Ad Analysis Essay Example
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Ad Analysis Essay Example" can be a challenging endeavor
that requires a unique blend of analytical skills, critical thinking, and creative expression. The
difficulty arises from the need to dissect and analyze advertisements effectively, considering
various elements such as visual appeal, language use, and underlying messages.
Firstly, you must possess a keen eye for detail to scrutinize the visual components of the
advertisement. This involves evaluating the colors, imagery, layout, and design choices made by
the advertisers. Analyzing these visual elements requires an understanding of the psychology
behind color choices, the impact of specific images, and the overall visual appeal.
Additionally, delving into the language used in the advertisement demands a strong grasp of
rhetorical techniques and persuasive strategies. You must be able to identify and dissect the
linguistic nuances employed to influence the audience. This includes examining the use of
language to evoke emotions, create a sense of urgency, or establish credibility.
Furthermore, uncovering the underlying messages and subtext within the ad requires a deep
understanding of cultural contexts and societal norms. Deciphering the intended impact on the
target audience involves considering cultural nuances, historical references, and current trends.
Creating a coherent and compelling essay also necessitates effective organization and structure.
You must seamlessly integrate your analyses of visual and linguistic elements while maintaining
a logical flow that engages the reader. This requires careful planning and a thoughtful
arrangement of ideas to present a cohesive argument.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Ad Analysis Essay Example" demands a
multifaceted approach that combines visual interpretation, linguistic analysis, and cultural
understanding. The difficulty lies in synthesizing these elements into a cohesive and insightful
piece that not only dissects the advertisement but also communicates a nuanced understanding to
the reader.

Comparing Baz Luhrman s Movie Star-Crossed Lovers
Star Crossed Lovers
The story of Romeo and Juliet, also known as the star crossed lovers, has been
recreated countless times. In the case of Baz Luhrman s 1996 film version, we
follow these star crossed lovers, but in a modern day Verona with the original
script. Luhrman s film, which is rated at 3.5 out of 5, stars Leonardo DiCaprio as
Romeo and Claire Danes as Juliet. True to the story, they meet during a party held in
the Capulet Mansion, fall in love, and ultimately take their own lives rather than be
apart. As the movie starts, a fight breaks out between the boys of the House of
Capulet and those from the House of Montague. This then turns into a manhunt
looking for the leaders of the brawl; Tybalt, a Capulet, and Benvolio, a Montague.
Two Associated Systems
Two Associated Systems:
Two associated systems with the eye are the nervous and muscular systems. The
eye is a part of the nervous system because it is responsible for sending, receiving,
and processing information sent through the nerve impulses. The optic nerve is a
part of the eye and part of the central nervous system. As humans, we see something
through our eyes and react to it. If we see someone is going to hit us, we flinch. If
we are reading something, or seeing a picture, we see it and process it. By seeing
the world through our eyes, it allows us to react and process our surroundings. The
eyes are also associated with the muscular system; it has a special system of muscles
that allow the eyes to move. Movements of the ciliary muscles ... Show more content

If you are born with it, you will have to live with it. However, there is medical
research going on to try to cure color blindness. They are using gene therapy on
monkeys to get them to see color. Researchers hope that one day this will help
humans too. Gene therapy helps repair the damaged chromosome that causes color
blindness. If color blindness is caused by something else; like an injury to the eye, old
age, glaucoma, or certain medication side effects, you must treat the underlying cause
to fix the non genetic colorblindness.
Prevention of Diseases: To prevent glaucoma a person should first off know about
their family history. If glaucoma runs in the family, a person can be more likely to
develop it. Some other preventative measures are to go to the eye doctor regularly,
take prescribed eye drops, wear eye protection, and exercise safely. In order to
prevent corneal disease one must avoid smoke, wear protective eye gear, take
frequent breaks from computer use, eat food that promote eye health (leafy greens
and fish), and have the eyes screened regularly. By following these preventative
measures, not only can a person reduce the chance of getting this disease, but they
can also support good eye
Questions On Health Care Services
Final Exam
HCA 500
Fall 2014

Prof. Dr. Fevzi Akinci
Questions 1 (part 1):
Answer:
(A) Quality is one of three main sections on health care services. Quality has three
dimensions, they are structure, process, and outcome. To identify what are the
meaning of these three, it is very important to know what their definitions are as well
as examples for each one of them. Structure is the part that focuses of the facilities of
a medical clinic or hospital, how well their skills are, the level of the workers
education as well as training them, and the environment in the organization. For
example, there should be workers who have better education and experience in
higher level than other staff. If a hospital has an employer with PhD in Healthcare
Administration and another worker is a cardiologist, the first one should be the
manager according to his background in healthcare and his level of education while
the second worker should be the vice manager (Shi and Singh, 2015). Process is
the second part of quality in health care. It is the rolls and the policy that is pursued
by health organizations whether it is profit or non profit hospitals, dental clinics, and
any other organization that related to healthcare. There are many examples that
show how process affects the quality. The policy in following up patients as well as
the way a hospital uses its income to get tools or electronic devises. Also all the
decisions that were taken
Pvc Roofing Benefits
PVC Roofing | Commercial Roofing Fort Worth Polyvinyl Chloride roofing (PVC)
is a type of commercial roofing material that offers strength, energy efficiency with
UV resistance, chemical fire and wind resistance. PVC offers a watertight roof
with superior, heat welded seams. At the end of its long lifespan of a typical 20 years
or longer, PVC roofing, is recyclable. For building owners looking for a superior
product for flat or low slope roofs, consider the benefits of PVC for your
commercial roofing in Fort Worth. For facilities with concerns from acids,
chemicals, grease and oil, PVC is an excellent choice. PVC resists damage from
chemicals, and for facilities such as restaurants where animal fats are vented, PVC
roofing will not be affected, whereas they often damage asphalt based roofs.... Show

PVC has passed FM and UL fire testing. PVC is exceptionally strong, and in part, its
extreme strength is related to its heat welded seams that form a permanent, watertight
bond stronger than the membrane itself. In fact, the American Society of Testing and
Materials (ASTM) require roofing membranes to possess a minimum breaking
strength of 200 pounds per inch. PVC exceeds the standard with a minimum
breaking strength of 350 pounds per inch. In addition, PVC roofing is puncture and
tear resistant, and resists damage from foot traffic. It is available in wide sheets to
facilitate installation, and can be fully adhered or mechanically
Hurricane Katrina

