The Kneeling Statue Of Hatshepsut
The Kneeling Statue of Hatshepsut is from the Eighteenth Dynasty of Ancient Egypt, located in Deir
el Bahri, and is dated around 1473 1478 BCE. This statue is 8 6 tall and is completely made of red
granite. The statue shows Hatshepsut kneeling on both knees with each hand holding a sphere.
However, Hatshepsut is known as a female ruler, but this statue and including other statues, she is
represented as a male ruler. Upon closer inspection, her shoulders are broad, she is wearing a linen
headdress, and a fake beard which is typical for a male ruler to wear. Also, the inscription, or
hieroglyph, use a feminine form to identify her as a female ruler because there s was no word for king.
Adapting to the visual forms of kingship, the Kneeling Statue of Hatshepsut can demonstrate the
cultural, religious, and political environment of Ancient Egypt. ... Show more content on

Justice and Love in Hugo s Les Misérables
The nineteenth century was an era distinguished by invention, progress, and social change. Countries
were busy healing from previous wars while fighting ongoing battles at the same time. Nationalism
and militarism became extremely evident around the world as advances in science and exploration
propelled new discoveries. Significant movements, such as Romanticism and the Industrial
Revolution, stemmed in Europe and swept the masses, spreading widely across nations. The rapid
growth of the British Empire, alongside the calamitous fall of the French Empire, marked the
beginning of the eventful nineteenth century. Years after the French Revolution, the French Empire
was defeated in the Napoleonic wars, resulting in a broken union full of ... Show more content on

Under the Declaration of Rights, the foreman s action of discriminating Valjean would be legally
protected because distinction based on virtue is permitted. However, the Declaration completely
disregards the fact that Valjean was imprisoned for something he did in a hopeless situation. The
society turned innocent people into hardened criminals because of their status. In Les Misérables,
Hugo focuses on society s mistreatment of Valjean in order to show how society in nineteenth century
France was defective because it took no notice of the morality of inevitable crime. By incorporating an
accurate historical figure into his novel, Hugo highlights the idea that even in miserable conditions,
life can be changed through perseverance and effort. In Les Misérables, Jean Valjean escapes his dark
criminal past and uses his knowledge of industry to start a successful factory. Years later, he becomes
the mayor and is rumored to have immense sums deposited with Laffitte, with the special condition
that they were always at his immediate command (Hugo 55). Hugo places Jacques Laffitte, a real
banker from French history, into his novel to interact with the transformed Valjean. Laffitte, a
successful banker and politician, rose

Osf St. Joseph Medical Center Case Summary
At approximately 1140 hours there was a major power failure at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center. This
follows a brief power loss at roughly 0230 hours where power failed for upwards of 8 seconds.
However, electrical power had been restored before the generator power could assume power
capabilities. Initially, at 1140 hours, the power failed and came back on briefly which then electrical
power had been lost all together. All Engineering Department Mission Partners immediately
responded to the Power Plant in an attempt to rectify the failure. The Emergency Management
Coordinator responded to the main floor of the medical center and met up with hospital
administration. While en route to the main level, it had been discovered that two way radio traffic was
impossible. The inoperability was due to the radio repeater not transmitting because of the ... Show

Another functionality of the StabCam is its ability to automatically track a moving subject. This
further prevents the camera from capturing shaky GoPro footage. As with some drone cameras, it also
has a Follow Me setting. In this mode, the StabCam can determine the location of a moving person by
locking onto the subject s smartphone and utilizing the GPS. This will consequently cause the camera
to pan and tilt in order to keep the subject centered within the frame.

School Psychology Personal Statement
It takes a village to raise a child. I never quite understood that saying when I was growing up, but my
experiences teaching and working in school settings have showed me how true it really is. Obtaining a
degree in school psychology will allow me to give the support that students, families and educators
need to ensure that every student will thrive.
I have always envisioned myself working with children and their families, but my experiences in
college and beyond are what have shaped my enthusiasm for school psychology. At the University of
Cincinnati I focused my education on families and children. Although my overall GPA falls just below
the mean for your program, as my letters of recommendation indicate, I believe that my major GPA
(3.89) and my experiences outside the classroom, give a better indication of my preparedness for
graduate school. As a teaching assistant for a Childhood and Adolescence Development course for
three semesters, I enjoyed the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of the crucial part
development plays in all aspects of a child s life, as well as the many factors that shape a child s
development.
To learn about families from a new perspective, I had the opportunity to work as a research assistant in

The Birth Of Event Study Method
The birth of Event study method is frequently traced back to 1969, the first time Fama, Fisher, Jensen
and Roll (1969, hereafter FFJR) introduced how event study method examines the impact of stock
split on share price. Nowadays, the methods of payment on Mergers and Acquisitions can be analyzed
by event study. Asquith(1983) argue that the previous studies, Dodd(1980) and Langetieg (1978), did
not examine the possible changes in value and the market s complete reaction during the merger
process, and did not resolved the question whether the target firm s stockholders gain averagely from
merger. He point out that Langetieg (1978) just focus on the merger date as the event date, thus ignore

excess returns for the successful target firms and significantly negative excess returns for the

the merger date for the successful target firms. But for the unsuccessful target firms, the cumulative
excess return increases at the announcement date but decrease after that and keep decreasing until the

stockholders of the successful bidding firms earn little from the merger bid. 1. Motivation About the

Establishing Unity Roundtable With An Updated Version Of...
We started our semester with the main goal of establishing UNITY Roundtable with an updated
version of constitutions and bylaws. After a couple of weeks of receiving feedback from the UNITY
Roundtable reps we settled and voted on the latest version of them. After that was completed,
Deshauna and I with the help of the reps we worked to recruit a SFAC Liaison and after several weeks
we elected Vincent Wan. He will oversee the allocation of next year budgets and make sure the
process and decisions is equitable and inclusive of multicultural organizations.
Through the semester, we came up with different long term goals such as creating a proposal for the
renovation of the three multicultural houses. To complete the research and plan we formed a
workgroup that will be chaired by Senator Carter. This working group is formed by three UNITY
Roundtable members and three Student Senators. They will research best practices from other
institutions and create a proposal that UNITY will vote on and present to the board of Trustees during
their spring gathering.
This semester was hard for students from marginalized communities, hence, most of UNITY s

by organizing a meeting for student to color. During this meeting we address the hate crime, self care,
and action steps. We invited Scott Law, Tony Tyler, and Provost Sue Madison to speak with us about

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Energy
Electricity would undoubtedly be the most important discovery in the history of mankind. Its capacity
to have great effects on various human activities and its influence on human technology and cultures
make this the best discovery. Electricity is a fundamental form of energy observable in positive and
negative forms that occurs naturally or is produced and that is expressed in terms of the movement and
interaction of electrons (Merriam Webster).
The discovery of electricity dates back to about 600 BC, during the times of Ancient Greeks. Static
electricity was first discovered when the people during that era rubbed fur on amber to create energy.
There are common misunderstandings of when electricity was first discovered. People believe that ...

