2. Autism Spectrum Disorder And The Childhood Autism Rating...
Autism spectrum disorder is an umbrella term used in diagnosing a collection of developmental
disorders of the brain that vary in severity1. People with ASD may have trouble with social
interactions, problems with different types of communication, may practice repetitive actions or
behaviors1,2, struggle with paying attention, and suffer from motor disfunctions1. ASD is usually
diagnosed in children between the ages of 2 and 3, this early diagnosis is very beneficial because it
leads to intervention which intern leads to more positive outcomes later in life1. ASD affects 1 in
every 68 American children1 and is 4 5 times more common in boys than girls1. Prevalence of this
disease is on the rise, with a 10 17% increases in cases per year1, which could be due to improved
diagnostic methods, environmental factors, and other reasons that are unknown1. One well established
diagnostic tool is the Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS) which is 15 point rating scale3 used to
diagnose children with ASD and determine its severity2. Another less accredited, but still informative
diagnostic tool is the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist (ATEC)2 which differs from the CARS
because it is a parent rater form of measurment2. ASD has no cure, but there have been studies that
show behavioral outbursts can be reduced with the use of certain movements and breathing
techniques4. This encourages confidence that more aspects of ASD can be improved with similar
methods. Professionals fill out the

candy.
DV: I will measure the weight of the crystal in grams, and visually the size of the crystals.
For my experiment, using different sugar solutions, such as sugar water that is 25% sugar, 50% sugar,

In the Shadow of the Banyan, by Vaddey Ratner, details the struggles of Raami, a young girl coming
of age in a time of the Cambodian genocide. The descriptions from Raami s point of view are vivid.
She is forced to leave her childhood behind with the regime of the Khmer Rouge. As a Cambodian
child, her life transformed from living as a princess with many privileges to living life day to day on
the move, witnessing such terror, is quite the turnaround for anyone especially a child. She processes
her experience as best as a child her age can, based on pure emotions. She s at an age where children
make sense of things with naivety. As the story continues, the descriptions of what she sees changes.
As I have mentioned, Raami does not fully comprehend

5. Environmental Impacts Of Coal Mining
It has been long recognized that there are many environmental consequences by extracting, using and
disposing of coal. Due mainly to the nature of the coal deposits which are typically full size, covering
huge regions including more than one seams extending over big vertical durations. Coal mining in all
likelihood consequences in an extra disturbance to the geologic conditions of an area than any other
form of mining(Ehlen, Haneberg Larson, 2005, p. 79). The two ways to mine coal; surface mining and
underground mining both extraction operations have their own personal negative impact on the
environment. Strip mining a type of surface mining, is highly destructive scraping away at earths
landscape to reach the coal buried near the surface removing plants, trees and topsoil. Also, another
type of surface mining; mountaintop mining blasts off the tops of mountain s to reach coal seams
within, creating drastic changes in topography. Whereas, underground coal extraction has its fair share
of environmental impacts as well, such as subsidence and underground coal fires. Mine subsidence
and collapses have the potential to produce major effects above ground, which are especially
devastating in developed areas, destroying roads and buildings. Craig, Vaughan Skinner (2011) found
that there are an estimated 300 underground coal fires still burning in the United States; in many parts
of the world, coal beds have been accidentally or spontaneously ignited (p.142). The

6. Essay On Resveratrol
Resveratrol Attenuates Neuronal Apoptosis after Subarachnoid Hemorrhage via inhibiting the
expression of TXNIP in Rats Abstract Objective: Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) is a fatal condition
with a few available effective treatments. Resveratrol (RES), a natural polyphenolic compound, has a
powerful anti apoptosis property. In addition, its neuroprotective effects has been exhibited in
neurodegenerative diseases, ischemic brain damage, and SAH. However, the underlying molecular
mechanism of RES in protecting against early brain injury (EBI) after SAH remains unclear. Our
preliminary findings have revealed that thioredoxin interacting protein (TXNIP) might participate in
EBI by promoting neuronal apoptosis. The purpose of this study was to ... Show more content on

Introduction Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), predominantly caused by a ruptured aneurysm, is a
devastating neurological disease that has a morbidity and mortality rate higher than 50% [1]. Early
brain injury (EBI) was reported as the primary cause of mortality and poor outcomes in SAH patients
[2 4]. Therefore, novel therapeutic strategies aiming at elucidating EBI after SAH are required. It has
been proven that a series of complex pathophysiological processes are involved in the pathogenesis of
EBI. Among them, neuronal apoptosis plays a vital role [3,5,6]. Therefore, preventing neuronal
apoptosis can be a prospective target to improve severe neurological deficits and outcomes in patients
with SAH. Resveratrol (trans 3, 4′, 5 trihydroxystilbene, RES), a natural polyphenolic compound
mainly found in grape skin and red wine, has attracted wide attention lately because of its antioxidant,
anti inflammation, anti aging, anti diabetes effects as well as control of cell cycle and apoptosis [7 9].
It has been proven that RES can cross the blood brain barrier (BBB) [10]. Previous studies have
shown that RES induced anti apoptosis in various diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular,
and neurodegenerative diseases [11 14]. Many investigators affirm that RES can reduce the neuronal
apoptosis, but very few reports are available regarding the underlying molecular mechanisms of
reducing neuronal

