Management is both an art and a science. As a science, management has an organized body of knowledge and universal truths. As an art, it requires personal skills that managers apply. To be successful, a manager must acquire scientific knowledge and know how to apply it using their skills. Therefore, management judiciously blends science and art - it proves principles through science and applies them through art. Science teaches what to know, and art teaches how to do it. Managers are made, not born, through developing both scientific knowledge and art of application.
