IV tube. To have a catheter draining your urine. You may have to wear compression stockings.
These stockings help to prevent blood clots and reduce swelling in your legs. You may be shown
how to do breathing exercises and how to use a tool that measures how well you are filling your

Red’s Redemption- Shawshank Redemption
The Shawshank Redemption follows the lives of Ellis Red Redding and Andy Dufresne and their
twenty year stint at the Shawshank State Penitentiary. Red (a guilty man) is serving a life sentence
for murder, Andy (an innocent man) is serving consecutive life sentences for the murder of his wife
and her lover. Throughout the film, Red and Andy form an unlikely friendship that transcends age,
race, and class boundaries that ultimately leads to Red s spiritual redemption and freedom.
The film is set up for a classic white and black pairing with a magical negro narrative, however, The
Shawshank Redemption subverts expectations. Red defies the cinema stereotype of the mystical
black man or the Magical Negro because he is portrayed with dignity, because he is the main
character and everyman, because he is not extraordinarily wise or supernatural (though he does
give advice, it is not his only or main role in the text), and he survives the film having learned a
lesson from a white character. This denunciation is significant because it is a rejection of common
black/white race relation stereotypes, and because it is a landmark replacement of negative
stereotypes with positive realisms in cinema.
Celebrated director Spike Lee coined the term at a Yale conference during which he addressed race
relations in modern film (Gonzales). This stereotype focuses on a character who the audience
identifies as black. This (often supporting) character seems sensible and habitually

Standardized Testing Is Effective And Effective
Education has been an important part of society for centuries. Over the years it has slowly evolved
into what it is today. The topic of education has been controversial since the beginning. It seems as
though there is always someone that sees a need for change in how students are being taught and
assessed. More specifically, many people think that standardized testing is not an effective way to
assess students. While on the other hand, many also believe that standardized testing is the most
efficient and effective way to assess people of all ages. The debate over standardized testing has
been shown to effect students and the community in many different ways. Standardized
assessments have had huge impacts with both teachers and students. Whether one thinks
standardized testing is effective and efficient or misdirecting and unproductive it is a big part of the
educational system. While the argument may present that standardized tests leads to simulated
knowledge, others argue that standardized tests are very effective in assessing students. In
America, standardized testing started to show up during the Industrial Revolution when more and
more children began attending school rather than working in factories or on family farms. Due to
a back to basics movement during the 1970s, there was a big emphasis on low level functional
skills and the proliferation of minimum competency tests (Marzano 9). However by the time we get
to the 1990s, standardized tests began to be

Violence In The Virgin Suicides In The Virgin Suicides
From this analysis and definition of witchcraft and its relation to the player, gossip, one can see
how violence may erupt from such cases of witch accusations. Gossip, as an active player in witch
hunts and trials can [...] outrun the intentions of [its] creators, producing more violence than is
anticipated (Stewart and Strathern 193). Such unanticipated growth within gossip is the result of,
as Hurston writes in Their eyes were watchingGod, words walking without masters (2). One can
relate words walking without masters as violence walking without masters. In the way that words,
gossip, and rumor can snowball, to a certain degree, violence can as well. After misfortunes, most
often deaths, within a community, people attribute misfortune to witches and kill them in order to
set matters right (Stewart and Strathern 193). Therefore, we see that violence is retribution in witch
hunts and is given agency through gossip. In The Virgin Suicides, the community, in effect, kills
the Lisbon sisters through violent gossip in retribution for Cecilia s death and the unrest it caused
the community. The Lisbon sister s state is reflected through a tree in their front yard that, for a
time [...] stood blighted, trying to raise its stunted arms, a creature clubbed mute (Eugenides 173).
The vicious words of the community clubbed the sisters, robbing them of their personality.
Eventually, the sisters become so ostracized and hated for their inability to be anything but sexual

Physical Security
It is important for all organizations to have physical security. Physical security protects the
organization in every way. Every individual needs to be aware of the importance of physical
security. Not only is important for the individual to be aware of the importance physical security has
in an organization but to be able to understand how physical security works within the organization.
In this paper the writer will be describing the core concepts of physical security. Additionally the
writer would be writing about the security assessments. Last the writing would be writing about the
basic physical controls.

The basic physical control is the implementation of security measures in a defined structure used
to deter or prevent unauthorized access to sensitive material ( 1.2.1. Physical Controls , n.d.).
Also physical controls are safeguards to avoid and minimize any security risk the organization
have that involving computer software or even personal property. Some examples of physical
control are fences, security guards, access cards, surveillance cameras, biometrics and locks.
Cameras are very important in an organization. Depending on governing law and the prevailing
corporate culture, many companies have policies which prohibit the taking of pictures on the
premises (Seese, 2009). Organization prohibits the taking of pictures on the premises because
when an individual is taking pictures he or she might be planning on doing harm to the
organization. He or she might want to rob the organization and wants to know how the
organization layout looks like from the inside and the outside. Another reason why taking pictures
is prohibited in organization is because the individual could learn where the surveillance cameras
are located, individual could even take pictures with his or her cell phone, that is why in some
organization there is security walking around to prevent any picture to be taken. There are different
kinds of biometrics technologies. One category is physiological and another category is

Automated Provisioning, Deployment and Monitoring Comparing VMware vCloud Director
Orchestrator Vs Microsoft s System Centre Orchestrator Private cloud automation is a process
where the IT administrator may write scripts which automatically trigger events in response to
certain criteria being reached. It may be a new user requesting the provisioning of a desktop, it may
be an alert indicating a malfunction or failure of hardware or services, and it may be the monitoring
and charge back for the usage of a service. As a result of these requirements the deployment of an
Orchestrator comes highly recommended for the automation, instead of the administrator spending
maybe hours writing and testing scripts, the Orchestrator allows the administrator to drag and drop
the relevant graphics onto a canvas and then run it in the integrated test process prior to deployment
into live operation. This dissertation aims to comparatively analyse and evaluate the
implementation regarding the performance, cost reduction through reduced administration and
usability of the two competing provider s solutions, namely, VMware vCloud Director Orchestrator
and Microsoft System Centre Orchestrator. The scope of this study compared the performance and
efficiency of both platforms, although the cost saving in administrative time required is closely
matched between the two platforms the performance and

7 Nursing Theorist
In the book, Nursing Theorists and Their Work, there are several chapters that discuss seven
theorists and their different conceptual models (Alligood, 2014). The conceptual models have been
crucial to the profession of nursing. Nursing conceptual models aid in educated decision making by
providing different applications in regards to individuals, families, and society (Alligood, 2014).
The seven theorists that will be conferred are the following: Myra Levine, Martha Rogers, Dorothea
Orem, Imogene King, Betty Neuman, Sister Callista Roy, and Dorothy Johnson (Alligood, 2014).
Each theorist has their own conceptual model in relation to the nursing profession.

of conservation within health is for an individual to be able to tackle disability and keep one s
wholeness intact (Schaefer, 2014). There are four conservation principles in which the Conservation
Model goals are met: conservation of energy, conservation of structural integrity, conservation of
personal integrity, and conservation of social integrity (Schaefer, 2014). Conservation of energy is
the idea that people have a steady balance of energy, in order to support them through life s
activities (Schaefer, 2014). In nursing, the conservation of energy is used by performing
interventions that lessen demand on the patient. The conservation of structural integrity is the idea
of preserving one s functionality by early recognition and nursing interventions (Schaefer, 2014).
The nursing intervention would involve assisting the individual in achieving a different level of
adaptation. Conservation of personal integrity includes helping the patient obtain self worth and
privacy, while they are in such a vulnerable position. The nursing interventions for conservation of
personal integrity would involve respecting the patient s wishes, providing privacy, being a patient
advocate, etc. Lastly, the conservation of social integrity is based on the nurse supporting the
patient on a social level. This consists of the nurse addressing religious needs, providing
encouragement and support to family members, and forming professional, patient nurse

