The Effects Of Lithium Batteries On Medical Devices
Introduction
With the rise in the aging population, there has been an increase in demand for implanted
medical devices, such as pacemakers. Approximately, 70% to 80% of all pacemakers are
implanted in people 65 years old or over (Bradshaw, Stobie, knuiman, Briffa, 2014). Lithium
batteries have dominated as the main source of energy for implantable medical devices. The
limitations of lithium batteries have become apparent. The batteries have a limited energy
capacity; therefore, this limits its use in smaller devices, which in terms reduces its lifetime. Due
to the short lifetime of these batteries, they must be replaced every so often (Rasouli Phee, 2010).
The need to replace and recharge batteries leads to surgeries and discomfort for ... Show more

In 1998, Paradiso implemented this into the creation of a prototype shoe. The heel of the shoe
had a spring magnetic generator. Each time the person walked approximately 1 watt was
produced. The disadvantages were that the person had to have the ability to walk and it caused
discomfort. Additional adjustments were made to the idea as the years progressed. In 2001,
Paradiso placed the piezoelectric elements on the heel and under the toes. Kornbluh placed them on
the heel of both shoes (Hannan et al., 2014). But, each one faced the issue of the patient needing
the ability to walk.
Electrostatic Energy
Electrostatic generators use electrostatic induction to produce electricity. It converts mechanical
vibrations into electricity by moving the transducer in against the electrical field. The conversion
occurs with either fixed charge or fixed voltage. This method is adequate for micro implanted
devices that use low power (Hannan et al., 2014).
Magnetic Induction Generator
There are two types of magnetic induction generators. One based on relative motion where the
generator is fixed. Another, that uses body motion. In the second case, the generator is installed
with the inertia force of the weight. Hoska conducted an investigation comparing the two types
(Hnnan et al., 2014). He found that the second less vulnerable to constant movements and more
vulnerable to vibratory movements, which can be explained due to the fact that the second type
uses inertia.

Marvel Film Captain Americ The Winter Soldier
Imagine a world where superheroes were real. Marvel has been winding tales much like these for
years, inspiring both the young and the old, since 1939. They created their own storyline
combining current topics and events and adding a dash of somewhat mystical pizzazz that is not
only gripping but intriguing. In their world you follow superheroes through their lives, learning
their stories and not only understanding them on the level of a super but on a personal level.
There are iconic superhero figures that most would recognize like Captain America and Iron Man.
These two were partners at one time, fighting side by side in the league known as the Avengerswho
fought and saved New York from an alien invasion. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe... Show

When Steve and Bucky head to the airport to follow a lead Tony s team intercepts them causing
a fight. By the end of the fight most are wounded and almost all of Team Captain America is
detained and sent to a federal prison. Bucky and Steve did manage to escape and find that it was
Zemo who had staged the bombing and set up Bucky. When this evidence comes to life Tony
tracks down Bucky and Steve to try and make amends for what had transpired earlier. Zemo was
not done trying to ruin Bucky, he then shows old footage of Bucky killing Tony s parents while he
was still being controlled for HYDRA.
This prompts the last battle of the movie with Tony going after Bucky. Unable to let his best friend
die, Steve jumps into save Bucky. The battle ends with Bucky missing his arm and Steve along with
Tony near death.
Captain America: Civil War ends with Bucky being cryogenically frozen and Steve breaking his
friends out of jail. Steve did write a letter to Tony stating that if the world needed it he, along with
the others, would be back to help fight for it but under no other circumstances was Tony hearing
from them. This could mean the end of the Avengers and possibly a split in the superhero
community. If the panel does end up going through that also means more regulations on the
superheroes that are out

The House Of The Importance Of The North York Moors
This section is probably the most demanding part of the Way, it traverses the northern
escarpment of the North York Moors, crossing a series of valley s which drain the moorland
pastures. On a clear day, the scenery is beautiful and invigorating, but there are few places to
shelter if the weather turns foul. Lord Stones Country Park is the only watering hole, en route, so
take sufficient rations. Our journey resumes from the market cross, and within a few minutes, we
have two optional detours to consider, one to Lady Chapel and another to Mount Grace Priory.
Both will incur extra time and distance. The Priory, founded in 1398 by Thomas de Holand, the
nephew of Richard II, bears the illustrious title of The House of the Assumption of the... Show more

It s actually a very simple quantitative stock ranking scheme. It uses return on capital and earnings
yield as inputs. Return on capital is the metric that shows whether a business is a good one or
not. Earnings yield is the metric that shows whether a company is cheap or not. Greenblatt
suggests using these measures to identify good but cheap businesses, and buy them. That s the
secret behind the magic formula . In The Little Book That Beats The Market, Greenblatt
calculated hypothetical returns for the 1988 2004 period. The magic formula returned an average
30.8% per year, while the market return was 12.3% and the S P 500 returned an average 12.4%. So
this formula beats the market by 18% per year.
The two things he looks at are earnings yield, which is how cheap the company is. A simple
earnings yield would be the inverse of the P/E ratio or earnings to price. So, in other words, if
something earned $2 and it cost you $10 a share, you d have a 20% earnings yield.
It uses a more sophisticated metric than just earnings, than just price. But the concept is the same. It
uses EBIT earnings before interest and taxes and compares that to enterprise value, which is the
market value of a company s stock plus the long term debt that a company has. That adjusts for
companies that have

To Kill A Mockingbird A Classic Analysis
In what ways is Harper Lee s To kill a mockingbird a classic by Emma Chen
In her book To Kill a Mockingbird ,Harper Lee incorporates many elements of classic literature
into the text ,making every reading just as treasured and meaningful as the first . Through her work
,she passes on the essence of her time ,as well as a rather relatable insight into human morals .
Italo Calvino suggests that classics are those books which come to us bearing the aura of previous
interpretations ,and trailing behind them the traces they have left in the culture or cultures through
which they passed . We can see this evidently ,in the discussed novel, concerning the theme of
social inequality ,not only in the racism against Negroes but also social inequality

Corn Syrup Pros And Cons
High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is known to be a sweetener derived from corm, which comes in
two forms HFCS 42 and HFCS 55. This indicates it is made up of either fifty five percent or forty
two percent fructose and the remaining sugars are typically glucose. HFCS is considered to be
identical to table sugar, which is made up of fifty percent of fructoseand fifty percent glucose.
Fructose being a simple form of sugar can be found in foods such as honey and fruits. Some of
the pros of HFCS include: it is composed from corn that is a natural grain and therefore a natural
sweetener; it does not contain any artificial, synthetic contents, or colored additives; and it is
approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration s long standing policy as it is recognized as
being a natural substance ( About High Fructose Corn Syrup, 2016).... Show more content on

Obesity is contributed by the consumption of more calories than are expended as well as type II
diabetes, which are linked to obesity. The U.S. Department of Agriculture data indicates that
consumption of HFCS has been decreasing, while obesity and diabetes are rising. Other studies
indicate that many other parts of the world that do not have access to HFCS and are still seeing
a rise in obesity ( About High Fructose Corn Syrup, 2016). However, other indicators for the rise
of obesity may include: diet, exercise, and changes in a person s lifestyle. Sugars produce energy
in the form of calories providing building blocks for other molecules in, which the body requires
such as fats and proteins. Other benefits it provides other than as a sweetener consist of: texture,
functions as a preservative, helps with brown baked foods, provides fermentable sugars, retains
moisture, decreases the harsh vinegar or acid bite, regulates melting, boiling, and frizzing points in

