Summary: Under the general direction of the Director of Microlending, the Loan Analyst is responsible for the
development, review, underwriting and maintenance of loans in accordance with the established philosophy,
policies and procedures of the Lending Department and the Loan Board.
Essential Duties:
 Markets loan programs to target market through presentations, campusing, and attending events
 Efficiently processes complete application packages, including screening packages against product
 guidelines and required documents, entering and processing loans in system, gathering all required
 documents, and closing out applications (approvals or declines) within target timeframe
 Underwrites potential applicants through analyzing credit reports, tax returns, financial statements and
business plans to assess loan feasibility
 Make decisive loan recommendations and clearly articulate and make a compelling case for loan
 decision to appropriate approval authorities
 Conducts Annual Review and site visit of active borrowers.
 Other duties as assigned or needed
 Customarily and regularly exercises independent judgment.
Qualifications and Experience:
 Have a passion for Microfinance
 Bachelors degree in related field (finance, business admin, etc.) or equivalent work experience of 5-7 years
 2+ years of professional experience in loan packaging and financial analysis
 Strong knowledge in general business practices and business financing
 Computer proficiency in spreadsheets and word processing in a windows environment
 Must have ability to develop proforma statements, cash flows and credit analysis
 Provide excellent customer service to clients from diverse cultural backgrounds
 Strong organizational and effective communication skills
 A problem solver who works effectively in a high pace, team environment
 Spanish/English speaker strongly preferred
