Definition
The Simple Past is a verbal tense of the
Past that is used to describe those actions that took
place at a given time in the past. Past tense and
regular and irregular verbs
In the first case, they form their Simple Past by
adding the ED terminus to the infinitive, whereas the
irregular ones are named because they do not follow
a certain pattern and in this case they must be
studied individually.
caracteristics1-) Its
essential
characteristic
is that the
main verb of
the sentence
is always in
the past.
2-) Indicates
an action that
was
performed at
a specific
time in the
past.
3-)Is composed by simple
elements, therefore it is
only used in its
composition:
S + V2 + C. Where S is
equal to the subject of
the sentence; V2, is the
verb of the conjugated
sentence in the past;
And, C, is the
complement of the
sentence.
4-) In the
complement can
be used, in an
optional way,
expressions that
determine time,
although the verb
is the one will
determine if the
sentence is in the
past or not.
3-) Is the only
grammatical
time that uses
past tense.

verbsArrest