Describe Hurricane Katrina Beginning in the 1950s, the United States have witnessed
two Category Five Storms and seven Category Four Storms naming Hurricane
Katrina as one of the most deadly Category Four hurricanes to hit the Gulf Coast. On
August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina dismantled several sections of the levee which
caused it to collapse. The storm then breeched the New Orleans levee system
allowing Lake Ponchartrain and the Mississippi River to flow in the heart of the city.
Furthermore, a tremendous amount of damages occurred throughout the coast of
Mississippi and Alabama. The state of Louisiana sustained most of the damages not
just from Hurricane ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Hurricane Katrina, ten months later, jobs plummeted to an average loss of
95,000. During the month of November 2005, employment had dropped to
105,300 below the previous year s figure. (Dolfman pg. 7) Furthermore, Hurricane
Karina in doubt did cause more damage to the economy than expected. The
hurricane affected 19% of U.S. oil production. (Dolfman pg. 7) Hurricane Katrina
completely destroyed 113 offshore oil and gas platforms, occurs damages to457
oil and gas pipelines, and spilled as much oil compared to the Exxon Valdez oil
disaster. This devastating event caused oil prices to increase $3 a barrel, and gas
prices sky rocketed to $5 a gallon. (Dolfman pg. 7) Lastly, Hurricane Katrina s
impact struck Louisiana s sugar industry, totaling an estimate of $500 million in
annual crop value. (Amadeo) There are two main concepts to prevent another
devastating event as Hurricane Katrina which are plan/prepare and thorough disaster
drills. First and foremost, we cannot prevent nor anticipate disasters; therefore, we
shall prepare and practice for crisis as such. When everyone knows which critical
functions are required for restoration then this could provide a tremendous amount of
confidence in life threatening situations. The very basic principles of planning we all
should be familiar with could save the lives of millions. Next, conducting thorough
disaster drills should always be
Multiple Sclerosis Essay
Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system. It most commonly
occurs in individuals between the ages of twenty and forty (1) and in higher
numbers of women than men (2). In Multiple Sclerosis (or MS ) a loss of the nerves
axon coating myelin prohibits the nerve axons from efficiently conducting action and
synaptic potentials. Scar tissue (called plaques or lesions) forms at the points where
demyelination occurs in the brain and spinal cord, hence the name Multiple Sclerosis
or many scars (3). The demyelination found in MS is thought to be caused by an
autoimmune process, in which the body s immune system attacks its own healthy
tissue (4). Other diseases thought to have an autoimmune basis are ... Show more

All of the activated T cells then release cytokines and adhesion molecules that
enable the T cells to adhere to and cross over the blood brain barrier, which
normally prohibits the flow of substances into the brain (8,9). The proteins in these
T cells bind to myelin fragments on microglial cells and undergo a secondary
activation (10), after which they multiply and release more cytokines, further
invading the nervous system (11) and inflaming and damaging the blood brain
barrier. The greatly weakened barrier becomes easily permeable, allowing
additional immune system cells, such as B cells and cytotoxic T cells to cross over
(12). Once through the barrier, B cells produce antibodies which bind to the
oligodendracytes (the cells of the CNS which create myelin) and the myelin itself.
Associated macrophages procede to destroy the myelin and may also damage the
oligodendracytes (13).
Myelin, found only in vertebrate nervous systems, is a fatty substance that surrounds
the axons and long dendrites of nerves in the brain and spinal cord tissue (4). By
lowering the rate at which the axonal membrane absorbs nerve impulses, myelin acts
as an insulator, allowing NS potentials to travel rapidly through the nervous system
and maintain communication between the brain and the rest of the body (2). This
communication between the brain and the rest of the CNS and peripheral nerves is a

Victorian society. Clothes stated who you were and how much money you had. Men

Ethical Issues Within The Field Of The Counseling
Profession
Introduction
In the middle of the journey of our life I came to myself within a dark wood where
the straight way was lost Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy
The Merriam Webster dictionary defines ethics as the rules of behavior based on
ideas of what is morally good and bad. According to Webster ethicsis also defined as
the principles of conduct governing an individual or group. Almost every profession
abides by certain rules and regulations that protects not only the professional but the
client or patient that the profession serves. These rules and regulations guide the
professional and try and prevent decisions that might be detrimental to both parties.
These rules and regulations are designed to protect the interests of the clients and
avoid malpractice lawsuits of certain degrees. This research paper will concentrate on
ethical issues in the field of the counseling profession. Even though Licensed
Professional Counselors go through rigorous training courses and ethics training
occurs at almost every counseling subject s introduction, there are still counseling
malpractice incidents. Most of the literature explains that most challenges
professional counselors face occur when their professional code of ethics conflict
with their own personal values. Most recently, legal cases such as Keeton vs.
Anderson Wiley, 2010 and Ward vs. Willbanks, 2010 have brought the counseling
profession into the limelight. Most LPC do not view the ACA code of ethics as simple
Delay Analysis Of The Critical Path
All of the delay analysis techniques in this case study depend on the analysis of the
critical path. These methods are categorized as the CPM techniques for
quantification. Methods like as planned vs. as built are simple and easy to
perform; it just follows the basic guidelines without referencing with the
supplementary data and any modification. On the other hand, methods like
window analysis, collapsed as built using complex, additive and subtractive
analysis give better and accurate results because they take into account any
changes during the project and therefore recommended for incorporating in delay
analysis. Not to mention, these methods need detailed project information
followed by rigorous analysis. The results could have been more specific if
detailed information in the form of daily reports, schedule of values and pay
application would have been available. By sticking to the basic number of delay in
activities, most of the results are observed to be close if not same. This research
corroborates the use of impacted as planned, collapsed as built, time impact
analysis and as planned but for, for the analysis of delays in day to day industry
scenarios because calculation of delays and attribution can be easily carried out with
these methods. With extensive information and rigorous analysis of the same, better
and more efficient results can be observed. Concurrent delays are the most
disputatious of the delays and are still unresolved. There is no specific

School Vouchers Essay
One of the most important topics in government today is the issue of school
vouchers. The two sides have remained deeply entrenched in their rival positions
concerning this issue. Some wonder about the practicality of using the vouchers,
while others wonder if it is defeating the purpose of the educational system.
Educational vouchers can be very beneficial for both the student and even the school
districtsinvolved in the program. Many people do not realize the benefits of this
program. Educational vouchers are something that many school districtsneed to
implement due to their advantages. The benefits of educational vouchers very much
outweigh the disadvantages.