7. Characteristics Of Bespoke Documents
Outcome 3
3.1 Explain the characteristics of bespoke documents.
Bespoke business documents are documents individually or customised to meet a specific requirement
or purpose within a specific business. They are personalised to suit each business and can include
forms, publicity materials, invoices, business cards, spread sheets, databases, letterheads,
presentations, catalogues, reports, proposals etc. These are important because it places a professional
image on your company, which will attract new potential customers or will keep your current
customers interested. It is important to take into consideration when creating bespoke documents that
the purpose is to give a good impression to other businesses or customers, therefore, documents need
to be professional and well thought out. An untidy, poorly designed document can severely affect an
organisation s reputation with its stakeholders. Documents need to be consistent throughout, this
means the organisation s logo needs to be the same on all documents produced, as well as the general
theme, for example, you must use the same font and style like: bold/italic/underlined etc. Also, it is
preferably that in business documents should use no more than two different fonts, as it may seem
unprofessionally with more than two fonts. Fonts need to be readable, as well as in the correct size;
headings need to be larger than the main body of the text in order to differentiate, and there should
also be plenty of white space in

8. Sun Tzu Theory In The Horn Of Africa
Sun Tzu s Theory in the Horn of Africa s Security Challenge
Introduction
The greater Horn of Africa (HoA) is the sub region of the Eastern part of Africa that composed of
Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, and Uganda. Threats to peace and
security are interconnected and comprised various human insecurities that emanate from both
intrastate and interstate conflict, and transnational security threats such as terrorism. This is because
political, social, and security problems in the region further threaten development efforts and
complicate interventions to alleviate, the various related challenges of the region. Mainly, Terrorism
has been a source of serious security challenge to the Horn of Africa peace and development process.
As terrorism is the main security challenge of the Horn of Africa region, Sun Tzu s theory is relevant
in the war with terrorist organizations operated in the greater Horn of Africa. For these countries could
helpful in curbing the terrorist threat, if they examine Sun Tzu s theory offensive strategy according to
the existing context of the terrorist threat. The offensive strategy first should focus on attacking the
terrorist s strategy, and then their allies because the main strength of the terrorist is the strategy they
follow. Giving priority on attacking the terrorist s strategy would eliminate fertile ground for terrorist
organizations motive. Therefore, this paper will evaluate, and analyze Sun Tzu s theory such

Sentencing for drug offenders can be somewhat lenient or harsh depending upon what drug was
involved in the arrest and who the violator is; meaning if the violator is an adult or a juvenile. In

of Justice supports mandatory minimum sentences in appropriate circumstances, of course. Mandatory
minimum sentencing statues can provide a level of uniformity and predictability that regular
sentencing procedures cannot. Mandatory minimum sentencing discourages certain types of criminal
behavior by broadcasting the potential consequences of committing those offenses. They can also keep
dangerous offenders in prison for long periods of time, thereby increasing the public s safety. They
also provide an important tool for prosecutors by providing defendants with a convincing incentive,

10. Coming Of Age In Sparta
Brayden Drury
Coming of age can mean many different things for various cultures. Coming of age is the process of
maturing or entering into adulthood. Most cultures and religions have specific events, ceremonies, or
celebrations associated with coming of age. For a boy in ancient Sparta, coming of age includes many
spiritual, physical, intellectual, and emotional elements to overcome.
Coming of age in Sparta started moments after birth. The second a Spartan child was born, they were
tested to make sure they embodied the perfect image of a Spartan soldier. They tested children by
dipping them into a bath of wine to test their strength and determination. Spartans believed that a
weak child would convulse and die. If the child passed, they were then taken to a group of elders. If
the Elders found the child deficient in any way they would be left on the sides of Mount Taygetos to
die.
Spartan boys continued to get closer to coming of age their whole life. For example, at age eighteen,
the formal education aspect of the Agoge ended. The Agoge were a set of coming of age schools that
were designed to make the children mentally perfect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

I attended three sessions on Monday, April 4th, and the experience was highly beneficial for my future
career and built on many topics I have learned this semester so far. The exposure to Parks, Recreation,
and Tourism Management professionals allowed me to see possible futures for myself. The first
session I attended was on the education track; it was given by Debbie Stevens Smith and was entitled
The Kinesthetic Classroom: Why, How, and When. Ms. Smith, an early childhood professor at
Clemson University, spoke about why it is vital for teachers to create classrooms incorporating play
and movement, gave some advice on how to achieve this, and told us when we could incorporate
movement during the day. The most interesting new thing I learned during this session was about the
Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor; she compared this to miracle grow for the brain. Basically,
exercise encourages the growth of new neurons and synapses, thus increasing brain mass and mood
regulation. She also spoke about Finland, a nation with the highest test scores in the world; their
teachers give students a 15 minute break for physical activity for every 45 minutes of instruction. This
shows that, despite what many educators and policymakers think, more recess time improves school
performance. Another interesting fact I learned was that 85 percent of children are kinesthetic learners,