Comparing a Dou Vessel to a Zun Vessel Essay
When comparing two relatively similar artistic objects from the same culture, there will invariably be
similarities and differences between the two pieces. This is the case when analyzing a Dou Vessel
from late 5th to early 4th century BCE China as well as a Zun Vessel from 13th century BCE. Both
objects have similar purposes as well as certain aspects of design. However, they differ on other points
of design and are also dramatically different in size. The parallels and distinctions of the two pieces
are reflective of the cultural disparities and different methods of manufacturing during the two eras of
creation. This particular Zun vessel was introduced during the Shang dynasties rule over China. Its
production took place in close ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Zun has intricate images woven through the entire object, including a variety of animal motifs.
This can be interpreted as steps towards bold assertive statements and even baroque ornamentation.
(Thorp, p. 85) There are multiple dragons inscribed on the image, a feature shared with the Dou
Vessel. The use of animals signifies an understanding of the animal form as well as infusing life and
excitement into the pieces. (Lee, p. 47) Both items also benefit from the implementation inlays.
However, the inlay usage on the Zun vessel is black pigment. This is in stark contrast to the gold
pigment inlay used in the Dou Vessel. The gold inlay in the Dou vessel, which has a leaf like
decoration, symbolizes a new design characteristic that was not popular during the creation of the Zun
vessel. (Lee, p. 48) In addition to the distinctions in uses of inlay, the two objects also differ greatly in
size, possibly a reflection of the cultural differences. The Zun vessel has features that almost double
that of the Dou vessel in terms of diameter and height. Unlike the Dou vessel, which contains handles,
the Zun vessels ring base design compels one to carry the object on a shoulder. (Thorp, p. 73) This
could in part be because during the Shang period, many of these pieces like the Zun were used for cult
rituals and activities. (Thorp, p. 61) Drinking was a significant facet of some of these Shang offerings,
which also included offerings in

Synthesis and Reflection on LEAD6163
This author has been involved in teaching and leadership activities as a member of the Port Orange
Church of the Nazarene (PONAZ), a small church in eastern Florida. Florida Department of State,
Division of Corporations (2017) stated that PONAZ was founded in 1985, with the current
congregation at about 110 attendees for Sunday morning worship. Other than Sunday worship,
programs provided by PONAZ include a preschool, Sunday School, children and youth activities,
recovery groups, and community outreach events. Recently, with the unexpected death of the long
time superintendent of church ministries, a need for the appointment of a strong leader was created.
Desired Leader Characteristics
The ideal leader of PONAZ church ministries would be able to exhibit concern for others as a
necessary soft skill found to be at the top of the list of admired qualities by Marques (2013). Marques
(2013) noted other important soft skills which included honesty, being true to values and beliefs,
humility and having the ability to lead by example. Each of these characteristics would be necessary
for a leader at PONAZ.
Drucker (2005) discussed leaders with values that fit with the organization. At PONAZ, as a Christian
organization, leaders must demonstrate characteristics that identify them as Christ followers. Evans
(1996) discussed leaders needing to walk the talk (p.2). Some of the Christ like characteristics include

Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves And Robin Hood Comparison
As seen in several movie remakes of timeless classics, things change. Sometimes we see characters,
scenes, or endings change for the better, though it s no secret that the change usually just ruins the
story all together. In Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Robin Hood sets off on a journey to defeat the
Sheriff of Nottingham. But, did the writers of the movie stay true to his legend or did they completely
change him for the better of a politically correct movie. In the film adaptation, Robin Hood Prince of
Thieves, The director chose to displace scenes, adapting each character to speak perfect english, and
chose to spare some of the bloody details making Robin Hood the true hero of the story. Though this
made the film enjoyable for audiences, the director failed to stay true to the Classic Robin Hood Tale.

Pen Densham, the writer of the script, chose to both add and take away vital scenes of the story. In an

The Transformational Leadership Model Style
Introduction
Sir Richard Charles Nicholas Branson, an English businessman and investor, is best known as the
founder of Virgin Group. Branson is a high school dropout turned billionaire. The Virgin brand really
started to take off in the 1980 s when he started Virgin Atlantic, which then grew to Virgin Records.
Forbes listed Branson at an estimated new worth of $5 billion (Forbes.com, 2015). Virgin has grown
into different sectors ranging from music to travel. There is currently more than 100 different Virgin
companies across the world. The company has roughly 60,000 employees in over 50 different
countries.
Leadership Style and Impact
Leadership is the ability to influence people toward the attainment of goals. A people activity, distinct
from administrative paper shuffling or problem solving activities (Daft, 2011). Richard Branson most
represents the transformational leadership model style. Transformational leaders have a special ability
to bring out innovation and change by recognizing followers needs and concerns, providing meaning,
challenging people to look at old problems in new was, and acting as role models for the new values
and behaviors (Daft, 2011). Branson sees himself as a rule breaker because he never learned the rules
in the first place. To change the game is at the heart of what Virgin stands for, so the company culture
has always been: Don t sweat it: rules were meant to be broken (Schawbel, 2014). Transformational
leaders work to not only have

Essay on The Hacker Community
Hackers are typically defined as individuals that gain unauthorized access to another person s
computer. Although that definition is rather specific it can be broadened to include other illegal
activities such as phishing , which can be done on its own and may be separate from hacking. The
hacker community is what is contended to be an imagined community meaning they occupy no
singular geographic location, like members of a community like Rosedale, nor have they have any set
guidelines for becoming a computer hacker. The hacker community is highly fluid, with members
leaving and others taking their places all the time. Most hackers tend to either form close connections

