PROJECT FOCUS
 To implement a flipped classroom style of teaching
with selected topics initially with my year 7 class

 To find good resources to help teach without using
a textbook
 To set up a wiki page for Year 7 to store and help
students access worksheets and other resources
FLIPPED CLASSROOM – HOW DOES IT WORK?
 Year 7 class with students of above average Mathematics
ability

 Homework – consisted of two parts :
class

* firstly - exercises reinforcing what was taught in
today or revising work

* secondly – watching a video or maths online ,or
reading
about what we are learning during the next
lesson.
Students make notes in their books .
FLIPPED CLASSROOM – HOW DOES IT WORK?
Classtime :
Discussing what they have learnt from their
homework,
adding notes if necessary .
More challenging questions are also dealt with
during
the lesson.
Investigation or problem solving type of activities
are
completed during classtime.
Eg: Petrol vs diesel cars – which is the better
option?
MATHEMATICS WIKI PAGE
Why do we need a wiki page?
 To store worksheets and allow girls to access and locate
the worksheets easily
 To have a place for the girls to go to find further material if
they need some extra practice
 To store website links for videos, summary sites and
interactive activities for both the staff and students to find
easily
 To allow the girls to access homework activities each
lesson without having to copy from board or emailing
 To allow girls who are absent from class to quickly find out
what they have missed and be up to date by the next lesson.
