wo opposites, fire and water, are both needed to sustain human life. Even with their differences, they
also share some similarities, much like East Asia and the Middle East. In the 1900 s, East Asia was not
facing active colonization, resulting in it being more peaceful than other surrounding regions one of
those regions being the Middle East, which had to deal with religious and ethnic tension, in turn, being
reflected in their writing. Compared to the Middle East, East Asian literature conveys a more
optimistic tone due to less intense oppression as opposed to that of which Middle Easterners
underwent, but still touches on some similarities common with the Middle East. The Middle East and
East Asia both use the themes of unification, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The story The Grasshopper and the Bell Cricket helps show how both regions had an appreciation for
everything, be it big or small. Most of the lanterns were beautiful square ones which the children had
made themselves with love and care (159). This shows that even though they lacked many things, they
still appreciated what they had, even if it was small. The Middle Eastern poem Identity Card also
shows this theme. My house... made of sticks and reeds (80) shows the small amount that the
Palestinians in the Middle East had and how they were able to appreciate it before it was all taken
away from them. The East Asian poem One Step shows the theme of admiration as well, however this
time it is the appreciation of time. The child has learned to talk to walls... dotage, only one step away.
(146) shows the passing of time and how, in a blink of an eye, a child would have experienced their
whole life and become feeble and old. This shows the acceptance of the East Asian people that life is
quick and their appreciation towards what they already had. Both East Asia and the Middle East used
first person point of view as well, although each having a different reasoning for doing

Religious and Spiritual Practices of Enslaved African...
The Community of Enslaved Africans and their Religious Spiritual Practices.
During a most dark and dismal time in our nations history, we find that the Africans who endured
horrible circumstances during slavery, found ways of peace and hope in their religious beliefs. During
slavery, Africans where able to survive unbearable conditions by focusing on their spirituality.
Christianity was amongst the slave community. Being that the vast majority of the slave community
was born in America, converting slaves to Christianity was not a struggle. All slaves were not
Christian, and slaves that had accepted Christianity were not official members of the church. Over
time Slaves made Christianity their own. There would be occurrences where ... Show more content on

There was no freedom of free worship. Slaves were often punished for this type of behavior; their
masters would fear that they were praying against them. Prayer, song, close communities, and feeling
the spirit would refresh the slaves in times of distress. Freedom was usually the topic of prayer and it
was all slaves had. They had great faith in the lord and believed that their true home was heaven.
Some masters were known to enjoy the singing, praying and preaching of their slaves. Many slaves
were baptized and taught to pray certain prayers by their masters, but were rarely truly educated on the
true definition of Christianity. Most slaves held on to their African religious practices, this in return
formed many hybrid religions. Voodoo would be one, this religion originated in the island of St.
Dominquez. Voodoo was a combination of Catholicism with various West African traditions. There
were 3 tiers in spiritual hierarchy. There was one supreme deity several ancestral gods, and many
minor spirits. There was also a strong emphasis on magic. Africans were very spiritual people. Negro
spirituals were an important factor to enduring slavery. Slaves enjoyed Negro spirituals as a way of
enduring hard times and as a form of praise to god despite their situation. It was a form of release and
peace to sing and dance amongst each other within their community. During slavery and afterwards,
workers were allowed to sing songs during their working time. This

Biography Of De Palma Terrance And It Was A Facility That...
Introduction/Purpose The facility I visited was called De Palma Terrance and it was located in
Placentia, California. De Palma Terrance is a facility that has been providing senior care for seniors
for over 25 years in Orange County. De Palma Terrance does offer senior living within the complex
for those who desire it, but it is also a senior center where seniors around the community can freely
visit and attend health classes. The class I attended is called Health/Wellness Trivia and is part of the

The class consisted of mainly strength training, long periods of stretching and short cardio. It was
essential that the activities was mainly concentrated on increasing leg strength and improving balance.
Strengthen the bones will help build bone thickness and help lessen the danger of breaks/fractures.
Balance, coordination and mobility will help older adults from falling. Older adults are at high risk of
falling and this can cause serious injuries such as hip fractures, head traumas and even death. The
class also helped older adults educate themselves on preventive strategies from falling as well.
Major Health Components Covered In Class The two major health components covered in this class
was physical health and social health. Physical health refers to the way that the body function. This
definitely consist of regular exercise. Since the class was mainly consisted of strength training
exercises, it gave older adults strength and energy. This can play a major role in preventing some
illnesses. Social health is the quality of one s relationship with his/her friends and family. I feel like
the instructor was also trying to get older adults to work together during the exercises. I saw older
adults helping each other out when it came to stretching. This would be a good class for older adults to
attend if they wanted to meet new people. The

Persuasive Essay On Dolphins
The Interesting Dolphin
Many people know those cute, funny, intelligent animals that are known as dolphins, right?
There are so many interesting things about them. Dolphins have been around for about 15 million
years now. They re extremely intelligent, probably even more intelligent than us humans. Dolphins are
becoming endangered because of humans and many don t know that. They are known as the oceans
most kind animals.Dolphins have originated millions of years ago,are extremely endangered, and are
becoming endangered. The most important thing to know about dolphins would probably be how they
originated because without that those cute aquatic mammals wouldn t even exist. Dolphins have been
around a lot longer than humans. They originated about 50 million years ago. The most common
dolphin, being the bottlenose dolphin, has been around for 15 million years. Surprisingly, dolphins
originated from members of the cetaceans group. Cetaceans used to be land mammals but evolved into
being aquatic mammals. In From Land to Water it stated, The transition from land to water is
documented by a series of intermediate fossils from India and Pakistan. This research helps prove how
they used to be land mammals but evolved to live in the ocean. Dolphins are one out of many aquatic
mammals who need oxygen, but they need water in order to live. Believe it or not, dolphins are
somewhat related to hippos, camels, deer, cattle, and giraffes. In From Land to Water, Many features

Abstract
Transparent conductive films of fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) electrospun on glass substrate were
prepared. These transparent conductive films were prepared at a substrate temperature in the range
350 550 οC. A solution of SnCl2.2H2O in methanol and glacial acetic acid was used as a precursor.
Hydrofluoric acid was added to the precursor solution as a dopant. The films were prepared in one
single step and no further treatment is required. The distance between the spray nozzle and the
substrate was in the range 2 10 cm, the liquid flow rate was in the range 10 50 ml/h, the duration of
electrospinning was in the range 5 50 min and 15 20 kV electrical potential was applied. The prepared
films were characterized by means of XRD, SEM, FTIR and UV VIS spectroscopy. The resistivity
measurements were measured by the four point probe technique. It was found that the films are
transparent in the UV Visible region and was about 70% and high reflective in the infra red region
(99%). XRD pattern indicates that the films exhibit a preferred orientation (110) with grain size about
16 nm. By comparing these results with that obtained by