Hackers are given more of a free pass than other deviant communities are from society because of the
high level anonymity in the community, their motivations are claimed to be honourable, and the high
amount permeability of computer culture into the mainstream normalizes their behaviour.
Anonymity and Secrecy
Anonymity is a defining characteristic of the internet, but, the understanding of the word is different
for the hacker community than it is for the general public, as it if often closely tied to the notion of
secrecy. Even though these two words are so closely related they remain distinct from one another. For
example, one can choose never to identify themselves, instead opting to remain totally anonymous in
the truest sense of the word. Fox news did a report on such a group actually named Anonymous where
none of the hackers use screen handles, instead loosely organizing themselves on a message board.
However it would seem that the majority of hackers choose to identify themselves via a handle. The
word handle basically refers to what most would think of as a screen name or user name which allows
the hacker to be easily indentified by members of the community. Furthermore, the use of a handle, or
screen name, allows that hacker to take credit for their deeds online while keeping their real life
separate. A disadvantage to using screen names, as pointed out in Jordan and Taylor s article, is that a
single individual may have

The Stroop Effect
Abstract
The aim of this experiment was to test cognitive interference. The Stroop Effect is the finding that
naming words is easier than stating the color of the word. The Stroop Effect was first conducted in
1935 by John Ridley Stroop which was published in the Studies of interference in serial verbal
reactions . This experiment was replicated by asking 40 participants to complete two different tasks.
Task one involved reading words printed in different colors. The second task was to read the color of
the printed word. Participants were timed while conducting task one and two. This experiment had a
repeated measure and the participants included 20 girls and 20 boys. The independent variable was
reading the test paper during both tasks. The dependent variable was the time it would take to
complete task one and task two. Participants were asked to read the test paper as fast as they ... Show

The results of our replicated experiment show that just simply reading the word did not take as long as
reading the color of the word. In this experiment, we chose to compare reading the word versus
reading the color because we felt it was more ecologically valid and acted as a better comparison to
understand the Stroop effect. The first reason as to why reading the color of the word takes longer is
because of selective attention theory which explains that naming the actual color of the word requires
more attention than simply reading the word. Interference is another important concept to consider
which occurs when someone sees the words, they see both the color and its meaning and this creates
conflict in your mind. Based on our schema, we know that reading the actual word is more important
than reading the color. Inference shows that you are not always in control of what you are able to pay
attention to, this occur when you try and focus on the color of the

Gospel Of Mark Reason
The Gospel of Mark Three Reasons to Study The Gospel of Mark written by John Mark around mid to
late 60 s is the shortest yet possibly the most interesting of all four Gospels. It contains the narrative
history, sermons, and parables of Jesus Christ in just sixteen quick chapters. And according to some
instructors and authors it also has the most miracles of Christ within its pages.
Three reasons for a student of the Bible to consider studying, not just reading the Gospel of Mark is
one, the key word in Mark is Immediately which is used frequently causing the reader to move from
one account to the next rapidly.
Two, unlike Luke and Matthew who begin their accounts of the Gospel with the events surrounding
the birth of the Jesus, Mark ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We read in Mark 1:22 that They were astonished at his teachings, they were all amazed, Mark 1:27;
they were utterly astounded Mark 6:51; the disciples were amazed at his words, Mark 10:24. The
Bible student can take the example from our Lord who came here with purpose, to save the lost.
The purpose of the Gospel of Mark is to show that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of
God who was sent to suffer and to serve in order to rescue and restore mankind. It is widely
recognized that the theme of this Gospel comes out chapter ten and verse forty five, For even the Son
of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.
In the third point we answer the question, why would these short writings be so well noted and
recognized? And this is answered with the theme verse as it paints a picture of how Mark describes
our Lord. Mark displays both Jesus divinity and his humanity. For example, Mark tells us that Jesus is
the carpenter Mark 6:3. Matthew softens it a bit by saying that Jesus is the carpenter s son Matthew
13:55. Mark even tells us about Jesus emotions. Jesus was moved with compassion Mark 6:34; he
sighed Mark 7:34; 8:12; he marveled at the unbelief of his own people Mark 6:6; he looked

One late summer evening I was watching the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. If you are a frequent
viewer of Late Night, infomercials account for the majority of the advertising. To this day, I remember
Safe Cell Tab being advertised as a sticker like device that would reduce the risk of cancer when using
it with a wireless phone. According to Wikipedia, sixty percent of the world s population owns a cell
phone. There are roughly 6.7 billion people in the world. This means on any given day 4 billion
people are exposed to cellular phones. If cell phones have the potential to cause harm to the human

Scientific studies have focused on the question of whether there is a risk of getting brain cancer for
those who use mobile phones compared to non users. Two types of studies are generally used to
investigate suspected cancer causes: epidemiological studies, which look at the incidence of a disease
in certain groups of people, and animal studies (Phones, Cancers and Brain Tumors What is the REAL
story?). Scientific studies are sometimes difficult to carry out in a way that can determine whether a
cause and effect relationship exists between a single variable in a person s life (in this case, cell phone
use) and the person s disease (brain cancer) (Phones, Cancers and Brain Tumors What is the REAL
story?). Variables that complicate the research in a relationship between brain cancer and cell phones:
Cancer takes many years to develop, which makes long term cell phone effects hard to study. For
instance, how can rats and mice be tested and interpreted so it corresponds to the behavior of humans?
How can scientists account for the fact that these studies sometimes expose animals to RF almost
continuously up to 22 hours a day and to whole body radiation, unlike people s head only exposure
(Phones, Cancers and Brain Tumors What is the REAL story). Controversially, some types of cancer
are being cured with electromagnetic waves. Research conducted at the MD Anderson Cancer Center
in Houston shows that spiking

History And History Of Fuel Cells
History of fuel cells according to Vladimir S. Bagotsky (2012)
Luigi Galvani (1737 1798)
In 1791, the Italian physiologist Luigi Galvani discovered that the muscle contractions, similar to the
discharged of a Leyden charge, will occur when two metals touch the nerve of a frog.
Alexandro Volta (1745 1827)
In 1800, Alexandro Volta designed a device called Volta pile that originated from the phenomenon
discovered by Galvani. The Volta pile is the prototype of electrochemical power sources such as
battery and was of significance of development is the science of both electricity and electrochemistry.
Sir William Robert Grove (1811 1896)
In 1830s, A British chemist Sir William Robert Grove conducted a series of experiment on water
electrolysis. His device consisted of two platinum electrodes dipping into water acidified with sulfuric
acid. Grove assumed that by channeling current, water can be decomposed to hydrogen and oxygen
and the possibility of opposite reaction. But after disconnecting the current, the electrodes at which the
hydrogen and oxygen had been evolve as gasses were polarized. A certain potential difference was
preserve between the electrodes. Sir Grove named his invention as gas voltaic battery. His invention
becomes the first prototype of fuel cells.

