This document describes a system for automatic license plate detection and recognition. The system uses image processing techniques in MATLAB to capture an image of a vehicle license plate, preprocess the image by converting it to grayscale and reducing noise, segment the license plate from the image, and recognize the characters on the plate using optical character recognition. The system is proposed to identify vehicles entering a university campus and check if they are registered in the university's database. The document outlines the methodology, which involves preprocessing, segmentation, character separation, and character recognition steps. It also discusses related work on license plate detection algorithms and presents experimental results demonstrating the system's ability to accurately extract license plate numbers from images.

PCB Faults Detection Using Image Processingijceronline
This paper reviews the digital image processing for PCB fault detection by using MATLAB software. In this project we are implementing different algorithms in sequentional manner with GUI. In this process we are giving two input images one to be inspected for errors i.e. layout of circuit which is implemented on PCB and other one is reference image or standard image of PCB. After these process we can obtained numbers of faults in any respect like hole, Breakout etc. it helps to detect the fault at primary stage of designing. Hence to improve the image quality of compared image we use sharpened process, so we get sharpen images and fault can be detected easily and it is fast and accurate .it reduce the manufacturing cost of PCB
Vehicle License Plate Recognition (VLPR) is an important system for harmonious traffic. Moreover this system is helpful in many fields and places as private and public entrances, parking lots, border control and theft control. This paper presents a new framework for Sudanese VLPR system. The proposed framework uses Multi Objective Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO) and Connected Component Analysis (CCA) to extract the license plate. Horizontal and vertical projection will be used for character segmentation and the final recognition stage is based on the Artificial Immune System (AIS). A new dataset that contains samples for the current shape of Sudanese license plates will be used for training and testing the proposes framework.
Shot Boundary Detection using Radon Projection MethodIDES Editor
The detection of shot boundaries provides a base for
nearly all video abstraction and high-level video segmentation
approaches. Therefore solving the problem of shot boundary
detection is one of the major prerequisites for revealing
higher level video content structure. As a crucial step in video
indexing and retrieval, accurate shot boundary detection plays
an important role to organize and summarize video content
into meaningful shots for further scene analysis. Many
algorithms have been proposed for detecting video shot
boundaries and classifying shots and shot transition types. In
this paper we propose a novel technique for shot boundary
detection using radon transform. We first removed the effect
of illumination using DCT and DWT. Then shot boundary is
detected using radon transform. Radon transform is based on
projection of image intensity along a radial line oriented at a
specific angle. Projection of image intensity for current frame
is different than that of projection of the previous frame, where
shot boundary is detected. In order to verify the performance
of algorithm, experiments have been carried out with news,
documentary and movie. Experimental result demonstrates
efficiency of proposed shot boundary detection technique.
Performance Evaluation of Image Edge Detection Techniques CSCJournals
The success of an image recognition procedure is related to the quality of the edges marked. The
aim of this research is to investigate and evaluate edge detection techniques when applied to
noisy images at different scales. Sobel, Prewitt, and Canny edge detection algorithms are
evaluated using artificially generated images and comparison criteria: edge quality (EQ) and map
quality (MQ). The results demonstrated that the use of these criteria can be utilized as an aid for
further analysis and arbitration to find the best edge detector for a given image.
Proposal and Implementation of the Connected-Component Labeling of Binary Ima...CSCJournals
The connected-component labeling (CCL) is a technique for extracting connected pixels having the same value. It is mainly used for abnormality diagnosis of products, and for extracting noise areas of products. In the extraction of product areas in product diagnosis, a hole filling processing (HFP) is used to complement discolored areas. However, the HFP is inefficient, because the CCL needs to be executed twice in the foreground and background, and half of the threads are idle during each process. In this study, we propose a rewriting method for continuous label IDs with pixel-by-pixel parallelism, and a HFP method using simultaneous CCL of foreground and background. We implemented and evaluated these methods on Jetson TX2. The rewriting process to the continuous label ID is 3.7-13.8 times faster than the conventional method of sequential processing on the CPU, and on average 9.2 times faster. For the HFP using simultaneous CCL, we implemented and verified the conventional method that requires twice the CCL and the proposed method that can extract the foreground and background with one CCL. The performance of the proposed method is about 13-27% better than that of the conventional method. In addition, in the lightweight object detection method that is an application using the proposed method, the facial detection time is about 14 ms, which is about 60 times faster than the conventional method. As a result, the facial detection processing with high computational complexity can be operated practically even on an inexpensive and small processor. The CCL process for GPGPU has little room for optimization, and it has been difficult to achieve higher speeds. However, we focused on wasted idols in the HFP, proposed a method to reduce and supplement them, and realized a faster HFP than the conventional method.

Mobile Based Application to Scan the Number Plate and To Verify the Owner Det...inventionjournals
Any License plate recognition system usually passes through three steps of image processing: 1) Extraction of a license plate region; 2) Segmentation of the plate characters; and 3) Recognition of each character. A number of algorithms have been proposed in recent times for efficient disposal of the application. The purpose of this project was to develop a real time application which recognizes number plates from cars at a gate, for example at the entrance of a parking area or a border crossing. The system, based on regular PC with mobile camera, catches video frames which include a visible car number plate and processes them. Once a number plate is detected, its digits are recognized, displayed on the User Interface or checked against a database. The software aspect of the system runs on mobile hardware and can be linked to other applications or databases. It first uses a series of image manipulation techniques to detect, normalize and enhance the Image of the number plate, and then optical character recognition (ocr) to extract the alpha numeric text of number plate. The system are generally deployed in one of two basic approaches: one allows for the entire process to be performed at the lane location in real-time. The other will reveal the driver’s profile by checking in the registered database.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.
Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.
