Ethical Uses Of Radio Frequency Identification
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) transmits stored information between a reader and a tag, over
low frequency electromagnetic radiation, the transmitted information can then be used for a variety of
purposes, which make it essential to modern society, including uses in: identification, security,
payment, and tracking. While RFID has a significant number of uses, there are a number of ethical
issues which must be tackled.
The wave through which the information is transmitted is referred to as the carrier wave, in RFID the
carrier wave is in the radio frequency (electromagnetic radiation with frequencies between 3 kHz 300
GHz) (Mai, 2017). RFID predominantly uses three radio bands; low frequency (125 134 kHz), high
frequency (13.56 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the type of tag used will depend on the desired application.
RFID is a large industry, with applications in identification, payment, access control, and more. In
2014 the world market for RFID was estimated to be US$8.89 billion, in 2026, it is predicted to reach
US$18.68 billion (Das, 2017). However, as more uses become apparent and the technology continues
to develop it is possible that the industry will grow at an even greater rate than projected. RFID has
become more prevalent in modern society due to RFID tags becoming more economically viable; in
2003, a passive tag was estimated to cost $1, while in 2013, it was only $0.10, thus more widespread
implementation of RFID is possible, as it becomes less expensive. (Thau, 2017).
Most modern banks cards are embedded with passive tags, which allows secure payments to be made
when in close proximity with the reader (referred to as contactless payment). In Australia transactions
under $100 can be made without inputting the PIN, this helps improve the efficiency of transactions,
and thus reduces waiting times (Heffernan, 2016). Contactless cards are also commonly employed in
Public transport systems around the world. For instance, in greater London Oyster Cards possess
passive RFID tags which streamline transaction efficiency and reducing waste from paper tickets
across public transport (Muller, 2016).
A common application of RFID technology is the identification

Alamo Research Papers
Have you ever heard about the Alamo? If you have, well it s pretty common because the Alamo is
something well known for what it stood for. If you didn t know the Alamo, it is in San Antonio and it
stood for a very good reason. Let me begin in the Alamo, it was originally built as the chapel of the
Mission San Antonio de Valero. Alike all of the spanish missions it was both a, religious and industrial
trade school for indians. For years it had a couple of huts and a small stone tower until, it was
destroyed by a storm in 1724. Soon the first stone church was constructed in 1744 and then collapsed
in 1756. They started with the second church but it was never finished, it also still stands in the Alamo
Plaza. 37 years later (1793) nothing really happened but, San Antonio de Valero was still a home to
missionaries and their Native American converts until, the spanish authorities saw the Alamo ... Show

This allowed the defenders to shoot in two different directions. However, William B. Travis faced
serious weaknesses. The surrounding wall was incomplete or partly in ruins. The defenders in The
Alamo made a fence made of sticks and dirt at the uncompleted wall but, this point was weak. William
B. Travis had to defend a huge area of about 460 feet long and 160 feet wide within the Alamo walls.
To defend the Alamo successfully William B. Travis thought he needed more soldiers because of the
large Mexican Army. Despite all these weaknesses Travis and the other defenders were determined to
hold the Alamo. Some help did arrive but it wasn t enough for defending the Alamo. Colonel James
Fannin started to head to San Antonio with 300 men. The effort collapsed because of the broken
wagons and shoeless soldiers, however. Then Colonel James Fannin returned to Goliad, and William

Meditation Reflection
Ever since I was a little girl my parents made it clear that I needed to do this or that because it reflects
what type of family I was raised into. My family is very well known in a small little town in Northern
Michigan. Anything that I did that was against my parents expectations was corrected in private, and
then expected next time we went out. My family was persistent on being represented well. They
valued things like respect. My mom grew up in a family where they all went to a catholic church
every Sunday so it is viewed as a ritual that my she always took part in. Therefore, if she was to go to
church, then I was too. From the time that I was a baby until I was 16 I never had the choice to choose
what I wanted or what I believed. So how was I supposed to understand other religious views that
people held if I wasn t able to learn about them? The day I questioned my own religion was the day
that I became myself. I started reading. I started learning. I started meditating. I explored the unknown
natural surrounding that had never been exposed to me. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is meditation? Meditation is a conscious state of breathing techniques to enhance our mind,
focus on something, and create a sense of awareness of one s environment. In essence, it s like the
nervous system; interpreting signals throughout the body to relay information to the brain, and being
aware of what s going on around us. With this comes equanimity: composure and an evenness in a
difficult situation. Equanimity is something that I ve learned from meditation. As your meditating you
should feel very calm and composed, this is how we would like to feel all the time. Unfortunately, our
bodys have fight or flight responses to react quickly to the environment. So by training our body and
brain to react to situations that are out of our control as calm and composed, it will help you make
better decisions in future