The Distribution of Alu Genotypes
The Distribution of Alu Genotypes in a Group of Level 4 Students The Distribution of Alu Genotypes
Introduction DNA is mostly found in the nucleus of nearly every cell in the human body, it contains
the biological instructions that make us unique. Located on the genome at different locations are short,

recently become used in forensic identification and paternity testing. Alu elements are found in nearly
one million copies per haploid gene which approximately 5 10% of the human genome. The Alu

Muhammad Ali Is NOT a Hero Essay
Muhammad Ali Is NOT a Hero
To be a hero, someone could save others, respect their country, and care. The firefighters from the Fire
Department of New York have all of these characteristics, even thought they aren t perfect. Everyday,
they risk their lives to save others. They show their patriotism even on the trucks they drive through
the cities. Most of all they don t just do it because it s their job; they do it because they care. Unlike
the people at FDNY, Muhammad Ali is violent, separatist, and rude.
The first reason Muhammad Ali isn t a hero is because he is violent. For almost all of his life he
fought in boxing matches that all started when he was a boy because he wanted to beat up the kid who
stole his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second reason Muhammad Ali isn t a hero is he was a separatist who did not respect his country.
He became part of the Nation of Islam. They believed Blacks should break off from other Americans.
Also, in April 1967, Ali refused induction into the U.S. Army, claiming exempt status as a Muslim
minister (Abeles). When asked why he dodged the draft, Ali replied, I ain t got no quarrel with them
Viet Cong, no Viet Cong ever called me n (Biography.com). Because his separatist beliefs and actions,
Muhammad Ali did not show respect for his country.
The third reason Muhammad Ali isn t a hero is because he is rude. He would always taunt his
opponents. Before one of his matches, he taunted Liston calling him the bear and verbally defused the
famous stare as being just plain ugly (Myers 46). When Ali fought George Foreman in Zaire, he had
the Africans chant Ali bumbaye which means Ali kill him (When). Some sportswriters were against
Ali for this reason. Only a rude man like Muhammad Ali would do and say these things.
Because of his violence, rudeness, and separatist beliefs, Muhammad Ali in no way compares to the
men at the Fire Department of New York. While they have saved lives, Muhammad Ali has just beaten
people up. Spiderman is another example of a hero; he saved lives, respected his country, and cared
for the people he was saving. FDNY is just as good as Spiderman,

William Tennyson s Idylls Of The King
Throughout the book by Alfred, Lord Tennyson entitled Idylls of the King, subject, ideas, and object
often reoccur on each page bring with them deeper meaning then that which is apparent. The more
specific motif that I will be explaining is the contrast and similarity of light and darkness in the
descriptions of people, settings, and the mood of a situation. Light and darkness can be contrasted in
many ways, such as the rising sun, bright colors, and physical description of darkness such as heavy
mist. When describing people during specific events, Tennyson uses the diction between light and
dark to show the reader inside the typical appearance of the character and see what they truly are
inside. As Arthur passes by Guinevere, he Felt the light of her eyes into his life (Tennyson 6) while
Guinevere did not even notice that the King had just been in her presence. This light from her eyes is
supposed to be describing Guinevere, but it really gives us insight into the mind of Arthur. While
Arthur has become King, he still acts like an average person. He does not think more highly of himself
than everyone else and can notice a simplistic young woman and instantly love her, although he had
no idea of who she is. This also shows Arthurs innocence in that he instantly see s good in her and feel
the light radiating off of her. We learn later that she is not nearly as wonderful as Arthur had thought,
and as Arthur learns that he was wrong to assume about her, She made her face a

Essay The Elizabethan Monarchy
The Elizabethan Era was from 1533 (the birth of Queen Elizabeth 1) till 1603 (her death). Queen
Elizabeth was the one who was responsible for what happened to the country during this era. For
Queen Elizabeth, being part of the Elizabethan Royalty was a tough and challenging task. She played
an important role within the religious conflicts for power between England and it s neighboring
countries, had the constant pressure to produce a successor, and had to endure sexual discrimination
for being a woman on the throne of England without a male counterpart. After King Henry 8th s death,
there was a dispute over who should rule over England, Queen Elizabeth or Mary Queen of Scots.

These people were closely associated with Mary Queen of Scots for it included Mary s mother, Mary
of Guise. At the time the Guises had bigger problems to worry about than the Elizabethan throne. This
is when the Scottish Factor came into action. For Elizabeth s good fortune the Scottish Presbyterian
Church had despised Catholicism and therefore gave Queen Elizabeth their support of her claim to the
throne. With the support that Queen Elizabeth needed she was able to start planing a military
intervention to Scotland which would end up in a war with France. An intervention is the interference
by a country in another s affair. Elizabeth signed a treaty with Scottish rebels in which she agreed to
have an open intervention if the Scottish Protestant lords would protect Elizabeth in the event that the
French invaded. In March of 1560 war began and the months that followed France had threatened to
ally with Spain if England refused to surrender. It wasn t until thousands had lost their lives did the
religious war end with a treaty, the Treaty of Edinburgh. The treaty was signed July 6, 1560,
confirming Queen Elizabeth s right to the throne. It was through this struggle that Queen Elizabeth
was even able to get to claim her birth right. Her decisions did not only affect her country but also the
neighboring countries. The importance of a successor during the Elizabethan Era was tremendous.