The voucher program must not give parents any incentives to pick religious schools
over non religious schools. The program must provide parents genuine, practical,
legitimate secular options, including adequate traditional public schools, adequate
non traditional public schools such as community and magnet schools, and adequate
private non religious schools. The purpose of the program must be to advance secular
education, not to funnel state funds to religious schools (www.au.org).
Many people believe that there are many advantages to publicly funded vouchers. One
of these benefits is increased choice for schools. A tuition certificate, especially for
low income families, helps parents afford to choose a school suited to their child s
needs. This way, the child is guaranteed a decent education, no matter what his family
background is. Greater competition is another one of the program s advantages. As
families gain the ability to choose the school their child attends, schools may have to
improve to attract students. This would be very beneficial to the students in question.
Another advantage is targeted assistance. School vouchers can be aimed at a
particular struggling student population and offer assistance without changing the
entire public education system. This is very beneficial to the child because his
individual needs are attended to without reshaping the
Tutoring Halls Essay
Gradation also have became a key component of discussions about accountability in
higher education, said Bryan Cook and Terry Hartle. Students striving towards higher
education opportunities is the goal. However, our graduation rates where they re
suppose to be? According to CCPS Department of Communication, in 2012, the
county, state, and nation s graduation percentage was 53.63%, 72.5%, and 81%. Even
though the graduation quota at state and national level are distinctly larger than
Clayton County s, increasing the students interest in their learningenvironment and
creating tutoring halls will certainly aid in the progression to elevate graduation rate.
First and foremost, it s significant to embrace the students interest in their educational

The Importance Of Communication In The English
Language
Today, texting and social media are constantly used by millions of individuals. These
avenues for communication allow for constant connection available anywhere in the
world. With this convenience and increased conversation, the English language has
evolved tremendously. Users are accustomed to utilizing slang words and shortcuts to
get their point across. In addition, autocorrect or spell check are not always on or
available, so simple grammar mistakes can go unnoticed. These factors promote
informal articulation and have led to the devaluation of formal speech. With
technology continuing to progress and social media s growing presence, the future of
formal grammarin the English language is unclear despite its lasting importance today.
Although advances in technology have many benefits regarding human
interaction, grammar skills are still valued in society. For example, In Ontario at
Waterloo University, all students are required to take a grammar test and receive a
passing grade upon admission. A stunning thirty percent of students, on average,
do not pass this basic grammar test. This number has increased from twenty five
percent in just a few years. English professor Paul Budra voiced his concern about
the topic, saying the words a lot have become one word, for everyone, as far as I
can tell. Definitely is always spelled with an a definately . I don t know why (
Texting ). The reason for this poor grammar is clearly texting and social media. The
number of social media users has grown considerably, mostly consisting of teenagers
and young adults. This is significant because as these young people get adapted to
constant informal communication, in this case, their college education could be on
the line. This proves the importance of proper grammar and the fact that texting and
social media could hurt an individual s future.
Outside of the academic setting, Kyle Wiens, the CEO of iFixit, also feels the
need for the priority of correct grammar. Wiens gives every person who applies for a
position a mandatory grammar test. He goes by a zero tolerance rule, where if one
mistake is made, the person does not get called back for a follow up interview. He
understands this policy may seem harsh in some
Analysis Of The Movie The Cooler Essay
Introduction
In the 2003 movie The Cooler , the main character, Bernie, is an extremely unlucky
man whose job is to end the hot streaks of players at the Shangri La Casino. Due to
his contagious bad luck, he only needs to be present at the table to make the players
around him lose. The film takes place in Las Vegas, presumably in the mid 1990 s
meaning it takes place right around the fourth wave of Gambling, or the Triumph of
Casino Gaming (McGowan 2012). The opening credits show the strip with newer
buildings already erected, and matched the description given by Rothman, who
described Las Vegas as vibrant, bright and well developed by the beginning of
1990 (Rothman 2002). Shelly, the operations manager of the Shangri La Casino,
is struggling with the transition of the casino industry from mob to MBA. Larry, a
young Harvard graduate, proposes to renovate and modernize the casino to Shelly,
leaving him conflicted and nostalgic. Contrary to using typical casino income
strategies, Shelly relies on Bernie to cool off tables, thus generating revenue.
Bernie wants to leave Las Vegas as he is sick of working at the casino and working
for Shelly. He then falls in love with a coworker, Natalie resulting in his luck
flipping from terrible to terrific. Bernie s contagious good luck leads the gamblers in
the casino to collectively win $1 million in one day. Losing profits to Bernie s good
luck, Shelly threatens Natalie into not seeing Bernie anymore. At the same time, the

Can we follow the art of Courtly Love today?
De Amore, written by Andreas Capellanus is a treatise about the art of courtly love.
Douglas Kelly, in his article mentions that, This disconcerting treatise provides us
with the only true art of courtly love that we possess, but it also contains a very harsh
attack against love. The antithetical attitude towards love is all the more astonishing
because Andreas, although a churchman, devoted far more space to the instruction on
how to love and the praise of love than to the attack on it (Kelly, 1968, p.119).

Therefore, I believe that blind people are better at love than us because they know
the true value of being in love. A lot of times, we take love for granted and feel that
it s not hard to find. But we never understand how hard it is for some people,
specially the ones with impairments and how much one needs to struggle to have
someone in their lives who loves them unconditionally.
I completely disagree with the limitations of age to love. I think someone can fall
in love when they are fifty and also when they are fifteen. For example, my aunt
was unmarried till she was fifty two. She just never found someone who she loved
deeply but she continued to look for love. But at the age of fifty two, she met her
husband and they fell in love. So, I do not think that age should be a factor in love. I
think a person can fall in love at any time in their lives.
And as far as excess of passion is concerned, I feel that for some people, one woman
/man is never enough and they still might continue to love more than one person. I
think it is okay for a person to constantly shift lovers as long as they find someone
who they can love forever and then spend the rest of their life with that person.

differently. I disagree with him when he says that blind people cannot love. I know
of many blind people who are in love. I think they feel love more strongly. This is

Sea Otters Keystone Species
Introduction Sea otters, (Enhydra lutris), are considered a keystone species, and for
this reason, can be useful indicators of nearshore ecosystem health (Kreuder et al.
2003). With the implementation of the Marine Mammal Protection Act, southern sea
otter (Enhydra lutris nereis) populations within their California range rebounded
from post fur trade levels of approximately 50 60 in 1938, to more than 3000 today.
However, growth rates have been slower than expected for this population (Riedman
and Estes 1990). Definitive explanation for this is unclear, but contributing factors
may be that sea otters face a range of physiological and environmental challenges to
reproduce. Sea otters lack a layer of blubber, but compensate by having the thickest...

