Convection in trailer
- The audience will be introduced to characters and surroundings
- The trailer will ends with the shot when main character, Kacey is kidnapped by her
boyfriend. This situation will link to fact that her boyfriend has psychological illness.
- There will be two locations – urban and isolated (kind of forest)
- Character, Jonathan, will be introduced as normal person, who's behaviour dramatically
change
- The trailer will show two period of time – before and after Jonathan’s diagnosis
- Two types of music shows different times: good time and time when everything
changed.

4. Convection Use Develop Challenge Was there an inspiration from real? How?
1. MES
Main characters has
normal clothes
Normal clothes represents him as normal person. This shows that mentally ill
people looks the same as health people.
2. CHARACTER
One of the main
characters is mentally ill,
as this is genetic in his
family. However his
illness wasn’t visible at
the beginning as it
developed over the time.
I took inspiration from ‘side effect;, where main character has psychological
problems and her behaviour change after she starts to take drugs.
I challenged this convection as usually psychological movies involves people,
who are unstable mentally, because of their past experience. It’s rare that
character is mentally ill, because of family genetic.
Moreover I challenged this convection as character who is mentally ill is
portrayed by people around him as normal person.
3. LOCATIONS
The scenes from the
trailer will take place in
the park, however not
only in one place.
In my trailer I will use two locations.
The urban place in the park, where is a lot of people. I chose this place,
because it is common in psychological movies that actions takes place in urban
places. Also I chose this because there will take place scenes, where main
characters are happy together and they enjoy to spend their time in the park.
Moreover I will use also this location to scene where Jonathan reads his
diagnosis, to show that he is not isolated from mainstream.
The second location in the park which I chose is kind of forest, where is a lot of
trees and not many people. This place look like isolated.
So overall I will develop this convection as locations will be changing from
urban to isolated places.
Also I took inspiration from ‘gone’ , where antagonist imprisoned his victim in
the forest

4. LIGHTENING
There will be only
daylight, because all the
scenes will take place
during the day
Lighting is challenges as even there is use of day time light,
(which is natural light, sun) something is going to happen to
main character, Kacey. This is challenged because daylight is
associated with normality and safety. People doesn’t think that
something terrible can happen at this time.
5. EDITING
Mostly medium pace,
however there is also
slow monition and fast
pace to crate a tension.
Moreover Montague is
from the time when main
characters are happy
together and when
everything, dramatically
change.
In most psychological movies they use medium pace to show
realism. In my trailer this is important as mentally ill character is
portrayed as normal, so through medium pace I support this
idea.
Moreover through slow motion and fast pace there is a tension,
which makes trailer more interesting
Also Montague from good and bad time shows how characters
change and what they feel.
3. MUSIC
There are two different
types of music and voice
over
There are two types of music :
One is used when main character are together in relationship.
Music is happy and provides good energy to shows that
everything is fine.
The second music is used when Jonathan reads diagnosis from
the doctor to show that from this time everything change for
him and for his girlfriend. The music is tensed, so the audience
will feel this change.
There will be also voice over , which will help audience to
understand what’s going on.