19. Ausiological Differences In Emotional Processing In...
Although there is a continuous debate, it is commonly assumed that emotion recognition difficulties
are present in individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) (Uljarevic Hamilton, 2013). In this
review several neuroimaging (fMRI) and electrophysiological (EEG) papers of facial processing are
reviewed in attempt to explore neurological differences in emotional processing in people with ASD
(Table.1)
There are relatively few studies carried out measuring electrophysiology, specifically the event related

current cortical activity, while fMRI subcortical activity e.g. amygdala. The use of eye tracking
devices in fMRI studies allow to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Predominantly all fMRI studies show reduced activity in amygdala area, area associated with
emotional processing, including FER (Ashwin, Baron Cohen, Wheelwright, O Riordan Bullmore,
2007; Pelphrey, Morris, McCarthy LaBar, 2007) and neutral face processing (Hadjikhani, Joseph,
Snyder Tager Flusberg, 2007). Reviewed Corbett et al. 2009 findings are consistent with the majority,
while Dalton et al. 2005, same as Monk et al., 2010 did found higher activation in amygdala (see table
3). Interestingly, Monk et al. 2010, to insure participants attended to faces, did use an attention cueing
paradigm (Monk et al., 2010). Overall, evidence suggests that there is decreased automatic activation
of amygdala when emotional faces are processed, although there is a possibility of this be due to
diminished attention to faces (Harms, Martin Wallace, 2010).
Previously reported increase in attention load (Wang, Dapretto, Hariri, Sigman Bookheimer, 2004)
may help to explain the amount of variance in left amygdala activation between AS (52%) and control
group (3%) and right anterior fusiform, AS (56%) versus control group (22%) (Dalton et al., 2005).
Nevertheless, abnormalities in ASD during FER can be observed in variety of brain regions apart from
FG and amygdala e.g. cerebellum (Critchley et al., 2000), inferior frontal gyrus (Greimel et al., 2010),
orbito frontal and medial frontal cortices (Loveland, Steinberg, Pearson, Reddoch Mansour, 2008).

In order to understand the true problems with these plans in place, we must first discuss what these

CNAP, for short. The issue of cybersecurity is a very big one in the United States and President
Obama knows and understands the true importance of this issue. The CNAP discusses some of the
most important concerns over this topic and does the best it can to combat it with the best of its ability.
This plan includes things such as establishing a commission on enhancing national cybersecurity using
experts from outside the government, a proposal of a $3.1 billion dollar Information Technology
Modernization Fund to help modernize and replace old information about this subject in the
government, and invest close to $19 billion dollars for cybersecurity (The President s National

Literature reviews provide adequate supporting evidence for the evidence based practice (EBP)
process (Cowell, 2016). By using the information obtained from the literature review, that supports the

appropriate technique is necessary when searching for the right literature and evidence (Cowell,

22. Tortilla Flat By John Steinbeck
Tortilla Flat, by John Steinbeck is a humorous novel about a group of friends called the paisanos.
Tortilla Flat is just one of Steinbeck s many successful novels. Indeed, Steinbeck is said to be one of
the most influential of the twentieth century American writers (Williams). Tortilla Flat was a best
seller, and was awarded the Gold Medal of the Commonwealth Club of California in 1935 (Williams).
Steinbeck s successful writing career did not end with Tortilla Flat as Steinbeck went on to win the
Nobel Prize in Literature in 1962, making him one of only six American writers to win the Nobel
Prize in Literature
(Williams). Tortilla Flat is focused primarily upon a group of friends known as the paisanos. The
paisanos is made up of Danny, Pilon, Pablo, Jesus Maria, and Big Joe Portagee and spend most of
their time thieving, drinking, and avoiding work. However, in the beginning of the novel, the paisanos
easy going lifestyle is interrupted when Danny learns of his grandfather s death. Now, care free, easy
going Danny is the owner of the two houses left to him by his deceased grandfather. Becoming the
owner of two houses has quite an effect on Danny. In his novel, Tortilla Flat, Steinbeck, without
directly saying so, portrays Danny as showing signs of depression.