Rollover 5: Year 2015
Review of Previous Year s Results (2014)
From the industry benchmark report for 2014, (appendix) between the year 2013 and 2014 our share
value increased from 15.80 to 27.04 placing us ahead of everyone in our world. That is an increase of
172%. From out firm reports (appendix), our net income of 2,764,446 unfortunately fell short of our
profit forecast. of 3,501,014. Even though our share holder s value was the highest amongst our
competitors, our profit before taxes was second to Bikes R Us by a total of $450,000. They had a
profit of 4,339,987 while we only had a profit of 3,949,209. A part of the reason why our net income
didn t meet our forecasts and profit before taxes fell short of Bikes R Us is due to ... Show more

Our reasoning for such a significant increase was to give us the ability to have a lower volume of
supplies, leaving more capacity for the new bike. Since we do not want high volume of sales for the
mountain bike, we decided to eliminate all advertising and public relationship expenses for the
mountain bikes.
For the youth bike we decided to keep the advertising expenditure at 2 million in order to raise the
awareness of this new product line. This also helps establish a good market share in case competitors
also decide to launch the youth bike. Since we have a low capacity for the bike, we also decided to
increase the price from $370 to $400, resulting in an increase in gross margin. With this increase, we
are still producing at a high yet relatively low volume.
Operations Decisions
We decided to decrease the price of mountain bike production from $134 per bike to $108. The
difference of $26 for 11,000 units results in a saving of almost $300,000. In the meanwhile, we also
decided to dump our finish goods inventory, incurring a loss of $175,000. We decided to increase our
capacity from 20,000 to 27,500 and efficiency from 1,000,000 to 2,000,000. We want to avoid
increasing capacity significantly in order to avoid low efficiency. At the same time we want to keep
our wastage at a minimum. We reduced our retail margin for the bike and sports store to 20% while
reducing the discount stores to 27%. These new retail margins

Three Properties Associated With God In Western Religion
1. Theology is the study of the nature of God and religious belief. Using reason, religious texts,
history, revelation, and science as evidence. Philosophy of Religion grounds human knowledge and
synthesizes.
2. The questions Philosophy of Religion deals with are: Existence of God, what is Religion? Faith vs.
Reason, Faith vs. Reason, are there any rational reasons to believe? the Problem of Evil,
Characteristics of Religion, and Problem with the Attributes of deity.
3. Misconceptions think that religion has to do with God and God is Supernatural Beings, greater
reality or spiritual dimension. None of that is necessary because there are some religions who think
without those elements.

The Theodicies of Augustine believed that humans are free but fallen because humanity started
disobedience in the Garden of Eden and mankind is to blame for evil. Iraneus viewed this with a
teleological and developmental view that God is making a soul. He believed that evil has a purpose
and thinks that evil mean end if evil didn t exist, spiritual development wouldn t be created so God
made evil and the purpose was to have evidence if God is all good. John Hick argument is that the
relationship between humankind and God is a parent/ child relationship because parents birth child,
teach their child the difference between good and bad. They much learn how to live a good life as God

Descriptive Power Of Nature
Deep in the mountains in the southwest corner of North Carolina is a river unlike any other. Halfway
through my perilous rafting journey, there was a moment when time stood still. I witnessed a natural
phenomenon which displayed the beauty of nature at its finest. During that moment, I realized the
insignificance of humanity, and why we should respect the overwhelming power of nature. The
Nantahala is a whitewater river nestled in a valley with steep mountains flanking it on all sides. The
forest it was situated in is the only temperate rain forest east of the Mississippi River. The rafting
Industry has adopted this river as its premier destination. I was a 14 year old Boy Scout on a three day
camping trip in the Nantahala Gorge. The weather was cloudy with periodic rain showers throughout
the day and night. The temperature was at the mid 80 s but never got above the 90 s. I was in a bright
yellow raft shared amongst five of my companions and a rafting Guide who went by the name Bones.
Bones was a Caucasian man with dreads in his hair, tattoos of paddles shaped as a pirates cross on
both of his arms, and was massively strong. We floated down the river like leaves down a stream;
constantly fighting to stay upright and not be cast overboard by the restless aggression of the rapids.
We were part of the way through a two hour journey down the Nantahala river. It had rained
continuously throughout the trip, which meant we were soaked to the bone and fighting hypothermia.

What Role Does The Sphinx Play In Oedipus Rex

Spring 2015
Research Paper
Oedipus the King Greek Drama played an important civic role in ancient Greece. This is evident in the
tragic drama, Oedipus the King by Sophocles. The people of ancient Greece religiously believed in
prophecies and the fact that the Gods controlled their destiny. If something were to be wrong with
their lands then they would think that it was because something angered the gods, and in return would
try to sacrifice animals in an attempt to make the Gods happy. These are some of the key points on
which the play, Oedipus the King is based on. In order to not see the prophecy fulfill, Queen Jocasta
and King Laius try to have their son killed. A lot of this play is based around asking ... Show more

Sons attracted to their mothers and daughters attracted to their fathers. Sigmund Freud is known to
have the Oedipal Complex based on this play. However, there isn t much concrete evidence as to that
fact the Oedipus is attracted to Jocasta as his mother. First of all we don t get to see much of the
romantic side of their relation in this play so it is hard to say that there are any demonstrations of
Oedipal Complex in this play. Secondly Oedipus didn t know that Jocasta was his mother until the
very end. One might say that Oedipus might have originally agreed to married Jocassta because he
found her unconsciously attracted because of that fact that she was his biological mother. However,
her mother abandoned Oedipus at such a young age that he literally had no memory of Jocasta. Hence,
it is hard to believe that Oedipus unconsciously finds Jocasta attractive, not because she is attractive,
but because she is her

Inequality Discrimination On The Workplace
Nowadays, with increasing variety in organizations, several inequalities in the workplace have
happened. In spite of the regulation policies which have limited inequalities on the workplace, it still
exists, because of personal characteristics, such as gender, age and different race (Allan, C Mcphail, R
Wilkinson, A 2008, p. 225). Inequality in the workplaces can be defined as the unfair discrimination
relating to things, such as wage differentials between men and women, unfair practices and unfairness
opportunities, particularly with regard to employment of people of different ethnic origins (Grainge,
2007, online). C2E TODAY (Committed 2 Equality) shows that in spite of large UK companies
declaring that they have eliminated inequalities in the workplace around 77 per cent of them have little
or no equality practices. Even though small companies situation is more serious, 97.5 per cent of them
have no equality practices in place (Committed 2 Equality, 2008, online). This paper will analyze
several inequalities exist on the workplace with the use of real facts for concentrating on gender, age
and race, and demonstrate the role of the participants within employments relations by discussing the
responses from the state, employers and unions.

