The Book Of Revelation By John When He Was On The Isle
Of...
The book of Revelation was written by John when he was on the Isle of Patmos.
This book is the only book in the Bible that is made up entirely of apocalyptic
writing. Revelation appeals to the imagination and provokes visions of the coming
of the Lord. There are many symbols and numbers found in the scriptures that are
significant to end times. This book is revealing to us what will happen in the latter
days when God will bring the world to an end. The judgement is contained in a
scroll that is seven times sealed and only the Lamb is worthy to open and read it
(Knowles 701). The phrase seven sealsrefers to the seven symbolic seals that secure
the book and when the Lamb broke each seal, a judgement is released or an
apocalyptic event occurs.
The opening of the first seal is described in Revelation 6:1 2, And I saw when the
Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of
the four beasts saying, come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he
that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth
conquering, and to conquer. (The Thompson Chain Reference Bible, King James
Version, Revelation 6:1 2). According to Matthew Henry, the white horse signifies
purity. It was during a time when the Heavenly Father sent his witnesses to teach all
nations. The crown represents the Divine nature of the religion, while the bow
represents being spiritually armed against their foes. The second seal was

How to Heal Blisters Fast
Blisters begin as fluid filled sacs resembling fleshy bubbles on the skin, and
quickly develop into painful blisters that can appear on any part of the body, but
particularly on the hands, feet, and occasionally even on the face. The boil like
feature contains a fluid like substance that is often mistaken as water, and is caused
by a variety of reasons including physical activity, stress, sweating, and breaking in a
new pair of shoes. The first thing people want to know is how to heal blisters fast.
How to Heal Blisters Fast:
With proper and careful treatment, most blisters can be healed successfully. However,
if the blister is large or painful you may need to drain it before treatment. In order to

To use an Aloe Vera plant, cut the tip off and let the natural liquid of the plant seep
to the surface. Then apply the plant juice directly on the blister. Continue the
process until the blister heals. Aloe Vera creams can also be purchased
commercially from a pharmacy. Variations of Aloe Vera treatment for blood
blisters include adding vitamin E oil in equal amounts with Aloe Vera and applied
directly to the blister. While blisters on the lips are best treated with 2 drops of
grapefruit seed extra and a teaspoon of Aloe Vera applied directly to the blister.
в—ЏApple Cider Vinegar:
Another way of how to heal blisters fast is the use of apple cider vinegar. This
vinegar has strong antibacterial and antifungal properties facilitates faster healing.
Simply mix a half cup of apple cider vinegar with 3 teaspoons of castor oil and apply
it to the blister several times a day.
в—ЏSoak It In Green Tea:
For blisters that have swollen, Green Tea has anti inflammatory properties to help
bring down the swelling. Just boil 3 tea bags, and toss in a teaspoon of baking soda
(anti septic). When cool, soak the afflicted area in the tea and baking soda for fifteen
minutes. If you have difficulty soaking the area, just apply the mixture directly to the
blister with a cotton
Last Night At The Lobster Analysis
Stewart O Nan s Last Night at the Lobster presents the role of women as a guiding
force on one s decisions. O Nan illustrates many instances in which the protagonist,
Manny De Leon, struggles between doing what he wants to do and what is right.
Whether these struggles be in regards to trivial or substantial conflicts, Manny
repeatedly struggles in making smart decisions. O Nan utilizes these instances to
portray Manny s inability to decide for himself. The protagonist s lack of conscience
juxtaposes the role of women both within Last Night at the Lobster and in
contemporary times.
O Nan s inclusion of a poem by Luis Alberto Urrea about vatos and their abuelitas on
the very first page of the novel promptly suggests the significance of mother figures
within the novel. O Nan presents Manny s abuelita numerous times within the story;
she plays his conscience, both advising him and reprimanding him as he misbehaves.
The role of Manny s grandmother in this novel parallels to the Urrea poem in which
his abuelita represents compassion and balance, a quality that he would like to
repudiate but accepts as he acknowledges its importance. O Nan alludes to the role of
his grandmother as Manny contemplates stealing money in the safe at the Lobster for
the first time. Despite his strong temptation, mere thoughts of his grandmother telling
him that it s just green ink on paper, and not worth a man s honor (7) prevents him
from following through with this urge. Manny, although challenging
Discuss The Impact Of Globalization On American Football
Globalization has long been attributed as one of the main factors contributing to the
overwhelming popularity of football around the world. Through this process of
global diffusion, football has managed to reach across borders and cultures to amass
an astounding 3.5 billion fans from all over the world (McGowan). Globalization has
also provided football with another gift: migration. This particular effect is
highlighted in European football with the rise of increasingly diverse national teams.
Immigration in Europe has always been substantial, but after World War II many
Western European countries saw an increase of people crossing their borders.
Migrations to various European countries have continued to rise exponentially in the

There was a definite loss of identity as Germans tried to move on from the war. The
rebuilding process was not going to be easy. And as history had it, it took a miracle
for the German people to finally be able to claim a new national identity. The West
Germany national team s win in the 1984 World Cup was the start of a new era for
the German people, it mark[ed] the beginning of Germany s rebirth as a gradually
more self confident nation... (Krauss 3). Thus their national team became their new
source of national vitality and symbol of strength. When Germany became officially
reunited in 1990, the West German national team had just won another World Cup
months before, marking a historic moment in Germany with another, and
strengthening the connection between football and Germany. This is still true today,
but the team that won the country s first World Cup and the team that won their most
recent 2014 World Cup could not be more different. That squad boasted an impressive
selection of foreign heritage players. Among them were Mesut Г–zil (Turkey),
JГ©rГґme Boateng (Ghana), Lukas Podolski and Miroslav Klose (Poland), Shkodran
Mustafi (Albania), and Sami Khedira (Tunisia). The demographic changes in
Germany that have been happening for a while have finally achieved representation

Technology, Abstraction and Ideas of Nature
Coming to terms with modern architecture, we must read through such seminal
statements through their sensibilities and societal myths which they exemplify. Now,
we shall explore parallel themes to do with new myths of modernity, poetic
expressions of technology, the reemergence of abstraction, and analogies between
architecture and other realms such as minimalist sculpture, landscape art and nature.
Architecture oscillates between the unique and the typical where the old and new
may reunite in unexpected ways. Example, the Navarro Baldeweg s Congress Hall in
Salamanca which underlines the complexity of ideas, fantasies, memories and
aspirations that may operate in a single function. If this interconnections work on the

Part from his exchange with painters, sculptors and conceptual artists, part from his
direct engagement with ordinary techniques of construction in which he found
extraordinary possibilities of expression. Spiller House in Vernice, California (1979)
in which angled planes and tilting volumes introduced visual tension and ambiguities
while materials, as found, were handled in a deliberately casual way which exposed
the process of assembly. Another route towards fragmentation and abstraction lay
through the works of neo modernist such as Richard Meier and Bernard Tschumi.
Richard Meier established a signature style that was characterized by layers of wall
planes and transparencies, fractured structural grids, interpenetrating ramps and space
of vying luminosity. All these devices were all on display in the Museum fГјr
Kunsthandwerk in Frankfurt (1981 5). The Parc de La Villete (1984 9) by
Bernard Tschumi revealed another aspect of the neo modernist stance. His basic
strategy of co ordinates, sinuous lines and boundaries suggested a latter day
version of Kadinsky s elements of abstract painting or perhaps the score for an
avant garde film in which the same shot pieces were repeated in different montages.
The site recalled past mechanistic fantasies such as Tchernikov s sketches of around
1929. The cubic follies were like giant toys scattered across the grass. Rem Koolhass

Essay On The Mexican American War
What is the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo of 1848 and how did it affect the US and
Mexico
Introduction
Stuck between 1846 and 1848, the US and Mexico (two neighbors) went to battle,
which was a crucial affair for the two countries, thus massive renovation of the
region. The way was essential in the generation of a new identity for the people.
Following the end of the war, Mexico lost approximately half of its territory relating
to the present American Southwest from Texas to California. The war was vital in
enabling the United States to become a continental power in the context of North
America.
Background Information The hostilities between Mexico and the United States began
in 1846 prior to its continuation until 1847. According to the historical accounts,
Mexico did claim the Nueces River as its northeastern boarder. On the other hand, the
US claimed the Rio Grande River (McCaffrey, 1994). The troops from Mexico and
the US met at the Rio Grande on April 25, 1846 prior to the Mexican army firing at
the troops of the USA. This was the onset of the Mexican American War. The
Mexican American War associates with various struggles relating to land, legal
rights, and political power within the region. The region of interest has since been
one of the most dynamic economic, as well as politically significant regions of ...

From this number, it is essential to note that only 1,700 US deaths related to the
battle. Most of these deaths came from the disease outbreaks in the camps. The entry
of the United States troops in the Mexico City in 1848 ensured that the Mexican
American War was that close to the city. Some of the battles in relation to the
Mexican American War include (Woods, 2013) the Capture of Monterrey, the Battle
of Palo Alto, Quitman s Attack, Entrance into the City of Mexico, and Occupation of
Heteroglossia
Heteroglossia Langue and linguistic variation
Bakhtin developed the notion in contrast with the structuralist account of language,
which was centered in the notion of langue, that is, the systematic set of rules
determining the well formedness of an expression or utterance. This concept,
introduced by Saussure, emphasised the notion that the code conformed by the
linguistic norms must be common to all speakers for communication to be possible.
This was seen as a dangerous simplification by Bakhtin, who asserted that languages
are internally divided, not simply into regional dialects, but also into many different
strata, corresponding to all possible axes of social division; he thus posited a
minutely nuanced variety of class , ethnia , ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He defines heteroglossia as another s speech in another s language, serving to express
authorial intentions but in a refracted way. Bakhtin identifies the direct narrative of
the author, rather than dialogue between characters, as the primary location of this
conflict.
Languages as points of view
Bakhtin viewed the modern novel as a literary form best suited for the exploitation
of heteroglossia, in direct contrast to epic poetry (and, in a lesser degree, poetry in
general). The linguistic energy of the novel was seen in its expression of the conflict
between voices through their adscription to different elements in the novel s discourse.
Any language, in Bakhtin s view, stratifies into many voices: social dialects,
characteristic group behavior, professional jargons, generic languages, languages of
generations and age groups, tendentious languages, languages of the authorities, of
various circles and of passing fashions. This diversity of voice is, Bakhtin asserts, the
defining characteristic of the novel as a genre.
Traditional stylistics, like epic poetry, do not share the trait of heteroglossia. In
Bakhtin s words, poetry depersonalizes days in language, while prose, as we shall see,
often deliberately intensifies difference between them...

