This document summarizes and compares different approaches for vehicle traffic analysis, including edge detection, background subtraction, blob detection, and the YOLO convolutional neural network approach. It finds that while earlier approaches have advantages for daytime use, YOLO provides more accurate real-time analysis of traffic by detecting stationary and moving vehicles with fewer errors related to illumination or occlusion. YOLO analyzes entire frames simultaneously for faster processing while maintaining precision.
Real Time Object Identification for Intelligent Video Surveillance ApplicationsEditor IJCATR
Intelligent video surveillance system has emerged as a very important research topic in the computer vision field in the
recent years. It is well suited for a broad range of applications such as to monitor activities at traffic intersections for detecting
congestions and predict the traffic flow. Object classification in the field of video surveillance is a key component of smart
surveillance software. Two robust methodology and algorithms adopted for people and object classification for automated surveillance
systems is proposed in this paper. First method uses background subtraction model for detecting the object motion. The background
subtraction and image segmentation based on morphological transformation for tracking and object classification on highways is
proposed. This algorithm uses erosion followed by dilation on various frames. Proposed algorithm in first method, segments the image
by preserving important edges which improves the adaptive background mixture model and makes the system learn faster and more
accurately. The system used in second method adopts the object detection method without background subtraction because of the static
object detection. Segmentation is done by the bounding box registration technique. Then the classification is done with the multiclass
SVM using the edge histogram as features. The edge histograms are calculated for various bin values in different environment. The
result obtained demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
Online video-based abnormal detection using highly motion techniques and stat...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
At the essence of video surveillance, there are abnormal detection approaches, which have been proven to be substantially effective in detecting abnormal incidents without prior knowledge about these incidents. Based on the state-of-the-art research, it is evident that there is a trade-off between frame processing time and detection accuracy in abnormal detection approaches. Therefore, the primary challenge is to balance this trade-off suitably by utilizing few, but very descriptive features to fulfill online performance while maintaining a high accuracy rate. In this study, we propose a new framework, which achieves the balancing between detection accuracy and video processing time by employing two efficient motion techniques, specifically, foreground and optical flow energy. Moreover, we use different statistical analysis measures of motion features to get robust inference method to distinguish abnormal behavior incident from normal ones. The performance of this framework has been extensively evaluated in terms of the detection accuracy, the area under the curve (AUC) and frame processing time. Simulation results and comparisons with ten relevant online and non-online frameworks demonstrate that our framework efficiently achieves superior performance to those frameworks, in which it presents high values for the accuracy while attaining simultaneously low values for the processing time.

Efficient and secure real-time mobile robots cooperation using visual servoing IJECEIAES
This paper deals with the challenging problem of navigation in formation of mobiles robots fleet. For that purpose, a secure approach is used based on visual servoing to control velocities (linear and angular) of the multiple robots. To construct our system, we develop the interaction matrix which combines the moments in the image with robots velocities and we estimate the depth between each robot and the targeted object. This is done without any communication between the robots which eliminate the problem of the influence of each robot errors on the whole. For a successful visual servoing, we propose a powerful mechanism to execute safely the robots navigation, exploiting a robot accident reporting system using raspberry Pi3. This reporting system testbed is used to send an accident notification, in the form of a specifical message. Experimental results are presented using nonholonomic mobiles robots with on-board real time cameras, to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
Traffic Light Detection for Red Light Violation Systemijtsrd
The goal of Red Light Violation Detection System RLVDS is to track down vehicles that violated traffic regulations using surveillance cameras and image processing techniques. A complete automated red light runner detection algorithm that satisfies real time requirement and gives higher accuracy have been developed. The system detects simultaneously a traffic light sequence, stop line and detection region to detect moving vehicles and capture the vehicles beyond the stop line while the light is red and finally generates the red light running vehicle images with date and time information. In this paper, we propose a traffic light detection algorithm which is one of the processes of automated red light runner detection system. The proposed traffic light detection system includes four steps color space conversion based on RGB color space, some regions are extracted as candidates of a traffic light and morphological operation is applied to eliminate disturbance in the environment that can interfere with the traffic light states. Then, the types of traffic signals are judged by calculating image moments and the results of experiment show that the system is stable and reliable. Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