23. Acute Failure And Chronic Failure
CHF occurs when the heart is no longer able to adequately pump blood causing a decrease in nutrients
and oxygen to the body. The term CHF has widely been replaced by the terms acute failure and
chronic failure because not all types of heart failure are accompanied by pulmonary congestion.
However, in this pt s case, she suffered from severe edema and fluid build up in the lungs due to the
failure. CHF is generally precipitated by other cardiac related conditions including, HTN, CAD, and
past MIs, all of which are present in this pt s history (Lewis, Heitkemper, Dirksen, Bucher, Camera,

This transfer of ions is what generates the electrical impulse of the heart and causes the heart to act as
a single unit instead of individual cells (Marieb Hoehn, 2013). Cardiac conduction occurs because
there are gap junctions for ions to pass through and because of the heart s intrinsic conduction system,
which is composed of non contractile cardiac cells that are specifically designed to start and distribute
electric impulses through the cardiac cells so that depolarization and contractions are orderly and
sequential. The contractile cells sustain stable membrane resting potential when they are unstimulated,
however, the resting potential of the autorhythmic cells, that create the intrinsic conduction system, is
unstable and is constantly depolarizing, which is called pacemaker potentials and initiate the action
potential that causes the heart to contract (Marieb Hoehn, 2013). The pace maker potential occurs
because of the ion channels which causes hyperpolarization at the end of the action potentials. This
hyperpolarization causes the K+ channels to close while simultaneously opening the Na+ channels,
which allows an imbalance of K+ and Na+ to occur making the cardiac cells to become more positive.
When the pacemaker potential is reached at around

Personality plays an important role in very expect of our lives. Our job, relationship, career, income
everything has a connection between our personalities. It works like a wall for an individual so the
individual cannot go beyond this particular characteristics. There are 16 types of common personality
which can be described based on only four letters preferences. Two authors named duo Katharine
Cooks Briggs and Isabelle Myers Briggs explained different personality test which is supposed to tell
you if you are introverted or extraverted, intuitive or sensing, thinking or feeling and perceptive or
judgmental. For example, Each combination such as ISFJ or ESTP or ENTP represents different
characteristics, behaviors and preferences. I have taken the test to identify my four letter profile in
three different ways. On the first time it was ISFP meaning (). But on the second and third time it
turned into ISFJ. So I have granted ISFJ as my granted profile. The result shows many interesting
facts about me. It suggested that I am 41% Introvert, 31% Sensing, 41% Feeling and only 16%
Judging. It means I have moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion, moderate preference
of Sensing over Intuition, moderate preference of Feeling over Thinking and a slight preference of
Judging over Perceiving. The interesting fact is that I can not deny these facts about me. And it is good
to know that Mother Teresa was of the same type as me. ISFJs are one of the two types

The United States once had the largest economy in the entire world, and when there are problems with
the US economy shock waves can be felt all over the world. The global economy is inter connected on
several levels due to the amount of international trade which occurs. If the United States does not find
a way to manage its debt, or find a way to reduce the debt, it would increase the cost of finance for
business because of the increase in interest rates. This could lead to high inflation. The stock market
would also suffer badly as investors might feel that investing in the US market was too risky. This
would cause the stock markets to fall as investors would take their money to other countries, or invest

A London based Wall Street Journal reporter, Charles Forelle warned the enthusiasm over investing
will change dramatically if the shutdown continues, and especially if the U.S. government defaults on
its debt. European markets are currently the most susceptible, and any delay in the stabilizing the US
market will delay economic recovery there as well (Krugman, 1999). According to a senior
International Monetary Fund official, in case of a U.S. debt default the entire global economy will be
negatively affected, Stock markets crashes in many countries is a distinct possibility which will add to
the problems of the recession that most of the world is currently undergoing. More damaging could be
the failure to raise the debt ceiling which could cause a default in most economies is increasing
ambiguity to a still shaky global economy. Although the U.S. can probably sustain a short economic
shutdown, a prolonged one will seriously impair the financial system leading to the collapse of the
global economy. A major portion of the operations of the U.S government were shut down completely
after the Senate could not reach an agreement on government spending at the start of the new financial

26. Conception and Birth of Heroes in Greek Mythology Essay
Hero, the word strikes a universal chord making us think of exceptional and spectacular stories or
deeds that far surpass any common feat. To the Greeks and many other cultures, the birth of these
heroes is important. The birth of a hero sets them, apart often even before birth, from common mortals
in Greek mythology. Birth is the first of many major events in our lives, our entrance into the world
(Leeming). For heroes, that entrance must be as special as their lives will prove to be. A mundane birth
is simply not an option for a hero, whether by the machinations of the gods or prophecies from an
oracle, even the events surrounding their conception must be spectacular. From Perseus and Danaë to

Theseus, born of Aethra and Poseidon, grew up secretly in Troezen keeping him protected from those
who would harm him. Thus, claiming the items his father left him and setting out for Athens, he

was conceived when Zeus took the form of Alcmena s husband and lay with her. Her true husband lay
with her again later that night and she conceived twins. One would be born to her human husband, and
the other fathered by Zeus himself (Hamilton). Zeus bragged about his soon to be born son alerting
and infuriating Hera to Hercules existence. Hera was notorious for tormenting her husbands
illegitimate offspring since she couldn t harm Zeus outright for his infidelity (Hamilton). Hera
persuaded Eileithyia to slow Alcmena s labor in a fit of piqué, almost killing her (Hamilton). Alcmena
in fear of Hera s wrath gave her son to nature. Zeus (in some accounts Hermes) stole him away to
Olympus, where he suckled at Hera s breast while she lay sleeping, granting him immortality
(McLeish). When Hera awoke during the suckling she pushed Hercules away and the milk that
sprayed out formed the Milky Way (Leeming). Zeus took the infant and placed him back in his crib
before departing to Olympus again. Enraged Hera sent two massive serpents to kill Hercules and his