How Did The Soviet Union Affect Poland
The Soviet Union was intent on taking over more and more countries in Eastern
Europe in order to spread the concept of Communism. After World War II, twenty
million Russians died during the war, and Joseph Stalin, the leader of the Soviet
Union wanted to make changes. He wanted to create a buffer zone of friendly
countries around the Soviet Unionto make sure they would never again be invaded.
His goal was to takeover Eastern Europe. The Soviet Union s takeover of Eastern
European countries such as Poland, Hungary, and Romania had a negative impact on
these countries because the economy and the general welfare of the citizens suffered.

A Research Study On Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism Spectrum Disorder, more commonly referred to as Autism, affects one out of
68 chil dren and young adults (Autism Science Foundation, 2016). The spectrum
ranges from mild to severe. While there are set characteristic traits to determine
whether or not a person is autistic, these traits vary tremendously among different
people; no two autistic children are alike. The traits these individuals possess and the
actions caused by the characteristic, influence how other family members and
caregivers respond to the autistic individual. This paper will examine case studies
and articles that illustrate the effectiveness of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) in
tervention techniques for autistic individuals. Looking at ABA and the different
tools and in tervention methods that therapists have at their disposal, will
demonstrate how early interven tion and family education are the biggest keys to
aiding an autistic client in adjusting to the world around them in a meaningful way.
Two different case studies will be reviewed; one fo cusing on how to identify and
provide effective treatment plans based on a brief analysis, the other examines how
involving the family can reduce the frequency of behavioral problems. Applied

Southern Masculinity in Faulkner s The Unvanquished
The narrator of Faulkner s The Unvanquished is apparently an adult recounting his
childhood. The first person narrator is a child at the story s outset, but the narrative
voice is lucid, adult. Telling the story of his childhood allows the narratorto
distinguish for the reader what he believed as a child from what he know[s] better
now (10). The difference affords an examination of dominant southern masculinity as
it is internalized by Bayard and Ringo, and demonstrates the effects on the boys of
the impossible ideal.
The initial indication that narrator Bayard may be an adult recounting his childhood
comes with the past tense in the story s opening line: Behind the smokehouse ... Show

As children, neither Bayard nor Ringo would possess the capacity for critical
thinking necessary to employ the linguistic precision demonstrated above.Children
think more abstractly, in grander and simpler terms. For example, they may take
role models unreflectively; Bayard and Ringo play act as General Van Dorn and
General Pemberton, but they obviously do not understand why these men are their
heroes. Based on what they have been told, and wholly independent of reality, the
boys have constructed a General Pemberton that represents good and a General
Grant that represents evil. By rule, Bayard plays the good guy twice for every
single time Ringo gets to. The unfairness of this rule is apparently as lost on the
boys as the idea that in the context of this game, Grant would make a more suitable
good guy for Ringo.
The disparities in their relationship are apparently unnoticed by both Bayard and
Ringo. They think that they are equals. They had been born in the same month and
had both fed at the same breast and had slept together and eaten together until they
felt like brothers. They are not brothers, though. When Sartoris comes home in spring,
both boys run to meet the man they look up to as a father, and they enter, Bayard
standing in one stirrup with Father s arm around me, and Ringo holding to the other
stirrup and running beside the horse (8). Later we find that the boys do sleep
together, Bayard on a bed, and

Battered Wife Syndrome
Abuse continues to be a significant problem nationwide, shattering the lives of many.
It is hard to imagine the domination that the abuser exercises over the abused, the
danger that they feel, and the violence and fear that traumatise them. Violence is not
a private matter. One cannot draw the curtains and forgive and forget, society must
intervene and offer help and comfort. However, sometimes the help offered can be
inadequate and illogical. Battered wife syndrome (a condition created by sustained
physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse, which creates a variety of physical and
emotional symptoms) has been used as a defence in murder cases in which women
have killed or harmed their abuser. Although expert testimony regarding battered...

However this self defence does not warrant in death or critical injuries. There are
almost always non violent routes one can take and in the case of abuse there are
many options, such as using the law to ones advantage, taking up residence in a
safe house and calling for help. It may not be easy to find the courage to leave but
if one has been able to survive the detrimental effects of abuse, then one can have
the audacity to leave. Options that harm people become morally unacceptable
when less harmful options exist. Murder can never be morally permissible. It can
be excused, but not justified. There is an extreme difference. If we ever allow
murder to be morally permissible, we violate the most basic right, the right to life.
The respect of human life achieves morality, while using deadly, deliberate force
against repeated cruelty does not. Although the abuse victim may be robbed of
liberty and happiness, they still have the opportunity to regain it because they are
alive. Life provides the opportunity to exercise all other rights, and therefore, it is
more valuable than all other rights. A victim s use of deadly force would therefore
be disproportionate and morally impermissible as the victim becomes everything
they are hiding from. If violence begets violence, it is only a matter of time before
civilized society distils down into anarchy. The battered wife
Essay Perception of God and Evil by Augustine of Hippo
Augustine of Hippo (354 430) is among the most influential thinkers in Christianity.
He contributed a great number of ideas and notions to Christian theology that would
have lasting effect on belief systems in Christian churches. One of his most notable
contributions is the notion of original sin and his concept of evil. These notions
evolved over the years. Augustine traces their evolution in his Confessions, a thirteen
volume autobiography he wrote when he was in his forties.
An essential part of Confessions is Augustine s conversion to Christianity and his
evolving understanding of good and evil. In book seven of Confessions, Augustine
describes his perception of God before his conversion to Christianity. He explains that

Significantly, Manichaeism perceives of God and his evil antagonist, Satan, as being
restricted to the world. This notion appealed to the young Augustine, as he struggled
to comprehend how anything like evil could exist. He seek out Neoplatonic books
only to conclude that it shares similar Manichean teaching where evil represents
physical matters like the body. However, Neoplatonism helped him realize a new
understanding of God existing in an intelligible realm.
After his conversion to Christianity, Augustine came to think of God not just as a
spiritual being but also sovereign over all beings, which is a clear rejection of the
Manichaeistic worldview. The lyrics to Carman s The Champion sum up Augustine s
notion of God quite nicely, when they state, Of the war between the lord of sin and
death, And the Omnipotent Creator of man s first breath, Who will decide who will
forever be the Champion ( The Champion second stanza).
God is according to Augustine the single sovereign, who rules over everything, even
the evil forces in the universe. This sovereignty is grounded in Augustine s
understanding that God created everything. This assumption ultimately solves the
question why evil exists. It exists because God created it, just like he created
everything else. Augustine suggests that everything God creates in inherently good.
However, creatures can become evil because they are prone to corruption (Mann 44).
Furthermore, rational beings have

By the year 1869 when the first transcontinental railroad was done, 350,000+
pioneers had taken the trip on the Oregon Trail. Several of these people were
women and most of the women were accompanied with children (Pioneers West
Women). Many men just told their wives that they were going to go start a new
life in Oregon (or one of the other places that the pioneers went to) (Pioneers West
Women). In other families, women had a big influence on whether or not they
went on the Oregon Trail (Pioneers West Women). Many women kept diaries or
journals explaining their life on the trail, they would write in them when they had
some downtime (CJonline.com). Education wise, men usually left it to the women.
But some of them couldn t read, so they couldn t read the Bible to them (or any
book for that matter). Even before starting the Oregon Trail journey, the wagon had
to be packed. That task usually fell to the women, (naturally,). Packing the wagon
usually started with making a list of the most basic things. This, for the women,
was the first hardship. They found out that personal items didn t mean as much as
the necessities and that they couldn t take them with. The things that were deemed
unneeded were sold off to help pay for the trip west. Most women on the Oregon