Analysis Of To Kill A Mockingbird And The Death Of Innocence
In both the novels To Kill a Mockingbird, by Lee Harper, and The Death of Innocence, by Mamie Till
Mobley, a parallel is evident between the themes of the works, as well as, their courageous characters.
The fictional character Atticus Finch describes fortitude with stating It s when you know you re licked
before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what ( Lee 112). His ideals
and fearless persona show similarities to that of Mamie Till Mobley, who, in The Death of Innocence,
fights for the civil rights movement after her son is murdered. Mr.Finch s definition of bravery fits that
of the figure Mamie Till.
The unfortunate manslaughter of Emmett Till was the spark that ignited an inferno of civil rights
ideals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Deceit is no shade of the rainbow, is is a facet of human life. Affirming this fact audibly is brash, like
his choice to give Tom the best defense possible. The lawyer s gallant defense of Tom Robinson
displayed his progressive convictions regarding a colorless courtroom. Mr.Finch is entirely aware of
the prejudice environment surrounding him, and the disgrace his choice to defend Tom has brought
upon his children from their peers. His campaigning attempt for Tom is long and difficult, and based
on the quote above, he is aware victory will not result. His reasoning is explained when he says, The
one place where a man ought to get a square deal is in a courtroom, be he any color of the rainbow,
but people have a way of carrying their resentments right into a jury box. ( Lee 295 ) Atticus s
occupation revolves around the belief that fair trial is mandatory, and a racially biased jury should not
be able to destroy this. Mr. Finch chooses to make his lifestyle revolve around this idea, and
consequently is active in enforcing it in his community. This aspect of life is similarly mirrored in the
way Mamie Till Mobley approached living after the death of her son. Mamie traveled to various
conferences,

Battle Of Pennsylvania Essay
Pennsylvania, nicknamed the Keystone State, may be the 33rd largest state area wise, but it is the 6th
largest population wise 1. This is most likely due to urban areas like Philadelphia and Pittsburgh,
settlement of europeans after the discovery of The New World and, possibly, the immense amount of
history and contribution to the development of the United States of America. Philadelphia is known as
the birthplace of the United States. The territory now known as Pennsylvania was disputed in the early
1600 s among the Dutch, Swedes, and English 2. England then acquired the territory in 1664 with the
capture of New York. It was then granted to William Penn, a Quaker, by King Charles II in honor of
Penn s father.
On December 12, 1787, William Penn founded the state of Pennsylvania as a haven for his fellow
quakers. Pennsylvania was given as a gift to William Penn Sr. from King Charles II and named after

This battle came to be known as the ever famous Battle of Gettysburg. The Battle of Gettysburg is
considered the most important engagement of the American Civil War. Generals Robert E. Lee

casualties of over 50,000 Confederate and Union soldiers, more than a third of Lee s army. When the
dust settled, Meade and his army had come out on top. The Union army had won. Months later, in
November 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered his most famous to date, the Gettysburg
Address, a speech dedicating the battlefield as a cemetery for those who gave their life for their
country and those who inhabit it. This cemetery was named the Gettysburg National cemetery. In only

Hearing Loss In Canada
The world is full of noise and excessive noise exposure can cause hearing loss. There is more than 360
million of people are suffering from hearing losses (WHO) and in Canada, around 20% of the
population of the total peoples have this problem (Static Canada). The reason for increasing the
amount of hearing loss is because of the growing number of older people and the uncontrolled sounds.
However, the static Canada shows us that, nearly 42 % peoples are at a risk of noise induced hearing
loss (NIHL), would benefit from putting hearing protection device (HPD). NIHL is becoming more
common nowadays and two factors are more important to damage our inner and outer hair cell that is

There are two types of HPDs are available i.e. passive HPDs and active HPDs. In passive hearing
protection, devices provided constant and steady noise attenuation while active hearing protection
devices give communication facility, noise reduction, and amplitude technique. The conventional
passive HPDs reduce the signal power by a fixed amount and do not consider the decibel level and

advantages over analog processing such as speed, accuracy, easy to carry out, and flexibility. Although
so many years have passed, first implemented the DSP algorithms in the HPDs, the user is still not

you d like to focus. Why is it particularly newsworthy for Columbia? I would like to focus on the lack
of money for extracurricular activities amongst underprivileged kids. I think this is a very important
issue that is never talked about in the news and one that needs to be brought to life. When most people
get to the extracurricular activities section of a college application, they just list all the things that they
were able to do and don t put any thought in it. It looks great, because it shows that you can not only
do your school work, but balance other activities as well. But what we don t understand is that many
kids never get that chance to participate in these activities, and therefore they don t get to fill out that
section and they get left behind. Take football for a small example. It looks great on a resume because
it is time consuming and takes a lot of willpower. It shows that you can work with a team and if you
are a distinguished athlete with some awards, you might even get some money to go play it in college.

The importance of safe and quality health care in today s society must take into consideration the
patients perceptions and requirements. Showing your clients dignity is absolutely necessary to gain
their trust and give them comfort. Respecting patients specific needs, moral values and individual
preferences is key in providing the best possible care. Encouraging and teaching the patients
themselves to play a role in the management of their own health, rehabilitation or ongoing treatment
can produce beneficial results. Another significant element is communication, and openly sharing
medical information with the patient and their family allows them to stay informed and have
knowledge about what is happening. These principles are structured strongly on evidence based
practice, but must be morally correct also. Cohering to the evidence based practice helps to eliminate
the safety risks for the patient and the nurse. By establishing high ethical standards and combining this
with evidence based practice we are working towards providing an exceptional service to our
consumer.
Nursing codes of ethics, both locally and globally, translate to a moral responsibility to nurture the
overall health of those needing or receiving healthcare. Patient advocacy for healthcare workers to

Generosity In John Steinbeck s The Grapes Of Wrath
Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin, a French novelist who went by the pseudonym George Sand, claims
charity degrades those who receive it and hardens those who dispense it. Those who give to others
solely believe they are helping for the greater good. While those receiving more or less don t
reciprocate the same gratitude. It comes from human nature to believe deep down to help others less
fortunate than one. Generosity spreads to those in need creates gratitude for those who dispense. In his
novel, The Grapes of Wrath, John Steinbeck explores this theme while telling the story of a poor
family s journey during the Dust Bowl. In the novel, Steinbeck uses Mae to demonstrate generosity
shown towards suffering people reveals an individual s underlying ... Show more content on