Why Baseball Is Important To Me Research Paper
Baseball is a fun, exciting, and cheerful game. I love how I feel at home when I walk onto the
field. I always play the same position, second base,it is my favorite position to play.I love when
the ball is hit to me and I can scoop it up and throw it to first. When we get three outs, we go to
bat and I hit pretty good most of the time. When we start the game, we take the field first.I head
out onto the field to play second base. When we go out there my friends play the bases around
me, we talk and communicate to throw the ball to the right base. When the ball is hit to me, I
always take a second to make sure that it is coming to me.If I catch the ball I throw it to first
unless there was already a runner on first then I throw it to second. When I throw it to second the
shortstop gets the ball, tags the base, and throws it to first so we can get a double play. When we
get three outs we go up to bat. We get off the field, coach gets us together outside the dugout and
tells us to hit the ball and we break it down. After we break it down we go into the dugout and we
bat.Cameron my best friend is the first batter, then I am second.Cameron normally bunts because
he is fast and can get to first before they throw him out. With Cameron at first I go up to bat and
coach normally tells me to hit away.I

Importance of Thinking in Troilus and Criseyde and Hamlet...
Importance of Thinking in Troilus and Criseyde and Hamlet
Troilus and Hamlet have much in common. Both have represented the quintessential tragic heroes
of two literary periods. Both lovers, Troilus and Hamlet lose what they love despite their earth
shaking groans. Both are surrounded by traitors and are traitorous in kind. Both are embattled and
this is no secret both die. But somewhere on that mortal coil on which they are both strung, they
confront a similar question, a question which divides them in no sense less than the waters divide
England and Denmark the question of action. This essay pretends to do little more than probe the
circumstances of that question in relation to a speech that appears prominently in Shakespeare s ...

Now, Hamlet comprehends the arbitrary nature of power that would send an army against a
minuscule plot of ground. He understands good and evil and the machiavellian wheels that grease
the way to the throne as they are, a process in which he is complicit. Hamlet, a once simple prince,
is sick at heart.
An inextricable belief in fate centers this bitter epistemological com Г«ment. In Hamlet s world,
birth alone is a telling reason and excuse for tainted character (1.4.24 26, 1.5.91). But heaven
takes part as well; there s a special providence in the fall of a sparrow (5.2.230 231). Taken
together, this realization of inequity and the apparently long understood mechanism of biological
predestination, are staggering to Horatio s sweet prince. If such biological predestination is true,
then how should Hamlet understand the base actions of his family members and of himself?
Either his family are impostors to nobility or this idea of predestination is faulty. The play gives
ample evidence of a prince who has long dallied in philosophy and seldom lived in the world.
Indeed, the transparent nonsense that a person may not exceed his birth is indicative of this. Like
Joyce s Stephen Dedalus, Hamlet glamorizes death through his sable clothes. Claudius?and
Gertrude s advice is honest, sincere, and worldly: death is the most commonplace of occurrences:
accept it and nmove on. When the murder is revealed, progression

Fifa s Corruption Of Soccer Games
Envision attending a game of your favorite sports team, already knowing who the winner of the
match. How fun would that be to watch? Whether you are betting real money on the game or not,
the game would be boring to watch. The possibility of this attending such a scenario does exist for
the FIFA world cup provided that FIFA
s corruption is allowed to keep manifesting. FIFA, also
known as the FГ©dГ©ration Internationale de Football Association and the governing body of
soccer, who creates and outlines the rules of the games, is suspected of corruption and it could
potentially harm the quality of soccer games. If this happens, the social and fun aspect of the
world cup would be entirely diminished. Think of if this happens to your favorite sport. You re
throwing a barbeque party celebrating the superbowl, and you know the Patriots are going to win
this year. Not because you believe in their skill but because it has all been staged. This leads me to
my main point, if FIFA s alleged corruption continues to knowingly grow and something isn t done,
it will hinder the prestige the FIFA World Cup
. While some may argue soccer has become an
important part of many countries history and FIFA has become too big to fail, if matches become
more about bribes, politics, and personal bias in a game where outcomes should be decided by
skill, people will lose interest. You might think that this doesn t matter and it is only soccer. But in
reality, FIFA s corruption is hurting people too. Did

First of all, financial institutions were rare in Britain at this time. Therefore, it was very hard to
find an investor in order to buy machines and equipment. Once again, networking practices were
crucial to contact aristocrats who were willing to lend money. Another financial problem is
related to the lack of standards and tools to run a business at this time. As Wedgwood explained
during the vase madness period, the financial health of the company was in peril even if they
sold a considerable amount of vases. In fact, he bought a lot of raw materials but in the same
time his business partner didn t collect quite quickly the bills. This situation influenced
negatively the liquid assets of Wedgwood s business. As Wedgwood and Bentley were afraid of
making the same mistake in the future, they created a price book of workmanship and separate
fixed and variable costs. These tools are still used nowadays, the price book could be compared to

Essay On Astronaut
In order to determine whether the term astronaut , as it is presented in Article V of the Treaty on
Principles Governing the Activities of States in the
Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and

paper will adhere to the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (VCLT). Article 31of the VCLT
explicitly addresses the process, and general rules of treaty interpretation. By principle, treaty
interpretation must be approached in a holistic manner and in good faith and should attempt to

The ordinary meaning of travelling includes being a passenger on vehicles moving from point A
to point B. In light of this reasoning, scientists, teachers, media, and potential tourists need not
be experts in operating space crafts but rather having training in how to travel, or be a passenger
in a space craft, and this could suffice. Despite not be a part of the crew operating space crafts,
merely being trained to travel in space crafts still satisfies the ordinary meaning of the term
astronaut under Art V of the OST. For the purpose of the OST, astronaut is defined as astronauts
as envoys of mankind in outer space. If the ordinary meaning of this definition is considered,
envoys of mankind lends itself to support this this broader interpretation of the word trained rather
than the narrower interpretation of only including experts in operating space crafts being
constituted as trained . Envoys of mankind in this case can be interpreted not as diplomatic envoys
(as if this was the case this is what would have been stated), but rather they are representatives of
mankind in general. This would include all and any member of mankind who is to venture into
space and is sent by any population of mankind who inhabit earth.
To consider the context of the OST treaty, the preamble and annexes must be examined. The
preamble emphasises peaceful activities,

Participation of South Sinai s Local Residents in Sustainable Tourism Development

Abstract
Tourism development has major impacts on local residents and their participation in tourism
development plays a vital role in its success. Although, there is substantial literature related to local
residents participation in tourism development, it mainly focuses on developed countries or mature
tourism destinations in developing countries. There is lack of literature on local residents
participation in developing countries, especially where tourism development is new. Decision
makers and planners often, in the developing countries where tourism development is new, tend to
involve public and private sectors without a full consideration of local residents participation in
tourism development. This research explores local residents participation in tourism development
in South Sinai in Egypt.
Although South Sinai is endowed with all the elements of a highly competitive tourism destination
rich culture and heritage and virgin lands waiting to be explored, local residents do not benefit by
participation in tourism development. This is due to the lack of experience among key stakeholders.
Two main phases of fieldwork and data collection were conducted: The first phase: involves in
depth, one to one, semi structured interviews

Modern Norse Interaction
The early Norse people of modern Scandinavia were an amazing group of people that traded,
raided, and farmed, we known as Vikings. Norse people were well known travelers of most of the
known world during the Viking age, approximately 800 1150 CE. Their customs and technology
made impacts on civilizations a great distance from their homeland. It seemed that once contact
outside their native land had taken place, an explosion of interaction occurred. They reached out
and interacted with people from the east, south, and west. Some of these interactions were ferocious
in nature filled with slaughter and raiding. Other interactions were peaceful that led to settlements

