The For The American Education System
Traci is a student in the fall semester in Tyler Junior college. She is from India and still very new to
the American Education System. English is not her first language, but she is extremely grateful going
to college in America and having her childhood dream come true. After all, her green card is still in
process and she is unable to get a job or get any kind of funds to help her with her education. She has
to pay for all her expenses out of her pocket, which is very difficult, given her current financial
situation. Fortunately, Tyler Junior college offers an installment tuition fees, which helps students like
Traci to go to college. She depends on the library for the reserve textbooks without having to buy her
own.
During the first week of the school, two professors had given her assignments to read a chapter before
she came to the next class. That day, she had a couple of hours before she headed out to volunteer
work that she signed up for at church, so she decided to go to the library after class and finish the
assignments. She went to the front desk at the library, and asked for the two reserved textbooks. The
person behind the desk, informed Traci, that students are allowed to check out one book at a time. Fair
enough she thought, and she checked out a text book, found an empty table, sat down, and opened up
the chapter that she wanted to read. Guess what? Her jaw dropped, because that chapter had 32 pages.
It may not be a lot for many students, but knowing that

Talia Pocket Watch
Talia open and closed the pocket watch. Opened, close, reopened, closed. The metal had grown warm
in her hands, and the clicking sound it made made had started to dull. The pastor continued to drone
on about her father. What a good man he was, and what a great loss it was to their community. She
smiled bitterly. Not many people had actually liked him. One could only describe her father as
guarded. She pulled the sleeves on her sweater back over her wrists and tried to tune in for a bit. She
eventually gave up and went back to opening and closing the pocket watch. It seemed that no one else
could hear it snapping shut. She shook her head. It wasn t like they were actually mourning, after
meeting her father for the first time people in this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was the side off him no one else ever saw. The dad they saw on the weekends. The person that
dropped everything because he saw Talia crying. The one that did whatever it was necessary to make
it to Aaron s baseball games. The one that took them out for ice cream every Saturday. Being that
close to someone wasn t something that came easy to their father and therefore it didn t come easy to
them. They were learning, and they all did it together. That was what was important. Being together
through everything. She looked at the pocket watch again. Other than her and Aaron the watch had
been one of his only focuses. It wasn t really the watch just what it said. Time. He micromanaged
everything he could. Timed everything and normally kept to a strict schedule. The talking stopped and
Talia looked up. Everything was silent and no one had stuck around longer than they had to. Just like
her dad s office building. She stood up shakily and walked outside. Bright sunlight flashed in her eyes
and she squinted to see through it. It almost made her want to laugh. Even the weather didn t care that
her father had died. It almost seemed brighter, in fact. She continued fiddling with the pocket watch
absentmindedly as she walked back to the

Traditional Garments of Ancient Civilizations Still Worn...
Asia Saree / Sari The sari (or saree ) is a cloth with a length ranging from five to more than nine yards
that is tied and folded loosely around a woman s body to create it in a form of a dress. The sari is
weaved primarily made from cotton threads, but other variations, such as linen and silk and recently,
polyester, have also been used to create the fabric needed for this popular dress among the Indians
(Kamat, 2012). The sari is reported to be 5,000 years old, originating from the Indus Valley
civilization, dated between 2800 1800 B. C. It is said to have evolved from the word Sattika or Sadi
(Prakrit), which simply means, strip of cloth. Further, tracing the history of the sari, it was construed
that the sari actually originated from the male dress dhoti, which is the male counterpart for the sari.
From the sari, an idea for a women s dress developed, and throughout the centuries, this dress became
more elaborate and developed, eventually becoming to what is known as sari today (Kumar, 2001).
One of the unique characteristics of the sari (and dhoti) is that these dresses are unstitched. Apparently
and reportedly, there is a certain sacredness to the fact that the sari is not a stitched garment (Kumar,
2001). While the sari is currently used as a functional and aesthetic dress, it initially served as a
functional dress: the cotton material used for the sari and its initial use as worn only around the waist
and over the shoulder (reportedly women use the sari

The Case Of Counsel With Rape Of Two White Women By The...
The defendant had been charged with rape of two white women by the state of Alabama. The
defendant s argument in the subsequent appeals was that they had been denied their right to due
process because they were not allowed to confer with their attorney. In the case argued before the
Supreme Court, it was held that due process of law had not been adhered to. This was as a result of the
incapability of the defendants to employ counsel and also because of their incapability to undertake
their own defense. The court held that it was the obligation of the trial court whether it had been
requested or not, to undertake the assignment of counsel as a critical pre condition to the fulfillment of
due process of law (Calhoun, 1988). The court noted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was a statement of request that the young African Americans should be removed from the
freight train. There was a testimony by the two white girls that were also aboard the freight train that
they had been raped by the six African American youths in turns. The six youths were taken into
custody by the law enforcement agencies of Alabama. They were
met with great hostility by the Alabama community. The judge in the case appointed all members of
the bar to facilitate arraignment of the accused. The federal Supreme Court reviewed the judgments on
the basis that the defendants were denied the due process of the law by failure by the previous courts
to exercise fairness, impartiality and purpose in the trial process (Horne, 1997). This contravened the
guarantees of the Fourteenth Amendment. The Supreme Court also observed that the defendants were
not afforded the right of counsel including periods of consultation and the opportunity for effective
preparation of their trial. The trial for Powell v. Alabama was commenced and adjudged in one day.
Discussion
In the deliberations of Powell v. Alabama, none of the white boys who were alleged to have been
assaulted by the African American youths were called to give their testimony. It was also noted by the
court that news had reached the Scottsboro community regarding the fact that the African American
youths had been taken into custody by a sheriff of the state. The defendants were met at

Women s Rights From 1877 To The 1970s
The extension of women s rights from 1877 to the mid 1970s, has changed over time along with the
ideals of the different eras. From the original traditional values to those wild and free spirits that
dominated the culture in the seventies, since then women and their rights have changed.
The improvement of women s rights began back when Republicans first began to work on the
Fifteenth amendment, this amendment was ratified in 1870 and it made the denial of voting due to
race, illegal. The exclusion of women from this amendment caused women s right s activists to start to
take a stand and raise their voices for what they thought they deserved. Elizabeth Cady Stanton was

The most common ways women of different ethnicities were held back were by being barred from
certain jobs. Black, and Latina women were not allowed to work in the southern textile industry, or
hold a secretarial job like many white women did. Instead they were forced to become maids, and
laundresses. (Schaller 594) Another example of the lack of improvement for women in minorities is
the percentage of young Italian girls who were withdrawn from school, in order for them to help
support their family. Roughly 90% left school at the age of 14 to find work. (Schaller 629) Even
though white women were steadily making progress towards equality with their own organizations,
african american women did not see such immediate progress. So they decided to create their own
similar groups such as the National Association of Colored Women. This group took its stance on it s
own separate set of issues such as lynching, and defending the respect of black women. (Schaller 686)
Ida B. Wells, a founding member of the NAACP took the lead on the lynchings, her crusade lead her

Capital Budgeting
The main principle of the capital budget is to channel the total distribution of state expenditures for
public services. To present the greatest possible outline of current and planned capital investments and
assure state governments ability to borrow will not increase nor decrease. This paper will discuss how
the debt capacity of state is established and then discuss and assess the effect of repaying or

