Microservice Teams - How the cloud changes the way we workSven Peters
A lot of technical challenges and complexity come with building a cloud-native and distributed architecture. The way we develop backend software has fundamentally changed in the last ten years. Managing a microservices architecture demands a lot of us to ensure observability and operational resiliency. But did you also change the way you run your development teams?
Sven will talk about Atlassian’s journey from a monolith to a multi-tenanted architecture and how it affected the way the engineering teams work. You will learn how we shifted to service ownership, moved to more autonomous teams (and its challenges), and established platform and enablement teams.
Consistent toolbox talks are critical for maintaining workplace safety, as they provide regular opportunities to address specific hazards and reinforce safe practices.
These brief, focused sessions ensure that safety is a continual conversation rather than a one-time event, which helps keep safety protocols fresh in employees' minds. Studies have shown that shorter, more frequent training sessions are more effective for retention and behavior change compared to longer, infrequent sessions.
Engaging workers regularly, toolbox talks promote a culture of safety, empower employees to voice concerns, and ultimately reduce the likelihood of accidents and injuries on site.
The traditional method of conducting safety talks with paper documents and lengthy meetings is not only time-consuming but also less effective. Manual tracking of attendance and compliance is prone to errors and inconsistencies, leading to gaps in safety communication and potential non-compliance with OSHA regulations. Switching to a digital solution like Safelyio offers significant advantages.
Safelyio automates the delivery and documentation of safety talks, ensuring consistency and accessibility. The microlearning approach breaks down complex safety protocols into manageable, bite-sized pieces, making it easier for employees to absorb and retain information.
This method minimizes disruptions to work schedules, eliminates the hassle of paperwork, and ensures that all safety communications are tracked and recorded accurately. Ultimately, using a digital platform like Safelyio enhances engagement, compliance, and overall safety performance on site. https://safelyio.com/
Preparing Non - Technical Founders for Engaging a Tech AgencyISH Technologies
Preparing non-technical founders before engaging a tech agency is crucial for the success of their projects. It starts with clearly defining their vision and goals, conducting thorough market research, and gaining a basic understanding of relevant technologies. Setting realistic expectations and preparing a detailed project brief are essential steps. Founders should select a tech agency with a proven track record and establish clear communication channels. Additionally, addressing legal and contractual considerations and planning for post-launch support are vital to ensure a smooth and successful collaboration. This preparation empowers non-technical founders to effectively communicate their needs and work seamlessly with their chosen tech agency.Visit our site to get more details about this. Editor's Notes
We’re going to focus on collaboration within Office 365.
Integration of all these tools. You may use similar tools in collaboration, but Microsoft allows integrations between multiple tools all within the Office 365 suite, that you are already paying for. Maximize your investment on o365.
Demo this on an excel attendance form for the lunch and learn. JP can add names from his computer while I change colors.
ONE DRIVE - There are many ways to access your cloud files, and it doesn’t have to upend your workflow. Why office 365 has more convenience and tools). Allow me to demonstrate. (Demo opening files in file explorer and finding those same files in My one Drive. All staff pictures are easiest I think. )
Share files from the file, from outlook, copy a link, send as an attachment instead of a link to a live documents\. Its VERY versatile.
Show different sharepoints I am a part of. Training team, I can find shared picture resources as well as templates for the articles I write. Now I am technically the only person in training, but so many others have a hand. I need our Marketing Director to be able to access and edit anything I’m showing clients. I need the Ams to access my attendance list so they know which clients still need to take their security training this year. I need my tech resources to be able to access knowledgebase I write, so they can proofread and correct any technical errors in my training. And if I’m sick on a training day, chances are we don’t have to cancel, my resources and notes are all in here. I can just make sure that someone can get them and give the training.
This is great for note keeping. Take notes on your phone and have them ready at your computer when you return. Keep a log of standing meetings that your teammates can check back on when the meeting is over. Insert media to enhance your ideas. Record a meeting audio and add text notes as you go along.
Super easy to just start using, and can be made for interactive for your needs. Let’s look at the planning stages for this meeting…
In our teams we have a couple of fun only channels like doggos and kittehs, but we also use this to enhance our workflow and collaboration. Where did matt go? Let’s call him and get him involved in this lunch and learn.
Frankly I like to check in on delve every once in a while just to see what everyone is working on. That’s how I found out what our gifts for the 15th anniversary party were going to be ahead of time.
Flow is amazing, smart, simple automation, buuuut it does take a bit of knowledge to use. Its similar to rules but with much more powerful capabilities. One of their premade ones is super convenient, it just takes any attachments sent to you in outlook, and puts it into your one drive folder.
Knowledge base is my jelly and my jam. All a bunch of tech tips and trick, explanations with images, videos and more. Some of what we talked about today, we go more into depth on the how tos in here. Actually currently working on flow/planner one.
Client portal – new and improved. Not just for tickets, but you can use this as a hub for your Office 365 apps, training, and more. I was put on a spare machine and used this to make sure I got access to all the applications and websites I hadn't bothered to memorize because they were auto filling in my browser.
Teams is a big one, so we've compiled a user guide and keyboard shortcuts.
