Greek Creation Vs Celtic Creation
In many ways the Greek creation and the Celtic creation are different. They re both different cultures,
they worship different gods, they re from different time periods. But in both stories of creation, there
is a violent overthrow that leads to the death of the previous ruler and the birth of new gods and
things.
First in these stories is the way new rulers begin their reign. In the Greek creation story, Cronus hid in
his mother s shadow until night fell and Uranus came to the sky on Earth. When Uranus was resting
Cronus sprang out of hiding and killed his father and became ruler. It is similar in Celtic creation as
well. Donn and Danu were so in love that they locked into a loving embrace and never separated.
When they had children, the children

Moral And Spiritual Parables In The Bible In The Bible
Parable 1
Throughout the Bible you ll discover many parables that tell a simple story of how Jesus illustrates
moral and spiritual lessons. Parables give one or more instructional lessons or principles that can be an
allegory. Parables also hold key words from Jesus readings that are meant to grasp people s attention
and making sure they are hearing what is said. Jesus wants the listeners to focus on what is being said
so that they will understand what He is teaching them. For example, He who has ears is a saying that
is worded differently so that the reader s attention is grasped. It has been said that a parable is an
earthly story with a heavenly meaning because of the hidden key words implemented in the text. Jesus
frequently used parables as a way to illustrate profound and divine truths. Readers can break down
parables and vigorously study them to better understand Jesus way of teaching, but mainly in order to
be able to connect to Him through them. The disciples noticed the change in Jesus teaching and asked
why he told a parable. In response Jesus said To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the
Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it has not been granted (Mathew 13:11). Its weird to think Jesus
would leave people in question. Jesus would explain to the disciples that those who have, to him more
shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be
taken away from him. This was a common teaching in Judaism.

Orphan Drug Act Research Paper
There have been 5,000 rare diseases that have been identified. The disease is considered rare in the
United States if less than 200,000 people have it. The pharmaceutical industry will not develop a cure
for the disease since it does not affect most of a population. For this reason, Congress passed the
Orphan Drug Act (ODA) in 1983.
Under the Ronald Reagan administration the Orphan Drug Act allows the federal government to help
out in the making of new drugs for these rare diseases. Incentives are given to the drug manufacturer
in order to intise them to find a cure or develop a drug that will help out. To find a cure can become
very expensive and time consuming for the drug companies. There are incentives given to the drug
manufacturers like grant funding, assistance in the drug development, seven year patent on the drug
post Food and Drug Administration approval, and so forth. In the end, the drug company has the better
end of the deal.
Some people do not fully understand what orphan drugs are. Orphan drugs are defined as drugs that
have not been developed yet because the need for that drug to be made is not in that of high demand
from the general public. Also, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More than 265 of the drugs have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Out of these
265 drugs 209 of these drugs are for the use of rare diseases. The increase has been astonishing taking
into consideration from when the Orphan Drug Act was first passed there were only about 15 orphan
drugs that were approved.
The Orphan Drug Act has come a long way and has helped many people maintain a long a prosperous
life. For those who have not been so fortunate many of us owe a great deal of thanks to these people.
If these people did not take the sacrifice many more people today would not be here if it was not for
the orphan drugs that were created for people with rare

Ukiyo-E Influence
For over 250 years, Japan was under strict military dictatorship. However, between the 1670s through
1865 was the Tokugawa period or also known as the Edo period, where Japan found internal peace
and economic growth (The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica). Not only has Japan found stability in
the Edo period, creativity flourished from the lower class of artisans and merchants through ukiyo e
printmaking. The term, ukiyo e, is a combination of uki (floating), yo (world), and e (pictures) that
originated as a Buddhist term to express impermanence of human life. Ukiyo e was experimented and
developed to become a popular art form that displayed familiar subjects, and illustrations that
circulated in books. This paper examines the influence of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During earlier developments, subject matter focused on human figures that were engaged in delights
of the city life. Artists took interest in enjoyable activities in landscape settings, paying particular
attention to contemporary affairs and fashions. Outdoor environments shifted to indoor activities,
where alluring scenes and portraits were printed of famous courtesans, displaying actresses, and
prostitutes that were accessible to mass audience in form of inexpensive woodblock print (Department
of Asian Art). However, breaking away from popular trends, Katsushika Hokusai discovered western
prints from Dutch trading, where he acquired some of their influences in his own works; low horizon
line, linear perspective, and a distinctive European color, Prussian blue. Through these main elements,
Hokusai presents a striking view of creativity and lifespan development. One of his most famous
works in the art world and is most iconic that represents Japanese art, Under the Wave off Kanagawa

Why Is Gallipoli Successful
The galipoli campaign lasted from April 25th until the end of January 2016.. The campaign was a
disaster and was understood as unsuccessful. Upon arrival at Anzac cove soldiers noticed the very
steep terrain above the beach. There are many reasons why the campaign was unsuccessful. One of the
reasons is the unorganised planning and poor command. The main prolem was the Mediterranean
Expeditionary Force (MEF) as the size of the force was far too little for the operation. Normally in
warfare the attacker needs to have a bigger size team then the defender however the MEF only hade
70, 000 men which was equivalent to one fifth of the opposing team. Both sides kept recruiting more
men however it was easier for te ottomans to get more men to gallipoli

John Bowlby And Mary Ainsworth s Attachment Theories
John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth s attachment theories derive from the idea that in early
development infants develop different attachment behaviors in relation to their caregivers. This
emotional bond between an infant and their parents can have an enduring impact on future
relationships throughout an individual s life. Research has shown that there does not have to be a
biological component for an infant to bond with a parent. Instead the bond or attachment is related to
quality and quantity of interaction between parent and child. (Boyd, Bee, p. 130) There are four main
attachment styles; secure attachment, insecure/avoidant attachment, insecure/ambivalent attachment,
and insecure/disorganized attachment. (Boyd, Bee, p. 133) Each of the four attachment styles come
with a variety of associated characteristics and behaviors. For example: a child who develops a secure
attachment will be an active explorer, easily soothed, and prefers their mother over a stranger. In
comparison an infant who develops an insecure/avoidant attachment avoid contact with their mother
and has no preference in interaction with their mother over a stranger. Insecure children will not resist
interaction from their mother, but they do not seek. Infants who have secure attachment will often seek
contact and interaction with their mother. (Boyd, Bee, p. 133) Growing up I had a very nurturing and
loving environment. Even though I am one of seven children my needs were always met by my
parents

Retail Location Strategies
Retail Location Strategies
Learning the New Rules for Site Selection Will Keep You Ahead of the Game.
Nationwide, the retail sector enjoyed robust growth during the first half of the decade, due in great
part to the continued expansion of big boxes. The excitement, however, is dying down, as several
category killer retailers experience slowing sales. The once zealous players are becoming more
cautious, and once again the rules of the game are changing for developers and commercial brokers.
New Development Drivers
Traditionally, retail centers have been defined as either regional, community, or neighborhood, with
standard tenants for each of these categories. Recently, though, the lines have blurred, as discount