According to Lee, Johnson, amp; Joyce (2008), Capital budgets assist in deciding how much of each
type of investment is necessary, and assist in evaluating available revenues (including loans) to
finance those investments.
States and most local governments do not use current revenues to pay for their capital projects. For
example, the construction of prisons, school building, or public university. These projects are usually
financed from bond revenues. The purchasers of the bond lend the funds to the states that are
necessary to finance the project. States, in turn, pledge to pay the bondholders the principal of the loan
plus a stipulated rate of return according to Gosling (2002). According to Lee, Johnson, amp; Joyce
(2008), In the United States, although some local governments borrow from banks for temporary
operating funds, the main source of debt finance is the issuance of bonds.
Determining Debt Capacity
The City of Toledo has a bond insurance practice, and funds which contains working with fiscal
working groups in planning of the Order, disclosure information, and the organizing of the bond

The Success Of Carlos Ghosn
THE SUCCESS OF CARLOS GHOSN IN NISSAN AND RENAULT ALLIENCE Today in this
modern era everybody is getting practical, now a days people only like to believe in facts and never
trust in something that does not exist or they do not consider real but there is one thing that does exist
but not everybody believes in it, i.e., Miracle . Basically what is miracle...? An effect or extraordinary
event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and ascribed to be a
supernatural cause (Dictionary.com, 2014, what is miracle) but people sometimes take miracle
otherwise, they limit miracles to just scriptural sense, i.e., only related to bible, (Wayne Jackson, 1998
2014), but I believe that some miracles are part of our complicated and practical life, which do exist in
the real world, which have the capacity to astonish people with their surprising results and the
outcome of which can change somebody s (Nissan Motors) life forever and with this perception in
mind I have described a magical story in my essay about Renault and Nissan Motor s collaboration ,
and its outcome on Nissan s survival, in which the role of miracle man is played by Carlos Ghosn who
changed the structure of the company and brought it out from the state of big losses (Approximately
$22 Billion) to the state of huge profits within a very short period of time (Within 18 19 months of

Cultural Appropriation Of The United States
It has become one of the leading issues especially in the United States in the past few years. In the
world today, many people are witless as to what is cultural appropriation. Cultural appropriation
defines as when one culture adopts an element of another culture. (Uwujaren 9/30/13) When it comes
to Cultural appropriation a lot of the South Asian culture get appropriated. Being a South Asian myself
I feel obligated to let people know.
There are many examples of cultural appropriation today, such as henna tattoos, bindi s, sports team
names, and even clothes. These cultures or traditions have become a fad for people, especially in
America. People who are within the culture tend to get offended when their culture is made into a fad.
There are many arguments in newspapers, blogs, and articles that are against cultural appropriation. I,
myself have come upon many posts on Tumblr.com that have to do with Cultural appropriation.
Huffingtompost.com also has multiple articles on the subject.
One of the cultures that has been appropriated is Henna. Henna tattoos also known as mehndi have
become a sort of fashion in America for the past year. One can get henna tattoos applied anywhere at
any time. Yet the majority of Americans who go to carnivals, theme parks, and rodeos have no idea
where henna originates from and what it is actually meant for. Henna tattoos originated from
subcontinent India before Pakistan. (Parmer 11/13) It is meant to be put on during happy occasions

Conservatism In Strictly Ballroom
A life lived in fear is a life half lived . Discuss how this notion is explored in Strictly Ballroom.
Establishing Baz Luhrmann s acclaimed Red Curtain trilogy, Strictly Ballroom explores the notion
that a life lived in fear is a life half lived, through his effective use of characterisation, setting,
symbolism and cinematography. The coming of age piece follows two ballroom dancers through their
battle against conventionality, during the height of the rigorous 1980 s Australian dance culture.
Furthermore, an emphasis on exaggeration is portrayed within the film to exemplify the notion of
regret, which directs viewers into an animated like perception of theatre, as urged by Luhrmann.

Due to fear of confrontation, Doug Hastings is portrayed as submissive, through the depiction of
power and domination imposed by both his wife and Barry Fife. Doug lives his life in the shadows
and is treated with an element of disdain by both his family and the dancing fraternity. It becomes
apparent to the audience that Doug has a point to make to Scott: Son, can I bend your ear for a tick.
Ultimately, Doug embodies the notion of living a life in fear: We had the chance but we were scared.
We walked away... In addition, towards the conclusion of the film when Doug explains the truth about
his dance past to Scott, a point of view shot is employed by Luhrmann to demonstrate the action from
Doug s point of view. This is achieved specifically as he looks around him before jumping off the
stage. Furthermore, Doug s newfound courage is apparent in line shall we dance? directed at his wife.
He is finally standing up to Barry Fife, and joining his son in the rebellion of the dance academy. The

Comparison Of Paranoia In Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy And 1984
Alfredson s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Orwell s 1984 both illustrate atmospheres of paranoia
through imagery, fear of losing relationships and setting. Through these illustrations both creators
generate tension and fear throughout their characters actions and lives, causing the tension to build up
within the audience as they experience the paranoia throughout the texts.
Alfredson s and Orwell s texts Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and 1984 both portray atmospheres of

Types Of Collateral Used For Business Lending
When it comes to the type of collateral used for business lending, real estate is the most common one
irrespective of the firm size. About 40% of all banks rank real estate as the most preferred type of
collateral used for business lending in small, medium and large firms. The next most important forms
of collateral used across all firm sizes are cash and other liquid assets (approx. 22%) followed by (10
15 percent of banks) personal and bank guarantees.
When banks across developed and developing countries are compared, it was observed that developed
countries rank real estate as the most important type of collateral more frequently than the developing
countries. About 56% of the developed country banks rank real estate as the most important collateral
type for business lending to small firms compared to only 37 % of the developing country banks. In
case of developing countries, the banks consider a higher variety of collaterals as important. Though
cash, liquid assets, personal and bank guarantees are rated as important types of collateral by banks in
both developed and developing countries, land and equipment are rated as important collateral types
only in developing country banks (Little less than 15%).
Significant differences exist across the type of bank ownership regarding the type of assets used as

banks have ranked it at top). But for domestic privately owned

II. Overview of the Diagnostic Tool
a. Definition
In a nutshell, functional competency inventory and design, is a tool which aims to measure the
competencies of functional groups of organizations, which are affected by their respective core
objectives. In 1973, McClelland supported testing for competence, rather than intelligence. By
definition, competencies are general descriptions of the abilities necessary to perform successfully in
areas specified. Competency profiles synthesize skills, knowledge, attributes and values, and express

Unlike Core Competency Inventory and Design, Functional Competency Inventory and Design
focuses on and measures the competency (knowledge, skills, personal attributes, and behavior) of
functional groups. These groups are based on organization s structure and are the formal groups on
organizational charts. These groups have their tasks and leaders chosen by higher management.
Functional groups usually have specific rules of operation and clearly defined superior subordinate
relationships. For example, in the school setting, the Head Registrar is the designated leader of a
functional group of subordinates that includes a number of assistant registrars, liaison officer, and
secretaries.
What Functional Competency Inventory and Design does is that it measures the competency required
for each functional area, as like in the above mentioned example, the Registrar s office, and checks
whether the members of the group has the competency required for the functional area. Another way
of seeing functional groups would be to see that these functional groups are equivalent to departments
in companies. So Finance, Marketing, Operations, Research and Development, and other departments
of the corporation are all functional groups, whose competency can be measured through this

