2. SIMPLE PAST.
It is a verb tense that is used to describe actions that have happened in a
previous time and that have already ended. The simple past regularly has time
expressions that allude to the past, for example yesterday, last night / week / month /
year /, how long ago ...?

3. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SIMPLE PAST.
1. Indicates an action that was performed in the past.
2. It is the only verb tense whose verbs are in the past tense
3. Its structure is simple: S + V (In the past) + C

4. USES OF THE SIMPLE PAST.
It is used in four situations:
1. When you want to talk about an action that happened in the past and ended in it,
the time in which the action occurred is indicated. Example:
- I played soccer yesterday.
- last week I read a book.
2. When talking about an action that was habitual in the past. For example:
- I played all day when I was a kid.
- When my cousin was young, he ate dirt.

5. USES OF THE SIMPLE PAST.
3. To talk about events connected in a chronological sequence of time in the past.
Example:
- Yesterday I got home, cooked and went to see a movie.
4. to talk about actions that happened in the past over a long period of time. Example:
- I was in prison for 3 years.
- She lived with me for 4 months.

6. TYPES OF VERBS.
When Affirmed in the past simple, there are two types of verbs, regular and irregular.:
• Regular verbs: when the verb is regular, the affirmations are constructed using
the verb in infinitive and the ending “ed” placed (or “d” is if the verb ends in e):
- I listened to music yesterday.
- She played last night.
- He used a bike to go out.
• Irregular Verbs: When the verb is irregular, it changes the way it is written:
