Louboutin v. Yves St. Laurent
Yves St. Laurent has been using our red soles for heels we are suing for infringement. A trademark is a
symbol, word, or brand that registered or established by use of representing a company or product in
the case of Louboutin v. Yves St. Laurent, the trademark for Louboutin is red which in this case the

breaking/violating the terms of the law or an agreement, infringement could also be described as
plagiarism. Plagiarism is stealing someone else s work and passing it off as their own work, and Yves

Cannabis Legalization
The Legalization of Cannabis The legalization of cannabis has been a very popular topic lately. A large
majority of Americans feel that cannabis products should be legal in the United States. With new
research, researchers have discovered that cannabis is essentially harmless, and is safer than legal
products such as alcohol and tobacco. Most states have already legalized medical use, and more states
are following the trend of Colorado to legalize recreational cannabis.
Cannabis should be legal because it is a victimless crime. It is not the government s role to dictate
what their citizens can or cannot put into their bodies. Cannabis is a safe way for someone to relieve
stress after a long day. It also has many medicinal benefits that fight various diseases, including
Cancer, PTSD, Parkinsons, and more.
The medicinal benefits of cannabis are nothing short of amazing. Many veterans come back from war,
mentally destroyed. Cannabis helps veterans and victims of PTSD tremendously. It relieves the
tension and episodes that trigger their PTSD. Also when someone has a severe injury, they are given
opiates (powerful painkillers) which are very dangerous, and addictive. Cannabis is a much safer
alternative than opiates, and does the same job by dulling or even numbing the pain. In states that have
legalized, opiate usage and overdose statistics have dropped tremendously. After Colorado s
legalization of recreational cannabis, opioid related deaths decreased 6%.
Cannabis is also a

I Chose Roses And Birds Number 5 By Kiki Smith Essay
I chose Roses and Birds Number 5 by Kiki Smith as my western piece and for my non western piece I
chose a Spanish Colonial piece called Ornaments. I was originally drawn to Roses and Birds Number
5 because of the thin lines, the flowers, and how its fragility added an aura of femininity. Upon closer
inspection of the art, I appreciated the artist s use of Nepalese paper as her canvas. Unlike Kiki Smith
s piece, I wasn t immediately drawn to Ornaments. The metal, while shiny, looked cold and hard. The
piece is a floral arrangement, but looking at it I couldn t envision the soft petals of flowers. Once I put
aside my personal feelings and started observing the piece from the stand point of my Art
Appreciation class, I can see the effort and elements the artist must have used. That is why I chose it
as my contrast for this paper. In this paper, I will attempt to compare and contrast a western and non
western piece of art using the visual elements and the design principles I ve learned this semester. I
will also explain why I believe the western artist was influenced by non western art and give a brief
description of the artist and the culture that inspired them. Kiki Smith was born in Nuremberg,
Germany in 1954. Her father was an American artist who specialized in sculptor. Having a parent who
studied and practiced art would have no doubt given Kiki Smith the ability to expand her own artistic
pursuits from a young age. However, as she grew into adulthood, she

The Serial Peripheral Interphase
The Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) is a synchronous bi directional (full duplex) serial data protocol
used by microcontrollers to enable communication between one or more peripheral devices that are all
of short distances to one another. Furthermore, it can also be used for communication between two
microcontrollers; with particular interest between Arduino boards and Multiwii flight controllers. In
general, an SPI data link consists of one master; typically a microcontroller which controls one or
more peripheral devices known as slaves. Both the master and the slaves share three common lines
which include; MISO (Master In Slave Out) which is responsible for transferring data from the slave
to the master; MOSI (Master Out Slave In) which is responsible for transferring data from the master
to the slaves; and SCK (Serial Clock) which is created by the master and is responsible for
synchronising the transmission of data between master and slave in respect clock pulses. There is also
SS (Slave Select) line that is specific to a pin on each slave device and in which the master can use to
enable and disable specific slave devices. In the case a slave device s SS pin is low, communication is
enabled with the master. However in the case it is high, communication is disabled with the master.
This allows multiple devices using SPI to share common MISO, MOSI, and CLK lines. Full duplex
data transmission occurs during each clock cycle generated by the master in which the master