Sexually mature females can mate year around and are often either pregnant or caring
for young throughout their lifetime, and this creates ongoing energy demands that
can be energetically exhausting (Chinn et al. 2016). Sea otter mating behavior is
aggressive and can further inflict physiological and traumatic stress to females,
thereby reducing their foraging efficiency. Other factors such as infections, disease,
bio toxin ingestion and anthropogenic disturbance can also decrease fitness among
adult females and increase their vulnerability during reproduction (Chinn et al.
2016). As nearshore inhabitants, southern sea otters often live in close proximity to
areas of high human population density in California. These nearshore waterways
can be busy with recreational and commercial boating activity that can disturb sea
otter populations. Increased disturbance may cause increased stress to the species.
Sea otters are of great interest to people who wish to view them, and this is
sometimes done up close by boat or paddle craft. If this activity changes sea otter
behavior in any way, it not only violates the Marine Mammal Protection Act, it can
also have a negative impact on the species, especially adult females with pups.
Additionally, a familiar list of human impacts, such as climate change, overharvest of
marine resources, municipal runoff, and habitat degradation likely reduce fitness of
marine mammals directly and indirectly. Sea otters can be indicators of the overall
health of the nearshore ecosystem (Kreuder et al. 2003). The slow growth rate of the
southern sea otter population may be an expression of nearshore ecosystem
degradation in California resulting from the fur trade and explosion of human
population in

To what extent was the process of decolonization in Southeast Asia a violent struggle?
The process of decolonization in Southeast Asia was not totally a violent struggle due
to the divers natures of the process of decolonization and the fight for independence
in the various Southeast Asian nations. Furthermore, although the struggle for the
withdrawal of the colonial masters was lined with bloodshed and violence, there were
still moments in which peaceful negotiations managed to take place, rendering the
process of decolonization in Southeast Asia a largely violent struggle as one cannot

This thus shows the violence of the Colonial masters while the colonized nation was
fighting for independence. Moreover, the colonial master s use of force to control
and exert power further adds to the violence in the struggle for independence during
the process of decolonization. Finally, during the Spanish American war of 1898, the
US obtained Aguinaldo s cooperation in the battle again the Spanish fleet in Manila
Bay in return for Philippines independence. However, one the conflict ended and
Spain was defeated, the US annexed Philippines in the Treaty of Paris and this was
met with much unhappiness in the Philippines as the Philippines did not want to be
colonized yet again and wanted independence. As such, a war between the
revolutionaries and the Americans ensued, with the revolutionaries crushed by the
US forces and Aguinaldo arrested, asserting American authority and power over the
Philippines. As such, it may be seen that the colonial powers used violence to assert
and reinforce their power, thus making the entire process of decolonization extremely
violent due to the colonialists unwillingness to pull out of their colonies. Finally, it
may be said that the process of decolonization in Southeast Asia was not totally a
violent struggle as peaceful negotiations also managed to hasten the process of
decolonization in Southeast Asia and it helped the Southeast Asian nations attain
independence relatively peacefully.

A long time before this land was called the United States, the Cherokee people used
to live in this land in the valleys of rivers that drained the southern Appalachians.
These people made their homes, farmed their land, and buried their dead. Also these
people, who are now called Indians claimed larger lands. They would use these for
hunting deer and gathering material, to live off of. Later these lands were called
Virginia and Kentucky. As it is mentioned in the text, these people had their own
culture and own way of life. They had their own gender roles and religion; even
eating food had a different definition than the white man s culture. They had equality
between genders, and other members of the tribe had equal rights to talk. But... Show

Since neither the United States nor Native Americans would give up their goals, the
government of United States figured that to win Native Americans and get all they
wanted, government needed to spend lots of money and time. The United States tried
to figure out a peaceful way to communicate with Native Americans. The new
workable system fell to President George Washington s first Secretary of War Henry
Knox (p. 10).Henry Knox brought a new relation between Americans and Native
Americans. Knox and Washington believed that the uncivilized Indian life was based
on them not knowing better. On the other hand, their inferiority was cultural not
racial (p. 11). In 1791 they announced the Cherokees may be led to a greater civilized
society instead of remaining hunters. So women started to weave cloth, these
Cherokee planters became rich, and the first law established in 1808 was about
preventing the theft horses, also Cherokees invented a system for writing the
Cherokee language.
The Indian Removal policy started by Andrew Jackson and passed in 1830. In 1790s
the Georgia legislature planed a lottery system, that was system of land distribution
and qualifying citizens could register for a chance to win these lands. United States
could not force tribal leaders to sell their lands and many of leaders refused to sell
their lands. However, in 1827s Resolution of Georgia General Assembly declared that

The protection from viruses and worms is an incredible advantage Linux system has
over Windows. Linux possesses much greater processing power than Windows.
Linux Servers holds a 39.6 percent market share, while Windows makes up the

In comparing the cost and market share each system has its edge in different

Availability of Application software
Both Windows and Linux come in many flavors. All the flavors of Windows come
from Microsoft, the various distributions of Linux come from different companies

Windows has two main lines: Win9x, which consists of Windows 95, 98, 98SE, and
NT class, which consists of Windows NT, 2000 and XP. (Burgess, 2001) Windows
actually started, in the old days, with version 3.x which pre dated Windows 95 by
a few years. All the Linux distributions released around the same time frame will
use the same kernel. (Burgess, 2001) They differ in the add on software provided,

Windows come in desktop and server editions. Linux is customizable in a way that
Windows is not. There are many special purpose versions of Linux above and

Automobile Insurance Required By Law
Insurance is an arrangement by which a company or government agency provides
a guarantee of compensation for specified loss, damage, illness, or death in return
for payment of a premium. It is a type of risk management by which an individual
or agency acknowledges a situation where a loss is possible, and then measures the
probability and severity of that loss. Funds are gathered into a larger pool of funds,
and then paid out to individuals who experience the loss. This provides protection
from the burden of risks associated with such situations. Law mandates some types of
insurances while others are purchased at the discretion of individuals. I believe that
law should mandate the purchase of automobileinsurance, but homeowners insurance

million have inadequate health insurance. This means that nearly one third of
Americans face each day without knowing that, if and when they need it, medical
care may not be available to them and their families. The United States is one of
the only modernized countries left in the world without a universal healthcare
system for their citizens. In fact, out of the 34 member countries of the
Organization for Economic Co operation and Development (or OECD) only the
United States and Mexico do not have universal health care . And in 2014, the
Commonwealth Fund ranked the United States last in overall health care behind (in
order) the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Sweden, Australia, Germany, Netherlands,
New Zealand, Norway, France, and Canada . Another study conducted by the
World Health Organization ranked the US #37 out of 191 countries, between
Costa Rica and Slovenia in overall health care . The United States spent $8,508 per
person on health care in 2011 while the OECD member average was $3,322 per
person . One estimate shows that with a single payer health care program run under

Why Stalin Built The Iron Curtain Essays
Why Stalin Built The Iron Curtain
The Iron Curtain was the term used in the West to refer to the boundary line, which
divided Europe into to separate areas of political influence. This was set up from the
end of World War Two until the end of the Cold War. During this period, Eastern
Europe was under control and influence of the Soviet Union (USSR,) where as
Western Europe enjoyed freedom. It was a border set up by Joseph Stalin, the ruler
of the USSR in the years after the Second World War. The term the Iron Curtain, was
first introduced in Winston Churchill s long speech, an Iron curtain has descended