Keystone Cruiser
In American, summer may be the season for beer, but beer maker Keystone Light has found itself in
hot market competing against some major brands. With many of the premium brands upselling their
light beers, Keystone has been forced into a position where it must be bold if it wishes to survive. By

far more valuable than the premium beers that they are up against.
The essence of the Cruiser is that they are able to find enjoyment from the small things in life. The
cruiser does not need much and Canhole embodies that. While a premium beer drinker may need more
expensive and more elaborate means of entertainment, the cruiser can find enjoyment by utilizing a
cardboard box and some empty beer cans. The Cruiser is likely to be a person that believes in
simplicity, is friends and family oriented, and can laugh at themselves (Schiffman Wisenblit, 2014).

Strong Interest Inventory Of A Career Assessment
Strong Interest Inventory Evaluation The Strong Interest Inventory is a career assessment that began
as the Strong Campbell Interest Inventory in 1927 and was developed by E.K. Strong Jr. (Blackwell
Case, 2008). It was created from the observations that were made of the interests of workers in
varying careers (Yazak, 2014). From such observations, Strong believed that individuals who have
interest that are similar to those of people in a particular career tend to experience greater satisfaction
if they work in that area than if they enter an occupation with people of dissimilar interests (Yazak,
2014). Test Coverage and Use The Strong Interest Inventory includes 291 items that are meant to
measure an individual s interests in many different areas including their hobbies and compares the
interests of workers in 130 occupations (Blackwell Case, 2008). This inventory may be taken by
individuals starting at the age of thirteen and going on through adulthood given that it meant to help
individuals get a better picture of occupations that might fit best for them. There are a total of four
categories of scales in the Strong Interest Inventory including the General Occupational Themes,
Basic Interest Scales, Personal Style Scales, and Occupational Scales (Herk Thompson, 2011). The

independence they have been longing for, parents will no longer have to chauffeur their children
around, along with the teens running errands and performing tasks for their parents, and car ownership
and driving teaches teenagers the values of trustworthiness and responsibility. The ownership of a
motor vehicle and the ability to drive provides teenagers with a sense of independence that they desire.
As the teenagers grow up, they will inevitably have to live their own life at some time, and driving and
car ownership is the introduction to this. Teenagers need the feeling that they are growing up, and don
t need to rely on their parents as much as they once did. In the article, Reasons That Teenagers Should
Be Able to Drive , it states, Driving is an important milestone that allows teenagers to transition from
childhood into adulthood independently. Having access to a driver s license means that your child can

Collectivism, like individualism, has two extremes ranging from willing cooperation at one end to a
grudging acceptance at the other (Farnham D, 1993, p36 7) It is important to understand that no
company is strictly individualist or collectivist and the links between the two employee relations are
not incompatible with each other. Overall, BA has the collectivist approach because large emphasis is
on the group. One such example is the nurturing of cabin crew. Families of staff are created to work
the same shift patterns. This was pursued to encourage mutual support, make cabin crew feel
comfortable about their working environment, and as a result, facilitate the production of emotional
labour (I Grugulis and A Wilkinson, 2001, p13).
#61656; Unitary or pluralist management styles?
As for a particular type of Management style in practice, this is difficult to say, as there is overlap
between the two main categories; unitary and the pluralist. BA has some of the characteristics of the
unitary approach in the sense that the different departments consist of teams of people working
together towards common aims and there s a presence of strong leadership to create loyalty. Strong
emphasis is placed on employee training, which BA takes very seriously in order to create

Dave Pelzer tells his story to help others heal from the trauma of the past. You may remember that in

that they want to live with them at any cost. This was not Dave Pelzer s experience. He grew to hate
his mother for singling him out for systematic torture. His anger helped him survive: quot;I wanted to

Essay On Birth Defect
It is hard for family to be informed that a child is born with some kind of birth defect. Parents are
under tremendous stress once they are informed about a defect and then have to decided what they
should do to help fix their child s defect. The day a parent finds out they are pregnant, most people are
very excited. No one ever wants their baby to be born with a birth defect. A special group of parents
must be chosen to have a child with a defect. There are only a few options to choose from when a
parent has to pick what they should do to care their baby. Most parents are willing for their child to
have surgery if the surgery will help, but there is always some who fear for their baby to undergo
surgery. For the parents who are against the options of their baby having surgery they choose
abortions or getting their child prescribed medicine. Parents wanting their child to have surgery trust
surgeons to operate on their child and are okay that their child may be a little different than other

Today the world is blessed to have many intelligent doctors and surgeons to help fix an infant s defect.
The most common birth defects are a cleft lip or palate and a heart defect. To fix these common
defects surgery is usually an option. To let a child undergo surgery is a very scary thing to do. When
any parent makes the choice of surgery to help fix their child s defect they have to also think about the
risks the child can have during surgery. To be put to sleep is always dangerous there is always a
chance the patient may not wake up, although the chance is slim. Anyone who makes the choice of
surgery has to be strong and believe in the doctors and surgeons to operate on their child. Depending

The Real Business Cycle Theory Model
The two main models that draw most attention from the neoclassical period are the Solow model in
the long run and the Real Business cycle incorporated with the Ramsey consumption or Euler equation
in the short run. The Ramsey model in the short makes a more accurate depiction of what
consumption and production in an economy would look like. The model in the short run follows a
Dynamic stochastic general equilibrium; this type of model is more complex and allows for it to show
economic growth in a closed cyclical model. The Ramsey model, which is the The Real Business
Cycle Theory model in the short run, is far superior to the long run Solow model. However, the long
run model by Solow has its benefits because it represents a closed economy producing one good with
constant capital accumulation; yet, it fails to account for technological changes and other shocks that
take place in an economy. This model is used over such a long period that it becomes a very
theoretical generalization. Both these models explain growth in the economy, but the short term Real
business cycle theory is a more accurate representation of economic growth as it depicts a direct
correlation between consumption and production and accounts for economic shocks. These two
models aim to explain how economic growth takes place due to changes in production and
consumption. Economists have constantly tried to explain how growth occurs in an economy. This is
done by the creation of different models and

Argumentative Essay On Nuclear Energy
Nuclear energy has been used since 1895 to create weapons that could destroy men by the millions.
Scientists later transformed this destructive weapon into a new form of usable, renewable energy.
Nuclear energy is energy created by harnessing the energy produced by the nuclear reactions that take
place inside the nucleus of the Uranium Isotope 235, ( Nuclear Energy ). Nuclear energy is one
attempt to decrease the rate at which nonrenewable fossil fuels are being consumed. Some believe
nuclear energy to be an environmentally friendly and self sustaining way to produce energy; however,
there are a countless number of social and economically risks to consider; ultimately, the detrimental
effects power plant leaks and explosions have on the human body, the cost it takes to produce the
plants, and the production of nuclear waste, should be enough to persuade one to turn away from using
nuclear energy as a source of power.
The fear of a nuclear power plants is reasonable, considering there were thirty three accidents between
the 1950 s and early 2000 s, (McInnes, Colin). Multiple incidents jeopardized the health of employees
and near by citizens. Six of these incidents happened in the United States, five in Japan, and three in
the United Kingdom and Russia. Thirty five liters of highly enriched Uranium solution leaked during
transfer, in the United Kingdom; more than 100 workers were exposed to one hundred and fifty