Although the program have not finished yet, I had a lot of memorable moments in America, and the

The first day at American High school is the first time in many years, I experience such exciting

shocked for hours. I had to move between classes, and had to study many subjects that I have never

not understand some of them at all. Language barrier was still an obstacle for me to conquer the
subjects. However, that was all difficulties that I have faced. Beside, there are a lot of interesting
things that I can explore at my school. School cafeteria offer a wide variety of not only delicious but
also nutritious food. I could also sit with my new friends and chat with them for half an hour. More
interestingly, I found a bottle of spicy ketchup at my first lunch, made by a Vietnamese company. It
was also my favourite sauce, so I felt really exciting to taste my country s flavour while studying
abroad. Lunch time has always been a great time until now and I hope my time in the cafeteria each
day could be longer. The beautiful smell and taste of food of my first lunch at CCA were so wonderful
that in the next days, they are the only things in my mind at the first four hours. However, it is not the

ideal Christian chastity, confronts some challenging and poignant issues before she heads off on her

30. The Mark Of The Dragonfly Theme Analysis
Themes are really important in books, and sometimes they can change. Some of the themes in the
novel The Mark of the Dragonfly are: when difficult things happen, you have to get through them, if
you put your mind and effort into what you are doing you will accomplish it, and, always persist no
matter how hard the challenge is. I will explain how they change over time and how they are different.
A theme that occurred towards the beginning of the novel is When difficult things happen, you have to
get through them. An example is Piper s dad died and she had no say in it whatsoever. He sent letters
and money every week until about a year ago, when he died. (Page 66). This shows that even if Piper
wanted to or did not want to accept her dad s death, she had to either way. She had to persist and
accept that she had no one but herself. Another example is when Micah got hit on the head with some
caravan debris. Piper noticed that Micah got hit in the head and that he was bleeding, Piper was not
going to just stand there and cry for Micah. Piper got up and tried looking for help. This shows that
Piper put everything aside and was not going to stop for anything until she got help for Micah.
Another example is Piper needed a way for Anna to get to Noveen, so Piper and Anna broke into the
train. It s still here. Gasping, Piper skidded to a stop and changed directions, heading for the station.
Come on, we re getting on that train. (Page 78). That shows Piper had a problem that

31. Taoism By Lao Tzu
Anette Dopico
PHI 2010
Professor Jacob
March 18, 2018
Taoism is a philosophy which also means a way of life. Lao Tzu started this, he lived a little before
Confucius, about 600 BC. Tao means the path or way . Lao Tzu worked as a a record keeper. He
believed that happiness was for people to just go with the flow , meaning to let things go about on
their own rather than forcing the situations. According to Confucius, each person should act with
virtue in all social matters; family, community, state, and kingdom, to ensure unity. Lao Tzu thought it
was extremely wrong for people to fight in wars. He was also extremely against a government making
up rules and regulations on how people should do things in their life. Taoism is against anything with
certain regulations, even a food diet.
Lao Tzu thinks people should make their own decisions in situations that they experience in life. To
follow Taoism is to understand who you are yourself and everything else will come naturally. By
doing nothing one could accomplish everything. Don t go against what you have been faced, instead
go through it and learn from it, and never force anything because by doing that, you are not doing
anything good for yourself. Another key point of Tzu s writing is: we need to be in touch with our real
selves. We spend a great deal of time worrying ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lao Tzu liked to compare people to certain parts of nature or virtues. There are almost half a billion of
Daoist s in the world. Lao Tzu s philosophy is all about learning how to live with harmony. We have
to make more time for ourselves, we have to worry less about the world and experience the world
more to be able to take it all in. Certain things happen on their own and cannot be forced, like grieving
gaining knowledge, developing relationships. Lao Tzu says we cannot be too preoccupied with
anxiety and worries because we will miss many opportunities and experiences that life has to