Buprenorphine and methadone, both being opioids, activate the opioid (mu) receptors on nerve cells.
And both drugs have long half life s, meaning that they re long acting medications (Reuter, Nicholas,
and Reckitt Benckiser). The chief difference between the two detoxifiers is the idea of a partial agonist
versus a full agonist; methadone and heroin are full agonist where as buprenorphine is only a partial
agonist (Reuter, Nicholas, and Reckitt Benckiser). Methadone, as a full mu opioid agonist, continues
to produce effects on the receptors until either all receptors are fully activated, or the maximum effect
is reached (Reuter, Nicholas, and Reckitt Benckiser). Whereas buprenorphine is a derivative of
thebaine, an extract of opium. The drug is an opioid partial agonist and thus can produce euphoria,
analgesia, and sedation associated with opiates (US Department of Justice). Essentially methadone has
been proven to be more dangerous and addictive than buprenorphine, but buprenorphine has also been
proven to create dependency and death. It is by their actions on opioid receptors that opioids achieve
their analgesic (pain killing) as well as their addictive effects (Reuter, Nicholas, and Reckitt
Benckiser). In layman s terms the partial agonist of buprenorphine and the full agonist of methadone
determine the effects and side effects of the drug, buprenorphine is deemed milder than methadone

Colonialism In Teresia
What is colonialism? Colonialism is occupying one s land with or without the permission of the
natives of the land and later on occupying it with settlers and utilizing it economically.
Colonialism began in 1500s by European nations such as France, Portugal, England, and Spain.
European nations began to colonize through Americas, India, Middle East, and South East Asia.
Part of the logic behind colonialism was to modernize the colonized countries. Various
European nations had also control over the south pacific islands. The first Oceania colonies were
Australia and New Zealand. Soon after, French seized French Polynesia and New Caledonia.
Writers such Kathy Jetnil Kijiner, Teresia Teaiwa, and Dina El Dessouky have spoken about the harsh
reality of colonialism in south pacific. Kathy Jentil Kijiner is a Marshall Islander poet and spoken

European Refugee Crisis Essay
The European refugee crisis began in 2015, when a rising number of refugees and migrants made the
journey to the European Union (EU) to seek asylum. Refugees are people who have been forced to
leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster. According to the data that
was shown in Business Standard and also confirmed by BBC News, the top ten nations which account
for 90% of the sea arrivals in 2015 were: Syria (49%), Afghanistan (21%), Iraq (8%), Eritrea (4%),
Pakistan, Nigeria and Somalia (2 %), Sudan, Gambia and Mali (1%). Also the United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees confirms that the top three nationalities of refugees are Syrian, Afghan
and Iraqi. Of the refugees and migrants arriving in Europe by sea in 2015, 58% were men, 17%
women and 25% children. (Wright, 2015). According to Eurostat, EU member states received over 1.2
million first time asylum applications in 2015, 4 countries (Germany, Hungary, Sweden, and Austria)
received around two thirds, while Latvia received a very small part of them.
Latvia did not have any experience receiving or integrating refugees from other parts of the world
before refugee s crisis in Europe. At this moment, in Latvia the number of refugees is 776.

Junot Diaz s The Money
Junot Diaz is a professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is very widely known for this
writing and his background story. In Junot Diaz s story, The Money: Starting Out, he shares a story
from his childhood. The story is about when Diaz and his family had just recently moved to New
Jersey from Santo Domingo and they felt as if they were targeted. The neighborhood that they were
living in was not the top of the line, lots of robberies were taking place. The Diazs themselves are a
victim of robbery, but in the end, everything turns out to be good. Throughout Diaz s story the reader
can better understand and sympathize with this family because of the many uses of pathos and ethos in
the passage.
The context of this story ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Diaz informed us by providing some background of this childhood. He also explains to us that robbery
happens all the time, In our neighborhood, cars and apartments were always getting jacked, and the
kid stupid enough to leave a bike unattended for more than a tenth of a second was the kid who was
never going to see that bike again (Diaz 385). Thankfully many families do not have to think about
their personal items being stolen, but that does not mean that other families are always completely
safe.
It seemed as if the Diaz s were never safe. The stories focus is about a time that one of his best friends
stole his money, even though he thought he never would. His friend knew how bad his family was
struggling and he still stole from him. In the end Diaz regained his money and belongings, but this just
showed how much of a real friend he was. This family was already struggling and now they are hit
with a burden of theft. This just goes to show that anything can happen, but the outcome depends on
how people handle it.
The purpose of this story is to show that your childhood does not define your whole life. Diaz
obviously had a rough childhood at times. Especially moving into the United States from the
Dominican. His family did not have many funds, to give him all the things he needed. This did not
stop him from succeeding on his own though. Diaz went on to graduate high school, something that

US Migration Essay
Migration, as said by Russell King, author of Atlas of Human Migration, is the history of the world.
U.S. migration is a highly discussed subject as nearly all of its population is connected to different
cultures and countries. Migration occurred as a result of push and pull factors circumstances that
prompted people to leave home and drew them to new societies (Concepts). People from all over the
world have mostly immigrated and migrated within the U.S. for a major reason economic necessity.
Domestic American population has moved across regions over the past three centuries due to this
shared economic need. This need was either a matter of their personal choice both abroad and within
the U.S., or the state s choice for someone to migrate. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ireland was going through difficult political and economic turmoil in their home country that people
began to look for a way out desperately in order to survive. Many chose to move to the U.S. in search
of labor and to provide for their families, but their migration was seen as exile and banishment rather
than a quest of opportunity like other immigrants (Kenny 124). As the Irish began to settle in the U.S.,
they tended to go to cities as they were young and could find work in urban cities easier. However,
they noticed that the further west they went, the more success they had in looking for jobs. There was
a heavy demand for Irish unskilled labor as they provided cheap, expendable labor for the U.S. s
emerging industrial and urban infrastructure. Not only did the Irish begin to find work, but Irish
female immigrants began to work as domestics, filling 80 percent of positions in many cities. The
Irish were successful in finding work, but still faced discrimination due to their banished migration
and low wage jobs (Kenny 129). The Irish were not the only racial group to search for labor and be
discriminated against as more ethnicities would begin to arrive in the U.S. and receive harsher

Statement Of Purpose In Computer Science
Statement of Purpose As Arthur C. Clarke said Any sufficiently advanced technology is
indistinguishable from magic , I am always fond of that magic and I never ceased to learn new things
especially, computers. Its formidability and enigma urged me to take footsteps in the field of
Computer Science, that is when I decided to pursue my graduation in Computer Science. Hence upon
completion of my 12th grade, I took up Computer Science and Engineering at the Sriguru Institute of
Technology, India affiliated to Anna University which provided me the perfect platform for achieving
academic excellence. In the course of my Undergraduation, my area of interest is C, Java, Computer
Networks, Data Mining and Web Technologies. Studying aforementioned courses made my journey
very interesting. Programming languages have given me the milieu to put theory into practice and
have helped me keep my logical skills sharp and limpid. I did not limit myself to classroom learning

