2. The Effects of Different Disinfectants on Bacteria Essay
I chose to do the effects of different disinfectants on bacteria because I have always wondered if
disinfectants such as Clorox, Lysol, and hand sanitizer actually kill 99.9 percent of germs. Also, I
know that there are harsh chemicals that can be damaging to us over time. Do these harsh chemicals
get the job done? Maybe taking a green, organic way could be the solution in the future. My main
question is which is the better disinfectant, Clorox Disinfecting Wipes or Lysol Disinfecting Wipes. I
want to uncover the truth about each product and show the reality of both. Are they really getting the
job done?

3. Analyze The Changes Between The Qin And Han Dynasty
The Qin and Han dynasties changed many things regarding how China was governed. Like when Qin
Shi Huang standardized the units of measurement, currency, and the width of roads to ease trade

of education. They let all boys receive an education to a certain extent, however, if they wanted to
further their education more they would have to travel to the capital. One of the several changes Qin
Shi Huang changed how dictators controlled China in many ways how he distributed his land and
power. Many of the changes he implemented were used by Chinese rulers for over 2000 years, these
changes created a lasting effect on how China was ruled. The Qin

A Franciscan is a priest of a Christian religious order founded in the early 13th century by St. Francis

5. Linear Programming
The development of linear programming has been ranked among the most important scientific
advances of the mid 20th century. Its impact since the 1950 s has been extraordinary. Today it is a
standard tool used by some companies (around 56%) of even moderate size. Linear programming uses
a mathematical model to describe the problem of concern. Linear programming involves the planning
of activities to obtain an optimal result, i.e., a result that reaches the specified goal best (according to
the mathematical model) among all feasible alternatives.
Linear Programming as seen by various reports by many companies has saved them thousands to even
millions of dollars. Since this is true why isn t everyone using Linear Programming? Maybe the ...

I believe that every company should be using LP and I have hypothesized that linear programming
increases both EPS, ROI and by definition Profit. This research therefore assumes that a company not
using LP would have made less money than one that did use LP. The sample is 28 companies and I felt
this would be sufficient as a sample size as statisticians typically recommend a minimum of 20 data
points (in this case companies) in order to test a hypothesis. The companies are located in and near the
state of Delaware and also include New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
This research is not exhaustive and therefore will not be final in terms of how it is interpreted but it
will assist others who wish to use much larger samples and over much longer periods of time to refine
the results and potentially prove that LP does have a consistent improvement effect on a company s
profits, ROI and EPS measures of performance. Method
I used the survey research method as the basis of my research design. Calls were made to each
company that was randomly selected and for whom their results were collected. Each company was
asked the question Can we speak to your corporate planning and decision support function . If they
were unsure of which department was meant, we would then ask Can we speak to the key people

The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight but has no vision. ~Helen Keller .
Helen Keller is trying to say that the most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight, so
the ability to see perfectly, but has no vision, so someone who cannot see beyond what is visible. In
the novel Tangerine, Edward Bloor uses the motif of sight to show that just because someone can see
clearly, it doesn t mean that they can see the world how it really is. In the novel Tangerine, Paul Fisher
can see very clearly with his glasses, but can also see beyond what is visible to him. In this quote, Paul
sees Erik and Arthur making fun of Mark and how he looked when he got struck by lightning: I looked
through the patio doors and saw Erik and Arthur. They were laughing. I stepped closer... and I could

happens afterwards: Arthur reached Luis, turned, and whipped the blackjack with a loud whack
against the side of Luis s head. Luis s arms shot up to cover his head as he staggered to the right and
fell on one knee... Arthur takes care of all my light work. Erik and the rest of them caught up with