East Australian Current Essay
The East Australian Current (EAC) is a surface current driven by winds over the South Pacific.
Thousands of marine animals travel on this current to reach warmer, seasonal waters or breeding
grounds. With or without animals, the current continuously moves. Mission trips are like the East
Australian Current. I have learned that the mission never ends, sweeps travelers along, and takes
people places they could never have gone on their own.
The mission will continue with or without Sunnydale s participation. Mission trips at Sunnydale are
not isolated outreach programs. The mission is much bigger than this school. The worldwide mission
system has corresponding mission trips to cover their diverse cultures and countries. The Adventist
church is not original; missions extend far beyond their denomination. In fact, the mission itself goes
beyond religion and reaches people to aid medical needs, disaster calls, and moral degradation. I
learned that the mission here at Sunnydale means spreading God in any way, shape, or form.

One reason why I believe that kids should do competitive sports is that competitive sports are healthy.
Even though a big part of your health is depended on your diet and what you eat, I still think that
exercise is a huge part in a kids health because there are many benefits that you can learn, practice and

I believe that not letting your kid do sports is wrong because it is normal and alright for a kid to get
hurt while playing because it can help them learn from it. Getting injured is bad for kids but that kids
should do competitive sports because kids can gain more self esteem, learn to work better with others,
and be more healthy. Self esteem cannot be handed to kids; they have to earn it. Competition is one
way kids earn self esteem. When you develop a talent and work hard for a result, it feels great. When
you fail and learn that can bounce back, you feel more confident in yourself because you understand
that you have resilience. Team sports teach kids how to work well with their teammates. It also brings
out the natural leader in them. Later in life when they are working in the real world, the skills that they
developed in working together comes into play. A big part of being successful in life and work is being
collaborative and working well with others. Researchers believe playing high school sports, which
usually involve regular practices and competitions, reduces a child s chances of having a weight
problem because of the strenuous and consistent workouts. Therefore, study authors conclude,
increasing a child s opportunity to play sports, even if they are not gifted athletes, should be a priority,
especially for teens and children entering middle school or high

Accounting Is The Language Of Business
Introduction
Accounting is the language of business. It is a profession that is being guided by principles, concepts,
conventions, laws, etc. All these fundamental building blocks serve as common and general
compasses to all practitioners of the profession. In some cases, they are nation wide tailored, while in
other cases, they are universally tailored. Accounting as a living, practical, dynamic and realistic
profession covers so many areas of social, economic (business), and governmental activities. Surely,
any endeavour that involves monetary and material activities create a room for the services of
Accounting. Many of the human endeavours for which the accounting profession plays significant
(some times inevitable) roles include; Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, Farming Contracting, Oil
and Gas, Mining, Transportation (Air, Land and Sea), Educational Institutions, Churches, Ministries,
ICT, Hire Purchase, Local Government Authorities, Estate Businesses, Export and Import Businesses,
Bill of Exchange Transactions, Royalties Transactions, Consignment Transactions, Stock Market
Transactions, Sports, Entertainment, Hospitals and Hospitality Industry, etc.
Amongst these activities where the role of the Accounting Profession has been recognized, the very
one that enjoys the focus of this presentation is Hire Purchase. There are various definitions of Hire
Purchase, but one main meaning. These definitions include:

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Compulsory License
A compulsory license is an authorization given by a national authority granted without the permission
of the patent/IPR holder. Historically speaking, a compulsory license can be invoked on one of the
various grounds, and should be issued on a case by case basis. Using compulsory license is one of the
flexibilities retained under TRIPS, and hence permitting Member States to determine the appropriate
circumstances within certain limits. Particularly, compulsory licensing provisions in India have been
under criticism regarding compliance with international treaties. The Indian Patent Act does not
confine the grounds to public health needs only. The grounds and types of compulsory license under
the Indian Patent Act are listed in Table 3 succinctly. This part would discuss the failure of working

In order to adjust high prices brought by granting exclusivity to IPR owners, some countries assert that
using local working requirements as a means to the end. Labeling this rationale as protectionism,
Cottier et al. argue that there are still other useful means to achieve the same end, such as increasing
foreign direct investment (FDI) or reverse engineering. The positive relationship between FDI and
IPR protection has long been argued, while the latitude for competitors to reverse engineer is
decreasing owing to the higher harmonization pressure from IPR maximalist countries. Conversely,
the quality of human resources and business environmental soundness maybe has more influence on
FDI. Professor Ragavan points out with discernment that countries having increasing FDI are actually