The Land Registration Act 2002
The land registration act 2002 was aimed at implementing the compulsory recording of titles in land,
so as to retain the information in one piece, therefore making interest in land simpler to identify. The
authors took into consideration the fact that the land register was rather fairly accurate, because
despite the mirror principle that the register is a reflection of title, this is not entirely true. In this essay
I will show the extent to which the land register is fairly accurate in its registering of titles. Land
registration was first operated under the Land registration act 1925. This was the first act, which came
into existence before it was repealed and replaced by the LRA 2002.

The act created a scheme for registration of most kinds of entitlement in land.
(To be referenced)The land registration act 2002 in its creation is to ensure that as many interests in
registered land as possible are shown on the register (or, if not on the register, are not binding on
purchasers and to make arrangements that will allow dispositions of registered land to be handled
electronically. The LRA 2002 came into existence and in effect replaced the previous act which was
the LRA 1925. With the LRA 2002 came some modifications, which in effect made registration of
property faster and cheaper. It also ensured immediate recording of transactions and constant updating
of the register so as to avoid the late recording of new owners of land.
Earlier I mentioned different grades of tittle, which would be awarded by the registrar after the
registration of a title. Going into greater coverage of these grades of title, there is absolute freehold.
The absolute freehold is granted a piece of land when the registrar can see that the necessary
information concerning the land is provided. Information about the land can be easily explained to
prospective purchasers. However it has been stated that the registrar does not only have to grant thus
grade of title to only perfect land, but rather is allowed to overlook certain information, therefore
creating a method of prevention, which disallows future purchasers from being disturbed with
technical defects. This is the reason

Love and Friendship
Stopping for a few seconds to admire a flower, an insect, a phenomenon of nature, an architecture,
etc., in days full of worries, have become memorable. Also, all these seconds sent me every time into a
wonderful world, just like Confucius said, Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it . The
short films The Balloon directed by Martynas Zaremba and The Red Balloon directed by Albert
Lamorisse have the plot people s reaction for a few seconds at sight of a black balloon. The Balloon
film submits a series of reactions from various people in the city caused by a simple black balloon
with no intended meaning. The balloon starts to appear above the city one night while people were
sleeping. The Red Balloon , too shows an emotional story of friendship between a boy called Pascal,
and his red balloon. The writer and director Lamorisse succeeds through fiction to combine reality, the
wonder, and the magic of this friendship. In both short films, the main focus is a floating balloon, but I
believe that their differences are more striking than their similarities. Both films The Balloon and The
Red Balloon have a similar high point. In my opinion The Balloon high point is that when the balloon
appears on a street where a bad boy with a knife in his hand is ready to commit an act of violence. The
presence of the balloon in that area stops the bad boy to commit it. Moreover, the bad boy looks his
way to sky to admire the balloon for a few seconds. Likewise, the balloon from Lamorisse s film
avoid an act of violence. For example, a gang of older kids chases Pascal around city, determined to
steal and destroy his balloon. The red balloon performs a miracle, it saves little Pascal from that chase.
It sacrifices itself and lets itself tortured with stones to save Pascal s life. Furthermore, the red balloon
dies for this cause. However, in three distinct ways, The Balloon and The Red Balloon films are
almost opposites. First of all, their score is very different. The Balloon film sound source is the song
with lyrics titled Time to Leave of the band Suicide DJs. The lyrics can provide depth, powerful to the
song, and make the audience to

Public Diplomacy And Nation Branding
Ask anyone what they think of when they hear the word Russia these days and you re likely to elicit
one of two common responses: Did you hear about their doping scandal or did you hear about what
their president said, the latter usually referring to the enigmatic personality that is Vladimir Putin and
a series of nuclear tests that seems to foreshadow World War 3.
Russia has actually been behaving remarkably well in the past few years and appears to be trying to
change the world s perception about the nation, which is why it is so disappointing that they have been
reduced to these two headlines. Sports diplomacy is one of many spheres of public diplomacy and
nation branding that Russia has been investing heavily in. Aimed not only at developing a positive
image of Russia, but also at fostering and developing relationships with post conflict nations, Russia s
public diplomacy is certainly key to their national interests.
Before the aforementioned headlines were released Russia was actually using sports diplomacy in
nation branding incredibly well, be it the winter Olympic Games in 2014, the new Russian Formula 1
Grand Prix, or the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup. These events show a remarkable effort by Russia
to drastically change its international image, with the Sochi Olympic Games being the best example.

The Reader as You
Jamaica Kincaid immerses the reader into her essay A Small Place through the use of second person
point of view, continually referring to the reader as you. She characterizes the reader as a tourist from
a privileged Western nation and narrates the experiences and thoughts of the reader while visiting
Antigua for the first time. By portraying the reader as the tourist through second person narrative,
Kincaid criticizes the ignorance of Eurocentric assumptions, as well as the total superficiality of
Western tourism. Ultimately, this technique allows her to capture her disdain for Eurocentrism,
alienating the reader from Antiguan culture.
In the first sentence of the essay, Kincaid promptly employs second person narrative by addressing the
reader, If you go to Antigua as a tourist, this is what you will see (257). Immediately, Kincaid invites
the reader into the essay, provoking the audience to imagine themselves as tourists. The reader can
relate to the tourist and can identify with the excitement of traveling to a place where the sun always
shines and the climate is deliciously hot and dry for the four to ten days you are going to be staying
there... (257). However, Kincaid then confronts the reader with the problems inherent in this
egocentric way of thinking. She proceeds to call out the reader s ignorance about the climate: since
you are a tourist, the thought of what

Employee Engagement Is Made Up Of Two Words, Employee And...
Employee Engagement
Employee Engagement is made up of two words, Employee and engagement. In simple words, it can
be defined as an engagement or commitment of an employee towards its organization. It is not entirely
clear when the term engagement was first used in relation to work, but generally the Gallup
Organization is credited for coining the term somewhere in the 1990s( Schaufeli, 2013 p.2).
An engaged employee can be easily distinguished from disengaged one by simply asking a question.
Ask an employee, what their company does? An engaged employee will say we provide software
services while a disengaged employee will say, they/Company provides software services. It is evident
from here that an engaged employee is involved completely to achieve the goals of company, hence
will be more efficient and considers himself as a part of the success of company. Various researches
have also shown that engaged employees are much more efficient than disengaged ones, which results
in positives for an organisation.
An engaged employee feels involved in and excited about his work. Engaged employees produce at
high levels individually, and contribute to improved business results. In fact, Gallup research shows
employee engagement can be linked to increased productivity and profitability, along with benefits
such as decreased turnover and absenteeism (Connolly, et al., 2013, p 48 52).An organisation with a
higher number of engaged employees is likely to be more effective, efficient

offers is their use of Croslite material, a revolutionary technology that gives each pair of shoes the