Comparing Eros And Bridges
Eros, the god of love in Greek mythology, has been portrayed similarly by people throughout time,
such as Robert Bridges and Anne Stevenson. Both depictions of Eros show the god to be surprisingly
worn down, seen by the shocked responses of the characters, while Bridges concept is more godlike
than Stevenson s depiction, seen in the use of rhyme schemes and Stevenson s use of ordinary
dialogue. Both writers use the shocked responses of their characters to present the idea that Eros is
worn out and ugly. Bridges starts his poem with a question showing the initial shock at the sight of
Eros face. The narrator asks why Eros has nothing in [his] face which proves that this character
expected Eros to be lively and beautiful instead of what he is seeing. By contrasting the expectation of
beauty with the reality of ugliness, Bridges gets across Eros current state of wear. Then, Bridges
utilizes a list of metaphors that compare him to a paragon of all that is lovely, such as the idol of the
human race and the tyrant of the human heart. By juxtaposing these metaphors with the initial shock
of his sight, Bridges ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By having the dialogue between the character and Eros, Stevenson has already humanized Eros in that
he will even talk to humans. This is a very simplistic addition to the poem, yet it becomes more
important when contrasted with Bridges concept of Eros which never speaks or interacts with the
character; he is too godlike and unreachable to do that. Eros also says he is a slave and the gods are
the archetypes that you create, giving even more power to the humans. Here Eros is admitting that he
has no power and he may deserve ridicule, even though it may not be his fault. The dialogue proves
that Stevenson s Eros is worthy of mockery due to his human like faults, but is also very tragic
because they aren t his

The Future Of Life Chapter 1 Summary
The Future of life, written by Edward O. Wilson, developed a novel with a plethora of ideas, theories,
and problems within in our world today. Wilson breaks down concepts into greater context which
gives the reader in depth description to show the reader a better outlook on issues in our society today.
The author lectures in chapter two, The Bottleneck on how and why the world is overpopulated.
Wilson gives great insight, facts and solutions that will lead into what the future looks like for an
overpopulated world. Wilson begins by opening chapter two with questions regarding the population
shift around the world. Now, increasingly post ideological in temper, we may be ready to settle down
before we wreck the planet (Wilson 28). The author ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Creating two people equal one is the economist and the other is the environmentalist, persevering
together to make this a better sustained world, for every human to live life to the fullest. The
economist is in charge of the production and consumption of the area, explaining the wants and needs.
Thinking of the bigger picture, everything is production and consumption. Plants use nutrients from
the ground and sunlight to give off oxygen, which we inhale to live. Animals eat nutrients, so we as a
society can eat them. Farmers clear fields to grow crops for us to stay healthy with vegetables and
fruits. The economist parameters are the gross domestic product, trade balance, and competitive index
(Wilson 29). Meaning the economist would pair with the environmentalist to make and sustain a better
living headquarters for us to thrive as a planet. The environmentalist job would be such to work with
ecosystems, crop fields and water supplies. The environmentalist would make sure crops are
functioning correctly. Having our wildlife in check and to not have overpopulated species running
wild. Taking control of our water sources, and will serve very well for now and in the future. Most
important job of the two, economist and environmentalist is make sure we have the resources for
living on planet earth. This would not stop the overpopulation era that we are experiencing right now

The Role Of Resistance In The Resistance Movement
Many men and women participated in the resistance movement, which was the struggle against Nazi
rule. The resistance movement, hid Jews and others on the run, disrupted transportation systems, and
assassinated Nazi officials (Levack, Muir, Veldman, 2011, p.883). They also related secret information
to the allies. The resistance movement played a very important part in defeating Nazi Germany s
military. Not only did these secret armies gather intelligence for the allies, but they also destroyed
communication lines. Their work was definitely vital for the Russian s and allies, but it also was
extremely dangerous.
At the beginning, the individuals in the resistance movements of Europe had found, it very hard to
make an impression of the power of the German military. However, they were quite useful in
gathering intelligence for the allies. There were three resistance movements in WWII those were the
Polish resistance, Yugoslav resistance, and the French resistance. In Poland, the resistance formed
partisan groups that attacked German army units. The poles created the largest and most military
successful resistance movement of the war. The Yugoslav resistance was quite complex, half of the
region of Croatia decided to collaborate with the Nazis and were rewarded with their own puppet
state. While, in other regions two resistance movements emerged, those were the communist partisans
and the royalist and nationalist chetniks. Yugoslav resistance movements are

A Close Reading Of The Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
A close reading of the Sir Gawain and the Green Knight reveals a very antifeminist view. The poem,
told in four parts, tells of common medieval folklore. The stories seem to be of different plotlines, but
start to intersect in interesting ways that is, the character of Morgan Le Fay begins to frame the stories
together. The half sister of King Arthur, she holds intense hatred for her half brother and his court. It is
her thirst for the downfall of Camelot that makes this character infamous, and, surprisingly, her
success and the strength of her ability that give a bad name to women. Through the examination of
Morgan Le Fay s character, it is clear that a successful woman is always an illusion.
The text blames women for the downfall of men, of society, of common order. It paints the picture that
women are manipulative and that this is how they succeed. This idea first begins with Morgan Le Fay
s appearance early on, where she is not named. Instead, she is described as an ugly old woman and
cast aside until her true power is spoken of almost two thousand lines later. The effect of this
mysterious but harmless introduction, as well as her absence throughout most of the story, leads to her
impression as a manipulative character. It says that the most dangerous women are those who one
would least expect, and that they are always there, always watching, lying undetected and creating
mischief. Later in the story, right before Morgan Le Fay is introduced by name, is a short

