What Is South Park Oxymoron
For South Park to be a cartoon and the main characters are drawn as children, its provides not on
irony but an oxymoron as well. Its purpose is to appeal male audience as well. I believe it is a
balance for a man who still loves cartoons who does not want to watch shows such as Pokemon .
South Park is an adult cartoon that caters to the inner childof older viewers who watch it.
Notable television review companies such as TV.com, IMDb, and Common Sense Media rated
South Park highly. TV.com gave it a 9/10, IMDb 0 and Common Sense rated it 4/5. Each scale
based on different factors. It is at your discretion which source you believe is more factual ;
however, there is one data base s scale that stood out to me the most.

Yams And Symbolism In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe
Emphasized throughout the novel, we see the chi of a person determining whether they will
receive a good yam harvest for the year or not. Thus, in order to maintain a good chi, men within
Ibo pay respects to the earth goddess Ani, through the Feast of the New Yam. Spiritually, the earth
goddess overlooks and distributes successful harvests to men in Ibo. Physically, men are in charge
of harvesting their own crops to ensure a successful harvest. Hence, throughout Things Fall Apart,
Chinua Achebeutilizes symbolism through yams and motifs through the earth goddess and the
chi of a person to emphasize one of the overarching themes of the novel: wealth, respect, and
power. Throughout the novel, it is emphasized that the more yams a man is able to successfully
grow, the richer in respect and wealth he is to become. Thus, Unoka s inability to grow a
successful harvest makes him known for the weakness of [his] machete and hoe (Achebe 17). In
turn, Unoka s lack of strength and wealth causes the earth goddess to feel a disgrace towards
him. And, when a man does not appear to have worked for his family s well being, he is not
allowed to die in his house (Achebe 18). As a result, we see Unoka dying in isolation to the
world because his chi states that he is not worthy of the respect of his community. Unlike his
father Unoka, Okonkwo works towards the respect of his people. By planting crops specifically
yams, Okonkwo takes on a great pride towards his doings as it represents a

A Zombie Apocalypse
In the event of a zombie apocalypse everything in this world would change. Society will not be
the same, the norms society once had will be different. Governments would like to establish social
control but the environment would be too chaotic to control. A survival mode would be establish
by everybody, everybody would be by themselves, and only protect their own. Resources would be
the new currency, because paper money would no longer have value, but a resources will.
Governments would like to establish social order, but the people would not trust the government
anymore. Deviance will not have meaning; everything will be acceptable in order to survive in the
zombie apocalypse. Stealing, murdering, assassinating, fighting, and total disaster is expected
from this environment. If an individual needs food for its family and goes to the supermarket, and
he is denied the food, that individual will be fighting to get food for its family. Law enforcement
would be trying to enforce the law but they too will be in trouble. An individual needing something
in order to survive would kill anybody, including a law enforcement officer. Policewould realize
that their life is in danger and stop serving the government, if this happens who would enforce
order? This would be the start of a chaotic environment. The wealthy would try to buy resources or
services but their paper backed money will no longer be accepted why? Because there would be no
government establishing order or a system,

Features Of King Lear
There are many aspects of Shakespeare s King Lear which combine to ensure it continues to
resonate with modern audiences Discuss.
King Lear is a timeless piece of thought provoking drama. Shakespeare s genius has ensured that it
continues to resonate with audiences over 400 years after being written. It depicts intriguing
aspects of human nature that are still relevant today. These include corruption, deception, and filial
strife. Shakespeare also portrays a cast of excellently drawn characters to engage the audience
throughout while simultaneously personifying virtue, evil, and hubris. This excellent play which
continues to resonate with modern audiences is most spectacular for the fact that it is a beautifully
crafted piece of drama throughout. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It allows audiences, present and past, an insight into the minds of the characters. This allows them
a deeper understanding of the plot and each character themselves. Edmund uses soliloquy
throughout, initially outlining his Machiavellian intentions when saying Wherefore should I
stand in the plague of custom? This engages the audience and offers them an insight into how
the play will unfold. Cordelia also talks in soliloquy as she professes her desire to aid her father,
Restoration hang thy medicine upon my lips and let this kiss repair those harms that my sister in
thy reverence have made . The importance of soliloquy and it s contribution to the play is shown
by the modern drama House of Cards in which it is also employed. It engages the audience and
ensures that they enjoy the play and never lose interest as they are given a 3rd dimension into the
characters and an intimate understanding of their

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Membrane Contactors
Abstract
Since the advent of membrane contactors as means of separation alternative to conventional
techniques of separation, such as distillation towers, packed bed towers, research has been done on
membranes so as to industrialize the whole process for large plants. The membrane contactors
provide significant advantage over the more traditional separation tools and hence, are being
increasingly used. The researchers have, though, realized a major disadvantage associated with
membrane contactors. The membrane used for liquid gas or liquid liquid contact undergoes a
phenomenon, referred to as wetting, which primarily involves the liquid entering the pores of the
membrane in the gas liquid separation (or either of the two liquids in the case ... Show more content

The traditional mass transfer equipment has been known to have several disadvantages such as
flooding, weeping, entrainment, channeling, etc. Further, the above mentioned operational
problems were in addition to the technical scale up problems that were faced while the installation
of such equipment. The preparation prior to industrial set up generally required designing,
appropriate small scale testing, pilot plant testing and finally industrial scale test, before the
system went into operation. Such elaborate preparations required large amount of capital as well
as physical space as the separation equipment, is most generally extremely large and occupies
huge area. The introduction of membrane separators was a major breakthrough as the membrane
separation techniques do away with all such problems. The membrane separators generally have a
very high selectivity for a particular component (which is aimed to be separated) in the absorption
process, as well as they are compact and modular, which essentially means that the scale up is not
an issue with the membrane separators. Their other advantages include very high surface to volume
ratio, which can also be calculated (whereas in columns, such as distillation or packed column,
contact surface area is unknown and cannot be estimated), and are flexible in operation as they
separate gas liquid flows which can be independently controlled as well as

Imal A Short Story
Sunlight streamed down on the desert surface as just under the sands, bruised knuckles punched
through the flimsy wooden top of a makeshift coffin. As the dirt poured into the closed space, the
unfortunate person inside packed the dirt towards her feet and the sides of the rectangular box.
After enough sand and dirt was freed, the woman sat forward and crawled up and out, using her
upper body strength to pull her out of her own sandy grave. As she stood up, blinking in the
blaring heat, the woman, Imala, gripped her shawl down to cover her dark skin from the sun.
Her long dark hair was pulled into a braid, easy for her cowboy hat to sit atop her head. Upon
feeling the sun s heat on the top of her head, she cursed in Apache.

In an instant, Imala kicked a couple of long wooden boxes and many other supplies that were
lying on the floor out of the door to the room thrusting them out of the train. Sebastian whipped his
head to look, and in his distraction, Imala drew her revolver and shot the criminal in the leg. He
cried out in pain and she tackled both him and Sebastian out of the door, off the train. Forgotten in
the fight, Eli got up, appearing stunned and realized he now had to take the controls.
Meanwhile, the skirmish continued outside while the three figures rolled out onto the desert sands
with a thud. Imala was still outgunned, but now Eli could take the train back to Grace.
You ve really done it now, missy. The bossattempted to get up, but Sebastian decked her across the
face for him. He pulled out his gun and aimed it at her, but the criminal started shouting.
Wait, wait, wait! the boss cried out angrily as Sebastian paused. You see the shovel and box?
Imala and Sebastian glanced over to the pile of items Imala had kicked out of the moving train
including boxes and tools. I have an idea. Missy, pick up that shovel and start

