Improving Workplace Safety Performance in Malaysian SMEs: The Role of Safety ...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: In the Malaysian context, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) experience a significant
burden of workplace accidents. A consensus among scholars attributes a substantial portion of these incidents to
human factors, particularly unsafe behaviors. This study, conducted in Malaysia's northern region, specifically
targeted Safety and Health/Human Resource professionals within the manufacturing sector of SMEs. We
gathered a robust dataset comprising 107 responses through a meticulously designed self-administered
questionnaire. Employing advanced partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) techniques
with SmartPLS 3.2.9, we rigorously analyzed the data to scrutinize the intricate relationship between safety
behavior and safety performance. The research findings unequivocally underscore the palpable and
consequential impact of safety behavior variables, namely safety compliance and safety participation, on
improving safety performance indicators such as accidents, injuries, and property damages. These results
strongly validate research hypotheses. Consequently, this study highlights the pivotal significance of cultivating
safety behavior among employees, particularly in resource-constrained SME settings, as an essential step toward
enhancing workplace safety performance.

“To be integrated is to feel secure, to feel connected.” The views and experi...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: Although a significant amount of literature exists on Morocco's migration policies and their
successes and failures since their implementation in 2014, there is limited research on the integration of subSaharan African children into schools. This paperis part of a Ph.D. research project that aims to fill this gap. It
reports the main findings of a study conducted with migrant children enrolled in two public schools in Rabat,
Morocco, exploring how integration is defined by the children themselves and identifying the obstacles that they
have encountered thus far. The following paper uses an inductive approach and primarily focuses on the
relationships of children with their teachers and peers as a key aspect of integration for students with a migration
background. The study has led to several crucial findings. It emphasizes the significance of speaking Colloquial
Moroccan Arabic (Darija) and being part of a community for effective integration. Moreover, it reveals that the
use of Modern Standard Arabic as the language of instruction in schools is a source of frustration for students,
indicating the need for language policy reform. The study underlines the importanceof considering the
children‟s agency when being integrated into mainstream public schools.

Enhance your social media strategy with the best digital marketing agency in Kolkata. This PPT covers 7 essential tips for effective social media marketing, offering practical advice and actionable insights to help you boost engagement, reach your target audience, and grow your online presence.
2. TITLE
• ‘Folk Punk’
• Because I feel like the magazine needs to have a
sharp focus and in order to have a sharp focus I
feel like I should title it after the genre so then
people know exactly what to expect.
3. FREQUENCY OF PUBLISHING
• Once a month, based on the fact that 28% of
people were willing to buy a music magazine
which I thought was a considerable amount. Too
frequently wasn’t desirable.
4. COVER PRICE
• My results show that I was flexible on price with
many people willing to pay over £2. However, I am
going to set it at £2.50 because a 30% majority were
only willing to pay up to £2 and so I decided I will
try push these people up a little bit by 50p, but not
too much where they will find it too expensive. I
felt I could push the price up over £2 because of
the fact that so many people would have paid over
it. If the magazine was popular I could perhaps
then raise the price afterwards.
5. GENRE
• Folk Punk, based on the fact that it is a niche
market and is on the rise at the moment with
such bands as Mumford and Sons and the
Dropkick Murphy’s. I also have someone who I
can interview who played in a band that played
this genre. Moreover, I have a bit of knowledge
myself in the folk and punk genres.
6. READER PROFILE
• Luke, 17, is a music lover that has a wide range of
hobbies and interests. From going out with friends,
to sitting and writing music, he has a very outdoor
and productive lifestyle. He has a positive view of
the music industry. My reader has a negative view
on politics and is looking for a change to society.
Luke likes the traditional things about Britain such
as English breakfast and the British accent. He likes
to have a sense of a community life, being very
sociable in his actions. Luke has a positive outlook
on life and is an overall optimistic person.
7. READER PROFILE
• Key facts:
• 94.4% were from 15-25.
• 55% female, 45% male.
• ABC1 category.
8. EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL IMAGES,
ARTICLES, FEATURES, REGULARS
• Every month, I will have a features section in
the middle dedicating a few pages to the main
band featured in this month’s edition. The
feature band will have to be a more well-known
band to the genre, because the feature is what is
going to attract people to the magazine and
what the reader is going to want to know about.
I will have a few regulars to my magazine as
well.
9. EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL IMAGES,
ARTICLES, FEATURES, REGULARS
• For example I will have a music advice section which will
give the reader top tips about how to succeed in the
industry. Another, Is that I will have a day in the life
section, where a band member or a solo artist will do a
diary of what they do on a certain day and this person
will change every month, depending on who we have. I
will also have an editor’s section where he will discuss a
different musical topic every month. When I write my
articles, I want my interviews to be in a story form, where
my story tells the interview within it. That way my
audience can have a more sophisticated read.
10. EXAMPLES OF ARTICLES
• Examples of articles I might include in my
magazine could be articles about:
• The Dropkick Murphy’s, The Pogues, The Men
They Couldn’t Hang, The Whisky Priests, etc.
• Alternatively about Cambridge Folk Festival,
Galtres Festival, Rebellion Festival, etc.
12. EXAMPLE OF A COPY
In January 1987 The Whisky Priests appeared on one of the very last editions of
the now legendary music programme 'The Tube'. Later that year their debut
single 'The Colliery' was released.
The band's first serious line-up recorded two 12" EP's in 1988, independently
released on Gary & Glenn's own newly-formed Whippet Records label, serving a
hard-touring apprenticeship which took them all over the UK. This was the
foundation for the bands future success.
"They deserve to be heard by millions." B-Side, USA.
The highly rated band created a strong fan base across Europe, who would
follow them around for a 19 year career. The Whisky Priests have earned their
reputation on their ability to write lyrics for all to relate to, and with their ability
to produce a fantastic live show, their legacy still lives on today.
"Live the band is in great form: energetic, full of atmosphere and inspired." Oor
Pop Encyclopedia, the Netherlands.
Rumours are that The Whisky Priests could reform for one final tour but only
time will tell.
16. CHARACTERS IN MY MAGAZINE
On the front cover of my magazine I will have a
picture of my Dad from the Whisky Priests.
Then on the contents page I will have small
pictures of some friends from college who will
pose as musicians in upcoming bands.
Then on the double page spread I will have a
picture of my Dad again.
17. COSTUMES IN MY MAGAZINE
I will have all of my actors dressed in their casual
every day clothes, as I want the magazine to appeal
to the every day average person and so I want the
characters to reflect a normal lifestyle that they
lead outside of the music world.
18. PROPS IN MY MAGAZINE
The props in the magazine will reflect my target
audience so for example there will be images of iconic
British things and of outdoor things as well as these
will be things that will subconsciously attract my
target audience to the magazine.
Other props will be musical instruments so for
example my dad will have his accordion because my
magazine will also want to be heavily musical related
because this is what my magazine is and so I have to
reflect that through the props and the imagery.
19. LOCATIONS IN MY MAGAZINE
For the front cover picture I will want a picture of my dad
in a musical environment, perhaps with instruments around
him as if he is playing at that very moment. So a musical
room might be an option.
For the other actors in the contents page, they will be in a
location that will fit their everyday lifestyle. So, someone
might be sat on a bench in a park and another in a library-
somewhere which is a natural place for someone to be.
For my double page spread, the main picture will also be in
a natural location because it matches the clean and natural
feel of my magazine.
20. SETS IN MY MAGAZINE
I have decided not to have any sets in my
magazine because if I create something, it will go
against the natural feel I want for my magazine.
Moreover, I think that I can take all my shots in
location and I would only use sets if I couldn’t
find a location I wanted.
21. LIGHTING IN MY MAGAZINE
I want my lighting to be natural lighting. Although,
I want the pictures to be more dark than light
because a light picture would contrast too much
with the dark colours of my magazine.
