This document discusses a study on the effect of blast loads on multi-storey buildings using time history analysis. A G+4 storey reinforced concrete building is subjected to blast loads from charges weighing 100, 300, and 500kg placed at standoff distances of 30, 40, and 50m. Nonlinear time history analysis is carried out using ETABS 2016 software. The response of the structure is examined in terms of displacement, velocity, acceleration, storey drift, beam forces, column forces, and storey displacement. The results show that when the blast source is closer and the charge weight is higher, the building response is more critical.
Effect of Impulsive Loads on G+3 RCC BuildingIJMERJOURNAL
ABSTRACT: The study of response of structures subjected to impulse loads is of utmost importance in civil engineering. These are the forces with large magnitude that act for relatively very short interval of time. These forces are dynamic in nature that may impart out of plane deformations to the building and hence the stability of the building may be under scrutiny. Bomb blast is the best example for impulsive load. In this paper an attempt has been made to determine the response of a G+3 RCC building modeled in STAAD Pro subjected to triangular, rectangular and sinusoidal impulsive force for 0.5 seconds with maximum magnitude of 100kN. The effect of such loads on front, roof and side surface of the building was studied. It was observed that the critical deformations were obtained on the front and roof surface of the building. The variation of deformation along the height of the building were parabolic in nature with maximum deformations at the top surface of the building. It was also concluded that sufficient reinforcement should be provided in beam, columns and slabs to impart ductility to the building against impulse loads..

Abstract: Brick masonry infill although considered as non-structural element largely affects the strength, stiffness and ductility of the reinforced concrete frames during the application of lateral loads due to wind or earthquake. Contained masonry refers here to the brick masonry which is used as infill in a reinforced concrete frame, wound round with 8mm diameter mild steel wires in vertical and horizontal directions and stitched to the brick masonry as well as to the reinforced concrete frames. This thesis focuses on the seismic behaviour of reinforced concrete structures with contained masonry infill, with a particular interest in the development of rational procedures for the analysis and design of RC frames with contained masonry infill. The estimation of the natural frequencies of the structural system is the basic investigation in dynamic analysis of a structure. Therefore the analysis is primarily to find out the modal frequencies of the structure and to simulate the mathematical model to earthquake loads. The structure vibrates in different modes when the earthquake takes place. The methodology suggested is to carry out a detailed study on the influence of contained masonry infill including un-reinforced masonry infill in multi-storey Reinforced Concrete frames on the fundamental natural frequencies and response due to various earthquake excitation forces. Numerical Finite element analysis is carried out on two dimensional Reinforced Concrete Frames under different configurations of contained masonry infill in addition to plain masonry and bare frames. The RC frames were designed and detailed as per relevant Indian standard codes. The present work consists of study of the behaviour of five storeyed RC frames infilled with contained masonry and also infilled with plain masonry, subjected to various earthquake excitation forces. Three types of models are considered for analysis; five storey frames of 4m wide, 5m wide and 6m wide models having total height of 16m with plain masonry infill and contained masonry infill are considered.

Seismic analysis of vertical irregular multistoried buildingeSAT Journals
Abstract It is understood that buildings which are regular in elevation (regular building) perform much better than those which have irregularity in elevation (irregular building) under seismic loading. Irregularities are not avoidable in construction of buildings. However a detailed study to understand structural behaviour of the buildings with irregularities under seismic loading is essential for appropriate design and their better performance. The main objective of this study is to understand the effect of elevation irregularity and behaviour of 3-D R.C. Building which is subjected to earthquake load. In the present study, a 5 bays X 5 bays, 16 storied structure with provision of lift core walls and each storey height 3.2 m, having irregularity in elevation, is considered as the soft storey 3-D structure. An Irregular building is assumed to be located in all zones. Linear dynamic analysis using Response Spectrum method of the irregular building is carried out using the standard and convenient FE software package. To quantify the effect of different degrees of irregularities all the structures are analysed. In addition, the analysis carried out also enables to understand the behaviour that takes place in irregular buildings in comparison to that in regular buildings. For this the behaviour parameters considered are 1) Maximum displacement 2) Base shear, 3) Time period. Key Words: asymmetric building, soft story, base shear, displacement, soft storey, time period.