Additionally, Figure S4 illustrates a scavenger study due to pinpoint the most active species, which
involve in the oxidation reaction. Corresponding to the graph, the photooxidation of RB5 assessed
in absence/presence of scavengers. In this context, tert butanol, benzoquinone and ammonium
oxalate are exploited as, hydroxyl radical, superoxide radical and hole scavengers, respectively.
After adding of tert butanol, the RB5 degradation dramatically suppressed compared to the control
solution (without scavengers), almost 80% decreasing in rate is observed in this solution.
However, the addition of benzoquinone to the solution displayed a medium effect on dye
degradation rate (acted as an inhibitor by 40% inhibition of the dye degradation). The... Show more

In a suspension, catalyst s amount can affect the photocatalytic activity by blocking the light,
dispersion/agglomeration of particles, adsorption desorption of reactants and/ or intermediates,
and charge carriers generation [44,45]. Regarding the graph, by building up the photocatalyst s
value from 20 to 50 and then to 100 mg a sharp decrease in concentration of the RB5 were
observed. Afterwards, the dye degradation is decreased dramatically as a result of the building up
in the amount of the catalyst. The greatest percentage of degradation observed at 100 mg of catalyst
regarded to optimal absorption of light and an appropriate number of active sites on the surface.
Below the optimal amount, the number of catalytic active sites are less in turn production of
reactive species which results in lower oxidation efficiency. Above the optimal value of the
photocatalyst, the observed lower activity could be results of an increase in the particle particle
interaction that consequences the increase in the turbidity of the solution. The opaque nature of the
solution leads to inferior light absorption and fast charge recombination [46 48]. Finally, besides the
fact that the role of the photocatalyst in adsorption of the reactant is vital, the light transmittance
and blockage are extremely important,

Traditional Medicine And Chinese Medicine
The Chinese world today carries with it, an air of mystery; which the Chinese civilization gathered
over long periods of time. Their philosophy about life and the methods used in traditional medicine
practice constitutes a significant part of Chinese civilization s history. Part of this traditional
medicine, with deep roots in Chinese culture, is the cupping therapy; which has been successfully
applied since ancient times and has immediate positive effects. In general when people think of
traditional Chinese medicine, the first thing that comes to mind is probably acupunctureor the use of
natural herbs as a healing remedy. Cupping therapy is a lesser known treatment. However cupping
does get combined with acupuncture in treatments, but it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore before discussing in detail the Chinese cupping therapy is imperative to understand the
philosophical elements behind the traditional Chinese medicine. These philosophical elements that
gave rise to the development of traditional Chinese Medicine are as follow: essential Qi, Yin Yang
and the Five Elements. (China.org.cn)
The essential Qi, in traditional Chinese medicine is classified in two categories: normal Qi and
the evil Qi. While the normal Qi is part inborn, part inherited from parents and part acquired
through food essence and the air, therefore essential for daily life activities and body s resistance
against disease; on the other hand the evil Qi is very harmful to health. The explanation for evil
Qi being harmful to health is that it comprises of various pathogenic factors such as: excessive
wind, cold or heat. All these abnormal atmospheric changes are considered being the evil Qi. Thus,
in this context, disease is defined as being a process of struggle between the normal Qi and the evil
Qi. The Yellow Emperor s Classic of Internal Medicine book explains Qi by saying: If genuine qi
prevails, attack of evil qi never avails. Since Qi is said to be invisible and its role is to act as the
motive force in support for all kinds of life activities, the word Qi itself, in traditional Chinese
medicine is translated into English as vital energy .

How Did The Minoans Influence The Mycenaeans
The Aegean period brought about three significant culture civilizations; the Minoans, the
Mycenaeans, and then the Greeks (Matthews, Noble, Platt, 2014). It is evident the civilizations of
Greece learned (although made their own), from the Egyptian and Mesopotamian cultures, which
truly speaks to how we continue to learn and evolve from previous sets consistent culture of
advancement. The Minoans preceded the Mycenaeans who subsequently preceded the Greeks. The
key aspects of the Minoan and Mycenaean cultures that lived on among the later Greeks include
their writing, architecture, the arts and trades, and religion, to name a few.
The Minoans, a prosperous society, due to their domination in trade, formed on the Greek Island of
Crete around 2000 BC (Osborne, 2015). The Minoan civilization was named after King Minos, the
legendary king (Matthews, et al, 2014). The Minoan civilization was evidently not Greek, as the
writing Linear A, has still not been able to translated. However, this primitive writing led to the
development of Linear B by the Mycenaeans, which was later used in the Greek ... Show more

The Minoan civilizations gave art breath (Osborne, 2015). Their art, pottery, sculptures, frescos
beautifying the palace centers, jewelry influenced the Mycenaeans designs, which Greeks
improved upon. It is clear the economic pursuits lived through to the Greeks. Moreover, the
Minoans were polytheistic, though matriarchal (Matthews, et al, 2014). The Mycenanean religion
had ties to the nature gods, as well as some predecessors of Olympian gods and goddesses seen
later in the Greek culture (Mark, 2013). We can truly understand the evolution of civilization to
civilization, as we watch separate cultures and civilizations adapt portions of a previous existence
and then transform into something of their own. This incredible passing of the torch sort of speak,

From the Broadbeach study, the investigation of offshore wave conditions erosion rates and
sandbar morphodynamics, show that Broadbeach experienced some unusual experience during
the study period. Given that the wave conditions on the Gold Coast were considerably less
energetic, results suggest that Broadbeach s beach is significantly vulnerable and is more easily
eroded than other beaches reported. Time series of offshore wave conditions combined with the
evolution of the beach volume also suggests that the studied beach is more exposed to high
erosion rates in the presences of NE to E swell. This trend is in agreement with visual observation
all along the Gold Coast. However, the second and third storm wave events are estimated to be of...

During the first and second extreme events mentioned in the study, the 150m wide Coolangatta
Beach experienced the most intense erosion because waves did not reach the vegetated dune. The
beach then recovered markedly, which can be explained by the presence of the sand bypassing
system and sheltering from he SE high waves (Castelle et al., 2007).
The evolution of measured beach volumes over the study period strongly suggests that the Gold
Coast beaches are not able to withstand a powerful succession of extreme vents. The first high
wave event strongly weakened the beaches, which did not recover before the second high wave
event of a magnitude not unusual along the Gold Coast. However, in these two cases, the storms
resulted in surprisingly high erosion rates. Data from a more in depth investigation of Broadbeach,
using video imagery, suggest that outer bar decay, resulting in a lack of protection of the sub aerial
beach, may explain this high erosion.
The present results show that high energy easterly swells have a considerable destructive power on
both northern and southern Gold Coast beaches. Even though no tropical cyclone directly crossed
the Gold Coast, which would have resulted in much higher energy waves and a more severe storm
surge, the erosion measured is the most substantial of the past 30 years. The Gold Coast beaches
investigated lost between 34 and 52m3/m, which, in terms of beach nourishment, is an extremely
large amount of sand. This suggests hat