In 1978 on the campus of Florida State University a study was done in which the results would seem
obvious to us today. If you were a female or male on campus during this time you may have been
approached and told I have been noticing you around campus. I find you to be attractive. Would you
go to bed with me tonight? If you were a male in the study you probably would have thought it was
truly a gift from God. But it is simply too good to be true. The experiment was led by a psychologist
named Russell Clark who was very interested in relationships and the differences between males and
females. Clark was able to get his students from his psychology class to help him find out some
answers. The experiment was designed to find which gender ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This isn t surprising because most people are probably thinking why not? It could be fun.
However, once the questions became racier the difference between men s and women s responses was
highlighted. In the experiment held only six percent of women said yes to a visit to a random man s
apartment, when about sixty nine percent of men were eager to say yes. This also doesn t seem to be a
surprise because most guys feel safer going to a random girl s apartment then vice versa. When the
third question was asked and casual sex was requested, no women said yes, but about seventy five
percent of men accepted the proposal without second thought. The men who declined the offer all
gave an excuse to justify the rejection such as stating they are married or currently is in a relationship.
Women, on the contrary, denied the requests with quick responses such as What is wrong with you? or
leave me alone. The results show that women become highly grossed out when asked the third
question and not one felt the urge to say yes.
The results of the experiment are not too shocking because it commonly acknowledged that men have
greater sexual desires and demands than that of females. Clark had some speculations when the results
of the experiment were developed citing reasons why the numbers vary so much between

35. Descriptive Essay On Beauty
I had to decorate my head with flowers and was looking exquisite. My father had prohibited me from
using scented perfumes. I also did not have slightest of interest in that. I have been brought up in
nature. Where does beauty live? Is it in jewelry or clothes, in the body, in soul or in the eye of the
beholder? I was wondering.
Four chariots named Rug, Yarju, Sam and Atharva were constructed. The great father Brahma sat on
Rug. Twayi and Anwikshika were sitting in Yarju. Varta and Niti were in Atharva. Yarju was decorated
with beautiful flowers. A drape of flowers covered the front of the chariot. The fourth chariot Atharva
was appearing like a bouquet of red flowers.
I sat in the chariot Sam, which was decorated with vines and fragrant flowers. In front of me, a
garland of white jasmine was hanging. I was bathing with the fragrance of the flowers. My whole
body, my mind, and my soul were all filled with fragrance.
No one could see me from outside the chariot. But, I could see through the vines and thorns. I did not
know the logic behind bringing me to heaven like a prisoner. I was sitting with suppressed curiosity,
but was enjoying the scenery of the Indraloka.
Even though heaven s beauty amazed me, my mind was thinking about my motherland, the earth. My
playground, the elegant forest on the foothills of the Himalayas was no way less beautiful. I could
never accept that my unique mother land is less prosperous than the kingdom of Indraloka. After
attending godhood, it was natural to become a lover of luxury. Hence, the kingdom of gods was so
much a show off. If my motherland was a selfless hermit, the heaven was a hedonist beauty. If the
Indraloka was so attractive, then how attractive Indra would be?
After the discussion, I was supposed to come out of the chariot as if for a display. That time I could
see without any hindrance and Indradeva could also see me.
I remembered my first encounter with Indra. He was visiting my father in the ashram. His chariot was
in the garden and I sat in it pretending to navigate it. As soon as I saw him returning to the chariot, I
got scared. I slipped and fell while descending from the chariot and twisted my feet. I did not cry.

There comes a point and time in history when certain individuals excel and stand out above their
peers. They fight for humanity and justice as if the hope for tomorrow has started to slip away. They
personally take blame and are ridiculed for their beliefs but this does not hamper their efforts as it only
gives them more ambition to be heard. As you will see in this paper there is one individual that not
only stood for human rights but he stood for a culture that has been repressed for centuries. Born on
February 23, 1868 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts William Edward Burghardt Du Bois s official
job titles were to include educator, civil rights activist and journalist (Bolden, 2008). He was known as

This story, while hard to believe because of the scenario does represent what he stood behind all of his
years. His story is a real basic psychological theory that so simple to follow and understand. His
ideology was that it comes to the choice of the individual to discriminate, hate and be racists because
it is a personal choice not a biological one. His journalistic background enabled him to use his writing
talents to help try and shift the socio and politico economic settings that had been long in place in our
society.
As a skilled writer/scientist he wrote about a study called the, Suppression that studied the slave trade
and in 1896 it was published allowing Du Bois to speak to the world about ending racism and how
that evil, if stopped, could have prevented the civil war (Lewis, 1993). He was able to gather
documented material to build a very impressive study on how this era had become so damaging to the
American culture and added fuel to racism that was now a commonplace. Another great achievement
that Du Bois had accomplished was the writing of his study, The Philadelphia Negro , in which he was
asked to study the Seventh Ward. This area was the poorest of Philadelphia and the city was blaming
the African Americans that were living there for giving the city a bad reputation (Bolden, 2008). The

Pride and Prejudice is a novel fixated on marriage: throughout, all the action occurs within scenes
devoted to either the talk of marriage or actual proposals. This cannot be expounded more than within
the very first line: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good
fortune must be in want of a wife . Here, at the beginning of the novel, a definite, though somewhat
sarcastic, statement introduces the main theme of the novel marriage and, possibly more importantly,
not love.
The stark divide between love and marriage shown right the way through cannot be comprehended
fully by the twenty first century reader: in today s society marriage and love are mutually exclusive

