The document describes the process used to create a movie poster. Key steps included using the dodge tool to make the eyes look possessed, burning the area around the eyes to make them stand out, enhancing scars with the brush tool, shading the poster and character with the burn tool to create a dark setting, and adding cracked text to the title using a thin paint brush.

2. • The first thing I had to do is make the eyes possessed using
the DODGE TOOL
• The possessed eyes makes the poster more
effective and creates more relevance to the
plot of the trailer as the actual character
becomes possessed.
• I have then used
the burn tool to go
make the area
around the eye
darker. This will
make the
possessed white
eyes stand out
more.
3. • Then I have use the brush tool to make the scars more
significant and make them more stand out.
• While filling in the scars I also change the opacity to have
control over the amount I put on them.
4. • Then I have used the burn tool to shade in around the poster. This will
make the main character stand out more. It will also create a dark setting.
• The colour black symbolises death, evil, and mystery so I wanted it to
associated with the possessed scene.
• Then I have also changed the
opacity of the burn tool to
much less as I wanted to use it
on the characters face.
• The brownish skin suited the
red and black better.
• I have then used the dodge tool
to go over some areas on face
such as the cheek and forehead
because the burn tool has made
it too dark.
5. Title
• First I had to made a standard ‘DEPARTED’
title using the Impact font and exaggerate
with the size.
• I have then selected the brush tool and
changed the shape to make the title look
different rather than just a huge blank text.
• For the other text I have done the same
thing, just placed it in the centre.
• For the crack effects I have picked the
thinnest paint brush and started drawing
with the colour red.