Many of the nation s retailers are discovering the substantial dollar volumes that are largely untapped
in the major urban markets. Obsolescent industrial buildings in A locations are making way for new
supermarkets, Wal Marts, and Home Depots across the country. In fact, Wal Mart is considering
obsolescence in its new prototype by designing stores that can be converted into multifamily housing
in the future. Communities with enterprise zones and other economic incentives are getting a second
chance as retailers rediscover downtown in more affluent markets. A shining example is the Circle
Centre redevelopment in Indianapolis.
B locations, or those neighborhood centers once anchored by supermarkets, are getting a breath of
new life from Rite Aid, Walgreens, and CVS as consumers yearn for service and convenience.
In addition, the surviving supermarkets and large discount department stores are anchoring regional
malls. K mart now focuses on its superstore concept in metropolitan locations, with Wal Mart
continuing to identify gaps in suburban markets. There are fewer active big box players; therefore,
opportunities for regional mall locations, as they become repositioned, will become more prevalent.

Essay on The Civil War in Kenya
In early 1964, less than one month after independence, Kenya found itself in the midst of a civil war.
Riots, attacks on police stations, and assassinations quickly placed the Northern Frontier District
(NFD) under a state of emergency as pre existent conflicts escalated. British political decisions from
the colonial era played the largest role in dividing the country between the newly formed Kenyan
government and the Somalis of northern Kenya, who desired to unite with the Somali Republic. In an
attempt to marginalize the secessionist movement, President Jomo Kenyatta coined the term shifta, or
bandit in Oromo, to classify the military wing of the Northern Province People s Progressive Party
(NPPPP) in charge of anti government ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By the time Britain granted Kenya independence, the government realized that secession of the NFD
would benefit both Kenyans and Somalis. A Pan Somali movement had been fermenting in the Horn
of Africa as early as 1946, when British Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin suggested the creation of a
Greater Somalia ( Pursuing Pastoralists ). Kenyan Somalis assumed that independence was tantamount
to secession, but their aspirations were crushed by President Jomo Kenyatta s declaration that Kenya
will never surrender any inch of her territory to anyone ( The Somali Dispute: Kenya Beware ). This
statement was made despite the results of a 1962 commission of inquiry, reporting that over 87% of
the NFD population favored secession ( Being Oromo in Kenya ). The Human Rights Watch reports
that the locals were routinely rounded up and interrogated. Thousands of Kenyan Somalis were beaten
by the security forces and accused by the acting District Commissioner of harboring anti government
elements ( Kenya ). Kenyatta s intransigent policies and the political separation of Kenyans and
Somalis during the colonial era constituted the largest causal factor of the Shifta War. The groundwork
of post colonial Kenya was further stressed by radical economic disparities between Kenyans and
Somalis. Ethnic Somalis acquired resources through nomadic pastoralism, and hoped to continue their
practices regardless of state

Comparing The Matrix And Plato s Allegory Of The Cave
Do you take the red pill or the blue pill? Is ignorance bliss or is the truth worth knowing? These are
questions which revolves around the battle of accepting or rejecting the illusions that constructs all of
life. In both The Matrix and Plato s Allegory of the Cave contemplate the question of what is real?
According to Plato, knowledge gained through our senses is no more than an opinion, and to obtain
true knowledge we must gain by philosophical reasoning. In the Matrix written and directed by the
Wachowski sisters, grasped its own complex version of a false reality formed by our perception of life
as the actual one surrounds it. Furthermore, the film is no more than an interpretation of Plato s
parable by the way is was composed. In Plato s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Majority of Plato s works are written in dialogue in order in make the reader discover the importance
of his writing in gradually step to making it easily for the reader to accept. In the Allegory of the Cave
Plato structured it in the form of a dialogue between Socrates and Glaucon. According to Frédéric
Cossutta Dialogic in his article Characteristics of Philosophical Discourse:The Case of Plato s
Dialogues, The dialogical plays a constitutive role: the logical (demonstrative rules), the dialogical
(dialogical rules), and the dramaturgical (narrative rules). In fact, these three dimensions are
inextricable in the dialogues, having been separated for analytical purposes only. In making
participants responsible for what they say, we make plain the fact that the acceptance of the dialogical
rules, the ethical norms that sustain them, and their dramaturgical embodiment is the same acceptance.
To clarify the reasoning why Plato writing is in a dialogue, is because in order to make a person search
for the truth, it must be formed as a process of assertions, and by testing those assertions or
questioning these statements help build reasoning behind Plato s theory; How stating mere ideas is not
sufficient, and it is important to put those beliefs into a test of reasoning. Plato does this by making
Glaucon answer Socrates

Nuclear Deterrence And The Soviet Union
Nuclear deterrence was first identified in you during the Cold War between the United States and
Soviet Union. The United States and the Soviet Union both assembled a huge stockpile of nuclear
weapons. Beforehand the United States had the upper hand with nuclear weapons, but the Soviet
Union quickly emerged. It used this threat of massive retaliation as a means to deter Soviet hostility.
The Soviet Union insinuated that there was in fact leeway or a chance that a probable nuclear war
could be fought and won. At this moment the United States decided to adopt the idea of nuclear
deterrence. To be more threatening and convincing to the Soviet Union, the United States began to
develop and deploy several different types of systems or strategies that could be used to attack the
Soviet Union.
During 1960s the United States had by then developed three systems as a basis of strategic deterrence.
These three strategies were long range manned aircraft that carried nuclear bombs, land based large
scale ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads, and nuclear powered submarines on with nuclear
ballistic missiles. This new system became known as the Strategic Triad. Because of how powerful the
three strategies are, it will be almost impossible to destroy all three at once, so the strategic triad was
impervious.
In 1968 the non proliferation treaty was made up the objective is to prevent the spread of nuclear
weapons technology nuclear disarmament in general and complete

A Correlation Between Height And Shoe Size
Introduction I love buying shoes and I have always wondered if shoes and height is correlational. I
believe it is, based on my personal experiences. Shoe size generally is proportional to height. It s
common sense that shorter people have shorter feet than taller people. However, there is probably a
clearer relationship between shoe size and height when girls and boys are measured separately. The
shoe size is measured from the tip of the toe to the heel. The height of a person is measured from the
top of the head to the bottom of the feet.
Statement of Task The main purpose of this investigation is to see if there is a correlation between
height and shoe size.
Plan of Investigation The data is collected from 36 students from Garland High School. They were
from ages 16 18 years old. These students were picked based on convenience. This survey might be
somewhat biased because some students did not want to take it because they did not know their
information. The survey was anonymous, except for the gender. With the data I collected, I did the
standard deviation, scatter plot graphs, and correlation coefficient. Standard deviation is the diffusion
of data. I used it because it tells you how widely spread your data is. It s used when assessing data. To
find the standard deviation, it s necessary to first find the mean. Now we find how far each value is
from the mean (the deviation). Then, square the deviations and find the mean of those values. I used a