The Frankish emperor Louis the Pious and his sons were at war. The Norse people continued to
attack some and became allies for others. Louis s son Lothar welcomed the Norse people and
used them in future battles as mercenaries. After Louis s death in 843 CE the Treaty of Verdun
ended the civil war and the kingdom was separated into 3. Charles the Bald became king of the
West Franks. During his time, near the Loire River, the Vikings founded a settlement. This was
a major disadvantage to the Franks and their trade routes. Norse men then began to travel up
rivers to find more monasteries and villages to attack within the Frankish kingdoms. Charles
made several attempts to fortify the towns to protect them, but not enough to overthrow his rule.
None of these strategies were very efficient. Charles made an extreme mistake in 845 CE in an
attempt to deal with these Vikings in a new and less painful way. He tried to buy peace from the
invaders. Paying in large amounts of gold and silver to the Viking s he simply asked not to

Education And Social Problem Solving Skills
Introduction Teachers have different ways of engaging children in social problem solving skills.
The literature review revolves around this argument. The different topics to be discussed are
inclusive of the children capabilities in terms of their social emotional development and skills that
children need in order to become problem solvers. The other topic is the methodology which
discusses the strategies used in different articles, the classroom environment and the action of
teachers as models following their professional development from their training to coaching
activities. At the end the paper the influence of this training on children is discussed. Children

This provides significant positive impacts statistically on the social behaviors of the three year
olds and a mutual closeness with their teachers and with each other. The results point to new
potential directions for future research and the development of pre school interventions to
enhance. Skills that children need to become a problem solver (such as imaginations, flexibility,
etc.) Pitri, E. (2013), discusses Creative Problem solving via artwork. It involves analysis and
logical thinking and also irrational thinking through ways such as fantasy and play. Creativity is
ideally not a requirement in problem solving but creative production is a situation that needs
problem solving. Individuals who are creative are able to solve problems in a more innovative,
appropriate manner and high quality. Art activities help children face technical, interpersonal and
contextual problems, following critical thinking skills the children can make choices among a
variety of possible solutions (Pitri, E. 2013). Children who solve problems using creative thinking
skills to solve problems are usually focused on the task and they continuously define new problems
and can ask questions out loud. Problem solving skills and reasoning create a foundation for the
learning of a lifetime. Reasoning, making inferences, implementing decisions and analysing
arguments to solve the common problems are all important skills across all the areas of
development. The skills give

Understanding Organisations and the Role of Hr Essay
Information Sheet
Main Products and Services of the Organisation
East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS) provides emergency 999, urgent care and
patient transport services for 4.8 million people within the six counties of Derbyshire,
Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.
Main Customers
Our main customers are members of the public calling 999 emergency services. In addition we have
a Patient Transport Service (PTS) who undertake journeys to and from routine health appointments.
Purpose and Goals of the Organisation
All NHS ambulance services must respond to 75% of Category A emergency calls (the most serious
and life threatening) within 8 minutes. Within 19 minutes 95% of ... Show more content on

This has seen EMAS move from transporting patients to the healthcare provider, into a service that
takes healthcare to the patient within the community (EMAS 2011).
Reconfiguration within the service is a further external factor. EMAS has been influenced by the
merger in 1999 and 2006 of six previous ambulance services into the East Midlands. Over recent
years, we have seen a shift from traditional command and control cultures of the former
organisations, to localised, empowered management teams working within the heart of their
communities.
Becoming an NHS Foundation Trust is an external factor that is already having a major impact.
An NHS Foundation Trust is a new form of NHS organisation with greater freedom from
Government control so that it can better meet the needs of local communities. We are currently
developing our application. NHS Foundation Trust status will provide the freedom to invest surplus
funds. We will be able to plan for a longer period, 5 years plus so we can be more confident in how
we will develop.

Essay On Sewage Back Up
Good evening,
I just wanted to follow up with the topics covered during our meeting this afternoon and describe
the events of the sewage back up.
Saturday afternoon we noticed a smell on the 1st floor and upon investigation found that the 1st
floor bathroom was flooded with approximately Вј inch of water, the toilet was full of liquid and
solid waste, and the tub had 2 inches of liquid and solid waste. We immediately called the
emergency plumber and builder while placing towels and running fans to attempt to dry the area. In
addition, we were told to notify the City of Austin about the issue.
The City of Austin responded in approximately 30 minutes. They removed our sewer line cap to
relieve built up pressure. City employees also used a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While making hotel arrangements, we were contacted by Servpro and arranged a 9 am appointment.
The next morning, Servepro found water in the bathroom cabinet, the bathroom baseboards, and in
one of the 1st floor bedrooms. Servepro set up 3 fans, 2 dehumidifiers, and scheduled a follow up
appointment for 8/7/17 at 5:30 pm.
The plumber arrived and went to our neighbors, but stopped never followed up with us. After
contacting the emergency builder and Tiffany to determine what happened, the plumber called
Linda around 5:00 pm. He stated that he would only come for an emergency, that we did not have
an emergency situation, and that we would have to call back Monday to schedule a regular
appointment.
Today, 8/7/17, Mike and I spoke multiple times about the situation. Mike decided to stop by, assess
the damage, and assist with contacting the right tradesmen. During the meeting, we discussed the
following:
The incident history
What Servpro found
The next steps in repairs to include but not limited to baseboards, drywall, carpet, carpet pad, and
the bathroom cabinet
What Mike determined about the BSG power over ethernet issue and how it was not relayed to us
Sending another plumber after hours to snake the toilet and tub

A Rose For Emily Critical Analysis
William Faulkner uses A Rose for Emily to tell a story about a mentally ill, lonely woman who
is stuck in her own time . After the passing of her controlling father, which occurred 30 years
ago, Miss Emily never quite regained herself. Her house, that once used to be the most beautiful
place, became one of the most run down, dust covered places in the city. Within the town that
Emily belonged, people began to pity her soul and gossip about her life of disaster. Homer
Barron, a man who works on construction of sidewalks, begins to date Emily and comes into her
life to try to save her from self destruction. They begin to spend a lot of time together to get to know
one another but the people of the town continuously nag Emily due to social classissues but it
doesn t stay this way for long. Miss Emily is seen less and less with Mr.Barron and is caught at a
local drug store buying arsenic. After a while, Homer is never seen again, and at the age of
seventy four Miss Emily dies. After her death, people of the city remember a room in her house
that hasn t been seen for 40 years, and their superstition arises. They end up breaking down the
door to discover Homer`s dead, decaying body and another imprint of a body beside his, with a
single strand of iron grey hair. A Rose for Emilyreveals a series of events that are open to
interpretation. WIthin these series of events, the story begins to open the idea of old versus new

Margaret Jolly
In her review of the significance of cloth in Pacific polities, Annette Weiner has evoked the
persona of Penelope, weaving by day, and unweaving the same fabric by night, in order to halt
time (1986, 108).[1] This image of a Pacific Penelope halting time was inspired by Weiner s
reanalysis of the Trobriand islands. In her monograph (1976), in several subsequent papers (1980,
1982a, 1983a, 1986) and in her shorter text (1988) she conclusively demonstrated that Malinowski
and a host of other male observers had failed to see women s central place in Trobriand exchange:
that in fixating so totally on men s exchanges of yams in urigubu and of shell valuables in the ...

