Optical and Dielectric Studies on Semiorganic Nonlinear Optical Crystal by So...ijrap
The field of nonlinear optics became practically a reality after the invention of laser. High performance electro-optic switching elements for telecommunication and optical information processing are based on materials with high nonlinear optical (NLO) properties. Single crystals of nonlinear optical material Llysine sulphate (LLS) are grown by slow evaporation technique. The crystal structure and lattice parameters are determined for the grown crystal by single X-ray diffraction studies. The wide transparency range of the crystals in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum is identified by the UV-Vis-NIR technique. The mechanical property of the grown crystal is determined by Vicker’s microhardness test. It is observed from the microhardness studies of the grown crystals that the hardness increases with increase in load. Meyer’s index n is calculated which proves that the material belongs to soft material category. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss are calculated by varying the frequencies at room temperature. The emission of green light on passing the Nd: YAG laser confirms the second harmonic generation (SHG) property of the crystals .The SHG efficiency of the crystals are found to be better than that of Potassium Di hydrogen Phosphate (KDP)

We are reporting the preparation of ZnO nanotablets at relatively low temperature (1500C) using zinc acetate [Zn(Ac)2], NaOH, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) by solvothermal method. By adjusting
the molar ratio of the reactants we obtained nanorods and we also obtained the variation of the dimension
of the nanorods using hydrazine hydrate as capping reagent. The prepared samples were morphologically
recognized as well crystallized. The average diameter of the ZnO nanotablets were ranging from 500 to 600 nm and the average thickness of the nanotablets were ranging from 85 to 90 nm. The length of ZnO nanorods were ranging from 300 to several micrometers and breadth of the ZnO nanorods were ranging from 80 to 160 nm. The optical properties of the prepared materials have also been studied with the exhibition of its interesting behavior.
Effect of glycine as an impurity on the properties of Epsomite single crystalsIOSR Journals
Epsomite (MgSO4.7H2O) is a hydrogen bonded crystal having a wide range of applications in various fields. Pure and glycine added Epsomite (a total of six) single crystals have been grown and characterized in order to investigate the effect of glycine as an impurity on the properties of Epsomite crystals. The densities and lattice parameters observed indicate that the impurity molecules have entered into the crystal matrix. The grown crystals exhibit good optical transparency in the wavelength range 210-1100 nm. Second harmonic generation measurements indicate that they are nonlinear optically active. Results obtained through microhardness measurements follow the normal indentation size effect. Electrical (AC and DC) measurements indicate that all the six crystals grown in the present study exhibit a normal dielectric behavior and the electrical conduction is understood to be due to the protonic movement. Moreover, glycine addition is found to reduce εr value significantly indicating the possibility of Epsomite crystal becoming a low -εr value dielectric material.

Synthesis, Characterization of ZnS nanoparticles by Coprecipitation method us...IOSR Journals
ZnS nanoparticles are prepared by coprecipitation method using various capping agents like PVP (polyvinylpyrrolidone), PVA (polyvinylalcohol) and PEG-4000 (polyethyleneglycol). These are characterized by UV-Visible spectra, X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies, Fourier Transform Infra-red spectra (FTIR) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). UV-Visible absorption spectra are used to find the optical band gap and the values obtained have been found to be in the range of 3.80-4.00eV. The particle size of nanoparticles calculated from XRD pattern has been in the range of 2-4 nm. It is also observed that the particle size of nanoparticle is affected by the nature of capping agent. Photo catalytic degradation of xylenol orange (XO) by the nanoparticles shows that these act as photo catalysts under sunlight irradiation. The XO dye was degraded more than 87.24, 83.42 and 73.05% in the presence of PEG-4000, PVA and PVP capped ZnS nanoparticles in 120, 150 and 180 min. respectively. The kinetics of catalyzed by synthesized ZnS nanoparticles with XO dye follows pseudo-first order kinetics with reasonable apparent rate constants.

Mn, Ce co-doped CdS nanoparticles were prepared by chemical co-precipitation method at room temperature. The prepared samples were characterized by X- ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive analysis of X-rays (EDAX), photoluminescence (PL) and
high resolution Raman spectroscopic techniques. X-ray diffraction studies showed that the diameter of the particles was around 10-12 nm. Broadened XRD peaks revealed the formation of nanoparticles with wurtzite structure. The Raman spectra of undoped and Mn, Ce ions co-doped CdS nanoparticles showed longitudinal optical mode. Compared with the 1LO and 2LO Raman modes (296 and 590 cm-1
) of undoped CdS nanoparticles, the Raman modes of Mn, Ce co- doped CdS nanoparticles were slightly shifted towards lower frequency. PL spectra of the samples showed remarkable enhancement in the intensity upon doping
Preparation and Properties of Nanocrystalline Zinc Oxide Thin Filmsijtsrd
Metal oxide is highly important material which possesses many unique optical and electrical properties for applications in many areas such as Solar cells, Gas sensors and so on. With the development of research and applications of Metal oxide thin films, research results are verified that the morphology of Metal oxide thin films are plays an important role in applications of these films. Variety of morphologies, complex structure has been developed by physical or chemical methods. However the work on controlled growth of these films is still in developing state. Therefore in present work we deposited ZnS and ZnO metal oxides thin films on different substrates by Chemical Bath Deposition Technique. Structural, Surface Morphology and Optical properties of as deposited films were investigated by XRD, SEM, and UV VIS Spectrophotometer. The band gap is also calculated from the equation relating absorption co efficient to wavelength. The band gap indicates the film is transmitting within the visible range and the band gaps changes because of the grain size of the films. We also observed that, the change in preparative parameters affects the deposition rate of thin films. From the observation, it is clear that the growth rate increases as the deposition temperature, increases. S. S. Development of Ni-doped Yttria stabilized Zirconia composite for SOFC applica...IOSRJAP
Ni-doped Yttria stabilized Zirconia (NiO/YSZ) has been synthesized using low cost combustion process from an aqueous solution containing ZrO(NO3)2.6H2O, Y(NO3)3.6H2O, Ni(NO3)2.6H2O and urea. Pellets were sintered at 13500C for 5 hours and its sintered density is estimated to be of 95%. Sintered pellets were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) & X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques. From the XRD analysis, as grown powder of NiO/YSZ showed nano-crystalline behavior with homogeneous mixture of YSZ and NiO phases. However sintered powder showed µ-size dense grain growth. Temperature and frequency dependent dielectric properties are corroborated with the conduction mechanism. Both dielectric constant (K) and loss (tan δ) are increased sharply at high temperature region, which is expected to be the onset of dipolar relaxation phenomena due to the presence of oxygen vacancies. A mixed conductivity involving ionic conduction in the high temperature range and electronic conduction in the low temperature range was observed. The decrease in K and tan δ with increase in frequency at a given temperature suggests the dynamic interaction of oxygen vacancies & oxide ion pairs.