A Report On Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis is described as a congenital disorder affecting exocrine gland function, with
respiratory effects, including excessive secretions, obstruction of the bronchial system, infection,
and tissue damage (Kowalczyk, 2014). Cystic fibrosis is also known as CF, and is the most
common lethal disease in white children (Kowalczyk, 2014).
People whom have CF have histologically normal lungs at birth. Lung damage occurs when
secretions from the enlarged bronchial glands gradually increase; this leads to the obstruction of
the bronchial system (Kowalczyk, 2014). Mucus clogs the airways and this plugging promotes
infection such as staph which causes more tissue damage; it also causes atelectasis and emphysema.
Once this destructive cycle starts, it is very difficult to stop and ultimately results in respiratory
failure (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation). Doctors will follow the diseases progression by chest x ray;
it will show the gradual worsening of structural abnormalities (Kowalczyk, 2014). CF does not just
affect the respiratory system, but also affects the exocrine system. Parts of the exocrine system
affected are salivary glands, the small bowel, pancreas, biliary tract, a female s cervix, and the
male genital system (Kowalczyk, 2014). The mucus in the pancreas stops the release of digestive
enzymes; these digestive enzymes are imperative for the body to break down food and absorb
nutrients (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation). Mucus can also cause liver

Bringing Back the Five Year High School Program
Bringing Back the Five Year High School Program For many teens, their four years of high school
have been a memorable and transforming experience, but for others, high school was just another
brick building keeping them from the real world. But what if another year of education was added
back to the four year program and it assisted students with their high schoolexperience? Since 2003,
Toronto high schools have removed the fifth year of the high school program but people have
spoken about bringing back the extra year to help students with course averages, stress and decrease
the dropout rate. Returning to the five year program may be beneficial to help high school students

It gives them time to relax from other sources of stress like increased work load. It is said that
having academic courses will help students stay on task and become persistent because of the
increased amount of work they need to complete, however, an abundance school work can cause
extreme stress and/or anxiety. If a student were to have a course schedule of Physics, biology,
Chemistry, Advanced functions, Calculus and French, he/she would need some time to relax in
a day and express themselves thorough one of their interests, so they may choose to take an arts
course (i.e. Drama, Dance, Media Studies, etc.) or join a club or activity. The five year high
school program can help with improving a student s overall average which will later be of value
to them when applying to post secondary schools. A student with a lower grade average in their
final year of highs school will have a smaller chance of getting accepted into the university
/college program of their choice whereas a student with a higher average during their final high
school year will have a greater chance of being accepted into university/college program of their
choice. The fifth year will provide more time to focus on school work and to receive help from
teachers. The five year program in high schools will significantly help students with course
planning and marks but also help them keep peace of mind.

This paper is a critique of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment. The paper starts of
giving general information about the theory, such as the author, publisher, and a brief description of
the history of the assessment. Secondly the paper describes the test and its content, structure,
purpose, administration, and scoring. Technical evaluation is the third section of the paper that
discusses research done on the MBTI throughout the years. The technical evaluation section will
talk about the correct sampling, reliability, and validity of the assessment. The quality of the test,
administration, scoring, and interpretation are addressed in the practical evaluation section of the
test. Lastly the paper talks about the strengths and weakness of the assessment and gives
recommendations.
Myers Briggs Type Indicator Assessment The title of the test that will be critiqued throughout this
paper is Myers Briggs Type Indicator Assessment. The assessment was originally created by
Katherine Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers based on the Jungian theory by Carl G.
Jung. The Jungian theory says that people s behaviors vary due to differences in the way people
perceive things and judge the things perceived (Whiston, 2005). There are many editions of the test
and they have different publishers. The first published manual form was in 1956 and published by

True Grit Coming Of Age Quotes
People do not give it credence that a fourteen year old girl could leave home and go off in the
wintertime to avenge her father s blood. (Portis 11) And many people still do not imagine that a
story like that is even close to being realistic. Even though, True Grit is fictional; it seemed real as
the reader saw Mattie Ross came of age. Coming of age is the transition from youth to adulthood.
Throughout the novel, True Grit, the protagonist, Mattie Ross, develops courage, common sense,
and bravery as she comes of age from her experience of hunting down the man who murdered her
father. The fourteen year old faced many challenges that marked the growth of her maturity.
For the duration of the novel, Mattie Ross was gaining courage as ... Show more content on

ready I said, You will not go with me? I think not, said he. It is just the other way around. You are
going with me. I pointed the revolver at his belly and shot him down. Over the course of this
passage, Mattie s confidence grows. She started out nervous with running into Tom Chaney but in
the discussion, she decides to shoot him. This passage shows the reader just how much Mattie has
grown. When Rooster killed Moon, Mattie was extremely uncomfortable with that death but now
she had grown to the point where she tried to murder a man. Well, it was not just a random man. It
was her father s murderer. Although this was the whole point of the journey; it still reveals
development in her character. In the beginning, she expected Rooster to shoot Tom Chaney but
now Mattie had become ready to kill her father s slaughterer. The whole novel prepared for this
moment; the moment where Mattie finally stood up to the man who single handedly blew up her
life. This passage was probably the most momentous part of the book since it was when Mattie
was able to hold her own to get her

The Black Panthers For Self Defense
The Black Panthers, originally named as the Black Panthers for Self Defense, was an African
American revolutionary party that had originated in Oakland, California. It was an organization
that was founded by Huey Percy Newton and Bobby Seale in 1966. Not only that, but it was also
the largest revolutionary organization that had ever existed. Their purpose was to protect fellow
African American residents from mistreatment from the authorities. During the 1960s, racial injust
had spreaded throughout the nation and many suffered through economic and social inequality. In
addition, this party, or organization, was only active in the United States from 1966 when it was
created, up until 1989. Learning about the Black Panthers Party helped us put in perspective the
way African Americans had lived during the time of racial prejudice. The topics that we will be
focusing on will be about Huey Percy Newton, Bobby Seale and the organization itself, which was
the Black Panther Party. Huey Percy Newton was an African American activist who was credited
for finding, or establishing, the Black Panther Party, which was a revolutionary party. Not only
being founder of this organization, but he was also a big leading power for this black power
movement, created in 1960s. Newton was born on February 17, 1942, in Monroe, Louisiana.
Newton s family had then moved to Oakland, California when he was still a young child,
considering the fact that he was the youngest sibling out of seven children

Soundtrack Of Star Wars
Star Wars is one of those franchises that spans generations, and is beloved around the world. The
sights and sounds of Star Wars has prevailed throughout the decades, whether as nostalgia, or to
complain about the prequel trilogy. Star Wars has become ingrained in the part of society reserved
for pop culture references, memes, and wasted money on official (and not so official) merchandise.
Overall, every aspect, but particularly the sounds, of the Star Warsfranchise is made to connect
back to the original trilogy. Despite being spread across decades and multiple facets of the
franchise, the familiar, continuing sounds of Star Wars is a way of retaining continuity, and
nostalgia, as well as identifying characters and themes. The scene chosen... Show more content on

The sounds match the area and environments, as discussed in above paragraphs it is the robots
and technology that were created within the realm of the film s universe and genre that set the
environment. Aurally the sense of space is not similar to what is being visually portrayed in
some parts, particularly when characters are talking; there is no reverberation off of metal or
plastic when Obi Wan Kenobi is talking to PadmГ© in the spacious hospital room full of
plastics and metal, he sounds more like he is in a closed environment, and close to the
microphone. Despite this the soundscape is still used to effectively shape the environment seen
on screen into a hallucination of a fully real world, one is able to almost sense and touch within
one s mind. Most evidently at the very end scene when Darth Vader is overcome by anguish at the
revelation that he killed PadmГ©. In that part he loses his control over the Force and starts to
destroy the robots and equipment still present in the room after his surgery. One can hear the
familiar sounds of bottles and glass being smashed, and crinkles of cans

Assessment of United States Performance in the Vietnam War
The quote is saying that the USA should have won the Vietnam War because they had better
weapons and better trained soldiers than the Vietcong. This can be split into 2 parts: America
should have won and, America had better weapons and training than the Vietcong . I agree with
the first part because America should have won the Vietnam War as they are very powerful. I
disagree with the second part because the Vietcong ha supplies from Russia and China which were
good weapons and they were extremely well trained, but in guerrilla warfare. It does NOT mean
they were less advanced.