The rhetorical device that Weiner uses in Women of Value, Men of Renown, namely, heading each

The Music Industry Is An Oligopoly
The music industry is an oligopoly. Since the late 1800 s people like Thomas Edison have been
buying up patents in communication technology, forming monopolies, leading to a non competitive
entertainment industry. With only a handful of corporations controlling all aspects of acquisition,
distribution and marketing of music, harsh business principles create an exploitative industry that
takes the best of what artists have to offer and leaves many of them unable to support themselves.
Beginning in the 1950 s with payola and white cover music and ultimately evolving into iTunes and
Spotify, the music industryhas grown into a billion dollar industry with far reaching influence and
control. Contracts rarely serve the artists best interest and many are left out to dry when their
usefulness has expired.
In the 1950 s, radio was struggling to keep ratings against the emerging new television craze.
Music executives began to pay disk jockeys to play their music. It is called payola and it is still
in practice today, although it is technically illegal. The record companies write off the legal fines
imposed by the Federal Communications Act as an expense of promotion (Campbell p.88). Black
artists in the 50 s were writing some of the most inventive and marketable music of the time, but
their music was still not palatable to a white audience as long as it was played by black musicians.
Record companies began buying the songs of poor black musicians and giving them to their

Generating Electricity
Generating Electricity
Criteria A Criteria B
Farzad Siganporia

Today in our modern society, us humans take a variety of things for granted. One particularly,
goes unnoticed. One, which we cannot live without, and one which changed our lives forever.
ELECTRICITY. Electricity exists in a metropolis city, to aircrafts in the air to every remote corner
on our earth. During the 1800s, British scientist Michael Faraday discovered the fundamentals of
generating electricity. His method, which is movement of a loop of wire between the poles of a
magnet, is still used today. Without electricity, the world would be a different place to live in.

Electricity is then produced. Usually, several wind towers are built together in windy places to be
called wind farms.
Clipart
Although this method tackles the problem as we can rely less on fossil fuels, it does have some
limitations in the economic factor. Wind turbines are extremely costly to develop and the cost
is recovered only decades later. The cost for a commercial scale wind turbine ranges from $1.2
million to $2.6 million, per MW of nameplate capacity installed. Most of the wind turbines today
are 2 MW so roughly after installation, a single wind tower could cost around $3.5 million. This
is a very large amount and a very high initial cost for a company to invest in. This is one factor
why countries usually select fossil fuels. (Carla, eHow)
Another factor is the social factor. Wind farms are extremely noisy and spoil the view of people
living near them. Wind farms affect communities a lot and force communities to relocate. This
also affects the life and welfare of human beings who live near them. It causes noise pollution as
well as it is an eye sore. So therefore it may be a problem for some countries to develop
communities in that area and a problem for local people who live nearby. (GCSE Bitesize)
However, to every dark cloud has a silver lining. There are also benefits of wind power. In the
ethical factor, it is a positive step. Using wind power instead of fossil fuels

The Values And Values Of Mahathir Mohamad
Values and Visions of Mahathir Mohamad After the Asian financial crisis in 1997 that brought an
end to the economic miracle in Southeast Asia, Malaysia has become an exception case since it
could mitigated the turmoil s adverse effects, such as rising unemployment or the breakdown of the
political regimes. With the leadership of Mahathir Mohamad, the Malaysian government refused the
advices of IMF (International Monetary Fund) that included austerity and liberalization of capital
mobility. Instead of implementing market reform, Mahathir employed state owned financial
institutions and enterprises, for example, Petronas, to bail out troubled businesses, imposed capital
controls, and pegged Ringgit with US dollars (Khoo, 2006). As a result of... Show more content on

First, Mahathir promoted the birth and expansion of the Malay capitalist class during 1980 s via
privatizations, abandoning NEP s spirits that used state owned holding companies as a
shareholders of Malay people. Sadly, the beneficiaries from the public asset transfers were not
ordinary Malay people, but the politically connected businessman, principally the cronies of
Mahathir, Daim and Anwar (Wain, 2009: 102). The unequal access to privatized benefits led to the
widening intra ethnic inequality among Malays (Gomez and Jomo, 1997). Second, Mahathir
exploited his popular supports, especially from rural voters, as a resource to fulfill his desire of
being an authoritarian leader with the legitimacy from the institutionalized political party (Wain:
53). A case in point was the 1983 constitutional crisis, which was caused by Mahathir s attempt to
increase the autonomy of the Parliament and reduce Royal s authority to interfere in the legislative
process (Khoo, 1995: 202 209). The authoritarian status of Mahathir formally limited citizens power
to restrict the UNMO dominated government s unpopular actions. According these two situations,
Mahathir s heterodox methods, which were used against the financial crisis, might not only relates
to his visions and values of Malaysian society and economy, but also Mahathir s authority and his
cronies interests. The conditionality of IMF could dismantle the business empires of Mahathir s

Ivy League schools are prestigious institutions that accept only the top students in America, and
they challenge their students in all classes. These institutes represent the best education and
produce some of the most successful people in America. It is an honor to be accepted to any Ivy
League, but attending does not come cheap. With huge tuition costs, coursework, stress, and
pressure, some wonder if it is worth the work. As someone who has worked in admission at Yale,
Deresiewicz knows what is required to go to an Ivy Leagueschool. He states, So extreme are the
admission standards now that kids who manage to get into elite colleges have, by definition, never
experienced anything but success. The prospect of not being successful terrifies them, not merely
practical, but existential (Deresiewicz203). What Deresiewicz means is the minority of kids who
get selected are all similar in the fact that they are normally successful in everything they do. The
thought of failing in their Ivy League school terrifies them so much that it almost breaks them. The
decision to go to an Ivy League school instead of a four year universitymay not be worth the cost,
provide students with superior education, or help improve the life of a student. In the text of the
liberal magazine The New Republic, Deresiewicz talks about his experience of working in the
admissions office at Yale and reveals some of the requirements in order for a candidate to be

The Bottled Water Problem
The Bottled Water Problem
Introduction
Most of Americans today prefer drinking from bottled water other than regular tap water. Bottled
water is definitely more efficient and more reliable than tap water in many ways because it is
easy to carry around. The problem with bottled water is that even though it is very easy to carry
around, it is also very easy to dispose of. According to the International Bottled WaterAssociation,
the consumption increased 4.1 percent in 2011 alone. Furthermore, a report by the Earth Policy
Institute (EPI) says that the consumption of bottled water doubled worldwide between 1999 and
2004. People throw away the bottled water so easily and the plastic that it is made of has many
chemicals that can hurt the environment. The Bottled Water: Friend or Foe article says Bottled
water also damages the environment because the bottles become unnecessary garbage and require
large quantities of energy to be produced. There is two types of chemicals that are harmful,
phthalates and biphenyl A, they are mainly used to make the plastic flexible. Bottled water is
damaging to the environment, has many health risks, and is a waste of fossil fuels that can be used
for something else more important than just making simple bottles to contain water.
Chemicals in Bottled Water The United States health department is always looking for ways to
improve health across the nations for the citizens to have healthier lives. Many medicines and

Importance Of The 1st Amendment
In total, America has 27 Amendments all together but which one is the most important you may
ask, well that s was this is about. I believe that the 1st Amendment is the most important out of
them all . The 1st Amendment is freedom of Religion, Speech, Press, Assembly, and Petition.
Freedom of religion and speech are one of the best things a country can have and also something
everyone believes they should have. Everyone should be able to say or do anything they want
without fear. Also freedom of press is the right to publish newspapers, magazines, and other printed
matter without governmental restriction and subject only to the laws of libel, obscenity, sedition,
etc. ( www.dictionary.com) . Freedom of Assembly is The right to hold public meetings and form
associations without interference by the government. Freedom of peaceful assembly is guaranteed
by the First Amendment to the Constitution.
Last but not least is Freedom of Petition According to ( The Free Dictionary , 2017) a formal
written request to a court for an order of the court. It is distinguished from a complaint in a
lawsuit which asks for damages and/or performance by the opposing party. Petitions include
demands for writs, orders to show cause, modifications of prior orders, continuances, dismissal of
a case, reduction of bail in criminal cases, a decree of distribution of an estate, appointment of a
guardian, and a host of other matters arising in legal actions.