9. Nuclear Weapons Be Abolished
Should nuclear weapons be abolished? How would removing and prohibiting nuclear weapons change
the world? Well, When it comes to abolishing or getting rid of nuclear weapons; particularly, nuclear
bombs or warheads mounted on a long range ballistic missile; There is plenty of controversy and
argument over this topic. The world has had plenty of instances where if nuclear bombs were not in
play, The situation would have been a more peaceful experience. But speaking in long term effects,
How would not having and nukes around truly change the world? And how would it effect the history
of mankind? When it comes to the pros with ridding the earth of powerful nuclear weaponry, people
who prefer them gone believe this would influence a more peaceful future for humanity, And create a
safer world for the generations to come. This would take years to accomplish and plenty of
negotiations with other nations, But the end result would be a huge step towards world peace. The
smaller weaker and poorer nations around the world would feel less worried about getting picked on
by richer and larger countries. People who believe the banning of nukes would greatly reduce and
chances of an all out nuclear war ravishing the earth with radiation, And ending the lives of millions if
not billions of men, women, and children. A nuclear war could have the potential of creating a
apocalyptic world devastating all nations who live on it to nothing but ashes, and leaving only pieces

Without the help of Ghulam Ali and a positive mind, Farah Ahmedi wouldn t have been able to escape

How does the rural influence affect rural emergency room nurses transitioning from curative to end of
life care? Since there are limited resources in rural hospitals, it is necessary to explore the rural
influence on rural emergency room (ER) nurses transitioning from curative to end of life care
(Rolland, 2016). It was necessary to capture areas of need to best support rural nurses caring for dying
patients and their families in the rural communities. Rural populations are poorly represented in
research (Rolland, 2016). The perceptions of Rural ER Nurses concerning end of life care obstacles
has been explored. A questionnaire was used to rank obstacles. The lowest ranking obstacles were
nurses not being comfortable with caring for dying patients and or their families. Among the highest
ranking obstacles was knowing the patient or family personally. The rural nursing theory was

Ethics is perhaps one of the most significant disciplines that should always be evident in every

ensure the highest quality of service to the public (Ballada, 2015). Moreover, knowledge on ethics
enables an individual to make a more reasoned judgement regarding what is morally right from wrong
when faced with ethical dilemmas.
However, with the increasing number of incidents of fraud and other related unethical practices like
bribery and funds embezzlement, ethics seems to be the most neglected. Many professional

Promotional Strategy Suggestions for Exercise Equipment and Breakfast Cereal
For any product to be sold successfully, especially to the mass market, the firm selling the product will
need to be marketed with a promotion. Promotion is one of the four elements of the marketing mix,
referring to the way in which a product is promoted this is more than just advertising, it includes
public relations, endorsement and any activity which will help to increase awareness of the product
and support the development of sales (Hooley et al, 2007). Promotional strategies are required in order
to create awareness in the potential target market regarding the product, and to help stimulate sales by
influencing the decision making process (Kotler and Keller, 2011). In order to demonstrate the
application of promotion strategies to different products can be examined, with promotional strategies
those products suggested. The two products are exercise equipment and breakfast cereals.
Exercise Equipment
Designing a commercial strategy to exercise equipment requires the marketer to identify the message
that will suitably communicate not only the purpose and function of the product being sold, but why
and how it will satisfy needs of the consumer. Kotler and Keller (2011) argue that people do not buy
products; they buy the benefits that are provided by the product. For example, when purchasing a bed
the buyer is purchasing the ability to get a good night s sleep, when a consumer purchases a

Of the five senses that humans employ in everyday life, taste and sight are two of the more interesting
senses. They are continually developed throughout our entire lives and we are exposed to new sights
and tastes everyday. Many people think that our senses are all unique and independent of each other,
but taste and sight are surprising similar in many aspects, such as their development. Not only are taste
and sight developed similarly, but they are also affected by familiarity, socialization, and memory.
Although many people in the world believe that all our senses are different in function and
development, taste and sight have a unique connection between the two senses that makes them very

Their taste in food is clearly based on socialization, creating a diet that would maximize their
performance at the job they performed on a day to day basis. Sight also has a large association with
familiarity. Many of the everyday things that humans see in the world do not surprise them at all, as
they have seen those things throughout their whole lives. Some images and objects, however, invoke
many emotions from a person, such as anger or fear. Humans, therefore, try to see only things that
they are familiar with. Most humans do not want to see images of war, poverty, death or destruction,
and they, therefore, try to steer clear of such images. As Thomas Gray once said, ignorance is bliss,
which allows humans to block out disturbing images in order to make them feel happier and more
secure about their lives with the images they are familiar with. Socialization also plays a large part of
our sense of sight as humans. During infancy is when the majority of our learning takes place and our
sense of sight is no exception. Babies learn from the area and culture that they are born into, which
affects their visual perception of the world. People born into the culture of third world countries
become more accustomed to seeing things like poverty and war, while many people in first world
countries would be unfamiliar with those images. Being familiar with a