The Digestive Tract ( Gi )
The abundance of our body s ability to carry out the functions required to sustain itself, relies heavily
on our diets. And not diet in terms of a fad you might read about in a health magazine, but rather in
terms of the food we consume for the nutrient contents it contains. This is also referred to as a food s
nutrient density. In addition to the food choices we make, a vital system in our bodies is composed of
several organs that work together to chew, swallow, breakdown, absorb, and expel what was once
lunch, into usable energy for every day tasks (Yale, Kathleen). This system is known as our digestive
tract, or our gastrointestinal tract (GI). Of the many important organs that make up the GI tract, our

Basic anatomy describes two classes of tissues that make up our bodies: epithelial tissues, a thin tissue
forming the outside lining of the body s surface, and connective tissues, tissues that support, bind, and
separate other tissues or organs deep to the epithelium. Believe it or not, your digestive tract is lined
with epithelial cells, supporting the notion that we are theoretically hollow and open to the outside
world, almost like a donut. Epithelial cells, while simplistic in nature, carry out various complex
functions, but of the most important is their ability to secrete mucous and absorb nutrients. In the
stomach, these functions are vital in not only the secretion of HCl, but also protecting us from the HCl
itself. Lining the stomach is an epithelial mucosa layer known as the secretory sheet, which produces a
carpet of mucus that covers the interior surface of the stomach. This alkaline mucous layer protects
epithelial cells against the acid and enzymes in the gastric lumen. (Martini, Nath, Batholomew. p. 881)
Two major cells that play a key role in the breakdown of nutrients live in gastric pits of the rugae, they
are parietal and chief cells. Chief cells promote enzymatic breakdown of nutrients, while parietals
cells play a major role in the secretion of HCl.
The parietal cell itself

The Importance Of Characterization In Troilus And Cressida
From how people structure their speeches to how they use words, the audience can understand a lot
about their traits and personalities. This is used by many authors in literature, and it is called
characterization. Characterization is the method in which the author reveals the attributes of
characters. In the play, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare uses speeches by two Greek leaders to
further their characterizations. This story takes place during the Trojan War, in which the Greeks
fought the Trojans over the theft of Menelaus wife, Helen. While the main story of the play revolves
around the two lovers, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare incorporates many aspects of the war as
well. In Act I Scene III, Agamemnon, the general of the Greek army, encourages the Greek army by
motivating them to persevere through the long lasting war. He believes that the Gods are trying to test
them, and Troy will eventually crumble if they show constancy. On the other hand, Ulysses, one of the
Greek leaders, responds to Agamemnon with another speech emphasizing that the reason for the
failures of their camp is the absence of hierarchy. This exchange exhibits Agamemnon s imperfect
character and Ulysses intelligence through their rhetoric, which also relates to their roles in the Greek
army. Throughout his speech, Agamemnon is unnecessarily verbose in sharing his predictable point,
and the repetitive structure of his speech displays incompetence in leadership. At the start of his
address, he poses a rhetorical question, What grief hath set the jaundice on your cheeks? (1.3.2),
asking his soldiers about why they look so downhearted. He replies to this by stating that all people
have their checks and disasters, (1.3.5), referring to obstacles and setbacks, and that they should
continue to be persistent. He uses the imagery of a knot that diverts the course of growth and how the
growth of the Greek army will be prevented with the lack of determination. As the speech continues,
he presents another rhetorical question: Why then, you princes,/Do you with cheeks abashed behold
our works/And call them shames, (3.1.17 19) which was essentially the identical as the opening
question. It also has the same word choice of cheeks, and

How Junk Food Can End Obesity By David Freedman Summary
David Freedman s article titled How Junk Food Can End Obesity is relevant since we first read the
title. It even sounds satirical or sarcastic, but it encourages the average reader, as well as provokes the
counterparts that would not even imagine nor tolerate the approach Freedman is taking. This article
mainly focuses on criticizing the relatively new wholesome food movement, discrediting many of its
preachers and followers. Freedman s discussion attacks the wholesome activists. He affirms the
excessive pressure these foodies are generating to the enactment of regulations and the demonization
of every processed food, has in some way, harmed the large companies that have been trying to
implement measures to reduce calories. Freedman also claims that is selfish and fantastic to think a
wholesome diet is going to fit the average American, that has a busy schedule, a low to medium
income, limited access to fresh farm markets, and a taste acquired culturally and biologically towards
high fat foods, carbohydrates, sugars, and salts. The panorama of obesity in ... Show more content on

When prices got so high that peasants and other third estate citizens couldn t afford food there was an
inevitable uprising. The peasantry became a class with the ambition to counteract social inequity and
put a stop to escalating food prices. This unrest caused a riot, known as the bread riot, which became a
central cause to the French Revolution. Economics also played an important role in the French
Revolution. In France there was an abundance of debt and taxation. The French monarchy managed
their fiscal affairs by using an unequal system of taxation, borrowing money, or selling noble titles and
other privileges. This led to a long running fiscal debt. France could not solely rely on tariffs to
generate income. Although other countries had higher taxation rates, the burden on the common
people was greater in France. Peasants and other third estates were taxed harshly which in good times
was burdensome and in bad times it was devastating. Nobility and clergy were exempted from paying
taxes. This left the peasants, wage earners, and the professional and business classes with the burden
of taxes. This burden caused the unrest, which eventually led to the French Revolution. Many things
caused the French Revolution. I believe that absolutism and privilege, famine, and economics were
three of the most significant factors causing the French Revolution. These three elements led people to
be unhappy with the current government and want to overthrow it.

Shakespeare s Othello
In Poetics, Aristotle explains tragedy as an imitation of an action that is serious, complete, and of a
certain magnitude [...] through pity and fear effecting the proper purgation of these emotions. Aristotle
notes that a perfect tragedy must include the downfall of the prominent protagonist as a result of his
own tragic flaw, a complex plot, and the use of catharsis. William Shakespeare s Othello, concerns the
downfall of a noble, but greatly flawed, black general in the Venetian army. Through the various

Aristotle states that a tragic hero, first, and most important [...] must be good (Aristotle 6). He further
explains that, any speech or action that manifests moral purpose of any kind will be expressive of
character: the character will be good if the purpose is good (Aristotle 6). Othello s goodness is
displayed when he defends himself from the accusations made by Senator Brabantio about his recent
marriage to Desdemona, Brabantio s daughter. Brabantio argues that Othello, practiced on her with
foul charms, abused her delicate youth with drugs or minerals that weakens motion (I, ii, (line

she did pity them. This only is the witchcraft I have used (I, iii, (line number)). Othello justifies his
actions by stating that he told her about the stories of his adventures which won Desdemona s interest

for a tragic hero. The second requirement noted by Aristotle for a tragic hero is that he/she must be,

