Abstract Most of the existing RC frame structures were not designed to withstand seismic effect. To meet those criteria structures should be retrofitted and out of all available retrofitting techniques adding steel braces are considered to be most efficient technique to enhance the seismic performance of the RC frame structure. In the present study three types of buildings are considered i.e., (G+2), (G+5), (G+8) as low rise, medium rise, high rise respectively, and these buildings are assigned by four different types of braces namely X, V, Inverted V, Eccen Forward at the periphery bays of the building in three different pattern i.e., model A, model B and model C. And these buildings are analyzed by nonlinear pushover analysis by using SAP2000.It is observed that the hinges were first formed in beams and followed by columns in bare frame whereas hinges were first formed in braces and followed by columns and followed by beams in case of X, Eccen forward brace and in case of V and inverted V hinges are formed first in brace followed by beams and followed by columns. It is pointed out that RC frames which are assigned with inverted V brace has least shear force and bending moment in the beams when compared to the other brace frames and there is less amount of variations in axial force shear force and bending moment in case of column. Abstract Severe earthquakes have an extremely low probability of occurrence during a structures life. If the earthquakes to be resisted by the structure elastically, it would require an expensive lateral load resisting system, which is not warranty. The structure may lose its aesthetic and functionality due to minor tremors and needs repairs; it will be a very unfavourable design. In addition to earthquake forces there may be wind or any vibrations which induce lateral loads in a structure. In our work we have taken only the earthquake load to find a system which balances the lateral loads and minimizes the displacements of the floors. With the literature review, it was founded that bracing in a structural system reduces the story drift and reduces the lateral force effect. To examine the performance of the bracings, bracing types like X and V bracings are considered and an analysis is performed in ETABS software. The results are studied, discussed and concluded for the best bracing system among both in our project. Keywords: Bracings, Time – History method

This research introduces a new simple, efficient, and practical procedure to design
the reinforced concrete (RC) circular slabs which have large diameters. The principal
idea of this paper concerns to use the isotropic perpendicular RC straight joists to
resist the external load. The yield-line theory was adapted to analysis the circular
waffle slabs. The steps of design were according to the ACI Code provisions. Fixed
and simply supported circular slabs were presented. Closed form equations have been
driven by author for the purposes of analysis and design this type of slabs by the
present procedure. Uniformly distributed load was considered, that represent almost
practical cases. Useful illustration example is presented in this study according to the
available materials in Iraq to facilitate the job of designers. The good performance of
RC circular slab which design by the present procedure proved clearly the efficiency
of this technique.

Abstract
Several studies proofs that the weaker columns has low seismic resistance, for this it is need to make the column stronger. The stronger columns can be obtained by many ways, here in this paper steel-concrete composite columns are considered. Use of composite columns in construction reduces the cross-section of the columns throughout the building and also increases the lateral-load resisting capacity to columns. The models consists of G+10, G+15, G+20 stories of Rectangular, L, T and plus shaped structures in which column spacing are varied as 3m, 4m, 5m and 6m along both directions in all structures. For all models the composite-column of size 450x450mm (ISMB 250) is kept constant, only the beam size has been varied accordingly while modeling a structure. The Response Spectrum analysis is done for all the buildings using ETABS version 15. Study is based on the performance of a multi-story building with plan irregularity under major earthquake forces by considering parameters like displacement, storey shear and drifts. Even though the cross section of the column considered is very small for tall buildings, the structure behaves stiff for severe seismic zone-V and also for different conditions; this is done by introducing steel-concrete composite column in a given building. Hence it is concluded that the use of composite columns in construction resists the lateral forces for many vulnerable conditions.

Assessment of seismic damage of multistory structures using fragility curvesIJERA Editor
Performance-based design, PBD, is gaining popularity and its concept hasbeen applied in many international
seismic building codes. In this research, five real structures designed according to the Egyptian Building Code,
which does not consider PBD, are considered and modeled in a three dimensional way using the software
SeismoStruct in order to assess their performance under expected earthquakes. The structures are 2-story, 4-

structures is of the moment-resisting frame type, with and without shear walls. The structures weredesigned
under dead, live and seismic forces of “Zone 3” with a design acceleration of 0.15g.The models were analyzed
using incremental dynamic analysis, IDA, considering 12 real records of historical earthquakes. IDA curves
were developed for all analyzed models, considering four damage states. Fragility curves were subsequently
developed to provide an overview of the expected seismic performance of a typical low or mid-rise multistory
reinforced concrete framed structure in Egypt as designed in accordance with thecurrent Egyptian Building

Effect of skew angle on uplift and deflection of rcc skew slabeSAT Journals
Abstract The study deals with the finite element modeling of simply supported skew slab with varying skew angles using ANSYS software. The behavior of the simply supported skew slab under point load applied at the centre depends on the ratio of short diagonal to its span. Skew slabs with ratio of short diagonal to span less than unity show lifting of acute corners whereas slabs with ratio of short diagonal to span greater than unity do not. Skew slab specimen with ratio of short diagonal to span less than unity is considered here for studying the effect of skew angle on the behavior of skew slab. The dimensions of skew slab were taken from available experimental data. In this paper skew angles varying from 0º to 30º were taken for the study. After the nonlinear finite element analysis of all skew slabs it is revealed that when skew angle increases the uplift at both the acute corners also increases. The result also suggests that the load carrying capacity increases with increase in skew angle. Keywords: Reinforced concrete, Finite element analysis, Skew slab, Uplift

The high rise buildings are majorly suffering with seismic forces, it can be found out by displacement parameter. The more the displacement the lesser will be the stiffness of the structure. The static analysis is having higher displacement value than response spectrum analysis. The increase in percentage is about 17 . This will increase the construction cost due to increase in stiffness. The base shear value increases with increase in weight of the structure. However, the diagrid structure seems to be having lesser weight than all other models. From the overall analysis it is proved that, diagrid structure is very much effective than any other structure. However, in case of constraint in providing diagrid due to its architectural features, the outrigger system with bracing will be very much effective. Design of Transmission Tower with Three Different Configurations on the Basis...ijtsrd
A transmission line is an integrated system made up of one subsystem for each type of support structure, a conductor subsystem, a ground wire subsystem, and a ground wire subsystem. Transfer line mechanical supports are a major component of the lines cost and are crucial for the efficient transmission of power. They are designed and constructed in wide variety of shapes, types, sizes, configurations and materials. The supporting structure types used in transmission lines generally fall into one of the three categories lattice, pole and guyed. The supports of EHV transmission lines are normally steel lattice towers. The cost of towers constitutes about quarter to half of the cost of transmission line and hence optimum tower design will bring in substantial savings. A transmission line towers cost effective design is greatly influenced by the choice of the ideal form and the appropriate. seismic response of multi storey building equipped with steel bracingINFOGAIN PUBLICATION
Steel bracing has proven to be one of the most effective systems in resisting lateral loads. Although its use to upgrade the lateral load capacity of existing Reinforced Concrete (RC) frames has been the subject of numerous studies, guidelines for its use in newly constructed RC frames still need to be developed. In this paper the study reveals that seismic performance of moment resisting RC frames with different patterns of bracing system. The three different types of bracings were used i.e. X - bracing system, V - bracing system and Inverted V - bracing system. This arrangement helped in reducing the structural response (i.e. displacement, interstorey drift, Shear Forces & Bending Moments) of the designed building structure. An (G+6) storey building was modelled and designed as per the code provisions of IS-1893:2002. And linear analysis is been carried out in the global X direction. The analysis was conducted with a view of accessing the seismic elastic performance of the building structure.

It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