This summer is about two new kids moving in the neighborhood and becoming new friends with Lily,
Izzabella, Niall, and Jeff. These kids who already lived here in Malibu, California were attracted to
these new kids from there joyfulness, love, and kindness, and later on they all became very good

Jesus Villahermosa Thesis
After reading the essay written by Jesus Villahermosa I believe his thesis statement is Given my
extensive experience dealing with violence in the workplace and at schools and colleges, I do not
think professors and administrators, let alone students, should carry guns . In his second paragraph, he
lays out reason as to why he feels this way and shows that he can be considered an expert in firearm
safety. Giving information into his background reinforces his position and add to his argument against
arming people on college campuses. Some may be surprised that he is against having armed
professors and students on campus because of his background. However, I am not surprised that he is
strongly against having firearm toting professors, administrators and students throughout campuses.
He is properly trained, experienced with firearm safety and marksmanship which in turn gives him
great support to his argument. Villahermosa gave ample reasons to support his argument against
carrying weapons on college campuses throughout his essay. The most persuasive reason he gives

He gave clear and abundant reasons to back up his argument and laid out many consequences for
having a policy that would allow guns on campus. With colleges already struggling financially a
policy allowing guns would bring even more need for funding to cash strapped institutions. The
training required would be extensive and costly to have competent people carrying and ready to use
their gun if needed. The risks involved in allowing guns on campus seem to be extremely high and
wildly unpredictable. It would make it harder for police to distinguish between the good guy and the

Corporate Marketing Is Responsible for Childrens Materialism Today, advertisements is an issue that
brainwashes the youth and drains the money from their parent s pockets. Jonathan Rowe, director of
the Tomales Bay Institute, and Gary Ruskin, executive director of Commercial Alert, published an
article called, Corporate Marketing Is Responsible for Childrens Materialism in 2006 through
Greenhaven Press. Both writers of the article explain the marketing industry in today s generation, and
influence their readers thinking about the horrendous outcomes it has on the youth. Rowe and Ruskin
s thesis states that advertisers are frequently able to avoid parents when promoting their merchandises
to the children. In result, corrupt marketers undermines the authority for parents, and conquers the
children s confidentiality. After the launch of televisions and the internet, there has been countless of
different types of advertisements. The markets advertisements tries to appeal to the youth that include
the ages of teens and even younger. Rowe and Ruskin used their article to argue that the government
and politicians should be more aware of the marketing these days, and how the marketing industry
influence the future. Within their article, there are copious examples and situations that they set out for
their readers to better understand their argument and reasons. Rowe and Ruskin effectively employs

Analysis Of The Boy Died In My Alley
Published first during the decade of the 1990s The Boy Died in My Alley remains a significant poem
of Gwendolyn Brooks as she moves from traditional forms of poetry such as sonnets, ballads to the
most unrestrictive free verse and includes the sad rhythm of the blues. This poem offers an amazing
juxtaposition of dramatic poetic forms, narrative, and lyric (Guth Rico). The story is most often simple
but with the last line, they transcend the restriction of place and cover universal plight. Most often the
characters of the people are memorable only due to fact that they are trying to survive the trials and
tribulations of daily living. For example, in the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley , the author narrates
an incident when a black boy is murdered in her back alley and the policeman asks her whether she
has heard the shot. As she was passionate about the bad experiences of black community in the United
States, her poetry is mainly about their plight in the society (Guth Rico). The main focus of the poem,
The Boy Died in My Alley is to study and analyze the reasons behind the violence that is associated
with African American children who live on the street.
Like her other poems, the story of the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley is very simple, but the
narrator gradually narrows down the incident described in the poem to the general plight of the black
children who live on the street. The poem starts when a policeman informs poet about a black boy
who was shot behind

as male chefs because it shouldn t matter the gender and they are doing exactly the same thing. In
general female get paid so little and male get paid so much more . This will be including female chefs
in the food industry. According to Bloomberg.com Women hold just 6.3 percent of head chef positions

Since the UK joined the EU in 1973 under Edward Heath the UK legal system has been inferior to the
EU legal system. The EU s main judicial arms are the Court of the Justice of the European Union
(CJEU) which was established under the European Coal and Steel Community Treaty (1951) and the
General Court (GC) which was established in 1986. The General Court was originally referred to as
the Court of First Instance however has since been renamed under the Lisbon Treaty (2009) as the GC
in which cases can be appealed to the CJEU but only on points of law. The EU is only able to legislate
on areas where it is empowered to by treaties for example on areas such as trade, competition, single
market legislation, agriculture and justice.
The CJEU is the highest court in the EU. It is comprised of one judge from each member state and is
supported by eight Advocate Generals whose role it is to provide an impartial and public opinion on
the case brought before the CJEU. The primary function of the CJEU is to ensure that the
interpretation and application of the EU law established by treaties is observed (Treaty of Rome:

There are moments in life that hold you to a higher standard. Amid the practiced perfection with

internal medicine began in its consistent need for adaptability. Just as the change in one note can alter
the tone of a musical piece, similarly, one pertinent piece of information can shift the diagnosis
entirely and it is through the interpretation of these subtle clues that my interest in the diagnostic
process arose.

The New Use of Information Technology in the Operating Room
The new use of information technology in the operating room: The future of telemedicine in the OR
for patients in underserved areas Information technology has become a critical component of all facets
of healthcare and has taken on increased prominence in operating rooms as well as in other
components of care such as diagnosis and screening. No longer mainly used for improved electronic
record keeping (although this is one of its strengths), information technology is changing the
healthcare system in profound ways. The gap between information technology and clinical technology
has been getting smaller and more and more functions of IT are now part and parcel of ordinary
surgical procedures (Lockridge 2013). For example, while x rays and MRIs are historically a clinical
technology but now they re being captured digitally and used in electronic medical records and for

Another potential issue that prevents performance based compensation from being completely
effective is the method of implementation. What performance an employee is being compensated for
is just as important as (if not more important than) the fact the he is being compensated for
performance. If an employee is being compensated for sales he makes, he may find himself cutting
corners or ignoring rules to make sales that he ought not to make. Ho et al use Sears as an example of
this phenomenon. In 1992, Sears ended a policy of performance based compensation that had failed
miserably, because auto repair salespeople had performed $15 million dollars of unnecessary services
for which Sears was ultimately forced to refund payment, or pay other settlement costs. The issue was
that Sears was paying their salespeople based on the number of sales they made, thus giving them a
motivation to perform unnecessary services, despite the fact that this would cause the company in
incur long run costs. Thus, performance based pay is not necessarily a good thing, especially if it is
linked to an aspect of performance that may not directly relate to overall company performance. One
might try to learn a lesson from this example and determine that employees should