Post Antibiotic Future
Since the introduction of penicillin to the public in 1942, antibiotics have gained widespread use
throughout the world. The drug has allowed society to make advancements in medicine, increase an
individual s personal well being, extend life expectancies, and stop and prevent infections. Antibiotics
are one of the largest backbones to maintaining personal health in society today, yet there may be a
day when we are no longer able to depend on antibiotics to fight infections. In the essay Imagining the
post antibiotic future , Maryn McKenna establishes the importance of antibiotics to juxtapose how
devastating life would be without them. McKenna first introduces the origin of penicillin and
antibiotics. The first known antibiotic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By weight, eighty percent of antibiotics are used in agriculture to fatten animals and protect them from
the conditions in which they are raised (McKenna). Animals are given micro doses of antibiotics, that
is, a small amount of antibiotics to prevent diseases from occurring. This micro dosage amount allows
for mutation that Fleming described. The routine use of antibiotics in agriculture has led to [sixty five]
percent of chicken breasts and [forty four] percent of ground beef to house bacteria resistant to
tetracycline . Additionally, [eleven] percent of pork chops carried bacteria resistant to five classes of
drugs (McKenna). These bacteria then spread from animals to the humans who eat them, causing
humans to get infections which cannot be treated. The issue isn t as simple as ceasing to give
antibiotics to animals. Most animals raised for consumption live in an environment ripe for infections
and diseases to spread. Instead of giving the animals more room to live, the majority of farmers opt to
give the animals antibiotics. For cattle, This prevents diseases and death to the immature weaned
calves and cattle which saves the rancher both time and money passing on the savings to the
consumers. In a free market society higher prices tend to not go well. However, if antibiotics became
useless farmers would have to [enlarge] barns, [cut] down on crowding, and [delay] weaning , which

Equality For Women s The Business World
Equality for Women in the Business World I have a question: when you think of a successful business
owner, who do you think of, a man or a women? Unfortunately, when most people think of a success
they automatically think of a man because society has instilled in us that men have the most power.
There has been improvement already made towards business women, but unfortunately working
women still do not have equal rights. Regina Blaszczyk said in the last sixty years there has been
revolutionary changes in the status of business women. Between the end of World War II and 1995,
women have entered the workforce with larger numbers and have also come in with managerial

The religion of Islam is the second largest belief system in the world with over one billion believers.
As of 2009, almost one quarter of the world s population follow after Islam, second only to
Christianity. But roughly 15 centuries ago, this was not true at all concerning Islam. The populations
that now embrace Islam have roots in a polytheistic society where Islam did not yet exist. Christianity
was clearly the dominant religion of that time period and the wide influence of the Byzantine Empire

During the time of the 7th century, Christianity was largely split into two main groups Orthodoxy and
Catholicism. These two counterparts of Christianity often times were at odds because of discrepancies
over where the true source of Church authority actually resided within the Byzantine Empire. As a
result, Christian fringe groups in countries such as Egypt or Palestine would be easily labeled as
heretics and would find themselves disassociated from the Church. When the Arab conquest claimed
these lands, they tended to show more tolerance for non Muslims in exchange for good citizenship
within the new Islamic environment. Also, Islam was fresh and hadn t begun to suffer from its own
power struggles from within the belief system. As Shenk writes, One wonders what parallels to
Muslim Spain might be found in the rise of an Islamic presence in the heart of the European Balkans.

Counterfeiting In The Fashion Industry
Consumers want quantity over quality. Nowadays, it appear more and more of the regular consumers
are uninterested in the quality of the product they buy, but rather how much they will acquire from it.
This leads to consumer purchasing fashion counterfeit products which is becoming a rising issue in the
United States and Europe. Counterfeiting is an illegal act of producing and selling a replica of an
authentic product without the permission of the designer. This market expands from movies, games,
money, even medicine to clothes and accessories. Counterfeiting is a fast growing industry that is a
worldwide problem which consumers play a vast role in. Aside from harmless pirated movies and the
danger of fake pharmaceuticals, fashion takes up the largest portion of counterfeit goods. To support
this statement, according to Simms, Thomas explained, luxury brands are among the most
counterfeited products today the World Customs Organization states that the fashion industry loses up
to $9.7 billion...per year to counterfeiting (Simms 2). The unethical act of counterfeiting continues to
rapidly increase, it is affecting almost all areas of the industry (Hilton et al. 346). This is a massive
problem because it impacts the world socially and economically. Since counterfeiting is illegal, sales
total are not being registered, therefore, it affects tax revenues and other government spending.