Note that companies are only allowed to represent themselves in small claims court.
All other courts require an attorney.
When the lawsuit has been filed and served, the party owing the money has 20 days
to respond. A default judgment can be sought against them if there is no response.
Should they respond with an answer , then you enter into litigation and will be
fighting for at least a year while spending lawyer fees that you might never get back.
In some instances, there might be a settlement in the case but there will be the time
and money costs involved even to get to that stage.
I don t usually discourage clients from fighting for what s right, they have to face the
reality that litigation is a time consuming and costly process. Most of my clients are
small business owners and a lawsuit can cripple them due to the high costs as well as
the time it takes them away from doing their actual business.
Most lawyers state that unless the amount owing exceeds $50,000, it isn t worth
suing since most of your time and money will go into attorney fees in an attempt to
recover money that you might not be able to ultimately collect.
Therefore, you should really think about the suing option if you are owed money.
Going with a collections agency is another alternative; however, the majority of
collection agencies will not take on your cause unless you are able to prove in
writing that that money is owed to you.
So what should you do?
Hindutva Essay
Hinduism Hindutva is a popular concept in India that represents Hindu ideology and
promotes the hegemony of Hinduism in government, even at the expense of others.
Directly translated as Hinduness , Hindutva was established as an official term made

that it is greatly similar to fascism in the sense that it oppresses the beliefs and

formerly known as the Untouchables, called Dalits. According to academic scholars
like Dr. Ram Puniyani, Hindutva mainly represents the response of higher caste
Hindus to the uprising of the lower castes; additionally, it is the primary cause of
Saffron terrorism in India and Nepal (Falak). Divisive politics are progressively
isolating classes from empathy which is counterproductive when attempting to create
peace for all people since it condones violence against the lower castes. These
inequalities are also apparent beyond the realm of socioeconomic struggles and cause
discriminatory violence in the name of
Leadership, Leadership And Leadership Development
There are two kinds of people in this world, followers and leaders. Followers are
the people that never take a leadership role in any activity. They are more valued by
followers and have higher performing teams. (Cherry 2014) However, leaders are
the ones that use their leadership skills to make a difference in this world, such as
presidents, teachers, or even college graduates. Leadershipis not something you can
learn from a book, but you have to gain this skill through experiences such as holding
an office, organizing an event, speaking in front of people, or participating in a
leadership program.
If leaders are simply born that way then what is the point of leadership
development. The answer perhaps creates controversy because the answer is
simply both. Clearly there are those who have certain abilities that allow them to
more easily assume leadership roles while others of us work to develop the
necessary skills. The reality is that each person is unique in their skills and abilities
as is each leader. One may be charismatic while another is empathetic, one may have
clear vision another remarkable communication skill. We all have a different mix of
skills and abilities that allow us the opportunity to lead. Genetic endowment may
merely influence the rate at which domain specific expertise is acquired without
imposing any upper or lower bounds on attainment. (Simonton, 2007) While some
leaders definitely have a genetic advantage on leadership, and may find
The Ups and Downs of the Sexual Movement Displayed in...
The short story Lust by Susan Minot details the life of a high school girl who has
succumbed to the pressure of her surroundings. The pressure of sex by her peers
and all of the boys she came across led to the multiple sexual encounters that make
up this story. This realistic view on the teenagers of the early 1970 s shows the ups
and downs of sexual movement of the 1960 s. In Lust , Susan Minot shows the
reality of a teenage girl s life throughout her high schoolyears and the problems her
actions give her as she gets older. Janet M. Ellerby analyzes Lust in her essay titled,
Lust . In this essay, Ellerby goes through and gives a brief but accurate summary of
the short story. Then she gives her interpretations of what this story... Show more

There is even one encounter where she goes on a camping trip in Colorado and she
sleeps with a guy in their zipped together sleeping bags (Minot 102). The fact that
the young people of this time were allowed to just roam around unsupervised, just
further aided their sexual desires. In the beginning of the story, the narrator s
accounts were completely casual and it was obvious that she thought nothing of it.
The first few stories were just a few brief sentences that basically described who
and where. Leo, her first, was described in one sentence. In the spring before the
Hellmans filled their pool, we d go down there in the deep end, with baby oil, and
like that (Minot 98). The first few stories had an almost monotonous tone about them
and there was definitely no kind of emotion or feelings between the two of them. In
Janet Ellerby s essay, she compared the stories of the narrator s encounter to a
grocery list (Ellerby). At that age, sex was just something that all of her friends
were doing and so she felt like she had to do it too. She did not realize that there
were emotional ties to it. At that point sex was just sex and there was nothing else to
it. As the story went on though, there was a sense of emotion and feeling in her
accounts and they became a little more detailed. After the first few brief descriptions,
the next few encounters seemed
The Role Of Sports In The 1920 s
Modern sports has evolved and taken pieces of culture from many different
decades throughout American history, but it is clear that the 1920 s out of all
decades had the biggest impact on sports overall. The 1920 s was the Golden Age
for the growth of sports because this time period included the need for escapism,
racism in sports was at a high, and the nation was currently in economic prosperity.
To begin, the 1920 s is considered the Golden Age for the growth and development
of sports because the need for escapism was introduced during this time period. After
a long and hard war, most Americans were eager to forget the war and to move on to
something of more worth. For Americans in general, participating in and watching
sports events became... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time period, many racial remarks and ideas were still surfacing
throughout the country. Although slavery had been abolished, segregation still
occured. This segregation was greatly showed throughout all aspects of many
different sports. During the decade, Jim Crow laws prevented most gifted black
athletes from participating in the American Dream of success that was so much
apart of sports culture (Sports 3). This quote is proving how Americans clearly
discriminated against blacks throughout sports culture. Another important idea
shown here is that even gifted athletes who excelled in sports were frowned upon.
If people at this time really wanted high level sports competition, racism and
segregation would have been ignored and citizens would play to play. This idea is
proved by the quote, African Americans, generally speaking, were not allowed to
compete with whites (Sports 3). Blacks proved that they could compete with whites
in rebellious ways, which eventually led to racism through sports disappearing
completely. Blacks found a remedy. Since professional baseball excluded black
athletes, African Americans founded, owned, and operated the Negro National
Baseball League (Sports 3). This is just one of the many ways that blacks during this
time period proved themselves worthy enough of playing and

Analysis Of Bathers By Neil Mcclelland
During Neil Mcclelland s artist talk, I was really inspired by the way he working with
traditional materials and contemporary elements at the same time. Meanwhile, a large
number of his works are dealing with identity, body, time, and memory. To me, the
most interesting work is the series of appropriation art named the Bathers , which is a
bizarre and chaotic piece that contains interesting connections between time and
memory. Refer to Mcclelland s talking, the characters in the Bathers are taken from
Instagram photos of our time and space; however, the background of the paintings are
compositional. He takes all kinds of different figures from historical environment and
reform them. As a result, it brings out the idea of reordering time . In painting,
photography, and installation art, artists often create temporal dislocations by
juxtaposing or layering images, objects, and styles from different contexts without
setting up logical or sequential connections between them (pg.136). Furthermore,
what is special about the Bathers is that we usually see artists composite photos with
photos, and paintings with paintings; nevertheless,... Show more content on

Comparing Music Of The Night And Defying Gravity
This essay is a comparison of two chosen songs one being from Sir Andrew Lloyd
Webber s Music of the Night from the musical The Phantom of the Opera and the
other being Defying Gravity from Stephen Schwartz s musical Wicked . These play
rights are unique in that they portray different stories to their audiences musically as
each song carries its own emotion and the musicand lyrics enhances its portrayal.
Webber Shows the Phantom s (Erik s) gullible side in the song Music of the Night
as he portrays his undying love for Christine and shows his eagerness to full fill all
her dreams of being successful. Webber captures this side of Erik through the use
of music and song lyrics throughout this song as he is expressing his feelings for
her in hopes that this will provoke an emotional response in her and make her stay
with him. This can be seen on the lyrics: Night time sharpens, heightens each
sensation, Darkness stirs and wakes imagination, Silently the senses abandon their
defences (0:01 0:18) (Maren, D (2003) . Erik explains how our senses of awarness
have become heightened because as humans rely on them as they act as our defences

Dostoevsky s The Brothers Karamazov
Throughout the entirety of Dostoevsky s novel, The Brothers Karamazov, the
author chooses to insert lines of poetry in order to give more insight to the
situations he is portraying. Out of all of the Russian poems that were referenced,
this paper will be focusing on the five that, I feel, were the most crucial to the
deeper understanding of the scenes in which they were placed. These poems;
Lermontov s Do not, do not believe in yourself, Pushkin s Demon, Pushkin s Chill
Winds Still Blow, Tiutchev s Silentium, and Nekrasov s Before the Rain will be
discussed. Each of these poems offers insight to the scene, which goes beyond what
was explicitly written by Dostoevsky. Do not, do not believe in yourself gives deeper
insight to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrator starts the book by giving a brief background on the Karamazov family
and it is here that Dostoevsky first uses poetry in order to add extra depth to the
introductions. Dostoevsky s first quoted poem is Lermontov s Do not, do not
believe in yourself (8), which is used in discussion of Fyodor Pavlovich
Karamazov s beautiful, intelligent and rich first wife, Adelaida Ivanovna Miusov
(7). The narrator maintains that her running away from Fyodor may never have
happened had it not been for an echo of foreign influence...[and her wanting to]
assess her feminine independence, [and] to go against social conventions (8). In
this, her behavior can be traced back to the chafings of a mind imprisoned (8).
However, this appears to be a misinterpretation of Do not, do not believe in yourself
due to the second and seventh lines of the poem . The second line states that one
should not believe in themselves and the seventh says that you should drain the
worries from your life. (Lermontov) These two lines give the reader the impression
that they should not only disregard personal ambition but also distance themselves
from anything that could cause them to worry. Living by this line of reasoning would
create a static existence and thus be the polar opposite of what the narrator suggested
as Adelaida Ivanovna s cause for running away. For in all actuality the narrator argues
that it is due not only to personal ambition, but also to her wanting more, so that she
runs away. It is in this first quotation that Dostoevsky brings forth one of the themes
of the novel, that being the fallibility of the human

The Importance Of Being Sustainable As Well As Looking...
Sustainability in general is ensuring that the resources needed for the future are
preserved and do not run out today. It has become clear that the infinite wants of the
consumer in today s society has put a strain on the worlds resources, this means
scarcity has become a greater issue. Scarcity in general is that there are not enough
resources to meet the wants of consumers. As a result it has become more important
for businesses to come up with new methods of producing renewable energyand
reducing the amount of resources required in their production process. A way of
measuring a business s sustainabilityis how a firmconducts its triple bottom line. The
triple bottom line consists of three elements a business will have to face, these... Show