Health, The Elementary Human Right Essay
Introduction
Health the Elementary Human Right
Health is declared as a basic human right by the universal declaration of human rights in 1948, stating
that everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well being of oneself and
one s family, including food, clothing, housing, and medical care. Endowment of health is a
fundamental good and a moral issue because it provides opportunity to pursue life goals, reduces pain
and suffering, prevents premature loss of life, and provides information needed to plan lives (Jacobson
and Mathur, 2010). However, it is not later than three decades ago that health is placed high on
international agenda. This international agenda has strongly passed on into almost all countries after
the report of the Commission on Macroeconomics and Health, that investing in health leads to
economic development. This reports emphasized health as a resource for everyday life and as driver of
economy of nation (WHO, 2001).
What is a Health Policy?
Health policy can be formally defined as the broad statement of goals, objectives and means that
create the framework for activity. It includes what governments decide to do or not to do. (Buse et al.,
2005). Health policies are expected to offer methods and opportunities to develop collaboration among
different sectors, organizations and people to attain a common goal of promoting health (WHO, 1986,
Byrant, 2002). The main intent of health policies is to create supportive

Research on the Communicative Skills of Dogs
We all learn from one another and wolves, like dogs, can learn from us as well. Dogs are more skillful
than great apes at a number of tasks in which they must read human communicative signals like
indicating the location of hidden food. However, the main objective of these studies was to determine
whether the skills that dog have today have arisen from the hundreds of years of domestication and co
evolution with humans, or if these were already in their genes from their wolf ancestors (Bates 2013).
The modern wolf comes from a long history of canines, which have adapted to survive in many
different environments. They adapt their diet to the food that is available where younger wolves watch
and learn from the other members of the pack, a behavior commonly known as cultural transmission.
The alpha wolves order the others on where to go, when to hunt and where to make a den. Wolves like
dogs act upon orders.
Genetic and archaeological evidence shows that humans domesticated wolves on more than one
occasion. Domesticated wolves provided early humans with a guard animal, a source of food, fur, and
a beast of burden. The process continues to this day, with the intentional artificial selection and
crossbreeding of dogs to create new breeds. The objective of these studies was to answer the question

A Brief Note On Down The Drain It Goes
Down the Drain it Goes We have come to the conclusion that there is no more fresh water on the earth
and that there is no potable water, says a news reporter. The earth could eventually end up like this.
How much of the earth contains freshwater? Will the earth ever run out of water? If so, how long from
now will we run out of water? What effects could this cause? All of these questions are ones that
interest me greatly and that I would like to know the answers to. After taking an environmental
science class in high school, I already had some prior knowledge on some areas of this topic. This
knowledge includes learning about how much water there is on the earth. The part of the earth that is
water is known as the hydrosphere and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, I often hear about the topics of water scarcity on the news and in articles and they bring up
countries having water issues, so it encouraged me to find out more about the topic and to hopefully
get my questions answered. While having many tools available for me to find secondary research for
my topic, the easiest and closest source was my school s library database. On my school s library
website, there is a search generator for looking up articles, books, journals, and anything you can read.
This database was very helpful when it came to looking for secondary resources. All I needed to do
was type in a few key words, and then read through the options that were given to me based on what I
was looking for. After researching and looking through the data, I found some great articles about my
topic on the fresh water on earth. However, I did have to search a few different key words and
questions to find exactly what I was looking for. I explored things such as water scarcity, fresh water
on earth, will the earth run out of water?, and how long from now will the earth run out of water?. All
of these searches led to many different articles which then became my secondary sources which I
could use to help answer my questions. I had to read through more than three articles, even though I
needed at least three articles, to decide which ones seemed the most reliable and well written. My first

Ir Iran Nuclear Enrichment Program
Will Esposito

Iranian Nuclear Enrichment Program Since the first atomic bomb tests in the mid 1940 s, to the arms
race between the Soviet Union and the United States in the 1960 s, to the disarmament phase in the
1990 s, nuclear energy has come a long way. The five nuclear powers have tried to keep their secrets
on weapon manufacturing and element enrichment under wraps, but several countries have found out
how; now they have large nuclear programs. Iran has recently joined the club, pursuing a program for
uranium and plutonium enrichment abilities. The P5+1 (United States, Russia, Britain, France, and
China + Germany) have tried to inhibit Iran, but they have not succeeded. The ... Show more content

At Iran s heavy water plant in Arak modifications have been underway to enable plutonium
production. Inspection of this plant, and several more like it will need to focus so that Iran does not
produce more than a kilogram a year of fissable materials for weaponry (Gordon). U.S. and Israel
have been accusing Tehran of making a program only to make nuclear warheads and non civilian
objectives instead of nuclear energy and fission reactors ( Envoy Reiterates Peaceful Nature of Iran s
Nuclear Activities. ).
A contending point of view would be that Iran and Israel would get enraged and ensue in advanced
nuclear warfare. Iran is refusing to cooperate in the peace talks. Secretary of State John Kerry wants
the extension because not extending the talks will risk further turmoil the Middle East. The nuclear
program in Iran as we negotiate is frozen. We would be fools to walk away from a situation where the
breakout time has already been expanded rather than narrowed, and where the world is safer because
this program is in place, Kerry told reporters at the end of a week of exhaustive negotiations with
Iranian counterpart, Javad Zarif in November 2014 (Norman, L.; Norman, J.; and Norman, S.). Iran
has been picking fights with Israel, sparking tension. The right deal that is needed is to dismantle Iran
s capacity to make atomic bombs and only then to dismantle the sanctions. Since that

Communities Rights to Enforce Moral Conviction through Law
Canada: a nation built, politically, on the rights accompanied by being a democratic state. A
democracy, in the simplest of terms, states that a society has the right to vote in laws, political leaders
and bring other social justice issues up to the head of their political hierarchy. To suggest that a society
should not have any right to enforce its moral convictions through the law would be morally unsound
in a country that prides itself on equality and democracy. In this essay I will be arguing against the
idea stated above: the notion that a community should not be able to have their laws reflected in the
value and morals of their people. To support this opinion, I will be drawing points from Wil Waluchow
s The Concept of a Moral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is why it is necessary for a society to set laws based on the general moral convictions they hold.
Communities are based on a general consensus for what is morally sound and what is completely
unjust. If a community of individuals cannot come to a general agreement of what is right and what is
wrong, these is going to be conflict and the society will, naturally, spilt into smaller communities with
people who carry the same principles. This is called the Disintegration Thesis (Callaghan, 2014).
Imagine a group of people living in a small community. For this community to function, they must all
have the same mentality about specific ideas. If half the community does not want to eat meat and the
other half only wants to eat meat, the group would eventually split into two separate societies.
Because of this, Devlin has come to the conclusion that every society has the right to implement
morals, in both a personal and political sense, so that each society does not disintegrate (Callaghan,
2014). An example of the Disintegration Thesis in society is that of Sudan. Again, I will be using the
topic of religion and it s moral implications. Sudan is ruled by Arabic Muslims, but at the time of it
splitting, the in the Southern area of Sudan, the people either followed Christian beliefs or another
religion, but not Arabic Muslims. The religious differences lead to many moral conflicts and,