The shoes were an immediate success, and word of mouth quickly expanded their customer base of
people who spent the majority of their day standing, such as doctors and gardeners. Croc s was such a
success that they went ahead with an aggressive worldwide launch campaign, early on in the company

brand out that would be a sustainable brand with this funky looking, strange product. Other, larger
shoe companies, or even larger apparel companies, could have knocked us off, and could have gone

everywhere, almost simultaneously, in order to prevent potential threat, and create brand sustainability.

life; and has drastically contributed in the health sector as well. It s generally agreed that the
development and use of integrated healthcare systems are becoming an absolute necessity to support
the delivery of low cost, high quality care [1]. To achieve this goal; Planning of Information System is
one of the most significant activities for Information System attainment in a large organization. This
paper presents the information systems integration plan for Hospitals operating under the Directorate
of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK). The main objective of the System integration is to specify
techniques to link all databases of different sub systems in DHSK so that the information interchange
between the sub systems is seamless. The plan shall be accomplished by applying the methodology
consisting of four steps: requirement analysis, conceptual design, systems architecture design and
system implementation. As the results of design, the databases shall definitely share many identical
data items. The presence of identical data items will allow the information update in batch processing
and will facilitate to design a common physical layer. Thus, a common XML based database
implementation along with shared assemblies is recommended to implement the databases with
identical data items, whereas, private

Taking a Look at Four-Dimensionalism
Four dimensionalism is often seen in the field of metaphysics as a strong and sound solution to many
puzzles. Whether that s the Antinomy of Constitution, the Ship of Theseus, or the Paradox of Increase,
four dimensionalism always appears as a probable solution. But, four dimensionalism is not the all
powerful solution it appears to be at first glance. The theory itself has many repercussions if it is taken
to be true, leading me to dispute its overall validity. So what exactly is the four dimensional theory?
To begin, we must understand what the dimensions of our world are. We experience the first three
dimensions on a daily basis; namely, length, width, and height. These three dimensions are typically
referred to as the spatial dimensions. The next, fourth, dimension is then considered to be time. We
cannot specifically see time but we know that time is continually moving forward and we are subject
to its progression. Four dimensionalism then exclaims that objects consist of all four dimensions,
splitting objects into spatial and temporal parts. We see the spatial components when we look at an
object but the temporal component is harder to see. Essentially, the four dimensionalist believes that
an object is never wholly present at one instance in time but rather consists of the spatial components
and all of the temporal components. This is seen as the theory of perdurance and is accepted by four
dimensionalists (Lewis). So when we hold an object, say a

When closely evaluating the two texts: Plutarch s The Lives of the Ancient Grecians and Romans and
Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, there are stark differences of the theme and characters. While Plutarch s
text is mostly informative, as describing a series of historical events, Shakespeare incorporates a wide
variety of dramatic conventions as well as changing many events to entertain an audience. It is
important to note that Shakespeare s play was based on Plutarch s text, which is why many of the
differences are because of Shakespeare s revision. Shakespeare changes the tone of many important

tone about Brutus is opposite of Julius Caesar compared to Shakespeare s passionate tone about
Brutus s honor and love for Rome.
Another difference between Plutarch s text and Julius Caesar, other than the tone is the content.
Shakespeare omits many events from his play such as Porcia s proving of herself by self inflicting a

Brutus s troubles. Plutarch describes Antony s great speech at Caesar s funeral, but does not capture
the emotional struggle Antony went through to win the hearts of Roman citizens. Shakespeare
intensely writes of the crowd s reactions to Antony s speech. Most noble Caesar, we ll revenge his
death. (Shakespeare 3.2.236). This shows that Shakespeare is displaying Antony as a heroic and
brilliant defender of Caesar while Plutarch merely states that Antony was not meant to speak at all but
was sent to speak after a day of discussion between the conspirators.
Shakespeare also skips events, which were supposed to take place in

Comparing Wilfred Owen And Jarrell
War Poetry: Analysis
Both Owen and Jarrell share the pains of war. Using literary devices such as diction, imagery, and
inner thoughts. Besides just the basics of literary devices the poets also use their close affiliation of
war to help express the true disasters that not many people knew of. They possessed unusual
sensibility. When digging a little deeper you are fully able to compare Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est
and Jarrell s Death of the Ball Turret Gunner.
At first glance Wilfred Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est is blatantly organized. In fact, it is comprised of
multiple stanzas. But that is Owen s purposeful structure. When delving further into the poem you
truly start to see Owen s intentions. While some poets romanticized war, Wilfred

Assessments For Students With Autism Spectrum Disorders Essay
Assessments for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Autism is a mental disorder, present from early childhood, characterized by difficulty in
communicating and forming relationships with other people and in using language and abstract
concepts. (Classroom Assessment Theory into Practice, 2012) One in 88 children are diagnosed with
autism and the symptoms are usually noticed between the ages of 18 months and 5 years. Typically,
autism affects individuals in 5 key areas: Communication (verbal and non verbal), Social skills,
Behaviors, Learning, and Medical issues. Because this disorder has a dramatic impact on a child s
ability to learn, it is imperative that teachers understand the conditions surrounding autism and know
how to accommodate these students. (Classroom Assessment Theory into Practice, 2012) Teachers can
understand more about a student with ASD and how to accommodate the student by doing different
assessments. Assessments are an extremely important part of special education. Teachers need to make
sure that the assessments given to their students is correct in everyway possible. It should be correct in
what they are testing, meaning what the teacher or specialist want to know from the assessment, is the
information that the assessment is giving the students correct, on how the assessment works, and all
assessments must have validity and reliability. Assessments often include various tests, both
standardized or criterion referenced, but testing is not the only

Ethical Boundaries Misused in Today’s Clinical Psychology...
Ethical Boundaries Misused in Today s Clinical Psychology In today s psychology profession, a
therapist and even the client can cross many boundaries if immediate boundaries are not put into place
during the initial visit. Some boundaries that are crossed are not a problem at first and then the
problem progresses. Leonard L. Glass called these, the gray areas of boundary crossing and violation
(429). However, there is further description, Boundary issues mostly refer to the therapist s self
disclosure, touch, an exchange of gifts, bartering and fees, length and location of sessions and contact
outside the office (Guthiel Gabbard). This statement by Thomas G. Gutheil, M.D. Glen O. Gabbard,

How Therapist Self Disclosure And Non Disclosure Affects Clients , stated that, The study results
suggest that therapist self‐disclosure has both positive and negative treatment implications. It depends
on how therapeutic the self disclosure would benefit the client in that given situation, and the client s
receptiveness to what information is given to them; for example, one patient may respond positively to
a therapist s self disclosure that reveals another safe point of view of an issue, while another patient
might feel that therapist s has over stepped their boundaries. Madill et al. stated that, These were
sometimes attributed to inexperience and sometimes the characteristics of the total situation, such as
events from the therapist s personal life (13). There are times when sharing something from the
therapist can help explain an issue that is present during the time of that therapy appointment. Another
problem with a therapist s self disclosure is that after years of treatment, the therapist can run out of
examples to use to clarify a point made during the appointment. Years and years of treatment
sometimes cover issues where the therapist, will add something about himself or herself. People who
tend to talk for a very long time during therapy can relate on a level that is not crossing the
boundaries. In addition, self disclosure may be a major problem for therapists who live and work in
rural communities, because

