2. Witness statement
This is the witness statement that a teacher completed for me on my pitch. This evaluates how
I completed most the tasks in my LO4/Pitch. However, I have not yet completed all my tasks,
which will be a part of my corrections.
3. Survey monkey
I will be creating a survey monkey in order to get more feedback on my
LO4. This is good because I will be able to determine what else must be
improved. This is because my assessor may have missed something
that somebody else did not, therefor by getting more feedback I am
able to make more improvements.
4. Everybody who witnessed my pitch and answered my survey on it agreed that my proposal was
detailed enough. This is good because it means that I did not miss out any small details, therefore I
will be less prone to errors as I am more organized and know what needs to be done and when.
Therefor the flow of production will be much smoother, meaning it will be easier to meet deadlines.
5. Half of the people taking the survey thinks that I was above average when
producing my pitch. The other half saying it was average. This is good as nobody
said below average which means that I was confident enough to produce my work
in a way that was good and professional.
6. One piece of constructive criticism I received was to speak louder. This is vital as
everybody in the room must be able to hear me. If I was speaking louder, people
would be less likely to miss things that I am saying, therefore word get a better
understanding about my poster.
7. Everyone either agreed or strongly agreed with my chosen poster. This is good
because I know my decision with the black font instead of the white font was
correct..
8. In order to improve on my poster, I received some constructive criticism from peers
who took the survey. One person said I need to include more on the poster, which
can be done by resizing the font so that there is more space on the poster for more
information.

11. Location Recce
Before going out to take
the photos, I need to
complete a Location Recce.
This is so that we are more
organized when it comes to
shooting. Silly things wont
be forgotten such as
camera gear and hazards.
This also increases the
safety of shooting as
potential risks have been
taken into account and
everything has been more
well organized.
12. Proposal
This is my proposal for
my poster print based
advertisement. This
includes my aims and
objectives and the
audience theories behind
the main demographic
that I will be aiming at. In
addition to this, I briefly
talk about my campaign
message.
13. Campaign message
The campaign message of music festivals are to go out to see your favorite artists and have a good
time in doing so by escaping from reality and living in the moment. Music festivals are generally
events that people will spend the entire day at. Some festivals have a USP that can be used as their
campaign message. For example, Wireless has a USP (unique selling point) where they hold the
festival over 3 days. This means that they will have more artists performing, therefor will be
reaching a huge target audience.
14. Photo-shoot plan
This is my photo-shoot plan for my print based advertisement. This is how I
will plan out and organize how I will go about getting the images that I need.
It is rather brief as I just need a landscape image to base my print based
advertisements image off of.
15. House styles
The house style which I will be are colors that contrast with each other in order to
capture the attention of the target audience. As the core audience will be young
adults, I will not be using too many vibrant colors as this can be seen as childish and
our audience may dismiss it. Therefor, by using darker colours on the poster, it will
come across as more mature, therefor reaching our target audience of young
adults.
17. Improvements to poster
These are some of the improvements I
made to my poster from the comments
I received on my witness statement. I
have made the dates slightly smaller,
which allowed me to move all the text
up so that it would not be touching the
bottom of the poster. This is good
because it means that the poster looks
more professional and no text will be
cut off the bottom by accident during
printing. Second to this, by having the
dates smaller, the actual days and the
artists that are performing stand out
more, therefor the target audience will
be more likely to notice the artists that
are playing before the date, therefor
would be more likely to attend the
festival as if they see one of their
favorite artists name, the date will not
matter.
18. Budget Summary
Equipment Cost
Office space £7.40 per day
Apple MacBook pro x4 £1,124.00
each
£3,372 total
Desk x8 £59.99 each
£479.92 total
Chairs x8 £25.00 each
£200 total
Staff Salary
Editors £12.32 per
hour
Designers £10.21 per
hour
Photographers £24.59 per
hour
Human Resources (HR) £10.12 per
hour
Advertising the festival by putting
the magazine into a magazine would
cost around £400 at the least and
£3000 to advertise in bigger
magazines such as Q and NME. It
would be a better idea to advertise
in a magazine with weekly
circulation, all though this would cost
more it means that more people
would see the advertisement,
resulting in larger brand recognition.
Therefor, more people will turn up to
the festival, making it more
successful.
19. Risk assessment
Photography risk assessment
The location these photos were taken was in a market. The potential hazard and risk of this is
pedestrians walking through the shot.
Area risk assessment
The location these photos were taken was in a market. The potential hazard and risk of this is
pedestrians walking through the shot.
Software Risk assessment (resizing image)
One potential risk of using software such as Photoshop is that when you are resizing images. This is
because images can become stretched or pixilated if you make a small image too large or do not
hold shift when resizing an image.
20. Issues (Regulatory & Legal, Ethical
Watermarking: some images may be watermarked in order to prevent people from stealing the
image. It allows the creator to advertise their work without it being stolen and used for plagiarism.
A watermark is essentially the owners name across one of their intellectual properties.
The Data Protection act: The data protection act controls how a company uses your private
information . There are strict rules called ‘data protection principles, this insures that information is
used in a fair and secure legal way that is accurate. This information must also be kept safe and
secure so people private information does not get leaked.
Ethical issues: when creating a festival poster, some consequences may arise after its release to the
public. Firstly, if the poster has a model on it, that person must be over the age of 18, if they are not
then we will need the parent/guardians consent. Any potential offense such as age, gender, race
and religion etc must be taken into account. This is because if these are not taken into account and
a group of people get offended, it gives the festival a bad reputation.
21. Copyright
The copyright law 1998 was set up in order to protect
any creative work and their creators. If something is not
protected by copyright, it is available for use by anyone
without consent. If someone has copyright ownership
over any material, in order to use this material for
anything one must get consent from the creator. When
there is an infringement, only th owner or their
exclusive licensee can bring proceedings in the courts
against said infringement.

22. Conclusion
From LO5, I have covered many parts of the Unit and made improvements from my feedback that I
have received from both peers and assessors. The information and feedback I have received has
been vital towards making improvements to make my print based advertisement for the music
festival the best It can be.
I have also been able to educate myself on the legal side and how people are represented on print
based advertisements. This has helped as if I was ever to make a print based advertisement in the
future, I am experienced and I know the possible legal repercussions if I did anything that went
against regulatory, legal, ethical or copyright rules.