America did have better technology which you would have expected them to use toothier
advantage more than they did. Where the American s had helicopters, the Vietcong had bikes. The
American s had bombs which they used in Operation Rolling Thunder. They had a large quantity
of them too as they dropped more bombs than were dropped in the whole of World War II. They
had chemicals such as Agent Orange and Napalm which was special. Regular Napalm just sets fire
to things which can be put out with water or by taking the oxygen away. The American s developed
it so that it could burn without oxygen which created devastating effects. People rolled on the
ground but it continued to burn through their body and it still burnt people when they jumped in
water.
I do disagree that the American s were better trained. They were better trained in conventional
warfare and had a lot of experience from World War II. But the Vietcong matched this. They were
better trained than the American s but not in conventional warfare. They were experts in guerrilla
warfare which proved vital in their defeat on the USA. They also had a lot experience as they
were at war with the French for a long time.
The American s also had more problems which prevented them from winning the war. In my
opinion, this was probably the main reason America lost the war. American support diminished

Sixth Great Extinction
1)attention grabber: Here on Earth today we are living through a time known as the sixth great
extinction, at least according to certain scientists.
2)listener relevance: Many species go extinct daily, which ruins ecosystems and causes extinction to
other organisms that live in that environment. Which leads to extinction of larger organisms and
possibly could even lead to us.
3)speaker credibility: I believe that we need help preserve our planet and species that live here as
best as we can to prevent the destruction of Earth and the many organisms that live here. Without
plants and animals we would not be able to survive.

animals already have been federally listed as threatened or endangered and protected. That is a

that from happening. Though some may never be able to return to the wild if the habitat they live
in is completely gone from in the outside world, they would not be able to survive. So preserving
habitats for these animals is also a key factor of keeping species from going extinct.

Systemic Psychodynamic Coaching in the Workplace
Systemic Psychodynamic Coaching in the Workplace: Workplace coaching is a term that refers to
the process of equipping people in the working environment with necessary tools, opportunities, and
knowledge for total development in order to enhance their effectiveness from an individual,
organizational, and work perspective. Workplace coaching has emerged as a major concept in
modern organizations since leaders, researchers, and organizations have identified it as a crucial
competency in leadership and management (Cacioppe, n.d.). The increase in this practice has also
been attributed to the fact that employees continue to request for coaching. As an important
competency in leadership and management, workplace coaching has assumed different
perspectives and approaches because of the existence of various coaching models such as Systemic
Psychodynamic Coaching model. The Concept of Workplace Coaching: As previously mentioned,
the concept of workplace coaching can be defined as the knowledge, skills, and processes through
which people engage themselves in making the maximum impact and continually developing
themselves and organizations in light of constant change. While this coaching process utilizes
similar communication processes with therapy or counseling, it is not the same as counseling or
therapy. The difference between the two is attributed to the fact that therapy focuses on resolution
and healing of the past while workplace coaching focuses on creativity, action,

Stock Market Crash Of The 1920s Essay
When most people think of the U.S in the 1920s they thinks of flapper girls, the up and coming
sports industry, and all the new technology that was coming out. What many people don t think of
is all the ups and downs that the economy experienced. From the economical adjustments after
WW1 and the worker strikes, all the way to the booming economy and eventual crash of the stock
market. With that being said, I believe it is safe to say that the 1920s had it s fair share of ups and
downs. Although the 1920s had many great attributes, it is still most widely known for the
disastrous stock market crash. After the end of World War 1, the United States
of America was in a
pit of hurt trying to stabilize the economy again. In the end, however, they somehow come out

Temptation Is An Unavoidable Part Of Life
Temptation is an unavoidable part of life that has been around since the creation of the world
and man. After the creation of man, God placed him in the Garden of Eden, and gave him
dominion over the Garden and everything in it. The only command given to man, by God, was
to not eat from one particular tree or he would die. In an act of rebellion against God, Satan
approached Eve and persuaded her to eat from the tree that God forbade them from eating. This
persuasion included lying to Eve about dying and that they would be like God (Genesis 3:4 5,
NIV). On top of the lies, the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing
to the eye (Genesis 3:6, NIV). Satan placed Eve in a situation where she gave in to her desires,
lust for the fruit, envy and greed to be like God, these are the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life. Just because Satan tempted Eve does not mean that she sinned, temptation is
not to be equated with sin(Towns, The Essential Element of Sin, 2002). Eve acted on her desires
and ate the forbidden fruit. She in turn, led Adam to eat from the tree. This act of defiance, by
Adam and Eve, against God resulting from the temptation and deception, by Satan, led to the
original sinand to the fall of man. The fall of man resulted in the spiritual separation of man from
God. Temptation led to sin that then led to the fall of man and resulted in a separation from God
that comes to an end with spiritual and physical

The Birthplace of American Patriotism
By now, the British had defeated Napoleon and could engage their entire military on the war
across the sea. The plan to force President Madison to surrender was a three part invasion. One
force would attack the north, coming in through Lake Champlain, sailing down the Hudson River
and advancing into New York. The second force would strike the Chesapeake area and capture
Washington and Baltimore. The third would advance into New Orleans through the Gulf of
Mexico and take control of the Mississippi River. Though the attack on the Chesapeake was
planned as a distraction to the other two parts of the plan, the militias in Maryland fell so easily to
the British that they kept advancing in that area. First, the British marched into the capital,
Washington D.C., trampled the American soldiers attempting to halt them, and set fire to all of the
important buildings, including the President s Mansion, the Capital, and US Treasury. The tragedy
fogged the Americans sight of victory but did not dampen the soldiers spirits and will to defeat the
military super power. Next, the British moved on to Baltimore, a busy trading port and a source of
well built warships. General George Armistead commanded Fort McHenry, Baltimore s blockade to
incoming attackers. Armistead rallied the residents of the city to build fortifications and join the
ranks in the fort. He ordered a giant flag to be sewn to show the British that Baltimore was ready
to fight. As dawn arrived, so did the British. Led by

Bullet In The Brain Tobias Wolff
In Bullet in the Brain, author Tobias Wolff uses a non traditional plot and a technique of zooming
in/zooming out to help readers understand the difference between wasting their lives or living
fully. The effect of shifts in the plot, point of view, and different perspectives of his character
startle the reader while simultaneously pulling him into an expanded awareness of the story and
its underlying central idea. Bullet in the Brain demonstrates Wolff s profound approach to life with
the theme that a life not lived fully is worse than death. It is the process of choosing how to
respond boldly and courageously to random acts in each moment that is important and memorable.

Wolff is poking fun at himself and the reader by leading them to assume they know the outcome.
He continues to lead the reader by using third person limited point of view to describe a typical
bank and to only depict Anders personality. He masterfully couples the limited point of view with
far away psychic distance to make the reader assume that the plot will keep following a predictable
path. This technique allows Wolff to control the reader s involvement with the characterand the
overall ho hum story, up to this point. Then, Wolff suddenly shifts the psychic distance, changes to
third person omniscient, and lets the reader view the character s last thoughts. Anders voice comes
through as the reader gets closer in his head. Wolff takes a significant risk with his narrativeby
jumping straight from a far away distance into Anders last memory. It is like a movie being shot
with a wide angle camera, then suddenly, almost jarringly, the camera zooms in for a close up. In
a paragraph reminiscent of a CSI medical zoom in moment, Wolff uses this psychic close up when
he describes the bullet tearing into Anders brain: the first appearance of the bullet in the cerebrum
set off a crackling chain of ion transports and neurotransmissions (1358). The reader is taken into
the character s very mind and memories to create an extreme sense of proximity and understanding

The Experience Of The Student Nurse Graduate
The experience of the student nurse graduate transition influences the importance as it will become
their desire to continue practising as a registered nurse (Cleary et al. 2011, 2013). Even though the
nursing degree s clinical practice is a compulsory element of the undergraduate nursing program, it
cannot be experienced from a registered nurse perspective, until nursing students have transitioned
to a registered nurse. This imposes a change in roles and different expectations which causes
concerns for student nurse. Buckenham (1994) reports that newly graduated nurses experience

Whilst on clinical placement, I have observed registered nurses go against what is not based on
credible evidence based practice. I have also worked along side registered nurses who have not
liked being questioned on their practice. They demonstrate themselves as role models for
younger generations and a large knowledge in the health care profession. The biggest burdens
discussed in nursing literature that has shown to effects proficiency is that new graduate nurses
have a lack in self confidence (Pfaff, Baxter, Jack, Ploeg, 2014). This affects relationships
between the health care professionals and patients, resulting in a lack of patient advocacy (Pfaff,
Baxter, Jack, Ploeg, 2014). With a lack in self confidence it will affect my ability to make
effective and critical decisions. In order to overcome these challenges, I must commit myself to
learning and keeping up with the advances in the medicine industry (Lima, Newall, Kinney,
Jordan, Hamilton, 2014). Many new graduates may feel under prepared in their transition year,
from starting the heavy workloads of their own patients, shift work and responsibilities associated
with the role as a registered nurse (Duchscher 2001; Chang and Daly 2001; Baillie 1999; Kelly