Essay about The Cultural Art of Body Art
For a long time now body art and decoration has been a custom in many cultural groups. Through
research we have learned about the different types of body art and ornamentation such as permanent
and nonpermanent tattooing, scarification, and piercings. These forms of body art and ornamentation
are done for a variety of reasons, ranging from identification purposes to religious rituals. Skin, as a
visible way of defining individual identity and cultural difference, is not only a highly elaborated
preoccupation in many cultures; it is also the subject of wide ranging and evolving scholarly discourse
in the humanities and social sciences (Schildkrout, 2004). The process of ornamentation and body art
is usually a painful experience, but it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondarily, they are seen as a symbol of beauty or a derogatory symbol to keep troublesome kids
alive. In his article Orie states that Every Yoruba is born into a patrilineal clan (Orie, 2011). When the
children are born their parents decide when the scarification will take place, this usually happens
between the age of three weeks to three months. The procedure is done by an oloola or akomola which
is a professionally trained specialist. The procedure is said to be performed at dawn to help minimize
the loss of blood, dawn being the coldest part of the day. The patrilineal stripes declare the clan
membership of the children, and ensure that they are not denied the entitlements and rights of the clan
members. There are many differences in the length, depth, spacing, and the placement of the stripes on
the face. It may seem difficult to be able to be able to tell so much information about someone simply
from the stripes on their face, but as Orie explains, for those that can read the traditional stripes, a
brief look at someone s face is enough to identify the town, regional affiliation, or family of that
person (Orie, 2011).
In the Maori culture of New Zealand, tattoos are distinct and unique, not only in their design, but also
their significance. Palmer and Tano explain in their article that there are two methods that are involved
when creating a moko tattoo. There is the method of carving

Why Is Balance Control Important
How Important Is Ankle Proprioception for Balance Control in Sport Performance and Injury
Abstract
Balance control improvement is one of the most important goals in sports and exercise. Better balance
is strongly positively associated with enhanced athletic performance and negatively associated with
lower limb sports injuries. Proprioception plays an essential role in balance control, and ankle
proprioception is arguably the most important. This paper reviews ankle proprioception and explores
possible links with balance control, specifically in a sport context. Central processing of ankle
proprioceptive information, along with other sensory information, enables integration for balance
control. Care must be taken when assessing ankle proprioception to ensure that the method used has
ecologically valid and allows proprioceptive signals to be integrated in the central nervous system and
reflects the signal noise nature of central processing. Ankle proprioceptive intervention concepts
driven by the central processing theory are further proposed and discussed for the improvement of
balance control in sport.

The relationship between poor balance control and heightened injury risk was identified 30 years ago.
In 1984 Tropp et al. (17) found ankle injuries were almost 4 times more prevalent in soccer player
with poor balance comparison to those with normal balance ability. Similarly, Watson (18) found
hurdling athletes and Gaelic football plays with poor balance had nearly twice as many ankle injuries
relative to their counterparts with normal balance. In addition, balance ability was found to be
significantly associated with ankle injury risk in both younger male and female basketball players
(19). A recent systematic review summarized the available evidence and suggested that poorer balance
ability is an intrinsic factor associated with increased ankle injury risk

The Eiffel Tower by Henri Rousseau was painted in 1898. The painting is a nice scene with a river in
the middle which has a light current. There are brown boats that are also in the water with fishermen
on the side of the wall fishing. To be exact, there are five people fishing, one on the left and four on
the right. On the sides of the river are green trees with piles of sand or rock next to them. On the right
side behind the trees are many houses that are in line with each other. The river also has a well lit

changes in the manner of trading. The need for something intrinsically useful and easily applicable in
everyday dealing is clearly felt. Cash in the form of currency notes and coins makes up just one form
of the payment system. Development in banking while also giving inputs to the further development
of cash brought about a second phase in payment namely paper instructions such as cheques and credit