Structural Analysis is a branch which involves in the determination of behaviour of structures in order to predict the responses of different structural components due to effect of loads. Each and every structure will be subjected to either one or the groups of loads, the various kinds of loads normally considered are dead load, live load, earth quake load and wind load.
ETABS (Extended Three Dimensional Analysis of Building System) is a software which is incorporated with all the major analysis engines that is static, dynamic, Linear and non-linear, etc and especially this Software is used to analyze and design the buildings. Our project “Wind Analysis of a Multi-storey building with and Without Mass Irregularity” is an attempt to analyze a multi storey building with Mass irregularity. A G+10 storey building is considered for this study. Irregularities are not avoidable in construction of buildings; Adequate precautions can be taken. A detailed study of structural behavior of the buildings with irregularities is essential for design and behavior. Civil engineering structures are mainly designed to resist static load. Generally the effect of dynamic loads acting on structure is not considered. This feature of neglecting the dynamic forces sometimes becomes the cause of disaster, Over the last two decades, Wind engineering has increasingly focused on the modest low rise and high rise structures, since much of the damage and financial loss associated with extreme wind events happens to these minimally engineered buildings like low rise buildings and also huge loss if encountered by the high rise buildings. As some of these model- and full - scale wind engineering data filters into the design codes and standards, one may expect to see reduced hurricane/cyclone damage. However, when one combines the more rapid increase in population along the world's tropical coasts with a generally unacceptably low standard of new building construction inspection, it seems quite likely that loss of life, as well as insured and uninsured property losses will continue to be the norm in the foreseeable future. The wind engineering community needs to be more responsible in forcefully transferring our technical knowledge to the designer and builder. In this present work the analysis for G+l0 Reinforced cement concrete building having mass irregularity in 9th floor and building without mass irregularity are analyzed. This thesis highlights the effects on floor which has different loads (mass irregularity) in multistorey building.