Roosevelt and Stalin had got on well but at Potsdam the new USA leader, President
Harry Truman had adopted a policy of get tough on Stalin and Russia.
Disagreements had taken place over a range of issues. The USSR did not keep its
promise about holding free elections in Eastern Europe. The USA also dropped the
atom bomb on Japan without consulting the USSR. Stalin was very irritated that
Truman did not tell the USSR about the atomic bomb until the last minute. This
created a belief in the USSR that the bombs had been dropped as a warning to the
Russians.
In 1946, Britain and the USA agreed to unite their zones in Germany for economic
purposes. But this idea was not taken well in the USSR. Not only were the Western
allies acting without the agreement of the Soviet Union, but also they were planning
to rebuild Germany, when Stalin wanted to keep it as weak as possible.
Stalin built the Iron Curtain; it was a thousand mile fence cutting off the communist
countries of Eastern Europe from the non communist West. The most famous
example of the Iron Curtain was the Berlin Wall. However that was not built until
1961. The Iron Curtain became the most important symbol in the Cold War. Between
945 and 1948, all the countries behind the Iron Curtain were brought under Soviet
control
Security Plan
Introduction
The purpose of this security plan is to elicit the potential threats to an organisation
physical and electronic information holdings. Organisations in general are starting to
take information security more sincerely due to the proliferation of mobile services,
VPN connections, terrorism and natural disasters. We must however acknowledge
that this very technology advancement is regarded as efficient but is also leading to
a higher level of security risks. These risks must be mitigated to ensure the
confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets. (The SANS Institute.

History Of Tobacco During The Colonial Period
Amanda Dai Mr. Howden Apush, Period 3 15 August 2015 Short Answers 2.(a).
Tobacco, as it relates to the early colonial period, was a fundamental cash crop for
the southern colonies. It was first discovered by Europeans after Columbus s first
return from the West Indies, and by the early 17th century, tobacco from the Spanish
colonies was widely used throughout Europe. John Rolfe, a Jamestown planter,
experimented and produced high quality tobacco which quickly spread throughout
the Chesapeake Bay. As there was great demand for tobacco in Europe, planters grew
tremendously wealthy and occasionally made the surrounding region prosperous.
However, the farmers often produced more than the demand which caused the price of

The economy of the southern colonies, particularly in the Chesapeake region,
reflected the rise and fall of the demand for tobacco. (c). Even though tobacco was
a crop, it helped shape the social structure of the southern colonies in the
seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The wealthy planters, who wanted to expand
their plantations required new cheap laborers. At first they used indentured
servants, but after they realized that the indentured servants were creating a large
source of potential social unrest, they moved towards using slaves. After the
1700s most tobacco plantations employed several dozen or more slaves. The slave
work force had not only an economic effect but also a social effect. They formed a
new social class, which made up the bottom of the social ladder, below the landless,
unemployed white men who were previously the lowest class. The slave society also
formed their own culture with their own language and kinship. The demand for
tobacco, led to the demand of labor, which shaped the social structure of the southern
colonies. 3. (a). In 1676, Nathaniel Bacon led a group on an unauthorized attack on
the natives which became a military defiance of the colonial government. Pre
rebellion there was a lot of political turmoil and unrest in the backcountry, which was
in part because the new western landowners, including Bacon, strongly disagreed
with the eastern tidewater leaders over many policies; mainly on
Comparison Of Attachment And Psychosocial Development
Theory
Not one theory is more important than the next, each theory holds importance and
are commonly used to describe supported evidence acquired throughout the
scientific method. A theory may possibly rationalize how one interacts with others,
human behaviors, or even how one may respond to a specific stimuli. Social work
practice models shows how social workers can carry out theories. The practice
models provides social workers with a blue print of how to be of assistance to others
based on supportive social work theory. (Simmons 2016) While a theory explains
why something happens, a practice model shows how to use a theory to create an
image. (Simmons 2016)
The two social work human behavior theories I chose to talk about today is the
Attachment theory and psychosocial development theory. I though these two theories
would be the best to talk about because, they has always been of interest to me.
Attachment theory is a state of having a strong emotional and physical attachment to
at least one primary caregiver. This theory also attempts to explain the changing
aspects long term and short term interaction between individuals. According to
Simmons Staff Psychosocial development theory is an eight stage theory of identity
and psychosocial developments articulated by Erik Erickson. Erickson believed that

The key concept of this theory is, that a strong emotional and physical attachment to
at least one primary caregiver is critical to personal development (Psychologist World

an attachment to another person who may not share that same attachment. In
children, behaviors like seeking closeness with attachment figure when unhappy or

The Spanish Inquisition During The Moors Essay
The Spanish Inquisition was a court system established in 1478 that tried and
sentenced heretics. Victims of these trials were predominantly conversos , Jewish
people that had converted to Catholicism. The Spanish Inquisition was not formally
abolished until 1834 by Queen Isabella II. Although the severity of the Inquisitionis
most likely exaggerated, it still remains a dark point in the history of the Catholic
Church. To understand the Spanish Inquisition, we must first understand the events
that preceded it s beginning. It all began with the conquer of the Iberian Peninsula by
the Muslim Moorsin 711. After the Moors had taken over much of the Iberian
Peninsula, the Reconquista began. The Reconquista (Spanish for Reconquest ) was a
period of about 750 years in which multiple Christian kingdoms expanded their
borders into the territory held by the Muslims on the Iberian Peninsula. The result of
The Reconquista was not the removal of the Moors from Spain, but instead the
combining of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim societies. The tension created by the
combination of societies soon boiled over and turned into violence. The main act of
violence occurring during this period that inadvertently contributed to the Spanish
Inquisition are the pogroms against the Jewish people. A pogrom is defined as a mob
action targeting any specific ethnic or religious group, characterized by killing and
destruction of their homes, businesses, and religious centers, often with the

Blacks in those zones. When looking at the data for the number of young males
being carded, young males of skin color are disproportionately documented. Black
males from the age of 15 24 are documented at a rate 13 times more than their actual
representation in the general population. Brown males are 7 times more and white
males are about 5 times more. From this data young black males are documented at
a rate 2.5 higher than young while males. In the data analyzed in both the MANIX

Argumentative Essay On Deaf Education
In the United States there is a separation that people give to a group of individuals
who seem to be out of the norm of what is considered living and being right in this
society. People are discriminative to people who are not considered to be the ideal
American people, and that is how deaf American are treated in this country.
Hearing people without any disabilities have a lot of say so in how a deaf person
should be educated in this country, and that is unfair because hearing people are
not in the same situation as a deaf person. As the only deaf school in America
Gallaudet University gives deaf people the ability to learn on the same plane field
as other deaf people and that makes it more suitable for the students to learn. This
University deserves a deaf president so they could have a relatable person in a high
up position over their school. Gallaudet students are outraged at the fact that a