Being sustainable can be financially beneficial to a firm in regards to their costs.
Decreased energy consumption reduces a firms operating costs which increases
the firm s share prices (Peloza Yachnin 2008). This shows that sustainable energy
consumption can help firms to be more profitable as they can reduce their day to
day running costs. An example of this would be Marks and Spencer. Marks and
Spencer put into action a program called Plan A in order to improve their
sustainability. This plan was focused on making the business become more energy
efficient and reducing their carbon footprint through a variety of methods such as
reducing Co2 emissions and reducing wastage in packaging. Marks and Spencer s
plan a report showed that their energy consumption for warehouses, stores and
offices increased in efficiency by 34% since putting plan A into action. The
innovation and new ways of doing things stimulated by Plan A was leading to
savings of ВЈ50m p.a. (Grayson 2011). Firms are always looking at ways to cut
costs, therefore Marks and spencer have shown that being more sustainable through
being more energy efficient is important to businesses as it can help them to
accomplish this. Furthermore this will also help them to achieve what is likely to be
one of their corporate objectives, to maximise profit. With greater profit levels, the
shareholders of the firm should receive greater dividends, giving them greater
satisfaction. As
Anatomy Of Anorexia By Steven Levenkron
The book I chose for the critical book review is, Anatomy of Anorexia by Steven
Levenkron. This book concentrates on the importance of detecting early symptoms
of anorexia nervosa. This book is suitable for parents and friends of anorexia
sufferers or others who would like to inform them of this disorder. He states that it
typically has to do with teenaged girls and how people who experience this mental
illnessneed serious help. This mental illness can even cause death, if not treated on
time. It mentions how girls who are obsessed over their weight and size try to lose
even more weight by doing extreme workout programs and severely restrict calories.

parents should be quite thankful to have been notified by an expert like Steven
Levenkron who knows the development of the disease and how to find a stop to it.
When small children develop a sense of trust, and later a sense of intimacy or
closeness to another, and a sense of self or identity, they are not vulnerable to
becoming creatures of the culture in its most extreme form as exemplified by the
media: magazines, movies, and so on. But individuals who are seduced by popular
trends allow these trends to define much of their identity (20). In this quote it
mentions how children at a young age develops trust in their surroundings and
closeness to others. In the process, they begin looking for their own identity.
Therefore, they wouldn t become defenseless to be like people in the media. They
wouldn t get sucked into wanting to be the same, and try to be different. Some of
these traits, such as perfectionist behavior, may disguise themselves as gifts to
parents. They may see the child as independent, not needing much support in a
family overburdened by other problems. A successful child who often does well in
school and is socially outgoing, does not appear worrisome (21). In this
Rumble Fish Analysis
What is young adult literature? Essentially, young adult literature is any type of
book that a teenager or young adult chooses to read. The term adolescence novel is
driven by the audience because publishers are going to produce novels that tend to
these needs. This leaves the category very broad for authors to write. Authors believe
that young adult literature tends to have a young protagonist who deals with
problems other young people would have to deal with. S.E. Hinton is a master of her
trade and has wrote many phenomenal novels including, The Outsiders and Rumble
Fish. All of her writingfocuses on young adult literature and teenage angst. Many of

unknown writer and so was her novel. No one had ever seen a book written the
way it was. Hinton wrote it because she felt that all the books written for kids her
age were not realistic they just didn t ring true. She had moved beyond the cowboy
and horse books in search of god teenage books, and she was very disappointed in
what she found, states Wilson (14). In an interview with seventeen magazine

teenagers outside of the fantasy world because life isn t full of sunshine and

The Role of Istambul on Modern Literature
Istanbul plays an important role in all kinds of art. It is especially important in
literature. There are a lot of books set in Istanbul and we can also talk about
famous writers who were inspired by the Istanbul views and who wrote beautiful
stories because of Istanbul. There is also another group of writers, who were born
and who wrote or write their works here, in Istanbul. This, of course, has its own
print and meaning, because living in such a beautiful and great city like Istanbul
cannot not to affect writers works. When we talk about literature and Istanbul, we
also have to mention famous writers and poets that wrote their stories and books in
this city. Istanbul has a rich story, there have lived a lot of writers from the Ottoman
Empiretill nowadays. There were writers not only from the common people, but also
from the Sultans. For example, Ottoman emperor Suleiman the Magnificent, who
moved to Constantinople after the death of his father, was also an accomplished poet,
he wrote his poems in both Persian and Turkish languages. His most famous verse
under the pen name Muhibbi is this:
The people think of wealth and power as the greatest fate,
But in this world a spell of health is the best state.
Wha men call sovereignty is a worldly strife and constant war;
Worship of God is the highest throne, the happiest of all estates.

All he had to do was keep records of every time he contacted Larry and Larry did
nothing about it. If Larry continued to ignore Roger about the leaking roof, Roger
had every right to bring upon legal proceedings against Larry. Larry would then be

Plyometric Training
Plyometric Training
Personal trainers will often tell you what type training they want you performing, but
do they explain why?
We have broken down five popular types of workouts to assist you. The first training
type to be covered is, plyometric training.
Plyometric training exercises were once activities specifically used in the sporting
world. Today, plyometric training is commonplace in the gym environment and can
be performed by all gym users.
Plyometric exercises are powerful, fast and enhance body control and power (Miller,
Herniman, Ricard, Cheatham Michael, 2006, p. 458). They link speed and strength,
to produce power (Miller et al., 2006, p. 458). These types of exercises involve
eccentric contractions followed by concentric contractions. Eccentric contractions
occur when the muscle lengthens while producing force (Miller et al., 2006, p. 458).
An eccentric contraction generally occurs when weight is being lowered. A
concentric contraction, occurs when the muscle shortens as it produces force (Miller
et al., 2006, p. 458). This is generally the lifting phase of the movement. Plyometric
exercises can involve starting, stopping and changing direction (Miller et al., 2006,
p. 458). These types of exercises assist in developing agility, which is the ability to
control and maintain body position while changing direction during explosive ...

Plea Bargaining Undermines Our Criminal Justice System
1.What is plea bargaining in your own words?
a.Plea bargaining is when the defendant and prosecutor negotiate an agreement
between each other where the defendant pleas guilty to reduced charges.
2.Do you think plea bargaining undermines our criminal justice system? How?
Explain yourself?
a.In some cases, plea bargaining does not undermine our criminal justice system
because the defendant should be allowed to weigh their options; especially because
this plea will affect their lives. Pleading guilty to a lesser charge can benefit the
defendant in multiple ways; such as, it can save them paying extensive lawyer bills
or maybe they don t wish to spend their whole life in jail. However, if the prosecutor
or even the judge bullied and threatens the defendant into accepting the plea bargain;
that action is undermining our criminal justice system. Our criminal justice system
states that everyone is innocent until proven guilty and it is the responsibility of the
state to prove one s guilt. Yet in the case of Charles Gampero, Erma Faye Stewart, or
anyone else mentioned in the documentary; either their lawyers or appointed judge
were not even concern with the defendant s innocence or guilt. Plea bargains should
not be forced onto a defendant but given as an option, there is no need for threats or
bullying; that action is what undermines our criminal justice system. This action and
also a statement made during the documentary everyone who shows up in court is
considered guilty

United States Ratification Of The Comprehensive Nuclear...
United States Ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty
Purpose
The purpose of the proposed research is to determine how technological, international,
and domestic developments in the last 20 years could affect future ratification of the
Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) by the United States Senate.
Relevance
The instrument of nuclear deterrence has been the primary reason that no full scale
war between major world powers has taken place since WWII. Ensuring the
credibility of the United States nuclear arsenal is the best way for the nation to secure
future peace. Advances in nuclear physics, computational modeling, and engineering
have made full nuclear explosive testing unnecessary to maintain the nuclear ... Show

[3] To maintain confidence in the safety, security, and reliability of the current United
States nuclear arsenal without testing the Stockpile Stewardship Program (SSP) was
established in 1996. SSP achieves this goal through physical plasma physics and sub
critical experiments for data collection and advanced computational modeling. [4] It
is a general consensus that the United States will not resume physical weapons
testing in the foreseeable future, as Linton Brooks, former director of the National
Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) under President George W. Bush, said in
November 2011, as a practical matter, it is almost certain that the United States will
not test again... I have been in and out of government for a long time. And in recent
years I never met anybody who advocated that we seek authorization to return to
testing. [5]
Methods
The independent variables are the technological, international, and domestic
developments and the dependent variable is the strategic calculus of whether the
United States ratifies the CTBT. The research method will be case study oriented,
with quantitative approaches to old nuclear weapons test data if relevant.
Research Areas
Developments that may influence the ratification of the CTBT include:
Domestic:
The Obama Administration committed approximately $1 trillion over the next 30
years on nuclear modernization. [6] The increased funding
The Effects Of Hormone Therapies On Human Body And

Traditionally men are expected to be the stronger sex, the breadwinner, the hunter
gatherer, but when it comes to prostate cancer men can feel powerless. Hormone
therapies are used to chemically castrate men as a means of treating the cancer
through more personalised medicine. However, when the cancer becomes refractory,
Docetaxel is used as a first line chemotherapyto treat metastatic castration resistant
prostate cancerin combination with Prednisolone. Mr. Smith (pseudonym) was
diagnosed with Advanced Metastatic Prostate Cancerwhich was controlled by
Abiraterone Acetate (an androgen biosynthesis inhibitor and works by inhibiting the