Pakist A Secular Or A Islamic State
Pakistan a secular or a Islamic state
According to history England s condition were worse than those prevailing in Pakistan. The Roman
Catholics and Protestants abused each other. There were some states in which bars impose biased
decisions on a particular class depending on majority; with the passage of time they faced realities
of the situation and government ceased fire of arrogance between The Roman Catholics and
Protestants. Today Pakistan is facing the similar crisis they have disjunction between minority and
majority communities, minorities are bounded to follow the rules and regulations owned by the
state which are almost according to majority. Now I think we should keep England as model and
cease the disjunction between minority and majority; keep Pakistan as a whole state, because
religion is the personal faith of each individual.
Our founder Quaid e Azam also wanted this state as a secular one he said in his Feb, 1948 debate:
The constitution of Pakistan has not yet framed but it will be soon framed by Pakistan Constituent
Assembly. I don t know how this constitution would be, but I am giving you surety that it would be
democratic type, personifying essential principles of Islam. Today, these Islamic principles are
applicable as they were at the time of Prophet (P.B.U.H). Idealism of Islam taught us democracy, It
taught the equality of humankind, justice and fair policy to everyone. We are the inheritors of these
glorious traditions and are fully alive to our

Analyzing Satire and Parody in Blazing Saddles
No one is born a racist bigot. In other words, racial bigotry or racial prejudice is not genetically
or biologically determined... Therefore, if most people spoke out about racism, it would be the
first step towards a revolutionary change. Dr. Charles Quist Adade Mel Brooks Blazing Saddles,
sheds light to the cultural problems of the Westernera through satire with elements of parody
within. John Vogel describes Blazing Saddles as The Ultimate Western Spoof. The problem of

Some of the features that are to become key elements of the genre are to be found in early silent
Westerns from the late 1890s and early 1900s (Westerns). Since this time, many of the famous films

genre is because of their grandparents or parents. For others, they may have a genuine interest to
understand this culture that has transformed itself to fit with a new era of time. Although these
films have been able to generate great amounts of revenue, they are full of underlying elements that

noticeable to everyone at first, but that is where the satire and parody come into play.
Satire is a technique employed by writers to expose and criticize foolishness and corruption of an

He is a behavioral scientist who knows how to get people in an organization involved in solving
their own problems. His main strength is a comprehensive knowledge of human behavior,
supported by a number of intervention techniques (to be discussed later). The change agent can be
either external or internal to the organization. An internal change agent is usually a staff person
who has expertise in the behavioral sciences and in the intervention technology of OD. Beckhard
reports several cases in which line people have been trained in OD and have returned to their
organizations to engage in successful change assignments. [3] In the natural evolution of change
mechanisms in organizations, this would seem to approach the ideal arrangement. Qualified change
agents can be found on some university faculties, or they may be private consultants associated
with such organizations as the National Training Laboratories Institute for Applied Behavioral
Science (Washington, D.C.) or University Associates (San Diego, California), and similar
organizations.
The change agent may be a staff or line member of the organization who is schooled in OD theory
and technique. In such a case, the contractual relationship is an in house agreement that should
probably be explicit with respect to all of the conditions involved except the fee.

Essay On Factory Farming
Do you know what your meal went through to get to your plate and how it is affecting your day to
day life? Factory farming is an industrial type operation that uses large quantities of animals to
provide food fast and efficiently. Almost all the meats and animal byproducts that we consume,
cause harm and pain to the animals as they go through the cycle of factory farmingand it might
cause issues affecting your health. Factory farming is unethical because the practices are
uneconomical, unsanitary, and unnecessary. Factory farming is raising livestockwith one intent in
mind, which is getting money fast while spending little. They use shortcuts to make production
more efficient, but do so without the animal s wellbeing in mind. Some people agree with the
prospects of factory farming because they benefit economically. When going to the local grocery

Everything that was fed and put into your dinner gets put into you, such as growth hormones,

Jurassic Park Ethical Issues
The fourth film in the Jurassic Park series was released the summer of 2015, 22 years after the first
movie, Jurassic Park, was released. Movie goers had long awaited a reprisal of the series and
flocked to the theaters. As of the end of the June, the newest movie in the franchise had already
grossed nearly $507 million in North America alone and had a worldwide total of well over a

The overall concept of the movie is a theme park where dinosaurs come to life. Of course,
everything possible goes wrong, as it will when you mess with mother nature. If you haven t yet

Reflection/Guided Inquiry #4
1 Describe a challenge that you encountered while on your most recent co op. What skills,
knowledge and personal qualities did you use to approach it? What did you learn from it? With
what type of mindset (growth or fixed) had you approached that challenge? Having had the
experiences that you have had since then, would you approach it differently today? Why or why
not?
My manager had assigned me a challenging individual task to come up with an innovative project
idea that can solve current business problem. At first, I was blank on how to go for it, since not

I was part of the team that was developing custom ordering applications and we were always in a
phase of creating new custom ordering application with similar kind of skeleton. This gave rise to
the business problem of creating multiple individual ordering applications which requires large

thinking in terms of creating a single mobile Universal Ordering System that can fit all of the
existing applications as well as scale up to add/modify more of them on the fly. I started applying
my technical skills on understanding the business flow, database architecture and mobile
architecture of each of the applications, as well as personal skills to understand business process.

In December 2004, it was decided that direct advances to priority sector will be encouraged, thus
beginning a phased withdrawal of eligibility in special bonds of specified institutions.
1.3
In paragraph 90 of the Annual Policy, ibid, it was stated that one view is that lending to
any infrastructure project should be made eligible for priority sector lending while making
subtargets fungible within the overall target. There is another view that enlargement of areas has
resulted in loss of focus. It is also held that credit growth in housing, venture capital and
infrastructure has been strong while it has been sluggish in agriculture and small industries.
Further, it is argued that only sectors that impact large population, weaker sections and are
employment intensive such as agriculture, tiny and small industry should be eligible for priority
sector. Since there are several issues that need to be considered in this regard, it is appropriate that
these are debated and examined in depth .

In order to examine the issues raised in the Annual Policy, it was decided that an Internal

Bed Bath And Beyond Essay
During the time of the case Bed Bath Beyond (BBBY) was on top of the competition with never
missing earnings estimates and constant store expansions. Both their top line and bottom line
growth was impressive, especially when compared to competitors. Their expansions were being
financed with a large percentage of cash and a small percentage of debt. The debt they did incur
was payed off rather quickly leading to high cash accounts in their books. However, this created a
problem for BBBY, as many analysts and investors considered the pile of cash to be rather
unproductive. Analyst stated that the growing cash position was deteriorating the firms return on

Raising The Minimum Wage
According to the Wall Street Journal, more than one half of the people earning the minimum
wage are from 16 to 24 years of age. This statistic clearly shows that most of the people in
America making minimum wage are young adult that just got out of high school or college and
are trying to find work experience. Why should a low skilled young adult with no work
experience make as much as a teacher? They are doing a job that any other low skilled human
could do. Jobs making the minimum wageshould not be considered to be a career, they should be a
stepping stone towards your future career. The current federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour and
the state minimum wage is $8.10 an hour. An increase in the minimum living wage in the United
Stateswill ultimately result in increased unemployment, increased prices for goods and services,
and essentially becoming ineffective at reducing poverty. Increased unemployment is just one
of the negative effects of increasing the minimum wage. When employers are forced to pay it s
employees more money every week it requires them to find ways to pay for these wage
increases. One unfortunate way these employers will will pay for these wage increases is by
laying off more employees, and requiring the employees left to do even more work then before.
Most fast food establishments in the United State are typically already understaffed, which begs us