Docudrama Iron Jawed Angels Analysis
Many believe that the feminist movement started in the 70 s when feminism became more of a
household name, but in reality the feminist movement started with the suffragist movement. The
docudrama Iron Jawed Angels directed by Katja von Garnier in 2004, tells the story of passionate
and remarkable young suffragists, Alice Paul and her friend, Lucy Burns, setting the stage for what
a progressive and determined womanduring this time should look like. Alice and Lucy are two
activists who just arrived from London and are meeting with Carrie Chapman Catta and Anna

women start to get attacked by men while the police stand idly by and let it happen. The younger

newspaper, despite all the negativity that came with it. Even with all the hard work these women
put in, President Wilson does still not see women s suffrage as an important enough issue to be
dealing with right now. With all of this happening, Alice decides it would be best to create a
separate organization of women that is solely dedicated to adding an amendment to the constitution.
This causes the relationship between the more conservative activists and the younger activists to
deteriorate, leading to more trouble within the suffragist movement. Fast forward in the movie and
members of the party begin standing at fence of the White House with a banner stating their
demand for a constitutional amendment. This causes much of the public to turn against the

Nietzschean Values
In my essay I will be discussing three topics from the Nietzschean texts The Gay Science and
Thus Spoke Zarathustra. The three main topics concerning these texts that I will talk about are the
overman , the death of God and the new and old sets of values . Briefly, how these three topics
relate is that once God is dead, (meaning that we do not believe in him anymore), humanity will
have to create new sets of values. These new sets of values will need to have our own meaning
instead of looking to a metaphysical world for truth. I think that the overman , is the men that will
be able to completely abandon the old set of values and create the new ones; he is both a
lawbreaker and a law creator.
First off, I want to talk about the concept ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is the man that will completely eliminate the metaphysical part of his life and move on to a new
era. Nietzsche talks about the overman in his book Thus Spoke Zarathustra when he says: I teach
you the overman. Man is something that shall be overcome. (124). Additionally, Nietzsche
mentions the the overman in another very interesting quotation saying: Man is a rope tied
between beast and overman a rope over an abyss. A dangerous across, a dangerous on the way, a
dangerous looking back, a dangerous shuddering and stopping. What is great in man is that he is a
bridge and not an end... (Nietzsche, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, 126). This quotation tells us that the
modern man is a bridge to becoming the overman but he is scared of what is on the other side.
What that means, is that in order for the modern man to completely abandon the old values and to
overcome the belief in God, he must cross that bridge and become the overman. This quotation
explains to us in an abstract way the challenge that the modern man must overcome in order to
become the

Augmented Reality Essay
The Innovation of Augmented Reality
INTRODUCTION
In recent years, as the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering developed rapidly, many new
technologies and inventions emerged gradually. Among these new technologies, Augmented
Reality (AR) has become a popular technique that is considered to have a large potential for the
future. This paper will indicate the definition of AR and give a brief introduction of its developing
history. It will mainly focus on introducing some different applications of AR technology and give
some instances that these applications of AR have achieved currently. Finally, there will be an
evaluation of the benefits and contributions of AR, which include a discussion of how this
technique influenced the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and society.
A standard definition of AR is given by Azuma (1997) that Augmented Reality(AR) is a variation of
Virtual Reality (VR). This new technology is about augmenting the real world environment with
virtual information to create a mixed reality live view. According to Azuma, there are three
common characteristics of AR: the combination of real world environment and virtual information,
interactive in a real time and the scenes in 3D environment. The first characteristic states that AR
allows the user to see the real world environment combined with the virtual objects. The second
characteristic describes that during the use of AR, all the view and scenes are happening in a real
time, so

Motivation Theories And Motivation Of Employee Motivation...
In organizations all across the world you will find management working diligently to enhance or
maintain productivity. There are many things that can affect productivity, some that are within our
control and some that are not. Employee motivation is something that can directly affect an
organizations production. It is no secret that un motivated employees equates to un productive
workers, but how can we combat this? In order to better understand this concept we will look at the
definition of employee motivation, some of the motivation theories and some motivation techniques
that could be useful in our organizations.
What is employee motivation?
Motivation is a word used quite often in many different scenarios, at work, home, the gym as
well as other places. In order to explore employee motivation, let us first define the term.
According to Spector (2012), motivation is generally defined as an internal state that induces a
person to engage in particular behaviors (p.194). This seems to be some sort of internal pressure
that helps propel us forward in whatever endeavor we might be undertaking at the time. As with
any topic that has been repetitively researched over the years, the word motivation has been
defined in many different ways. In 1981 Kleinginna and Kleinginna documented 140 different
definitions of the word. For the purpose of this research we will be focusing on work or employee
motivation. A very good definition of this concept was developed in 1981by a professor

The entertainment industry is one of the most popular forms of recreational activity for many
people. With the movie industry being a large factor of the entertainment industry, it is no
wonder that roughly $36 million is spent solely on the marketing costs for a movie

these factors can drastically affect whether or not the movie trailer becomes a success and attracts

producers chose to make the viewers feel suspenseful and anxious over the outcome of the

different types of creatures and also hints towards the end of trailer that one of the magical
creatures senses danger (Fantastic). This implies that there might be a bigger problem that is

Essay on Setting in Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle

Nature has a powerful way of portraying good vs. bad, which parallels to the same concept
intertwined with human nature. In the story Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle, the author
portrays this through the use of a lake by demonstrating its significance and relationship to the
characters. At one time, the Greasy Lake was something of beauty and cleanliness, but then came to
be the exact opposite. Through his writing, Boyle demonstrates how the setting can be a direct
reflection of the characters and the experiences they encounter.
The lake itself plays a major role throughout the story, as it mirrors the characters almost exactly.
For example, the lake is described as being fetid and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is ironic that not only is the lake named Greasy Lake, but the individuals who hang out there are
also referred to as being greasy characters as well. The 3 main characters find themselves
surrounded by dangerous characters, and get stuck in the middle of a huge fight. As if things aren
t bad enough, the main characters then attempt to rape a girl that is with the man they just fought.
Very soon after more people show up ready to join in the deviant behavior, all while in the
presence of this dirty, disgusting lake. I d struck down one greasy character, and blundered into the
waterlogged carcass of a second (128). No matter what the main characters do, or how they react to
the conflicts presented, they constantly find themselves in the presence of more greasy characters
at the greasy lake.
The author also makes a connection between the lake and the characters in his use of the word
nature. Fairly early in the story Boyle explains that the characters go to the lake to plunge into the
festering murk, drink beer, smoke pot, howl at the stars which again shows us the connection
between the disgusting lake and the deviant teen boys. (125). Boyle then concludes the paragraph
by saying, This was nature, which describes the attitudes and behaviors of the teenagers that go to
the lake (125). Yet towards

Lady Macbeth first appears in act 1 scene 5. She enters with a soliloquy; reading a letter that she

With the use of superlatives Macbeth refers to Lady Macbeth at the start of his letter as his dearest

thing she says after finishing the letter is that Macbeth has already sustained the titles of Thane of

received the land, they were already cash poor causing them to cheat and to steal what was not
theirs. Penns sons hired men to cover the distance of the land so they could get clear title for it.
With a clear title, Thomas and James could sell off the land however they deemed fit. Whereas...