This is the reason both proposals are declined: Elizabeth is of a mind that she will not marry for social
security or for money only love could tempt her into matrimony. The first proposal is from Mr Collins,
a man to whom Elizabeth was not even his first choice; Jane, the eldest and most beautiful, was his
first fancy, but when informed that she had been privately engaged, he swiftly switches to Elizabeth,
who is equally next to Jane in birth and beauty . His introduction to Elizabeth is not a pleasant one,
although he is too ignorant to notice; she finds him a conceited, pompous, narrow minded, silly man .
Her observation is quite correct, and illustrated to the greatest affect in his proposal speech.
Collins does not seem to possess his own conception of love: he intends to get married merely because
it is the particular advice and recommendation of Lady Catherine de Bourgh, his patron and first love .
He even goes so far as to explain this to Elizabeth within his proposal; Mr Collins you must marry,
Chuse...a gentle woman for my [Lady Catherine s] sake , showing his complete inaptitude to
understand the feelings of others. No mutual acquaintance and love between each other was needed.
Marriage, to Collins, was only a right thing for every clergyman in easy circumstances . Apart from
explaining in his highly verbose manner that he is marrying because he was told to, he

41. Kazuo Ishiguro s Discursive Narrative Style In The Remains
Kazuo Ishiguro s discursive narrative style serves to construct a subtle connection between Ishiguro
himself and his protagonist, Stevens. An incisive analysis of The Remains said by, Critic Meghan
Marie Hammond, which pertinently suggests that the novel in its intricacy has an elusive form.
However, it should be noted that beneath this seemingly ambiguous form, there is a precision and an
underlying order, to Ishiguro s use of narrative style in The Remains. In this world of the novel, there
is a structure in the evidently arbitrary form of the novel, which provides an artistic sophistication to
the narrative style. Ishiguro seems to have an aesthetic intention when delineating his protagonist in
this fashion to the modern reader. The everlasting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is clearly noted when Ishiguro presents Stevens as having an awkward consternation when
confronting his feelings for Ms. Kenton. His struggle to contain his dormant feelings for Ms.Kenton is
seen when he misreads her letter highlighting that [she has] broken down and without a home but he
admits that [he] might have read between the lines . One should also note that his split subjectivity
rather than ethical imperceptiveness is the source of his unreliability. This is due to the fact that
Stevens is the conscious source of much of the information that we gain. This split subjectivity of
Stevens is propelled by his inner turmoil. Stevens s blindness to his employer s faults glorifying him
as a noble and a loyal man and takes up his master s moral standing as his anchor to champion. But
this view of his flawed and tainted when we later we see him distancing and denouncing himself from
Lord Darlington, like the disciple Peter who denies Christ in the New Testament Book of Mark. This
is exemplified when he says It is hardly my fault if his lordship s life ...turned out [as] a sad waste .
This encapsulates his inner struggle which forces him to evade certain truths in order to maintain
certain myths about his reality and his

42. Nonformity Is A Form Of Conformity
Throughout history, many have tried to break away from society s norms in an attempt to live life
more fully. Examples include religious, government, and cultural revolutions where people group
themselves based on their beliefs in order to create wide scale change. But I question just how many
people in these groups
really believe in their movements. By no means am I negating the sincerity of
the thousands who participated in the peace movement of the 1960s or the punk movement of the late
1970s in fact, I have come to embrace many of the ethos and philosophies of these cultural
movements. However, I am saddened by the number of young people I see who seem to believe that
they are punk because of the kind of shoes or brand of clothing they wear. I see it every day here at
Alpena high school when I walk in the door in the morning. The types of clothing that people wear
and the styles that they want to have put them in what social group they belong to . As you can see
conformity has been around for a long time, since humans have called Earth their home actually but is
non conformity a form of conformity? Read on to find out that yes, non conformity is a form of
conformity.
Today it seems as if the original philosophies of these groups have been forgotten. Their historical
records were dirtied over time by the stereotypes of non participant generations and the bias of the
media. Youth today seems to look at such movements through commercialized lenses, allowing their
understanding of the world to be altered by what is in, popular, or on television. For example if you
were on a road trip with your grandparents and you were in the car and you flipped to the most recent
rap station there is they would look at you differently than if you turned the dail to the music that they
grew up with. Whenever I am with my grandparents they always question me on weather or not I
actually listen to their generations music because of the steryotype that teens listen to only fast beat
music that you can barely understand. To me, the clothing and physical or material elements specific
to a certain counterculture movement should emphasize its beliefs rather than replace them. Can we
really be free if we are worried about