Starting the Day with a Warm Mug of BPAA prominent part of the morning ritual for many people is

Keurig, a machine that is designed to be put in a kitchen but instead of roasting big pots of coffee it
steeps single serving K cups to make a personal coffee for its consumer. Over the past couple years the

Keurig s are wonderful pieces of machinery. They have revolutionized how people make and consume
their coffees. Never has been easier to make a cup of Joe than to pop in a K cup and press a button and
watch a perfect serving of coffee drip from the nose of the machine. While they are incredibly popular
with many Americans, they have their dark side; the machines and K cups contain bisephenol A. BPA
leads to a multitude of health problems for men, women, and children, all are affected by its reach
because it is so damn abundant. Keurig machines may be simple and efficient to use but they are in no
way shape or form safe to drink from. No matter what the Food and Drug Administration says, any
amount of toxin is not healthy for a human. And those who drink coffee typically drink it multiple
times a day, and at 365 days a year those numbers add up. And if they drinking multiple cups of coffee

What Is The Valley Of Ashes In The Great Gatsby
In the fiction novel The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the story is told from the first person
point of view through Nick Carraway, retelling the accounts of our protagonist, Jay Gatsby.
Throughout this piece, Jay Gatsby strives to be with his so called true love , Daisy, but soon finds out
that she married another man, which creates conflict between many of the characters. The Great
Gatsby has an abundance of symbols throughout the entire text, including the Valley of Ashes
representing the moral and social decay of society in the 1920s, the green light symbolizing Gatsby s
desire to have Daisy as well as the eyes of Dr. T.J. Eckleberg representing God piercing down upon
and judging the American society of this era. One ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

grey men who swarm like insects around the factories and cargo trains (that s the line of grey cars ).
These are the people who do not get to enjoy either the luxury of life out on Long Island or the faster
paced anonymous fun that Nick finds himself enjoying in Manhattan. In the novel s world of haves
and have nots, these are the have nots. In conclusion, the Valley of Ashes shows the social decay that
results from the wealthy indulging people of West and East Egg taking advantage society and leaving
the poor have to live among the ashes. Another major symbol in the great gatsby that relates to the
social decay of society is the green light, which represents gatsby s hopes and dreams for his future
which is associated with daisy. But it doesn t just relate to the social decay, but also the way on how
corrupt minds view the American dream and what it should be. Gatsby is hoping that his dream can
become a reality so he can stop being lonely and finally fill that missing piece of his life. He looks at
this light every night, he stretched out his arms toward the dark water in a curious way as he looks at
the light he imagines himself in a happy home with daisy and everything is great in his mind which is

These are things that I learned in DARE. The Introduction, DARE is Define, Assess, Respond, and

which is amoxicillin. When strangers or friends offer you drugs you should say: no. Which is the

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper is to tell the reader how children are most influenced psychologically by war
and that the psychological effects are more severe than those of physical, emotional, and social
influences. Researches that were found in this projects includes: book, journal, websites, professional
member of the APA, et al. Through further reading on the research, it has come to the conclusion that
children face more psychological effects than others and that it can lead to post traumatic stress
disorder (PTSD) and other symptoms and disorders such as depression or anxiety. Research has also
found that children can experience symptoms of these disorders by being directly or indirectly
influenced by war.
INTRODUCTION Fear, Hostility, Bloodshed, Battle. These are some of the few words that come to
mind when people hear the word war . People say that war is a mean to better the world or to protect
the lives of others, when in reality it is just another way to torment the lives of other. Everyone is a
victim in times of war, but the group that suffers from it the most are children. Many believe that
children are more affected socially, physically, and emotionally by war rather than suffering
psychologically through Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other disorders.

A Satire on the Food Provided By the Federal School Food Program One of many students favorite

government helps provide the food served at Worland High School every day and they do a swell job

incredible. With many delicious main courses such as: Mystery meat sandwiches, spongy chewy ribs,

Correlation Between Age Structure And The Level Of Mortality

Figures 2 (effect of age structure) and 3 (effect of mortality level) present the results of the
decomposition for the 2006 2010 period for males. We use them to answer the following question:
which contribution is greater, that from changes in the level of mortality or that from changes in the
age distribution of the population? If the contribution of the mortality level is higher than that
estimated for the changes in the age structure, then variables that affect the level of cardiovascular
mortality, such as socioeconomic, environmental, cultural and behavioral conditions, for example, can
represent some of the main risk factors for deaths from cardiovascular disease. In this case, the age
structure contributes less to fall than other associated factors. Otherwise, that is, the participation of
the age structure prevail on the level of mortality, the importance of the first to explain the variation
between the crude mortality rates would be higher than the second. Check and detect which of the two
contributions, the level of mortality or age structure, presents more relevant at the state level and

The Sixties, Freedom, And The Cost Of Freedom
Cost of Freedom We believe that Black people will not be free until we are able to determine our

Carolina summer heat causes a little bit of sweat to pool at various places on her aging faces, creating
a hazy effect on the familiar age and laughter lines. Oddly enough to some people, the wrinkles there

greenery never fails to come back with a vengeance and this day is no different. What do you even