Even though the land was given to Sir William Penn by Charles II, it was never recorded or
measured off. This presented a problem for William Penn, Native Americans and his sons. In this
era the land would have been measured by how far a man could walk in day and a half (Graham
288). Penns son Thomas had other plans for the land that his father would have frowned upon. So
he hired sprinters to come in and walk the distance of the land but desiring more land than what was
already agreed upon, he cheated the Lenape. Thomas was so obsessed with money he could make
off the land that he got the Pennsylvanians to run the Indians off the land. The Lenape because of
this became bitter and hurt which eventually shattered the tribe. The final outcome for the
Pennsylvania Walking Purchase changed the course of history. William Penn s vision of a city
that was ruled by good faith and a seventh century Quakerism failed to exist. During the building
process the Native Americans felt like Penn s promise to them was broken and they cut ties with
him. His vision of the city was hoped to bring peace among the people. So he named it Philadelphia
, which meant the city of Brotherly

Christ Birth Research Paper
Christmas is arguably the biggest holiday in the western world. It is the holiday that brings forth
the spirt of joy, giving s and love. Christmas is also the year that brings forth remembrance of
Jesus Christ s birth. However, the nativity story, the story of Christ birth, has much more meaning
to it then what people reflect on it as. When the Nativity story is told it seems the main focus or the
happy ending is always the savior birth. That arguably is not what the Bible fully attended the focus
to remain on. The Nativity story is more than just a story about Christbirth; it is a metaphor that
paints the picture of the two people s faith in God and ultimately the gospel in a nutshell. Many

Mary knew that Joseph would most likely leave her due to her mysteries pregnancy and a
tarnished reputation. Although, those things are very important factors to look at when
considering the risk Mary took, when she accepted to birth the Messiah, the most significate risk
Mary had taken was the endangerment of her own life. According to the Old Testament law, if a
women failed to remain physically pure before marriage she would be brought to the door of her
father s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath
wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father s house: so shalt thou put evil away from
among you. And if the women was betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and
lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them
with stones that they die. Again, Mary knew the challenges she had to face. She had nothing but
a story of an angel to give to Joseph and the towns people. The possibility of Joseph and the
towns people believing that Mary, a poor servant, miraculously became pregnant by the Holy Spirit
is as slim as it would be now. In fact, most would conclude that Mary was covering up an immoral
relationship with Roman soldier. Yet, Mary kept the same attitude that her son had in Gethsemane
when He prayed, not my will, but thine, be done. Regardless,

Automobile Safety Essay
People in developed countries all over the world have come to see automobiles as the preferred
way to travel. They allow independence: point to point transportation without having to rely on
others to get where we want to go, to do what we want to do. Long range travel and short range
travel can be undertaken whenever one desires, either alone or with other people. Citizens of the
modern world must often wonder how people ever lived without automobiles. To think that human
beings once traveled everywhere by foot or on horseback is not just a humorous idea to reminisce;
it is foreign concept that would not allow the social and business cultureof today to exist.
It is almost as foreign a concept that early automobiles were driven ... Show more content on

Simple mistakes, that everyone makes, can lead to great harm. Even the most cautious and agile
driver cannot avoid every possible stalled car, unexpected furniture, careless cell phone user, stray
animal, unexpected construction, or drunken driver on the road.
Automobiles are therefore a huge source of potential injury, and even death. In the year 2001
alone, 37, 795 people lost their lives in automobile accidents in the United States. That is more
people than the populations of many small cities in America. In fact, that is over ten times more
lives lost than were lost in the horrible attack on the World Trade Center in 2001! On top of that,
over two million people were injured in automobile accidents in the same time frame.3 Neither of
these numbers includes the thousands of pedestrians who are killed or injured every year by
automobiles.
Given the risks involved in the use of automobiles much consideration should be given to how to
best make automobiles safer for humans. Often times, however, safety is not the first consideration
in automobile design. Some automobile manufacturers do not even look carefully at safety
considerations until a new product is sent down the crash test line and adjusted until it makes
government safety requirements. On the other hand, some manufacturers start car design with
safety as their first priority.

Slap Tear
SLAP Lesion Tear
A SLAP lesion tear is an injury to the shoulder. This can cause painful symptoms and difficulty
with overhead activities whether they be athletic or those of daily living. In 1985, Andrews et al
were the first to describe the superior labrum tear. In their experience, they identified tears of the
labrum from throwing athletes located anterosuperor near the origin of the bicep tendon. The
cause of the lesion to tear was the bicep tendon being pulled off the labrum from the force
generated during the throwing motion. As time went on, the labral tears got categorized into four
different types of classifications called SLAP lesions by Snyder in 1990. A SLAP lesion, as
described by Snyder involves tears of the superior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
SLAP lesion can develop due to the repetitive forces of the throwing motion. Athletes that are
involved in overhead activities tend to develop a struggle in glenohumeral internal rotation. Both
internal impingement and peel back mechanisms can cause that to happen.
Walch et al first described the internal impingement as an intraarticular impingement of the rotator
cuff in the abducted and externally rotated shoulder. With 90 degrees of both abduction and external
rotation, the articular surface of the posterior superior rotator cuff becomes pinched between the
labrum and the greater tuberosity.5 The authors separated the labral lesions from SLAP lesions
which extended anteriorly to the biceps anchor at the supraglenoid tubercle, concluding that internal
impingement may be responsible for a subset of patients with isolated posterior SLAP tears.5
Burkhart et. al presented the peel back (posterior superior) mechanism that causes SLAP lesions.
The peel back has its origin in a biceps vector change in the position of abduction and external
rotation resulting in torsional forces to the labra bicipital complex.6 Once the posterior superior
labrum gets fatigued, it will start to rotate medially over the upper rim of the glenoid. This could
happen in a late cocking position of

Death And The Black Death
Imagine peering out your window on a hot summer day. Gazing up at the sky and seeing an eye
scorching, glorious sunset. Then you see the blood and oozing scabs covering 3 out of every 10
of all your friends and family member bodies. What would you do if this monstrous disease called
The Black Death was taking over your village? Well, this very tragic event in history did, in fact,
happen. The Black Deathstarted to take over the world around 1347 and originated in China. It
tested the villager s emotions and abilities to do what s right in hard times. The disease pulled on
their tender heartstring and ripped them apart. The Muslim and Christian religious reactions to
this tragic situation were more different than alike. Some people were being helpful and generous
to the sick, while others were taking advantage of the dying people. What would you do if this
monstrous disease called The Black Death was taking over your village? During The Black Death,
the Christian and Muslim religious reactions were more different than alike. The author of a
primary source written in 1348 called Cronaca Senese (3A) is named Agnolo di Tura (The Fat). The
author states, Father abandoned child, wife, husband, one brother another . This quote is one
representation of how the Christians reacted to the black death. Christians left there friends and
even family members in the dust. Christians were more worried about surviving themselves and

On Life After Death Essay
Bereavement is an issue that affects families all across the world. It is often hard for parents and
families to comfort bereaved children as they are grieving too. Grieving parents many times feel
like they are losing their minds (Dickens). But if parents are actively involved in helping their
child s healing process then children can learn coping flexibility and resilience and can deal with
their griefin healthy ways. However numerous parents are too emotionally wrought to comprehend
the grief of their remaining children (Dickens). They, as well as other family members, experience
symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and complicated Greif as they struggle to cope with

The Creation of Shelter in Pre-Colonial North Australia...
The Creation Of Shelter In Pre Colonial Far North Australia And New Zealand
Shelter has always been a necessity for mankind. We, as humans, have a relationship with the land
that we must respect to live happily amongst it. Spaning back as far as the pre Colonial Australia,
indigenous Australians understood this connection excellently. Their shelters seemed to bend with
the land as they understood crucial elements within the architecture to compensate for distinctive
climate and cultural factors to fit their nomadic lifestyle. Their living style was very minimalistic
yet practical. The indigenous Australians only built what they needed to survive. For evidence of
this, we will be looking at the text; Gunyah, Goondie and Wurley: the ... Show more content on

Similar to conservation of food and environment, their architectural style was also minimalistic.
The far north indigenous tribes of Australia centralised their camps and villages in the proximity
of a running stream. This ensured that their food sources weren t toxic plants, that they had an
abundance of riverine species such as crayfish, eels and fish, the construction of earth oven with
river sand and rock for manufacturing nutcrackers and axes7. These sorts of villages were
constructed quite permanently to facilitate older relatives in a cool and providing place whist
other tribe members continued to move from place to place8. Building near a stream was a
sustainable idea as the surrounding area was far less dense, they didn t need to clear much spaces
to build a camp. They would aim for places with much sun light to escape the constant wet
environment of the rainforest.9 They had to take care that the ground was semi elevated to ensure
the camp was not flood prone, that the river they were camped next to would not rise too much. In
these base camps, more permanent dome structures were built. The indigenous understood the
different between structures that would support them for longer periods of time and that of a
nomadic lifestyle. Similarly, the early settlements of the first New Zealanders were often at
harbors or the mouths of rivers which were close to the sea. This provided them with good access to