The Impact Of Community Service On The Community
Community service is simply defined as non paid work done by an individual, group, or organization
that benefits the community. While community service is commonly interchanged with volunteerism,
these two terms should not be interchanged with each other since the former could be a mandatory
task or requirement in certain situations. These situations include requirements for being granted
citizenship to a country, class projects or requirements, and it can also serve as a corrective sanction
for criminal charges.
Before we discuss the value of community service and its impacts on the individual, let us first look
into the relationship of the individual and to the society. With man being a social being, one can never
separate himself not only from his immediate community but to the larger society as well. Since time
immemorial, man has relied on the various mechanisms of community in order to address his needs
for survival. We can observe man s reliance on the community even dating back to the prehistoric era.
During this time, the primitive communal mode of production was dominant among communities,
where everyone had a part to play in feeding and taking care of the community members. But this was
not only the duties of the community members. While survival was the primary interest during the
primitive communal stage of society, by staying and living within a community, mean learned to
develop values, culture, and of course a set of rules to govern the community and maintain

The Waste Disposal Of The Chesapeake Bay
As humanity continues to prosper agriculturally, industrially, and in population, companies, as well as
local communities, have obsessively used the Ocean to toss their waste without consequences. The
formation of dead zones has been intensified by the increase runoff of fertilizers and the burning of
fossil fuels. Enhanced primary production causes algae to bloom at a constant rate creating a layer
near the surface. This layer acts as a roof to vegetation below resulting in a lack of oxygen which
organisms use to live. According to Robert Diaz and Rutger Rosenberg, Dead zones have now been
reported from more than 400 systems, affecting a total area of more than 245,000 square kilometers,
and are probably a key stressor on marine ecosystems. Specifically, the Chesapeake Bay has been
polluted to the point where areas have now been uninhabitable to marine life. Although waste disposal
is a difficult issue to solve, polluting bodies of water endangers the marine life, environment, and
health of organisms. While the Earth s surface is seventy percent covered in water, countries are
reliant on the Ocean s vegetation, marine life and resources. By eliminating those factors from coastal
countries, many communities will suffer economically and culturally. Specifically, countries that
catch, sell or eat seafood will have to exchange their lifestyle to meet their need for food and money in
order to survive. Ultimately, drinking water is not obtained through salt water from oceans

How to Prepare Moistened Chicken
How to Make the Moistest Chicken Chicken is my most favorite item to cook. Any piece dark or
white meat puts a smile on my face and belly. The difference in the way one cooks chicken, makes it
taste amazing or just alright. My family usually bakes chicken, but on special occasions we have fried
chicken. This paper will give clear and concise instructions on how to make the perfect baked whole
chicken. The first step in making whole chicken is the necessary ingredients. Go to the grocery store
and purchase the biggest whole chicken in the store because it will definitely shrink. A small whole
chicken may look very cute, but it will not be enough to feed 4 people. A technique that my family
uses to make whole chicken is brining. To make the brine spicy, the following items need to be bought
if not at home; cinnamon, cardamom, black peppercorns, dried red peppers, vegetable, chicken stock,
and a bag of ice to give the chicken a great flavor. After the ingredients are picked up from the grocery
store, there needs to be a place in the kitchen where you can lay all the items bought from the store so
they are easily visible. Pull out all the items from the grocery bags and lay them on an open spot.
Place the chicken on a cookie sheet so it can be in room temperature if the chicken is frozen. Before
the chicken is actually baked, the brine needs to be made. Grab a large pot which is available in the
kitchen. Pour in half of the vegetable and chicken stock into the pan. Also, add

Motivation, Motivation And Intrinsic Motivation

what actually support us to attain our dream in daily life. Although huge numbers of scientists keep
researching on how motivation works in our brain, we cannot make a conclusion about the truth of the
motivation in the past century. Luckily, Daniel Pink announces his latest results, The Puzzle of
Motivation , on TED in 2009, which gives us a brand new idea about our motivation and how we
could improve us by learning his method. In this essay, I will illustrates the main point of Daniel Pink,

could have even more complex motivation methods, such as extrinsic and intrinsic combined
motivation, depends on different tasks. Reward could give us positive motivation and improve us
work efficiency, however, it is limited on easy job, and people given a clearly direction on how to
complete the mission. For creative and complex task, rewards can narrow our views, or even harm.

My Graduate Program At Ladoke Akintola University Of...
The dominant thread that ties my past, present and future together is a dedication to maximizing my
opportunities so I may contribute significantly within and beyond my sphere of influence. My ability
to recognize necessity and innovatively provide practical solutions enabled me to excel in many
endeavors. Early in my undergraduate program at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria,
I recognized the poor conditions of our learning environment. The lecture room was insufficiently
ventilated and barely accommodated the students, which made lectures uncomfortable because of
congestion, heat and high humidity. Additionally, the insufficient supply of laboratory chemicals to
perform experiments made many students cluster together in the lab to make use of the few available
resources. I took on an executive position in my departmental students association in an effort to
address these issues. My colleagues and I forwarded a petition on behalf of 300 undergraduate
students to the departmental administration for the much needed overhauls. We also approached our
departmental alumni and nearby chemical companies to solicit help. Our efforts saw the suggested
improvements implemented, which enhanced our learning experience for the rest of our program. In
this executive position, I sought ways to enrich and meet the needs of the students I represented. I
presented workshops on software, like MATLAB and HYSYS, to over 50 students to help them

Is Lady Macbeth A Monster
Is She a Monster?
One of the main characters in The Tragedy of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, has always been an object of
intense criticism. She is sometimes regarded to as cruel and abhorrent, but there is indication that
Shakespeare did not intend for her to be regarded so harshly. By assessing her character in relation to
her actions, we can see that Shakespeare possibly wanted Lady Macbeth to be judged by association
with Macbeth. What appears to be ruthlessness is really her dedication to her husband. Macbeth
desperately wants the throne, so Lady Macbeth does too. All her actions are done to get her husband,
as well as herself, on the throne.
Lady Macbeth plays the role of one who gives the incentive to Macbeth, as well as one who supports