Vivaldi Solo Concerto Essay
The solo concerto was a feature piece for a solo instrument accompanied by a contrasting ensemble,
the biggest difference between the concerto grosso and the solo concerto was the contrast between the
solo and the tutti sections were even longer and much more detailed. It wasn t until the eighteenth
century that the solo concerto became popular, the most well known composer of the solo concerto
was Antonio Vivaldi. It was Vivaldi s clean melodies, expertise with solo passages and the contrast in
timbre between the orchestra and solo parts that his concertos are among the most famous of all other
composers. Vivaldi wrote over five hundred concertos mostly for his own instrument the violin, but

Vivaldi s music was innovative, flamboyant and bright. In this way he managed to embellish the
formal structure of the solo concerto. This form of concerto gave soloists a chance to show off their
virtuosity, especially violinists on the new instruments thanks to luthiers such as Stradivarius and
Guarneri. Vivaldi s solo concertos provided musicians with a much wider range of colour by using
orchestration techniques of pizzicato and muted strings and contrast which was unparalleled at the
time. He mostly followed the simple three movement structure of fast slow fast, because Vivaldi
followed this pattern closely this became a prominent template for the next three centuries of
composers. Vivaldi s four seasons concerto is arguably the most popular baroque concerto, written for

Open Border Migration
Dating as far back as the revolution, Americans have always rallied around the concept of change.
Occupy Wall Street, though a unorganized protest, has successfully created a stir throughout the nation
by demanding modifications to society. Among the many appeals, the demonstration insist on open
borders migration which would enable easier immigration between countries, in this case it would be
Mexico and the United States. Republicans and Democrats are split on how correctly solve this
seemingly unsolvable issue. The Republican Party is in no way attempting to meet this demand;
however, the Democratic Party s is trying to implement reforms in the immigration process, which is a
step towards accomplishing the protest s goal. I believe that the best way to meet Occupy Wall Street s
demand is to have a mix of the two parties solution. This conflict between the two parties is significant
because it can lead to a complete halt in creating a solution. One of the key components needed to
establishing open borders migration in the United States is to create and passing a reform that makes
the immigration process both easier and less time consuming. The Republican Party has no intention

The Atomic Bombing Of Hiroshima
An Unnecessary Action The atomic bombing of Japan was an unjustified decision that many
considered was inhumane. Through the use of atomic bombs, many innocents were harmed in one
way or another. Berger described the atomic bombing of Hiroshima as a terrorist act and that it was
evil . While Berger s argument was extreme, the U.S. still remains unjustified because they did not
know exactly how much damage the bomb would actually cause. Bombing Japan, the U.S. harmed
thousands of civilians and displayed the effectiveness of the atomic bomb despite having other options
to end the war. By bombing Japan, many civilians were killed as a result of the U.S. s desire to use a
new weapon. Laurence describes the bomb as, a thing of beauty to behold and Never before had so
much brain power been focused on a single problem (11). This demonstrated how the U.S. saw Japan
as a problem that needed to be dealt with quickly and that the new and supposedly destructive weapon
was the best choice. While the targets, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, were both production areas ,they
were inhabited by a number of civilians. By choosing to drop the bomb, thousands were annihilated
and any survivors began to suffer from radiation sickness shortly after. Because of its destruction, the
U.S. believed the atomic bomb was a quick solution to the war. Although the atomic bomb was a new
and quick solution to the war, the U.S. could have chosen other options to finish it. As a result of

Racial Discrimination On Minority Groups
Practically, every country in the universe has a minority populace that can be either national, ethnic,
linguistic, or a religious group. Minority concerns have been on the itinerary of the United Nations for
more than half a century. In 1948, the General Assembly asserted that the United Nations could not
remain detached to the providence of minorities. That explicates why the 2005 World Summit
Outcome reaffirmed the rights of minorities and advocacy to the efforts of the United Nations (Zanden
and James 153). Does discrimination on minority groups have a basis in our daily lives? It is from that
rationale that this paper will endeavor at elucidating on the motives why I think discrimination on
minority groups has no grounds in our society. By venturing into various forms of prejudice, such as
racial differences, gay, lesbians, transgender, and the disabled people, we will be able to understand
the role these groups of people play in our society.
Racial prejudice is a stealth moral and a social cancer influencing individuals and populations
globally, especially racial minorities. It can be detected by the indexing of its many symptoms and
visitations that comprise trepidation, parochialism, alienation, segregation, prejudice, and loathing.
From a personal point of understanding, ignorance denotes the single reason racism exists worldwide.

Ironweed is the remarkable story of Francis Phelan, once a talented baseball player, husband and
father of three, who has fallen so far from grace that his home for the past twenty two years has been
the street. He sees and converses with men he has killed, and men he s helped or befriended along the
way. The story s events take place over a period of three days, in which Francis gradually comes to
terms with the past he fled so long ago. The Ironweed story has been adapted to novel and movie
formats, which will be compared below. I much preferred the movie version to the novel. For me,
author William Kennedy s style of writing is needlessly vague and difficult to follow, yet he did a
wonderful job adapting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Francis leaves two dollars at the front desk for her, and moves on. After Rudy s death the book seems
to go on to a hypothetical what if scenario in which Francis might go back to the hotel to see Helen
and find her dead. If a tombstone had not been mentioned it would be difficult to realize the author if
referring to her death at all. These are just a few examples of Kennedy s unnecessarily grandiose style
of writing, but there was at least one instance where I found the novel to outshine the movie. In the
novel s climax, Francis accepts his wife s offer to move back home. Phelan reads a letter he received
many years ago from his then nine year old daughter, who is now a grown women filled with hatred at
Phelan s desertion of his family. Phelan has kept these letters all these years, and his reading of them is
perhaps the highlight of the entire story. This is not as dramatic or emotional in the film as in the
novel, but visually it is just as intense. I by no means claim to be a novice reader. I consider myself to
be well read, and have a rather wordy writing style myself, but I still found the novel version of
Ironweed to be just to difficult to follow. I fully understand the authors use of descriptive language to
create a world in which the reader is able to imagine and visualize, and that world is