This led me to have more respect for those who are deaf, because being treated
beneath someone else for how you were born is not a good way to be treated in this
community. I appreciated the unity the deaf people had to fight for what they
believed in, because it showed that no matter what people thought of them they still
stayed strong and made their voices heard. This reminded me of how protest for the
LGBT community raised their voices to make a change in their community to gain
their right to have legalized marriage, and now all states in the United States is
granted that privilege. Also, seeing the Black Lives Matter movement that is going
on to grant equality in this country for every minority has impacted me to believe that
if these movements worked with unity then maybe in the near future there can be
equality in this society at
Community Engagement In The Community
Engaging ourselves as well as engaging in the community with issues of our society
makes us open to different things. Community engagement is the process of working
with individuals and groups to achieve specific goals. It involves community
members with making decisions and taking action. This process of creating a
relationship with communitymembers in society that can maintain a mission with an
ultimate goal of making something better. It s an ongoing process with collaborative
work, cooperative dialogue, collective decisions and shared ownership. There are
many different activities that community engagementis involved with, which are
community service, internships, voter s registration, service learning and etc. The
primary focus of community engagement is the practice of moving communities
towards change.
The transformation from high school to college was very big for me. Only
because I was a loner and I didn t really get involved with groups nor did I have a
social life outside of playing basketball. When I came to college I made up in my
mind that I was going to change. Once I was introduced to the four pathways that
Methodist offered I decide to choose community engagement. Community
engagement fits me best because it gives me a chance to interact with people and
also voices my opinion. I wanted to work on enhancing this aspect because I m a
very shy person with a lot to say. The program would also give me some good
information to learn from and gain knowledge.

Developing a meaningful purpose in life, is a very strong driving force that can often
be underestimated. Without a purpose, living can easily become mere existence.

Hosokawa s relationship with Roxanne Coss, may have been the primary factor in
his transformation throughout the novel; considering the fact that in the beginning
of the novel his passion lies in opera. Roxanne is the physical embodiment of opera
in the eyes of Mr. Hosokawa and many others, and being able to listen to Roxanne
Coss perform every day served as a catalyst in the transformation that changed his
overall perspective on life.
Gen Watanabe is another characterthat undergoes a transformation through a

who works for Mr. Hosokawa, yet he initially finds it difficult to express his thoughts

Gen, in his genius for languages, was often at a loss for what to say when left with
only his own words. If Mr. Hosokawa had still been sitting there he might have said

was only capable of motion when someone else turned the key. He was very good
at working and he was very good at being by himself. Sitting alone in his apartment
with books and tapes, he would pick up languages [...] but it was hardly the same

John Brown And The Civil War
Each of the persons ,John Brown, Stephen Douglas, and Abraham Lincoln, with
their own niche roles contributed greatly to the coming and the inevitability of the
Civil War. Lincoln being chief among these people in respects to importance to the
coming of the Civil War was a huge catalyst to the civil war through his election to
presidency without the votes of a single southern state, and his debates with
Stephen Douglas. Douglas was another large part of the fruition of the Civil War
through his Compromise of 1850, and the Douglas Lincoln debates which lead to
Lincoln winning the election. John Brown while not contributing to the coming of
the war as Lincoln or Douglas still played his role by becoming a martyr for the
Republican Abolitionist cause. Each person while contributing unique aspects to
the onslaught that was the Civil War had one thing in common, they all progressed
it s coming heavily making the Civil War almost inevitable. As far as the coming of
the Civil War is concerned Lincoln was an integral part. The first time Lincoln was
widely recognized on a national level was during Lincoln Douglas debates, a series
of debates in which Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas debated slavery while
running for the position of senator in Illinois. Douglas argued to the point of popular
sovereignty a system that overturned the Missouri Compromise by allowing states,
regardless of their position relative to the Missouri Compromise Line, to be free or

It is the minimum return a company needs to earn in order to satisfy its investor base
(as weighted for the amount of debt vs. equity in the target/capital structure), which is
what the company must pay investors to raise new financing to support new projects
or ventures. WACC is particularly useful here because Yeats has no debt, thus, it is an
equity financed company. In the case of Yeats, the company must have capital to
continue to develop and market its new Widening Gyre Program.
The formula for WACC = Re (E/V) + Rd (D/V)(1 t)
However, because Yeats does not have debt, the second half of this formula, Rd(D
/V)(1 t) is not necessary. Being that Yeats has zero debt, the value of its equity is in
full, which represents its Enterprise Value. Tax (t) is determined in the case as 40%
or .40 (p. 5).
We must then calculate the CAPM for the cost of equity (see Excel sheet for details):
Re = Rf + Beta (Rm Rf)
Re = Required Return on Equity
Rf = Risk Free Rate = 5.98 (p. 16)
Beta = Measure of Risk relative to the general market (volatility) = 1.5 (p. 5)
Rm Rf = Equity Market Risk Premium (EMRP) = 5.5 (p. 16)
Rm = Market Risk
Rf = Risk Free Assets (U.S. treasury security)
With Beta at 1, the stock price changes in precise tandem with the market, but with
Yeat s beta at 1.5, it is more risky than a group of peer stocks.
Thus,
Re = Rf + Beta (Rm Rf)
Re = 5.98 + 1.5 x 5.5
Re = 14.23%, the cost of equity at for Yeats
Then calculate
WACC = Re
My Father s Story with Cancer
Losing a chance that will make an impact on your life hurts; especially when it was
a favor that someone had asked of you. My dad used to always ask me to record his
story of coming to America the story of all his struggles and accomplishments.
Planning to do so later in the future, I didn t think about the time I had left. I
thought I would have all the time in the world to do so, and to be able to hear it
through his voice. You don t know how wrong I was to think so.
On September 27, 2013, I received a text message from my older sister that our
dad only had two to three weeks left with us. After battling prostate cancer for
about three years going in and out of the hospitals, back and forth from the Mayo
Clinic in Rochester, and having two catheters the cancer spread into my dad s liver
and lungs. That day, we were picked up after school and went straight to the St. John
s hospital in Maplewood. Learning that day about the short time he had left, everyone
was supposed to spend as much time as we could with him. Therefore, my family
registered him for Hospice, so that he can stay home and still get all the help he
needed, whenever he needed it. Not being able to do so because of school, we had to
leave his side.
At school, I was aware that my actions were not exhibiting concern for my dad. I
would sit about to myself, Am I having too much fun while my dad is at home
suffering? Will going to my schools events be too disrespectful towards my family?