The World Of The Classical Solar System
Last July, NASA s New Horizons spacecraft flew by Pluto, the last unvisited world of the
classical solar system. As the largest known member of the Kuiper belt, Pluto is also the gateway
to a new frontier, a scarcely studied collection of primordial icy bodies far from the sun that
constitutes the third zone of the solar system after the realms of the inner rocky planets and the
outer gas giants.
Like most first glimpses of new frontiers, Pluto held so many surprises for New Horizons that the
past eight months have seen a steady stream of discoveries coming from the mission, as the
spacecraft s small radio transmitter beams its gathered data back home. The biggest surprises have
been Pluto s surface and atmosphere, which are restlessly active and diverse despite average
temperatures of only tens of degrees above absolute zero. Some scientists expected New Horizons
would find Pluto to be little more than an inert, sunlight starved orb. Instead, the spacecraft
encountered a world where nitrogen glaciers flow down into plains of frozen methane from
towering mountains of water ice. Sunless half frozen oceans lurk deep beneath the surface, and
multiple moons tumble overhead through hydrocarbon hazed red skies that tinge to blue at sunrise
and sunset.
But beyond celebrating the visceral thrill of the Pluto flyby itself, or the intellectual frisson of
gazing on full color close ups of a place so alien and faraway, most of these discoveries from New
Horizons have so far found a

Symbolism In And Then There Were None
Everyone sometimes gets the feeling of a constant rush of uncertainty, anxiety, and tension because
of what they think may or may not happen. In And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie the
ten main characters in the story are constantly having this feeling of immense uncertainty. They
feel this way because they are slowly dying without even knowing how or why the others were

Analysis Of Mahan s Advocacy For Sea Power Against...
In many scholarly and military circles, the writings of Mahan and Mackinder are often
portrayed as two purist theories opposing one another. Scholars pit Mahan s advocacy for sea
power against Mackinder s insights into the benefits of land power and soon the real genius of
both is lost. (For examples, see Dodds and Sidaway 292, 2004 and Colls 238 239, 2002 as cited
in Dodds and Sidaway 293, 2004 and Holmes and Yoshihara 25, 2005). In truth, in almost every
respect, Mahan s and Mackinder s views are complementary. While Mahan does emphasize the
importance of sea power to a nation s economic prosperity and security, his passionate insight is
a far cry from any assertion against the importance of land power. Conversely, Mackinder s
insights focus quite extensively on the potential for a country to develop a powerful land force
on the core of the Eurasian landmass, but again we see throughout his writing the underlying
assumption of the importance of sea power. Both men agreed on so many salient points that it is
far better to read their works as a whole and thereby glean the collective wisdom of their
perspectives, than to analyze them separately as two opposing schools of thought. In this way, one
can see that their complementary insights are greater than the sum of their individual works. There
are a few scholars that recognize this unfortunate trend of depicting a false land power vs. sea
power debate. Jon Sumida is one who acknowledges that the Mahan texts are often

four other interpretations of these figurines mentioned in class or in the reading. Do any or all of
these interpretations support the views of the 19th century evolutionist Johann Jakob Bachofen?
Paleolithic Venuses are prehistoric sculptures that are traditionally thought, by experts to be images
that adore and glorify female fertility. There are three reasons why most historians who study the
Paleolithic era support this traditional idea. One, most analysts only use a sampling of the 188

And the result was that only 70% or 132 figurines were used to complete the study. Out of the

17 % were statuettes of pregnant women. 38% were of non pregnant women in the reproductive
stage, and 22% were of , post reproductive women. It was then concluded by Rice that there is no
evidence to support the traditional view that the Paleolithic Venuses represent fertility since the
largest group of statues were of adult women while the smallest group were made up of pregnant
females. However, these results did not completely satisfy her. She then raised the question that
since these figurines were not sculptured for fertility purposes, then why were these sculptures
made? Rice believes that the answers to this question lie in the cultural aspects in the Paleolithic
society. IN the article she discusses the roles and status of women in the society. She talks about
the various responsibilities that women have in each stage of their lives. The three important jobs
that women had in the society are being the reliable source of food, providing a stable home

Advantages Of Flight Vs Invisibility
Flight vs Invisibility: One, a hero, the other a villain
Humanity has observed the heavens, viewing the feathered birds above them, being contemptuous
with their freedom of being winged creatures with the ability of flight. According to Orville

embedded in the minds of humanity. To possess flight, is to own the ability to resist the pull of a

Moreover, it would be unnecessary to ride in buses, cars or planes if you had the power of flight,
enabling you to save money, as you can arrive to your desired destination without spending a

invisibility is only good in two cases: It s useful in getting away; it s useful in approaching...
therefore, useful in killing , as stated from The Invisible Man (Wells), invisibility, is only useful for
immoral acts. Therefore, why wait and sneak on a plane with invisibility, when you can take off to

Alone it s wonderful how little a man can do alone! To rob a little, to hurt a little and there is the

usually the superhero. Furthermore, flight is for those who usually desire to do good with their

The Importance Of Nonverbal Communication
Throughout the world people use numerous types of communication; However, not many realize
how often they use nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication is the act of speaking
with facial expressions, eye contact, gestures, and posture (body language). This type of
communication is just as important as any other, as it can portray the wrong message. The more
aware you become of nonverbal communication, the more aware you become at noticing you are
utilizing nonverbal communication and can alter your body language, facial expressions, and
eyes to portray the message you intended to from the beginning. Body language is a strong
purveyor of nonverbal communication. Whether you notice it or not, your body speaks just as
loud as you do. It expresses emotions, feelings, and attitudes, sometimes even contradicting the
messages conveyed by spoken language. Humans send and interpret such signals almost entirely
subconsciously according to Johns (2008). He attested that human communication consists of
93 percent body language and paralinguistic cues, while only seven percent of communication
consists of words themselves. However, in many different cultures, nonverbal communication is
a part of daily life and is expected. In Japan, people tend to bow at the waist as a formal gesture
expressing appreciation and respect towards a person. It can also be used as a greeting
accompanied by ohayo gozaimasu meaning good morning or konnichi wa meaning hello, good
afternoon . In America, service men and women salute the flag or someone of higher power
/rank as a sign of respect or admiration. This is where nonverbals contain the entire message.
Nonverbal communication also includes our posture, how we carry ourselves. Bad posture can
ultimately alter the message we are creating non verbally. When you walk into a room of people
you don t know, look around at how many people are sprawled and how many are isolated. People
who cross their arms over the chest are often keeping something to themselves, or they may even be
protecting themselves from something. Of course, this must be related to the situation. If the
people speaking are very comfortable with one another, the crossed arms could signify that one
person is