The Telecommunications Act Of 1996
President Bill Clinton created the Telecommunications Act of 1996 to promote fair competition in
the United States telecommunications market. President Clinton s goal was to establish an open
market so that any business can compete in the telecommunications field. Since the creation of the
Telecommunications Act, there has been a bevy of radio and televisionmergers. One can safely say
that with all the recent mergers, some companies have become monopolies in their respective
fields. The Telecommunications Act primary focus is to help businesses compete against other
businesses so that the consumer can reap the benefits of lower prices for services, a wider

The Act will prevent a single broadcast group owner from dominating the national media market
(The American Presidency Project, 2016). The problem with this statement is that in today s
society this is not true. Currently, 90 percent of the media is owned by just six companies:
Viacom, News Corporation, CBS, Comcast, Disney, and Time Warner (Corcoran, 2016). These
six companies shape global political views and cover Presidential elections in America. AT T
whom which currently owns Directv has now purchased Time Warner Inc. (De la Merced, 2016).
This purchase is still pending approval from the Federal Communications Commission and the
United States Department of Justice (James, 2017). AT T would own HBO, Cartoon Network,
Boomerang, Turner Classic Movies, TNT, TBS, Tru TV, SNY, Peachtree TV, and The CW. AT T
would sell cable service and own cable content. The interesting thing about AT T is that they were
the sole provider of telephone service in the United States. An anti trust lawsuit broke up the Bell
system phone companies to relinquish the monopoly that AT T had on phone service (New
America, 2010).
The Telecommunications Act of 1996 creates one huge problem? The Telecommunications Act of
1996 doesn t allow fair competition; it enables large Media companies to become conglomerates.

Debating the Topics Monism and Vedanta Essay
Monism and Vedanta Philosophical way on humanity, for centuries philosophers have debated on
a topic called Monism. Monists hold the principle that being is purely based upon one critic
category of being this means that either the person is made up of only the body or only the mind
(Morris). Because Animists, Hindus, and Buddhists believe that reality is one and that everything
that exists is a functioning part of that whole which is spirit are for the most part monists. Western
people for the most part may be called a monist also as they believe that God is dead and matter is
the only substance to reality. As a consequence, monismis the claim that mindand matter essentially

Behaviorist, B.F.Skinner, claims that someone is thirsty because they drink, not because they

basic behavior change, as a result of chemical use, brain injuries. And with all this mounting
evidence there are many people who believe that there are no NON PHYSICAL MINDS, and that
we only have BRAINS, and these people are called Monist. The Upanishads is called the ultimate
reality Brahman. It means the ultimate reality that is behind the universe and all the gods. The
Upanishads describe Brahman as the eternal, the conscious, and infinite. Some pantheist thinkers
consider that devotion is nothing but an easier path towards reaching the same remote union
with the impersonal Ultimate Reality, towards attaining the death of personhood, the main
source of illusion which is called Maya. Maya being the biggest illusion of reality, it makes a
person Avidya or in simple language ignorant. It is explained in the Upanishads that Moksha is
the most important factor, because it is called the freedom, it brings a person to a point in life
where they don t need to reincarnate because they have reached the high aspire of life, and got
Moksha (simple words free from the world). Samasara (world) is the cycle of death and life and

Analysis and Historical Context from Second Treatise of...
COMMENTARY OF SECOND TREATISE OF CIVIL GOVERNMENT : The previous
fragment we ve read belongs to the work of John Locke, Second Treatise of Civil Government ,
who published it anonymously in 1689. It is a work of political philosophy, in which Locke talks
about civil society, natural rights and separation of powers. Locke was one of the first empirical
philosophers and he believed that the human being was born with no knowledge, and that
experience and observation were the base of all human wisdom. In the text, Locke talks about how
powers should be separated and not concentrated in the same person (the King) because he would
be tempted, and in fact it was happening, to use them just to satisfy his desires. Locke also says that

The Restoration of 1660, by restoring crown, church and lords, put Englishmen back once more
under a system of government proven unworkable. With a king on the throne who still wanted
to govern, and a group of dissatisfied men in parliament who wanted his government to be
controlled by them, conflict was hard to avoid. But the civilian revolution did not happen until
after Charles II s death in 1685. King Charles was succeeded by his brother James, who became
James II of England and VII of Scotland. James is best known for his belief in absolute
monarchy and his attempts to create religious liberty for his subjects against the wishes of the
English Parliament. Increasingly members of Britain s political and religious elite opposed
him as too pro French, too pro Catholic, and too much of an absolute monarch. When he
produced a Catholic heir, the tension exploded and leading nobles called on William III of
Orange (his son in law and nephew) to land an invasion army from the Netherlands. James fled
England (and thus abdicated) in the Glorious Revolution of 1688. He was replaced by William of
Orange who became king as William III, ruling jointly with his wife (James s daughter) Mary II.
Thus William and Mary, both Protestants, became joint rulers in 1689. Parliament issued the Bill of
Rights, which stipulated the rights and obligations of the monarch. William and Mary reigned
jointly till 1694 when Mary died. Then, William continued to reign alone. He died

The Importance Of Renewable Energy
Renewable energy, what is it ? To put it simply, it s a type of energy source that is eco friendly
and for the most part efficient. Fossil fuels such as gasoline, oil, methane gas, and other harmful
energy sources will only aggravate earth s health and will inevitably affect our biosphere and
atmosphere, in which we humans reside. There is nothing inherently wrong with this issue but
can seriously be spoken more and enforced upon society, for the sake of humanity. It will take
centuries before we can consider colonizing other planets and have humans living on them. We are
unfortunately not there yet technologically speaking. All we can do is prolong earth s life before
that happens, which will take some time. According to scientists, earth is approximately 4.3 billion
years old, which is a long time, but as time progressed we humans kept finding ways to harm the
earth at an exponential rate. In some cases we have also caused the extinction of many species that
once inhabited earth. Some countries and certain states have started to take note of these trends and
started to implement public policy and also have come up with new ways to combat this.
Renewable energyis one of the best options at the moment and will hopefully make our earth a
better place, literally. Many people go about their day always concerned about the political
spectrum, which is fine, but the issues that accompany earth such as climate change are always
swept under the rug and never heard of again.

