 I tried to convey a sense of brand identity and
consistency across my three pieces of work (trailer,
poster and magazine) in a number of ways.
 The font I have used for the masthead on my
magazine cover is the same sans serif font
(‘BEBAS NEUA’) as the font I have used for the
masthead (name of the film) on my poster. This
creates a sense of brand identity which helps to link
the poster and the magazine together.
 I have used the same colour palette for my
magazine cover as I have for my poster which also
creates a sense of brand identity.

 My trailer was edited into black and white, the key
image on the poster is also black and white which
links the poster and the trailer together.
 The font used for my magazine’s slogan (‘UK’s
Number One Film Magazine’) is the same as the
font used for the subtitle (‘A Film By Matthew
Chamberlain’) on my poster.

 Both my trailer and my magazine convey the same
‘Unique Selling Point’ which is the name of the
‘BAFTA award winning director’ (Matthew J.
Chamberlain). The director is portrayed as being
highly successful and popular, this attracts
audiences.

6. COLOUR SCHEME
 The colour scheme for my magazine cover and my
poster is red, gold, black and white as this is a
common colour palette for a film noir poster and
magazine.
 Red has connotations of love, passion, hate,
vengeance and death, these are key elements in
the plot of the film.
 Gold has always been associated with the film noir
genre because gold was often used in ‘Art Deco’
architecture.
 Black and white are also associated with film noir
films as they were traditionally filmed in black and
white and my film is black and white.

7. IMPROVEMENTS I COULD HAVE MADE
 I could have used all of the same fonts on my
magazine cover and my poster because the tag line
(‘FROM THE DIRECTOR OF DOUBLE
INDEMNITY’) on my magazine cover uses a font
which I have not used for my poster.
 If I used all the same fonts there would be more of
a sense of continuity and the magazine cover and
poster would complement each other more.
 I could have also made the key image on the
magazine cover black and white using Photoshop
as well as on the poster, this would also increase
the sense of continuity between the two pieces of
work.

8. IMPROVEMENTS I COULD HAVE MADE
 In the trailer I could have included a list of the
organisations, cast and actors/actresses involved in
the trailer at the end of the trailer like in professional
theatrical trailers.
 This would have added more impact and made the
trailer appear more profressional.