Role Of Fate In Oedipus The King
The theme of Fate (deed of the gods) versus free will (personal choices and actions) is ever present in
Greek drama. It is the concept that the lead character of a drama has no control over his Fate, which is
preconceived and inevitable. On the other hand, it has been argued that the character did have a choice
in the matter, and ultimately, it s their choices that lead to their destiny being fulfilled. In this essay, I
will be exploring the role of the gods in Sophocles Oedipus the King, and whether or not they are to
blame for his tragic downfall.
Oedipus the King begins with the audience gaining the knowledge that Thebes is in a state of disarray.
This, according to the oracle of Delphi, is due to the fact that the previous king, Laius, has not been
avenged, and that the only way Thebes will return to its previous glory is if the king s murderer takes
account for his actions (Sophocles). Oedipus, the noble and intellectual man that he is, makes a
promise to find whoever was responsible for the death of Laius, and make them atone for their sins. ...

And yet he has been led, either by blind chance or cruel gods, to commit the basest of crimes. All of
this suggests...that human beings are playthings of chance or indifferent gods and hence that it is
impossible for human beings to live nobly or to win the favour and protection of the gods
(Ahrensdorf, 2009).
In conclusion, I believe that the fates played a greater role than we are lead to believe, but I also
believe that the decisions made by all the characters played a pivotal role in the outcome of the drama.
The characters were most definitely given a freedom of choice when it came to almost every decision
they made, but the fates definitely put obstacles in their way, which would inevitably cause them to be
swayed to make rash

Property Taxes In Texas
Property taxes in Texas have not always been the most favorite bill a citizen has to pay, some are large
bills and some are small bills. Many legislatures and governors have played a role when it comes to
property taxes and how much each citizen should be taxed. Depending on the area you live in, when it
comes to school districts many have to pay taxes for more than one school district.
Property tax is a charge on property that the owner is responsible for paying. The tax is constructed on
the value of the property one owns and is often estimated by local or municipal governments. When
paying a property tax bill, the money goes to a number of important programs, city employees, police
officers, firefighters, and public works departments also receive pay. The property tax money is used
to pay for parks, traffic construction, street lights, sidewalks, and public transportation. Imposing a cap
on property taxes would not only impact communities but it will also create several major problems.
Cities would be affected and unable to hire employees in the public safety, since salaries and other
benefits would be increased. A cap would reduce job establishment and damage the state s economic

The Affordable Health Care Act
The United States spends twice as much per citizen for health insurance as any other country in the
entire world, but continues to fall behind other countries when it comes to coverage and quality
(Rangel, 2011). There are nearly forty six million uninsured Americans, and millions more have
inadequate coverage. The affordable health care act, was designed to help millions of Americans. But,
to Americans it is questionable at best. Obamacare is so fundamentally inconsistent that it is taking
Americans in the opposite direction of the necessary reforms needed. The root cause for our health
care system include misaligned reimbursement policies and incentives, lack of integrated patient care
process, and poorly coordinated patient care treatment (Health Care Delivery System Reform, 2015).
America cannot build sustainable health reform on a dysfunctional health care system. The United
States needs to get rid of Obamacare and pass a new comprehensive reform that makes health care
affordable for families, businesses, and the government.
Americas health care dates all the way back to the early 1900s when Teddy Roosevelt and his
progressive party endorsed health insurance into their platform (Kaiser). The medical definition for
health care is the maintaining and restoration of health by the treatment and prevention of disease
especially by trained and licensed professionals (Medical Definition of Health Care). Which includes
dentistry, clinical psychology, public health, and

Body Wall Tendons Research
Mark Jones
Writing Assignment 2
BIOL 510
4/11/2017
Tendons are one of the most important tissues in the body of any organism, transferring the power
created by the muscles to the bones and allowing coordinated body movements to occur. However,
until recently there was very little known about the origin of this tissue and most of the research
performed focused on the limbs and the tendons associated with them. Along with the limited amount
of research it seemed that not of them were focused on the axial and ventrolateral body wall tendons.
It was not until later that the discovery of Scleraxis, Scx, which is a bHLH transcription factor found
in, but not limited to, progenitor cells that eventually lead to tendon formation. The discovery of ...

