Implementation of environmental monitoring based on KAA IoT platformjournalBEEI
Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a key to access the internet of things (IoT). The popularity of IoT and the prediction that there will be more devices connected to the Internet cause difficulties in integrating and making connected devices. The problem of IoT implementation are the lack of real-time data collection, processing, and the inability to provide continuous monitoring. To overcome these problems, this paper proposes an IoT device for monitoring environmental conditions through the IoT KAA platform that can be monitored anywhere and anytime in real time. The end device node consists of several sensors such as as temperature, humidity, carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) sensors. The collected data from the end device node will be transmitted via a communication based on IEEE 802.15.4 to Raspberry Pi gateway, then sent to the KAA cloud server and saved into the database. The environmental data can be accessed via a web-based sensor application. We Analize the performance evaluation in terms of transaction, availability, data transfer, response time, transaction rate, throughput, and concurrency. The experimental result shows that the use of KAA IoT platform is better than that without platform.
Gas leakage has been a major concern in recent times. Though its usage has been extended in various industries, a small
unattended leakage can lead to catastrophic damage. The objective of this project is to present the design of a automatic
alarming system, which can detect and prevent liquefied petroleum gas leakage in various premises. This system alerts the user
by sending him an phone call and alerting the neighbors by buzzer alarm after the gas leaks above setpoint1.The servo motor
is used to close the gas pipe valves. This device ensures safety and prevents suffocation and explosion due to gas leakage. This project is implemented using arduino uno and simulated using Arduino ide and proteus software.
Since the development of advanced metering and digital technology, Smart City has been equipped based on things IOT in different electronic devices, and therefore smarter than before. The purpose of this paper is to carry out the concept of smart cities and their motivation and application of a comprehensive review. In addition, the survey describes the intelligent networking technology and smart cities and major components of urban functions. This also explains the major challenges and experiences around the world. In recent years, many of the bridges are monitored using non-destructive testing methods. These methods are used for checking the structural damage, wreckage, strength of the bridges. To reduce the human losses, economic losses, protect the strength and structure of bridge we are introducing a smart bridge monitoring using sensors where it gives high and low values depending upon the problem occurred in the bridge. Now a day we are in hike of power supply, so we are using Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) technology for regular monitoring of the bridge which consumes less power with accurate values. This project describes the real time working and getting real time values. Outcome of the project is to bring a product based module. R. Dhivya Devi | S. Dinesh | S. Gowri Shankar | K. IoT Based Water Quality Monitoring System for Smart CitiesYogeshIJTSRD
Since from the last centuries, water has been affected due to many parameters and actions done by human beings. Due to these actions drinking water becomes dangerous and harmful with increase in living population and also due to global warming and changes in natural climate. So, in upcoming generation we need safe drinking water for all living things. For these safety measures we need to first monitor the quality of the drinking water. In earlier days, people used some manual types of measurements for monitoring the water. But it takes more time and it has less efficiency. So, we need a better idea to check the quality of the water because water is more essential for all living things. By considering all these necessities, we develop a new methodology for monitoring the quality of the given water using IOT environment with low level of cost and with high efficiency. We also ensure real time data value by developing a web application using wi fi module, which can be accessed at anywhere. A. Guna Selvi | S. Vibhithra | A. IoT Based Accident Avoidance and Detection System for Two WheelersIJASRD Journal
The World Health Organization (WHO) pointed out that about 1.25 million people die each year due to accident especially, two wheelers. Timely medical aid can help in saving lives. This system aims to avoid accident and alert the nearby medical center and relatives about an accident to provide immediate medical aid in case of an accident. The attached accelerometer in the vehicle senses the tilt of the vehicle and supporting wheels will avoid the bike from fall. The vibration sensor on the vehicle senses the level of vibration to understand the seriousness of the accident. Thus, the system will make a decision and sends the information to the smart phone through IoT modem. The Android application in the mobile phone will sent text message to the nearest medical center and friends. Application also shares the exact location of the accident that can save the time. This system is also used to monitor the speed of the vehicle and to avoid accident by using the speed sensor. If the speed is greater than the predefined value then the alarm will enable to indicate the driver to reduce the speed.
