This document outlines a proposal for a music magazine targeting late teens and people in their early-to-mid 20s. The magazine would focus on indie and rock music genres, featuring bands like Kasabian, Muse, and The Fratellis. It would use bold colors like black, red, and yellow in its visual design and feature clothing brands like Topshop and River Island. The magazine aims to appeal to both male and female readers interested in attending concerts and festivals who are passionate about this genre of music.

2. Music style and popular artists
 I have decided to base this magazine
around more an indie /rock music style ,
therefore it can reach a wider audience. I
have decided to pair the two as they are
two genres that often mix and most of the
time seem to have a similar audience.
There are many bands today that fit in with
this genre of music from the all over the

3. Visual iconography
For this I have decided that I will use quite bold
striking colours for example blacks, reds
and yellows as they stand out a lot and
also , they are very popular colours used
by artists of this genre on things like CD
covers, name/logos and posters.

chosen audience I asked which clothes
stores this audience was more likely to
shop in. My over all result showed that my
particular audience are more likely to shop
in stores like topshop, river island and

4. The demographic
 I have decided to base the target age
between late teens and mid 20’s . I have
decided this as I believe that this genre of
music is very popular for people of this age
in the UK.
 I have also decided that I want this
magazine to appeal to both male and
female readers as this genre of music does
appeal to both genders and I believe this
way the magazine will attract a mass
audience.
 I also think that this magazine would be
aimed at young adults that like to attend
many concerts and festivals and that are
very passionate about this genre of music.
This will relate to my magazine as I could
have different sections of the magazine
related to concerts and festivals.

5. House style
 I believe that images for this type
of magazine can be quite
different as in some cases they
can be quite mellow and relaxed.
But in other circumstances they
can be very lively and in your
face for example if there was an
image of a band playing live
 I have also decided that it is
important that in almost every
picture the person has eye
contact with the reader as it
draws them in
 I think for this magazine I would have
a very bold and striking Layout and
have things like distorted text as it
would make it look more professional
and more appealing.