24. Compare And Contrast The Buttercream Gangs And Unsung Heroes
Unsung Heroes If there s something I am good at, it is being lazy and letting my favorite movies roll
all day. I am not very good at picking good movies. Most of the films that catch my eye seem to be
low budget with poor quality or I don t give them a chance to intrigue me. When I do finally decide to
go beyond the first ten or so minutes, I usually end up so absorbed that I lose track of time and all the
obligations I have that day. The movie that comes in at about a four on my favorite movie list is, The
Sandlot . Another movie I enjoy but not very publicized is, The Buttercream Gang. After getting down
to the nitty gritty, it really amazes me just how similar these two movies really are! Both movies

himself caught up in theft, bullying, and other unlawful nonsense within the town. The rest of the gang
tried to mend bridges with him but he did not want anything to do with the boys or the good that they
were trying to do. The falling action begins when Benny jumps back over the fence and the fence falls
on top of the Beast. Scotty feels bad for the dog and pleads for Benny to help free him. The Beast has
a change in behavior and shows the boys all the baseballs that he has accumulated from flying over
the fence. The boys of the Buttercreamers decide that they are going to kill Pete with kindness. No
matter how rude he was to the boys, they would not stoop to his level. They would simply just turn the
other cheek. Finally reaching the resolution, the Sandlot crew grew up and all moved away. Scotty
became a baseball broadcaster and the courageous Benny went on to be Benny The Jet Rodriguez and

25. One Ring In The Hobbit
A symbol in The Hobbit is the One Ring. Rings normally symbolise eternity, and longevity because a
circle has no ending, but the One Ring symbolised both good and evil characteristics, like power and
commitment, but temptation and having no control. In the story, one example of someone who had no
control was Gollum, the corrupted hobbit. Gollum started out as a nice hobbit named Sméagol, but he
inadvertently found the One Ring and became addicted to it. He had no control over what he was
doing, and was tempted by the ring s power and kept on using it. Finally he became fully corrupted
and called the ring my precious and he started screaming and crying when Bilbo took the One Ring
from him. The book says: He wanted it because it was a ring of power, and if you slipped that ring on
your finger, you were invisible; only in full sunlight could you be seen, and then only by your shadow,
and that would be shaky and faint. The book also says this: Gollum used to wear it at first, till it ...

every cave and hollow; and the darkness is filled with overwhelming noise and light. Bilbo had never
seen or imagined anything of the kind. They were high up in a narrow place, with a dreadful fall into a

Summary: Pay It Forward, written by Catherine Hyde, is about a boy named Trevor who was tasked

program, a branching system of good deeds under the notion that instead of paying back a favor, a
person would instead do favors of high importance for three other people. Although his first favor
attempt with a homeless man appeared to have failed, Trevor s second favor for his teacher began a
chain of events that lead to the sparing of one s man life. Soon Trevor s idea become a national event
that promotes altruistic acts, even resulting with his first act of kindness to pay his favor forward.

In Ancient Greece, bankruptcy did not exist. If a man owed and he could not pay, he and his wife,
children or servants were forced into debt slavery , until the creditor recouped losses via their physical
labour. Many city states in ancient Greece limited debt slavery to a period of five years and debt slaves
had protection of life and limb, which regular slaves did not enjoy. However, servants of the debtor
could be retained beyond that deadline by the creditor and were often forced to serve their new lord
for a lifetime, usually under significantly harsher conditions.