Shortly after having Banquo slain, Macbeth believes he sees his ghost. He begins to speak to the
ghost, which is not perceptible to the others. Realizing that her spouse might say something linking
him with the murders of Duncan and Banquo, Lady Macbeth makes justifications for his behavior. She
says to the lords, My lord is often thus, / And hath been from his youth. Pray you, keep seat. / The fit
is momentary; (III.iv.53 55). She attempts to hide her husband s insanity while also standing up for
him. The death of Lady Macbeth is vital in understanding her mental ailment. At the commencement
of the play she appeared to be unyielding and insensitive to all feelings, but as the play progressed her
morality continued to overcome her. She wears down to a point where she is disheartened, and feels
the only answer is suicide. This self destruction shows that Lady Macbeth has emotions, and qualms
all her wrongdoings. Although regarded by some as fiendishly cruel and monstrous, Lady Macbeth is
not intended to be thought of in that way. Her demise is proof that she has a sense of right and wrong,
and that she possesses a sense of grief and

sector and controlling inflation would bring long expansions and limited recessions. What were the
factors that caused this period of stable economic growth? This period of low volatility was due to
both Fed regulation and good timing or luck. The financial crisis has obviously proven that the Fed
has not fully tamed the business cycle. Whether any rise in volatility is more likely temporary than
permanent will depend on the cause of the rise in volatility (Clark, 5 6). Now the question remains is if
The Great Moderation is really over, and if the economy can return to this period of low volatility.
Some believe that this rise in volatility is only temporary. Why is low aggregate volatility so
important? For starters, the market is more stable and investors animal spirits are kept in check.
People are more optimistic about employment and economic growth. Low inflation helps keep
economic and business forecasting less volatile. Lower volatility of inflation improves market
functioning, makes economic planning easier, and reduces the resources devoted to hedging inflation
risks (Bernanke, 145). A stable economy is always the goal for the Fed. In order to have a stable

The stone looked normal, but was runic to the tribe.

Tintinnabulation a sound in which ringing/tinkling occurs
When the church bells ring, tintinnabulation occurs.
Alliteration:
What a tale of terror, now their turbulency tells! line 38
When the t sound/letter is repeated, the rhythm of the line sounds much better, but it also adds a
happy, upbeat mood that gets added, which is weird because this stanza is talking about the alarm
bells, that warn of a dangerous situation.
Onomatopoeia:
How they clang, and clash, and roar! line 54
Onomatopoeia is added here and show the normal adjectives that are described with bells (clang and
clash), but Poe uses roar which is unusual and is typically not an adjective of bells. The one different
word starts with a different letter than the other two. However when the reader gives it a deeper

What Is The Eclectic Perspective
According to Kevin Johnston he stated that when you start up a business wither it is big or small you
instantly become a leader with leadership training or without it. (Johnston 2015) what the Eclectic
perspective means is to combine different approaches to meet the need of a client or in criminal justice
terms the administrators or law enforcement officers in general to help discuss current and future
criminal justice administrative issues like police corruption or other issues. After reading pages 76

Part 1 Gasoline Research Paper
Part One: Gasoline
1.
Gasoline is used in a wide array of appliances, for example, your car, tractors, and lawn mowers of the
like. This is a good thing because one substance that is composed of a liquid and a mix of alkanes and
cycloalkanes (5 12 carbon atoms) is that versatile. Some other advantages of gasoline are that it is
very common, making it easily accessible and more convenient for shorter periods of time. It starts up
immediately, improves the mobility of smaller generating sets, relatively lighter and quieter in
comparison to diesel generating sets and engines, they also have a longer lifespan. However, nothing
is perfect and gasoline does have its flaws.
A few of the downfalls to gasoline include a very short shelf life (up ... Show more content on

There are many way fuel can cause environmental harm this can come in many forms, but one is that
the use of gasoline is affecting air quality by producing emissions. This is because the process of
refining the crude oil releases toxins into the atmosphere and thus causing air pollution. Burning
gasoline, starting your car and driving it creates a small controlled fire, causes the combustion reaction
to occur, producing water vapor and the infamous Carbon Dioxide which is awful for the environment
and people breathing it in. This is due to gasoline (which is cleaner than coal) it still contributes to the
production of greenhouse gases. Another thing about gasoline that causes harm to the environment is
oil spills that occur mostly when oil is lost during transportation.
There are four main things that stem off of fuel emissions, these are carbon monoxide, nitrogen
oxides, particulate matter and unburned hydrocarbons. These are formed by the fuel being burned and
released through the combustion reaction. The main components of gasoline that combust in gasoline
are isooctane, butane, 3 ethyltoluene and an octane enhancer called MTBE (methyl tert butyl ether).

Examples Of Home Sweet Home In The Great Gatsby
Home Sweet Home The Great Gatsby is a good example of how the characters in the book reflect their
homes. The book also reflects on how this affects the characters and their relationships Tom and Daisy
live in luxury as Nick described their house on page six he says ; Their house was even more elaborate
than I expected, a cheerful red and white Georgian Colonial mansion, overlooking the bay. The lawn
started at the beach and ran toward the front door for a quarter of a mile, jumping over sun dials and
brick walls and burning gardens一finally when it reached the house drifting up the side in bright vines
as though from the momentum of its run. The front was broken by a line of french windows, glowing
now with reflected gold and wide open to the warm windy afternoon, and Tom Buchanan in riding
clothes was standing with his legs a part on the front porch. (6) He explains how the house and Tom
are similar both large and sturdy, Yet when Nick describes them entering the french doors it seems
whimsical and light. This describes Daisy in many ways Although she shows throughout the book that
she doesn t care about many things, she even says ... I hope she ll be a fool that s the best thing a girl
can be in this world, a beautiful little fool. (7) The Buchanan household reflects its owners in many
ways even toward the end of the book when Gatsby dies the couple is cold and emotionless and their
house seems barren and empty. George and Myrtle Wilson don t live like Tom and

Enlightenment Influence On America
Effects of the Enlightenment on America
During the 17th and 18th century European philosophers eliminated the old traditions of monarchy
and challenged the church by introducing the idea that man could understand for himself. The Age of
Enlightenment introduced new concepts in science, philosophy, society and politics. The
Enlightenment changed both society and government, causing the formation of the United States of
America. Many of the Founding Fathers of America have based their ideas on those of The

The Work And Paintings Of Jacob Lawrence
For my research paper, I will be studying the work and paintings of Jacob Lawrence. Jacob Lawrence
was an American painter and was very highly commended African American artist of the 20 century.
What he is best known for is his Migration Series. He was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey on
September 7, 1917. When he was the age of two his mother deposited him and his two younger
siblings in foster care in Philadelphia after his parents divorced. When he was thirteen he went to work
in New York City and there he went to join his mother. He also spent fifteen years teaching as a
professor at the University of Washington. Lawrence was also widely known for producing narrative
collections such as the Migration Series and War Series. Shortly after Lawrence had arrived there, he
was introduced to art when his mother had enrolled him in Utopia Children s Center, which then had
an after school art program. At the age of 16 he dropped out of school and took classes at the Harlem
Art Workshop where it was taught by Charles Ashton and he very often visited the Metropolitan
Museum of Art. In 1937, he won a scholarship to the American Artist School in New York. When he
graduated in 1939 he had received funding from the Works Progress Administration Federal Art
Project. By that time, he had already established his own type of modernism and that is then when he
began to create his narrative series; where he would paint about 30 paintings or more for that one
subject. In 1941, he had

