This document summarizes a research paper on developing an energy efficient approach for data aggregation in IoT networks. The paper proposes using cache nodes between cluster heads and the base station to reduce energy consumption. It analyzes that the proposed technique of deploying cache nodes performs better than the existing LEACH protocol in terms of packet loss, throughput and energy consumption. The simulation results show that the proposed approach lowers packet loss and energy usage compared to directly transmitting data from cluster heads to the base station.
Increased demands on the nation's electrical power systems and incidences of electricity shortages, power quality problems, rolling blackouts, electricity spiked prices have caused many customers to seek other sources for high-quality and reliable electricity. Distributed Energy Resources (DER) small-scale power generation resources located close to where the electricity is used (e.g., a house or commercial sectors), provide an alternate source of energy. DER is a faster and less expensive option for the construction of large and central power plants and also high-voltage transmission lines. They offer consumers the potential for lower cost, higher service reliability, high power quality, increased energy efficiency, and energy independence. The use of renewable distributed energy generation technologies and "green power" such as wind, photovoltaic, geothermal, biomass, or hydroelectric power can also provide a significant environmental benefit.

Design and Implementation of Wireless Sensor Node for WSN for Automatic Meter...paperpublications3
Abstract:Deploying an embedded technology, a wireless sensor node is designed and implemented for establishment of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) for automatic meter reading. The amount of power consumed by the load is extracted by passing the respective current through 1Ohm resistor. The analog voltage observed across it is digitized by employing on chip ADC of AVR Atmega 8L microcontroller. The ADC of 10 bit resolution helps to enhance preciseness in the data. Using principle of energy meter, the power consumed is determined and depicted in the terms of watts and units as well. An embedded firmware is developed by employing CodeVisionAVR, the IDE, which is dedicated for AVR family of microcontrollers. Employing an ubiquitous technology, the Zigbee technology, RF communication is established at 2.4GHz of ISM band. The Zigbee RF module is interfaced to the system and programmed by using X-CTU. Each node (End Devices) is assigned with its own ID and disseminates the data to the co-ordinator node, which is interfaced to the base station. The present wireless sensor network is operating in star technology and following IEEE 802.15.4 standards, it is operating with great reliability. The WSN is suitable for electric power distribution and control boards.

Electricity-theft detection in smart grids based on deep learningjournalBEEI
lectricity theft is a major concern for utilities. The smart grid (SG) infrastructure generates a massive amount of data, including the power consumption of individual users. Utilizing this data, machine learning, and deep learning techniques can accurately identify electricity theft users. A convolutional neural network (CNN) model for automatic electricity theft detection is presented. This work considers experimentation to find the best configuration of the sequential model (SM) for classifying and identifying electricity theft. The best performance has been obtained in two layers with the first layer consists of 128 nodes and the second layer is 64 nodes. The accuracy reached up to 0.92. This enables the design of high-performance electricity signal classifiers that can be used in several applications. Designing electricity signals classifiers has been achieved using a CNN and the data extracted from the electricity consumption dataset using an SM. In addition, the blue monkey (BM) algorithm is used to reduce the features in the dataset. In this respect, the focusing of this work is to reduce the features in the dataset to obtain high-performance electricity signals classifier models.

Integration of internet of things with wireless sensor networkIJECEIAES
The Internet of things (IoT) is a major source for technology solutions in many industries. The IoT can consider, Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) as the backbone network to reduce formation or advent of new technology. Integration of these would reduce the burden and form smart sensor node network with nodes given access to internet. WSN is already a major legacy system that has percolated into many industries. Thus by integration of IoT and WSN no huge paradigm shift is needed for the industries.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN CONDENSING HEAT EXCHANGERS...ssuser7dcef0
Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be
reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation. reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation.
Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.
