This document discusses an experimental study on the effect of thermal properties of fly ash-based concrete. Fly ash is obtained from a sugar industry and sieved into two grain sizes. Concrete slabs are prepared by replacing cement with 20%, 25%, and 30% fly ash fractions. Experiments are conducted to determine the thermal conductivity, coefficient of thermal expansion, specific heat, and thermal diffusivity of the concrete slabs and compared to normal concrete. The results show that fly ash concrete has lower thermal conductivity, higher specific heat capacity, and lower thermal expansion compared to normal concrete.

Hoop stress based calculation of efficiency is more reliable and may give more accurate and practical aspects based results.
Fabrication of ceramic matrix composite by using microwave energyIJARIDEA Journal
Abstract— Nowadays, ceramic matrix composites are being extensively used for industries and household
purposes. However, these ceramic composites materials are substantially resistant to biodegradation. In this
experimental study the specimen of silicon carbide with varying percentage of titanium carbide (TiC) has
been fabricated by using microwave sintering. Different samples having TiC 5%, 10%, 15% (wt%) were
prepared by die pressing. Then sample were heated in microwave furnace at different range of temperatures
i.e. 1150°C, 1250°C and 1350°. It was found that with increase in the weight percentage (wt %) of TiC, the
porosity was maximum in 1150°C and minimum porosity achieved maximum temperature 1350°C. The
maximum hardness was achieved in 1350°C when 15 wt % of TiC. Density was also increased with respect to
the increase in temperature and TiC wt %.

The mixtures used in the rubber industry to modify the properties of rubber, depending on the
application field in which the character is used rubber whether subjected to mechanical loads or be
in contact with solutions or exposed to sunlight or any other race. These agents are varying the
properties of the reinforced rubber, then this research examines the issue of immersion styrene
butadiene rubber (SBR) reinforced by polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in cutting fluids used in operation
machines on the rubber pillows supplied with these machines. SBR was reinforced by
(0,5,10,15,20, and 25pphr) PVC and were studied the effects of immersion in semi synthetics
(30% petroleum oil) on the compression strength of SBR-PVC rubber composite for a period of
four weeks. The results obtained showed lower compression strength after immersion in solution
when compared with original material before immersion, and this decrease in strength will
increase, with increases the duration of exposure of the petroleum oil. And the results
demonstrated that the compression strength of SBR will enhance by adding PVC.
Materials testing is a vital component throughout the PVC industry. An understanding of the commonly used tests can help give you a competitive edge and ensure a quality end product.

Dielectric Properties of Compatibilised EPDM/Silicone rubber NanocompositesIJERA Editor
EPDM/Silicone rubber nanocomposites are prepared by incorporating various phr of organically modified montmorillonite (OMMT) nanoclay onto compatibilised and uncompatibilised EPDM/Silicone rubber blends using two roll mill. Compatibilisation of EPDM and Silicone rubber blend is achieved through insitu grafting of silane onto EPDM during mixing of rubbers. Effect of OMMT content and compatibilisation of blend system on electrical, mechanical and thermal properties of the nanocomposites are investigated. The results obtained for various properties indicate that the compatibilised EPDM/Silicone rubber nanocomposites have improved dielectric, mechanical and thermal properties compared to that of uncompatibilised blend nanocomposites. It is observed that, the addition of OMMT upto 5 phr onto both compatibilised and uncompatibilised blends of EPDM/Silicone offers significant improvement in the above mentioned properties. Increasing content of OMMT onto the blends cause marked enhancement in thermal stability of the nanocomposties. Transmission electron micrographs shows the compatibility between EPDM and silicone rubbers in the blend and the exfoliation of OMMT layers in the matrix phase. The present work reveals that the compatibilised EPDM/ Silicone/ OMMT nanocomposite can be a better candidate for high voltage electrical insulation due to its enhanced dielectric, mechanical and themal characteristics.

Process parameters are crucial to produce targeted qualities in polypropylene (PP)/clay nanocomposites, due to their roles on the generation of shear and diffusion. Thus, this research aims to observe their effects on structures and properties of PP/clay nanocomposites. Samples were produced by mixing PP, PP grafting maleic anhydride (PP-gMA), and Cloisite 20A at fixed compositions, 88/9/3 wt%, respectively, in an internal mixer with variations on temperatures (210, 220, 230 °C) and speeds (60, 80, 100 rpm). Effect of mixing parameters on nanocomposite structures and properties were investigated from XRD, SEM and flexural properties. The results showed that all samples had intercalated as well as agglomerated structures. Further analysis on XRD and SEM showed that samples produced at
high conditions (230C or 100 rpm) had similar structures. In contrast, low setting sample (210C and 60 rpm), despite its similarity on dispersion level, had longer agglomerates than that of mixed at high settings. Correlated both increase of d-spacing and agglomerates length to flexural properties suggested that modulus was more influenced by dispersion level, while strength
was affected by agglomerates. However, it was worth to note that improvement on dspacing, with availability of long agglomerates might not guarantee modulus and strength improvement due to low interfacial bonding.

Abstract The issues related to thermal cracking of concrete at early age are discussed in this paper. The main cause of these cracks are inhomogeneous volume changes associated with thermal and moisture gradients occurring in concrete structures which affects the durability of structure, serviceability or its appearance. The experimental study was carried out on six cast in-place reinforced concrete slabs and three reinforced thick concrete walls of different section thicknesses to determine the peak temperature rise in the structure, which was determined using temperature sensor (Thermocouple). Results obtained in the study indicated different peak rise in temperature for different section thickness, it was also studied that slabs and walls of same section thickness, produced nearly same peak temperature rise in the structure. The paper also discusses crack control measure by provision of distribution reinforcement to prevent early age thermal cracking based on the thermal data's obtained in the field. The design is carried out as per the available provisions in Indian code for the field data's, and the design results are compared with the available data's in Indian codes.. Critical heat flux enhancement in pool boiling with al2 o3 water nanofluideSAT Journals
Abstract Boiling is an important phase change phenomena as it plays a crucial role in the design of high heat flux system like boilers, heat exchangers, microscopic heat transfer devices. However boiling phenomenon is limited by critical heat flux. At critical heat flux material of heated surface suffers physical damage due to lower heat transfer resulting from thin film formed over the surface. Now a days Nanofluid which is colloidal suspension of nanoparticle in base fluid is highlighted as innovative techniques to enhance critical heat flux. In the present study Al2O3 nanoparticles were characterized by using SEM and XRD analysis. From SEM images it was seen that nanoparticle has spherical morphology, and from XRD analysis average nanoparticle size determined was 29.48 nm. Five different nanofluids of concentration range from 3 gram/liter to 15 gram/liter were prepared. Critical heat flux (CHF) of each Al2O3-water nanofluid in pool boiling is determined on NiCr wire of SWG 28. The minimum critical heat flux enhancement is 30.53% at 3 gram/liter nanofluid compared to critical heat flux of distilled water. The highest critical heat flux enhancement is 72.70 % at 12 gram/liter nanofluid. Critical heat flux of nanofluid increases with increase in concentration of Al2O3 nanoparticle in distilled water up to 12 gram/liter nanofluid. Surface roughness of bare wire was 0.126 μm. Surface roughness of wire sample used in pool boiling of 3 gram/liter nanofluid is 0.299μm and highest surface roughness was 0.715 μm of heater used in pool boiling of 12 gram/liter nanofluid. The Surface roughness measurement results show the evidence of nanoparticle deposition on wire surface and its effect on Critical Heat Flux enhancement. Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles.