Cytotoxic chemotherapy was first discovered during World War II by Gilman and
Philips when they perceived the effect that nitrogen gas (used during WWI) had on
the number of human cells proliferating and recognised this as a potential treatment
for cancer. From this discovery, biotherapy was born helping to increase our
knowledge in how to achieve cell death and tumour control through use of cytokines
and monoclonal antibodies (Young et al, 2006). Cancer is often described as
unregulated cell growth through a multistep process (Brighton et al, 2005). Brighton
(2005) describes the Hallmarks of the cancer cell as needing to acquire these six steps
in order to develop: self sufficiency in growth signals, insensitivity to antigrowth
signal, avoiding apoptosis, limitless replicative potential, angiogenesis and tumour
invasion/ metastasis . These six Hallmarks of Cancer describe the pathogenesis that a
cell undertakes until it develops into a tumour which can then potentially become
malignant (Hanahan et al, 2011). While normal cells can control their own
proliferation that allows a homeostasis amongst cells, that new cells are born once the
old cells have died ensuring that there are enough cells available to fulfil the task at
hand. Cancer cells are more neurotic, they interrupt the normal signalling pathway
within the healthy cells, and then they begin to grow uncontrollably invading the
Analysis Of The Book The Batman
Arthur Cotterell, author of The Illustrated A Z Classic Mythology: The Legends of
Ancient Greece, Rome, and the Norse and Celtic Worlds, described Loki by saying,
He was a mischief maker, trickster, and shape changer, and grew progressively more
evil until the coming of Ragnarok, the end of the world. Lokiis only one of the many
Norse gods and goddess, but he is the only one described as a trickster or evil god.
In many cultures the mythologies often depict how actual people acted.
Throughout history we can see different and similar gods and goddess or heroes
and villains in the culture. Loki, god of fire and trickster, and the Joker, from The
Dark Knight version 2008 movie, are very similar in the way they act and how it
reflects in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
May call Loki a trickster because he would trick people into doing things that they
would not usually do, just to have fun or to get something out of it. However, Loki
could be very loyal, though usually to only Thor, because after leading Thor into a
trap, Loki stood with Thor in the end.
Loki was married twice, first to the giant Angrboda and then to Sigyn. Loki and
Sigyn had two sons: Vali and Narvi. Loki also had three kids with Angrboda;
Fenrir, a wolf, Jormungand, a serpent, and Hel, ruler of the Germanic netherworld.
So we can could say that is was natural for men of the Scandinavian culture to have
multiple wives and kids. After Loki killed Balder, the bleeding god, Balder s
brother, Vali, bound Loki to a rock with a venomous snake dripping venom on him.
However, his wife Sigyn sat beside him and would catch the venom in a bowl, so it
not to hit Loki and hurt him. From what we read, we could conclude that most wives
of the Scandinavian culture stayed with their husbands no matter what would happen
and that they were dedicated to keeping their husbands satisfied.
In order for Loki to be a trickster, he must have great intelligence to convince people
or gods to do want he wants, to get want he wants in the end. Loki was smart when
he said that he would trade his brother for his life because he knew that Thor could
beat or kill them all with no problem. Since Loki was so intelligent, we can assume
that there were people in the
Nature Of Evil
When we hear the word evil we associate it with villainous people throughout
history and their actions, including people such as Adolf Hitler, Osama bin Laden,
and Charles Manson. Evil may also be associated with the bad guys in stories, the
ones who want to destroy the world or the main character but evilisn t just found in
extremes as many people think; the nature of evil is that is found in people around
us everyday. The definition of evil according the Oxford dictionary is profoundly
immoral and wicked and harmful or tending to harm. Following that definition,
wickedness can be found in everyone to some degree, we just have to recognize it.

Teddy found interest in imagining a separate universe of Kings and Castles
through the use of paper dolls and a doll house. When his uncle found the paper
dolls, he found it amusing an eleven year old boy! would play with dolls and doll
houses and he choked trying to restrain his laughter and exclaims paper dolls and
doll houses! referring to how boys shouldn t be playing with dolls. This shows
teddy s uncle believes the sexes should constrain to their stereotypes assigned by
society. He even states The next thing we know, you ll be wanting us to put skirts
on you. The fact that Teddy s uncle believes Teddy should be confined to the
stereotypes of a boy and finds in funny and humiliating to enjoy things a girl
typically would displays a sexist person within. This proves the evil nature within
Teddy s Uncle; an evil that believes it is silly and embarrassing to enjoy something
that is not typical of your gender according to culture. His evil is found in his sexism
and judgment.
Along with demonstrating the thought that it is wrong to enjoy a certain interest
based on your sex, Teddy s uncle reveals a disregard of Teddys imagination and
creativity. To him, his nephews interest in dolls and dollhouses was foolish and
comical because those objects are feminine, but along with judging his interests, he
didn t care to learn of Teddys imagination. Teddy repeats They ain t paper dolls and
They ain t paper dolls, I told you but his uncle doesn t care to listen to his possible
Jessica Coughed And Spluttered On The Darkness
JESSICA COUGHED AND SPLUTTERED IN THE DARKNESS. The thick dust
clogged her nostrils and she tried not to breathe too deeply. Holt had grabbed her arm
and pulled her to safety, just as a large section of the cave roof had collapsed above
her.
Lucky I spotted this passageway, eh, child, or we would be resting underneath that, he
said solemnly.
Thank you, Jessica replied, rubbing her eyes trying to clear the dust out of them. But
what happened to the rest? Where are my brother and sister?
Holt tried not to look worried, Do not fret child, I am sure that they are safe on the
other side of this, he said, pointing to the large pile of rocks that had blocked the
main passageway. All we need to do is find a way around it.

She pulled it out and flicked the switch, hoping the fall had not broken it as well.
Light flooded the cave. Through the settling dust, they could see the narrow
passageway leading off into the darkness. It had been roughly hewn out of the rock.

he motioned towards her torch. Save it for when this runs out.
It s a torch, she said flicking it off.
I know that, he called back, marching off down the passage.
They continued on, grateful that they were both of small stature. Anyone a little
bigger than them would have struggled to squeeze through the tight confines of the
passageway. The little tunnel twisted and turned ahead of them, its floor gently
sloping away into the darkness. Then the lantern flickered and died.
Jessica switched on her torch. I don t know how long this will last, she told the
Gnome.
Worry not child, I will soon have us out of here, he bragged.
They walked on, the air gradually getting warmer as they descended.
She drank the last of her water and hoped they would soon be reunited with the
others. She prayed Holt was right, and that Danielle and George had not been hurt, or
worse, back there in the explosions.
The tunnel carried on monotonously, getting steeper and narrower. The heat grew
more stifling the deeper they went. She did not know how long they had been
walking, but she did know that the light from her torch was gradually growing
Ikea Brand
IKEA has created a global brand focused on low prices and contemporary designs.
In 2009, Interbrand ranked IKEA 28th on its list of the top 100 global brands (# 35
in 2008 indicating 10% increase in brand value over just year). IKEA s success is
attributed to its vast experience in the furniture retail market, its product
differentiation and cost leadership. The brandIkea has become iconic in consumers
minds. CEO, Anders Dahlvig, states the awareness of our brand is much bigger
than the size of our company (Kling, K Goteman, I., 2003). IKEA is growing
aggressively around the world and at each of the store openings there are wacky
promotions. For example, at an Atlanta store opening (2005), the company offered a

As IKEA is expanding rapidly around the globe, it faces a number of challenges in
terms of varied cultural, demographic and market specific needs. The one design

globe exhibiting low price as the core brand value. As IKEA expands globally, the
branding strategies revolve around providing value (quality and design) to the
customers at affordable prices. References Capell, K. ( November 14, 2005). Ikea,

Establishing Positive Relationships With Fellow Teachers
FOUNDATION FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING 8:
PEER ASSESSMENT #2
ESTABLISHING POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS
WITH FELLOW TEACHERS
The collegial relationships which occur among teachers at a school are extremely
important in defining the learning atmosphere, character and ethos that exists at an
educational institution. Leadership plays a key role in the development of a positive
and productive environment but it takes a commitment by all staff members to make
this occur, grow and flourish.
The types of relationships and interactions that occur among staff members easily
translate to what occurs among the student body. As role models who have significant
influence on learners at school, how teachers conduct their daily activities are very
important. Students can easily sense any negative feelings teachers may have
towards certain pupils and also fellow staff members. This is an important
consideration for every educator.
As indicated by Leana (2011), when teachers are good at their jobs and also talk to
one another frankly and on a regular basis about what they do, student achievement
improves significantly. This fact clearly demonstrates the importance of relationship
building among teachers and administrators, which usually results in a successful
school with a very positive atmosphere. However, the question arises as to what it
takes to achieve this situation. As indicated by Brewster and Railsback (2003), there
are many factors that mitigate against the development of
Figurative Language In The Secret Lion By Alberto Rios
The text that will be analyzed is a short story called The Secret Lion by Alberto
Rios. This text is jam packed full of figurative language such as symbolism and
personification. The story is a memory from the author himself about when he was
growing up as a kid in the border town of Nogales, Arizona. He has just reached
junior high and he is in the early stages of becoming an adult. He does not like the
fact that he is growing up and he wants to stay as a kid. Through the use of
symbolism, the author takes the reader on a magical journey through their childhood
using the arroyo, the grinding ball, and the golf course. The most prominent use of
figurative language in the story is the author s use of symbolism. There are multiple
items throughout... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The heaven is the golf course behind the boys house. The boys always saw the
green hills back there and had always wondered what it truly was. Their mother
had told them to never go over there but one day they finally convinced her to let
them venture over. The boys packed themselves a lunch, which included a
sandwich and a Coke, and they headed over to the green hills. Upon arrival, the
boys were shocked at what they saw. At the time, the boys had not known what a
golf course was so finding a green golf course in the middle of a desert was quite
astounding for them. The boys headed towards the green of a hole and decided to
have their lunch there. The boys used the hole itself as a cup holder for their Coke;
thinking that that was what it was meant for. After a bit of relaxing and eating, a
couple of men with bags of clubs around their backs approached the boys. They
yelled at them to move so they could hit their ball into the hole; the hole the boys
thought was a cup holder. The boys then fled, later figuring out that they were on a
golf course. The golf course is the boys childhood. The men that shooed the boys off
represents adulthood. The adults are telling the boys to forget their childhood and
move on to adulthood. Jim O Loughlin in The Facts On File Companion to American
Poetry, vol. 2 says, In much of his work, RГos explores truths of experience that do
not conform to rational explanation. (116). Jim is very correct in this statement.
Alberto Rios uses very out of the ordinary techniques to convey his message. In this
story, it would be Rios using odd objects to convey himself and a friend growing up.
Irena Praitis in Encyclopedia of Hispanic American Literature says, The world RГos
creates in his books is a world characterized by magical realism. (81). Most would
agree with Irena in this statement because Rios loves to use magical realism in his
short stories. Magical realism is a
Musical Sound Processing And Techniques Of Digital
Music...
Musical sound processing and techniques of digital musical analysis comes
developed along with speech processing and it might appear as a subset of speech
processing. The difference of musical signals from speech signals are their qualities
like harmony and timbre, melody and rhythm etc. Such qualities allow musicto
transcend the verbal speech and gives it the ability to influence the human brain and
thereby health. The paper looks into methods of analyzing the above mentioned
qualities of musical signal using fourth generation programming language Matlab.
Compact commands and simpler syntaxes make the processing easier and it provides
us with all the information needed for further processing the music. More complex
features such as the structure and form, statistical information and emotional
characteristic of notes are also discussed. The paper presents how two different notes
could be distinctly represented in terms of mathematical information obtained from
processing of their wave forms. The Matlab toolbox MIRtoolbox has been made use
throughout the paper in order to simulate and present various ideas related to the
characteristics of music. This toolbox has been designed specifically for digitally
analyzing music and for extracting useful information from it. Only the software
aspects are discussed in the paper
MUSIC is a language used almost everywhere in the world as a means of conveying
emotions as well as a means of entertainment. Musical sound processing has