The Joint Stock Companies Act 1844[9] allowed people to create companies without permission
through a royal charter. Companies had separate legal personality , the ability to sue and be sued, and
served as an easy mechanism for raising capital through the purchase of shares (an equitable title) in
the company s capital. The Act s corollary, to bring the existence of these legal persons to an end was
the Joint Stock Companies Winding Up Act 1844. The Limited Liability Act 1855 produced a further
innovation. Before, if a corporation had gone broke, the people that lent it money (creditors) could sue
all the shareholders to pay off the company s debts. But the 1855 Act said that shareholders liability
would be limited to the amount they had paid in their shares. So if you had invested £100 in a
company, but now the company owed millions of pounds, the creditors could not come after you for
the debts. You would lose £100 and no more. Your liability to pay debts was limited to the value of
your shares. The Joint Stock Companies Act 1856 consolidated the companies legislation in one, and
the modern law of corporate insolvency was born. Finally, the Bankruptcy Act 1869 was passed
allowing all people, rather than just traders to file for bankruptcy.

SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SELETAL, CARDIAC, AND SMOOTH
MUSCLE:
Skeletal Muscle Structure: skeletal muscles cells are like long fiber structures, That contain many
nuclei and are subdivided into smaller structures that are called myofibrils . The Myofibrils are created
of two kinds of myofilaments . Thin filaments are made of two strands of the protein actin and one
strand of a regulatory protein coiled with each other. Thick filaments are staggered arrays of myosin
molecules . * Organization Units of skeletal muscle. Filaments are organized into structures called the
sarcomeres . Sarcomeres are created in the following manners: * The Z lines are at the border of the
sarcomere . They align in adjacent myofibrils . *The I bands are areas that are near the edges of the
sarcomere containing only thin filament. * The A bands are regions where thick and thin filaments
overlap each other and correspond to the length of the thick filament.* The H zones are the areas in
the center of the A bands containing only thick filament. In vertebrates Cardiac Muscles: are only
found in the heart. Muscles cells are branched, and the junctions between the cells contain intercalated
discs that electrically connect all heart muscle cells with each other, allowing the co ordinated actions.
These cells can also create their own action potentials. In Smooth Muscles: There are no striations and
contain less myosin; the myosin is not associated with specific actin strand.

Failure to thrive is commonly seen by primary care physicians. It is important for a quick diagnosis to
avoid malnutrition and developmental delays. Failure to thrive has been defined as failure of expected
growth, usually weight, and well being and it is usually in early childhood years (Deborah K. Steward,
2003). Does this definition make it a problem of growth alone, or something more? There are many
factors that play into Failure to Thrive such as genes, internal problems, infections, problems during
pregnancy and poverty. There isn t one single thing that causes it. One thing everyone must remember
is that a child with failure to thrive, is not sick , they re unable to get the required nutrients to avoid

Hospitalization may occur, but this is the most uncommon of treatments. Most children with failure to
thrive are treated outside of a hospital. It often helps if the parent eats with the child to model good
eating habits. It is important to keep a consistent routine, use the foods a child likes, keep snacks
scheduled and follow doctor s orders. The child is also usually placed on a high calorie diet. Children
diagnosed with failure to thrive will need 150% of their recommended calorie intake based on their
expected weight, not their current weight. A child s energy need is almost triple of what an adults is
(Krugman, 2003). A high calorie diet can become tricky for infants, but their formula is usually
concentrated or rice can be added to pureed foods. There are two common things with failure to thrive
that children need, a high calorie diet for catch up growth and a close follow up to make sure the diet
changes are working effectively. This is important to ensure that the child is regaining typical

35. Role Of Women In Canterbury Tales
Canterbury Tales Essay The power struggle between man and woman has been tangible since the time
of Adam and Eve. In Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffrey Chaucer, a plethora of characters share
stories that reflect their personalities and lives. Several of these stories revolve around the female
position and focuses on the role they play in society. Although women are usually seen as subordinate
to the male, in Canterbury Tales, they are portrayed as independent human beings. The Wife of Bath
embodies her independence through her dominance over her first three husbands in marriage.
Additionally, Alison from The Miller s Tale is representative of this strong female character, for her
denial towards the males in her lives, manifests how independent she is.
The Wife of Bath s actions display a highly preeminent role of women. As the Wife of Bath explained
her marriages with her first three husbands, she notes that she is able to conquer them to either obtain
material possession or to simply gain their love. The Wife of Bath describes her overpowering feelings
towards her husbands by stating:
I ll have a husband yet Who shall be both my debtor and slave And bear his tribulation to the grave
Upon his flesh, as long as I m his wife For mine shall be the power all his life (Chaucer 262).
This statement demonstrates that the role of women, such as The Wife of Bath s, was to be a dominant
leader of the marriage. She describes her husband as her slaves and debtor,