In situ hybridization was used to visualize Scx expression and QCPN to identify quail cells. The two
layers of sclerotome transplanted from quail to chick indicated that quail cells produced Scx tendon
progenitors and sclerotome. It also produced a complete set of tendon progenitors between the
myotome layers, indicating they arose from both chick and quail cells. While transplanted quail and
host chick sclerotome indicated that the Scx expressing cells were entirely produced by quail cells.
This observation suggested that Scx expressing cells between two layers of myotome form from the
anterior and posterior edges to two adjacent somites. On the other hand, two adjacent dermomyotome
layers did not produce any Scx expressing tendon progenitors but, it did produce myotome and
dermotome. This observation lead to the conclusion that the dermomyotome produces myotome and
the sclerotome produces the syndetome. These results raised the question: why is Scx expression only
being observed on the anterior and posterior boundaries of the somite closest to the myotome and if a
signal from the myotome was responsible for the observed

Essay On Charter Schools
Since the 1980s, charter schools have allowed families to exercise school choice, a practice that had
begun a few decades earlier when parents preferred to control their children s education because of
religious views or racial prejudices. As dissatisfaction with the performance public schools grew
during the late 20th century, parents called on government to subsidize an arrangement where children
could receive adequate education outside of the traditional public school system. Thus, two major
school choice devices emerged: charter schools, privately run schools that receive public funding, and
tuition vouchers, which cover some or all of tuition at participating private schools.
Nevertheless, these options have become controversial establishments for a number of reasons.
Charter schools in particular have been criticized because they are run by independent private
organizations with less regulation than a traditional public schools and therefore, extraordinary
educational opportunities are just as common as extreme cases of operational negligence. An annual
Phi Delta Kappa poll on public schools reported that the nation was split on whether or not charter
schools should have the same required standards as local public schools. Communities with
satisfactory public schools typically said yes, and those with struggling public schools typically said
no. In Atlanta, reports of educational inadequacy, lack of diversity, and financial mismanagement
spurred the city s NAACP

Inheritance Money
Inheritance Money My English IV teacher, Mrs. Parker has been awarded $50,000. She plans to divide
it evenly between two of her most deserving students. I believe I should be one to receive this money
for countless reasons. For one, I am more mature than most of the students in the class. I make good
grades, am never tardy to class, I respect my authority, and am always will to do what I am told. I try
to not show off in class and keep myself humble. If given the money, I promise to be a good steward
and use it wisely. My plan is to put it to good use. I am not going to waste it on sex, drugs, or alcohol,
but instead for the benefit of others as well as myself. If I am chosen, I promise to study harder and

When I receive the $25,000, I will immediately put it to good use. The first thing I will do is donate

Gene And Betty Hoot Case Summary
The Burger King of Florida v. Gene and Betty Hoots of Matoon, IL. Case
The Hoots had remodeled a parking garage and turned it into a restaurant specializing in hamburgers,
calling it, Burger King. They registered Burger King with the state of Illinois as a trademark, only to
learn later that Burger King was a federally registered trademark of Burger King of Florida. Unable to
reach an agreement, the case went to federal court.
In a highly anticipated decision, the federal 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that since Burger King
of Florida had a federal registration, they had rights to the trademark anywhere in the United States
except the area of Mattoon, where the Hoots had maintained previous authentic use. Therefore, the

After plaintiffs opened a restaurant in Champaign, Illinois, defendants sued in the state court to
restrain plaintiffs use of the mark in Illinois. Plaintiffs then brought the federal suit, now before us,
and the defendants counter claimed for an injunction, charging plaintiffs with infringement of their
Illinois trade mark.
The district court found that Burger King s property right in the trademark was superior to Hoots s
because of the natural expansion of Burger King s business throughout Illinois but that Hoots still had
the right to use its trademark in the area in which it first adopted it innocently without notice of Burger
King s competing trademark. Hoots appealed.
The district court concluded, from the unchallenged findings, that plaintiffs federal registration is
prima facie evidence of the validity of the registration and ownership of the mark; that plaintiffs have
both a common law and a federal right in the mark superior to defendants in the area of natural
expansion of plaintiffs enterprise which logically included all of Illinois, except where defendants had
actually adopted and used the mark, innocently, i. e., without notice and in good faith; and that the
defendants had adopted and continuously used the mark in the Mattoon area innocently and were
entitled to protection in that

