There are three types of joints: synarthrosis (immovable), diarthrosis (movable), and amphiarthrosis (slightly movable). Joints can also be classified structurally as fibrous, cartilaginous, or synovial. Fibrous joints include sutures, syndesmoses, and interosseous membranes. Cartilaginous joints include synchondroses, symphyses, and epiphyseal cartilage.