Zinc Vanadate (ZnV2O5) Nanocrystals were prepared by two steps, ceramic route process. Optimization of the
ceramic route processing conditions enhances the Electrocatalytic and Antimicrobial performance of the prepared
nanoparticles. The thermally treated material was subjected to XRD, FTIR, UV-Visible spectroscopy, SEM and
EDS, which confirmed the formation of Zinc Vanadate (ZnV2O5) Nanocrystals. The electrochemical detection of
Anthracene by Zinc Vanadate nanoparticles was investigated by Cyclic Voltammetry. The result concludes that the
ZnV2O5 NPs have the higher activity for detection and oxidation of Anthracene. The as-synthesized ZnV2O5 NPs were
found to exhibit strong antimicrobial activity against both Escherichia coli (E.coli) gram-negative and
Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) gram-positive microorganisms implying their strong potential as the antimicrobial
agent.
Potentiostatic Deposition of ZnO Nanowires: Effect of Applied Potential and Z...IJRES Journal
In this work we report on potentiostatic deposition of Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanowires on fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) covered glass substrates from electroreduction of molecular oxygen. The influence of applied deposition potential, and the concentrations of zinc precursor (ZnCl2) on the properties of ZnO nanowires was investigated.SEM results revealed that ZnO nanowires electrodeposited at applied potential -0.85Vhave high density and good alignment. The diameters and densities of the electrodeposited ZnO nanowires are strongly dependent on the zinc ion concentrations and well aligned nanowires with uniform diameter can be obtained when the concentration of zinc ions is between 0.5 mM and 1 mM.
Effect of Sn Doping on Structural and Electrical Properties of ZnO Thin Films...journal ijrtem
Abstract: Un-doped and tin (Sn) doped ZnO films were deposited on heated glass substrates by chemical spray pyrolysis method
(CSP). The effect of Sn concentration on the structural, surface morphological and electrical properties of the SnO2 films was
investigated. XRD analyses showed that the obtained films are polycrystalline in nature with hexagonal structure with preferred
orientation of (101). Doping with tin (Sn) causes increase in the grain size. Atomic force microscopy images showed that the root
mean square of the average surface roughness's varied from (1.48 to 3.58) as dopant concentration increased from 0 to 5 wt.%. The
electrical properties of the Sn ZnO films were strongly influenced by doping concentration. The electrical resistance of the films was
sharply decreased as dopant concentration increased.

Greener cum chemical synthesis and characterization of Mg doped ZnS nanoparti...IJERA Editor
In the present investigations, high-quality Mg doped ZnS nanoparticles were synthesized by Greener cum
chemical process with the assistance of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) with two different Mg concentrations.
Doping of Mg metal in nanoparticles were found to be a good technique for tuning the band gap of ZnS
nanoparticles. Simultaneously, Mg doping also inhibited the growth of particle size and it decreased from 33.2
nm to 18.3 nm with the increase in doping concentration from 0% to 5%. Band gap was found to rise from 3.12
eV to 3.38 eV and photoluminescence studies exposed that visible Photoluminescence (PL) emission was
improved with doping concentration. The nanoparticles have been characterized by Field Emission Scanning
Electron Microscopy (FESEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy,
Ultra Violet visible (UV–vis) spectroscopy, and Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis (EDAX).

Spectroscopic and Physical Properties of Mn2+ spin probe in RO-P2O5-ZnO-Pb3O4...IJERA Editor
RO-P2O5-ZnO-Pb3O4 (R=Li, Na and K) glasses containing 0.1concentrations of MnO have been prepared. The structural, optical and physical properties of prepared glasses are studied by XRD, UV-Visible, EPR and FTIR techniques. The nature of local symmetry and structural information of the neighboring atoms of dopant ions (Mn2+) in the host matrix have been understood by evaluating the crystal field strength (Dq) and Racah (B & C) parameters. The combined analysis of optical absorption and EPR spectroscopy has indicated that the manganese ions exist in Mn2+ (in octahedral) local coordination sites. FTIR results showed that PO4 are the main structural unit of the glass system and the manganese ions are located in the glass matrix network.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