English is not her first language, but she is extremely grateful going to college in America and having her childhood dream come true. After all, her green card is still in process and she is unable to get a job or get any kind of funds to help her with her education. She has to pay for all her expenses out of her pocket, which is very difficult, given her current financial situation. Fortunately, Tyler Junior college offers an installment tuition fees, which helps students like Traci to go to college. She depends on the library for the reserve textbooks without having to buy her own. During the first week of the school, two professors had given her assignments to read a chapter before she came to the next class. That day, she had a couple of hours before she headed out to volunteer work that she signed up for at church, so she decided to go to the library after class and finish the assignments. She went to the front desk at the library, and asked for the two reserved textbooks. The person behind the desk, informed Traci, that students are allowed to check out one book at a time. Fair enough she thought, and she checked out a text book, found an empty table, sat down, and opened up the chapter that she wanted to read. Guess what? Her jaw dropped, because that chapter had 32 pages. It may not be a lot for many students, but knowing that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The pastor continued to drone on about her father. What a good man he was, and what a great loss it was to their community. She smiled bitterly. Not many people had actually liked him. One could only describe her father as guarded. She pulled the sleeves on her sweater back over her wrists and tried to tune in for a bit. Other than her and Aaron the watch had been one of his only focuses. It wasn t really the watch just what it said. Time. He micromanaged everything he could. Timed everything and normally kept to a strict schedule. The talking stopped and Talia looked up. Everything was silent and no one had stuck around longer than they had to. • 4. Traditional Garments of Ancient Civilizations Still Worn... Asia Saree / Sari The sari (or saree ) is a cloth with a length ranging from five to more than nine yards that is tied and folded loosely around a woman s body to create it in a form of a dress. The sari is weaved primarily made from cotton threads, but other variations, such as linen and silk and recently, polyester, have also been used to create the fabric needed for this popular dress among the Indians (Kamat, 2012). The sari is reported to be 5,000 years old, originating from the Indus Valley civilization, dated between 2800 1800 B. C. It is said to have evolved from the word Sattika or Sadi (Prakrit), which simply means, strip of cloth. Further, tracing the history of the sari, it was construed that the sari actually originated from the male dress dhoti, which is the male counterpart for the sari. From the sari, an idea for a women s dress developed, and throughout the centuries, this dress became more elaborate and developed, eventually becoming to what is known as sari today (Kumar, 2001). One of the unique characteristics of the sari (and dhoti) is that these dresses are unstitched. Apparently and reportedly, there is a certain sacredness to the fact that the sari is not a stitched garment (Kumar, 2001). While the sari is currently used as a functional and aesthetic dress, it initially served as a functional dress: the cotton material used for the sari and its initial use as worn only around the waist and over the shoulder (reportedly women use the sari ... The defendant s argument in the subsequent appeals was that they had been denied their right to due process because they were not allowed to confer with their attorney. In the case argued before the Supreme Court, it was held that due process of law had not been adhered to. This was as a result of the incapability of the defendants to employ counsel and also because of their incapability to undertake their own defense. The court held that it was the obligation of the trial court whether it had been requested or not, to undertake the assignment of counsel as a critical pre condition to the fulfillment of due process of law (Calhoun, 1988). There was a testimony by the two white girls that were also aboard the freight train that they had been raped by the six African American youths in turns. The six youths were taken into custody by the law enforcement agencies of Alabama. They were met with great hostility by the Alabama community. The judge in the case appointed all members of the bar to facilitate arraignment of the accused. The federal Supreme Court reviewed the judgments on the basis that the defendants were denied the due process of the law by failure by the previous courts to exercise fairness, impartiality and purpose in the trial process (Horne, 1997). This contravened the guarantees of the Fourteenth Amendment. The Supreme Court also observed that the defendants were not afforded the right of counsel including periods of consultation and the opportunity for effective preparation of their trial. The trial for Powell v. Alabama was commenced and adjudged in one day. Discussion In the deliberations of Powell v. Alabama, none of the white boys who were alleged to have been assaulted by the African American youths were called to give their testimony. Strong Interest Inventory Of A Career Assessment Strong Interest Inventory Evaluation The Strong Interest Inventory is a career assessment that began as the Strong Campbell Interest Inventory in 1927 and was developed by E.K. Strong Jr. (Blackwell Case, 2008). It was created from the observations that were made of the interests of workers in varying careers (Yazak, 2014). • 21. Dangers Of Driving And Driving Essay Legal Driving Age Controversy Here s a scenario: seventeen year old Ashley has mandatory play practice at her high school tonight. Because her mom and dad are at work, she doesn t have anyone to take her. Usually, in an event like this, she would be able to drive herself to school. Except, the state has just released a law ensuring that anyone under the age of eighteen cannot operate a car. The state legislature should not raise the legal driving age to eighteen because it gives teenagers the independence they have been longing for, parents will no longer have to chauffeur their children around, along with the teens running errands and performing tasks for their parents, and car ownership and driving teaches teenagers the values of trustworthiness and responsibility. The ownership of a motor vehicle and the ability to drive provides teenagers with a sense of independence that they desire. As the teenagers grow up, they will inevitably have to live their own life at some time, and driving and car ownership is the introduction to this. Teenagers need the feeling that they are growing up, and don t need to rely on their parents as much as they once did. In the article, Reasons That Teenagers Should Be Able to Drive , it states, Driving is an important milestone that allows teenagers to transition from childhood into adulthood independently. Having access to a driver s license means that your child can get from point A to point B alone and this is of major importance to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Collectivism, like individualism, has two extremes ranging from willing cooperation at one end to a grudging acceptance at the other (Farnham D, 1993, p36 7) It is important to understand that no company is strictly individualist or collectivist and the links between the two employee relations are not incompatible with each other. Overall, BA has the collectivist approach because large emphasis is on the group. One such example is the nurturing of cabin crew. Families of staff are created to work the same shift patterns. This was pursued to encourage mutual support, make cabin crew feel comfortable about their working environment, and as a result, facilitate the production of emotional labour (I Grugulis and A Wilkinson, 2001, p13). #61656; Unitary or pluralist management styles? As for a particular type of Management style in practice, this is difficult to say, as there is overlap between the two main categories; unitary and the pluralist. BA has some of the characteristics of the unitary approach in the sense that the different departments consist of teams of people working together towards common aims and there s a presence of strong leadership to create loyalty. • 25. The Real Business Cycle Theory Model The two main models that draw most attention from the neoclassical period are the Solow model in the long run and the Real Business cycle incorporated with the Ramsey consumption or Euler equation in the short run. The Ramsey model in the short makes a more accurate depiction of what consumption and production in an economy would look like. The model in the short run follows a Dynamic stochastic general equilibrium; this type of model is more complex and allows for it to show economic growth in a closed cyclical model. The Ramsey model, which is the The Real Business Cycle Theory model in the short run, is far superior to the long run Solow model. However, the long run model by Solow has its benefits because it represents a closed economy producing one good with constant capital accumulation; yet, it fails to account for technological changes and other shocks that take place in an economy. This model is used over such a long period that it becomes a very theoretical generalization. Both these models explain growth in the economy, but the short term Real business cycle theory is a more accurate representation of economic growth as it depicts a direct correlation between consumption and production and accounts for economic shocks. These two models aim to explain how economic growth takes place due to changes in production and consumption. Economists have constantly tried to explain how growth occurs in an economy. Nuclear energy is one attempt to decrease the rate at which nonrenewable fossil fuels are being consumed. The fear of a nuclear power plants is reasonable, considering there were thirty three accidents between the 1950 s and early 2000 s, (McInnes, Colin). The Land Registration Act 2002 The land registration act 2002 was aimed at implementing the compulsory recording of titles in land, so as to retain the information in one piece, therefore making interest in land simpler to identify. The authors took into consideration the fact that the land register was rather fairly accurate, because despite the mirror principle that the register is a reflection of title, this is not entirely true. In this essay I will show the extent to which the land register is fairly accurate in its registering of titles. Land registration was first operated under the Land registration act 1925. This was the first act, which came into existence before it was repealed and replaced by the LRA 2002. After registration of title to land, the registrar ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (To be referenced)The land registration act 2002 in its creation is to ensure that as many interests in registered land as possible are shown on the register (or, if not on the register, are not binding on purchasers and to make arrangements that will allow dispositions of registered land to be handled electronically. The LRA 2002 came into existence and in effect replaced the previous act which was the LRA 1925. With the LRA 2002 came some modifications, which in effect made registration of property faster and cheaper. It also ensured immediate recording of transactions and constant updating of the register so as to avoid the late recording