Analysis Of Broca s Aphasia, A Language And The Brain
PURPOSE The purpose of this paper is to pursue one important and fundamental aim: language and
the brain are purely inseparable since it allows us to perform essential tasks such as generating,
comprehending and expressing speech. With damage to the brain, individuals can no longer perform
such tasks which can ultimately lead to many types of language disorders. The focus of this paper is
Broca s aphasia, a language disorder characterized by the inability to produce written and spoken
speech. Damage to the brain can cause many types of speech impairments as well as comprehension
deficits. INTRODUCTION The ability of humans to speak and understand language is made possible

When the particular information processes in the brain fails and causes Broca s aphasia, a chain
reaction occurs consequently leading to various speech disorders. As for the individual s
comprehension, it has been long believed to remain unaffected although studies are beginning to prove
otherwise. DAMAGE IN THE BRAIN As Thompson states, A sufferer of Broca s aphasia may
understand completely the sentences of others. However, he may not be able to speak at all, or may
speak in sentences that are hard to understand (Thompson, 2013). Toivonen, a professor at Carleton
University, discussed the significance of information flow in the brain using the example of reading
out loud. This example illustrates the phenomenon that when an area of the information pathway is
damaged, correspondingly, the message relay can become interrupted. First and for most, the process
of articulating begins with the Wernicke s area of the brain activating when an individual accesses and
interprets the lexicon, their mental dictionary. From there, the arcuate fascicles, a bundle of nerve
fibres, transmits information sent from the Wernicke s area to the Broca s area. The Broca s area then
interprets this information and transmits articulatory information to the motor cortex. Finally, the
motor cortex directs movement of the muscles to produce and pronounce speech. (Toivonen,

Richard Cory American Dream
One of Edwin Arlington Robinson s most popular and well known poems, Richard Cory, was first
published in 1987. The poem is a narrative that illustrates how the poor perceived a powerful, wealthy,
and well educated man who unexpectedly committed suicide. From the poor s perception, the reader
has a limited point of view into Richard Cory s personal life; therefore, we are unable to understand
Richard Cory s reasoning for committing suicide. What the reader does know is that Richard Cory was
living the American Dream, a desirable lifestyle to the poor people of society. While the definition has
changed throughout history, the American Dream has become known as the ideal that every US citizen
should have an equal opportunity to achieve success, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The last two lines of the first stanza show Richard Cory s high social/economic status: He was a
gentleman from sole to crown, clean favored, and imperially slim. During this time period, gentlemen
were considered high class men, not just kind and respectful. The phrases from soul to crown and
imperially slim portray Richard Cory as royal, expressing the poor s perception of Richard Cory as a
celebrity. In the second stanza, the narrator describes Richard Cory as being quietly arrayed (line 5),
meaning he was dressed in conservative apparel, not trying to draw attention to himself. This shows
Richard Cory was humble despite his high economic/social status. Although Richard Cory is
portrayed as down to earth and human when he talked (line 6), the poor were charmed with fluttered
pulses (line 7) by his greetings along the street. The last line of the second stanza shows the poor
people s admiration for Richard Cory: he glittered (shined) when he walked. Such admiration and awe
for an upper class man makes Richard Cory a celebrity figure in the poor s perception. Not only was
Richard Cory of high status and good nature, he was living the American

Clancy of the Overflow Analysis
Bush poetry gives people a unique and interesting prospective into the people who made this country

poet AB Banjo Paterson. Clancy of the overflow is about a person from the city who met a drover/
shearer named Clancy. After meeting him he becomes jealous of Clancy s lifestyle which is better than
his city life. In this poem Banjo uses a variety of poetic devices to get his message across like the use
of suggestive language, descriptive language and imagery. Banjo uses suggestive language to make