The I-Tip Fusion Hair Extensions
Decode Some Important Facts Behind The I Tip Fusion Hair Extensions
Do you want to redo your hair? Then it is better you can try the hectic free hair
extension. It is not only cool but a time saver as well. There is no need to spend an
hour in front of the mirror struggling with the combs to settle your hair. As a fashion
conscious woman, you love to know about arrays of hair extensions like you should
know about the I tip fusion hair extensions.
What should you need to know about I tip fusion extension for hair?
The I tip hair or stick tip extension is also known as the cold fusion, flash point or
the shoelace tip. It is a type of hair extension, which is fixed to the hair with the
help of micro tube or micro ring in order to ensure that it is secured in the same
place. Now the I tip is pulled through the micro ring or tube. Then it is squeezed or
compressed with pliers. Now, pliers are used to be sure that the extension remains
fixed in a particular place. But one thing you should see that the method actually uses
no heat or glue. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Micro rings made of silicon aluminum: The micro rings embedded with silicon give
an advantage as the cushion pads pull the hair extension tight and do not allow it to
slip. You can use this to fix any fine smooth hair. Cost wise it is a bit expensive
compared to other variants.
Microtubes made of copper: Counting on the look, you should see that it is a bit
longer as well as thinner. Obviously, the thinness of the copper gives an edge to
your look. In addition, as you can hide it nicely under the hair, it is impossible to be
located easily.

Release of Aspirin from a Polymer Matrix
Experiment 1: Release of Aspirin from a Polymer Matrix Summary Firstly, aspirin
was weigh to 0.25g which was then dissolved in 100cm3 of distilled water by
heating to 80В°C using a hotplate. 2.0g of agar was added while stirring and was
heated till dispersed, giving almost clear solution. The temperature was control so
as not to overheat the agar. The agar was left to cool in an ice bath. Using a hollow
cylinder, the agar was cut to approximately 4.0g (the exact weight of the agar was
recorded). It was then transferred to a 250cm3 beaker filled with 50cm3 of distilled
water and a conductivity probe was placed into the beaker to measure the conductance
(Conductivity, Gt, пЃS/cm) against time (measured every 1 2 minutes for the interval
of 30 minutes). To ensure consistency, the solution was swirl for approximately 10
seconds before the minute was up. Next, the conductance of aqueous solution with
only aspirin present was calculated by getting the amount of aspirin through the
formula (Y=X/102g aspirin) and it was dissolved into 50cm3 of water. The
conductance was measured in order to obtain the Control (Ga). From there, the
fractions of Aspirin released at any given time (Qt) were measured thus providing the
following of the release of the Aspirin by plotting the graph of Log Qt versus Log t.

Gender Perceptions Of Gender And Gender Stereotypes
We often fail to realize how much the minute judgements we make about an
individual solely on appearance, affect how we interact with them. For instance, the
simple distinction of sex may influence how we regard another person, and thus
directly influence our manner of speaking, our body language, even our facial
expressions. These judgements are often based off of genderstereotypes, and gender
ideology, two concepts so engrained is society we fail to recognize them usually
(Guest 2014). To further examine the roles such judgements, play in everyday
interactions, I sat in a cafГ© downtown for an hour and people watched, noting who
was interacting with whom, and how different traits such as gender, or even social
class influence them. Throughout the observation, it was fascinating to see how
people let these judgements influence them entirely. Though more interesting may
have been the patterns that unfolded. A particularly noticeable trend was one defined
by sex. Women generally interacted with more women, while men interacted with
more men. In these same sex interactions, women overall seemed more at ease, they
maintained more relaxed postures, displayed a wider range of paralanguage, and
even spoke at a louder volume.
Oddly, men were divided when it came to same sex interactions. If the men were of
equal status, they generally sustained good posture, with shoulders rolled back,
though minimal tension. When speaking they utilized more paralanguage, especially
if the two

  • 2. The Book Of Revelation By John When He Was On The Isle Of... The book of Revelation was written by John when he was on the Isle of Patmos. This book is the only book in the Bible that is made up entirely of apocalyptic writing. Revelation appeals to the imagination and provokes visions of the coming of the Lord. There are many symbols and numbers found in the scriptures that are significant to end times. This book is revealing to us what will happen in the latter days when God will bring the world to an end. The judgement is contained in a scroll that is seven times sealed and only the Lamb is worthy to open and read it (Knowles 701). The phrase seven sealsrefers to the seven symbolic seals that secure the book and when the Lamb broke each seal, a judgement is released or an apocalyptic event occurs. The opening of the first seal is described in Revelation 6:1 2, And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. (The Thompson Chain Reference Bible, King James Version, Revelation 6:1 2). According to Matthew Henry, the white horse signifies purity. It was during a time when the Heavenly Father sent his witnesses to teach all nations. The crown represents the Divine nature of the religion, while the bow represents being spiritually armed against their foes. The second seal was