Is Dr Moreau A Monster
What is the line that we draws consider ourselves humans or what makes us consider others or
ourselves a Monster. The book the island of Doctor Moreau makes us think who are the humans and
who are the real monsters. I think the true monsters of the island are Dr. Moreau, Montgomery, and
Pendrick.
What makes Moreau a monster is his want to be a God to all of his creations on the island, to create
the perfect version of a human in his eyes. An example of this is on page 58 59 The Book the island of

Moreau without affectation. As it is, you have wasted the best part of my day with your confounded

the breaches are citing a violation of The Privacy Act, section 552a of title 5, which governs the means

The Impact Of Teenagers In The 1950 s
The 1950 s was a time of great social change. The word, teen ager was recently coined and applied to
people aged thirteen to nineteen. During this decade, people s perception of youth and adolescents
drastically changed as children became more rebellious. Previous to 1950. society consisted of two
main stages of human development: children and adults. When the Baby Boom started in 1946,
producing more babies, a new era of music, attitudes, practices, and dance began to appeal to kids that
did not feel socially accepted by adults in society. This was the start of the teenage rebellion. With
increased teenager presence came more disapproval because of rebellious behaviour. Teenagers were
pitted against media, parents, and local authority. Teenagers started disobeying parents, getting
expelled from school, and fighting back against authority. Indeed, the 50s were a time that saw
upheavals towards the impact of the music, change of attitudes, new fashions, and new dances
developed children into teenagers. The impact music had on teenagers was significant. Teenager s
developed a new style of music called Rock n Roll, because the lyrics reflected and embraced their
lives. High school sweethearts, fast cars, and rebellion against authority resembled what teenagers
craved the most. Parents disliked the message and influence behind the lyrics of Rock n Roll, because
they believed it caused juvenile delinquency. Parents hated the sexuality of the songs, the performers,

This study demonstrates that the fetal left ventricle destined to function in a univentricular circulation
has similar patterns of deformation to those of a normal fetal left ventricle. The fetal SLV

Isolated case reports, however, provide the only information about the evolution in the uterus of this
spectrum of diseases in the second and third trimesters, and they suggest potential progression in the
degree of left heart hypoplasia. Therefore, in the present study, the researchers retrospectively
reviewed the prenatal and postnatal echocardiograms of 21 fetuses with left heart obstructive lesions.
Table 1 shows the research that was found on the 21 fetuses (Hornberger et al; 1995). The researcher
also attempted to identify prenatal features that could indicate the severity of postnatal left heart
obstruction and hypoplasia. Fetuses were divided into groups according to whether postnatally the left
heart was capable or incapable of supporting the systemic circulation in the presence of a patent aortic
valve. Group 3 included fetuses with aortic atresia. At the initial examination, left heart dimensions
were normal or reduced, with the most unusually small measurements in group 3. Three fetuses in
group 2 and most in group 1 had normal initial left heart dimensions. Subsequent growth of left heart
structures either paralleled normal growth or was reduced, the latter resulting in the development or
progression of left heart hypoplasia. All left heart dimensions grew more slowly in group 2 and group
3 than in group 1. Other prenatal features observed only in groups 2 and 3 included reversed or
bidirectional foramen ovale flow and retrograde distal arch flow. Initial mid trimester mitral valve and
the growth rates of all left heart structures correlated strongly with postnatal left ventricular end
diastolic dimension, there could be additional indicators of postnatal disease severity. In group 1, one

The Ng Ā Ti Te Korotuohu Tribe Essay
Introduction
The Ngāti Te Korotuohu tribe has come to a law firm in order to ask for advice about claiming full
chieftainship over all of the Waihau, including all of the coastal areas, and to see whether they are able
to get assistance from the commonwealth jurisdictions as well as the United Nations in order to
progress with their claims.
Facts
Ngāti Korotuohu is an iwi (tribe) whose traditional tribal sea and land domain, known as Waihau, is a
territory which includes a large natural harbour and coastline of approximately 100 kms in the north
west of the North Island of Aotearoa/New Zealand. The area of Waihau is approximately 2,400 square
hectares, much of that being bordered by the sea and they often engaged in deep sea fishing 15 kms
out to sea. Most of Waihau has been passed down from generation to generation since the beginning of
time to present day.
The tribes continue to live on the land and exploit its resources for everyday survival; including
fishing, harvesting kaimoana (seafood), manu (birds) and other traditional foods and medicines,
bathing and cooking in different hot pools along the beach and elsewhere, for collecting hangi stones
and other minerals such as gravel for constructing building foundations and paths, using pounamu
(greenstone jade) for rituals, carving and trade, and the tribe even used raw petroleum from a section
of Waihau for fuelling fires and lamps.