Many of us anxiety sufferers have been so anxious for so long that we really have no idea of any other
kind of life. Some of us will think that feeling constantly anxious, sweating, afraid, and nervous about
everything is the way that we were meant to live and that things can be no other way. Some of us even
try to convince ourselves that we are the only ones who feel this way, while others try to convince
themselves that everyone feels this level of anxiety.
But, fortunately, there is another way to feel and to live life, no matter how hard we want to believe
otherwise. Confidence is the name of the feeling that is at the opposite extreme of anxious. Many of us
have only felt this feeling for but a few fleeting moments, while others have not experienced it for
years. Being anxious means that we are afraid of perceived threats or of failing, however that failure
might look like to us. Physical symptoms that we experience when are anxious can vary widely and

to enhance the quality of his or her life, situations such as one on one interpersonal interactions, being
able to go out in public, or perhaps being able to drive a car. Others like me, who are idealists, want to
completely eliminate that anxious feeling in all situations. Is this a realistic goal? The answer is
probably no. But, if one continues to pursue complete relaxation as a goal, then one will notice that
anxiety in many other situations reduces or eliminates entirely while pursuing this

40. Analysis Of Fortune Hath Taken Thee Away My Love
Fortune fine or poor, remains a top priority in Sir Walter Raleigh s poem, Fortune Hath Taken Thee
Away, My love. Each stanza is drenched in depressing diction; as a result, not much of the poem can
be taken so literally. There are six quatrains in this poem: In the first quatrain, the author introduces to
the reader he has lost his love because fortune took it or her away; never in the poem does the author
give a specific answer as to who or what his love is. Although, in the third line, Raleigh does refer to
his love as princess, so we could assume the subject of this poem and his love is female. Continuing
on to the second quatrain, the man goes on to say fortune took away everything from him, just by
taking his love away. Because of this, the author now makes fortune, itself, a mortal enemy. Next, in
the third quatrain, the author becomes angry, telling himself all of the reactions to the loss are in vain.
He curses his eyes for weeping, his sighs and his continued search for his love. Moving into the fourth
quatrain, the author accepts sorrow as his new princess, in place of the one he lost; he begins to accept
his new loss. In comparison to the second quatrain, in the fifth, the author is almost glad to be able to
experience any kind of fortune, due to the fact even kings experience fortune. Finally, in the sixth
quatrain the author brings in the supernatural force of Cupid. He goes on to say if Cupid had used
wisdom s eyes, the author would not be suffering as

43. The Theory Of The Equilibrium System
In this lab, Le Chatelier s Principle was observed by shifting different equilibriums to the left or right
in order to make the colors of the rainbow. The equilibrium shift could be identified by the colors of
the solution. In the tray 5 experiment, the reactant was pink and the product was a dark blue color.
After stressing the equilibrium, a pink color indicated that the equilibrium was shifted to the left, and a
blue color indicated that the equilibrium was shifted to the right. The stresses that were studied in this
experiment were changes in the temperature of the system and changes in concentrations of reactants
or products. Le Chatelier s Principle states that when an equilibrium system is subject to a stress, the
system responds by attaining a new equilibrium condition that minimizes the imposed stress. The
main stresses on an equilibrium system are changes in concentration of the reactants or products,
changes in temperature, and changes in pressure or volume for gaseous equilibria. The stress will
either not cause a shift in equilibrium or will cause the system to shift left of right in order to establish
an equilibrium. Adding or removing a pure solid or liquid does not change the concentration;
therefore, it does not affect equilibrium. Only aqueous solutions and gases affect equilibrium.
Increasing the concentration of the reactants will cause a shift to the right. Decreasing the
concentration of the products also has the same effect. Decreasing the