Chuck Klosterman s Lesson Essay
Life is beautiful and mysterious. Therefore, there are things that seem to happen like what we
expect but it actually results oppositely. The more we expect the more disappointed we will get
when the outcome turns out wrong. That is the lesson I learned from reading the four essays by

People always want more than what they already have. Klosterman writes about different scenarios
where something more is being sought after and ultimately results in failure. This is also
considered greed. Sampson and Anders always want to try hard to compete with each other players
to get the more love from fans and oppositely the neglect is what they received when they retire.
Through a Glass, Blindly the author spent a lot of time spying the neighbor woman. In result, he
did not learn anything from that. Talking about greed, the scenario that would be the best example
is Garth Brooks and his career. Being on the top of his repute, Garth Brooks still tries to be his
alter ego Chris Gains; and falls short of himself. Failure also happens in media; the media tries so
desperately to be funny that they add laugh tracks in comedy shows and only to become
annoying. These four stories are similar; Whether it is an athlete trying to win validation, the
guy in the window who is trying to find common things in someone s life with his life, Garth
Brooks desire to be better than he already is, a sitcom being funny . They are all seeking a
purpose in life and showing the interaction between people. Trying hard does not mean that we
will get satisfied outcomes. Klosterman makes valid points about greed with oneself in constant
desire for more. Also, appreciation for what they already have. Each story is an example; From

Assessing Land Use Changes Due to Natural Gas Drilling and Operations in the Marcellus Shale in
Bradford County, PA
Natural gas began to be extracted from the Marcellus shale formation in the mid 2000s , and now
well pads and their associated infrastructures are now well known fixtures in the Appalachian
Mountain regions. Marcellus Shale is an organically rich black shale which is currently being
explored by drilling as a source of natural gas. The region in question encompasses most of the
relatively uninhabited Appalachian basin, which is located within the Appalachian mountain range.
The basin is comprised of sedimentary rocks which stretch from Ontario, Canada all the way down
through New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and New Jersey.

amount of drilling companies in the area, is that land which was once used for agriculture and
land which once was home to fields and forests are now being transformed into drilling sights. As

Hakuna Matata, what a wonderful phrase. Hakuna Matata, ain t no passing craze. It means no

Essay on Jane Addams and Civic Housekeeping
Jane Addams and Civic Housekeeping:
Bringing Women into the Public Sphere
HIST 102: Introduction to U.S. History II
Professor Stacie Taranto
Phillip Gatto
December 5, 2013
In the early 20th century, more and more issues began to face cities of the United States. Specific
issues that cities began facing more and more included the rise in poor sanitation and health
concerns in local tenement housing. In order for women to gain access to the public sphere and
emerge out of the private sphere, and gain some sort of status with the men of society, Jane Addams
proposed the idea of civic housekeeping which would let women use their skills from the home in
order to clean up the issues in local ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By starting the tenement houses in Chicago through the Hull Houses, Jane Addams and Ellen
Starr had already begun their journey into the public sphere. Through opening the tenement
houses and allowing people to see them and come live in them helped the two women make a
name for themselves, with the more well known woman of the pair being recognized for much
more, was Jane Addams herself. Addams saw rights and freedom for women as a perfectly
possible thing to attain, as she was optimistic and very assertive on her way to work for women s
equality and rights. The optimism that Jane Addams had was not without a price to pay on her part,
as there were many negatives that had to be dealt with along the way like setbacks in acting,
legislation, supporters, etc.7 These settlement housing complexes, along with other emerging
municipally supported housing and projects, were failing considerably as time went on, in more
ways than not. Ways these housing and government projects were failing were in hygiene and
sanitation, in addition to perishable products that went uninspected, like meat and dairy products,
which eventually made citizens very ill, and even killed a few. Local factories emitting toxic fumes
also did not help the issue at all8 Toward the late 19th century, as more and more women began
entering the workforce and emerging from the home, into the

Presidential vs. Parliamentary Political Systems Essay
Presidential vs. Parliamentary Political Systems
There are two main types of political systems, one being a presidential system and the other being
a parliamentary system. Both of them have their own benefits as well as their own disadvantages.
No political system can be perfect or can always have stability, but shown in history there are
successful countries that use either one. Also there are countries that have failed with one of the
two systems.
Firstly there is the presidential system. There are many characteristics to a presidential system.
The first main part of a presidential system is how the executive is elected. The executive is a
president who is elected to a fixed term. Also a president is not only head of ... Show more content

The monarch is a figure head and does no decision making. The voters of a parliamentary system
elect parliament who then elect the prime minister and the cabinet. The prime minister is normally
the leader of the most popular party in parliament. The PM even being the head of government is
not as powerful as the head of government in a presidential system. The parliament of the system
withholds the most power. They make or break any law. Compared to the separation of powers as
in a presidential system there is only a separation of functions. Each part of government has its own
function to perform, but there is no system of checks and balances. An example of the overlapping
of powers is the need of a vote of confidence. A vote of confidence is proposed by a party and
needs backing from the other part of government. With no system of sorts there is more likely of
upheaval and change of rule. There is not as much stability in a parliamentary system as there is
in a presidential. Lastly there is no judicial rule as there is in a presidential system. A
parliamentary system has had success in the past but still is seen as not as successful as a
presidential system.
Most European countries have a parliamentary political system. Britain has a parliamentary system.
Britain s system starts at the voters who vote for Parliament. Parliament then elects and can oust the
executive branch, which is headed by a prime

The Second Wave Of Freedom Movement
Since universities did not accept women students, they were denied a college education.
This movement was hard fought. The campaign for women suffrage was met with such fierce
opposition that it took 72 years for the women and their male supporters to finally be successful.
It was on August 19, 1920 that the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution was passed,
giving all American women the right to vote. This victory was just the beginning of fighting for
women s rights. This movement led to the second wave of rebellion, because much still needed to
be done.
THE SECOND WAVE
The Second wave is a time in history that refers to the Women s Liberation Movement. The year,
1963, was marked with great events happening. The Civil Rights Movement was also taking hold at
that time; two great social movements were rising.
The Women s Liberation Movement was thought of as the Second Wave of women seeking reform.
Second wave activist fought for sexual and reproductive rights, but even more importantly fought
for equal rights in education and in the workplace. Women felt that again great unfairness and
injustices were placed on women.
One fact that stands out during this time of second wave movement is that the women of the 60s
and 70s were daughters of the women who had joined the workforce during World War II. The
women of the 40s and 50s remembered how difficult it was for them and how they were treated
after the war. They felt the discrimination first hand so

My Philosophical Statement Of Inclusion
My Philosophical Statement of Inclusion
The notion of inclusion is progressively being accepted as a vital method of learning in our growing
school systems. I believe that every student, those with and without exceptionalities, have the right
to be included in a general education classroom. Students with learning, social and behavioral
exceptionalities or varied abilities deserve the right to be provided with the same opportunities as
any other students in the regular general education classroom. The information that I have acquired
through my own experiences (in my observations and my classes) have molded my goals as a
future teacher. I believe that teaching and education are fundamental in getting students to grow,
learn, and flourish; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both children with and without exceptionalities learn with and from each other. Also, since both
children with and without exceptionalities are expected to learn to write, read, and do math; higher
expectations can be set and with good instruction children with exceptionalities can excel in these
academic skills.
I also believe that a key element of inclusion is maintaining a close relationship between me and the
special education teachers and paraprofessionals that I will be working with. If it is at all possible
to work together in one classroom, I believe that this will benefit all my students.
I hope to embrace all parts of every student and include all different types of learners as I create
my future classroom. As future and hopeful elementary education teacher I want to give every child
the opportunity to be a part of my classroom.
A Plan to Identify Social, Emotional, and Academic needs
The first part in having a successful inclusive classroom is to identify the social, emotional and
academic needs of all students and meet them. The first thing I would do is to review the student
file to see what has been done or not done in the past. This will give any indication if past needs
or behaviors have been identified or if they have just started. Collecting data will be important here
because I will need a complete and clear picture of students strengths and challenges, so that