How Does Hitchcock Use Lighting In The 39 Steps

made a slightly different approach by inserting some comedic elements. On the other hand, the
lighting designer Pamila Z. Gray works effectively with the rest of the creative team, and they bring
out great and appealing effects for UC Davis version of The 39 Steps. Since most of the scenes take
place at night time, Gray puts a lot of effort in creating the nighttime lighting. On both sides of the
stage, there are two pipes with lighting instruments hanging. Gray uses orange lights for the first row
and blue lights for the second row. The blue lights effectively notify the audience that the scenes take
place at night, while the orange lights help to highlight the characters. It is a smart act using orange
lights instead of tungsten lights since orange is the light of street light, so they can help to create a

Cloning, The, And False Interpretations Of Cloning
Cloning, an ethical issue that has been pressed across the globe, has become a substantial debate
throughout a majority of nations. The incorporation of a new type of reproduction in the United States
has a plentiful amount of benefits for certain animals and objects, but duplicates of humans is hard to
comprehend for many people across America. Currently, cloning is an interesting topic that could
become a new way to improve reproduction of animals and humans, prevent diseases, and increase the
overall health of Americans.
The incorporation of cloning in America has been long pondered on by scientists, government
officials, and even citizens. The issues associated with cloning is simply the unknowns and false
interpretations. These unknowns and false interpretations of cloning has caused a significant number
of Americans to coward at the thought of it. Americans believe that cloning is impossible, and that it s
simply an act straight from a science fiction movie. With millions of people viewing science fiction
movies on cloning, such as Jurassic Park, Avatar, and The 6th Day, those movies all lead to the
downfall of the society. The negative connotation associated with cloning in the media has created a
detrimental perspective on cloning by the American people. The status of how Americans view
cloning is evident within the results from a CGS detailed survey. In the survey of 1000 adult
Americans, 860 of the surveyed believed that cloning to produce a child should be deemed

Ireland Tradition and Dissent
Humanities: Tradition and Dissent
TMA03 Option 1 Ireland: the Invention of Tradition
How useful are the concepts of tradition and dissent in understanding attitudes to the built heritage of
Ireland?
The two concepts of tradition and dissent are extremely useful in understanding the built heritage of
Ireland. To understand the differing attitudes to the built heritage of Ireland is to contemplate the
historical accounts, stories and legends that fabricate traditions and incite dissent.
The concept of tradition is associated with the passing down through generations, beliefs, thoughts
and actions ( tradition , n.d) and dissent derives from a desire to publicly protest against the traditions
and against those holding the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This small step to independence by a group of dissenters was able to use the built heritage site of Tara
to invoke within the Irish people a sense of their lost traditionalism and new found fervor for
nationalism (Laurence, 2008, p.159). Nevertheless, the continual dominance of British rule saw no
substantial social and economic changes for Catholics as they were still steeped in habitual misery
(Finn amp; Lynch, 1995, p.24).
At Daniel O Connell s burial site, his supporters erected the tallest round tower in Ireland. The round
tower is a historical symbol of Irish Christianity. This enabled dissenters to create new traditions to
speak to future generations through the visual power of a symbolic monument. At his request, O
Connell s heart was buried in Rome, the home of the Catholic Church (Burke et al. 2008)
By the beginning of the 19th century, the Cromwellian policies of plantation and land confiscation
were evident on the landscapes of country estates. Landownership was the domain of the privileged
minority. In 1804, up to 10,000 landlords, within a population of 5.4 million, were almost exclusively
Protestant; only 5% of land in Catholic hands ( History of Landed Estates in Ireland, n.d). This leads
to another asset to the built heritage of Ireland, known as The Big House . The Big House is the
country residence of the landlord. At the beginning of the

Causes And Effects Of Autism
When someone mentions electric shock therapy what comes to your mind? Is there a connection
somewhere in your family tree to Fragile X ? Are there toxins in the air that are more dangerous than
we think? Can watching too much television while you are pregnant actually be harmful to your
unborn baby? What could all of these questions possibly have in common? The answer is Autism.
Imagine the overwhelming joy of holding your healthy newborn child and counting ten perfect fingers
and toes. It is hard to believe, when you look at his big blue eyes and dimples, that he could ever be
anything less than perfect. But two years later, you hear the words your child has autism , and can t
help wondering if you are responsible in some way.
Thesis Statement
There is growing evidence that the rapid rise in reported cases of autism is caused, and influenced
equally, by genetic and environmental factors. Environmental factors include a broad range of
influences as varied as parental age, birth complications and maternal nutrition at conception, vaccines
and exposure to pollution during early brain development. Most genetic factors are considered in
combination with environmental ones. It is believed that over time genetic changes brought on by the
environment are passed on to future generations predisposing them to disorders as autism. While
thousands of dollars and countless studies claim to have found a concrete link between environmental
and genetic factors and the new

Relationship Between Mother And Infant
Introduction The relationship between mother and infant is extraordinary. A lot of research has been
done to test the social stresses on dyadic synchrony on mothers and infants as well as toddlers and pre
teens. This article extends on previous research on FFSF exposures by observing not only the social
interactions of the mother and infant from face face interactions but also by still face pictures. Also,
assessing the infant s interactive style, the mother s behavior and dyadic synchrony in observing the
responses to the two FFSF exposures 15 minutes apart. This research is relevant to the neuro field, and
how the development of an infant s brain do to social stress. Specific Findings
Design
The article was separated into 12 sub titles, (Methods, Participants, Procedure, Coding, Statistical
Analasis, Results, Stability of Infant s social stress response between FFSF exposures, Predicting
Infant s Response to the First Social Stress, Predicting Infant s Response to the Repeated Social
Stress, Discussion, Conclusion, References). The methods were only slightly modified from the
previous experiment. The mothers and infant s were exposed twice to the FFSF, 15 days apart and in
two minute episode (play, still face, reunion). The episodes were filmed by two cameras, one on the
mother and one on the infant.

