Topic: Revision before the test.
LAST OBSERVATION REPORT:
Teacher Educator: Estela N. Braun
Student Teacher: Camila Viñati ACCOMPANIED BY Belèn Escudero.
I should mention that in spite of having a terrible flu, Belén went to school to
accompany her partner in one of the last revision lessons. This shows her
commitment with both, her partner, and the pupils in her class.
The lesson was taught following a very good plan which is attached to this
feedback, together with photographs of the lesson.
It was the lesson before the test and trainees were able to fulfil their purposes
which included the revision of vocabulary, functions and a CLIL project based on
healthy and unhealthy habits.
Camila started the lesson calling students’ attention with her powerful voice. At
times, her strong stance may seem a bit authoritarian or bossy. Try to improve.
“Silence” with more polite expressions such as Can you be quiet, please?
Respect for children brings about good behaviour and helps build a good rapport
with them.
Camila showed a good command of controller and facilitator’s roles. The lesson
started with a “hello song” routine.
What went well:
Camila Started the lesson stating the objectives: revision for the test.Then, they
started the first activity: the dice game The group of fourth grade children were
engaged and they worked all the time.
Camila’s role as assessor was great and she checked each activity orally and
then she asked children to copy. Meanwhile Belen helped a girl who said she did
not remember anything. The quality of her support was just excellent.
In the second activity they worked with the book, page 28, a reading
comprehension exercise. It was complex but children could do it. Belén, as a
pedagogical partner wrote the answers on the board.
Perhaps the translation for THERE IS/ THERE ARE as HAY/HABER was not
necessary. Both trainees monitored the class and provided suitable scaffolding
at all times.
For the third activity there was an extra copy with guided writing about monsters.
It was excellent to revise the adjectives studied during the unit. Camila monitored
the class all the time.
There was a good balance of macroskills: there was l reading practice with an
emphasis on third person personal information. Trainees used a communicative
language approach at all times.
Management of timing was also very good. For the last activity they took children
to the yeard to play twister with a review game. Both trainees worked together to
get them organized by numbers, It was a TPR activity and children loved it.
To sum up, I think this was an excellent lesson. Timing was excellent and both
trainees planned an effective lesson plan to revise all the contents children had
studied during the didactic sequence.
The activities were varied, mainly games, and children could show how much
they had learnt. Assessment through oral activities was great.
Congratulations on your great effort and improvement during your
practicum.

  • 1. PRACTICE II, DIDACTICS OF ELT. Prof. Estela N. Braun. PRACTICALS First term- 2018. Assistant teachers: Prof. Vanesa Cabral y Prof. Luján Ramos. Date: October,30th. School: School N°6 Ricardo Gutierrez Teacher in charge: Ana Gomez Garcia Trainees: Viñati Camila, Escudero Belén Courses: 4th D and 4th C. Timetable Fit: Tuesday 4th D (13:15-14:00) 4th C (14:05-15:50) Course Book: “Follow your trail 1” Topic: Revision before the test. LAST OBSERVATION REPORT: Teacher Educator: Estela N. Braun Student Teacher: Camila Viñati ACCOMPANIED BY Belèn Escudero. I should mention that in spite of having a terrible flu, Belén went to school to accompany her partner in one of the last revision lessons. This shows her commitment with both, her partner, and the pupils in her class. The lesson was taught following a very good plan which is attached to this feedback, together with photographs of the lesson. It was the lesson before the test and trainees were able to fulfil their purposes which included the revision of vocabulary, functions and a CLIL project based on healthy and unhealthy habits. Camila started the lesson calling students’ attention with her powerful voice. At times, her strong stance may seem a bit authoritarian or bossy. Try to improve. “Silence” with more polite expressions such as Can you be quiet, please? Respect for children brings about good behaviour and helps build a good rapport with them.
  • 2. Camila showed a good command of controller and facilitator’s roles. The lesson started with a “hello song” routine. What went well: Camila Started the lesson stating the objectives: revision for the test.Then, they started the first activity: the dice game The group of fourth grade children were engaged and they worked all the time. Camila’s role as assessor was great and she checked each activity orally and then she asked children to copy. Meanwhile Belen helped a girl who said she did not remember anything. The quality of her support was just excellent. In the second activity they worked with the book, page 28, a reading comprehension exercise. It was complex but children could do it. Belén, as a pedagogical partner wrote the answers on the board. Perhaps the translation for THERE IS/ THERE ARE as HAY/HABER was not necessary. Both trainees monitored the class and provided suitable scaffolding at all times. For the third activity there was an extra copy with guided writing about monsters. It was excellent to revise the adjectives studied during the unit. Camila monitored the class all the time.
  • 3. There was a good balance of macroskills: there was l reading practice with an emphasis on third person personal information. Trainees used a communicative language approach at all times. Management of timing was also very good. For the last activity they took children to the yeard to play twister with a review game. Both trainees worked together to get them organized by numbers, It was a TPR activity and children loved it. To sum up, I think this was an excellent lesson. Timing was excellent and both trainees planned an effective lesson plan to revise all the contents children had studied during the didactic sequence. The activities were varied, mainly games, and children could show how much they had learnt. Assessment through oral activities was great. Congratulations on your great effort and improvement during your practicum.