43. Berkshire Castle Research Paper
Warwick castle is known as one of the most haunted castles in Great Britain. Warwick is a medieval
castle built by William the Conqueror in 1068. It is the county town of Warwickshire, England.
Warwick Castle, built of the very centuries, cannot be expected to alter with time s brief hours and
weeks at least, with so few of them as fall to one poor mortal s lot. From visit to visit, I find it as
unchanged as the multiplication table, said Katharine Lee Bates. Warwick castle is known as one of
the most haunted castles in Great Britain steeped in folklore and tradition. Its oldest ghost story is the
slaughtering of a gigantic cow called the Dun Cow by Guy of Warwick. The Dun Cow produced an
endless supply of milk, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Grey Lady, however, whose origin is wrapped in mystery, has been seen by many members of the
family up to the present day. The Grandmother of the present Earl was always seeing her, while many
servants have borne witness to catching a glimpse of her furtive figure flitting about the long
corridors. Doors open without reason, the Grey Lady appears and then passes on, and when the
astonished spectator goes to find her there is nothing. Evening Post wrote. The Grey Lady today can

castle had fallen into a state of decay. From the time he got the castle until his death, Greville devoted
his time and fortune its restoration. You are able to hear creaks, groans, and muttering from dark
doorways. It is said today that Greville still lingers on in

44. Saddam Hussein s Invasion Of Iraq
When Saddam Hussein refused to leave Iraq, the United States and allied forces launched an attack on
the morning of March 20, 2003. The invasion itself only lasted 21 days, concluding with the capture
of the Iraqi capital of Bagdad by American forces. Massive air strikes across the country and against
Iraqi command and control threw the defending army into chaos, preventing the Iraqi military from
making an effective resistance. The main body of the coalition forces pushed hard and fast across Iraq
meeting little to no resistance. Iraqi president at the time, Saddam Hussein and his central leadership
went into hiding as the coalition military forces completed the occupancy of the country. On May 1,

45. Electronic Text Essay
Electronic Text
Many people will argue that history began with the advent of the written word. Before books, history
was passed by word of mouth and was often lost or altered as it went from generation to generation
down through the years. For many years now our civilization has enjoyed books, journals,
newspapers, magazines, and many other types of writing. We use these literary tools to record our
lives, to invent stories from the imagination so powerful that they make writers into millionaires, and
to make news available to the general public. Today, in our technological age, a new form of literary
expression is taking place. With the invention of the internet and the trend towards more of the
population using it as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although I personally love the smell of a new book, I agree that there must be a better way to publish
these books. Perhaps electronic text is that way. Rogers certainly believes so. The Internet presents all
the elements needed for a true reinvention and renaissance of book publishing (Rogers). If books were
distributed on the web, paper would not be wasted, and publishers would not be taking a risk because
the copies not sold would never have actually been printed they simply would never have been
downloaded. I believe that the future of e books is an exciting area to explore.
There are others who see e books as more threatening than exciting. They believe that e books will
one day snuff out current book publishing and that all books will have to be read off of a computer. It
is not only books that those offended by electronic text are worried about. They are worried about
newspapers and periodicals as well. Nicholas Baker is one of those offended. He writes in his book
Double Fold: Libraries and the Assault on Paper about an event he heard of back in 1999. The British
library sold off most of their newspapers in a blind auction (Baker). These newspapers were not in bad
condition as the libraries claimed; they were perfectly preserved. Many librarians, however, have
managed to convince themselves, and us, that if a newspaper was printed after 1870 or so, it will
inevitably

46. Irrevocable Living Trust
As the baby boomer generation is starting to age and retire, there will be an increase for retirement and
estate planning services. While some of these retirees will find this not important, some will take
action. Children will start to help parents plan for their aging needs and assisting with getting their
parent s affairs in order. Although, most people between the age of 50 and 70 are more concerned with
watching how much money will be available upon retirement, they will have to seriously start talking
about uncomfortable things such as aging issues, such as failing health, unexpected death and
diminishing mental capacity. As uncomfortable as these things are to talk about, it is most imperitive
to think about what if scenarios ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

47. Mass Media Bias
Many people today rely on television and social media to stay up to date on current events. However,
are those people really staying informed by what they re reading or watching? Is the person they re
watching the news acting biased? What if someone doesn t pay attention to the news at all? With the
near endless amount of content on televisions and computers, many people have alternatives to
watching the news and informing themselves. Today, it is imperative that, as a society, we inform
ourselves ad stay up to date on the activities of our government. How is it beneficial to society if we
are ignoring current events and issues that could affect them? Many don t realize how easily accessible
news today is. Today, six corporations control ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only around 4 out of every 10 eligible voters voted. Not even a one third of those voters were
probably young adults. Those young adults who just turned eighteen should be willing to exercise
their right to vote. Why waste that right? Only around 4 out of every 10 eligible voters voted. How do
you expect any sort of change if you don t vote? Many of the people you see complain about the
results of an election probably didn t vote. What would these elections have looked like if there were a
60% turnout or even a 70% turnout? Some of those elections would probably have a different
outcome. Social media can also play a vital role in influencing the political decisions of its users.
Multiple studies have been conducted measuring Facebook s impact on young people. Some suggest
that young Internet users are more influenced by other young people online. Others suggest young
voters seem to trust older users evaluations more (Lee). People who intend to vote need to understand
that they have to think for these issues themselves. There is nothing wrong with discussing these
issues with others online, but why constantly let others decide for you? Politicians have to use social