The Importance Of The Clunkers Program
First off I will start off by saying that every car is different. The most important step is safety. Make
sure you have the tools you need close by. The car needs to be on a flat or level surface. Only work
on one wheel at a time. If you are working on the front wheel brakes, chock the back wheels behind
the car. If you are going to be working on the back brakes, chock the front wheels in front of the car.
Once you have secured the vehiclein park or locked in gear, loosen the lug nuts on the tire you are
going to be working on. Do not take them all the way off yet, only break them loose. Now you are
ready to jack the car up. Most new vehicles have a lip or pad designed for this use. If you do not
see one, try to find a place on the frame... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you are patient and have basic knowledge of tools, you can replace a car window thus saving
money on window repair. Replacing a car window is not a difficult task, but simply one with
many small steps. Many of these are listed in the vehicle repair guides you can find at the local
auto parts store. Here are the steps on how to change a car window. Gather your supplies and
tools. Put everything near the car so items are within easy reach of the project. Make sure there
is no debris or other unneeded items around where you are working. Place the tarp on the outside
of the window or the ground along the exterior of the door. This will help catch any debris which
falls outside of the car. Place the new glass on the tarp in an area which will be out of the way of
your work. Open the door of the window you are working with unless the window is in a sliding
door which must be closed to proceed. If the window isn t in a door, skip to the next step. Using
a screwdriver, remove the screws around the inside panel under the window you are working
with. Put the screws in a container for easy keeping. For electronic windows, the screws
underneath the inside door handle must also be removed. Then pop off the top of the door handle
to locate the wiring by wedging a flathead screwdriver under the handle and pushing the handle
away from the door. Unscrew the screws holding the wiring inside the door handle and

Why Grammar Is Important
A wise man once told me, first impressions are everything. If you think about it, it appears to be
true. You only get one chance to make a first impression, there are no do overs. Generally, a first
impression lets others get a feel of how that person is going to act. Imagine meeting a co worker
with poor grammar for the first time. It would most likely lead you to assume that they have a
very mediocre education level. As you see, grammar is a key factor in the workplace. Some
reasons to why it is important is; Proper grammar affects how others feel about or respond to each
other, it allows people to communicate effectively in the workplace which is a key time
management skill, also a person with good grammar is more likely to succeed at... Show more

Poor grammar could keep you from getting a job. Kyle Wiens, CEO of iFixit, gives all of his
job applicants a grammar test. He says I will not hire people who has bad grammar unless they
have serious extenuating circumstances like dyslexia or those who are learning English as a
second language. As you see people are ultimately judged by their grammar. Mr. Wiens would
not want someone who uses to when they are supposed to use too or vise versa represent his
company. Grammar in this day age can also define a person, especially if one does not know the
other particularly well. Poor Grammar can also display a person s intelligence or laziness. In
business there is a famous saying, Time is money.Money is time. This means that every second
is crucial. There is not time to be wasting or to be making mistakes even though it will occur.
Having people that can communicate effectively in the workplace is a key time management
skill. It will cause less confusion if employees has good grammar versus one s with bad grammar.
For example, if a person with bad grammar was trying to explain an idea to a co worker, the co
worker would spend more time piecing together what the other person is saying then actually
thinking about the

Unified Codes of Behavior for Soccer Soccer, or football to most of the world, has been one of
the oldest sports in the history of the world. It is by far the most viewed, played, and biggest

always have to be based off of how good their soccer teams are, for instance Manchester United

The Excerpts From The Overspent American I Was Not...
Before reading the excerpts from The Overspent American I was not familiar with Juliet Schor s
work. While reading however, I saw that her views were different from many of the other
authors that we have read so far. When I had finished the reading I found the reading enjoyable
and fascinating. The reason that her writing intrigued me was because of her multiple
perspectives while writing. Not only does she concentrate on the economics of American
people, but she also uses a sociologist lens to show the purchasing habits of our culture. The
Overspent American focuses on how we as a society have changed our spending patterns from
the past. During the 1950s the phrase keeping up with the Jones was coined and it represented
Americans trying to outspend their neighbors and friends. For example, my friend buys a boat
and I also need to buy a boat to make sure my friends saw me as being wealthy. Today our society
as changed in many ways but Schor finds that our spending habits have altered the most since the
1950s. By analyzing and evaluating her work, one can see how Americans spending habits have
changed over time and how our economics have been overtaken by televisionand broadcast media.
As mentioned earlier, during the 1950s people were more likely to compare themselves to their
neighbors and community. There was limited forms of media that everyone saw on a mass scale
so most class groups would read or watch the same movies, books, etc. People would look out their

How Is King Arthur Radley Revenge
Arthur Radley Would Revenge After reading the first three chapters of To Kill a Mocking Bird,
I formulated a rudimentary hypothesis about Mr. Arthur Radley: Being alive, he was imprisoned
at home by his brother, Nathan Radley. The misfortunes throughout Arthur s life had wrought
his antisocial personality. When he finally got an opportunity, he revenged on the three children
for their ceaseless harassment, and injured Jem s arm. Arthur Radley was still incarcerated in
the Radley Place. After Mr. Radley s death, Boo s elder brother returned from Pensacola and
took Mr. Radley s place . This fact implies the existence of Arthur Radley, who was considered
dangerous and required custody. Another significant evidence lies on the first page: He (Jem)
said it (Jem s injury) began the summer Dill came to us, when Dill first gave us the idea of
making Boo Radley come out . It suggests that Radley would cause Jem s injury, either directly or
indirectly.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Arthur and his friends were on charge of their delinquency, Mr. Radley refused to send Arthur
to the state industrial school with his friends. Instead, the mulish father determined to confine him
at home. Because of Arthur Radley s misdemeanor and solitary, many people in the town, including
Jem, regarded him as an atrocious creature. Extreme solitude and ubiquitous animosity would
arouse his hatred against other people. In addition, Miss Stephanie Crawford told us that Arthur
Radley had stabbed his father s leg abruptly with a scissor. Although her account might be partly
spurious, it is enough to assert that Arthur Radley already had a propensity for

Perspectives On Wellbeing And Genuine Progress Indicator...
Rethinking What Counts. Perspectives on Wellbeing and Genuine Progress Indicator Metrics from
a Canadian Viewpoint Wilson Tyedmers (2013) discuss how recently the economic growth model
has been criticized, which has lead to rethinking how economic success and social wellbeing are
measured. Improved metrics have aimed to integrate social, environmental, and human welfare in
order to properly account for potential costs of economic growth (Wilson Tyedmers, 2013). Wilson
Tyedmers (2013) discuss the attempt to improve macroeconomic metrics and indicators with focus
on the Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI) drawing on Canadian examples. GPIs adjust the GDP

Making adjustments to these methods and communicating their importance in an efficient way
are going to be important in the future to get more individuals behind the idea. I do question
alternatives to GDP because not everyone weighs things the same when it comes to wellbeing
therefore the use of these methods nationally or even locally might be unjustifiable. A theoretical
foundation to support the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare (ISEW), Genuine Progress
Indicator (GPI), and other related indexes Lawn (2003) describes that ecological economists
have developed alternative indexes due to the inadequacy of GDP as a measure of human
progress, which can be use to measure and compare the benefits and costs of growth. These
alternatives to GDP such as the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare (ISEW) and Genuine
Progress Indicator (GPI) support the threshold hypothesis but they have faced criticism based on
lack of theoretical foundation (Lawn, 2003). Lawn (2003) compares GDP, the Sustainable Net
Benefit Index (SNBI), and ISEW/GPI to the concept of income and capital as outlined by Fisher
(1906) to argue that macroeconomic alternative indexes are theoretically sound. The Fisherian view
believes economic welfare depends on psychic enjoyment of life and not on production or
consumption rate (Lawn,

Theory of Capital Structure
Theory of Capital Structure A Review
Stein FrydenbergВЈ April 29, 2004
ABSTRACT This paper is a review of the central theoretical literature. The most important
arguments for what could determine capital structure is the pecking order theory and the static
trade off theory. These two theories are reviewed, but neither of them provides a complete
description of the situation and why some п¬Ѓrms prefer equity and others debt under different
circumstances. The paper is ended by a summary where the option price paradigm is proposed as a
comprehensible model that can augment most partial arguments. The capital structure and corporate
п¬Ѓnance literature is п¬Ѓlled with different models, but few, if any give a complete picture.

