They reviewed their work as they went by comparing to existing products, but this didn't help much with their tabloid.

Local Newspaper Layout
- 2. Front Page Layout 1 This was my original idea for my front page. I decided to change this on the first day I began making my project as I thought of ways in which I can improve it so I re-drew an idea for it which can be seen on the next slide.
- 3. Front Page Layout 2 This is my final version of my front page layout. Some things I kept the same as my first version as I believe they were done in such a way that it looked realistic like the adverts, masthead, nameplate, logo, ear and my plugs/puffs/adverts bar. I believe where I have placed these makes my paper look realistic as the adverts are typically found at the bottom and in my research I found many newspapers that featured a plug/puff/advert bar so that was where I found my inspiration for that. I decided to move my main story around a bit and give it a bit more room. I did this as I think it makes it look more eye catching as the headline isn’t tucked away to the side, but instead has a large area above the main image and story which also helps show that they’re related. I also decided to add a strapline and caption as I think this helps my paper look professionally finished and well thought out.
- 4. Inside Page Layout I was very happy with my original idea for my inside page and so stuck to it when making my final piece. I believe that it features all the typical connotations of an inside page that I found in my research and therefore it looks authentic. I made sure to include a large banner advert along the bottom as I found this was done in many local newspapers such as the North Somerset Times. I also made sure that it was clear what is related to what by including gaps in between each section which I could then put thin black lines in as I had seen this done during my research.