Slumdogs Documentary Analysis
Video Response Worksheet SOCI 101 CCBC / Fall 2016 Video 2 / Campisi, Madison
Wetbacks
a.Core Values/ pg. : The values that are central to a group, those are which people build a common
identity. Within this video I believe that this is shown a lot due to the fact that family and their
culture is about all they have to look forward too. The kids in the film are taught right from birth
about their culture what to do and what not to do in the slum life. The one small girl was getting
ready for school one day and her mom asked her how she was going to do on her test the little
girl replied that she was going to get a perfect but that was not good enough for her mom. Her
mother told her to not be too confident because that is how you will not succeed because you
will then think you no longer need to study and work to get good grades if you just assume you ll
be perfect. I believe that showed a lot of different senses of their culture because I know in my
family my mom would be proud of me to say I was going to get a perfect on a test and was
confident about it.

believed it would bring awareness to the way they live and how they hold their values of life so
close to their hearts. It seemed easy for them to tell the camera crew how their lives have been
and how they feel about it and that causes me to feel as if this was one of the best things that
they have done to show that you can make it no matter how hard life gets. These families and the
people that participated in this documentary answered all of the questions that were asked of them

Theories Of Stakeholder Salience
Stakeholder salience is a descriptive theory which is used to qualify the types of stakeholders,
mapping who matters and is influential for the company. The authors of this paper firstly believe
that portfolio companies employees aren t valued enough by the Private Equity firms. In order to
investigate this statement, the stakeholder salience theory was chosen in order to analyze whether
the implementation of the better CSR initiatives reporting could enhance their salience.
The Theory of Stakeholder Identification and Salience by Ronald K. Mitchell, Bradley R. Agle

Mitchell et al. (1997) define power as the degree to which a stakeholder has or can use coercive
(physical), utilitarian (material) or normative (prestige, esteem and social) means to impose its will.
Reputation wise, Gifford (2010) claims that power is linked to reputation risks. Public or private
statements, depending on how powerful they are, affect the reputation of an organization. Hence, a
successful engagement of the stakeholders may exert impact on reputation, through power.
LEGITIMACY is a generalized perception that the actions of an organization are desirable, proper
or appropriate within some socially constructed system of norms, values, beliefs and definitions
(Mitchell et al., 1997). Within the salience model, legitimacy is divided into three types: individual,
organizational and societal legitimacy. Individual: depends on perceived professionalism, status
and level of experience. It is the ability to build trust and develop a good relationship with
management. Organizational: is the level of credibility the organization enjoys in the market.
Societal: is the level of support the community express for the subject of

Furthermore, Sunny had gotten a father figure for himself. The reader also sees Sunny #8217;s
approval of Mac, when Sunny fights with the other kids at school when they taunted him about
Mac. When Sunny fought for Mac the reader comes to comprehend that Mac is a good person.
Having a father figure, Sunny was now able to do many things, such as playing ball with
someone he was able to refer to as #8220;dad #8221; and with someone who loved him so dearly.
Being acquainted to such a situation and how both Rosa Lee and Sunny benefited on Mac
#8217;s arrival to the gas station, the reader has come to view another act of redemption. The
reader can see another act of redemption when Mac and his daughter try to redeem their lost
relationship. Even though, Mac #8217;s daughter wanted to redeem her relationship with her
father, it #8217;s important to make note that it was mainly for the wrong reasons. One reason
why it was important for Mac #8217;s daughter to redeem their relationship was because she
wanted to get approval for her seeing a man that her mother disapproved of. Another reason was
so that she can get money from her father after she runs off with her new boyfriend because she
knew that she would be unable to get money from her mother. Unfortunately, Mac was unable to
get very close to his daughter as he had in mind because his daughter had been found dead.