  • 2. What Is South Park Oxymoron For South Park to be a cartoon and the main characters are drawn as children, its provides not on irony but an oxymoron as well. Its purpose is to appeal male audience as well. I believe it is a balance for a man who still loves cartoons who does not want to watch shows such as Pokemon . South Park is an adult cartoon that caters to the inner childof older viewers who watch it. Notable television review companies such as TV.com, IMDb, and Common Sense Media rated South Park highly. TV.com gave it a 9/10, IMDb 0 and Common Sense rated it 4/5. Each scale based on different factors. It is at your discretion which source you believe is more factual ; however, there is one data base s scale that stood out to me the most. Common Sense is a leading ... • 3. Yams And Symbolism In Things Fall Apart By Chinua Achebe Emphasized throughout the novel, we see the chi of a person determining whether they will receive a good yam harvest for the year or not. Thus, in order to maintain a good chi, men within Ibo pay respects to the earth goddess Ani, through the Feast of the New Yam. Spiritually, the earth goddess overlooks and distributes successful harvests to men in Ibo. Physically, men are in charge of harvesting their own crops to ensure a successful harvest. Hence, throughout Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebeutilizes symbolism through yams and motifs through the earth goddess and the chi of a person to emphasize one of the overarching themes of the novel: wealth, respect, and power. Throughout the novel, it is emphasized that the more yams a man is able to successfully grow, the richer in respect and wealth he is to become. Thus, Unoka s inability to grow a successful harvest makes him known for the weakness of [his] machete and hoe (Achebe 17). In turn, Unoka s lack of strength and wealth causes the earth goddess to feel a disgrace towards him. And, when a man does not appear to have worked for his family s well being, he is not allowed to die in his house (Achebe 18). As a result, we see Unoka dying in isolation to the world because his chi states that he is not worthy of the respect of his community. Unlike his father Unoka, Okonkwo works towards the respect of his people. By planting crops specifically yams, Okonkwo takes on a great pride towards his doings as it represents a ... • 4. A Zombie Apocalypse In the event of a zombie apocalypse everything in this world would change. Society will not be the same, the norms society once had will be different. Governments would like to establish social control but the environment would be too chaotic to control. A survival mode would be establish by everybody, everybody would be by themselves, and only protect their own. Resources would be the new currency, because paper money would no longer have value, but a resources will. Governments would like to establish social order, but the people would not trust the government anymore. Deviance will not have meaning; everything will be acceptable in order to survive in the zombie apocalypse. Stealing, murdering, assassinating, fighting, and total disaster is expected from this environment. If an individual needs food for its family and goes to the supermarket, and he is denied the food, that individual will be fighting to get food for its family. Law enforcement would be trying to enforce the law but they too will be in trouble. An individual needing something in order to survive would kill anybody, including a law enforcement officer. Policewould realize that their life is in danger and stop serving the government, if this happens who would enforce order? This would be the start of a chaotic environment. The wealthy would try to buy resources or services but their paper backed money will no longer be accepted why? Because there would be no government establishing order or a system, ... King Lear is a timeless piece of thought provoking drama. Shakespeare s genius has ensured that it continues to resonate with audiences over 400 years after being written. It depicts intriguing aspects of human nature that are still relevant today. These include corruption, deception, and filial strife. Shakespeare also portrays a cast of excellently drawn characters to engage the audience throughout while simultaneously personifying virtue, evil, and hubris. This excellent play which continues to resonate with modern audiences is most spectacular for the fact that it is a beautifully crafted piece of drama throughout. ... This allows them a deeper understanding of the plot and each character themselves. Edmund uses soliloquy throughout, initially outlining his Machiavellian intentions when saying Wherefore should I stand in the plague of custom? This engages the audience and offers them an insight into how the play will unfold. Cordelia also talks in soliloquy as she professes her desire to aid her father, Restoration hang thy medicine upon my lips and let this kiss repair those harms that my sister in thy reverence have made . The importance of soliloquy and it s contribution to the play is shown by the modern drama House of Cards in which it is also employed. It engages the audience and ensures that they enjoy the play and never lose interest as they are given a 3rd dimension into the characters and an intimate understanding of their ... • 6. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Membrane Contactors Abstract Since the advent of membrane contactors as means of separation alternative to conventional techniques of separation, such as distillation towers, packed bed towers, research has been done on membranes so as to industrialize the whole process for large plants. The membrane contactors provide significant advantage over the more traditional separation tools and hence, are being increasingly used. The researchers have, though, realized a major disadvantage associated with membrane contactors. The membrane used for liquid gas or liquid liquid contact undergoes a phenomenon, referred to as wetting, which primarily involves the liquid entering the pores of the membrane in the gas liquid separation (or either of the two liquids in the case ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The traditional mass transfer equipment has been known to have several disadvantages such as flooding, weeping, entrainment, channeling, etc. Further, the above mentioned operational problems were in addition to the technical scale up problems that were faced while the installation of such equipment. The preparation prior to industrial set up generally required designing, appropriate small scale testing, pilot plant testing and finally industrial scale test, before the system went into operation. Such elaborate preparations required large amount of capital as well as physical space as the separation equipment, is most generally extremely large and occupies huge area. The introduction of membrane separators was a major breakthrough as the membrane separation techniques do away with all such problems. The membrane separators generally have a very high selectivity for a particular component (which is aimed to be separated) in the absorption process, as well as they are compact and modular, which essentially means that the scale up is not an issue with the membrane separators. Their other advantages include very high surface to volume ratio, which can also be calculated (whereas in columns, such as distillation or packed column, contact surface area is unknown and cannot be estimated), and are flexible in operation as they separate gas liquid flows which can be independently controlled as well as ... • 7. Imal A Short Story Sunlight streamed down on the desert surface as just under the sands, bruised knuckles punched through the flimsy wooden top of a makeshift coffin. As the dirt poured into the closed space, the unfortunate person inside packed the dirt towards her feet and the sides of the rectangular box. After enough sand and dirt was freed, the woman sat forward and crawled up and out, using her upper body strength to pull her out of her own sandy grave. As she stood up, blinking in the blaring heat, the woman, Imala, gripped her shawl down to cover her dark skin from the sun. Her long dark hair was pulled into a braid, easy for her cowboy hat to sit atop her head. Upon feeling the sun s heat on the top of her head, she cursed in Apache. Where s my hat? ... He cried out in pain and she tackled both him and Sebastian out of the door, off the train. Forgotten in the fight, Eli got up, appearing stunned and realized he now had to take the controls. Meanwhile, the skirmish continued outside while the three figures rolled out onto the desert sands with a thud. Imala was still outgunned, but now Eli could take the train back to Grace. You ve really done it now, missy. The bossattempted to get up, but Sebastian decked her across the face for him. He pulled out his gun and aimed it at her, but the criminal started shouting. • 8. A Report On Cystic Fibrosis Cystic Fibrosis Cystic fibrosis is described as a congenital disorder affecting exocrine gland function, with respiratory effects, including excessive secretions, obstruction of the bronchial system, infection, and tissue damage (Kowalczyk, 2014). Cystic fibrosis is also known as CF, and is the most common lethal disease in white children (Kowalczyk, 2014). People whom have CF have histologically normal lungs at birth. Lung damage occurs when secretions from the enlarged bronchial glands gradually increase; this leads to the obstruction of the bronchial system (Kowalczyk, 2014). Mucus clogs the airways and this plugging promotes infection such as staph which causes more tissue damage; it also causes atelectasis and emphysema. Once this destructive cycle starts, it is very difficult to stop and ultimately results in respiratory failure (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation). Doctors will follow the diseases progression by chest x ray; it will show the gradual worsening of structural abnormalities (Kowalczyk, 2014). CF does not just affect the respiratory system, but also affects the exocrine system. Parts of the exocrine system affected are salivary glands, the small bowel, pancreas, biliary tract, a female s cervix, and the male genital system (Kowalczyk, 2014). The mucus in the pancreas stops the release of digestive enzymes; these digestive enzymes are imperative for the body to break down food and absorb nutrients (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation). Mucus can also cause liver ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But what if another year of education was added back to the four year program and it assisted students with their high schoolexperience? Since 2003, Toronto high schools have removed the fifth year of the high school program but people have spoken about bringing back the extra year to help students with course averages, stress and decrease the dropout rate. It gives them time to relax from other sources of stress like increased work load. It is said that having academic courses will help students stay on task and become persistent because of the increased amount of work they need to complete, however, an abundance school work can cause extreme stress and/or anxiety. If a student were to have a course schedule of Physics, biology, Chemistry, Advanced functions, Calculus and French, he/she would need some time to relax in a day and express themselves thorough one of their interests, so they may choose to take an arts course (i.e. Drama, Dance, Media Studies, etc.) or join a club or activity. The five year high school program can help with improving a student s overall average which will later be of value to them when applying to post secondary schools. A student with a lower grade average in their final year of highs school will have a smaller chance of getting accepted into the university /college program of their choice whereas a student with a higher average during their final high school year will have a greater chance of being accepted into university/college program of their choice. The Black Panthers For Self Defense The Black Panthers, originally named