Countries were busy healing from previous wars while fighting ongoing battles at the same time. Nationalism and militarism became extremely evident around the world as advances in science and exploration propelled new discoveries. Significant movements, such as Romanticism and the Industrial Revolution, stemmed in Europe and swept the masses, spreading widely across nations. The rapid growth of the British Empire, alongside the calamitous fall of the French Empire, marked the beginning of the eventful nineteenth century. Under the Declaration of Rights, the foreman s action of discriminating Valjean would be legally protected because distinction based on virtue is permitted. However, the Declaration completely disregards the fact that Valjean was imprisoned for something he did in a hopeless situation. The society turned innocent people into hardened criminals because of their status. In Les Misérables, Hugo focuses on society s mistreatment of Valjean in order to show how society in nineteenth century France was defective because it took no notice of the morality of inevitable crime. By incorporating an accurate historical figure into his novel, Hugo highlights the idea that even in miserable conditions, life can be changed through perseverance and effort. In Les Misérables, Jean Valjean escapes his dark criminal past and uses his knowledge of industry to start a successful factory. Years later, he becomes the mayor and is rumored to have immense sums deposited with Laffitte, with the special condition that they were always at his immediate command (Hugo 55). Hugo places Jacques Laffitte, a real banker from French history, into his novel to interact with the transformed Valjean. Laffitte, a successful banker and politician, rose ... I never quite understood that saying when I was growing up, but my experiences teaching and working in school settings have showed me how true it really is. Obtaining a degree in school psychology will allow me to give the support that students, families and educators need to ensure that every student will thrive. Comparing a Dou Vessel to a Zun Vessel Essay When comparing two relatively similar artistic objects from the same culture, there will invariably be similarities and differences between the two pieces. This is the case when analyzing a Dou Vessel from late 5th to early 4th century BCE China as well as a Zun Vessel from 13th century BCE. Both objects have similar purposes as well as certain aspects of design. However, they differ on other points of design and are also dramatically different in size. The Zun has intricate images woven through the entire object, including a variety of animal motifs. This can be interpreted as steps towards bold assertive statements and even baroque ornamentation. (Thorp, p. 85) There are multiple dragons inscribed on the image, a feature shared with the Dou Vessel. The use of animals signifies an understanding of the animal form as well as infusing life and excitement into the pieces. (Lee, p. 47) Both items also benefit from the implementation inlays. However, the inlay usage on the Zun vessel is black pigment. This is in stark contrast to the gold pigment inlay used in the Dou Vessel. The gold inlay in the Dou vessel, which has a leaf like decoration, symbolizes a new design characteristic that was not popular during the creation of the Zun vessel. (Lee, p. 48) In addition to the distinctions in uses of inlay, the two objects also differ greatly in size, possibly a reflection of the cultural differences. The Zun vessel has features that almost double that of the Dou vessel in terms of diameter and height. Unlike the Dou vessel, which contains handles, the Zun vessels ring base design compels one to carry the object on a shoulder. (Thorp, p. 73) This could in part be because during the Shang period, many of these pieces like the Zun were used for cult rituals and activities. The Stroop Effect was first conducted in 1935 by John Ridley Stroop which was published in the Studies of interference in serial verbal reactions . This experiment was replicated by asking 40 participants to complete two different tasks. Task one involved reading words printed in different colors. The second task was to read the color of the printed word. Participants were timed while conducting task one and two. The results of our replicated experiment show that just simply reading the word did not take as long as reading the color of the word. In this experiment, we chose to compare reading the word versus reading the color because we felt it was more ecologically valid and acted as a better comparison to understand the Stroop effect. The first reason as to why reading the color of the word takes longer is because of selective attention theory which explains that naming the actual color of the word requires more attention than simply reading the word. Interference is another important concept to consider which occurs when someone sees the words, they see both the color and its meaning and this creates conflict in your mind. The purpose of the Gospel of Mark is to show that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God who was sent to suffer and to serve in order to rescue and restore mankind. It is widely recognized that the theme of this Gospel comes out chapter ten and verse forty five, For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. In the third point we answer the question, why would these short writings be so well noted and recognized? And this is answered with the theme verse as it paints a picture of how Mark describes our Lord. Mark displays both Jesus divinity and his humanity. In the autobiography Hunger of Memory by Richard Rodriguez, Rodriguez himself had difficulties participating in class, and interacting with his fellow classmates due to the language barrier. In both The Class and Hunger of Memory Wei and Rodriguez share the common bond of feeling like an alien in the classroom due to knowing more of their private language that they speak regularly speak at home to speaking a language foreign to them, that they have to practice everyday on their own to get familiar with the language and perfect their pronunciations. I want people to discuss how being a child of an immigrant you have higher expectations to achieve, such as having a good education, go to college, get good grades, and be expected to learn a new language. I want the question to reflect back on the terms private language and public language from Hunger of Memory and how those terms contribute to Wei s character in the film The Class. I want people to go deeper and discuss the emotions and process both Wei and Richard Rodriguez go through. How in the beginning both wouldn t interact in the class due to only knowing one language properly. How they both went from shy to being a participant in class. Both Wei and Rodriguez have respect towards their parents and do what their parents ask them too, especially when it comes to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alexandro Volta (1745 1827) In 1800, Alexandro Volta designed a device called Volta pile that originated from the phenomenon discovered by Galvani. The Volta pile is the prototype of electrochemical power sources such as battery and was of significance of development is the science of both electricity and electrochemistry. Sir William Robert Grove (1811 1896) In 1830s, A British chemist Sir William Robert Grove conducted a series of experiment on water electrolysis. His device consisted of two platinum electrodes dipping into water acidified with sulfuric acid. Grove assumed that by channeling current, water can be decomposed to hydrogen and oxygen and the possibility of opposite reaction. But after disconnecting the current, the electrodes at which the hydrogen and oxygen had been evolve as gasses were polarized. A certain potential difference was preserve between the electrodes. Sir Grove named his invention as gas voltaic battery. His invention becomes the first prototype of fuel cells. The firefighters from the Fire Department of New York have all of these characteristics, even thought they aren t perfect. Everyday, they risk their lives to save others. They show their patriotism even on the trucks they drive through the cities. Most of all they don t just do it because it s their job; they do it because they care. Unlike the people at FDNY, Muhammad Ali is violent, separatist, and rude. The first reason Muhammad Ali isn t a hero is because he is violent. William Tennyson s Idylls Of The King Throughout the book by Alfred, Lord Tennyson entitled Idylls of the King, subject, ideas, and object often reoccur on each page bring with them deeper meaning then that which is apparent. The more specific motif that I will be explaining is the contrast and similarity of light and darkness in the descriptions of people, settings, and the mood of a