Wireless LANs through Wired Equivalent Privacy protocol
Introduction:
Wireless networks are less secure when compared to wired networks. Wired
networks such as Ethernet are physically connected, where as in wireless networks
are connected through wireless radio waves without physical connection between
them. As a result, a security breach is easier in wireless networks when compared
to wired networks. In the current world, electronic gadgets like cell phones, ipads
and laptops are interconnected with other devices. In wireless device, a network
radio receiver is able to hear the conversations on a wireless channel as per its range.
Therefore it is easier to breach the conversations that are occurring in wireless
networks. The data that is transferred on the internet should be reliable and secure

Stockhausen Life and Works
Composer Karlheinz Stockhausen was born August 22, 1928 in the small town of
Mödrath located just west of Cologne Germany. He was the first child of three
born to Simon and Gertrud Stockhausen. Early in his life, the Stockhausen family
struggled financially. Germany was in a low point of stability after WWI and most
people had trouble making ends meet. Simon Stockhausen, a teacher at the time, was
forced to move from one temporary post to another on average twice a year.
Unfortunately in 1932 when he was four years old, Stockhausen s mother Gertrud
was committed into a sanatorium. This was likely due to the depression she
encountered associated with the instability, poverty, and having three children so
close to one another. In 1935 Shortly after his wife became ill, Simon Stockhausen
was promoted to head teacher at a small village school located in Altenburg. The
newly formed Third Reich led by Adolf Hitler used him in this position to influence
the local community by spreading propaganda and organizing fundraisers for the new
movement. Karlheinz Stockhausenshowed an early interest in musicand the family
piano. The family also owned a radio that young Stockhausen listened to and
attempted to imitate. When he was seven, Karlheinz was enrolled in school and
began his first piano lessons with the organist of the local Protestant church. He
practiced often and learned to play back music he heard on the radio.
In 1939 Karlheinz was refused admission to an elite high

Immorality was mostly neglect of the rule of celibacy, however immorality was not
entirely sexual transgressions, there was also clerical drunkenness, gambling, and
indulgence in fancy dress. Ignorance was the lack of education, as many priests
were barely able to read or write. Finally, in regard to pluralism or absenteeism,
many clerics had benefices, but rarely ever visited them, let alone performed the
religious duties the offices entailed, this led to the attracton of the most negative
attention. Catholics believed they would gain salvation by both faith and good
works. Luther disagreed with the percepts of Catholic salvation by saying that
salvation comes by faith alone. Luther argued that women and men are saved by the
arbitrary decision of God, heedless of good works or the sacraments. Luther preached
that God, not people, established salvation. The major ways in which Luther
challenged the Catholic Church included different ideas of salvation, where religious
authority resides, what the church was, and what the highest form of Christian life
was. Where Catholics believed salvation was achieved by both faith and good works,
Luther believed it was gained through only faith. Christian doctrine had long
maintained that

The eye is a part of the nervous system because it is responsible for sending, receiving, and processing information sent through the nerve impulses. The optic nerve is a part of the eye and part of the central nervous system. As humans, we see something through our eyes and react to it. If we see someone is going to hit us, we flinch. If we are reading something, or seeing a picture, we see it and process it. By seeing the world through our eyes, it allows us to react and process our surroundings. Questions On Health Care Services Final Exam HCA 500 Fall 2014 King s College Altuwaijri, Abdulaziz Prof. Dr. Fevzi Akinci Questions 1 (part 1): Answer: (A) Quality is one of three main sections on health care services. Quality has three dimensions, they are structure, process, and outcome. To identify what are the meaning of these three, it is very important to know what their definitions are as well as examples for each one of them. Structure is the part that focuses of the facilities of a medical clinic or hospital, how well their skills are, the level of the workers education as well as training them, and the environment in the organization. For example, there should be workers who have better education and experience in higher level than other staff. If a hospital has an employer with PhD in Healthcare Administration and another worker is a cardiologist, the first one should be the manager according to his background in healthcare and his level of education while the second worker should be the vice manager (Shi and Singh, 2015). Process is the second part of quality in health care. It is the rolls and the policy that is pursued by health organizations whether it is profit or non profit hospitals, dental clinics, and any other organization that related to healthcare. There are many examples that show how process affects the quality. The policy in following up patients as well as the way a hospital uses its income to get tools or electronic devises. • 7. Multiple Sclerosis Essay Multiple Sclerosis Multiple sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system. It most commonly occurs in individuals between the ages of twenty and forty (1) and in higher numbers of women than men (2). In Multiple Sclerosis (or MS ) a loss of the nerves axon coating myelin prohibits the nerve axons from efficiently conducting action and synaptic potentials. Scar tissue (called plaques or lesions) forms at the points where demyelination occurs in the brain and spinal cord, hence the name Multiple Sclerosis or many scars (3). The demyelination found in MS is thought to be caused by an autoimmune process, in which the body s immune system attacks its own healthy tissue (4). Other diseases thought to have an autoimmune basis are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All of the activated T cells then release cytokines and adhesion molecules that enable the T cells to adhere to and cross over the blood brain barrier, which normally prohibits the flow of substances into the brain (8,9). The proteins in these T cells bind to myelin fragments on microglial cells and undergo a secondary activation (10), after which they multiply and release more cytokines, further invading the nervous system (11) and inflaming and damaging the blood brain barrier. The greatly weakened barrier becomes easily permeable, allowing additional immune system cells, such as B cells and cytotoxic T cells to cross over (12). Once through the barrier, B cells produce antibodies which bind to the oligodendracytes (the cells of the CNS which create myelin) and the myelin itself. Associated macrophages procede to destroy the myelin and may also damage the oligodendracytes (13). Myelin, found only in vertebrate nervous systems, is a fatty substance that surrounds the axons and long dendrites of nerves in the brain and spinal cord tissue (4). By lowering the rate at which the axonal membrane absorbs nerve impulses, myelin acts as an insulator, allowing NS potentials to travel rapidly through the nervous system and maintain communication between the brain and the rest of the body (2). This communication between the brain and the rest of the CNS and peripheral nerves is a central