45. An Alcoholics Anonymous ( Aa ) Meeting Essay
I went to an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting on November 26, 2016 at noon in Simi Valley, CA.
It was in the back entrance of a strip mall in a long, thin room with tables down the middle and chairs
around the table and around the walls in the room. It is only located four minutes from my house, but I
have never noticed it before. As I walked in there was a little kitchen with coffee and a pecan pie and
there were goodies on the table. I them walked into the main room. A woman led the group for her
first time. Next to her sat the secretary who helped her out. She read some rules about the group and
asked if there were new members. I raised my hand and explained that I was a MFT student and that I
had come to observe the meeting. Everyone welcomed me and were very friendly and supportive.
Others introduced themselves and several were from out of town. Baskets were passed around for
those who wanted to donate. In the rules, it states that there were no dues or fees for AA membership,
but that each AA group was self supporting through their own contributions. Most people donated in a
dollar or two. Then the leader made some announcements. One that I thought was interesting was that
this AA group was going to have meetings all day on Thanksgiving to support those who needed help.
In the evening, there would be a Potluck Thanksgiving dinner. It was mentioned that two people were
bringing turkeys and another person was bringing a ham. I imagine that the holidays would be a

46. The Little Rock Nine
The Little Rock Nine
Living in the 21st Century, it is difficult to imagine a time in the history of the United States that black
students could not attend the same public schools that white students attended. In his famous speech, I
Have a Dream, Dr. Martin Luther King said, I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its
vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and
nullification, one day, right there in Alabama, little black boys and little black girls will be able to join
hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers. Desegregation, in the southern
states, especially Arkansas, did not come without a price to Dr. King as well as nine black students ...

Jefferson Thomas never got the opportunity to find his friends. Ministers from different denominations
tried to help the nine get into the school. They attempted to enter two or three times, but the guards
blocked them every time and said You can t enter here (America.gov), so they eventually just turned
around and walked home. Jefferson Thomas was the track athlete who transferred from Horace Mann
High School, to Central High (The Encyclopedia of Arkansas History and Culture). All nine of the
students were threatened and harassed daily, but the bullies found Jefferson Thomas, the shy one, an
easy target. The white students kept me running; they kept me in shape (America.gov). Gloria Ray
was a fifteen year old student, when she registered at Central High, for her junior year. Gloria Ray
remembers the night the FBI agents came to her house to get her fingerprints. This was done, so it
would be easy to identify her body when they found it later. One white student in particular harassed
Gloria Ray daily. She called her names and pushed and shoved her. She even knocked Gloria Ray
across the floor on one occasion (Campell). Carlotta Walls LaNier, the youngest member of the Little
Rock Nine, enrolled as a sophomore. She was inspired by Rosa Parks, the black woman who refused
to give up her bus seat to a white student.

47. Mean And Standard Deviance Of Different Methods In...
Table [tab:test1_rmde], [tab:test1_rmie], [tab:test1_nnjd] and [tab:test1_time] respectively show the
mean and standard deviation of the 6 compared methods on 5 datasets using the RMDE, RMIE,
NNJD, and the running time metrics.
Mean and standard deviation of RMDE of 6 methods on 5 datasets in the intra subject experiment.
The second last row shows the p value of a paired two tailed t test between the pwBsp method and the
method listed in each column. The last row shows the difference of the RMDE mean (mu diff) of all
image pairs between pwBsp and the other method in each column.

In Table [tab:test1_nnjd] DRAMMS was the only method generating deformation fields with non
positive Jacobian determinant. Though the number of violations was considered small when compared
to the total voxel number in the image. The ANTs method had none violation because it was built
diffeomorphic. Thanks to the proposed regularization control strategy, especially the Jacobian
determinant based filtering algorithm, the globalDct, pwAffine and pwBsp had zero violations.
Among the compared methods, the Elastix method ran the fastest consistently, as shown in Table
[tab:test1_time]. The Elastix s speed advantage can be attributed to the ITK platform, in which
implementation was extensively optimized. Though the ANTs method was also implemented based on
the ITK platform, its speed was probably slowed down by the symmetric diffeomorphic framework.
The diffeomorphic feature required a constant velocity field. The DRAMMS increased the feature
space thus having a higher computational cost. In addition, it was not implemented with any multi
processing technique.
In the intra subject experiment, we can conclude that the proposed approach demonstrated improved
performance when compared to the state of the art methods. Even though the proposed approach was
not the most efficient one, it provided a good balance between accuracy and computational cost.