  • 2. Greek Creation Vs Celtic Creation In many ways the Greek creation and the Celtic creation are different. They re both different cultures, they worship different gods, they re from different time periods. But in both stories of creation, there is a violent overthrow that leads to the death of the previous ruler and the birth of new gods and things. First in these stories is the way new rulers begin their reign. In the Greek creation story, Cronus hid in his mother s shadow until night fell and Uranus came to the sky on Earth. When Uranus was resting Cronus sprang out of hiding and killed his father and became ruler. It is similar in Celtic creation as well. Donn and Danu were so in love that they locked into a loving embrace and never separated. When they had children, the children ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Moral And Spiritual Parables In The Bible In The Bible Parable 1 Throughout the Bible you ll discover many parables that tell a simple story of how Jesus illustrates moral and spiritual lessons. Parables give one or more instructional lessons or principles that can be an allegory. Parables also hold key words from Jesus readings that are meant to grasp people s attention and making sure they are hearing what is said. Jesus wants the listeners to focus on what is being said so that they will understand what He is teaching them. For example, He who has ears is a saying that is worded differently so that the reader s attention is grasped. It has been said that a parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning because of the hidden key words implemented in the text. Jesus frequently used parables as a way to illustrate profound and divine truths. Readers can break down parables and vigorously study them to better understand Jesus way of teaching, but mainly in order to be able to connect to Him through them. The disciples noticed the change in Jesus teaching and asked why he told a parable. In response Jesus said To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it has not been granted (Mathew 13:11). Its weird to think Jesus would leave people in question. Jesus would explain to the disciples that those who have, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him. This was a common teaching in Judaism. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Orphan Drug Act Research Paper There have been 5,000 rare diseases that have been identified. The disease is considered rare in the United States if less than 200,000 people have it. The pharmaceutical industry will not develop a cure for the disease since it does not affect most of a population. For this reason, Congress passed the Orphan Drug Act (ODA) in 1983. Under the Ronald Reagan administration the Orphan Drug Act allows the federal government to help out in the making of new drugs for these rare diseases. Incentives are given to the drug manufacturer in order to intise them to find a cure or develop a drug that will help out. To find a cure can become very expensive and time consuming for the drug companies. There are incentives given to the drug manufacturers like grant funding, assistance in the drug development, seven year patent on the drug post Food and Drug Administration approval, and so forth. In the end, the drug company has the better end of the deal. Some people do not fully understand what orphan drugs are. Orphan drugs are defined as drugs that have not been developed yet because the need for that drug to be made is not in that of high demand from the general public. Also, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... More than 265 of the drugs have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Out of these 265 drugs 209 of these drugs are for the use of rare diseases. The increase has been astonishing taking into consideration from when the Orphan Drug Act was first passed there were only about 15 orphan drugs that were approved. The Orphan Drug Act has come a long way and has helped many people maintain a long a prosperous life. For those who have not been so fortunate many of us owe a great deal of thanks to these people. If these people did not take the sacrifice many more people today would not be here if it was not for the orphan drugs that were created for people with rare ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Ukiyo-E Influence For over 250 years, Japan was under strict military dictatorship. However, between the 1670s through 1865 was the Tokugawa period or also known as the Edo period, where Japan found internal peace and economic growth (The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica). Not only has Japan found stability in the Edo period, creativity flourished from the lower class of artisans and merchants through ukiyo e printmaking. The term, ukiyo e, is a combination of uki (floating), yo (world), and e (pictures) that originated as a Buddhist term to express impermanence of human life. Ukiyo e was experimented and developed to become a popular art form that displayed familiar subjects, and illustrations that circulated in books. This paper examines the influence of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During earlier developments, subject matter focused on human figures that were engaged in delights of the city life. Artists took interest in enjoyable activities in landscape settings, paying particular attention to contemporary affairs and fashions. Outdoor environments shifted to indoor activities, where alluring scenes and portraits were printed of famous courtesans, displaying actresses, and prostitutes that were accessible to mass audience in form of inexpensive woodblock print (Department of Asian Art). However, breaking away from popular trends, Katsushika Hokusai discovered western prints from Dutch trading, where he acquired some of their influences in his own works; low horizon line, linear perspective, and a distinctive European color, Prussian blue. Through these main elements, Hokusai presents a striking view of creativity and lifespan development. One of his most famous works in the art world and is most iconic that represents Japanese art, Under the Wave off Kanagawa (figure_). Another popular print, Thirty size view of Mount Fuji, a polychrome woodblock print that is arranged in a composition to frame Mount Fuji. It is made of ink, color on paper where the images in series features various representations of a mountain (Harris). • 6. Why Is Gallipoli Successful The galipoli campaign lasted from April 25th until the end of January 2016.. The campaign was a disaster and was understood as unsuccessful. Upon arrival at Anzac cove soldiers noticed the very steep terrain above the beach. There are many reasons why the campaign was unsuccessful. One of the reasons is the unorganised planning and poor command. The main prolem was the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (MEF) as the size of the force was far too little for the operation. Normally in warfare the attacker needs to have a bigger size team then the defender however the MEF only hade 70, 000 men which was equivalent to one fifth of the opposing team. Both sides kept recruiting more men however it was easier for te ottomans to get more men to gallipoli ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. John Bowlby And Mary Ainsworth s Attachment Theories John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth s attachment theories derive from the idea that in early development infants develop different attachment behaviors in relation to their caregivers. This emotional bond between an infant and their parents can have an enduring impact on future relationships throughout an individual s life. Research has shown that there does not have to be a biological component for an infant to bond with a parent. Instead the bond or attachment is related to quality and quantity of interaction between parent and child. (Boyd, Bee, p. 130) There are four main attachment styles; secure attachment, insecure/avoidant attachment, insecure/ambivalent attachment, and insecure/disorganized attachment. (Boyd, Bee, p. 133) Each of the four attachment styles come with a variety of associated characteristics and behaviors. For example: a child who develops a secure attachment will be an active explorer, easily soothed, and prefers their mother over a stranger. In comparison an infant who develops an insecure/avoidant attachment avoid contact with their mother and has no preference in interaction with their mother over a stranger. Insecure children will not resist interaction from their mother, but they do not seek. Infants who have secure attachment will often seek contact and interaction with their mother. (Boyd, Bee, p. 133) Growing up I had a very nurturing and loving environment. Even though I am one of seven children my needs were always met by my parents ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Retail Location Strategies Retail Location Strategies Learning the New Rules for Site Selection Will Keep You Ahead of the Game. Nationwide, the retail sector enjoyed robust growth during the first half of the decade, due in great part to the continued expansion of big boxes. The excitement, however, is dying down, as several category killer retailers experience slowing sales. The once zealous players are becoming more cautious, and once again the rules of the game are changing for developers and commercial brokers. New Development Drivers Traditionally, retail centers have been defined as either regional, community, or neighborhood, with standard tenants for each of these categories. Recently, though, the lines have blurred, as discount department stores ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many of the nation s retailers are discovering the substantial dollar volumes that are largely untapped in the major urban markets. Obsolescent industrial buildings in A