World War II ended in 1945, but America could not rest....
World War II ended in 1945, but America could not rest. Serious discussion about reorganization
began in Congress and the military department in 1944 and aroused much public interest (Trask 1997).
Because the Air Force played such a large role, discussion of separating the Air Force from the Army
Air Forces (AAF) began. A proposal was created to establish one department for the United States
Armed Forces, combining all the military branches under one department. On 19 December 1945,
President Truman sent a message to Congress recommending a single department of national defense
with three coordinate branches land, sea, and air. (Trask 1997). Management of Military and foreign
policies were needed during peacetime as they were during ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The National Security Act of 1947 not only created the CIA, but it also separated the Air Force from
the United States Army Air Forces (AAF). This act established a new Department of the Air Force and
the U.S. Air Force (Trask 1997). The importance of National Security in the 1940s was still present
during President Regan s administration in the 1980s. To strengthen strategic deterrence, President
Reagan revived the B 1 advanced bomber and approved acquisition of the B 2 stealth bomber (Trest
1998). The United States Air Force has adapted since the Cold War era since there is no longer a need
for such a large force. The modern United States Air Force has aircraft designed to destroy air and
ground targets, and their cargo aircraft can be used to support humanitarian aid across the globe. The
United States Air Force is an active component of the United States Cyber Command and combating
cyber attacks against America. The Air Force has created a Reconnaissance Squadron that operates
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). The United States Air Force has been involved in the Korean War,
Vietnam War, Gulf War, and is still active in the Global War on Terrorism.
The National Security Act of 1947 created a cabinet level, civilian Secretary of Defense to preside
over separate departments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force. It institutionalized the wartime Joint
Chiefs of Staff (JCS), established a National Security Council (NSC) in the White House to

A Report On India s The Garden Where Plastic Bags
On a visit to India a while back I came upon a fenced empty field that was practically buried in flimsy
white throwaway plastic bags, the kind you carry your purchases home in from the store. The locals
joked that this was the garden where plastic bags grew.
But when I returned to India last month, I was pleasantly surprised to find that now when you shop in
New Delhi, no store will give you a plastic bag for your purchases. They re illegal there, as well as in
many other Indian cities and states.
That puts India well ahead of most of the world when it comes to this particular ecological issue. Most
everywhere in the U.S., for instance, the throwaway plastic bag remains the ubiquitous way people
haul their stuff home from the local store. But those bags never biodegrade into anything that nature
can use again.
Worse, the vast majority of such single use plastic items never get recycled, and even degradable
plastics may not degrade all that well. On top of that, product life cycle assessments, which are on the
verge of becoming more commonly available and used in the marketplace, do not include either litter
or biodegradability as factors.
The news on some once promising plastic alternatives is not so encouraging. A review published last
month in Environmental Science and Technology by a group of scientists one at the polymer science
division of the Indian Institute of Technology finds that degradable The news on once promising

Montgomery College Student Parking Problem
From my perspective as a Montgomery College student, the current parking situation has become a
problem that needs to be addressed. On the west campus there is only one parking garage and there are
not enough spaces for all of the students to park. Some students spend a lot of time circling around
looking for a parking space. There is street parking, but students feel that they should not have to pay
for parking. In order to get a parking spot, I have to arrive at around 8:00 AM even if my class isn t
even until late morning.
When I get to the parking garage at around 11:00 AM most of the spaces are filled, and the change
over of students has yet to occur. Students drive all the way to the top of the garage just to find that
there are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the city many places are narrow and you have to build up. So to fit more cars into a small space
there are lifts. One kind of lift is called the Robotic Parking System. It enables parking from several
hundred cars to several thousand in half the amount of space. A person would drive their car into the
parking terminal, and sensors would ensure that the car was placed correctly. The driver would exit the
vehicle, lock the doors and take a parking card from the kiosk. A computer system then lifts the car
and places it on a shelving system. When one is ready to leave they place their parking card into a
kiosk and the system locates their car and brings it down. The screen then displays where the driver
can pick up their car. This also insures safe parking since it is impossible for someone to break and
steal your car. An additional option that is probably the least expensive would be for students to park
in parking garages in downtown Silver Spring. Shuttles buses could be provided by the College to
pick up students from the garage and at the end of the day the shuttle could bring the students back to
their cars. No solution goes without having its issues, whether it is structural, financial or aesthetic.
Some of the solutions to expand the parking are more reasonable, while some will cost a pretty penny.
Whichever proposal the college decides to go with will benefit the

Even with their differences, they also share some similarities, much like East Asia and the Middle East. In the 1900 s, East Asia was not facing active colonization, resulting in it being more peaceful than other surrounding regions one of those regions being the Middle East, which had to deal with religious and ethnic tension, in turn, being reflected in their writing. Compared to the Middle East, East Asian literature conveys a more optimistic tone due to less intense oppression as opposed to that of which Middle Easterners underwent, but still touches on some similarities common with the Middle East. The Middle East and East Asia both use the themes of unification, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The story The Grasshopper and the Bell Cricket helps show how both regions had an appreciation for everything, be it big or small. Most of the lanterns were beautiful square ones which the children had made themselves with love and care (159). This shows that even though they lacked many things, they still appreciated what they had, even if it was small. The Middle Eastern poem Identity Card also shows this theme. My house... made of sticks and reeds (80) shows the small amount that the Palestinians in the Middle East had and how they were able to appreciate it before it was all taken away from them. The East Asian poem One Step shows the theme of admiration as well, however this time it is the appreciation of time. The child has learned to talk to walls... dotage, only one step away. (146) shows the passing of time and how, in a blink of an eye, a child would have experienced their whole life and become feeble and old. This shows the acceptance of the East Asian people that life is quick and their appreciation towards what they already had. Both East Asia and the Middle East used first person point of view as well, although each having a different reasoning for doing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