48. Cause And Importance Of Communication Technology
Communications have been part of technology since late 1900 were when the internet became appeal
worldwide. Communications technology was a method for people to store data, host business, interact
and have accessibility to resources. Communication technology then became a trade for information
technologies to develop fast growing social media sites that allowed people to connect with families,
friends, and people in general worldwide. In recent years, much controversial if social media remains
a safe place for people worldwide to connect or an unsafe place that had impact individuals
psychological and emotions. To most, communication tools such as text messages, email, websites,
chat, and social media sites are methods to stay in contact and connect with families, friends, and
acquaintances worldwide. However, now all communication tools are just not used to connect with
loved ones; it has become a hot spot for people to attack others through the internet. Cyberbullying
has become a comfort zone for people to be behind their technology screen in their personal space to
act revenge, criticize, verbal assault, and make threats to others. While cyber bullying continues to
impact innocent lives across worldwide, high profile death cases are linked to cyberbullying and are
the cause of using communication technology tools.

49. A Rhetorical Analysis Of Hubert Selby s Last Exit To Brooklyn
Rhetorical Analysis Essay All works of art, whether they be written, painted, or composed, are
categorized into genres. Separating works of art into genres helps keep everything organized and easy
to refer to. However, sometimes critics are unable to specifically assign a work of art to a certain genre
or cannot agree on the nature of the work altogether. This happens to be the case for Last Exit to
Brooklyn, a controversial novel by Hubert Selby Jr.. This novel takes place in the slums of Brooklyn
during the 1950s, and follows the lives of several different characters struggling with their
environment and internal feelings. There is no consensus on the genre of this novel, but critics have
mostly narrowed it down to two genres: naturalism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is done on purpose to emphasize the ridiculous situations the characters undergo within the
novel. As you can see, Selby s style does not follow the conventional rules of writing; he does not use
proper grammar, spelling, or punctuation. There is no obvious way to tell dialogue apart from the rest
of the text due to the lack of quotation marks. Also, Selby has a tendency to switch between third and
first person, sometimes in mid sentence. Due to the complexity of this novel and the way it s written,
assigning it to a specific genre is no easy task. To even attempt this, one must understand the genres of
naturalism and moral

50. Becoming A Scholarly Writer
Prior to entering class, I deemed myself a competent writer. However, I quickly discovered that my
writing involved mediocre writing precepts. In contrast to the principles of scholarly discourse, my
writing held the tenets of conversational writing and failed to meet academic standards. Furthermore,
much of my poor writing was akin to a deep rooted habit that I found humbling to admit and
challenging to correct. Passive voice, unneeded words, long sentences, were a few of the obstacles that
impeded my journey to effective writing. However, using peer reviews and an editing checklist I
slowly began improving my skills as a competent writer. I also found that reading concerning writing
provided supplementary methods to improve my skills as a scholarly writer. Implementing these
innovative techniques, I slowly began to understand what scholarly writing entailed. As I learned

The growth I received from writing peer reviews, receiving peer reviews, writing article critiques, and
completing an essay equipped me for future writing growth. Although I do not perceive myself as an
accomplished writer, I have taken the primary steps to becoming a competent scholarly writer. Writing
is challenging and will always remain difficult. However, I first believed that writing involved talent.
Today, I recognize that writing involves skill. As Silva wrote, Productive writers don t have special
gifts or special traits they just spend more time writing and use this time more efficiently (Keyes,
2003). Changing your behavior won t necessarily make writing fun, but it will make writing easier and
less oppressive (Silva, 2014, p. 05). Although I struggle with writing, understanding that I can build
my skill level allows me to regain my purpose. However, only daily work in improving my writing
skill will results in scholarly