On the other hand, methods like window analysis, collapsed as built using complex, additive and subtractive analysis give better and accurate results because they take into account any changes during the project and therefore recommended for incorporating in delay analysis. Not to mention, these methods need detailed project information followed by rigorous analysis. The results could have been more specific if detailed information in the form of daily reports, schedule of values and pay application would have been available. By sticking to the basic number of delay in activities, most of the results are observed to be close if not same. • 14. The Importance Of Communication In The English Language Today, texting and social media are constantly used by millions of individuals. These avenues for communication allow for constant connection available anywhere in the world. With this convenience and increased conversation, the English language has evolved tremendously. Users are accustomed to utilizing slang words and shortcuts to get their point across. In addition, autocorrect or spell check are not always on or available, so simple grammar mistakes can go unnoticed. These factors promote informal articulation and have led to the devaluation of formal speech. With technology continuing to progress and social media s growing presence, the future of formal grammarin the English language is unclear despite its lasting importance today. Although advances in technology have many benefits regarding human interaction, grammar skills are still valued in society. For example, In Ontario at Waterloo University, all students are required to take a grammar test and receive a passing grade upon admission. A stunning thirty percent of students, on average, do not pass this basic grammar test. This number has increased from twenty five percent in just a few years. English professor Paul Budra voiced his concern about the topic, saying the words a lot have become one word, for everyone, as far as I can tell. Definitely is always spelled with an a definately . I don t know why ( Texting ). The reason for this poor grammar is clearly texting and social media. The number of social media users has grown considerably, mostly consisting of teenagers and young adults. This is significant because as these young people get adapted to constant informal communication, in this case, their college education could be on the line. This proves the importance of proper grammar and the fact that texting and social media could hurt an individual s future. Outside of the academic setting, Kyle Wiens, the CEO of iFixit, also feels the need for the priority of correct grammar. Wiens gives every person who applies for a position a mandatory grammar test. He goes by a zero tolerance rule, where if one mistake is made, the person does not get called back for a follow up interview. He understands this policy may seem harsh in some

However, growth rates have been slower than expected for this population (Riedman and Estes 1990). Sexually mature females can mate year around and are often either pregnant or caring for young throughout their lifetime, and this creates ongoing energy demands that can be energetically exhausting (Chinn et al. 2016). Sea otter mating behavior is aggressive and can further inflict physiological and traumatic stress to females, thereby reducing their foraging efficiency. Other factors such as infections, disease, bio toxin ingestion and anthropogenic disturbance can also decrease fitness among adult females and increase their vulnerability during reproduction (Chinn et al. 2016). As nearshore inhabitants, southern sea otters often live in close proximity to areas of high human population density in California. These nearshore waterways can be busy with recreational and commercial boating activity that can disturb sea otter populations. Increased disturbance may cause increased stress to the species. Sea otters are of great interest to people who wish to view them, and this is sometimes done up close by boat or paddle craft. If this activity changes sea otter behavior in any way, it not only violates the Marine Mammal Protection Act, it can also have a negative impact on the species, especially adult females with pups. Additionally, a familiar list of human impacts, such as climate change, overharvest of marine resources, municipal runoff, and habitat degradation likely reduce fitness of marine mammals directly and indirectly. Sea otters can be indicators of the overall health of the nearshore ecosystem (Kreuder et al. 2003). The slow growth rate of the southern sea otter population may be an expression of nearshore ecosystem degradation in California resulting from the fur trade and explosion of human population in

Automobile Insurance Required By Law Insurance is an arrangement by which a company or government agency provides a guarantee of compensation for specified loss, damage, illness, or death in return for payment of a premium. It is a type of risk management by which an individual or agency acknowledges a situation where a loss is possible, and then measures the probability and severity of that loss. Funds are gathered into a larger pool of funds, and then paid out to individuals who experience the loss. This provides protection from the burden of risks associated with such situations. Roosevelt and Stalin had got on well but at Potsdam the new USA leader, President Harry Truman had adopted a policy of get tough on Stalin and Russia. Disagreements had taken place over a range of issues. The USSR did not keep its promise about holding free elections in Eastern Europe. The USA also dropped the atom bomb on Japan without consulting the USSR. Stalin was very irritated that Truman did not tell the USSR about the atomic bomb until the last minute. This created a belief in the USSR that the bombs had been dropped as a warning to the Russians. In 1946, Britain and the USA agreed to unite their zones in Germany for economic purposes. But this idea was not taken well in the USSR. Not only were the Western allies acting without the agreement of the Soviet Union, but also they were planning to rebuild Germany, when Stalin wanted to keep it as weak as possible. Stalin built the Iron Curtain; it was a thousand mile fence cutting off the communist countries of Eastern Europe from the non communist West. The economy of the southern colonies, particularly in the Chesapeake region, reflected the rise and fall of the demand for tobacco. (c). Even though tobacco was a crop, it helped shape the social structure of the southern colonies in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The wealthy planters, who wanted to expand their plantations required new cheap laborers. At first they used indentured servants, but after they realized that the indentured servants were creating a large source of potential social unrest, they moved towards using slaves. After the 1700s most tobacco plantations employed several dozen or more slaves. The slave work force had not only an economic effect but also a social effect. They formed a new social class, which made up the bottom of the social ladder, below the landless, unemployed white men who were previously the lowest class. The slave society also formed their own culture with their own language and kinship. The demand for tobacco, led to the demand of labor, which shaped the social structure of the southern colonies. 3. • 27. The Spanish Inquisition During The Moors Essay The Spanish Inquisition was a court system established in 1478 that tried and sentenced heretics. Victims of these trials were predominantly conversos , Jewish people that had converted to Catholicism. The Spanish Inquisition was not formally abolished until 1834 by Queen Isabella II. Although the severity of the Inquisitionis most likely exaggerated, it still remains a dark point in the history of the Catholic Church. To understand the Spanish Inquisition, we must first understand the events that preceded it s beginning. It all began with the conquer of the Iberian Peninsula by the Muslim Moorsin 711. After the Moors had taken over much of the Iberian Peninsula, the Reconquista began. The Reconquista (Spanish for Reconquest ) was a period of about 750 years in which multiple Christian kingdoms expanded their borders into the territory held by the Muslims on the Iberian Peninsula. The result of The Reconquista was not the removal of the Moors from Spain, but instead the combining of Jewish, Christian, and Muslim societies. The tension created by the combination of societies soon boiled over and turned into violence. The main act of violence occurring during this period that inadvertently contributed to the Spanish Inquisition are the pogroms against the Jewish people. A pogrom is defined as a mob action targeting any specific ethnic or religious group, characterized by killing and destruction of their homes, businesses, and religious centers, often with the

WACC is particularly useful here because Yeats has no debt, thus, it is an equity financed company. In the case of Yeats, the company must have capital to continue to develop and market its new Widening Gyre Program. The formula for WACC = Re (E/V) + Rd (D/V)(1 t) However, because Yeats does not have debt, the second half of this formula, Rd(D /V)(1 t) is not necessary. Wired networks such as Ethernet are physically connected, where as in wireless networks are connected through wireless radio waves without physical connection between them. As a result, a security breach is easier in wireless networks when compared to wired networks. In the current world, electronic gadgets like cell phones, ipads and laptops are interconnected with other devices.