situation. Light and darkness can be contrasted in many ways, such as the rising sun, bright colors, and physical description of darkness such as heavy mist. When describing people during specific events, Tennyson uses the diction between light and dark to show the reader inside the typical appearance of the character and see what they truly are inside. As Arthur passes by Guinevere, he Felt the light of her eyes into his life (Tennyson 6) while Guinevere did not even notice that the King had just been in her presence. This light from her eyes is supposed to be describing Guinevere, but it really gives us insight into the mind of Arthur. While Arthur has become King, he still acts like an average person. He does not think more highly of himself than everyone else and can notice a simplistic young woman and instantly love her, although he had no idea of who she is. This also shows Arthurs innocence in that he instantly see s good in her and feel the light radiating off of her. And not diet in terms of a fad you might read about in a health magazine, but rather in terms of the food we consume for the nutrient contents it contains. This is also referred to as a food s nutrient density. In addition to the food choices we make, a vital system in our bodies is composed of several organs that work together to chew, swallow, breakdown, absorb, and expel what was once lunch, into usable energy for every day tasks (Yale, Kathleen). Basic anatomy describes two classes of tissues that make up our bodies: epithelial tissues, a thin tissue forming the outside lining of the body s surface, and connective tissues, tissues that support, bind, and separate other tissues or organs deep to the epithelium. Believe it or not, your digestive tract is lined with epithelial cells, supporting the notion that we are theoretically hollow and open to the outside world, almost like a donut. Epithelial cells, while simplistic in nature, carry out various complex functions, but of the most important is their ability to secrete mucous and absorb nutrients. In the stomach, these functions are vital in not only the secretion of HCl, but also protecting us from the HCl itself. Lining the stomach is an epithelial mucosa layer known as the secretory sheet, which produces a carpet of mucus that covers the interior surface of the stomach. This alkaline mucous layer protects epithelial cells against the acid and enzymes in the gastric lumen. • 28. The Importance Of Characterization In Troilus And Cressida From how people structure their speeches to how they use words, the audience can understand a lot about their traits and personalities. This is used by many authors in literature, and it is called characterization. Characterization is the method in which the author reveals the attributes of characters. In the play, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare uses speeches by two Greek leaders to further their characterizations. This story takes place during the Trojan War, in which the Greeks fought the Trojans over the theft of Menelaus wife, Helen. While the main story of the play revolves around the two lovers, Troilus and Cressida, Shakespeare incorporates many aspects of the war as well. In Act I Scene III, Agamemnon, the general of the Greek army, encourages the Greek army by motivating them to persevere through the long lasting war. He believes that the Gods are trying to test them, and Troy will eventually crumble if they show constancy. On the other hand, Ulysses, one of the Greek leaders, responds to Agamemnon with another speech emphasizing that the reason for the failures of their camp is the absence of hierarchy. This exchange exhibits Agamemnon s imperfect character and Ulysses intelligence through their rhetoric, which also relates to their roles in the Greek army. Throughout his speech, Agamemnon is unnecessarily verbose in sharing his predictable point, and the repetitive structure of his speech displays incompetence in leadership. At the start of his address, he poses a rhetorical question, What grief hath set the jaundice on your cheeks? (1.3.2), asking his soldiers about why they look so downhearted. He replies to this by stating that all people have their checks and disasters, (1.3.5), referring to obstacles and setbacks, and that they should continue to be persistent. He uses the imagery of a knot that diverts the course of growth and how the growth of the Greek army will be prevented with the lack of determination. As the speech continues, he presents another rhetorical question: Why then, you princes,/Do you with cheeks abashed behold our works/And call them shames, (3.1.17 19) which was essentially the identical as the opening question. The peasantry became a class with the ambition to counteract social inequity and put a stop to escalating food prices. This unrest caused a riot, known as the bread riot, which became a central cause to the French Revolution. Economics also played an important role in the French Revolution. In France there was an abundance of debt and taxation. The French monarchy managed their fiscal affairs by using an unequal system of taxation, borrowing money, or selling noble titles and other privileges. This led to a long running fiscal debt. France could not solely rely on tariffs to generate income. Although other countries had higher taxation rates, the burden on the common people was greater in France. Peasants and other third estates were taxed harshly which in good times was burdensome and in bad times it was devastating. Nobility and clergy were exempted from paying taxes. This left the peasants, wage earners, and the professional and business classes with the burden of taxes. This burden caused the unrest, which eventually led to the French Revolution. To understand the differing attitudes to the built heritage of Ireland is to contemplate the historical accounts, stories and legends that fabricate traditions and incite dissent. This small step to independence by a group of dissenters was able to use the built heritage site of Tara to invoke within the Irish people a sense of their lost traditionalism and new found fervor for nationalism (Laurence, 2008, p.159). Nevertheless, the continual dominance of British rule saw no substantial social and economic changes for Catholics as they were still steeped in habitual misery (Finn amp; Lynch, 1995, p.24). At Daniel O Connell s burial site, his supporters erected the tallest round tower in Ireland. The round tower is a historical symbol of Irish Christianity. This enabled dissenters to create new traditions to speak to future generations through the visual power of a symbolic monument. At his request, O Connell s heart was buried in Rome, the home of the Catholic Church (Burke et al. 2008) By the beginning of the 19th century, the Cromwellian policies of plantation and land confiscation were evident on the landscapes of country estates. Landownership was the domain of the privileged minority. In 1804, up to 10,000 landlords, within a population of 5.4 million, were almost exclusively Protestant; only 5% of land in Catholic hands ( History of Landed Estates in Ireland, n.d). This leads to another asset to the built heritage of Ireland, known as The Big House . The Big House is the country residence of the landlord. At the beginning of the ... • 40. Causes And Effects Of Autism When someone mentions electric shock therapy what comes to your mind? Is there a connection somewhere in your family tree to Fragile X ? Are there toxins in the air that are more dangerous than we think? Can watching too much television while you are pregnant actually be harmful to your unborn baby? What could all of these questions possibly have in common? The answer is Autism. Imagine the overwhelming joy of holding your healthy newborn child and counting ten perfect fingers and toes. It is hard to believe, when you look at his big blue eyes and dimples, that he could ever be anything less than perfect. But two years later, you hear the words your child has autism , and can t help wondering if you are responsible in some way. Thesis Statement There is growing evidence that the rapid rise in reported cases of autism is caused, and influenced equally, by genetic and environmental factors. Environmental factors include a broad range of influences as varied as parental age, birth complications and maternal nutrition at conception, vaccines and exposure to pollution during early brain development. Most genetic factors are considered in combination with environmental ones. It is believed that over time genetic changes brought on by the environment are passed on to future generations predisposing them to disorders as autism. While thousands of dollars and countless studies claim to have found a concrete link between environmental and genetic factors and the new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
