This document summarizes a student project to design and build a solar-powered vehicle. In this paper, a solar PV (Photovoltaic) array, a battery energy storage (BES), a diesel generator (DG) set and grid based EV charging station (CS) is utilized to provide the incessant charging in islanded, grid connected and DG set connected modes. The charging station is primarily designed to use the solar photovoltaic PV array and a BES to charge the electric vehicle (EV) battery. However, in case of exhausted storage battery and unavailable solar PV array generation, the charging station intelligently takes power from the grid or DG (Diesel Generator) set. However, the power from DG set is drawn in a manner that, it always operates at 80-85% loading to achieve maximum fuel efficiency under all loading conditions. Moreover, in coordination with the storage battery, the charging station regulates the generator voltage and frequency without a mechanical speed governor. It also ensures that the power drawn from the grid or the DG set is at unity power factor (UPF) even at nonlinear loading. Moreover, the PCC (Point of Common Coupling) voltage is synchronized to the grid/ generator voltage to obtain the ceaseless charging. The charging station also performs the vehicle to grid active/reactive power transfer, vehicle to home and vehicle to vehicle power transfer for increasing the operational efficiency of the charging station. The operation of the charging station is experimentally validated using the prototype developed in the laboratory.

The presentation deals with the formation of a microgrid using the critical components. The concept of distributed generation and energy storage systems are explained. Furthermore, the need for power electronics and the need for energy storage systems in the microgrid is justified. Finally, the presentation is concluded with the discussion of successfully operating microgrid.

Wind and solar energy are becoming popular owing to the abundance, availability and ease of harnessing the energy for electrical power generation. This paper focuses on an integrated hybrid renewable energy system consisting of wind and solar energies. Grid tied power generation systems make use of solar PV or wind turbines to produce electricity and supply the load by connecting to the grid. In this study, the HOMER Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewable MATLAB modeling has been used to model the power system, its physical behavior and its life cycle cost. Through the use of simulations, the installation of ten 2 MW wind turbines and 2.5 MW solar PV was evaluated. This paper works on modelling of solar PV to generate DC voltage and then connected to chopper as well as inverter from which the outputs derived and analyzed in various control system and different inverter system like single phase inverter and multiphase inverter. In the next phase the hybrid connection trying to establish to achieve the single phase sinusoidal output voltage and to charge the electric vehicle charging station battery station. The output voltage and current as well as active and reactive power has been explored and analyzed. The simulation has been done on a Matlab software and simulation results obtained and analyzed. Climatic analysis is also essential requirement for the enhancement of the outputs as desired and the irradiation of the solar as well as direction analysis done to get the best output in the desired particular location. In 2017, 73% of people enterprises are using windows operating system. So the application will easily install for all the windows operating system users. The application-developed size is very low. The application consumes very low space in disk. Therefore, the user can allocate very minimum local disk space for this application.