of new owners of land. Earlier I mentioned different grades of tittle, which would be awarded by the registrar after the registration of a title. Going into greater coverage of these grades of title, there is absolute freehold. The absolute freehold is granted a piece of land when the registrar can see that the necessary information concerning the land is provided. Information about the land can be easily explained to prospective purchasers. However it has been stated that the registrar does not only have to grant thus grade of title to only perfect land, but rather is allowed to overlook certain information, therefore creating a method of prevention, which disallows future purchasers from being disturbed with technical defects. Similarities Between The Balloon And The Red Balloon GEORGETA HARPAD ESL 101 JOBST Love and Friendship Stopping for a few seconds to admire a flower, an insect, a phenomenon of nature, an architecture, etc., in days full of worries, have become memorable. Also, all these seconds sent me every time into a wonderful world, just like Confucius said, Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it . The short films The Balloon directed by Martynas Zaremba and The Red Balloon directed by Albert Lamorisse have the plot people s reaction for a few seconds at sight of a black balloon. The Balloon film submits a series of reactions from various people in the city caused by a simple black balloon with no intended meaning. The balloon starts to appear above the city one night while people were sleeping. The Red Balloon , too shows an emotional story of friendship between a boy called Pascal, and his red balloon. The writer and director Lamorisse succeeds through fiction to combine reality, the wonder, and the magic of this friendship. In both short films, the main focus is a floating balloon, but I believe that their differences are more striking than their similarities. Both films The Balloon and The Red Balloon have a similar high point. In my opinion The Balloon high point is that when the balloon appears on a street where a bad boy with a knife in his hand is ready to commit an act of violence. The presence of the balloon in that area stops the bad boy to commit it. Moreover, the bad boy looks his way to sky to admire the balloon for a few seconds. Likewise, the balloon from Lamorisse s film avoid an act of violence. For example, a gang of older kids chases Pascal around city, determined to steal and destroy his balloon. The red balloon performs a miracle, it saves little Pascal from that chase. It sacrifices itself and lets itself tortured with stones to save Pascal s life. Furthermore, the red balloon dies for this cause. However, in three distinct ways, The Balloon and The Red Balloon films are almost opposites. First of all, their score is very different. The Balloon film sound source is the song with lyrics titled Time to Leave of the band Suicide DJs. The lyrics can provide depth, powerful to the song, and make the audience to ... She characterizes the reader as a tourist from a privileged Western nation and narrates the experiences and thoughts of the reader while visiting Antigua for the first time. By portraying the reader as the tourist through second person narrative, Kincaid criticizes the ignorance of Eurocentric assumptions, as well as the total superficiality of Western tourism. Ultimately, this technique allows her to capture her disdain for Eurocentrism, alienating the reader from Antiguan culture. In the first sentence of the essay, Kincaid promptly employs second person narrative by addressing the reader, If you go to Antigua as a tourist, this is what you will see (257). Immediately, Kincaid invites the reader into the essay, provoking the audience to imagine themselves as tourists. The reader can relate to the tourist and can identify with the excitement of traveling to a place where the sun always shines and the climate is deliciously hot and dry for the four to ten days you are going to be staying there... In simple words, it can be defined as an engagement or commitment of an employee towards its organization. It is not entirely clear when the term engagement was first used in relation to work, but generally the Gallup Organization is credited for coining the term somewhere in the 1990s( Schaufeli, 2013 p.2). An engaged employee can be easily distinguished from disengaged one by simply asking a question. Ask an employee, what their company does? An engaged employee will say we provide software services while a disengaged employee will say, they/Company provides software services. It is evident from here that an engaged employee is involved completely to achieve the goals of company, hence will be more efficient and considers himself as a part of the success of company. Various researches have also shown that engaged employees are much more efficient than disengaged ones, which results in positives for an organisation. An engaged employee feels involved in and excited about his work. Engaged employees produce at high levels individually, and contribute to improved business results. In fact, Gallup research shows employee engagement can be linked to increased productivity and profitability, along with benefits such as decreased turnover and absenteeism (Connolly, et al., 2013, p 48 52).An organisation with a higher number of engaged employees is likely to be more effective, efficient ... Whether that s the Antinomy of Constitution, the Ship of Theseus, or the Paradox of Increase, four dimensionalism always appears as a probable solution. But, four dimensionalism is not the all powerful solution it appears to be at first glance. The theory itself has many repercussions if it is taken to be true, leading me to dispute its overall validity. So what exactly is the four dimensional theory? To begin, we must understand what the dimensions of our world are. We experience the first three dimensions on a daily basis; namely, length, width, and height. These three dimensions are typically referred to as the spatial dimensions. The next, fourth, dimension is then considered to be time. We cannot specifically see time but we know that time is continually moving forward and we are subject to its progression. Four dimensionalism then exclaims that objects consist of all four dimensions, splitting objects into spatial and temporal parts. We see the spatial components when we look at an object but the temporal component is harder to see. Essentially, the four dimensionalist believes that an object is never wholly present at one instance in time but rather consists of the spatial components and all of the temporal components. This is seen as the theory of perdurance and is accepted by four dimensionalists (Lewis). So when we hold an object, say a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Overall, Plutarch s tone about Brutus is opposite of Julius Caesar compared to Shakespeare s passionate tone about Brutus s honor and love for Rome. Ethical Boundaries Misused in Today s Clinical Psychology In today s psychology profession, a therapist and even the client can cross many boundaries if immediate boundaries are not put into place during the initial visit. Some boundaries that are crossed are not a problem at first and then the problem progresses. Leonard L. Glass called these, the gray areas of boundary crossing and violation (429). However, there is further description, Boundary issues mostly refer to the therapist s self disclosure, touch, an exchange of gifts, bartering and fees, length and location of sessions and contact outside the office (Guthiel Gabbard). How Therapist Self Disclosure And Non Disclosure Affects Clients , stated that, The study results suggest that therapist self‐disclosure has both positive and negative treatment implications. It depends on how therapeutic the self disclosure would benefit the client in that given situation, and the client s receptiveness to what information is given to them; for example, one patient may respond positively to a therapist s self disclosure that reveals another safe point of view of an issue, while another patient might feel that therapist s has over stepped their boundaries. Madill et al. stated that, These were sometimes attributed to inexperience and sometimes the characteristics of the total situation, such as events from the therapist s personal life (13). There are times when sharing something from the therapist can help explain an issue that is present during the time of that therapy appointment. Another problem with a therapist s self disclosure is that after years of treatment, the therapist can run out of examples to use to clarify a point made during the appointment. Years and years of treatment sometimes cover issues where the therapist, will add something about himself or herself. People who tend to talk for a very long time during therapy can relate on a level that is not crossing the boundaries. In addition, self disclosure may be a major problem for therapists who live and work in rural communities, because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Essay about The Cultural Art of Body Art For a long time now body art and decoration has been a custom in many cultural groups. Through research we have learned about the different types of body art and ornamentation such as permanent and nonpermanent tattooing, scarification, and piercings. These forms of body art and ornamentation are done for a variety of reasons, ranging from identification purposes to religious rituals. Skin, as a visible way of defining individual identity and cultural difference, is not only a highly elaborated preoccupation in many cultures; it is also the subject of wide ranging and evolving scholarly discourse in the humanities and social sciences (Schildkrout, 2004). There are many differences in the length, depth, spacing, and the placement of the stripes on the face. It may seem difficult to be able to be able to tell so much information about someone simply from the stripes on their face, but as Orie explains, for those that can read the traditional stripes, a brief look at someone s face is enough to identify the town, regional affiliation, or family of that person (Orie, 2011). • 46. Why Is Balance Control Important How Important Is Ankle Proprioception for Balance Control in Sport Performance and Injury Abstract Balance control improvement is one of the most important goals in sports and exercise. Better balance is strongly positively associated with enhanced athletic performance and negatively associated with lower limb sports injuries. Proprioception plays an essential role in balance control, and ankle proprioception is arguably the most important. This paper reviews ankle proprioception and explores possible links with balance control, specifically in a sport context. Central processing of ankle proprioceptive information, along with other sensory information, enables integration for balance control. Care must be taken when assessing ankle proprioception to ensure that the method used has ecologically valid and allows proprioceptive signals to be integrated in the central nervous system and reflects the signal noise nature of central processing. Ankle proprioceptive intervention concepts driven by the central processing theory are further proposed and discussed for the improvement of balance control in sport. Introduction ... In addition, balance ability was found to be significantly associated with ankle injury risk in both younger male and female basketball players (19). A recent systematic review summarized the available evidence and suggested that poorer balance ability is an intrinsic factor associated with increased ankle injury risk ...