During a most dark and dismal time in our nations history, we find that the Africans who endured horrible circumstances during slavery, found ways of peace and hope in their religious beliefs. During slavery, Africans where able to survive unbearable conditions by focusing on their spirituality. Christianity was amongst the slave community. Being that the vast majority of the slave community was born in America, converting slaves to Christianity was not a struggle. All slaves were not Christian, and slaves that had accepted Christianity were not official members of the church. Over time Slaves made Christianity their own. There would be occurrences where ... Prayer, song, close communities, and feeling the spirit would refresh the slaves in times of distress. Freedom was usually the topic of prayer and it was all slaves had. They had great faith in the lord and believed that their true home was heaven. Some masters were known to enjoy the singing, praying and preaching of their slaves. Many slaves were baptized and taught to pray certain prayers by their masters, but were rarely truly educated on the true definition of Christianity. Most slaves held on to their African religious practices, this in return formed many hybrid religions. Voodoo would be one, this religion originated in the island of St. Dominquez. Voodoo was a combination of Catholicism with various West African traditions. There were 3 tiers in spiritual hierarchy. There was one supreme deity several ancestral gods, and many minor spirits. There was also a strong emphasis on magic. Africans were very spiritual people. Negro spirituals were an important factor to enduring slavery. Slaves enjoyed Negro spirituals as a way of enduring hard times and as a form of praise to god despite their situation. They are known as the oceans most kind animals.Dolphins have originated millions of years ago,are extremely endangered, and are becoming endangered. The most important thing to know about dolphins would probably be how they originated because without that those cute aquatic mammals wouldn t even exist. Dolphins have been around a lot longer than humans. They originated about 50 million years ago. The most common dolphin, being the bottlenose dolphin, has been around for 15 million years. Surprisingly, dolphins originated from members of the cetaceans group. Cetaceans used to be land mammals but evolved into being aquatic mammals. In From Land to Water it stated, The transition from land to water is documented by a series of intermediate fossils from India and Pakistan. Our reasoning for such a significant increase was to give us the ability to have a lower volume of supplies, leaving more capacity for the new bike. Since we do not want high volume of sales for the mountain bike, we decided to eliminate all advertising and public relationship expenses for the mountain bikes. For the youth bike we decided to keep the advertising expenditure at 2 million in order to raise the awareness of this new product line. This also helps establish a good market share in case competitors also decide to launch the youth bike. Since we have a low capacity for the bike, we also decided to increase the price from $370 to $400, resulting in an increase in gross margin. With this increase, we are still producing at a high yet relatively low volume. Operations Decisions We decided to decrease the price of mountain bike production from $134 per bike to $108. The difference of $26 for 11,000 units results in a saving of almost $300,000. In the meanwhile, we also decided to dump our finish goods inventory, incurring a loss of $175,000. • 10. Descriptive Power Of Nature Deep in the mountains in the southwest corner of North Carolina is a river unlike any other. Halfway through my perilous rafting journey, there was a moment when time stood still. I witnessed a natural phenomenon which displayed the beauty of nature at its finest. During that moment, I realized the insignificance of humanity, and why we should respect the overwhelming power of nature. The Nantahala is a whitewater river nestled in a valley with steep mountains flanking it on all sides. The forest it was situated in is the only temperate rain forest east of the Mississippi River. The rafting Industry has adopted this river as its premier destination. I was a 14 year old Boy Scout on a three day camping trip in the Nantahala Gorge. The weather was cloudy with periodic rain showers throughout the day and night. The temperature was at the mid 80 s but never got above the 90 s. I was in a bright yellow raft shared amongst five of my companions and a rafting Guide who went by the name Bones. Bones was a Caucasian man with dreads in his hair, tattoos of paddles shaped as a pirates cross on both of his arms, and was massively strong. We floated down the river like leaves down a stream; constantly fighting to stay upright and not be cast overboard by the restless aggression of the rapids. We were part of the way through a two hour journey down the Nantahala river. It had rained continuously throughout the trip, which meant we were soaked to the bone and fighting hypothermia. ... • 11. What Role Does The Sphinx Play In Oedipus Rex 1 Muhammad Mahmood Eng 112 Spring 2015 Research Paper Oedipus the King Greek Drama played an important civic role in ancient Greece. This is evident in the tragic drama, Oedipus the King by Sophocles. The people of ancient Greece religiously believed in prophecies and the fact that the Gods controlled their destiny. If something were to be wrong with their lands then they would think that it was because something angered the gods, and in return would try to sacrifice animals in an attempt to make the Gods happy. Secondly Oedipus didn t know that Jocasta was his mother until the very end. One might say that Oedipus might have originally agreed to married Jocassta because he found her unconsciously attracted because of that fact that she was his biological mother. His friend knew how bad his family was struggling and he still stole from him. In the end Diaz regained his money and belongings, but this just showed how much of a real friend he was. This family was already struggling and now they are hit with a burden of theft. This just goes to show that anything can happen, but the outcome depends on how people handle it. The purpose of this story is to show that your childhood does not define your whole life. Diaz obviously had a rough childhood at times. Especially moving into the United States from the Dominican. This poem offers an amazing juxtaposition of dramatic poetic forms, narrative, and lyric (Guth Rico). The story is most often simple but with the last line, they transcend the restriction of place and cover universal plight. Most often the characters of the people are memorable only due to fact that they are trying to survive the trials and tribulations of daily living. For example, in the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley , the author narrates an incident when a black boy is murdered in her back alley and the policeman asks her whether she has heard the shot. As she was passionate about the bad experiences of black community in the United States, her poetry is mainly about their plight in the society (Guth Rico). The main focus of the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley is to study and analyze the reasons behind the violence that is associated with African American children who live on the street. Like her other poems, the story of the poem, The Boy Died in My Alley is very simple, but the narrator gradually narrows down the incident described in the poem to the general plight of the black children who live on the street. Another potential issue that prevents performance based compensation from being completely effective is the method of implementation. What performance an employee is being compensated for is just as important as (if not more important than) the fact the he is being compensated for performance. Ho et al use Sears as an example of this phenomenon. In 1992, Sears ended a policy of performance based compensation that had failed miserably, because auto repair salespeople had performed $15 million dollars of unnecessary services for which Sears was ultimately forced to refund payment, or pay other settlement costs. The issue was that Sears was paying their salespeople based on the number of sales they made, thus giving them a motivation to perform unnecessary services, despite the fact that this would cause the company in incur long run costs. Homelessness is a growing problem in nearly every city across the United States and yet it is often overlooked. One of the primary causes of homelessness across the United States is the result of chronic mental health disorders followed by increasing rates of poverty (Martin, 2015). The harmful effects of long term homelessness are well known and documented as incidents of violence and sexual abuse increase among ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 73). • 40. Health, The Elementary Human Right Essay Introduction Health the Elementary Human Right Health is declared as a basic human right by the universal declaration of human rights in 1948, stating that everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well being of oneself and one s family, including food, clothing, housing, and medical care. Endowment of health is a fundamental good and a moral issue because it provides opportunity to pursue life goals, reduces pain and suffering, prevents premature loss of life, and provides information needed to plan lives (Jacobson and Mathur, 2010). However, it is not later than three decades ago that health is placed high on international agenda. This international agenda has strongly passed on into almost all countries after the report of the Commission on Macroeconomics and Health, that investing