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Gics
Global In house Centers or GICs in India are 3 4 times more cost effective than their western
counterparts, but when it comes to automating processes, there s still a long way to go. While we are
steadily moving forward to a time when automated solutions can be implemented on a broader scale
across industries, GICs in the Indian market right now also have a long way to go. Globally, this space
has a $34 billion valuation, with India occupying a mammoth 40% of market share. With the
implementation of AI, machine learning and cognitive abilities, GICs in India can massively ramp up
their market share even further.
Potential Areas for Automation
The very nature of GICs implies that they provide support to the core business of the parent
organization, hence they cannot afford to overlook investments towards technology and automation to
improve productivity. This automation is usually triggered by a few necessities and they are also
applicable in order for automation tools and processes to be feasible and successful. GICs thus need
their automation to fulfill three key parameters it should tackle tasks that a majority of people would
not be inclined or motivated to perform, it should provide the most bang for the buck in the form of
tangible ROI, and it should be future looking and scalable. Otherwise it simply isn t worth the
investment of time and money that it requires. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is thanks to the advent of robotic processes and cognitive learning. Data is key here, and GICs
have such critical data (especially in comparison to third party providers when it comes to business
sensitive data) in abundance. They can then utilize this data to get insights which can then be used to
develop rules, which in turn can determine the success of

Gingival Stereotypes In Syria
There are several differences among the male and female populations of Syria. In Syria, the average
height of males is five feet, eight inches and females are generally five feet, one and a half inches (
Average , 2016). Syrians are stereotyped as having olive toned skin, black eyes, and black hair, but in
fact, many have very light skin, brown or blonde hair, and blue or green eyes (Das, 2017). A native
group, the Kurds, have light skin, green eyes, and blonde hair (Das, 2017). A majority of this
population have almond shaped eyes. Gingival biotypes may affect dental treatment success. Females
have thin gingival biotypes with triangular shaped teeth and males have thick biotypes with square
teeth (Barakat Dayoub, 2016, p. 141 ). The people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their society is divided into classes where they do not associate with other ranks. Traditionally, it is a
sign of wealth and status in a family for its women to dress in long robes with their faces veiled ( Syria

home and men have possession over them. Family is important and the more children one has, the
more fortunate one is considered ( Syria ). Syrians are affectionate individuals who greet one another

Canada Health Act Essay
The Undermining of the Canada Health Act
Abstract
In the past, Canada s government funded, universally accessible, health care system has been praised
and admired both at home and abroad as one of the finest in the world. A great source of pride and
comfort for many Canadians is that it is based on five fundamental principles. Principles that are a
reflection of the values held by Canadian citizens since the formation of Medicare in 1966. These
principles were reinforced in the Canada Health Act, (CHA), of 1984 and state that the Canadian
system is universal, accessible, portable, comprehensive and non profit.
With increasing concerns of debts and deficits, Canada s publicly funded health care system has
recently become the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accessibility and quality are being threatened due to cutbacks coupled with a lack of funding. There is
a consensus now between medical professionals, the public, and the government that the health care
system is deteriorating. It is failing to provide the quality of care promised in the CHA and prided by
so many Canadians.
Yet the strings on the public purse continue to tighten. Transfer payments from the federal government
continue to decrease as provincial debt loads increase. And, although the minister of health and the
premier assured them that the costs of health care were doubling or even tripling, Albertans have
witnessed a steady decline in government spending on health care. The proportion of gross domestic
product, (GDP), which Alberta allocates to health care is ranked last among the ten provinces, (Taft,
1997). Albertans now find themselves with a struggling health care system and a waiting list.
The proposed solution from current Alberta government would see the health care system incorporate
the private sector. The government Most of all the government is looking to decrease cost, increase
accessibility and efficiency. ***** .
Universality and Accessibility vs. Choice
Universality and accessibility go hand in hand. They are the principles that assure that each Canadian
regardless of financial situation, will have equal opportunity to access the same level of care. The lack
of a private market in

