3. What is difference between titles/credits
They are different because of the background
colours as the purge has the colours of the
american flag and the inner demons has colours
that remind us of hell because of the bright red
and black.
Examples:
1: The Purge
2: Inner Demons
4. What do they say/what are they about?
THE PURGE THE RITE THE STRANGERS
Release Date Phrases to catch attention The Title
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY INNER DEMONS OCULUS
Locations that are releasing
the film.
Ending credits
Production Companies
5. Who? (who and what are they about and why is this?)
•These are the actors and other people who are
involved in the film such as the director and
producer, actors are famous which means they
will attract audience.
Inner Demons
•Facebook pages are there for marketing
because its a popular social network so
more and more people will share it.
The Purge
•This credit also saves a lot of space
because so many names will fill up
the trailer full of credits so its easier
to put them as one.
Inner Demons
6. Why? (what is their purpose and why
are they there)
-The release date
The release date is for the audience to
know when they are able to watch the
film.
The Purge
-The Ending Credits
They are there because they include the actors
names and other people who will be involved in
the film, this is because names usually attract
audience.
Inner Demons
-Quotes
Quotes in a horror film ususally include something
creepy so along with their fonts and effects they
will be there to create thrills and fit the purpose of
a horror.
7. When? (when in the sequence? how close together/how far
apart/how long do they last etc)
•Social media appears at the very end of a trailer.
•Quotes from films appear every few seconds.
•The Production/Distribution companies usually are a few minutes in the trailer.
8. Where is the title placed in the sequence? why?
• Titles are usually a few seconds before the trailer finishes because producers leave the best at the end, it
will make an effect to the audience especially in the horror genre as incidental music and effective
animation is added with it.
9. How do they fit in with the narrative structure
and narrative enigmas
• Trailers will always include non-linear narratives therefore credits do not have a
specific order but appear at different times.
•Narrative enigma’s are shown below. The way the narrative enigma’s are fitted are
between faded transitions as the trailer carries on, thye just go with the flow.
10. How do they fit in with genre/subgenre
•This title fits the subgenre by the
colours (red) because red indicates
danger and blood.
•It also has an glowing effect so it
reflects souls, this fits because
demons are involved with souls
•The title fits to the genre here because
it includes a cross which is religious.
•This credit fits its genre because it has a black
background colour which indicates mystery.
The movement of the credit is slow along with
slow pace scoremusic.