Comparative Study of Response of Structures Subjected To Blast and Earthquake...IJERA Editor
The increase in the number of terrorist attacks especially in the last few years has shown that the effect of blast
load on building is a serious challenge that should be taken in to consideration for designing of structures. This
type of loading damages the structures, externally as well as internally. Hence the blast load should be
considered with same importance as earthquake load. The present study includes the comparative performance
of G+3 storey building subjected to blast and earthquake loading using ETABS. For four storey building using
different input parameters like charge explosive, stand-off distance and layout of building the blast pressure are
conducted and linear time history analysis is carried out. Comparative study for blast and earthquake loading is
carried out for different parameters like maximum storey displacement, storey drift and quantity of materials.
Safe charge explosive and safe stand-off distance are obtained for the RCC structure with the sections of
structural elements same as per the requirement for earthquake resistance. Displacement is higher for the blast
loading as compared to earthquake loading and very high for the storey at which blast load is applied. Quantity
of concrete is 40 percentages higher for blast resistant building than the earthquake resistant building.
Progressive collapse analysis in rc structure due to 150513181706pradip patel
Now in the recent time of terrorism, structural engineers require new consideration of terrorist attack in the design standards. Modern day structures pose a unique challenge to designers due to increased terrorist activities. Bomb blasts, vehicular attacks, Arson, Armed based attack all may result into a partial or total collapse of buildings. The work undertaken is an attempt to recognize the behaviour of RC structure under series blast loading. A model of G+4 RC structures has been considered as a progressive collapse analysis. The RC building with effect of series blast loading is analysed by using linear static and dynamic analysis. The present study work will carry out the effective study of different parameters like; different types of explosive charges (5T-5T, 7.5T-7.5T, 10T-10T TNT) at 10 mt. stand-off distance, failure of structure element at storey level and the structure is checked for progressive collapse by using commonly available, widely used software SAP 2000 will utilize for analysis
In real condition the experimental study of scale on explosion resistance of reinforced concrete slab has highly expenses in conduction experiments. This analytical result of the work are overly desirable and close to the real time condition. This work indicates the obvious effect of scale on dynamic response resistance, stress strain behaviour, deflection of unilateral slab of reinforced concrete which are exposed to blast loading due to sudden explosion. To achieve this study reinforced concrete slab which were exposed to blast loading. Explosion test on this reinforced concrete slab which has different standoff distance. The slab are supported at its two ends using a suitable support condition. This work is analyze using the finite element software ABAQUS. The result of this experimental work is compared with the result obtained from the analytical result. From result the detachment in two slab of reinforced concrete both big and small is similar. The analytical behaviour of the slab is moreover same as that of the experimental behaviour
Comparative Study on Dynamic Analysis of Irregular Building with Shear WallsEditor IJCATR
South East Asia including Myanmar is situated in secondary seismic belt. Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention of the
effect of earthquake in designing the high-rise building. Shear walls are very common in high rise reinforced concrete building. In this study,
comparative analysis of high-rise reinforced concrete irregular building with shear walls are present. The frame type of proposed building is
used the special RC moment resisting frame. It belongs to seismic zone 4. This is why, seismic forces are essentially considered in the analysis
of this building and shear walls are also provided to resist seismic forces. Structural members are designed according to ACI Code 318-02. The
structure is analysed by using ETABS v 9.7.1 software. Load consideration is based on UBC-97. All necessary load combinations are
considered in shear walls analysis and frame analysis. In addition wind load, seismic load is considered as external lateral load in the dynamic
analysis. In dynamic analysis; Response Spectrum method is used. In this project, study of 14 storey building is presented with some
investigation which is analyzed by changing various location of shear wall for determining parameters like storey drift, storey shear and storey
moment .
Study on Effect of Wind Load and Earthquake Load on Multi-storey RC Framed Bu...IJSRD
Now a day the increase in the construction of tall buildings, residential and commercial sector, and the new trend are towards taller and slender structures. Though the effect of wind and earthquake, forces becoming important for every structural designer to know. Every engineer is facing with the problem of providing stability, strength for loads like lateral loads. That’s the reason wind as well as earthquake loading have become the influential factors in tall buildings. Loads that are lateral loads play important role for drift. The drift must be taken into consideration for tall structure. The above mentioned are some of the key issues which affect the behavior of structure and economy of the building. This thesis focuses the effects of lateral loads on medium and tall buildings the storey forces, displacements, storey shear, story drift every part of are analyzed on every level of height on the building, Indian codal provision gives us the basic wind speed at 10m height for some important cities/towns. However it does not provide for all the cities in India. In the following work attempt is made to find the effect of lateral loads i.e. wind load and earth quake loads for various models having shear walls and without shear wall. For the study a symmetrical building plan is used with 16 storeys and 31 storeys are analyzed and designed by using structure analysis software tool ETABS-2013. The study also includes the determination of base shear, displacement, storey drift, storey forces and the results are compared with them. These parameters have also considers the effect of shear wall. In order to design a structure to resist wind and earthquake loads, the forces on the structure must be specified.

This project provides an easy access to Administrators and Managers to view orders placed using Pay Later and Instant Pay options.
In order to develop an e-commerce website, a number of Technologies must be studied and understood. These include multi-tiered architecture, server and client-side scripting techniques, implementation technologies, programming language (such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and MySQL relational databases. This is a project with the objective to develop a basic website where a consumer is provided with a shopping cart website and also to know about the technologies used to develop such a website.
This document will discuss each of the underlying technologies to create and implement an e- commerce website.
Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
Using recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) for pavements is crucial to achieving sustainability. Implementing RCA for new pavement can minimize carbon footprint, conserve natural resources, reduce harmful emissions, and lower life cycle costs. Compared to natural aggregate (NA), RCA pavement has fewer comprehensive studies and sustainability assessments.