  • 4. Last Night At The Lobster Analysis Stewart O Nan s Last Night at the Lobster presents the role of women as a guiding force on one s decisions. O Nan illustrates many instances in which the protagonist, Manny De Leon, struggles between doing what he wants to do and what is right. Whether these struggles be in regards to trivial or substantial conflicts, Manny repeatedly struggles in making smart decisions. O Nan utilizes these instances to portray Manny s inability to decide for himself. The protagonist s lack of conscience juxtaposes the role of women both within Last Night at the Lobster and in contemporary times. O Nan s inclusion of a poem by Luis Alberto Urrea about vatos and their abuelitas on the very first page of the novel promptly suggests the significance of mother figures within the novel. O Nan presents Manny s abuelita numerous times within the story; she plays his conscience, both advising him and reprimanding him as he misbehaves. The role of Manny s grandmother in this novel parallels to the Urrea poem in which his abuelita represents compassion and balance, a quality that he would like to repudiate but accepts as he acknowledges its importance. O Nan alludes to the role of his grandmother as Manny contemplates stealing money in the safe at the Lobster for the first time. Despite his strong temptation, mere thoughts of his grandmother telling him that it s just green ink on paper, and not worth a man s honor (7) prevents him from following through with this urge. Manny, although challenging
  • 5. Discuss The Impact Of Globalization On American Football Globalization has long been attributed as one of the main factors contributing to the overwhelming popularity of football around the world. Through this process of global diffusion, football has managed to reach across borders and cultures to amass an astounding 3.5 billion fans from all over the world (McGowan). Globalization has also provided football with another gift: migration. This particular effect is highlighted in European football with the rise of increasingly diverse national teams. Immigration in Europe has always been substantial, but after World War II many Western European countries saw an increase of people crossing their borders. Migrations to various European countries have continued to rise exponentially in the 21st century... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There was a definite loss of identity as Germans tried to move on from the war. The rebuilding process was not going to be easy. And as history had it, it took a miracle for the German people to finally be able to claim a new national identity. The West Germany national team s win in the 1984 World Cup was the start of a new era for the German people, it mark[ed] the beginning of Germany s rebirth as a gradually more self confident nation... (Krauss 3). Thus their national team became their new source of national vitality and symbol of strength. When Germany became officially reunited in 1990, the West German national team had just won another World Cup months before, marking a historic moment in Germany with another, and strengthening the connection between football and Germany. This is still true today, but the team that won the country s first World Cup and the team that won their most recent 2014 World Cup could not be more different. That squad boasted an impressive selection of foreign heritage players. Among them were Mesut Г–zil (Turkey), JГ©rГґme Boateng (Ghana), Lukas Podolski and Miroslav Klose (Poland), Shkodran Mustafi (Albania), and Sami Khedira (Tunisia). The demographic changes in Germany that have been happening for a while have finally achieved representation at the highest level of German society. By definition, a nation is an imagined
  • 6. Technology, Abstraction and Ideas of Nature Coming to terms with modern architecture, we must read through such seminal statements through their sensibilities and societal myths which they exemplify. Now, we shall explore parallel themes to do with new myths of modernity, poetic expressions of technology, the reemergence of abstraction, and analogies between architecture and other realms such as minimalist sculpture, landscape art and nature. Architecture oscillates between the unique and the typical where the old and new may reunite in unexpected ways. Example, the Navarro Baldeweg s Congress Hall in Salamanca which underlines the complexity of ideas, fantasies, memories and aspirations that may operate in a single function. Part from his exchange with painters, sculptors and conceptual artists, part from his direct engagement with ordinary techniques of construction in which he found extraordinary possibilities of expression. Spiller House in Vernice, California (1979) in which angled planes and tilting volumes introduced visual tension and ambiguities while materials, as found, were handled in a deliberately casual way which exposed the process of assembly. Another route towards fragmentation and abstraction lay through the works of neo modernist such as Richard Meier and Bernard Tschumi. Richard Meier established a signature style that was characterized by layers of wall planes and transparencies, fractured structural grids, interpenetrating ramps and space of vying luminosity. All these devices were all on display in the Museum fГјr Kunsthandwerk in Frankfurt (1981 5). The Parc de La Villete (1984 9) by Bernard Tschumi revealed another aspect of the neo modernist stance. His basic strategy of co ordinates, sinuous lines and boundaries suggested a latter day version of Kadinsky s elements of abstract painting or perhaps the score for an avant garde film in which the same shot pieces were repeated in different montages. The site recalled past mechanistic fantasies such as Tchernikov s sketches of around 1929. The cubic follies were like giant toys scattered across the grass. Essay On The Mexican American War What is the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo of 1848 and how did it affect the US and Mexico Introduction Stuck between 1846 and 1848, the US and Mexico (two neighbors) went to battle, which was a crucial affair for the two countries, thus massive renovation of the region. The way was essential in the generation of a new identity for the people. Following the end of the war, Mexico lost approximately half of its territory relating to the present American Southwest from Texas to California. The war was vital in enabling the United States to become a continental power in the context of North America. Background Information The hostilities between Mexico and the United States began in 1846 prior to its continuation until 1847. According to the historical accounts, Mexico did claim the Nueces River as its northeastern boarder. On the other hand, the US claimed the Rio Grande River (McCaffrey, 1994). The troops from Mexico and the US met at the Rio Grande on April 25, 1846 prior to the Mexican army firing at the troops of the USA. This was the onset of the Mexican American War. • 8. Heteroglossia Heteroglossia Langue and linguistic variation Bakhtin developed the notion in contrast with the structuralist account of language, which was centered in the notion of langue, that is, the systematic set of rules determining the well formedness of an expression or utterance. This concept, introduced by Saussure, emphasised the notion that the code conformed by the linguistic norms must be common to all speakers for communication to be possible. This was seen as a dangerous simplification by Bakhtin, who asserted that languages are internally divided, not simply into regional dialects, but also into many different strata, corresponding to all possible axes of social division; he thus posited a minutely nuanced variety of class , ethnia , ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He defines heteroglossia as another s speech in another s language, serving to express authorial intentions but in a refracted way. Bakhtin identifies the direct narrative of the author, rather than dialogue between characters, as the primary location of this conflict. Languages as points of view Bakhtin viewed the modern novel as a literary form best suited for the exploitation of heteroglossia, in direct contrast to epic poetry (and, in a lesser degree, poetry in general). The linguistic energy of the novel was seen in its expression of the conflict between voices through their adscription to different elements in the novel s discourse. Any language, in Bakhtin s view, stratifies into many voices: social dialects, characteristic group behavior, professional jargons, generic languages, languages of generations and age groups, tendentious languages, languages of the authorities, of various circles and of passing fashions. This diversity of voice is, Bakhtin asserts, the defining characteristic of the novel as a genre. Traditional stylistics, like epic poetry, do not share the trait of heteroglossia. In Bakhtin s words, poetry depersonalizes days in language, while prose, as we shall see, often deliberately intensifies difference between them... Extending his

These Soviet actions, while strengthening control over the Eastern Bloc, alienated many Western Marxists, leading to splits and/or considerable losses of membership for communist parties in capitalist states.(Soviets) The Soviet Union wanting to consolidate the communist power in Hungary were willing to put thousands of hungarians, and even get their own troops killed to show their power over Hungary. This thirst for total power ended up hurting not only Hungary but the Soviets influence in other countries

The spectrum ranges from mild to severe. While there are set characteristic traits to determine whether or not a person is autistic, these traits vary tremendously among different people; no two autistic children are alike. The traits these individuals possess and the actions caused by the characteristic, influence how other family members and caregivers respond to the autistic individual. This paper will examine case studies and articles that illustrate the effectiveness of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) in tervention techniques for autistic individuals. Looking at ABA and the different tools and in tervention methods that therapists have at their disposal, will demonstrate how early interven tion and family education are the biggest keys to aiding an autistic client in adjusting to the world around them in a meaningful way. • 11. Southern Masculinity in Faulkner’s The Unvanquished Essay... Southern Masculinity in Faulkner s The Unvanquished The narrator of Faulkner s The Unvanquished is apparently an adult recounting his childhood. The first person narrator is a child at the story s outset, but the narrative voice is lucid, adult. Telling the story of his childhood allows the narratorto distinguish for the reader what he believed as a child from what he know[s] better now (10). The difference affords an examination of dominant southern masculinity as it is internalized by Bayard and Ringo, and demonstrates the effects on the boys of the impossible ideal. The initial indication that narrator Bayard may be an adult recounting his childhood comes with the past tense in the story s opening line: Behind the smokehouse ... (87) As children, neither Bayard nor Ringo would possess the capacity for critical thinking necessary to employ the linguistic precision demonstrated above.Children think more abstractly, in grander and simpler terms. For example, they may take role models unreflectively; Bayard and Ringo play act as General Van Dorn and General Pemberton, but they obviously do not understand why these men are their heroes. Based on what they have been told, and wholly independent of reality, the boys have constructed a General Pemberton that represents good and a General Grant that represents evil. By rule, Bayard plays the good guy twice for every single time Ringo gets to. The unfairness of this rule is apparently as lost on the boys as the idea that in the context of this game, Grant would make a more suitable good guy for Ringo. The disparities in their relationship are apparently unnoticed by both Bayard and Ringo. They think that they are equals. They had been born in the same month and had both fed at the same breast and had slept together and eaten together until they felt like brothers. They are not brothers, though. When Sartoris comes home in spring, both boys run to meet the man they look up to as a father, and they enter, Bayard standing in one stirrup with Father s arm around me, and Ringo holding to the other stirrup and running beside the horse (8). Later we find that the boys do sleep together, Bayard on a bed, and

It is hard to imagine the domination that the abuser exercises over the abused, the danger that they feel, and the violence and fear that traumatise them. Violence is not a private matter. One cannot draw the curtains and forgive and forget, society must intervene and offer help and comfort. However, sometimes the help offered can be inadequate and illogical. There are almost always non violent routes one can take and in the case of abuse there are many options, such as using the law to ones advantage, taking up residence in a safe house and calling for help. It may not be easy to find the courage to leave but if one has been able to survive the detrimental effects of abuse, then one can have the audacity to leave. Options that harm people become morally unacceptable when less harmful options exist. Murder can never be morally permissible. It can be excused, but not justified. There is an extreme difference. If we ever allow murder to be morally permissible, we violate the most basic right, the right to life. The respect of human life achieves morality, while using deadly, deliberate force against repeated cruelty does not. Although the abuse victim may be robbed of liberty and happiness, they still have the opportunity to regain it because they are alive. Life provides the opportunity to exercise all other rights, and therefore, it is more valuable than all other rights. A victim s use of deadly force would therefore be disproportionate and morally impermissible as the victim becomes everything they are hiding from. If violence begets violence, it is only a matter of time before civilized society distils down into anarchy. The battered wife
  • 14. Essay Perception of God and Evil by Augustine of Hippo Augustine of Hippo (354 430) is among the most influential thinkers in Christianity. He contributed a great number of ideas and notions to Christian theology that would have lasting effect on belief systems in Christian churches. One of his most notable contributions is the notion of original sin and his concept of evil. These notions evolved over the years. Augustine traces their evolution in his Confessions, a thirteen volume autobiography he wrote when he was in his forties. An essential part of Confessions is Augustine s conversion to Christianity and his evolving understanding of good and evil. In book seven of Confessions, Augustine describes his perception of God before his conversion to Christianity. He explains that he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Significantly, Manichaeism perceives of God and his evil antagonist, Satan, as being restricted to the world. This notion appealed to the young Augustine, as he struggled to comprehend how anything like evil could exist. He seek out Neoplatonic books only to conclude that it shares similar Manichean teaching where evil represents physical matters like the body. However, Neoplatonism helped him realize a new understanding of God existing in an intelligible realm. After his conversion to Christianity, Augustine came to think of God not just as a spiritual being but also sovereign over all beings, which is a clear rejection of the Manichaeistic worldview. The lyrics to Carman s The Champion sum up Augustine s notion of God quite nicely, when they state, Of the war between the lord of sin and death, And the Omnipotent Creator of man s first breath, Who will decide who will forever be the Champion ( The Champion second stanza). God is according to Augustine the single sovereign, who rules over everything, even the evil forces in the universe. This sovereignty is grounded in Augustine s understanding that God created everything. This assumption ultimately solves the question why evil exists. It exists because God created it, just like he created everything else. Augustine suggests that everything God creates in inherently good. However, creatures can become evil because they are prone to corruption (Mann 44). Furthermore, rational beings have