The theoretical models of capital structure in a world in which capital markets are not perfect
relates capital structure to several measurable and nonmeasurable attributes of a п¬Ѓrm. The
irrelevance proposition provides conditions under which the capital structure of a п¬Ѓrm is
irrelevant to total п¬Ѓrm value. Turning the irrelevance proposition around, the proposition also
tells us which factors that may be the causes of corporate capital structure. The assumptions giving
irrelevance as a result may cause relevance if they are broken. The question is, do they, and if so to
what extent? And what if several imperfections exist simultaneously? Besides the irrelevance
hypothesis of Modigliani and Miller there are several other theories relevant to capital structure.
These are the asset substitution hypothesis, under investment hypothesis, the free cash flow
hypothesis, the signaling hypothesis and product markets arguments. 3
.1. Value Additive Model of Capital Structure State preference models have been used extensively
in the п¬Ѓnance literature as a general framework for explanation of the irrelevance hypothesis.
Both Lewellen and Mauer (1988), Kraus and Litzenberger (1973), Stiglitz (1969) and Hirshleifer
(1966) have used this approach.

the name of Willy Loman (Miller, 1949). Willy Loman is getting older, and after another
unsuccessful sale, he is starting to show his age (Miller, 1949). Willy begins to encounter the
inability to remember events and setting apart past memories from present ones. Willy
throughout the play talks out loud to himself, reliving some scenes from his past; memories of
his two sons growing up and conversations with his wife about his job (Miller, 1949). Willy
Loman is in constant constant conflict with his sons as they each have a different take on what it
means to have lived a successful life. After getting fired, Willy now is at a loss and he begins to

The Ethics Of Citizen Journalism And Traditional Media
In today s age, anyone can be a reporter. Traditional media is where news has been shared by trained
journalists for decades, however, citizen journalism has skyrocketed in recent years with the growth
of the Internet. These citizen journalists have no professional training in journalism collecting and
news distribution (Netzley). Citizen journalists are collecting, reporting, analyzing, and
disseminating news without any formal training but provides independent, relevant information
(Barnes). Traditional media outlets are not being outdone by citizen journalismin today s society,
but their platform is growing rapidly. The ethics of citizen journalism is not growing at the same
rate as its platform and relevance in today s world.
Producing and sharing media has become much easier which has given citizen journalists a
much larger platform than ever before. Social media, blogs, and production material such as
FinalCutPro are making it easier and faster to get media out there compared to traditional media
sources (Roberts and Steiner, 1). Citizen journalists are much more equipped with being able to
share news from what is happening at the scene of an event. These can be photos, videos, or a
number of different sources from major events in history such as September 11th and the more
recent Las Vegas attack (Barnes). Some professional news sites even encourage citizen journalists
to share media, stories, and ideas. A study done in 2008 showed that one out of every seven of

