and also try and make it look a lot more casual so that it can grab
the attention of teens as well, (Casual Smart) or Old Style (Period costume).

  • 2. Genre I have chosen. • I am going to create a classical/orchestra music magazine. • Magazines that are similar to what I want to achieve already out their?
  • 3. Why have I decided to create it. • The sub-genre I am going to pick for my magazine will be Orchestral/Classical due to the fact I get the most expression of emotions through this music as Orchestral usually connotes the feeling of power and accomplishment sometimes love; classical connotes the feeling of rest and love. • I am fascinated by the fact that you can feel so many emotions just from listening to sounds without words and that it has helped me through a lot giving overpowering emotions to fight those bad occasions.

Is there a gap in the market for your magazine? • Yes because there is a very small niche amount of classical/orchestral music magazines already out there. • There is a lot people with classical music interest. • I am planning to make it attractive to the younger generations, rather than the middle aged by showing music within movies that are popular amongst teenagers of now and younger people playing classical musical instruments.

What institution would produce your magazine. • BBC may consider producing my magazine due to their commitment to the performing arts. • Rheingold might produce my magazine due to the fact it could bring the money in and they are such a large company they can afford to do this. However it would end up being a sister magazine to the current magazine Classical fm.

Target Audience • My target audience for this particular genre of music is fairly Niche. • This music appeals more towards mid aged people. • orchestral music seems to be getting a wider interest of ages such as teens through the use of movie soundtracks. • My Target Audience will be 16 to 22 years olds. • they will be more likely to know what it is they want out of life and what they enjoy. • They will most likely have a part time job which would earn enough money to pay for the magazine. • They will have more experience and understanding of the genre. • People who may also be interested in buying the magazine. • • • • Intellectual people who enjoy reading Instrumental players Students for research – media, art, music Manufactures of Orchestral musical instruments.

  • 8. Style of magazine. For my Mode of address this will consist of a Formal Language formality due to the Brand identity; Colors I have chosen and the age of the Target Audience. My Brand Identity will consist of Grand Colours such as Silver and Gold; the reason I have chosen these is because I feel these colors relate to the type of people that would play the kind of instruments used in this music while I feel that it connotes power which could also be what gold connotes as nowadays the more gold you have normally the more powerful you are. I will have three colours, Gold, Silver and Blue. Images I will be using will have to relate to my Sub-genre. For the central image I shall think about taking a Picture of a Male Student or Female Student standing inside a old/grand looking building such as a castle. For the outfit of the magazine I will get someone to possibly wear something smart to stick with the theme and also try and make it look a lot more casual so that it can grab the attention of teens as well, (Casual Smart) or Old Style (Period costume).