locations are making way for new supermarkets, Wal Marts, and Home Depots across the country. In fact, Wal Mart is considering obsolescence in its new prototype by designing stores that can be converted into multifamily housing in the future. Communities with enterprise zones and other economic incentives are getting a second chance as retailers rediscover downtown in more affluent markets. A shining example is the Circle Centre redevelopment in Indianapolis. B locations, or those neighborhood centers once anchored by supermarkets, are getting a breath of new life from Rite Aid, Walgreens, and CVS as consumers yearn for service and convenience. In addition, the surviving supermarkets and large discount department stores are anchoring regional malls. K mart now focuses on its superstore concept in metropolitan locations, with Wal Mart continuing to identify gaps in suburban markets. There are fewer active big box players; therefore, opportunities for regional mall locations, as they become repositioned, will become more prevalent. • 9. Essay on The Civil War in Kenya In early 1964, less than one month after independence, Kenya found itself in the midst of a civil war. Riots, attacks on police stations, and assassinations quickly placed the Northern Frontier District (NFD) under a state of emergency as pre existent conflicts escalated. British political decisions from the colonial era played the largest role in dividing the country between the newly formed Kenyan government and the Somalis of northern Kenya, who desired to unite with the Somali Republic. In an attempt to marginalize the secessionist movement, President Jomo Kenyatta coined the term shifta, or bandit in Oromo, to classify the military wing of the Northern Province People s Progressive Party (NPPPP) in charge of anti government ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By the time Britain granted Kenya independence, the government realized that secession of the NFD would benefit both Kenyans and Somalis. A Pan Somali movement had been fermenting in the Horn of Africa as early as 1946, when British Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin suggested the creation of a Greater Somalia ( Pursuing Pastoralists ). Kenyan Somalis assumed that independence was tantamount to secession, but their aspirations were crushed by President Jomo Kenyatta s declaration that Kenya will never surrender any inch of her territory to anyone ( The Somali Dispute: Kenya Beware ). This statement was made despite the results of a 1962 commission of inquiry, reporting that over 87% of the NFD population favored secession ( Being Oromo in Kenya ). The Human Rights Watch reports that the locals were routinely rounded up and interrogated. Thousands of Kenyan Somalis were beaten by the security forces and accused by the acting District Commissioner of harboring anti government elements ( Kenya ). Kenyatta s intransigent policies and the political separation of Kenyans and Somalis during the colonial era constituted the largest causal factor of the Shifta War. According to Plato, knowledge gained through our senses is no more than an opinion, and to obtain true knowledge we must gain by philosophical reasoning. Majority of Plato s works are written in dialogue in order in make the reader discover the importance of his writing in gradually step to making it easily for the reader to accept. In the Allegory of the Cave Plato structured it in the form of a dialogue between Socrates and Glaucon. According to Frédéric Cossutta Dialogic in his article Characteristics of Philosophical Discourse:The Case of Plato s Dialogues, The dialogical plays a constitutive role: the logical (demonstrative rules), the dialogical (dialogical rules), and the dramaturgical (narrative rules). In fact, these three dimensions are inextricable in the dialogues, having been separated for analytical purposes only. In making participants responsible for what they say, we make plain the fact that the acceptance of the dialogical rules, the ethical norms that sustain them, and their dramaturgical embodiment is the same acceptance. To clarify the reasoning why Plato writing is in a dialogue, is because in order to make a person search for the truth, it must be formed as a process of assertions, and by testing those assertions or questioning these statements help build reasoning behind Plato s theory; How stating mere ideas is not sufficient, and it is important to put those beliefs into a test of reasoning. • 13. Nuclear Deterrence And The Soviet Union Nuclear deterrence was first identified in you during the Cold War between the United States and Soviet Union. The United States and the Soviet Union both assembled a huge stockpile of nuclear weapons. Beforehand the United States had the upper hand with nuclear weapons, but the Soviet Union quickly emerged. It used this threat of massive retaliation as a means to deter Soviet hostility. The Soviet Union insinuated that there was in fact leeway or a chance that a probable nuclear war could be fought and won. At this moment the United States decided to adopt the idea of nuclear deterrence. To be more threatening and convincing to the Soviet Union, the United States began to develop and deploy several different types of systems or strategies that could be used to attack the Soviet Union. During 1960s the United States had by then developed three systems as a basis of strategic deterrence. These three strategies were long range manned aircraft that carried nuclear bombs, land based large scale ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads, and nuclear powered submarines on with nuclear ballistic missiles. This new system became known as the Strategic Triad. Because of how powerful the three strategies are, it will be almost impossible to destroy all three at once, so the strategic triad was impervious. Shoe size generally is proportional to height. It s common sense that shorter people have shorter feet than taller people. However, there is probably a clearer relationship between shoe size and height when girls and boys are measured separately. The shoe size is measured from the tip of the toe to the heel. The height of a person is measured from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet. Statement of Task The main purpose of this investigation is to see if there is a correlation between height and shoe size. Plan of Investigation The data is collected from 36 students from Garland High School. They were from ages 16 18 years old. These students were picked based on convenience. This survey might be somewhat biased because some students did not want to take it because they did not know their information. The survey was anonymous, except for the gender. With the data I collected, I did the standard deviation, scatter plot graphs, and correlation coefficient. Standard deviation is the diffusion of data. I used it because it tells you how widely spread your data is. It s used when assessing data. To find the standard deviation, it s necessary to first find the mean. Now we find how far each value is from the mean (the deviation). Then, square the deviations and find the mean of those values. I used a scatter plot graph ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. The Impact Of Community Service On The Community Community service is simply defined as non paid work done by an individual, group, or organization that benefits the community. While community service is commonly interchanged with volunteerism, these two terms should not be interchanged with each other since the former could be a mandatory task or requirement in certain situations. These situations include requirements for being granted citizenship to a country, class projects or requirements, and it can also serve as a corrective sanction for criminal charges. Before we discuss the value of community service and its impacts on the individual, let us first look into the relationship of the individual and to the society. With man being a social being, one can never separate himself not only from his immediate community but to the larger society as well. Since time immemorial, man has relied on the various mechanisms of community in order to address his needs for survival. We can observe man s reliance on the community even dating back to the prehistoric era. During this time, the primitive communal mode of production was dominant among communities, where everyone had a part to play in feeding and taking care of the community members. But this was not only the duties of the community members. While survival was the primary interest during the primitive communal stage of society, by staying and living within a community, mean learned to develop values, culture, and of course a set of rules to govern the community and maintain ... • 17. The Waste Disposal Of The Chesapeake Bay As humanity continues to prosper agriculturally, industrially, and in population, companies, as well as local communities, have obsessively used the Ocean to toss their waste without consequences. The formation of dead zones has been intensified by the increase runoff of fertilizers and the burning of fossil fuels. Enhanced primary production causes algae to bloom at a constant rate creating a layer near the surface. This layer acts as a roof to vegetation below resulting in a lack of oxygen which organisms use to live. According to Robert Diaz and Rutger Rosenberg, Dead zones have now been reported from more than 400 systems, affecting a total area of more than 245,000 square kilometers, and are probably a key stressor on marine ecosystems. Specifically, the Chesapeake Bay has been polluted to the point where areas have now been uninhabitable to marine life. Although waste disposal is a difficult issue to solve, polluting bodies of water endangers the marine life, environment, and health of organisms. While the Earth s surface