Managing Your Time Effectively
Do you find it difficult to juggle multiple priorities?
Do you wish someone could give you some new time management strategies?
This workshop will allow you to confront all of the directions that life pulls you: work, family, and of course – school! We’ll talk about how to prioritize and organize your life so that you can have time to enjoy yourself too!
Have you ever found yourself bleary-eyed and strung out from too much coffee and too little sleep after pulling an "all nighter" right before the big biology test? If you are a full-time student, you have a full-time job. You may not think of school as a job but consider this. You typically have 12-15 or more hours of class per week. In addition, you are expected to put in about 2 hours of preparation and production outside of class for each hour in class. This means that your work week is at least 36 to 45 hours long. This is a full-time occupation. In "Time Management for College Students," we will give you some guidelines to help you better manage your time.
Everyone has 24 hours a day, but there is a difference in time management and scheduling that some can and some cannot do on time. In this book, you will learn about my personal and smart time management method. I combined this method with a few general standard methods. I advised my colleagues, students, clients, and loved ones on this method of time management.
What is time management?
It is the crucial aspect of in our life. It is a unique resource and it cannot be recovered Time management is the conscious control of time we spent on specific activities. As a result, we have developed several embedded academic support models using learning and peer coaches to assist students in their acquisition and enhancement of writing skills, academic research strategies and content area knowledge. This presentation will explore the ways in which we have embedded academic support into two different study groups, highlighting the benefits for both faculty and students, and examine lessons learned. Our intention with the presentation is to bring the audience into this conversation, sharing the models we use for our peer coach training and embedded academic support approaches. Participants will be asked to reflect on their own centers and take away ideas for how they might adapt these models to start/enhance their own embedded academic support efforts.

Thinking about your degree plan as your resume & the rationale essay as your cover letter is the approach we take in this workshop that will introduce you to the steps & strategies necessary to complete the most unique piece of writing that you will do at ESC .

7. Helping You Connect the Pieces for Academic Success
A peer coach is a current undergraduate or
graduate student trained to guide and encourage
other students in improving their academic
performance and development as a life-long
learner, focusing on general study skills, specific
content-areas, navigating college resources, and
developing within their Areas of Study.
They work in both face-to-face and virtual
environments.
Peer coaches are trained under College Reading
& Learning Association (CRLA) international
standards for peer tutors and are either
volunteers, work-study, or practicum students.

We all have the same amount of time ~

◦ 24 hours in a day,
◦ 168 hours in a week,

Time cannot be saved and it does not gain interest.

12. PRIORITIZATION
Prioritization is essential to effective time management… Most time management
experts will argue strongly that one must learn to differentiate between the
important and the optional and discover how to judge the relative
importance of each task to help in their scheduling.
First, you must set aside an appropriate amount of time to attend
life issues
Second, you must learn how to differentiate the essential from the
important.
Third, you must be able to push the urgent items towards the top.

15. Four Simple Reasons for Procrastination
Difficult - the task seems hard to do; we naturally tend to avoid difficult things in favor
of those which seem easy to us.
Time-consuming - the task will take large blocks of time, and large blocks of time are
unavailable until the weekend.
Lack of knowledge or skills - no one wants to make mistakes, so wait until you learn
how before you start.
Fears - everyone will know how you screwed up.
So how do I stop procrastinating….
The simple cure? Do everything opposite. Tell yourself: this isn't so hard, it won't take
long, and I am sure that I know how to do it, or that I can learn while I'm doing it.

There are lots of things in a day that we all need to do like cook diner and clean the house and we have to create time to them. But they can also become a great way to avoid doing school work. Just like talking on the phone to a friend who wants to tell you about their day or checking your facebook account to see who might have posted a comment on your wall. Yes these are all things they should be done but are not always a priority.