Leadershipis not something you can learn from a book, but you have to gain this skill through experiences such as holding an office, organizing an event, speaking in front of people, or participating in a leadership program. If leaders are simply born that way then what is the point of leadership development. The answer perhaps creates controversy because the answer is simply both. Clearly there are those who have certain abilities that allow them to more easily assume leadership roles while others of us work to develop the necessary skills. The reality is that each person is unique in their skills and abilities as is each leader. One may be charismatic while another is empathetic, one may have clear vision another remarkable communication skill. The narrator starts the book by giving a brief background on the Karamazov family and it is here that Dostoevsky first uses poetry in order to add extra depth to the introductions. Dostoevsky s first quoted poem is Lermontov s Do not, do not believe in yourself (8), which is used in discussion of Fyodor Pavlovich Karamazov s beautiful, intelligent and rich first wife, Adelaida Ivanovna Miusov (7). The narrator maintains that her running away from Fyodor may never have happened had it not been for an echo of foreign influence...[and her wanting to] assess her feminine independence, [and] to go against social conventions (8). In this, her behavior can be traced back to the chafings of a mind imprisoned (8). However, this appears to be a misinterpretation of Do not, do not believe in yourself due to the second and seventh lines of the poem . The second line states that one should not believe in themselves and the seventh says that you should drain the worries from your life. (Lermontov) These two lines give the reader the impression that they should not only disregard personal ambition but also distance themselves from anything that could cause them to worry. Living by this line of reasoning would create a static existence and thus be the polar opposite of what the narrator suggested as Adelaida Ivanovna s cause for running away. For in all actuality the narrator argues that it is due not only to personal ambition, but also to her wanting more, so that she runs away. Decreased energy consumption reduces a firms operating costs which increases the firm s share prices (Peloza Yachnin 2008). This shows that sustainable energy consumption can help firms to be more profitable as they can reduce their day to day running costs. An example of this would be Marks and Spencer. Marks and Spencer put into action a program called Plan A in order to improve their sustainability. This plan was focused on making the business become more energy efficient and reducing their carbon footprint through a variety of methods such as reducing Co2 emissions and reducing wastage in packaging. Marks and Spencer s plan a report showed that their energy consumption for warehouses, stores and offices increased in efficiency by 34% since putting plan A into action. Furthermore this will also help them to achieve what is likely to be one of their corporate objectives, to maximise profit. When small children develop a sense of trust, and later a sense of intimacy or closeness to another, and a sense of self or identity, they are not vulnerable to becoming creatures of the culture in its most extreme form as exemplified by the media: magazines, movies, and so on. But individuals who are seduced by popular trends allow these trends to define much of their identity (20). In this quote it mentions how children at a young age develops trust in their surroundings and closeness to others. In the process, they begin looking for their own identity. Therefore, they wouldn t become defenseless to be like people in the media. They wouldn t get sucked into wanting to be the same, and try to be different. Some of these traits, such as perfectionist behavior, may disguise themselves as gifts to parents. They may see the child as independent, not needing much support in a family overburdened by other problems. A successful child who often does well in school and is socially outgoing, does not appear worrisome (21). In this
  • 31. Rumble Fish Analysis What is young adult literature? Essentially, young adult literature is any type of book that a teenager or young adult chooses to read. The term adolescence novel is driven by the audience because publishers are going to produce novels that tend to these needs. This leaves the category very broad for authors to write. There are a lot of books set in Istanbul and we can also talk about famous writers who were inspired by the Istanbul views and who wrote beautiful stories because of Istanbul. There is also another group of writers, who were born and who wrote or write their works here, in Istanbul. This, of course, has its own print and meaning, because living in such a beautiful and great city like Istanbul cannot not to affect writers works. When we talk about literature and Istanbul, we also have to mention famous writers and poets that wrote their stories and books in this city. Istanbul has a rich story, there have lived a lot of writers from the Ottoman Empiretill nowadays. There were writers not only from the common people, but also from the Sultans. For example, Ottoman emperor Suleiman the Magnificent, who moved to Constantinople after the death of his father, was also an accomplished poet, he wrote his poems in both Persian and Turkish languages. His most famous verse under the pen name Muhibbi is this: The people think of wealth and power as the greatest fate, But in this world a spell of health is the best state. Wha men call sovereignty is a worldly strife and constant war; Worship of God is the highest throne, the happiest of all estates. Another famous Turkish writer who was both born in Istanbul and wrote about Istanbul is Orhan Veli KanД±k (1914 1950).

We have broken down five popular types of workouts to assist you. The first training type to be covered is, plyometric training. Plyometric training exercises were once activities specifically used in the sporting world. Today, plyometric training is commonplace in the gym environment and can be performed by all gym users. Plyometric exercises are powerful, fast and enhance body control and power (Miller, Herniman, Ricard, Cheatham Michael, 2006, p. 458). Plea Bargaining Undermines Our Criminal Justice System 1.What is plea bargaining in your own words? a.Plea bargaining is when the defendant and prosecutor negotiate an agreement between each other where the defendant pleas guilty to reduced charges. 2.Do you think plea bargaining undermines our criminal justice system? How? Explain yourself? a.In some cases, plea bargaining does not undermine our criminal justice system because the defendant should be allowed to weigh their options; especially because this plea will affect their lives. Pleading guilty to a lesser charge can benefit the defendant in multiple ways; such as, it can save them paying extensive lawyer bills or maybe they don t wish to spend their whole life in jail. However, if the prosecutor or even the judge bullied and threatens the defendant into accepting the plea bargain; that action is undermining our criminal justice system. Our criminal justice system states that everyone is innocent until proven guilty and it is the responsibility of the state to prove one s guilt. Yet in the case of Charles Gampero, Erma Faye Stewart, or anyone else mentioned in the documentary; either their lawyers or appointed judge were not even concern with the defendant s innocence or guilt. Plea bargains should not be forced onto a defendant but given as an option, there is no need for threats or bullying; that action is what undermines our criminal justice system. This action and also a statement made during the documentary everyone who shows up in court is considered guilty

Cytotoxic chemotherapy was first discovered during World War II by Gilman and Philips when they perceived the effect that nitrogen gas (used during WWI) had on the number of human cells proliferating and recognised this as a potential treatment for cancer. From this discovery, biotherapy was born helping to increase our knowledge in how to achieve cell death and tumour control through use of cytokines and monoclonal antibodies (Young et al, 2006). Loki was married twice, first to the giant Angrboda and then to Sigyn. Loki and Sigyn had two sons: Vali and Narvi. Loki also had three kids with Angrboda; Fenrir, a wolf, Jormungand, a serpent, and Hel, ruler of the Germanic netherworld. For instance, she is helping many different grassroots efforts for social change. (Couch). Also she has supported Feeding America, UNICE [United Nations Children s Fund] and Habitat for Humanity. (Couch). Taylor Swift is also advocating and supporting cancer research. So Taylor Swift teamed up with Ronan s mother, Maya Thompson to spread cancer research and awareness to the public (Parker Pope). Ms. Thompson describes what she feels as why nothing gets done with pediatric cancer research because it seems that some people are not educated enough to understand that childhood cancer is bad. (Parker Pope). Taylor Swift was so affected on what Ms. Thompson s blogs really mean that she stood up and reached on what the blogs mean by writing that

It is a type of hair extension, which is fixed to the hair with the help of micro tube or micro ring in order to ensure that it is secured in the same place. Now the I tip is pulled through the micro ring or tube. Then it is squeezed or compressed with pliers. Now, pliers are used to be sure that the extension remains fixed in a particular place. But one thing you should see that the method actually uses no heat or glue. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Micro rings made of silicon aluminum: The micro rings embedded with silicon give an advantage as the cushion pads pull the hair extension tight and do not allow it to slip. Release of Aspirin from a Polymer Matrix Experiment 1: Release of Aspirin from a Polymer Matrix Summary Firstly, aspirin was weigh to 0.25g which was then dissolved in 100cm3 of distilled water by heating to 80В°C using a hotplate. 2.0g of agar was added while stirring and was heated till dispersed, giving almost clear solution. The temperature was control so as not to overheat the agar. The agar was left to cool in an ice bath. Using a hollow cylinder, the agar was cut to approximately 4.0g (the exact weight of the agar was recorded). It was then transferred to a 250cm3 beaker filled with 50cm3 of distilled water and a conductivity probe was placed into the beaker to measure the conductance (Conductivity, Gt, пЃS/cm) against time (measured every 1 2 minutes for the interval of 30 minutes). To ensure consistency, the solution was swirl for approximately 10 seconds before the minute was up. Next, the conductance of aqueous solution with only aspirin present was calculated by getting the amount of aspirin through the formula (Y=X/102g aspirin) and it was dissolved into 50cm3 of water. The conductance was measured in order to obtain the Control (Ga). From there, the fractions of Aspirin released at any given time (Qt) were measured thus providing the following of the release of the Aspirin by plotting the graph of Log Qt versus Log t. • 51. Gender Perceptions Of Gender And Gender Stereotypes We often fail to realize how much the minute judgements we make about an individual solely on appearance, affect how we interact with them. For instance, the simple distinction of sex may influence how we regard another person, and thus directly influence our manner of speaking, our body language, even our facial expressions. These judgements are often based off of genderstereotypes, and gender ideology, two concepts so engrained is society we fail to recognize them usually (Guest 2014). To further examine the roles such judgements, play in everyday interactions, I sat in a cafГ© downtown for an hour and people watched, noting who was interacting with whom, and how different traits such as gender, or even social class influence them. Throughout the observation, it was fascinating to see how people let these judgements influence them entirely. Though more interesting may have been the patterns that unfolded. A particularly noticeable trend was one defined by sex. Women generally interacted with more women, while men interacted with more men. In these same sex interactions, women overall seemed more at ease, they maintained more relaxed postures, displayed a wider range of paralanguage, and even spoke at a louder volume. Oddly, men were divided when it came to same sex interactions. If the men were of equal status, they generally sustained good posture, with shoulders rolled back, though minimal tension. When speaking they utilized more paralanguage, especially if the two