as the Black Panthers for Self Defense, was an African American revolutionary party that had originated in Oakland, California. It was an organization that was founded by Huey Percy Newton and Bobby Seale in 1966. Not only that, but it was also the largest revolutionary organization that had ever existed. Their purpose was to protect fellow African American residents from mistreatment from the authorities. During the 1960s, racial injust had spreaded throughout the nation and many suffered through economic and social inequality. In addition, this party, or organization, was only active in the United States from 1966 when it was created, up until 1989. Learning about the Black Panthers Party helped us put in perspective the way African Americans had lived during the time of racial prejudice. The topics that we will be focusing on will be about Huey Percy Newton, Bobby Seale and the organization itself, which was the Black Panther Party. Huey Percy Newton was an African American activist who was credited for finding, or establishing, the Black Panther Party, which was a revolutionary party. Not only being founder of this organization, but he was also a big leading power for this black power movement, created in 1960s. Newton was born on February 17, 1942, in Monroe, Louisiana. I agree with the first part because America should have won the Vietnam War as they are very powerful. They had chemicals such as Agent Orange and Napalm which was special. Regular Napalm just sets fire to things which can be put out with water or by taking the oxygen away. The American s developed it so that it could burn without oxygen which created devastating effects. People rolled on the ground but it continued to burn through their body and it still burnt people when they jumped in water. I do disagree that the American s were better trained. They were better trained in conventional warfare and had a lot of experience from World War II. But the Vietcong matched this. They were better trained than the American s but not in conventional warfare. They were experts in guerrilla warfare which proved vital in their defeat on the USA. • 22. Temptation Is An Unavoidable Part Of Life Temptation is an unavoidable part of life that has been around since the creation of the world and man. After the creation of man, God placed him in the Garden of Eden, and gave him dominion over the Garden and everything in it. The only command given to man, by God, was to not eat from one particular tree or he would die. In an act of rebellion against God, Satan approached Eve and persuaded her to eat from the tree that God forbade them from eating. This persuasion included lying to Eve about dying and that they would be like God (Genesis 3:4 5, NIV). On top of the lies, the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye (Genesis 3:6, NIV). Satan placed Eve in a situation where she gave in to her desires, lust for the fruit, envy and greed to be like God, these are the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Just because Satan tempted Eve does not mean that she sinned, temptation is not to be equated with sin(Towns, The Essential Element of Sin, 2002). Eve acted on her desires and ate the forbidden fruit. She in turn, led Adam to eat from the tree. This act of defiance, by Adam and Eve, against God resulting from the temptation and deception, by Satan, led to the original sinand to the fall of man. The fall of man resulted in the spiritual separation of man from God. The plan to force President Madison to surrender was a three part invasion. One force would attack the north, coming in through Lake Champlain, sailing down the Hudson River and advancing into New York. The second force would strike the Chesapeake area and capture Washington and Baltimore. The third would advance into New Orleans through the Gulf of Mexico and take control of the Mississippi River. Though the attack on the Chesapeake was planned as a distraction to the other two parts of the plan, the militias in Maryland fell so easily to the British that they kept advancing in that area. First, the British marched into the capital, Washington D.C., trampled the American soldiers attempting to halt them, and set fire to all of the important buildings, including the President s Mansion, the Capital, and US Treasury. The tragedy fogged the Americans sight of victory but did not dampen the soldiers spirits and will to defeat the military super power. Next, the British moved on to Baltimore, a busy trading port and a source of well built warships. General George Armistead commanded Fort McHenry, Baltimore s blockade to incoming attackers. Armistead rallied the residents of the city to build fortifications and join the ranks in the fort. He ordered a giant flag to be sewn to show the British that Baltimore was ready to fight. He continues to lead the reader by using third person limited point of view to describe a typical bank and to only depict Anders personality. This technique allows Wolff to control the reader s involvement with the characterand the overall ho hum story, up to this point. Then, Wolff suddenly shifts the psychic distance, changes to third person omniscient, and lets the reader view the character s last thoughts. Augmented Reality Essay The Innovation of Augmented Reality INTRODUCTION In recent years, as the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering developed rapidly, many new technologies and inventions emerged gradually. Among these new technologies, Augmented Reality (AR) has become a popular technique that is considered to have a large potential for the future. This paper will indicate the definition of AR and give a brief introduction of its developing history. It will mainly focus on introducing some different applications of AR technology and give some instances that these applications of AR have achieved currently. Finally, there will be an evaluation of the benefits and contributions of AR, which include a discussion of how this technique influenced the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and society. A standard definition of AR is given by Azuma (1997) that Augmented Reality(AR) is a variation of Virtual Reality (VR). This new technology is about augmenting the real world environment with virtual information to create a mixed reality live view. • 34. Motivation Theories And Motivation Of Employee Motivation... In organizations all across the world you will find management working diligently to enhance or maintain productivity. There are many things that can affect productivity, some that are within our control and some that are not. Employee motivation is something that can directly affect an organizations production. It is no secret that un motivated employees equates to un productive workers, but how can we combat this? In order to better understand this concept we will look at the definition of employee motivation, some of the motivation theories and some motivation techniques that could be useful in our organizations. What is employee motivation? Motivation is a word used quite often in many different scenarios, at work, home, the gym as well as other places. In order to explore employee motivation, let us first define the term. According to Spector (2012), motivation is generally defined as an internal state that induces a person to engage in particular behaviors (p.194). This seems to be some sort of internal pressure that helps propel us forward in whatever endeavor we might be undertaking at the time. As with any topic that has been repetitively researched over the years, the word motivation has been defined in many different ways. In 1981 Kleinginna and Kleinginna documented 140 different definitions of the word. For the purpose of this research we will be focusing on work or employee motivation. A very good definition of this concept was developed in 1981by a professor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Coraghessan Boyle Nature has a powerful way of portraying good vs. bad, which parallels to the same concept intertwined with human nature. In the story Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle, the author portrays this through the use of a lake by demonstrating its significance and relationship to the characters. At one time, the Greasy Lake was something of beauty and cleanliness, but then came to be the exact opposite. Through his writing, Boyle demonstrates how the setting can be a direct reflection of the characters and the experiences they encounter. No matter what the main characters do, or how they react to the conflicts presented, they constantly find themselves in the presence of more greasy characters at the greasy lake. The author also makes a connection between the lake and the characters in his use of the word nature. Fairly early in the story Boyle explains that the characters go to the lake to plunge into the festering murk, drink beer, smoke pot, howl at the stars which again shows us the connection between the disgusting lake and the deviant teen boys. Penn was willed the land by his father, Sir William Penn, before he died. However, the land was never surveyed or officially placed in William Penns name so it became chaos for him and his heirs. Penn had ideas on how he wanted to govern the land but ran into issues along the way. When Penns sons received the land, they were already cash poor causing them to cheat and to steal what was not theirs. This presented a problem for William Penn, Native Americans and his sons. In this era the land would have been measured by how far a man could walk in day and a half (Graham 288). Penns son Thomas had other plans for the land that his father would have frowned upon. So he hired sprinters to come in and walk the distance of the land but desiring more land than what was already agreed upon, he cheated the Lenape. Thomas was so obsessed with money he could make off the land that he got the Pennsylvanians to run the Indians off the land. The Lenape because of this became bitter and hurt which eventually shattered the tribe. The final outcome for the Pennsylvania Walking Purchase changed the course of history. Athletes that are involved in overhead activities tend to develop a struggle in glenohumeral internal rotation. Both internal impingement and peel back mechanisms can cause that to happen. With 90 degrees of both abduction and external rotation, the articular surface of the posterior superior rotator cuff becomes pinched between the labrum and the greater tuberosity.5 The authors separated the labral lesions from SLAP lesions which extended anteriorly to the biceps anchor at the supraglenoid tubercle, concluding that internal impingement may be responsible for a subset of patients with isolated posterior SLAP tears.5 Burkhart et. al presented the peel back (posterior superior) mechanism that causes SLAP lesions. The peel back has its origin in a biceps vector change in the position of abduction and external rotation resulting in torsional forces to the labra bicipital complex.6 Once the posterior superior labrum gets fatigued, it will start to rotate medially over the upper rim of the glenoid. Fossil fuels such as gasoline, oil, methane gas, and other harmful energy sources will only aggravate earth s health and will inevitably affect our biosphere and atmosphere, in which we humans reside. There is nothing inherently wrong with this issue but can seriously be spoken more and enforced upon society, for the sake of humanity. It will take centuries before we can consider colonizing other planets and have humans living on them. We are unfortunately not there yet technologically speaking. All we can do is prolong earth s life before that happens, which will take some time. According to scientists, earth is approximately 4.3 billion years old, which is a long time, but as time progressed we humans kept finding ways to harm the earth at an exponential rate. In some cases we have also caused the extinction of many species that once inhabited earth. Some countries and certain states have started to take note of these trends and started to implement public policy and also have come up with new ways to combat this.
