The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) was established in 1969 to advance India's space technology and research. Some of ISRO's key accomplishments include launching India's first satellite, Aryabhata, in 1975, launching the Rohini satellite which was the first with an Indian-made launch vehicle in 1980, launching an unmanned mission to the moon called Chandrayaan in 2008 to map the lunar surface, and launching the Mars Orbiter Mission in 2014, making India the first nation to reach Mars on its first attempt. ISRO has also launched over 100 satellites using its launch vehicles, including launching 31 satellites at once, 28 of which belonged to other countries.

● This was found by Dr.Vikram Sarabhai in 15 august
1969

2. CONTRIBUTION OF ISRO
● Aryabhata was the first Indian satellite by ISRO
which was launched on april 19 1975
● The year 1980 is marked the launch of Rohini, which
was the first satellite to be successfully in the orbit as
an Indian made launch vehicle under the guidance of
APJ Abdul kalam

3. ● In the year 2008, the Second mission to moon was
sent by India by the launch of chandrayaan to study
about the topography covering the earth
● ISRO launched 104 satellites using a single rocket
from spaceport in Andhra Pradesh
● ISRO launched GSLV -FO4S in the year 2017.It
helped to provide one of the biggest communication
networks in South Asia.

4. ● In 2014 India was able to reach mars successfully as
it was first attempt
● ISRO successfully launched Mars Orbiter
Mission(MOM) which is considered as one of the
biggest achievements of ISRO
● In the year 2012, ISRO launched its 100th space
mission and used PCLY-C21 rocket which placed
two satellites in the Earth‘s orbit

● Once ISRO launched 31 satellites, in which 28 satellites
were from other country
● India has the lowest cost for sending satellites into space
by ISRO
● ISRO is ranked 5th in the world for contributing India
as well as other Countries