  • 3. Red’s Redemption- Shawshank Redemption The Shawshank Redemption follows the lives of Ellis Red Redding and Andy Dufresne and their twenty year stint at the Shawshank State Penitentiary. Red (a guilty man) is serving a life sentence for murder, Andy (an innocent man) is serving consecutive life sentences for the murder of his wife and her lover. Throughout the film, Red and Andy form an unlikely friendship that transcends age, race, and class boundaries that ultimately leads to Red s spiritual redemption and freedom. The film is set up for a classic white and black pairing with a magical negro narrative, however, The Shawshank Redemption subverts expectations. Red defies the cinema stereotype of the mystical black man or the Magical Negro because he is portrayed with dignity, because he is the main character and everyman, because he is not extraordinarily wise or supernatural (though he does give advice, it is not his only or main role in the text), and he survives the film having learned a lesson from a white character. This denunciation is significant because it is a rejection of common black/white race relation stereotypes, and because it is a landmark replacement of negative stereotypes with positive realisms in cinema. Celebrated director Spike Lee coined the term at a Yale conference during which he addressed race relations in modern film (Gonzales). This stereotype focuses on a character who the audience identifies as black. This (often supporting) character seems sensible and habitually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Standardized Testing Is Effective And Effective Education has been an important part of society for centuries. Over the years it has slowly evolved into what it is today. The topic of education has been controversial since the beginning. It seems as though there is always someone that sees a need for change in how students are being taught and assessed. More specifically, many people think that standardized testing is not an effective way to assess students. While on the other hand, many also believe that standardized testing is the most efficient and effective way to assess people of all ages. The debate over standardized testing has been shown to effect students and the community in many different ways. Standardized assessments have had huge impacts with both teachers and students. Whether one thinks standardized testing is effective and efficient or misdirecting and unproductive it is a big part of the educational system. While the argument may present that standardized tests leads to simulated knowledge, others argue that standardized tests are very effective in assessing students. In America, standardized testing started to show up during the Industrial Revolution when more and more children began attending school rather than working in factories or on family farms. Due to a back to basics movement during the 1970s, there was a big emphasis on low level functional skills and the proliferation of minimum competency tests (Marzano 9). However by the time we get to the 1990s, standardized tests began to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Violence In The Virgin Suicides In The Virgin Suicides From this analysis and definition of witchcraft and its relation to the player, gossip, one can see how violence may erupt from such cases of witch accusations. Gossip, as an active player in witch hunts and trials can [...] outrun the intentions of [its] creators, producing more violence than is anticipated (Stewart and Strathern 193). Such unanticipated growth within gossip is the result of, as Hurston writes in Their eyes were watchingGod, words walking without masters (2). One can relate words walking without masters as violence walking without masters. In the way that words, gossip, and rumor can snowball, to a certain degree, violence can as well. After misfortunes, most often deaths, within a community, people attribute misfortune to witches and kill them in order to set matters right (Stewart and Strathern 193). Therefore, we see that violence is retribution in witch hunts and is given agency through gossip. In The Virgin Suicides, the community, in effect, kills the Lisbon sisters through violent gossip in retribution for Cecilia s death and the unrest it caused the community. The Lisbon sister s state is reflected through a tree in their front yard that, for a time [...] stood blighted, trying to raise its stunted arms, a creature clubbed mute (Eugenides 173). The vicious words of the community clubbed the sisters, robbing them of their personality. Eventually, the sisters become so ostracized and hated for their inability to be anything but sexual ... The basic physical control is the implementation of security measures in a defined structure used to deter or prevent unauthorized access to sensitive material ( 1.2.1. Physical Controls , n.d.). Also physical controls are safeguards to avoid and minimize any security risk the organization have that involving computer software or even personal property. Some examples of physical control are fences, security guards, access cards, surveillance cameras, biometrics and locks. Cameras are very important in an organization. Depending on governing law and the prevailing corporate culture, many companies have policies which prohibit the taking of pictures on the premises (Seese, 2009). Organization prohibits the taking of pictures on the premises because when an individual is taking pictures he or she might be planning on doing harm to the organization. He or she might want to rob the organization and wants to know how the organization layout looks like from the inside and the outside. Another reason why taking pictures is prohibited in organization is because the individual could learn where the surveillance cameras are located, individual could even take pictures with his or her cell phone, that is why in some organization there is security walking around to prevent any picture to be taken. There are different kinds of biometrics technologies. One category is physiological and another category is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. A Comparative Evaluation Of Private Cloud Computing,... Author: James Madden B.Sc. Hons Title: A Comparative Evaluation of Private Cloud Computing, Automated Provisioning, Deployment and Monitoring Comparing VMware vCloud Director Orchestrator Vs Microsoft s System Centre Orchestrator Private cloud automation is a process where the IT administrator may write scripts which automatically trigger events in response to certain criteria being reached. It may be a new user requesting the provisioning of a desktop, it may be an alert indicating a malfunction or failure of hardware or services, and it may be the monitoring and charge back for the usage of a service. As a result of these requirements the deployment of an Orchestrator comes highly recommended for the automation, instead of the administrator spending maybe hours writing and testing scripts, the Orchestrator allows the administrator to drag and drop the relevant graphics onto a canvas and then run it in the integrated test process prior to deployment into live operation. This dissertation aims to comparatively analyse and evaluate the implementation regarding the performance, cost reduction through reduced administration and usability of the two competing provider s solutions, namely, VMware vCloud Director Orchestrator and Microsoft System Centre Orchestrator. The scope of this study compared the performance and efficiency of both platforms, although the cost saving in administrative time required is closely matched between the two platforms the performance and ... The goal of conservation within health is for an individual to be able to tackle disability and keep one s wholeness intact (Schaefer, 2014). There are four conservation principles in which the Conservation Model goals are met: conservation of energy, conservation of structural integrity, conservation of personal integrity, and conservation of social integrity (Schaefer, 2014). Conservation of energy is the idea that people have a steady balance of energy, in order to support them through life s activities (Schaefer, 2014). In nursing, the conservation of energy is used by performing interventions that lessen demand on the patient. The conservation of structural integrity is the idea of preserving one s functionality by early recognition and nursing interventions (Schaefer, 2014). The nursing intervention would involve assisting the individual in achieving a different level of adaptation. Conservation of personal integrity includes helping the patient obtain self worth and privacy, while they are in such a vulnerable position. The nursing interventions for conservation of personal integrity would involve respecting the patient s wishes, providing privacy, being a patient advocate, etc. Lastly, the conservation of social integrity is based on the nurse supporting the patient on a social level. When we start the game, we take the field first.I head out onto the field to play second base. When we go out there my friends play the bases around me, we talk and communicate to throw the ball to the right base. When the ball is hit to me, I always take a second to make sure that it is coming to me.If I catch the ball I throw it to first unless there was already a runner on first then I throw it to second. When I throw it to second the shortstop gets the ball, tags the base, and throws it to first so we can get a double play. When we get three outs we go up to bat. We get off the field, coach gets us together outside the dugout and tells us to hit the ball and we break it down. After we break it down we go into the dugout and we bat.Cameron my best friend is the first batter, then I am second.Cameron normally bunts because he is fast and can get to first before they throw him out. With Cameron at first I go up to bat and coach normally tells me to hit away.I ... Both have represented the quintessential tragic heroes of two literary periods. Both lovers, Troilus and Hamlet lose what they love despite their earth shaking groans. Both are surrounded by traitors and are traitorous in kind. Both are embattled and this is no secret both die. But somewhere on that mortal coil on which they are both strung, they confront a similar question, a question which divides them in no sense less than the waters divide England and Denmark the question of action. Now, Hamlet comprehends the arbitrary nature of power that would send an army against a minuscule plot of ground. He understands good and evil and the machiavellian wheels that grease the way to the throne as they are, a process in which he is complicit. Hamlet, a once simple prince, is sick at heart. An inextricable belief in fate centers this bitter epistemological com Г«ment. In Hamlet s world, birth alone is a telling reason and excuse for tainted character (1.4.24 26, 1.5.91). But heaven takes part as well; there s a special providence in the fall of a sparrow (5.2.230 231). Taken together, this realization of inequity and the apparently long understood mechanism of biological predestination, are staggering to Horatio s sweet prince. If such biological predestination is true, then how should Hamlet understand the base actions of his family members and of himself? Either his family are impostors to nobility or this idea of predestination is faulty. The play gives ample evidence of a prince who has long dallied in philosophy and seldom lived in the world. Indeed, the transparent nonsense that a person may not exceed his birth is indicative of this. Like Joyce s Stephen Dedalus, Hamlet glamorizes death through his sable clothes. Claudius?and Gertrude s advice is honest, sincere, and worldly: death is the most commonplace of occurrences: accept it and nmove on. When the murder is revealed, progression ... Whether you are betting real money on the game or not, the game would be boring to watch. The possibility of this attending such a scenario does exist for the FIFA world cup provided that FIFA s corruption is allowed to keep manifesting. FIFA, also known as the FГ©dГ©ration Internationale de Football Association and the governing body of soccer, who creates and outlines the rules of the games, is suspected of corruption and it could potentially harm the quality of soccer games. If this happens, the social and fun aspect of the world cup would be entirely diminished. Think of if this happens to your favorite sport. You re throwing a barbeque party celebrating the superbowl, and you know the Patriots are going to win this year. Not because you believe in their skill but because it has all been staged. This leads me to my main point, if FIFA s alleged corruption continues to knowingly grow and something isn t done, it will hinder the prestige the FIFA World Cup . While some may argue soccer has become an important part of many countries history and FIFA has become too big to fail, if matches become more about bribes, politics, and personal bias in a game where outcomes should be decided by skill, people will lose interest. You might think that this doesn t matter and it is only soccer. But in reality, FIFA s corruption is hurting people too. Did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First of all, financial institutions were rare in Britain at this time. Therefore, it was very hard to find an investor in order to buy machines and equipment. Once again, networking practices were crucial to contact aristocrats who were willing to lend money. As Wedgwood explained during the vase madness period, the financial health of the company was in peril even if they sold a considerable amount of vases. In fact, he bought a lot of raw materials but in the same time his business partner didn t collect quite quickly the bills. This situation influenced negatively the liquid assets of Wedgwood s business. As Wedgwood and Bentley were afraid of making the same mistake in the future, they created a price book of workmanship and separate fixed and variable costs. Essay On Astronaut In order to determine whether the term astronaut , as it is presented in Article V of the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies (OST), includes the vast class of personnel who now enter outer space, this paper will adhere to the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (VCLT). Article 31of the VCLT explicitly addresses the process, and general rules of treaty interpretation. By principle, treaty interpretation must be approached in a holistic manner and in good faith and should attempt to protect interests of all parties. In interpreting the meaning of words in treaties, the ordinary meaning of such words must first be considered. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ordinary meaning of travelling includes being a passenger on vehicles moving from point A to point B. In light of this reasoning, scientists, teachers, media, and potential tourists need not be experts in operating space crafts but rather having training in how to travel, or be a passenger in a space craft, and this could suffice. Despite not be a part of the crew operating space crafts, merely being trained to travel in space crafts still satisfies the ordinary meaning of the term astronaut under Art V of the OST. For the purpose of the OST, astronaut is defined as astronauts as envoys of mankind in outer space. If the ordinary meaning of this definition is considered, envoys of mankind lends itself to support this this broader interpretation of the word trained rather than the narrower interpretation of only including experts in operating space crafts being constituted as trained . Envoys of mankind in this case can be interpreted not as diplomatic envoys (as if this was the case this is what would have been stated), but rather they are representatives of mankind in general. This would include all and any member of mankind who is to venture into space and is sent by any population of mankind who inhabit earth. To consider the context of the OST treaty, the preamble and annexes must be examined. The preamble emphasises peaceful activities, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although, there is substantial literature related to local residents participation in tourism development, it mainly focuses on developed countries or mature tourism destinations in developing countries. There is lack of literature on local residents participation in developing countries, especially where tourism development is new. Decision makers and planners often, in the developing countries where tourism development is new, tend to involve public and private sectors without a full consideration of local residents participation in tourism development. Since the late 1800 s people like Thomas Edison have been buying up patents in communication technology, forming monopolies, leading to a non competitive entertainment industry. With only a handful of corporations controlling all aspects of acquisition, distribution and marketing of music, harsh business principles create an exploitative industry that takes the best of what artists have to offer and leaves many of them unable to support themselves. Beginning in the 1950 s with payola and white cover music and ultimately evolving into iTunes and Spotify, the music industryhas grown into a billion dollar industry with far reaching influence and control. Contracts rarely serve the artists best interest and many are left out to dry when their usefulness has expired. In the 1950 s, radio was struggling to keep ratings against the emerging new television craze. Music executives began to pay disk jockeys to play their music. It is called payola and it is still in practice today, although it is technically illegal. Usually, several wind towers are built together in windy places to be called wind farms. Clipart Although this method tackles the problem as we can rely less on fossil fuels, it does have some limitations in the economic factor. Wind turbines are extremely costly to develop and the cost is recovered only decades later. The cost for a commercial scale wind turbine ranges from $1.2 million to $2.6 million, per MW of nameplate capacity installed. Most of the wind turbines today are 2 MW so roughly after installation, a single wind tower could cost around $3.5 million. This is a very large amount and a very high initial cost for a company to invest in. This is one factor why countries usually select fossil fuels. (Carla, eHow) Another factor is the social factor. Wind farms are extremely noisy and spoil the view of people living near them. Wind farms affect communities a lot and force communities to relocate. This also affects the life and welfare of human beings who live near them. It causes noise pollution as well as it is an eye sore. Marcellus Shale Brady Kirman Professor Codella Geography 12/18/15 Assessing Land Use Changes Due to Natural Gas Drilling and Operations in the Marcellus Shale in Bradford County, PA Natural gas began to be extracted from the Marcellus shale formation in the mid 2000s , and now well pads and their associated infrastructures are now well known fixtures in the Appalachian Mountain regions. Marcellus Shale is an organically rich black shale which is currently being explored by drilling as a source of natural gas. The region in question encompasses most of the relatively uninhabited Appalachian basin, which is located within the Appalachian mountain range. The basin is comprised of sedimentary rocks which stretch from Ontario, Canada all the way down through New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and New Jersey. ... Thus making it a well sought after area for drilling companies, looking to drill out the natural gas. In the state of Pennsylvania the county with the most drilling permits is Bradford County in the north east. The Problem with the immense amount of drilling companies in the area, is that land which was once used for agriculture and land which once was home to fields and forests are now being transformed into drilling sights. As of October 2011 the researchers estimated that 276.84 hectares (684.09 acres) of previously unaltered land had been converted to 69 well pads. It s our problem free philosophy, Hakuna Matata. These are the lyrics from the the 1994 Disney movie, The Lion King, which had taken this Swahili phrase and made it famous. By looking at the best argument for skepticism, the best argument against it, the allegory of Plato s cave, and which argument I believe is the best, one can catch a better glimpse of what skepticism is and what one can know. Specific issues that cities began facing more and more included the rise in poor sanitation and health concerns in local tenement housing. In order for women to gain access to the public sphere and emerge out of the private sphere, and gain some sort of status with the men of society, Jane Addams proposed the idea of civic housekeeping which would let women use their skills from the home in order to clean up the issues in local ... Through opening the tenement houses and allowing people to see them and come live in them helped the two women make a name for themselves, with the more well known woman of the pair being recognized for much more, was Jane Addams herself. Addams saw rights and freedom for women as a perfectly possible thing to attain, as she was optimistic and very assertive on her way to work for women s equality and rights. The optimism that Jane Addams had was not without a price to pay on her part, as there were many negatives that had to be dealt with along the way like setbacks in acting, legislation, supporters, etc.7 These settlement housing complexes, along with other emerging municipally supported housing and projects, were failing considerably as time went on, in more ways than not. Ways these housing and government projects were failing were in hygiene and sanitation, in addition to perishable products that went uninspected, like meat and dairy products, which eventually made citizens very ill, and even killed a few. Local factories emitting toxic fumes also did not help the issue at all8 Toward the late 19th century, as more and more women began entering the workforce and emerging from the home, into the ... Presidential vs. Parliamentary Political Systems Essay Presidential vs. Parliamentary Political Systems There are two main types of political systems, one being a presidential system and the other being a parliamentary system. Both of them have their own benefits as well as their own disadvantages. No political system can be perfect or can always have stability, but shown in history there are successful countries that use either one. Also there are countries that have failed with one of the two systems. Firstly there is the presidential system. There are many characteristics to a presidential system. The first main part of a presidential system is how the executive is elected. The executive is a president who is elected to a fixed term. Also a president is not only head of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The monarch is a figure head and does no decision making. The voters of a parliamentary system elect parliament who then elect the prime minister and the cabinet. The prime minister is normally the leader of the most popular party in parliament. The PM even being the head of government is not as powerful as the head of government in a presidential system. The parliament of the system withholds the most power. They make or break any law. Compared to the separation of powers as in a presidential system there is only a separation of functions. Each part of government has its own function to perform, but there is no system of checks and balances. An example of the overlapping of powers is the need of a vote of confidence. A vote of confidence is proposed by a party and needs backing from the other part of government. With no system of sorts there is more likely of upheaval and change of rule. There is not as much stability in a parliamentary system as there is in a presidential. Lastly there is no judicial rule as there is in a presidential system. A parliamentary system has had success in the past but still is seen as not as successful as a presidential system. Most European countries have a parliamentary political system. Britain has a parliamentary system. Britain s system starts at the voters who vote for Parliament. Parliament then elects and can oust the executive branch, which is headed by a prime ... • 47. The Second Wave Of Freedom Movement Since universities did not accept women students, they were denied a college education. This movement was hard fought. The campaign for women suffrage was met with such fierce opposition that it took 72 years for the women and their male supporters to finally be successful. It was on August 19, 1920 that the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution was passed, giving all American women the right to vote. This victory was just the beginning of fighting for women s rights. This movement led to the second wave of rebellion, because much still needed to be done. THE SECOND WAVE The Second wave is a time in history that refers to the Women s Liberation Movement. The year, 1963, was marked with great events happening. The Civil Rights Movement was also taking hold at that time; two great social movements were rising. The Women s Liberation Movement was thought of as the Second Wave of women seeking reform. Second wave activist fought for sexual and reproductive rights, but even more importantly fought for equal rights in education and in the workplace. Women felt that again great unfairness and injustices were placed on women. One fact that stands out during this time of second wave movement is that the women of the 60s and 70s were daughters of the women who had joined the workforce during World War II. The first thing I would do is to review the student file to see what has been done or not done in the past. The kids in the film are taught right from birth about their culture what to do and what not to do in the slum life. The one small girl was getting ready for school one day and her mom asked her how she was going to do on her test the little girl replied that she was going to get a perfect but that was not good enough for her mom. Her mother told her to not be too confident because that is how you will not succeed because you will then think you no longer need to study and work to get good grades if you just assume you ll be perfect.