is seventy percent covered in water, countries are reliant on the Ocean s vegetation, marine life and resources. By eliminating those factors from coastal countries, many communities will suffer economically and culturally. Specifically, countries that catch, sell or eat seafood will have to exchange their lifestyle to meet their need for food and money in order to survive. The difference in the way one cooks chicken, makes it taste amazing or just alright. My family usually bakes chicken, but on special occasions we have fried chicken. This paper will give clear and concise instructions on how to make the perfect baked whole chicken. The first step in making whole chicken is the necessary ingredients. Go to the grocery store and purchase the biggest whole chicken in the store because it will definitely shrink. A small whole chicken may look very cute, but it will not be enough to feed 4 people. A technique that my family uses to make whole chicken is brining. To make the brine spicy, the following items need to be bought if not at home; cinnamon, cardamom, black peppercorns, dried red peppers, vegetable, chicken stock, and a bag of ice to give the chicken a great flavor. After the ingredients are picked up from the grocery store, there needs to be a place in the kitchen where you can lay all the items bought from the store so they are easily visible. Pull out all the items from the grocery bags and lay them on an open spot. Place the chicken on a cookie sheet so it can be in room temperature if the chicken is frozen. Before the chicken is actually baked, the brine needs to be made. Grab a large pot which is available in the kitchen. Pour in half of the vegetable and chicken stock into the pan. Also, add ... The dominant thread that ties my past, present and future together is a dedication to maximizing my opportunities so I may contribute significantly within and beyond my sphere of influence. My ability to recognize necessity and innovatively provide practical solutions enabled me to excel in many endeavors. Early in my undergraduate program at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Nigeria, I recognized the poor conditions of our learning environment. The lecture room was insufficiently ventilated and barely accommodated the students, which made lectures uncomfortable because of congestion, heat and high humidity. Additionally, the insufficient supply of laboratory chemicals to perform experiments made many students cluster together in the lab to make use of the few available resources. I took on an executive position in my departmental students association in an effort to address these issues. My colleagues and I forwarded a petition on behalf of 300 undergraduate students to the departmental administration for the much needed overhauls. We also approached our departmental alumni and nearby chemical companies to solicit help. Our efforts saw the suggested improvements implemented, which enhanced our learning experience for the rest of our program. The Former Fed chairman Ben Bernanke has even gone as far to say that the Fed has tamed the business cycle. Supporters of this idea believed that deregulation of the financial sector and controlling inflation would bring long expansions and limited recessions. What were the factors that caused this period of stable economic growth? This period of low volatility was due to both Fed regulation and good timing or luck. The financial crisis has obviously proven that the Fed has not fully tamed the business cycle. Whether any rise in volatility is more likely temporary than permanent will depend on the cause of the rise in volatility (Clark, 5 6). Now the question remains is if The Great Moderation is really over, and if the economy can return to this period of low volatility. Some believe that this rise in volatility is only temporary. Why is low aggregate volatility so important? For starters, the market is more stable and investors animal spirits are kept in check. People are more optimistic about employment and economic growth. Low inflation helps keep economic and business forecasting less volatile. Lower volatility of inflation improves market functioning, makes economic planning easier, and reduces the resources devoted to hedging inflation risks (Bernanke, 145). Still I hesitated for a moment. I ll take the risk, said I, at last, and with a revolver in each hand I walked up up the beach towards them. That s better, said Moreau without affectation. As it is, you have wasted the best part of my day with your confounded panic. And with a touch of contempt that humiliated me he and Montgomery turned and went on in silence before me. This show Prendrick is a monster because he failed to stop the monster s he had two revolver s in his hand. The OPM breach, one of the largest reported on federal government systems, was detected in April 2015, partly through the use of the Department of Homeland Security s (DHS s) Einstein system an intrusion detection system that screens federal Internet traffic to identify potential cyber threats. This and other breaches have not brought about successful litigation, though lawyers for those affected by the breaches are citing a violation of The Privacy Act, section 552a of title 5, which governs the means by which federal agencies and, in some instances, their contractors collect, maintain, use, and disseminate individually identifiable information in a system of records. Unlike FISMA, The Privacy Act authorizes an individual to bring a civil action in federal district court whenever an agency fails to comply with the Privacy Act or a related rule in such a way as to have an adverse effect on an individual , according to Is There a Judicial Remedy for Victims of Federal Data Breaches? • 35. The Impact Of Teenagers In The 1950 s The 1950 s was a time of great social change. The word, teen ager was recently coined and applied to people aged thirteen to nineteen. During this decade, people s perception of youth and adolescents drastically changed as children became more rebellious. Previous to 1950. society consisted of two main stages of human development: children and adults. When the Baby Boom started in 1946, producing more babies, a new era of music, attitudes, practices, and dance began to appeal to kids that did not feel socially accepted by adults in society. This was the start of the teenage rebellion. With increased teenager presence came more disapproval because of rebellious behaviour. Teenagers were pitted against media, parents, and local authority. Teenagers started disobeying parents, getting expelled from school, and fighting back against authority. Indeed, the 50s were a time that saw upheavals towards the impact of the music, change of attitudes, new fashions, and new dances developed children into teenagers. The impact music had on teenagers was significant. Teenager s developed a new style of music called Rock n Roll, because the lyrics reflected and embraced their lives. High school sweethearts, fast cars, and rebellion against authority resembled what teenagers craved the most. Parents disliked the message and influence behind the lyrics of Rock n Roll, because they believed it caused juvenile delinquency. Parents hated the sexuality of the songs, the performers, ... • 39. Left Ventricular Circulation This study demonstrates that the fetal left ventricle destined to function in a univentricular circulation has similar patterns of deformation to those of a normal fetal left ventricle. The fetal SLV demonstrates Doppler changes that suggest enhanced early diastolic relaxation in addition to a greater reliance on atrial contraction for diastolic filling. To address this issue, sequential two dimensional echocardiographic studies were performed in normal newborns during the first days of life. Global and regional left ventricular wall motion was quantified by computer digitization with the use of an automated edge detection algorithm (an automatic border detection algorithm is presented that is used with ultrafast computed tomographic images ... Isolated case reports, however, provide the only information about the evolution in the uterus of this spectrum of diseases in the second and third trimesters, and they suggest potential progression in the degree of left heart hypoplasia. Therefore, in the present study, the researchers retrospectively reviewed the prenatal and postnatal echocardiograms of 21 fetuses with left heart obstructive lesions. Table 1 shows the research that was found on the 21 fetuses (Hornberger et al; 1995). The researcher also attempted to identify prenatal features that could indicate the severity of postnatal left heart obstruction and hypoplasia. Fetuses were divided into groups according to whether postnatally the left heart was capable or incapable of supporting the systemic circulation in the presence of a patent aortic valve. Group 3 included fetuses with aortic atresia. At the initial examination, left heart dimensions were normal or reduced, with the most unusually small measurements in group 3. Three fetuses in group 2 and most in group 1 had normal initial left heart dimensions. Subsequent growth of left heart structures either paralleled normal growth or was reduced, the latter resulting in the development or progression of left heart hypoplasia. All left heart dimensions grew more slowly in group 2 and group 3 than in group 1. Other prenatal features observed only in groups 2 and 3 included reversed or bidirectional foramen ovale flow and retrograde distal arch flow. Initial mid trimester mitral valve and the growth rates of all left heart structures correlated strongly with postnatal left ventricular end diastolic dimension, there could be additional indicators of postnatal disease severity. In group 1, one fetus developed severe aortic stenosis late in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