Banjo does this to persuade the reader in believing that the country lifestyle which is portrayed as free,
clean and laid back is better than the city lifestyle which is portrayed as dirty, hot and boring. Banjo
also makes the reader believe that the attractiveness of living off the land and idealizing the country
life as a drover making the quality of life in the country seems greater than in the city. Banjo uses
imagery and the first person point of view to help the reader imagine what it would be like to be a
drover. The person living in the city imagines what Clancy the drover is doing and feeling while he is
stuck in a hot office all day. As the stock are slowly stringing, Clancy rides behind them singing and
also He sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended and at night the wondrous glory of the
everlasting stars. The city living character is conveying what Clancy the drover is doing and how
peaceful it would be if he could do the same. He also says And I somehow fancy that I d like to
change with Clancy. This suggests that the city living character is somewhat jealous of Clancy, his job
and his lifestyle. The city living character furthermore explains the city life as Of the tramways and
the buses making hurry down the street, and the language uninviting of the gutter children fighting .
This suggests that the he doesn t like his life in the city and considers it as busy and also

When it comes to weight loss, it seems as though there is a constant quest for a magic elixir that will

It is the proficiency of this ancient seed to absorb many times its weight in water for that inducing

Social Problems Within The Australian Society
A Social Analysis Homelessness There are a growing number of social problems existing within the
Australian society and unfortunately, research does not need to prove this. All it takes is a stroll down
the main street of some suburbs to realise the extent of social problems within society. Homelessness
is a rising trend that is affecting people of all demographics. Homelessness is more than just a simple
disadvantage; with usually many underpinning factors which contribute to it, such as domestic
violence, financial stress, mental illness and drug use. Homelessness is an issue around the globe,
however when focusing on the issue within an Australian context it stems back quite a long way. In

(Johnson and Chamberlain, 2008) These factors impact directly on people within society and lead to
extensive financial strain, which ultimately leaves them as a high risk of homelessness. In addition to
this, it is believed that domestic violence is a primary cause for homelessness particularly amongst
women and children. (Ultius, 2017) A whole issue within itself is the accessibility to social housing
for vulnerable Australians, with many families needing to seek short term or crisis accommodation
due to the lack of availabilities within the social housing sector, and for those who are able to obtain
housing within the private sector often fall victim to private landlords as they display forms of power
when rent falls into arears. These people then become victims within the private market, often
becoming blacklisted by landlords and their agents. It is believed that private renters who attempt to
advocate for their rights are often locked out of their premises due to disruptive behaviour. (Sharam
and Hulse, 2014) There is also a considerable amount of government pressure that damages any
person s attempt at improving their financial situation. An