  • 2. Ethical Uses Of Radio Frequency Identification Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) transmits stored information between a reader and a tag, over low frequency electromagnetic radiation, the transmitted information can then be used for a variety of purposes, which make it essential to modern society, including uses in: identification, security, payment, and tracking. While RFID has a significant number of uses, there are a number of ethical issues which must be tackled. The wave through which the information is transmitted is referred to as the carrier wave, in RFID the carrier wave is in the radio frequency (electromagnetic radiation with frequencies between 3 kHz 300 GHz) (Mai, 2017). RFID predominantly uses three radio bands; low frequency (125 134 kHz), high frequency (13.56 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, the type of tag used will depend on the desired application. RFID is a large industry, with applications in identification, payment, access control, and more. In 2014 the world market for RFID was estimated to be US$8.89 billion, in 2026, it is predicted to reach US$18.68 billion (Das, 2017). However, as more uses become apparent and the technology continues to develop it is possible that the industry will grow at an even greater rate than projected. RFID has become more prevalent in modern society due to RFID tags becoming more economically viable; in 2003, a passive tag was estimated to cost $1, while in 2013, it was only $0.10, thus more widespread implementation of RFID is possible, as it becomes less expensive. (Thau, 2017). Most modern banks cards are embedded with passive tags, which allows secure payments to be made when in close proximity with the reader (referred to as contactless payment). In Australia transactions under $100 can be made without inputting the PIN, this helps improve the efficiency of transactions, and thus reduces waiting times (Heffernan, 2016). Contactless cards are also commonly employed in Public transport systems around the world. For instance, in greater London Oyster Cards possess passive RFID tags which streamline transaction efficiency and reducing waste from paper tickets across public transport (Muller, 2016). A common application of RFID technology is the identification ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Alamo Research Papers Have you ever heard about the Alamo? If you have, well it s pretty common because the Alamo is something well known for what it stood for. If you didn t know the Alamo, it is in San Antonio and it stood for a very good reason. Let me begin in the Alamo, it was originally built as the chapel of the Mission San Antonio de Valero. Alike all of the spanish missions it was both a, religious and industrial trade school for indians. For years it had a couple of huts and a small stone tower until, it was destroyed by a storm in 1724. Soon the first stone church was constructed in 1744 and then collapsed in 1756. They started with the second church but it was never finished, it also still stands in the Alamo Plaza. 37 years later (1793) nothing really happened but, San Antonio de Valero was still a home to missionaries and their Native American converts until, the spanish authorities saw the Alamo ... Travis had to defend a huge area of about 460 feet long and 160 feet wide within the Alamo walls. To defend the Alamo successfully William B. Travis thought he needed more soldiers because of the large Mexican Army. Despite all these weaknesses Travis and the other defenders were determined to hold the Alamo. Some help did arrive but it wasn t enough for defending the Alamo. Colonel James Fannin started to head to San Antonio with 300 men. The effort collapsed because of the broken wagons and shoeless soldiers, however. Then Colonel James Fannin returned to Goliad, and William B. Travis s best hope was ... My family is very well known in a small little town in Northern Michigan. Anything that I did that was against my parents expectations was corrected in private, and then expected next time we went out. My family was persistent on being represented well. They valued things like respect. My mom grew up in a family where they all went to a catholic church every Sunday so it is viewed as a ritual that my she always took part in. Therefore, if she was to go to church, then I was too. From the time that I was a baby until I was 16 I never had the choice to choose what I wanted or what I believed. So how was I supposed to understand other religious views that people held if I wasn t able to learn about them? The day I questioned my own religion was the day that I became myself. What is meditation? Meditation is a conscious state of breathing techniques to enhance our mind, focus on something, and create a sense of awareness of one s environment. In essence, it s like the nervous system; interpreting signals throughout the body to relay information to the brain, and being aware of what s going on around us. With this comes equanimity: composure and an evenness in a difficult situation. Equanimity is something that I ve learned from meditation. As your meditating you should feel very calm and composed, this is how we would like to feel all the time. Unfortunately, our bodys have fight or flight responses to react quickly to the environment. Analysis Of To Kill A Mockingbird And The Death Of Innocence In both the novels To Kill a Mockingbird, by Lee Harper, and The Death of Innocence, by Mamie Till Mobley, a parallel is evident between the themes of the works, as well as, their courageous characters. The fictional character Atticus Finch describes fortitude with stating It s when you know you re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what ( Lee 112). His ideals and fearless persona show similarities to that of Mamie Till Mobley, who, in The Death of Innocence, fights for the civil rights movement after her son is murdered. Mr.Finch is entirely aware of the prejudice environment surrounding him, and the disgrace his choice to defend Tom has brought upon his children from their peers. His campaigning attempt for Tom is long and difficult, and based on the quote above, he is aware victory will not result. When the dust settled, Meade and his army had come out on top. The Union army had won. Months later, in November 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered his most famous to date, the Gettysburg Address, a speech dedicating the battlefield as a cemetery for those who gave their life for their country and those who inhabit it. This cemetery was named the Gettysburg National cemetery. In only 272 words, Lincoln transformed the Union cause into a struggle for equality and liberty ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is more than 360 million of people are suffering from hearing losses (WHO) and in Canada, around 20% of the population of the total peoples have this problem (Static Canada). Why is it particularly newsworthy for Columbia? I would like to focus on the lack of money for extracurricular activities amongst underprivileged kids. I think this is a very important issue that is never talked about in the news and one that needs to be brought to life. When most people get to the extracurricular activities section of a college application, they just list all the things that they were able to do and don t put any thought in it. It looks great, because it shows that you can not only do your school work, but balance other activities as well. But what we don t understand is that many kids never get that chance to participate in these activities, and therefore they don t get to fill out that section and they get left behind. Take football for a small example. It looks great on a resume because it is time consuming and takes a lot of willpower. It shows that you can work with a team and if you are a distinguished athlete with some awards, you might even get some money to go play it in college. Showing your clients dignity is absolutely necessary to gain their trust and give them comfort. Respecting patients