  • 2. The Effects Of Lithium Batteries On Medical Devices Introduction With the rise in the aging population, there has been an increase in demand for implanted medical devices, such as pacemakers. Approximately, 70% to 80% of all pacemakers are implanted in people 65 years old or over (Bradshaw, Stobie, knuiman, Briffa, 2014). Lithium batteries have dominated as the main source of energy for implantable medical devices. The limitations of lithium batteries have become apparent. The batteries have a limited energy capacity; therefore, this limits its use in smaller devices, which in terms reduces its lifetime. Due to the short lifetime of these batteries, they must be replaced every so often (Rasouli Phee, 2010). The need to replace and recharge batteries leads to surgeries and discomfort for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1998, Paradiso implemented this into the creation of a prototype shoe. The heel of the shoe had a spring magnetic generator. Each time the person walked approximately 1 watt was produced. The disadvantages were that the person had to have the ability to walk and it caused discomfort. Additional adjustments were made to the idea as the years progressed. In 2001, Paradiso placed the piezoelectric elements on the heel and under the toes. Kornbluh placed them on the heel of both shoes (Hannan et al., 2014). But, each one faced the issue of the patient needing the ability to walk. Electrostatic Energy Electrostatic generators use electrostatic induction to produce electricity. It converts mechanical vibrations into electricity by moving the transducer in against the electrical field. The conversion occurs with either fixed charge or fixed voltage. This method is adequate for micro implanted devices that use low power (Hannan et al., 2014). Magnetic Induction Generator There are two types of magnetic induction generators. One based on relative motion where the generator is fixed. Another, that uses body motion. In the second case, the generator is installed with the inertia force of the weight. Hoska conducted an investigation comparing the two types (Hnnan et al., 2014). He found that the second less vulnerable to constant movements and more vulnerable to vibratory movements, which can be explained due to the fact that the second type uses inertia. ... Marvel has been winding tales much like these for years, inspiring both the young and the old, since 1939. They created their own storyline combining current topics and events and adding a dash of somewhat mystical pizzazz that is not only gripping but intriguing. In their world you follow superheroes through their lives, learning their stories and not only understanding them on the level of a super but on a personal level. There are iconic superhero figures that most would recognize like Captain America and Iron Man. These two were partners at one time, fighting side by side in the league known as the Avengerswho fought and saved New York from an alien invasion. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe... By the end of the fight most are wounded and almost all of Team Captain America is detained and sent to a federal prison. Bucky and Steve did manage to escape and find that it was Zemo who had staged the bombing and set up Bucky. When this evidence comes to life Tony tracks down Bucky and Steve to try and make amends for what had transpired earlier. Zemo was not done trying to ruin Bucky, he then shows old footage of Bucky killing Tony s parents while he was still being controlled for HYDRA. This prompts the last battle of the movie with Tony going after Bucky. Unable to let his best friend die, Steve jumps into save Bucky. The battle ends with Bucky missing his arm and Steve along with Tony near death. Captain America: Civil War ends with Bucky being cryogenically frozen and Steve breaking his friends out of jail. Steve did write a letter to Tony stating that if the world needed it he, along with the others, would be back to help fight for it but under no other circumstances was Tony hearing from them. This could mean the end of the Avengers and possibly a split in the superhero community. If the panel does end up going through that also means more regulations on the superheroes that are out ... The House Of The Importance Of The North York Moors This section is probably the most demanding part of the Way, it traverses the northern escarpment of the North York Moors, crossing a series of valley s which drain the moorland pastures. On a clear day, the scenery is beautiful and invigorating, but there are few places to shelter if the weather turns foul. Lord Stones Country Park is the only watering hole, en route, so take sufficient rations. Our journey resumes from the market cross, and within a few minutes, we have two optional detours to consider, one to Lady Chapel and another to Mount Grace Priory. Both will incur extra time and distance. The Priory, founded in 1398 by Thomas de Holand, the nephew of Richard II, bears the illustrious title of The House of the Assumption of the... It s actually a very simple quantitative stock ranking scheme. It uses return on capital and earnings yield as inputs. Return on capital is the metric that shows whether a business is a good one or not. Earnings yield is the metric that shows whether a company is cheap or not. Greenblatt suggests using these measures to identify good but cheap businesses, and buy them. That s the secret behind the magic formula . In The Little Book That Beats The Market, Greenblatt calculated hypothetical returns for the 1988 2004 period. The magic formula returned an average 30.8% per year, while the market return was 12.3% and the S P 500 returned an average 12.4%. So this formula beats the market by 18% per year. The two things he looks at are earnings yield, which is how cheap the company is. A simple earnings yield would be the inverse of the P/E ratio or earnings to price. So, in other words, if something earned $2 and it cost you $10 a share, you d have a 20% earnings yield. It uses a more sophisticated metric than just earnings, than just price. But the concept is the same. It uses EBIT earnings before interest and taxes and compares that to enterprise value, which is the market value of a company s stock plus the long term debt that a company has. That adjusts for companies that have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This indicates it is made up of either fifty five percent or forty two percent fructose and the remaining sugars are typically glucose. HFCS is considered to be identical to table sugar, which is made up of fifty percent of fructoseand fifty percent glucose. Fructose being a simple form of sugar can be found in foods such as honey and fruits. Some of the pros of HFCS include: it is composed from corn that is a natural grain and therefore a natural sweetener; it does not contain any artificial, synthetic contents, or colored additives; and it is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration s long standing policy as it is recognized as being a natural substance ( About High Fructose Corn Syrup, 2016).... In a suspension, catalyst s amount can affect the photocatalytic activity by blocking the light, dispersion/agglomeration of particles, adsorption desorption of reactants and/ or intermediates, and charge carriers generation [44,45]. Regarding the graph, by building up the photocatalyst s value from 20 to 50 and then to 100 mg a sharp decrease in concentration of the RB5 were observed. Afterwards, the dye degradation is decreased dramatically as a result of the building up in the amount of the catalyst. The greatest percentage of degradation observed at 100 mg of catalyst regarded to optimal absorption of light and an appropriate number of active sites on the surface. Below the optimal amount, the number of catalytic active sites are less in turn production of reactive species which results in lower oxidation efficiency. Above the optimal value of the photocatalyst, the observed lower activity could be results of an increase in the particle particle interaction that consequences the increase in the turbidity of the solution. The opaque nature of the solution leads to inferior light absorption and fast charge recombination [46 48]. Their philosophy about life and the methods used in traditional medicine practice constitutes a significant part of Chinese civilization s history. Part of this traditional medicine, with deep roots in Chinese culture, is the cupping therapy; which has been successfully applied since ancient times and has immediate positive effects. Therefore before discussing in detail the Chinese cupping therapy is imperative to understand the philosophical elements behind the traditional Chinese medicine. These philosophical elements that gave rise to the development of traditional Chinese Medicine are as follow: essential Qi, Yin Yang and the Five Elements. (China.org.cn) The essential Qi, in traditional Chinese medicine is classified in two categories: normal Qi and the evil Qi. While the normal Qi is part inborn, part inherited from parents and part acquired through food essence and the air, therefore essential for daily life activities and body s resistance against disease; on the other hand the evil Qi is very harmful to health. The explanation for evil Qi being harmful to health is that it comprises of various pathogenic factors such as: excessive wind, cold or heat. All these abnormal atmospheric changes are considered being the evil Qi. Thus, in this context, disease is defined as being a process of struggle between the normal Qi and the evil Qi. The Yellow Emperor s Classic of Internal Medicine book explains Qi by saying: If genuine qi prevails, attack of evil qi never avails. Since Qi is said to be invisible and its role is to act as the motive force in support for all kinds of life activities, the word Qi itself, in traditional Chinese medicine is translated into English as vital energy . ... • 12. How Did The Minoans Influence The Mycenaeans The Aegean period brought about three significant culture civilizations; the Minoans, the Mycenaeans, and then the Greeks (Matthews, Noble, Platt, 2014). It is evident the civilizations of Greece learned (although made their own), from the Egyptian and Mesopotamian cultures, which truly speaks to how we continue to learn and evolve from previous sets consistent culture of advancement. The Minoans preceded the Mycenaeans who subsequently preceded the Greeks. The key aspects of the Minoan and Mycenaean cultures that lived on among the later Greeks include their writing, architecture, the arts and trades, and religion, to name a few. The Minoans, a prosperous society, due to their domination in trade, formed on the Greek Island of Crete around 2000 BC (Osborne, 2015). The Minoan civilization was named after King Minos, the legendary king (Matthews, et al, 2014). From the Broadbeach study, the investigation of offshore wave conditions erosion rates and sandbar morphodynamics, show that Broadbeach experienced some unusual experience during the study period. Given that the wave conditions on the Gold Coast were considerably less energetic, results suggest that Broadbeach s beach is significantly vulnerable and is more easily eroded than other beaches reported. Time series of offshore wave conditions combined with the evolution of the beach volume also suggests that the studied beach is more exposed to high erosion rates in the presences of NE to E swell. This trend is in agreement with visual observation all along the Gold Coast. However, the second and third storm wave events are estimated to be of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the first and second extreme events mentioned in the study, the 150m wide Coolangatta Beach experienced the most intense erosion because waves did not reach the vegetated dune. The beach then recovered markedly, which can be explained by the presence of the sand bypassing system and sheltering from he SE high waves (Castelle et al., 2007). The evolution of measured beach volumes over the study period strongly suggests that the Gold Coast