  • 3. Cannabis Legalization The Legalization of Cannabis The legalization of cannabis has been a very popular topic lately. A large majority of Americans feel that cannabis products should be legal in the United States. With new research, researchers have discovered that cannabis is essentially harmless, and is safer than legal products such as alcohol and tobacco. Most states have already legalized medical use, and more states are following the trend of Colorado to legalize recreational cannabis. Cannabis should be legal because it is a victimless crime. It is not the government s role to dictate what their citizens can or cannot put into their bodies. Cannabis is a safe way for someone to relieve stress after a long day. It also has many medicinal benefits that fight various diseases, including Cancer, PTSD, Parkinsons, and more. The medicinal benefits of cannabis are nothing short of amazing. Many veterans come back from war, mentally destroyed. Cannabis helps veterans and victims of PTSD tremendously. It relieves the tension and episodes that trigger their PTSD. Also when someone has a severe injury, they are given opiates (powerful painkillers) which are very dangerous, and addictive. Cannabis is a much safer alternative than opiates, and does the same job by dulling or even numbing the pain. In states that have legalized, opiate usage and overdose statistics have dropped tremendously. After Colorado s legalization of recreational cannabis, opioid related deaths decreased 6%. • 5. I Chose Roses And Birds Number 5 By Kiki Smith Essay I chose Roses and Birds Number 5 by Kiki Smith as my western piece and for my non western piece I chose a Spanish Colonial piece called Ornaments. I was originally drawn to Roses and Birds Number 5 because of the thin lines, the flowers, and how its fragility added an aura of femininity. Upon closer inspection of the art, I appreciated the artist s use of Nepalese paper as her canvas. Unlike Kiki Smith s piece, I wasn t immediately drawn to Ornaments. The metal, while shiny, looked cold and hard. The piece is a floral arrangement, but looking at it I couldn t envision the soft petals of flowers. Once I put aside my personal feelings and started observing the piece from the stand point of my Art Appreciation class, I can see the effort and elements the artist must have used. That is why I chose it as my contrast for this paper. In this paper, I will attempt to compare and contrast a western and non western piece of art using the visual elements and the design principles I ve learned this semester. I will also explain why I believe the western artist was influenced by non western art and give a brief description of the artist and the culture that inspired them. Kiki Smith was born in Nuremberg, Germany in 1954. Her father was an American artist who specialized in sculptor. Having a parent who studied and practiced art would have no doubt given Kiki Smith the ability to expand her own artistic pursuits from a young age. However, as she grew into adulthood, she ... • 6. The Serial Peripheral Interphase The Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) is a synchronous bi directional (full duplex) serial data protocol used by microcontrollers to enable communication between one or more peripheral devices that are all of short distances to one another. Furthermore, it can also be used for communication between two microcontrollers; with particular interest between Arduino boards and Multiwii flight controllers. In general, an SPI data link consists of one master; typically a microcontroller which controls one or more peripheral devices known as slaves. Both the master and the slaves share three common lines which include; MISO (Master In Slave Out) which is responsible for transferring data from the slave to the master; MOSI (Master Out Slave In) which is responsible for transferring data from the master to the slaves; and SCK (Serial Clock) which is created by the master and is responsible for synchronising the transmission of data between master and slave in respect clock pulses. There is also SS (Slave Select) line that is specific to a pin on each slave device and in which the master can use to enable and disable specific slave devices. In the case a slave device s SS pin is low, communication is enabled with the master. However in the case it is high, communication is disabled with the master. This allows multiple devices using SPI to share common MISO, MOSI, and CLK lines. Full duplex data transmission occurs during each clock cycle generated by the master in which the master ... • 7. East Australian Current Essay The East Australian Current (EAC) is a surface current driven by winds over the South Pacific. Thousands of marine animals travel on this current to reach warmer, seasonal waters or breeding grounds. With or without animals, the current continuously moves. Mission trips are like the East Australian Current. I have learned that the mission never ends, sweeps travelers along, and takes people places they could never have gone on their own. The mission will continue with or without Sunnydale s participation. Mission trips at Sunnydale are not isolated outreach programs. The mission is much bigger than this school. The worldwide mission system has corresponding mission trips to cover their diverse cultures and countries. The Adventist church is not original; missions extend far beyond their denomination. In fact, the mission itself goes beyond religion and reaches people to aid medical needs, disaster calls, and moral degradation. I learned that the mission here at Sunnydale means spreading God in any way, shape, or form. Thousands of years ago, Jesus showed a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not many people choose to vacation in the middle of a rural tribe of villages, or shop in the dirtiest country of the world for their leisure. The people, places, and experiences you gather are worth more than any monetary value can satisfy. It geographically and mentally broadens how you see the world. Not only can the mission take someone around the globe, but it changes the landscapes of their heart. It is the concept that the lead character of a drama has no control over his Fate, which is preconceived and inevitable. On the other hand, it has been argued that the character did have a choice in the matter, and ultimately, it s their choices that lead to their destiny being fulfilled. In this essay, I will be exploring the role of the gods in Sophocles Oedipus the King, and whether or not they are to blame for his tragic downfall. Oedipus the King begins with the audience gaining the knowledge that Thebes is in a state of disarray. This, according to the oracle of Delphi, is due to the fact that the previous king, Laius, has not been avenged, and that the only way Thebes will return to its previous glory is if the king s murderer takes account for his actions (Sophocles). First and for most, the process of articulating begins with the Wernicke s area of the brain activating when an individual accesses and interprets the lexicon, their mental dictionary. As the stock are slowly stringing, Clancy rides behind them singing and also He sees the vision splendid of the sunlit plains extended and at night the wondrous glory of the everlasting stars. The city living character is conveying what Clancy the drover is doing and how peaceful it would be if he could do the same. He also says And I somehow fancy that I d like to change with Clancy. This suggests that the city living character is somewhat jealous of Clancy, his job and his lifestyle.