specific needs, moral values and individual preferences is key in providing the best possible care. Encouraging and teaching the patients themselves to play a role in the management of their own health, rehabilitation or ongoing treatment can produce beneficial results. Another significant element is communication, and openly sharing medical information with the patient and their family allows them to stay informed and have knowledge about what is happening. These principles are structured strongly on evidence based practice, but must be morally correct also. Cohering to the evidence based practice helps to eliminate the safety risks for the patient and the nurse. Both depictions of Eros show the god to be surprisingly worn down, seen by the shocked responses of the characters, while Bridges concept is more godlike than Stevenson s depiction, seen in the use of rhyme schemes and Stevenson s use of ordinary dialogue. Both writers use the shocked responses of their characters to present the idea that Eros is worn out and ugly. Bridges starts his poem with a question showing the initial shock at the sight of Eros face. The narrator asks why Eros has nothing in [his] face which proves that this character expected Eros to be lively and beautiful instead of what he is seeing. By contrasting the expectation of beauty with the reality of ugliness, Bridges gets across Eros current state of wear. • 20. A Close Reading Of The Sir Gawain And The Green Knight A close reading of the Sir Gawain and the Green Knight reveals a very antifeminist view. The poem, told in four parts, tells of common medieval folklore. The stories seem to be of different plotlines, but start to intersect in interesting ways that is, the character of Morgan Le Fay begins to frame the stories together. The half sister of King Arthur, she holds intense hatred for her half brother and his court. It is her thirst for the downfall of Camelot that makes this character infamous, and, surprisingly, her success and the strength of her ability that give a bad name to women. Through the examination of Morgan Le Fay s character, it is clear that a successful woman is always an illusion. The text blames women for the downfall of men, of society, of common order. It paints the picture that women are manipulative and that this is how they succeed. This idea first begins with Morgan Le Fay s appearance early on, where she is not named. Instead, she is described as an ugly old woman and cast aside until her true power is spoken of almost two thousand lines later. The effect of this mysterious but harmless introduction, as well as her absence throughout most of the story, leads to her impression as a manipulative character. It says that the most dangerous women are those who one would least expect, and that they are always there, always watching, lying undetected and creating mischief. Now that I m two feet away from Miss Mariam s back gate, however, I suddenly realize what I was supposed to do. I was supposed to drop off that pie to the new neighbor. It s all coming back to me now, even if it s a bit too late for me to actually be able to do anything. The two of us head to her backyard and out from the corner of my eye, I see her quickly glance at me with her head hilted. From this angle, she doesn t look as old as she normally does. She would hate for me to even mention it out loud, but she s more than thirty years my senior. The South Carolina summer heat causes a little bit of sweat to pool at various places on her aging faces, creating a hazy effect on the familiar age and laughter lines. Oddly enough to some people, the wrinkles there are what makes Miss Mariam look as good as she does. Friendlier perhaps is a better word. Occupy Wall Street, though a unorganized protest, has successfully created a stir throughout the nation by demanding modifications to society. Among the many appeals, the demonstration insist on open borders migration which would enable easier immigration between countries, in this case it would be Mexico and the United States. Republicans and Democrats are split on how correctly solve this seemingly unsolvable issue. The Republican Party is in no way attempting to meet this demand; however, the Democratic Party s is trying to implement reforms in the immigration process, which is a step towards accomplishing the protest s goal. I believe that the best way to meet Occupy Wall Street s demand is to have a mix of the two parties solution. Through the use of atomic bombs, many innocents were harmed in one way or another. Berger described the atomic bombing of Hiroshima as a terrorist act and that it was evil . While Berger s argument was extreme, the U.S. still remains unjustified because they did not know exactly how much damage the bomb would actually cause. Bombing Japan, the U.S. harmed thousands of civilians and displayed the effectiveness of the atomic bomb despite having other options to end the war. By bombing Japan, many civilians were killed as a result of the U.S. s desire to use a new weapon. Laurence describes the bomb as, a thing of beauty to behold and Never before had so much brain power been focused on a single problem (11). This demonstrated how the U.S. saw Japan as a problem that needed to be dealt with quickly and that the new and supposedly destructive weapon was the best choice. While the targets, Hiroshima and Nagasaki, were both production areas ,they were inhabited by a number of civilians. By choosing to drop the bomb, thousands were annihilated and any survivors began to suffer from radiation sickness shortly after. • 39. Racial Discrimination On Minority Groups Practically, every country in the universe has a minority populace that can be either national, ethnic, linguistic, or a religious group. Minority concerns have been on the itinerary of the United Nations for more than half a century. In 1948, the General Assembly asserted that the United Nations could not remain detached to the providence of minorities. That explicates why the 2005 World Summit Outcome reaffirmed the rights of minorities and advocacy to the efforts of the United Nations (Zanden and James 153). Does discrimination on minority groups have a basis in our daily lives? It is from that rationale that this paper will endeavor at elucidating on the motives why I think discrimination on minority groups has no grounds in our society. By venturing into various forms of prejudice, such as racial differences, gay, lesbians, transgender, and the disabled people, we will be able to understand the role these groups of people play in our society. Racial prejudice is a stealth moral and a social cancer influencing individuals and populations globally, especially racial minorities. It can be detected by the indexing of its many symptoms and visitations that comprise trepidation, parochialism, alienation, segregation, prejudice, and loathing. These are just a few examples of Kennedy s unnecessarily grandiose style of writing, but there was at least one instance where I found the novel to outshine the movie. Phelan reads a letter he received many years ago from his then nine year old daughter, who is now a grown women filled with hatred at Phelan s desertion of his family. While we are steadily moving forward to a time when automated solutions can be implemented on a broader scale across industries, GICs in the Indian market right now also have a long way to go. Globally, this space has a $34 billion valuation, with India occupying a mammoth 40% of market share. With the implementation of AI, machine learning and cognitive abilities, GICs in India can massively ramp up their market share even further. Potential Areas for Automation The very nature of GICs implies that they provide support to the core business of the parent organization, hence they cannot afford to overlook investments towards technology and automation to improve productivity. This automation is usually triggered by a few necessities and they are also applicable in order for automation tools and processes to be feasible and successful.