in health leads to economic development. This reports emphasized health as a resource for everyday life and as driver of economy of nation (WHO, 2001). What is a Health Policy? Health policy can be formally defined as the broad statement of goals, objectives and means that create the framework for activity. It includes what governments decide to do or not to do. (Buse et al., 2005). Health policies are expected to offer methods and opportunities to develop collaboration among different sectors, organizations and people to attain a common goal of promoting health (WHO, 1986, Byrant, 2002). • 41. Research on the Communicative Skills of Dogs We all learn from one another and wolves, like dogs, can learn from us as well. Dogs are more skillful than great apes at a number of tasks in which they must read human communicative signals like indicating the location of hidden food. However, the main objective of these studies was to determine whether the skills that dog have today have arisen from the hundreds of years of domestication and co evolution with humans, or if these were already in their genes from their wolf ancestors (Bates 2013). The modern wolf comes from a long history of canines, which have adapted to survive in many different environments. They adapt their diet to the food that is available where younger wolves watch and learn from the other members of the pack, a behavior commonly known as cultural transmission. The alpha wolves order the others on where to go, when to hunt and where to make a den. Wolves like dogs act upon orders. Genetic and archaeological evidence shows that humans domesticated wolves on more than one occasion. Domesticated wolves provided early humans with a guard animal, a source of food, fur, and a beast of burden. The process continues to this day, with the intentional artificial selection and crossbreeding of dogs to create new breeds. The objective of these studies was to answer the question whether their roots were present before dogs became man s best friend or not? • 42. A Brief Note On Down The Drain It Goes Down the Drain it Goes We have come to the conclusion that there is no more fresh water on the earth and that there is no potable water, says a news reporter. The earth could eventually end up like this. How much of the earth contains freshwater? Will the earth ever run out of water? If so, how long from now will we run out of water? What effects could this cause? All of these questions are ones that interest me greatly and that I would like to know the answers to. After taking an environmental science class in high school, I already had some prior knowledge on some areas of this topic. This knowledge includes learning about how much water there is on the earth. The part of the earth that is water is known as the hydrosphere and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Likewise, I often hear about the topics of water scarcity on the news and in articles and they bring up countries having water issues, so it encouraged me to find out more about the topic and to hopefully get my questions answered. While having many tools available for me to find secondary research for my topic, the easiest and closest source was my school s library database. On my school s library website, there is a search generator for looking up articles, books, journals, and anything you can read. This database was very helpful when it came to looking for secondary resources. All I needed to do was type in a few key words, and then read through the options that were given to me based on what I was looking for. After researching and looking through the data, I found some great articles about my topic on the fresh water on earth. However, I did have to search a few different key words and questions to find exactly what I was looking for. I explored things such as water scarcity, fresh water on earth, will the earth run out of water?, and how long from now will the earth run out of water?. All of these searches led to many different articles which then became my secondary sources which I could use to help answer my questions. I had to read through more than three articles, even though I needed at least three articles, to decide which ones seemed the most reliable and well written. My first ... • 44. Communities Rights to Enforce Moral Conviction through Law Canada: a nation built, politically, on the rights accompanied by being a democratic state. A democracy, in the simplest of terms, states that a society has the right to vote in laws, political leaders and bring other social justice issues up to the head of their political hierarchy. To suggest that a society should not have any right to enforce its moral convictions through the law would be morally unsound in a country that prides itself on equality and democracy. In this essay I will be arguing against the idea stated above: the notion that a community should not be able to have their laws reflected in the value and morals of their people. To support this opinion, I will be drawing points from Wil Waluchow s The Concept of a Moral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is why it is necessary for a society to set laws based on the general moral convictions they hold. Communities are based on a general consensus for what is morally sound and what is completely unjust. If a community of individuals cannot come to a general agreement of what is right and what is wrong, these is going to be conflict and the society will, naturally, spilt into smaller communities with people who carry the same principles. This is called the Disintegration Thesis (Callaghan, 2014). Imagine a group of people living in a small community. For this community to function, they must all have the same mentality about specific ideas. If half the community does not want to eat meat and the other half only wants to eat meat, the group would eventually split into two separate societies. Because of this, Devlin has come to the conclusion that every society has the right to implement morals, in both a personal and political sense, so that each society does not disintegrate (Callaghan, 2014). An example of the Disintegration Thesis in society is that of Sudan. Again, I will be using the topic of religion and it s moral implications. Sudan is ruled by Arabic Muslims, but at the time of it splitting, the in the Southern area of Sudan, the people either followed Christian beliefs or another religion, but not Arabic Muslims. Serious discussion about reorganization began in Congress and the military department in 1944 and aroused much public interest (Trask 1997). Because the Air Force played such a large role, discussion of separating the Air Force from the Army Air Forces (AAF) began. A proposal was created to establish one department for the United States Armed Forces, combining all the military branches under one department. • 46. A Report On India s The Garden Where Plastic Bags On a visit to India a while back I came upon a fenced empty field that was practically buried in flimsy white throwaway plastic bags, the kind you carry your purchases home in from the store. The locals joked that this was the garden where plastic bags grew. But when I returned to India last month, I was pleasantly surprised to find that now when you shop in New Delhi, no store will give you a plastic bag for your purchases. They re illegal there, as well as in many other Indian cities and states. That puts India well ahead of most of the world when it comes to this particular ecological issue. Most everywhere in the U.S., for instance, the throwaway plastic bag remains the ubiquitous way people haul their stuff home from the local store. But those bags never biodegrade into anything that nature can use again. Worse, the vast majority of such single use plastic items never get recycled, and even degradable plastics may not degrade all that well. On top of that, product life cycle assessments, which are on the verge of becoming more commonly available and used in the marketplace, do not include either litter or biodegradability as factors. The news on some once promising plastic alternatives is not so encouraging. A review published last month in Environmental Science and Technology by a group of scientists one at the polymer science division of the Indian Institute of Technology finds that degradable The news on once promising plastic alternatives is not so ... On the west campus there is only one parking garage and there are not enough spaces for all of the students to park. Some students spend a lot of time circling around looking for a parking space. There is street parking, but students feel that they should not have to pay for parking. In order to get a parking spot, I have to arrive at around 8:00 AM even if my class isn t even until late morning. So to fit more cars into a small space there are lifts. One kind of lift is called the Robotic Parking System. It enables parking from several hundred cars to several thousand in half the amount of space. A person would drive their car into the parking terminal, and sensors would ensure that the car was placed correctly. The driver would exit the vehicle, lock the doors and take a parking card from the kiosk. A computer system then lifts the car and places it on a shelving system. When one is ready to leave they place their parking card into a kiosk and the system locates their car and brings it down. The screen then displays where the driver can pick up their car. This also insures safe parking since it is impossible for someone to break and steal your car. An additional option that is probably the least expensive would be for students to park in parking garages in downtown Silver Spring. Shuttles buses could be provided by the College to pick up students from the garage and at the end of the day the shuttle could bring the students back to their cars.