beaches are not able to withstand a powerful succession of extreme vents. The first high wave event strongly weakened the beaches, which did not recover before the second high wave event of a magnitude not unusual along the Gold Coast. However, in these two cases, the storms resulted in surprisingly high erosion rates. Data from a more in depth investigation of Broadbeach, using video imagery, suggest that outer bar decay, resulting in a lack of protection of the sub aerial beach, may explain this high erosion. The present results show that high energy easterly swells have a considerable destructive power on both northern and southern Gold Coast beaches. Even though no tropical cyclone directly crossed the Gold Coast, which would have resulted in much higher energy waves and a more severe storm surge, the erosion measured is the most substantial of the past 30 years. The Gold Coast beaches investigated lost between 34 and 52m3/m, which, in terms of beach nourishment, is an extremely large amount of sand. This suggests hat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Pakist A Secular Or A Islamic State Pakistan a secular or a Islamic state According to history England s condition were worse than those prevailing in Pakistan. The Roman Catholics and Protestants abused each other. There were some states in which bars impose biased decisions on a particular class depending on majority; with the passage of time they faced realities of the situation and government ceased fire of arrogance between The Roman Catholics and Protestants. Today Pakistan is facing the similar crisis they have disjunction between minority and majority communities, minorities are bounded to follow the rules and regulations owned by the state which are almost according to majority. Now I think we should keep England as model and cease the disjunction between minority and majority; keep Pakistan as a whole state, because religion is the personal faith of each individual. Our founder Quaid e Azam also wanted this state as a secular one he said in his Feb, 1948 debate: The constitution of Pakistan has not yet framed but it will be soon framed by Pakistan Constituent Assembly. I don t know how this constitution would be, but I am giving you surety that it would be democratic type, personifying essential principles of Islam. Today, these Islamic principles are applicable as they were at the time of Prophet (P.B.U.H). Beckhard reports several cases in which line people have been trained in OD and have returned to their organizations to engage in successful change assignments. • 34. Analysis Of Mahan s Advocacy For Sea Power Against... In many scholarly and military circles, the writings of Mahan and Mackinder are often portrayed as two purist theories opposing one another. Scholars pit Mahan s advocacy for sea power against Mackinder s insights into the benefits of land power and soon the real genius of both is lost. (For examples, see Dodds and Sidaway 292, 2004 and Colls 238 239, 2002 as cited in Dodds and Sidaway 293, 2004 and Holmes and Yoshihara 25, 2005). In truth, in almost every respect, Mahan s and Mackinder s views are complementary. While Mahan does emphasize the importance of sea power to a nation s economic prosperity and security, his passionate insight is a far cry from any assertion against the importance of land power. Conversely, Mackinder s insights focus quite extensively on the potential for a country to develop a powerful land force on the core of the Eurasian landmass, but again we see throughout his writing the underlying assumption of the importance of sea power. Both men agreed on so many salient points that it is far better to read their works as a whole and thereby glean the collective wisdom of their perspectives, than to analyze them separately as two opposing schools of thought. In this way, one can see that their complementary insights are greater than the sum of their individual works. Advantages Of Flight Vs Invisibility Flight vs Invisibility: One, a hero, the other a villain Humanity has observed the heavens, viewing the feathered birds above them, being contemptuous with their freedom of being winged creatures with the ability of flight. According to Orville Wright, The dream to be able to fly like birds is as old as humanity itself (Wright), something embedded in the minds of humanity. To possess flight, is to own the ability to resist the pull of a planet s gravity and navigate through the sky, which many would disregard for invisibility, being unseen to the naked eye. Therefore, why wait and sneak on a plane with invisibility, when you can take off to anywhere of your heart s desire? Logically and rationally, flight is truly the better option. Alone it s wonderful how little a man can do alone! To rob a little, to hurt a little and there is the end , the Invisible Man in Herbert. G. Wells novel stated (Wells). Examining this assertion, one can denote that invisibility has its shortcomings. As it relates to moral quandary, flight does not question your moral belief, as in the majority of superhero films, the one who possesses flight is usually the superhero. • 40. The Importance Of Nonverbal Communication Throughout the world people use numerous types of communication; However, not many realize how often they use nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication is the act of speaking with facial expressions, eye contact, gestures, and posture (body language). This type of communication is just as important as any other, as it can portray the wrong message. The more aware you become of nonverbal communication, the more aware you become at noticing you are utilizing nonverbal communication and can alter your body language, facial expressions, and eyes to portray the message you intended to from the beginning. Body language is a strong purveyor of nonverbal communication. Whether you notice it or not, your body speaks just as loud as you do. It expresses emotions, feelings, and attitudes, sometimes even contradicting the messages conveyed by spoken language. Humans send and interpret such signals almost entirely subconsciously according to Johns (2008). He attested that human communication consists of 93 percent body language and paralinguistic cues, while only seven percent of communication consists of words themselves. However, in many different cultures, nonverbal communication is a part of daily life and is expected. In Japan, people tend to bow at the waist as a formal gesture expressing appreciation and respect towards a person. It can also be used as a greeting accompanied by ohayo gozaimasu meaning good morning or konnichi wa meaning hello, good afternoon . In America, service men and women salute the flag or someone of higher power /rank as a sign of respect or admiration. This is where nonverbals contain the entire message. Nonverbal communication also includes our posture, how we carry ourselves. Bad posture can ultimately alter the message we are creating non verbally. When you walk into a room of people you don t know, look around at how many people are sprawled and how many are isolated. People who cross their arms over the chest are often keeping something to themselves, or they may even be protecting themselves from something. Of course, this must be related to the situation. If the people speaking are very comfortable with one another, the crossed arms could signify that one person is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Replacing a car window is not a difficult task, but simply one with many small steps. Many of these are listed in the vehicle repair guides you can find at the local auto parts store. Here are the steps on how to change a car window. Gather your supplies and tools. Put everything near the car so items are within easy reach of the project. Make sure there is no debris or other unneeded items around where you are working. Place the tarp on the outside of the window or the ground along the exterior of the door. This will help catch any debris which falls outside of the car. Place the new glass on the tarp in an area which will be out of the way of your work. Open the door of the window you are working with unless the window is in a sliding door which must be closed to proceed. If the window isn t in a door, skip to the next step. Using a screwdriver, remove the screws around the inside panel under the window you are working with. Put the screws in a container for easy keeping. For electronic windows, the screws underneath the inside door handle must also be removed. You only get one chance to make a first impression, there are no do overs. Generally, a first impression lets others get a feel of how that person is going to act. • 46. The Excerpts From The Overspent American I Was Not... Before reading the excerpts from The Overspent American I was not familiar with Juliet Schor s work. While reading however, I saw that her views were different from many of the other authors that we have read so far. When I had finished the reading I found the reading enjoyable and fascinating. The reason that her writing intrigued me was because of her multiple perspectives while writing. Not only does she concentrate on the economics of American people, but she also uses a sociologist lens to show the purchasing habits of our culture. The Overspent American focuses on how we as a society have changed our spending patterns from the past. During the 1950s the phrase keeping up with the Jones was coined and it represented Americans trying to outspend their neighbors and friends. For example, my friend buys a boat and I also need to buy a boat to make sure my friends saw me as being wealthy. Today our society as changed in many ways but Schor finds that our spending habits have altered the most since the 1950s. By analyzing and evaluating her work, one can see how Americans spending habits have changed over time and how our economics have been overtaken by televisionand broadcast media. As mentioned earlier, during the 1950s people were more likely to compare themselves to their neighbors and community. There was limited forms of media that everyone saw on a mass scale so most class groups would read or watch the same movies, books, etc. People would look out their ... How Is King Arthur Radley Revenge Arthur Radley Would Revenge After reading the first three chapters of To Kill a Mocking Bird, I formulated a rudimentary hypothesis about Mr. Arthur Radley: Being alive, he was imprisoned at home by his brother, Nathan Radley. When he finally got an opportunity, he revenged on the three children for their ceaseless harassment, and injured Jem s arm. Arthur Radley was still incarcerated in the Radley Place. After Mr. Radley s death, Boo s elder brother returned from Pensacola and took Mr. Radley s place . This fact implies the existence of Arthur Radley, who was considered dangerous and required custody. A theoretical foundation to support the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare (ISEW), Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI), and other related indexes Lawn (2003) describes that ecological economists have developed alternative indexes due to the inadequacy of GDP as a measure of human progress, which can be use to measure and compare the benefits and costs of growth. These alternatives to GDP such as the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare (ISEW) and Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI) support the threshold hypothesis but they have faced criticism based on lack of theoretical foundation (Lawn, 2003). Lawn (2003) compares GDP, the Sustainable Net Benefit Index (SNBI), and ISEW/GPI to the concept of income and capital as outlined by Fisher (1906) to argue that macroeconomic alternative indexes are theoretically sound. Turning the irrelevance proposition around, the proposition also tells us which factors that may be the causes of corporate capital structure. The assumptions giving irrelevance as a result may cause relevance if they are broken. The question is, do they, and if so to what extent? And what if several imperfections exist simultaneously?
